#RHOA: Who Is Porsha Williams' "Friend-Friend" Mike? Meet Her New Love Interest on RHOA
Even though Porsha Williams was "nervous" to introduce her new love interest, Michael "Mike" Anthony, to her castmates during The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Season 17 premiere, she invited him to her couples dinner party anyway.
Prior to the Mystic Island-themed dinner, newcomer K. Michelle asked if Porsha planned to bring her ex Dennis McKinley, but she revealed that she didn't want him to know about her new "situationship" just yet.
"I do feel like I'm ready to start dating," Porsa shared in a confessional. "I do feel like I deserve to be admired. I deserve to be courted. I deserve to be treated special. I got a little friend-friend, and why should I sit in the house and be bored?"
Later, she admitted, "I am a little nervous. I mean, I have not introduced anybody to these girls since Dennis. They didn't even meet my last husband. So, this is a big deal for me."
In his Instagram bio, Porsha's "friend-friend" Mike, who is known professionally as Michael Anthony, describes himself as a producer, writer, and actor. His website further reveals that he previously served in the U.S. Special Forces, before going on to spend 16 years in the music industry as a writer and producer.

After telling Mike that he looked "handsome" upon his arrival at her dinner party, Porsha introduced him to several of her castmates, including K. Michelle, Angela Oakley, and Cynthia Bailey. While shaking the women's hands, Mike told K. Michelle he was a "big fan," before Porsha left the ladies to "grill" her new man.
Later, Porsha and Mike sat at the head of the dinner table, and she admitted that she was "still nervous" around him. He said that he considered that to be "a good thing," prompting Angela to question if there was "a serious relationship brewing in front of [their] eyes."
Just as Porsha offered to give Mike the opportunity to fill the group in on their relationship status, her sister, Lauren Williams, chimed in, "Can you give us the timeline?"
A seemingly stunned Porsha answered, "Wow. OK, we can start with where we met. So, it was after [the] pandemic. Um, and we talked and stuff, but we didn't really turn it into anything. We just decided, like, to keep it cool."
Porsha went on to add, "I ain't gonna lie: I threw out a thirst trap, and I knew it was gonna catch."
The Georgia peaches are back, as The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 is officially underway, with new episodes airing Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo and streaming the next day on Peacock.
The returning RHOA Season 17 cast members include Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, Drew Sidora, Shamea Morton Mwangi, Angela Oakley, and Kelli Ferrell, along with newcomers Pinky Cole and K. Michelle. The women are joined by friend Cynthia Bailey.
Things get spicy in the ATL, as Porsha juggles two potential new love interests. Viewers can also expect changes in friendships, major relationship news, tea spilling, and shade throwing.
Lauren, meanwhile, pointed out that there was "an altar right behind" them, and Porsha suggested that she and Mike see how they might look exchanging vows.
Castmate Kelli Ferrell even stood in as their officiant, while K. Michelle shouted out some fake vows from the dinner table. At one point, Mike even began to get down on one knee as if he was going to propose to Porsha, but stopped short, eliciting laughter from the group.
"I'm about to get married, y'all," Porsha joked in a confessional, before admitting that it was "weird" they were in the home that she previously shared with ex-husband Simon Guobadia.
Prior to the Season 17 premiere, Porsha announced that she was dating a man and a woman, a fact that was also confirmed in the RHOA trailer. Meanwhile, previews already teased that Porsha's second love interest, Patrice "Sway" McKinney, will make her debut in Episode 2.
Though you'll have to stay tuned to find out what happens between Porsha and Mike, the RHOA 'Wife has since revealed that she is in an exclusive relationship with Sway.

