#MAGFAB: Q Parker For Rolling Out Magazine. The singer evolves romance and R&B

For more than three decades, Q Parker has been a defining voice in R&B, known for his soulful delivery and mastery of romantic ballads. With the release of Evolution of Romance, Volume 1, Parker steps into a new chapter, embracing independence while reflecting on personal growth, family, and the enduring power of love.
In an exclusive conversation with rolling out, Parker shares insights on his creative process, grandparenthood, and his ongoing mission to mentor the next generation.
Congratulations on the new LP. How does it feel to have so many people supporting the new project?
Thank you. It felt amazing. It does not get any better than that. As an artist, we like to have those moments when your peers support you. I always love supporting others, and to be the recipient of that support was really meaningful. Sometimes you do not realize you need something until you actually get it, and receiving that love gave me an extra jolt to continue this romance movement.
Singing feels like oxygen for you, right?
Yes. It is everything to me. It is my coping mechanism and my safe space. Regardless of the emotion I am going through, a song always can depict it in the truest way. I have a happy song in my spirit, a sad song, a stressed song. When you say an artist who lives and breathes music, that is me.
When you’re stressed, what do you sing?
I try not to be stressed, so I do not necessarily sing for stress. It is not a particular song; it is something that comes in my spirit that relieves stress, reduces anxiety, and calms me down. Any given emotion, a melody just mellows me out.

Tell me about the title of the new project.
It is called Evolution of Romance, Volume 1. There are two forms of evolution: myself, Q Parker—when you were introduced to me, I was Q from 112. As an 18-year-old, I have grown and matured. I will be 50 next year, and I am bringing the evolution of Q Parker to this music. Romance has also evolved. Its definition and practice were different in the sixties; that has morphed into 2025. I am a proud product of R&B music. It flows through my veins. I grew up watching soap operas filled with passion, intimacy, affection, and gentle moments. Everything was soft, and I bring that to my version of romance in R&B.
Which soap operas did you watch?
ABC’s All My Children, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless, and NBC’s The Bold and the Beautiful.
How does it feel to be a grandfather of three?
I enjoy it because it allows me to spend real time with them. I would have hated to have grandchildren in my later years when mobility, flexibility, and energy may not be as sharp. I believe in legacy, and what we do today prepares us for tomorrow. My grandchildren call me GP.
Compare having a child to having a grandchild.
Grandparenthood is another opportunity to impact someone’s youthfulness. We all love our grandparents because our only job is to love them, spoil them, and then send them home. There is nothing more fun than spoiling these little energetic beings.
Talk about your foundation.
The Q Parker Legacy Foundation focuses on children and senior citizens. Seniors are the matriarchs and patriarchs of our culture. We bring joy, gifts, and events such as bingo, musical karaoke, and Christmas caroling. With children, we focus on those aspiring to be in the entertainment industry, helping them understand how to navigate the business, pick managers, and monetize their craft.
Your new LP is independent. What was that experience like?
Those label years were training grounds. I always wanted to know what was going on behind the scenes, so I observed meetings, budgets, and decision-making. Now, I incorporate all that into my independent work, running meetings, mentoring, and applying lessons I had to learn myself.

Talk to me about your track “World War.”
I am conscious of what is happening in our world. Sometimes the world is full of separatism, which leads to conflict. The song imagines love so powerful it draws all your focus. If everyone had that love, there would not be any World War.
One of my favorite tracks is “Triple F.”
It is called Triple F: fuck me, feed me, be my fan. It is a voice for men and women. The first verse talks about the actions; the second verse breaks them down. If a woman can master these three things, a man will give her anything she wants. Every man wants love, encouragement, and a number-one cheerleader in his intimate space.
You’ve been married for 23 years. What does your wife do to feed your soul?
She tells me that I am the shit, that I am great, that I am handsome, and she acknowledges my place in the family. That affirmation strengthens my psyche, my spirit, and my confidence.
On the album, you also have a track called “Beg.”
It is about bringing endless gratitude to your partner. My goal every day is to keep your heart warm, keep you smiling, and ensure you are eager to come home to me. Women beg for men too. If both partners do this, it keeps the relationship in the perfect space. When the relationship is strong, the children thrive, the house is harmonious, and the community benefits.
Parker’s career demonstrates how growth, family, and love evolve alongside an artist. Evolution of Romance, Volume 1 blends experience with passion, reflecting the life and lessons of one of R&B’s most enduring voices.

