#MAGFAB: Idris Elba for GQ UK - Heroes Issue 2026
In a new cover story for British GQ’s Heroes Issue, Idris Elba reflects on moving beyond playing cool guys and superheroes to focus on tackling knife crime, community work and getting comfortable playing his most personal role yet: himself.
Idris when asked about the Bond rumours: “It was never legit. It was always just a rumour.”
Elba says fans simply took it and ran with it: “I’ve always felt that it’s not a realistic thing. James Bond was written how he was written for a reason. But I was complimented by it. And also, I think, in realistic terms, some markets just don’t go for that. Bond is big all over the world. And [audiences] won’t [all] go for a Black male, an African male, playing Bond. That’s not what they like in their culture. Period.”
He also believes that changing Bond isn’t really necessary: “Bond is so unrealistic, so a hint of reality is good, but let’s not try and make it woke. I think you’ve got to be pure to what it is: escapism. Don’t try and answer the world’s taste. Just be Bond.” Elba starts the interview by doing an acting exercise in which he pretends to be a fried egg. He had done the same exercise years earlier and, while the other boys were afraid of looking stupid, Elba cared about only one thing: whether he looked believable:

Idris Elba thought he would follow a Sidney Poitier-style trajectory as a serious actor taking only serious roles. That didn’t happen, but through directing projects like Yardie and an upcoming adaptation of This Is How It Goes, he says he’s finally constructing the career he imagined at the start: “If directing wasn’t an option for me, I’m not sure how long I’d be acting. I want to be inspired again. I think the inspiration comes from watching other actors and moulding and getting people to say it differently.”

Elba uses his unpredictable career to his advantage. Other actors might avoid the kind of role he takes on simply for fun, such as in the deeply camp Masters of the Universe, in which he plays Eternia’s moustachioed head of weaponry, Man-At-Arms: “I did that for me, man. I remember taking it, thinking, Uhhhh… I suppose at my age, with the kind of things I’ve done, and the kind of things I’m doing, can I get away with being in a film like that? I thought, F*ck it, why not?
“Talk about recasting. (Man-At-Arms is canonically ginger.) I was a bit conscious about it. But then I was like, What are you talking about?! Man-At-Arms could be any colour! He’s got green legs, for God’s sake!”
Now, Idris Elba finds himself being hailed as a hero. Knighted in 2026 for his work with young people and anti-knife crime campaigning, he also fronted the BBC documentary Our Knife Crime Crisis: “It’s a massive contradiction to what I said earlier. I just found myself front and centre, speaking up.”

It started with a rant on Instagram in 2019, when Idris Elba felt overwhelmed by the constant news of young people killing each other. From there, it snowballed:
“Listening to the reports every day – it was hopeless. It was almost, if I was a young person, like, ‘Bruh, I could carry a knife, and no one would know. I could stab someone, and no one would know.’ Because it just seemed so hopeless. And I just thought to myself, Well, I get to stand on a soapbox on Graham Norton all day and talk about stuff, wear a T-shirt and everyone wants to buy it, whatever it is, and like, I should be saying something. I’ve got kids. If anything happened to my kids I’d be f*cking devastated. So that was it. It wasn’t like ‘Oh I want to campaign.’ It was, ‘Is no one gonna say anything?’”
The public discourse around knife crime also hit Elba where it hurt: pop culture: “I’m a DJ. I make music. I could hear this nonsense.”