#HipHopNews: 2 Chainz Says Woman Attempted To Run Him Off The Road In Bizarre Encounter
2 Chainz recently found himself in a bizarre situation after a woman allegedly attempted to drive him off the road.
In a video shared on Instagram, the woman can be heard claiming the Atlanta rapper owes her father money, which she suggested was the reason for her aggressive behavior. Chainz posted the clip with a caption asking if anyone recognized the woman.
“Who J a** daughter this is trying to drive me off the road. Talking about I owe her daddy some money in Albany and throwing my son name around. About put fy on her and her daddy.”
In the footage, the woman appears visibly upset, repeatedly throwing up her middle finger and, at one point, sticking her foot out of the car while yelling toward the I’m Different rapper.
Despite the unusual encounter, 2 Chainz has been staying busy as he prepares for the second leg of Lil Wayne’s upcoming tour. The run is scheduled to kick off June 30 in Bangor, Maine, before wrapping up October 23 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Ahead of the tour, Chainz has also been promoting his debut book, The Voice In Your Head Is God, as he continues expanding his career beyond music.
“That voice in your head isn’t madness, it’s guidance. It’s GOD! Every time you hear that whisper, know it’s a higher power speaking through you. 2 years ago, I listened to that voice and began writing. Today, I’m finally ready to share my very first book with you.”

Brandy is adamant that she will never share the final note her late mentor and “North Star” Whitney Houston gave her before her sudden death in 2012.
The multihyphenate performer, 47, opens up in her new memoir, Phases, which was released on Tuesday, March 31, about the famed note Houston slipped her the day before the “I Will Always Love You” singer’s untimely death at 48.
Brandy and Houston met at the 1995 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Brandy was a big fan, and she writes in the book that she was so nervous when they were introduced that she screamed and ran in the opposite direction. After that, they began calling each other pretty regularly, and a mentee-mentor bond formed.
“When it comes to the note,” Brandy writes, “I feel the world’s longing to know what Whitney wrote to me. I know that people weave their own stories from my silence. But I hope you can understand — after giving so much of ourselves to the world, I want to keep some small piece of our bond untouched by the world.”
Before receiving the note in 2012, Brandy was rehearsing with Monica, as the two were gearing up to perform “The Boy Is Mine” at a pre-Grammys gala hosted by legendary music exec Clive Davis.
As the duo were meeting their band for the night and preparing for press interviews, Houston appeared out of nowhere, with damp clothes clinging to her, “evidence of an impulsive swim,” Brandy writes. “She moved with the unpredictable rhythm of someone no longer tethered to the room.”
Brandy recalls Houston calling out to her, “Baby girl! Baby girl!”
“I had to come see my babies! Y’all are gonna kill it,” she continued.
Houston watched as Monica, now 45, and Brandy did a quick run-through of “The Boy Is Mine” while she gave them a thumbs-up in the wings. Houston returned an hour later with her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. They waited as Brandy and Monica finished interviews, with Brandy remembering in her memoir, “Whitney appeared to be under the influence, and it was tough to be in a room crawling with strangers whispering and judging her.” She writes that she felt “Whitney was becoming the story.”
After Brandy and Monica’s interviews were completed, Houston walked over to her Cinderella costar and whispered, “This is for you,” handing her the now-infamous note and planting a kiss on her cheek. Later that night, Brandy called Houston, and she writes about how emotional it was and how she saw “flashes of the old Whitney” in the advice she gave, her laughter and how she returned every topic “back to faith.” She spoke of “getting back in the studio, of redemption waiting just around the corner with Sparkle.”
Of that final conversation with Houston, Brandy writes, “I’m gonna be better,’ she promised as our call wound down, and in that moment, I believed her with every fiber of my being. ‘You’ll see. This is just a season, not the whole story.”
Houston died the next day, February 11, 2012, on Brandy’s 33rd birthday. She accidentally drowned in her hotel bathtub while under the influence of cocaine and other drugs.
#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Soars to Gigantic $190M U.S. Opening, $372M Globally