#RHOA: Season 17 Cast Confirmed: Here's Who's Returning — And Who's Not
The cast for RHOA Season 17 is starting to take shape, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta is clearly heading into another reset.
According to Just Jared, several familiar faces are locked in, a few names are out, and there’s a mix of returning veterans and potential new additions waiting in the wings.
On the returning side, Porsha Williams is back as a full-time housewife, continuing her long-running connection to the franchise after multiple exits and returns.
Phaedra Parks is also set to return full-time after rejoining the show in Season 16. Drew Sidora will remain in the mix as a main cast member, alongside Shamea Morton, who continues her run as a full-time housewife after her recent promotion.
Angela Oakley and Kelli Ferrell are both expected back as well, though Ferrell’s role could shift between full-time and “friend of.”
Cynthia Bailey is returning once again in a “friend of” capacity. Speaking about filming, she hinted at ongoing tension, saying, “I got a little bit of smoke… and had to give a little bit of smoke back.”
She also noted that even in a reduced role, she’s “not off limits,” adding that being around the group means “you’re around enough to catch a couple of strays.”
There are also a few names still in flux. Kim Zolciak is reportedly in talks to return as a friend of, while Pinky Cole Hayes, Eudoxie Bridges, Tammy Rivera, and K. Michelle are all rumored to be under consideration for the upcoming season.
Notably, both Tammy Rivera and K. Michelle have ties to Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, aligning with earlier hints that a crossover star could join the cast.
As for who’s out, Kenya Moore has confirmed she will not return for Season 17. She previously told fans during a livestream that her status was “as of now, no,” following her early exit from Season 16.
Her departure comes after an on-set incident involving Brit Eady, which led to her suspension and the removal of most of her filmed scenes.
Moore later issued a public apology, taking “full accountability” and addressing the cast, crew, and viewers.

Sheree Whitfield has confirmed she won’t be back, and despite speculation, NeNe Leakes is not returning after reported talks fell through.
#MusicNews: Ledisi Releases New Song “Teach Me Tonight”

Grammy-winning powerhouse Ledisi has treated fans to a soulful surprise, releasing the vaulted track “Teach Me Tonight” featuring The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra.
Directed by the acclaimed Scotty Barnhart, the song arrives as a prestigious “missing chapter” from Ledisi’s latest critically acclaimed project, For Dinah. Despite the track’s undeniable chemistry and big-band grandeur, it did not make the final cut for the album—a decision Ledisi recently revisited.
“This song didn’t make it on For Dinah,” Ledisi shared with fans. “Still… I think it’s worth the world experiencing!”
The collaboration pairs Ledisi’s velvet vocals with the world-renowned precision of the Count Basie Orchestra. Under the direction of Barnhart, “Teach Me Tonight” serves as a high-energy homage to the “Queen of the Blues,” Dinah Washington, further cementing Ledisi’s status as a modern guardian of the jazz tradition.

#HipHopNews: MC Serch & Mikey D End Beef In Queens
(via All Hip Hop) MC Serch and Mikey D publicly ended their long-running Queens feud during an emotional on-camera reunion at the Jamaica Colosseum Farewell Experience.
Old wounds and old words have healed over. They started in Queens, but on Sunday night handshakes replaced hostility as MC Serch and Mikey D publicly ended a feud that had simmered for years. It all happened at the Jamaica Colosseum Farewell Experience in Queens.
For longtime Hip-Hop observers, this was a full-circle moment.
The dispute between MC Serch and Mikey D dates back to conflicting accounts of a meeting inside a record label office years ago. At the time, Serch alleged he was physically threatened and intimidated during the encounter. Mikey D, however, offered a sharply different version of events, rejecting the characterization and eventually responding like an MC.
What followed was not a mainstream spectacle on the scale of Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping beef. But for purists, it carried weight. Mikey D released pointed diss records aimed squarely at Serch, but his counterpart never responded. That did not stop the whole thing from becoming very tense. These were two borough veterans from different corners of the culture warring.
During the Jamaica Colosseum Farewell Experience, an event in Queens billed as a celebration of legacy and community, Serch and Mikey D found themselves face-to-face while cameras rolled. The somber gathering was organized by 2 Dollar Dave and Mr. Fingaz and drew a crowd of Hip-Hop heads paying homage to a historic era.
Great news to give us some positive vibes in a much maligned Black History Month.
Hip-Hop has always thrived on competition, but it also survives on community. On a night meant to celebrate history in Queens, two veterans found a resolution. YAY!