#RHOA: Porsha Williams Makes a Bold Statement on Cynthia Bailey and Her Boyfriend LePrince
Porsha Williams enthusiastically praised Cynthia Bailey’s relationship with LePrince on RHOA, noting their strong chemistry and Cynthia’s happiness.
Cynthia described their long‑distance relationship as balanced and fulfilling, and confirmed the pair have been together for nearly two years despite a 19‑year age gap.
Cynthia expressed she does not plan to legally marry again, prioritizing peace and preferring a non‑traditional commitment.
When Porsha Williams met Cynthia Bailey's boyfriend LePrince, aka "Amsterdam," on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17, she didn't hesitate to share her honest first impressions of their relationship.
Upon arriving at Cynthia's home for a get-together in Episode 10, Porsha couldn't hold back her excitement as introductions were made. "Who is this man up in here? Well, hello!" she exclaimed. "It's so nice to meet you, oh my God!" Porsha then playfully demanded that Cynthia stand next to her man so that she could see the two of them together, and the normally private couple even shared a quick kiss in front of her and the rest of the ladies who were present.
"This girl is so happy and glowing," Porsha declared in a confessional. "I have never, ever seen all of Cynthia's teeth like this."
Back at the house, Porsha added, "Cynthia is in love, honey!" When the ladies asked LePrince if he was also "in love" with Cynthia, the 39-year-old musician didn't hesitate to answer, "Hell yes! That isn't even a question."
With that, LePrince gave the ladies a quick lesson in Dutch, said it was nice to meet them all, and left the castmates to spill the tea on the latest group drama amongst themselves. "I love that Prince knows how to read the room because we all know it never works out when we have a man being all up in the women's business," Cynthia told a producer.
That wasn't all Cynthia had to say about her Amsterdam-based boyfriend in the confessional setup. "By the grace of God, Prince and I have been dating almost two years now," she shared. "What I love about our long-distance relationship is when he's gone, he's gone. But when he's back, he's back. So, it works for us."
Previously during BravoCon 2025 in November, Cynthia opened up more about how she and LePrince navigate their romance while he's overseas and she's in the ATL. "He lives in Amsterdam most of the time, but when he's not in Amsterdam, you best believe he's at Lake Bailey," she explained during the Viva Las Atlanta Peaches panel in Las Vegas. "And let me just say...[he's] very much enjoying swimming in the cool waters of Lake Bailey."
When a producer asked during the June7 episode what happens when she "gets that urge" during their times apart, Cynthia quipped, "What do you think FaceTime is for?"
As for her reaction to LePrince professing his love during his RHOA cameo, Cynthia further commented, "I'm not surprised that he loves me. I'm just surprised that he said it in front of the ladies."
The Georgia peaches are back, as The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 is officially underway, with new episodes airing Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo and streaming the next day on Peacock.
The returning RHOA Season 17 cast members include Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, Drew Sidora, Shamea Morton Mwangi, Angela Oakley, and Kelli Ferrell, along with newcomers Pinky Cole and K. Michelle. The women are joined by friend Cynthia Bailey.
Things get spicy in the ATL, as Porsha juggles two potential new love interests. Viewers can also expect changes in friendships, major relationship news, tea spilling, and shade throwing.
During the same aforementioned BravoCon panel, Cynthia spilled even more on what she described as her "pretty big age-gap relationship" with LePrince, noting their 19-year age difference.
Porsha, for one, was stunned to hear Cynthia reveal that she did not want to marry LePrince. "I would never get legally married again, no," she doubled down. "I'm fine to do a friend contract ... but I don't see myself legally getting married again."
As Cynthia, who's been divorced twice, elaborated, "If I have to go in front of a judge to get out of it, [if] it's not working out, I'm at a point in my life, at this age, I just want peace. I choose peace. And if it's just not working, we just need to call it."

Big Tigger’s Wife Cryptically Accuses Him of Assaulting Her

Atlanta radio personality Darian Morgan, aka “Big Tigger,” allegedly assaulted his wife after she confronted him about his alleged infidelity.
Tigger’s longtime partner, Alicia Brown, broke down in tears while displaying her facial injuries in a now-deleted video. She suffered a black eye, bruising and facial lacerations.
While she didn’t accuse Tigger directly, she wrote a comment that read: “Someone ask my husband why my face happened?”
She also wrote in response to another IG user: “he is my husband actually and he asked me to respond to you. Yes we are getting a divorce over his relationship with Francesca but it was not your place to tell everyone. However do thank you for confirming what I already knew!”

She also wrote in response to another IG user: “he is my husband actually and he asked me to respond to you. Yes we are getting a divorce over his relationship with Francesca but it was not your place to tell everyone. However do thank you for confirming what I already knew!”
Allegedly, Big Tigger is having an extramarital affair with Francesca Amiker, his co-host on “The Big Tigger Morning Show.” Francesca, a 4X Emmy Award-winner, recently joined Tigger’s morning show that airs weekdays from 6-10am ET on V-103 (WVEE).
Francesca, 36, has since addressed the cheating allegations, saying, “When you hear a rumor about you that’s so untrue you genuinely don’t even know how to defend yourself.”
Tigger, 53, and Alicia have a son who was born in early 2025. Tigger cried tears of joy when his son was born because they struggled for years to conceive a child.
An insider told The Shade Room:
“Francesca is in shock right now. Nearly two decades of building herself up in this industry, gaining respect from her peers, advocating for Black women, winning four Emmys because of her advocacy in her community, all for it to be ruined because someone she has never met tagged her in horrific imagery. Francesca has never been a part of a toxic situation and doesn’t plan to begin now. As a respected Journalist in this industry, she knows exactly how exciting it is to read salacious rumors and headlines. Her involvement in any of this couldn’t be farther from the truth. She never thought leaving E! News in Los Angeles and accepting a job at her new radio station would lead to this.”
Tigger began his career doing voiceovers for Black Entertainment Television (BET) in 1996. In 1997 he was promoted to Rap City’s “Hip Hop News,” and he advanced to become the co-host of Rap City in its tenth season, alongside Big Lez and Joe Clair.
In January 2013, Tigger took over the afternoon drive time show on V-103 in Atlanta. He currently co-hosts the morning drive time show on V-103 since August 2020.
Tigger also works as the resident DJ at Atlanta Falcons games & the PA announcer at Atlanta Hawks games.
Taylor Lautner and Wife Taylor Lautner Reveal Baby’s Gender