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson's edgy 'The Drama' wins over naysayers, while Ryan Gosling's sleeper hit 'Project Hail Mary' rocketed past the $200 million mark domestically in the latest milestone for the sci-fi epic.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is contributing in a major way to the much-needed spring bloom at the box office, where the family friendly tentpole opened to an estimated $372.5 million globally, the biggest showing since James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash unfurled in theaters over Christmas 2025. And it is by far the top opening of 2026 so far among Hollywood titles.
The sequel opened to an estimated $190.1 million domestically over the five-day Easter corridor, including a three-day weekend gross of $130.9 million. Overseas, Galaxy blasted off with an estimated $182.4 million from 80 markets.
Hitting theaters over the Easter corridor in 2023, the first Mario Bros. Movie posted a five-day domestic debut of $204 million, including a three-day weekend haul of $147 million, one of the best showings of all time for a holiday. Galaxy also joins the upper reaches of that list.
Super Mario Galaxy achieved a number of other milestones, including delivering the year’s biggest three-day opening not only in North America, but overseas and globally (a record held briefly by sleeper hit Project Hail Mary).
Global achievements include scoring the the fifth-biggest opening ever for an animated title, and the fourth-biggest for a Hollywood studio release behind Zootopia 2, Moana 2 and Super Mario, not adjusted for inflation; it is the only animated franchise based on a video game to have two titles open to north of $350 million. And it is Universal’s fifth-biggest opening of all time (an elite group that obviously includes the first Mario.)
Among its domestic achievements: Super Mario Galaxy scored the third-highest grossing weekend for a video game adaptation behind A Minecraft Movie and Super Mario; it is the only animated franchise to have two titles open to more than $100 million over a three-day weekend besides Shrek, Toy Story and Minions; and it delivered the biggest five-day domestic launch since Disney’s Moana 2.
“Our opening frame for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a powerful result for an iconic franchise and a terrific outcome for the marketplace. Audience reaction scores are pointing to a very long, successful run at the domestic box office,” says Universal domestic distribution president Jim Orr, noting the Meldandri’s extraordinary track record as founder and head of Illumination, also home of Minions.
Super Mario Galaxy was graced with an A- CinemaScore from audiences despite being snubbed by many critics. The 2023 pic received an A and quickly became a box office sensation on its way to topping out at $1.36 billion globally and delivering a marquee new franchise.
Illumination, which has an exclusive financing and partnership with Universal, partnered with Nintendo in bringing the adaptation of the family-friendly video game to the big screen. The follow-up tells the story of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach once again taking on the evil Bowser (this time along with his son, Bowser Jr.) in an adventure that spans the galaxy and introduces new characters, including Princess Rosalina and Nintendo icon Yoshi.
Amazon MGM’s Project Hail Mary, now in its third weekend, is continuing to do remarkable business despite losing Imax and premium-large formats to Super Mario Galaxy. The Ryan Gosling-led epic celebrated not just one, but two milestones over Easter weekend when crossing the $400 million mark at the global box office and the $200 million mark domestically.
Coming in second domestically, the Ryan Gosling-led blockbuster fell only 43 percent in its third outing to $30.6 million from 3,902 cinemas to finish Easter Sunday with a North American cume of $217.2 million.
Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s edgy The Drama — definitely not an Easter offering for families — is reporting a third-place finish with an estimated $14.1 million from 3,097 locations. On Sunday, some rivals thought the A24 title would come in closer to $13 million. The movie received a so-so B CinemaScore, but sports a solid 81 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Pixar and Disney’s Hoppers stayed in the top five in its fifth weekend to finish Sunday with a pleasing domestic tally of $149.6 million and $182.6 million overseas for a global of $323.2 million. Animation dominated the top-10 chart overall when factoring in Sony Pictures Animation’s GOAT, which likewise had reason to celebrate after shooting the ball past the $100 million mark domestically for a global total of $185.2 million.