Actor Taylor Lautner, best known for playing Jacob Black in the “Twilight” film franchise, is expecting his first child with wife Taylor “Tay” Lautner.
Taylor, 34, and Tay, 29, began dating in 2018. They announced their engagement in November 2021 and they tied the knot in November 2022.
In March 2026, the happy couple announced they were expecting their first child.
On Sunday, June 7, the couple revealed their unborn baby’s gender in an emotional Instagram video.
“Our little secret is now yours,” they captioned the joint post. The couple sat on a couch while viewing a laptop. After clicking through prompts on the screen, Taylor threw his arms in the air and whooped, while Tay covered her mouth. Text on the screen read “girl”.
The 2 Taylors hugged each other and cried tears of joy. “We did it,” he said. Their followers congratulated them. Fans are wagering that they will name their daughter “Taylor” after themselves.
Taylor has a thing for women named Taylor. He dated pop superstar Taylor Swift for several months in 2009. The 2 Taylors graced the cover of every magazine and supermarket tabloid. The paparazzi couldn’t get enough of them.

Taylor Lautner was on the stage with Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when she won the Best Female Video award for “You Belong With Me.”
Kanye West stormed the stage and interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. He snatched the mic out of her hand and said, “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best video’s of all time!” Ye was referring to Beyoncé’s 2008 music video for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”
Who could forget the death stare that Taylor Lautner gave Kanye that night when Ye left the stage? Rumor has it that Taylor Swift dumped Taylor Lautner because he didn’t step in and check Kanye for interrupting her.

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have parted ways after being together for close to three years, E! News reports. The couple’s romance began after meeting on the set of the musical film Wicked in 2022, with their relationship starting the next summer.
People also confirms the split, noting that the breakup was amicable and took place several months ago. Instyle adds that despite the end of their romantic involvement, Grande and Slater remain friends and continue to support one another. The couple had gradually stepped back from public appearances before their separation but maintained mutual respect throughout.
On social media, Ariana Grande shared a heartfelt tribute to Ethan around the conclusion of his off-Broadway show Marcel on the Train, reflecting ongoing goodwill between them. Her posts have shown continued encouragement for his work, suggesting a positive post-breakup dynamic.
Ariana Grande is best known for her role as Cat Valentine in the TV series Victorious, as well as her successful music career with multiple Grammy nominations. She has appeared in a variety of film and television projects, including Sam & Cat and Hairspray Live!, and is currently focused on her Eternal Sunshine Tour and the release of her upcoming album petal.
This development marks a significant personal shift for both stars, who have kept much of their relationship private since it was first revealed in 2023. With Ariana Grande concentrating on her music and touring, and Ethan continuing his theatrical career, their ability to maintain a supportive friendship highlights their maturity amid public scrutiny

Talay Riley, Songwriter for Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, and Khalid, Dead at 35
The music industry is mourning the loss of Talay Riley, the British singer-songwriter and hitmaker whose credits stretched across pop, R&B, EDM, and hip-hop. Riley, born Mark Orabiyi, died on June 5 after a stabbing in east London. He was 35 years old. Though some fans knew him as the artist behind the 2010 single “Make You Mine,” Riley’s biggest impact came behind the scenes, where he helped shape songs for some of the biggest names in contemporary music.
According to the BBC, Orabiyi was found with stab wounds in a garden on Rayleigh Road in Silvertown shortly after 9 a.m. local time. He was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police said a second victim, a man in his 20s, sustained multiple stab wounds but is expected to survive. Three people were arrested in connection with the investigation. A 27-year-old man was later released on bail pending further inquiries, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were released without further action.
Riley’s songwriting résumé reads like a playlist of the last decade’s biggest hits. His credits included Dua Lipa’s “Last Dance” and “Hotter Than Hell,” Khalid’s breakthrough anthem “Young Dumb & Broke,” Britney Spears’s “Clumsy,” and “Who Do You Love” by The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer.
He also contributed to songs for artists including Chris Brown, Nick Jonas, Kehlani, H.E.R., Zendaya, and Jason Derulo.
Before becoming a sought-after songwriter, Riley emerged from the UK music scene as a teenager. He signed a major publishing deal at 18 and first gained national attention through his work with Chipmunk, contributing to tracks including the chart-topping “Oopsy Daisy.”
He later signed with Jive/Sony Records and toured alongside artists such as Usher and Trey Songz.
Investigators are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack. Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke of the Metropolitan Police said the investigation remains active and urged anyone with CCTV or footage from the area to come forward.
“Our investigation continues at pace,” Yorke said, adding that police are particularly interested in evidence from the morning of the incident.
Laverne Cox Explains Why She Split From Her 'MAGA Republican' NYPD Ex

Laverne Cox’s love life became daytime-TV fodder on Monday, June 8, when The View co-hosts pressed the Emmy-nominated actress about a headline-making relationship with a “blonde-haired, blue-eyed, MAGA Republican” NYPD officer. The exchange, led by conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin, arrived just as Cox began the media blitz for her memoir Transcendent and immediately reignited debate over dating across deep political divides.
Griffin asked whether Cox felt blindsided by the backlash that followed her Instagram revelation last summer. Cox replied that she “didn’t plan to fall in love,” adding that the officer “treated me better than anyone I’d dated up to that point”—until his “politics and his unexamined life became clear.”
She explained that the couple initially kept their opposing views compartmentalized, but ultimately, “people show you who they are,” and staying together “betrayed” her own values.
“Fascism is not consistent with my values,” Cox told the table, stressing that she never adopted her ex’s politics, and that the failure to see eye-to-eye on fundamental issues contributed to their breakup. “I love him, but I love myself more.”
The actor also revealed new details about their meeting: they met on Tinder in 2020, he initially lied about his job, and their four-year relationship ended when ideological gaps became impossible to ignore.
However, she still has not revealed his name.
The renewed scrutiny traces back to last July, when Cox first mentioned the romance online while previewing Gurrl. The revelation drew sharp criticism from some LGBTQ supporters who viewed the MAGA label—and the NYPD badge—as incompatible with trans rights.
Before that, Cox’s public dating history included filmmaker Jono Freedrix (2016) and record-label CEO Kyle Draper (2017–2019).
The NYPD relationship began months after Draper and spanned the pandemic, with Cox confirming it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in early 2021 before quietly announcing a split on The Viall Files last spring.

Jason Momoa Exits Sony’s ‘Helldivers’ Film
Jason Momoa will no longer be in the Helldivers film. The 46-year-old DC star has exited the project, which is an adaptation of the bestselling game franchise from Arrowhead Game Studios.
According to The Wrap, the movie is still on track for production, with Justin Lin attached to direct. It is currently slated for a November 10, 2027 theatrical release courtesy of Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions.
According to the official synopsis, Helldivers 2 is “a hugely popular game built on teamwork, camaraderie, humor and exhilarating action. The story centers on an elite unit of soldiers — known as Helldivers — who must battle alien creatures threatening to destroy the fictional planet of Super Earth.”
No reason has been listed as to why Jason exited the project, but Sony is in search of a new star.
Jason has several big projects coming up, though most of them have already finished filming, like this year’s Dune: Part Three and Supergirl. He’s also going to be part of the new Street Fighter movie and is returning for the Minecraft Movie sequel.
The Game of Thrones alum will also star in action-comedy film Protecting Jared, also starring Andy Samberg, for Netflix.
Back in March, Jason revealed some scary news about his home in Hawaii.