Chris Rock and New Girlfriend Share Kiss In First PDA Moment

The comedian previously declared himself single during his 2023 Netflix special. Now he’s been spotted with Simone Henault. According to People, the couple was first photographed leaving upscale Santa Monica hotspot Giorgio Baldi in March. Not long after, they were seen holding hands and locking lips in SoHo, New York City.
She’s a PR and communications grad who built her career at power houses like The Fader, Cornerstone Agency, and Google. At the tech giant, she worked as a creative producer on the Waze team until 2025. Earlier this year, she stepped out on her own, announcing a new venture focused on connecting artists, brands, and cultural communities through music, fashion, wellness, and live experiences.
Henault is also gets busy on the turntables. She has DJ’d at Soho House and Shoreditch House events and curates her own “Monafide Soul Series” Spotify playlists.
This marks the first time Chris Rock has been publicly linked to anyone since his split from actress Lake Bell and, before that, his 2016 divorce from Malaak Compton-Rock after nearly 20 years of marriage.
Neither Chris nor Simone has spoken publicly about the relationship — but those SoHo kisses said plenty.

Jake Paul Considering Blackface In Response To Druski Comedy Sketch
Jake Paul is facing backlash after revealing he wants to use blackface in a comedy response to Druski.
Jake Paul is never too far from controversy these days, but now he’s about to put his jaw in the crosshairs of every Black fighter.
This is the third rail of culture and his name is “Spit.” You gotta be of a certain age to know this reference. Even Jake’s most loyal supporters are finding his moves difficult to defend. The YouTuber turned boxer recently floated the idea of responding to Druski’s viral comedy skits in the most ill-advised way possible.
During a recent appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, Jake revealed he had been seriously considering a parody response that would involve blackface. Yes, you read that right. According to The Jakester, he had already started making calls to makeup artists.
“I’ve been, over the last couple of days, calling makeup artists,” he admitted. “I was going to do a response to this and do the full-on…”
When Von asked, “Darker?” Paul confirmed with a simple, “Yeah,” suggesting he was ready to fully commit to the bit. I watched this a couple times and it seems like he’s not going to try this bone-headed move. Watch below.
Now, if you know anything about American cultural history, you already know why this idea is radioactive. Blackface is not just edgy comedy. It carries a deeply painful legacy tied to minstrel shows and racist caricatures that most entertainers with even a basic PR instinct know to avoid. Theo Von even seemed to understand the minefield, suggesting that if Paul were to even attempt something like this, he might need to partner with a respected Black entertainer to soften the blow. Jake wasn’t feeling that idea at all.
“That’s p#ssying out,” Paul said. “Doesn’t that make us more prejudiced if we have to partner with someone? Druski just dropped this. I f#cking love it. This is great. This is how humans should be. We should f###ing make fun of each other. And I don’t see in color. I see in truth and comedy. So what are we talking about? What era are we living in?”
“I don’t see color.”
The discussion also touched on past blackface controversies involving public figures like Justin Trudeau and Jimmy Kimmel. I mean, this just does not end well. Jake with the Cake even joked that a photo of Kimmel in blackface looked like Shaquille O’Neal, which only added another layer of awkwardness to the conversation. Read the room, bro
As of now, Druski has not responded and I do not think he will. He has not responded to any of it. And it does not appear that Jake has moved forward with the idea. Controversy is still currency and he’s got our attention. Mission accomplished.
Since Jake Paul is not reading books, below is a history lesson. 👀
HISTORY LESSON
Blackface in American entertainment dates back to the early 19th century, when white performers darkened their skin with burnt cork or greasepaint to portray exaggerated, racist stereotypes of Black people in minstrel shows. These performances, which became wildly popular in the 1830s and 1840s, depicted Black Americans as lazy, unintelligent, overly joyful, or dangerous, reinforcing harmful narratives during and after slavery. One of the most famous early examples was Thomas D. Rice’s “Jim Crow” character, which became so influential that the name later became synonymous with segregation laws. Even as entertainment evolved into vaudeville, early film, and radio, blackface remained common, with white stars using it for comedy well into the early 20th century. Although some Black performers were later allowed into minstrel circuits, they were often forced to wear blackface themselves to conform to the degrading expectations of white audiences. By the mid-20th century, growing civil rights awareness began pushing blackface out of mainstream entertainment, but its legacy remains a painful reminder of how racism was once normalized as popular amusement.

By the mid-20th century, growing civil rights awareness began pushing blackface out of mainstream entertainment, but its legacy remains a painful reminder of how racism was once normalized as popular amusement.
Angel Reese Traded to Atlanta Dream in Blockbuster WNBA Deal