Fans were left stunned after Michael Jackson's brother, Marlon Jackson, suffered an unexpected fall during a recent performance with The Jacksons. The music icon, who is 69 years old, was performing alongside his brother Jackie Jackson during the Wichita River Festival when what began as a high-energy performance suddenly took an alarming turn.
Video shared online captured Marlon hyping up the crowd during a performance of Michael Jackson's hit "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" before unexpectedly plunging headfirst onto the stage. As stunned band members looked on, one shocked fan could be heard yelling, "Oh sh-t!" in the crowd. The scary moment quickly made the rounds online, with fans expressing concern for the singer after seeing the sudden tumble.
Though the performance appeared to briefly lose momentum after the incident, Marlon and Jackie have continued performing as part of The Jacksons' latest tour, bringing decades of music history to audiences around the world. The group, once led by Michael Jackson, now consists of surviving original members Marlon and Jackie as they continue honoring the family's legendary musical legacy.
As clips of the incident spread online, fans quickly flooded the comments section with a mix of concern, jokes, and disbelief over Marlon's sudden tumble. Some viewers couldn't help but reference Michael Jackson while reacting to the awkward moment. "The Ghost of MJ wasn't having it..!!" one person commented, while another joked, "That's Michael saying stop doing my songs!"
Others were more focused on Marlon's well-being, especially given his age. "I hope he's okay. It's not good for older folk to fall at all," one concerned fan wrote.
Meanwhile, others tried to inject humor into the viral mishap. "He wanted to be stumbling something 👀," one person joked, while another added, "I hate when they quit recording. I wanna see the aftermath." One commenter even referenced the Jackson family patriarch, writing, "This [is] why Joe was always whopping his a-s for always missing steps."
Despite the online chatter, many fans appeared relieved that Marlon seemingly recovered quickly enough to continue the show.
Long before becoming the King of Pop, Michael Jackson first found fame alongside his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon in the Jackson 5. After releasing their debut single "Big Boy," the family group opened for legendary acts including James Brown, Gladys Knight & The Pips, and Sam & Dave.
Their career skyrocketed after Motown founder Berry Gordy signed the group in 1969, leading to major success with Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 soon became household names thanks to chart-topping hits like "I Want You Back," "ABC," and "I'll Be There," while also launching the animated Saturday morning series "The Jackson 5ive."

Jordan Peele Declined ‘Scary Movie’ Cameo Over ‘Get Out’ Spoof

*Marlon Wayans says a conversation about parodying “Get Out” in the new “Scary Movie” took an unexpected turn once Jordan Peele learned how the film planned to use the hit horror title.
Wayans explained that he told Peele that the work would appear in the latest installment of the franchise, which prompted a brief but telling exchange. Peele acknowledged the idea but quickly declined an invitation to appear in the film.
“He was like ‘Oh, cool,’” Wayans told The Hollywood Reporter. “I was like, ‘You want to be in it?’ He said, ‘Nah.’ I was like, ‘Alright, not that cool.’”
The interaction reflects a broader approach the franchise has always taken toward parody. Wayans noted that the creative team does not typically seek permission when referencing films, instead focusing on whether the humor connects with audiences.
“You don’t ask for permission, you just kind of do it and hope they enjoy it,” he said. “And if not they’ll never cast you in one of their movies, and that’s OK.”
He also pushed back on the idea that parodying a film signals disrespect. For him and his collaborators, the intention has always centered on admiration through comedy.
“They know that for us, mockery is the greatest form of flattery,” he said. “The fact that we can do that and make the world smile with the stuff that they did, I’m grateful that they keep making great art.”
Directed by Michael Tiddes, the latest “Scary Movie” brings the franchise back under the control of its original creative team. Marlon and Shawn Wayans star alongside returning cast members Anna Faris and Regina Hall.
The script comes from a family collaboration, with Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans writing alongside Craig Wayans and Rick Alvarez. The film expands its parody targets beyond “Get Out,” also spoofing titles including “Scream V,” “Scream VI,” “The Substance,” and “Longlegs.”
The Wayans brothers launched the franchise in 2000 and returned for its sequel the following year. After years away following a studio split, they now reclaim the series with this new installment.
“Scary Movie 6” is in theaters now.

Druski’s D.C. Auditions Turned Into A Viral Stampede Before Anyone Even Hit The Stage
Druski turned a Sunday audition into a full-blown D.C. scene when fans and hopeful performers lined up in Northeast for a shot at his viral Coulda Been Records platform.
The D.C auditions were set for District Studios at 1301 W Street NE, with WUSA9 reporting that Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, announced the D.C. stop through a social media graphic ahead of the event.
From there, the DMV did what the DMV does. Local reports and social clips showed massive lines outside as people waited for their chance to audition, with FOX 5 DC and other local posts describing thousands of fans packed in Northeast for the Coulda Been Records opportunity.
The turnout says a lot about how far Druski has pushed the joke. Coulda Been Records started as comedy, built around his fake label boss persona and chaotic talent-show style auditions. Still, somewhere between the roasting, the reactions, and the viral clips, people started treating the platform like a real shot at visibility. That tension is exactly why the format works. Everybody knows it is entertainment, but nobody wants to be the person who misses their moment.
And D.C. clearly came ready. WUSA9 reported that the event spotlighted DMV talent and brought artists together in the city, while noting that performers lined up early despite short notice.
Now the question is whether D.C. gave Druski another viral episode or forced him to admit the city has more stars than slots. Either way, Northeast looked less like a casual casting call and more like proof that Coulda Been Records has become bigger than the punchline.