The Chicago Sky is moving on from one of the WNBA’s biggest young stars. On Monday, April 6, the franchise traded Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, along with 2028 second-round swap rights.
According to ESPN, the deal immediately reshapes both teams. Atlanta adds one of the league’s most productive frontcourt players to a roster that already includes Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard, while Chicago begins a deeper rebuild after a difficult 2025 season that ended with a 10-34 record and a second straight year out of the playoffs.
“Angel is a dynamic talent and a perfect fit for what we are building in Atlanta,” Dream general manager Dan Padover says in a statement. “She has already proven herself as one of the most impactful players in the league, and her competitiveness, production, and drive to win align seamlessly with our vision.”
At just 23, Reese has already left Chicago with a résumé few players have matched so early in their careers. She defended her rebounding title last season by averaging 12.6 rebounds per game and became the first player in WNBA history to average at least 12 rebounds in consecutive seasons.
Reese also led the Sky in scoring and assists, posting 14.7 points and 3.7 assists per game while recording a league-best 23 double-doubles.
Since entering the WNBA in 2024 after leading LSU to a national championship, Reese has been linked to some of the league’s most talked-about moments, particularly involving Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.
Their rivalry began during the 2023 NCAA championship game and followed both players into the pros, where physical matchups between the Sky and Fever routinely became headline material.
Most recently, Clark and Reese made news again during Team USA’s FIBA World Cup qualifying games after a viral clip appeared to show Clark brushing past Reese during a high-five attempt.
Now Reese gets a fresh start away from Chicago—and perhaps away from some of the noise that surrounded her there.
“I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to join the Atlanta Dream organization,” Reese says. “I’m focused on continuing to grow my game, competing at the highest level, connecting with the fans, and giving everything I’ve got to the Dream.”

Rihanna And A$AP Rocky Impress In Coordinated Leather Outfits For Date Night
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were spotted enjoying a stylish date night in Hollywood this past Sunday, showcasing their flair for coordinated fashion. The couple opted for striking all-black ensembles that perfectly complemented each other while keeping their looks understated yet edgy.
Rihanna wore a sleek knee-length black skirt featuring a bold slit tied at her left thigh, resembling a wrapped fabric design. She paired this with thigh-high leather boots that added a daring touch to her outfit. To stay warm, she chose a buttery leather bomber jacket by Willy Chavarria, which matched her entire look seamlessly. Dark oversized sunglasses completed her chic appearance.
A$AP Rocky mirrored the leather theme with medium wash jeans, a simple black T-shirt, and a luxurious Saint Laurent leather bomber jacket priced at $7,200. Their coordinated approach to leather outerwear demonstrated their signature couple’s style with ease and sophistication.
This isn’t the first time the stylish pair have embraced matching looks. Last fall, they were seen in similar coordinated outfits, although they opted for longer “Matrix”-inspired coats instead of leather bombers. In the weeks prior, the duo also chose matching fur attire for a romantic date night in Paris, further cementing their reputation as one of the most stylish couples in the public eye.
Whether dressed in leather or fur, it’s clear that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky know how to synchronize their outfits flawlessly, turning heads wherever they go. Their recent Hollywood outing only reinforces their status as a fashion-forward duo who expertly blend edgy trends with classic coordination.

The actress Gabrielle Union is facing a deeply personal loss after the death of her father, Sylvester Union Jr., known to family and friends as Cully. She shared the news in an emotional social media post over the weekend, marking the end of a long and difficult journey shaped by Dementia.
Her message arrived alongside a video montage that captured decades of family life. The images traced a steady arc from earlier years filled with laughter to more recent moments that reflected the realities of illness. Scenes included time spent with her husband, Dwyane Wade, and their daughter, offering a glimpse into the closeness that defined the family.
Union’s account of her father’s decline focused on the slow erosion that often accompanies dementia. She described how small lapses gave way to more severe changes, altering the man she had always known. Her words conveyed a sense of watching someone fade in increments rather than all at once.
For Union, the experience extended beyond grief. It became a lesson in endurance and care. Dementia, she noted through her reflections, reshapes relationships over time. It introduces a kind of prolonged mourning, one that begins long before death.
The actress emphasized how moments of recognition became rare but meaningful. A glance, a brief connection, or a subtle gesture carried emotional weight. Those fragments stood in for the personality that once filled every room.
Her father’s passing on April three marked the end of that drawn out chapter. Yet the impact of the illness remained central to her tribute. It shaped how she remembered him and how she chose to share his story.
Despite the hardship, Union’s tribute focused on the life her father lived before illness took hold. She described him as someone who moved easily through the world, forming connections wherever he went. Friends were never in short supply.
His influence extended into her own career and outlook. She credited him with instilling discipline, resilience, and a belief in collective strength. Those values, she suggested, became part of her foundation both on and off screen.
Family also played a defining role. Union highlighted the support she received from her sisters during her father’s final years. Their presence, she noted, helped carry the emotional weight of caregiving and loss.
Medical professionals who assisted in his care were also acknowledged. Their efforts, she indicated, brought comfort during a period marked by uncertainty and decline.
In the hours after her post, messages flooded in from fans and followers. Many shared their own encounters with dementia, drawing parallels between their experiences and Union’s account. The responses reflected a shared understanding of the illness and its emotional toll.
Others offered simple condolences, expressing sympathy for the loss of a parent. The tone across social platforms leaned toward empathy rather than spectacle. It became a space where personal grief met collective recognition.
Union’s story resonated in part because it mirrored a reality many families face. Dementia continues to affect millions, often leaving loved ones to navigate both caregiving and gradual loss.
As Union moves forward, her tribute suggests that memory will remain central to how she honors her father. While the illness altered his final years, it did not define the entirety of his life.
She framed his legacy around connection, strength, and presence. Those qualities, she indicated, continue to shape her perspective even in his absence.
Her message also extended outward. It acknowledged others who are experiencing similar losses, offering a sense of shared understanding. In doing so, Union positioned her grief within a broader human experience.
The response from fans underscores that connection. In moments of loss, stories like hers often serve as reminders that grief, while deeply personal, is rarely faced alone.

UCLA makes history with first NCAA championship win
Cori Close has spent 15 seasons building something at UCLA that people were not sure the program could become. On Sunday afternoon, it became a national champion.
The Bruins dismantled South Carolina 79-51 in the women’s NCAA title game, producing a 28-point margin of victory that ranks as the third-largest in the history of the championship game. UCLA never trailed, opened a double-digit lead after the first quarter and turned the game into a rout in the third with a 25-9 outscoring of the Gamecocks in that period alone, the largest single-quarter margin in championship game history.
The win gave UCLA its first NCAA championship in women’s basketball and denied South Carolina a third title in five seasons under head coach Dawn Staley. The Bruins had previously won a title in 1978 under the AIAW, before the NCAA assumed control of the championship tournament in 1982.
Lauren Betts anchored the effort from the opening possession, as Close had her team attack the basket immediately and feed the 6-foot-7 center in the paint. South Carolina had no reliable counter to Betts’s combination of size and skill near the rim. She finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks on 6-of-10 shooting and was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Gabriela Jaquez, who has played her entire career at UCLA, had perhaps the most complete performance of the night. She finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, making shots, creating for teammates and cleaning the glass with equal effectiveness. All five UCLA starters scored in double figures, and all six of the team’s senior contributors put points on the board.
South Carolina, which ranks fourth in the country in offensive efficiency, shot 29% from the field and 13% from three-point range. The Gamecocks’ lone reliable offensive presence was Tessa Johnson, who finished with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting. The rest of South Carolina’s starters combined to shoot 25.8% from the floor. Agot Makeer added 11 points off the bench as the only other Gamecocks player to shoot 50% or better.
UCLA finished with a 49-37 rebounding advantage and posted a 23-13 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Bruins shot 43% from the field and made 8 of 19 attempts from three-point range.
The title is the product of a decade-long build that accelerated significantly in recent years. UCLA leaned on the transfer portal to reshape its roster, with four of its six top scorers having started their college careers elsewhere, including Betts, who transferred from Stanford. Close said earlier in the week that she plans to add approximately five more transfers to next year’s team.
The program also benefited from leaving the collapsing Pac-12 for the Big Ten, a move that dramatically increased financial resources. UCLA reported roughly $19.9 million in media rights revenue in its final Pac-12 season. Big Ten schools received approximately $60 million each in similar distributions last season. The championship is the first for the Big Ten in women’s basketball since 1999.
Close entered Today as the longest-tenured head coach at a single school to win a first national title, and she did it at a program that made the NCAA Tournament just once in her first four years and has now played in nine of the last 11. Her base salary of $877,500 this season stands well below the $4.25 million Staley earned at South Carolina, a disparity that became a talking point during UCLA’s rise and that Close has addressed publicly.
She has also been an outspoken advocate for greater resources and media coverage for women’s basketball, pushing the NCAA and the sport’s stakeholders toward the kind of investment that produces programs capable of competing at the level the Bruins demonstrated Sunday.
South Carolina entered the game with five players who had previously competed in a national title game. That experience did not prevent UCLA from outplaying the Gamecocks at every phase, extending a run in Phoenix that also included holding Texas 41 points below its season scoring average in Friday’s national semifinal. The Bruins finished the tournament having never trailed in either Final Four game, leaving Phoenix with a championship and a program identity that figures to keep them in these conversations for years to come.

Terry Crews' Wife Rebecca Reveals Parkinson's Diagnosis, Shares Health Update

Terry Crews‘ wife, Rebecca King Crews, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
The couple made an appearance on Today to discuss her diagnosis on Monday (April 6), as well as the current state of her health.
The two have been married for nearly 37 years since July of 1989, and have four daughters and a son, as well as one grandchild.
“I feel good. I’m able to write my name and my dates, and I’m able to write with my right hand for the first time in probably three years,” Rebecca said, revealing that her symptoms began around 2012 – including numbness in her left foot that led to a limp, followed by tremors – leading to a 2015 diagnosis.
“I believe that you don’t lay down and die because you got a diagnosis,” she said, explaining that she’s pursuing a non-invasive surgical procedure, a bilateral focused ultrasound, approved by the FDA in 2025.
The reason she’s decided to “come forward now” is to discuss the procedure that has helped her.
The procedure involves a device called the Exablate Neuro, developed by Insightec, to deliver ultrasound waves to specific areas on both sides of the brain, per Today.
It is considered an “adjunct therapy, meaning it doesn’t replace the need for medication.”
She has had the procedure done on one side of her body, but has noticed her tremor on her right side is gone, improved balance, and reduced need for medication. She’ll get it done on her left side in September.
“Part of the procedure is improved symptoms, so you’re improved on one side (but) not on the other. However, each day that I do things, I’m aware of the benefit that’s already been to me on the one side of the body. So I’m looking forward to doing the left side,” she explained.
Rebecca also endured a double mastectomy after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2020.
Terry Crews reflected on seeing his wife, whom he calls a “superhero,” write her own name again, and he got emotional.
“But to watch her write her name for the first time in three years, let me tell you. I don’t know what to say, I’m choked up just thinking about it,” he said.
“When they say sickness and health, this is the battle that we were designed to fight together. Where she’s weak, I’m strong. Where I’m weak, she’s strong. And we built each other up like that for almost 37 years and all the way to forever,” he went on to say.

Wireless Festival Hit AGAIN After Kanye News Sponsors Keep Dropping
Wireless Festival is losing corporate partners fast. Rockstar Energy and PayPal are the latest big names to pull their support for the 2026 event.
This follows a wave of anger over the decision to have Kanye West headline three nights at Finsbury Park this July.
Rockstar Energy decided to leave on April 6th, becoming the third main sponsor to drop out in less than two days. This follows moves by Pepsi and Diageo to end their partnerships. Diageo released a note on April 5th that said: “We have informed the organisers of our concerns and as it stands, Diageo will not sponsor the 2026 Wireless festival.”
PayPal is also stepping back. Even though they were not a main sponsor, they acted as a payment partner for the festival. Now, the company says its name will not appear on any of the festival’s ads or posters. Reports from the BBC and ITV News state that the company made this choice because of the heavy criticism West has received for his past hateful comments and support for Nazi beliefs.
West has not performed in the UK since 2015. His new booking has caused an uproar from activists, politicians, and charity groups. With three main sponsors and a payment partner now gone, the festival’s leadership is under a lot of heat.
As the July start date gets closer, it is unclear if the festival can keep its current plans. The loss of these companies shows how much pressure is on the event to change its lineup because of the negative attention.