The 2026 #BAFTAs had a great show but will be remembered for all the wrong reasons

A racial slur shouted during the 2026 BAFTA ceremony while two Black actors stood on stage has triggered a fierce conversation
The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall took an unexpected and painful turn when a racial slur was shouted from the audience as actors Delroy Lindo and Michael B. Jordan, both stars of Sinners, stood on stage to present the award for special visual effects. Both men visibly paused before continuing with the presentation. The outburst was attributed to John Davidson, a Tourette syndrome campaigner whose life story inspired the BAFTA-nominated film I Swear. Davidson had been warned ahead of the ceremony that the environment could trigger his tics, and the audience inside the hall had reportedly been informed before the show began that involuntary verbal outbursts might occur.
Host Alan Cumming addressed the incident twice during the ceremony, explaining that Tourette syndrome is a disability and that the tics are involuntary, offering an apology to anyone who was offended. The BBC, which aired the ceremony with a roughly two-hour delay, did not cut the language from the broadcast and later issued a statement attributing the outburst to involuntary tics and apologizing for any offense caused " If you were ofended"
The response from within the entertainment industry was swift and pointed. Actor Jamie Foxx described the incident as unacceptable on social media, while actor Wendell Pierce argued that the first priority should have been a full and direct apology to Lindo and Jordan, not a generalized statement about Tourette syndrome. Journalist Jemele Hill said the situation placed an unfair burden on Black people to absorb the harm without complaint.
Hannah Beachler, production designer for Sinners, said she also experienced a racial slur directed at her during the evening and criticized the apology as a throwaway response. Her frustration centered on the conditional framing of the apology, a qualifier that many felt minimized what had occurred. Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch called the BBC’s decision not to bleep the language a horrible mistake, saying the two actors on stage were the ones owed the most direct apology. Ed Palmer of Tourettes Action acknowledged the difficulty of the situation but suggested that bleeping the audio in post-production would have been a reasonable option given the delayed broadcast.
Variety also reported that other outbursts occurred throughout the evening, including shouting directed at BAFTA chair Sara Putt and an interruption during the acceptance of the best children’s and family film award.
A night of wins overshadowed
Away from the controversy, One Battle After Another dominated the night with six wins including best picture, best director, adapted screenplay, cinematography, editing, and supporting actor for Sean Penn, results that make a strong case for the film heading into the Oscars. Hamnet took outstanding British film, with Jessie Buckley winning best actress. Sinners and Frankenstein each took three awards, with Wunmi Mosaku winning best supporting actress for Sinners.
The evening’s most surprising win came when Robert Aramayo, who plays Davidson in I Swear, took home best actor and the EE Rising Star award, beating Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio. Aramayo, a relative newcomer, used his acceptance speech to acknowledge fellow nominee Ethan Hawke, crediting a talk Hawke gave at Juilliard as a turning point in his own development as an actor. I Swear has earned $8 million at the UK box office and is set for a U.S. release in April.
The BAFTA incident left a complicated question unanswered. How should a live broadcast balance the reality of disability with the harm caused to those who bear the direct impact of that disability’s most painful expressions? The BBC’s editorial decisions during the broadcast drew scrutiny on two separate fronts.
While the network failed to use its two-hour delay window to remove the racial slur before it reached viewers at home, it did cut a portion of the acceptance speech delivered by filmmakers Wale Davies and Akinola Davies Jr., who won the outstanding British debut award for My Father’s Shadow. Davies Jr. closed his remarks by dedicating the award to migrants, refugees, and those living under occupation and persecution, ending with a call for Palestinian liberation.
That final section was removed from the BBC broadcast, with the edit instead showing Davies Jr. thanking his family. The BBC said the live ceremony runs three hours and must be reduced to two hours for broadcast, and that edits were applied across multiple speeches to meet the time requirement. All full winner speeches were made available through BAFTA’s YouTube channel. The 2026 #BAFTA 2026 will be remembered for all the wrong reasons
Laila Edwards Becomes The First Black Woman To Win An Olympic Gold Medal In Hockey
Laila Edwards keeps making history at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.
On Thursday night, she became the first Black American woman to win a gold medal in women’s hockey when the United States defeated Canada 2-1 in overtime. She assisted on the first of her team’s two goals.
In her first game last week, Edwards, at 21 years old, became the first Black woman to represent Team USA at the Olympic Games, according to The Athletic.
Edwards accomplished the feat in front of her family after setting up a GoFundMe page to raise money for their travel.
“They helped me get here and make this team and achieve my dream, so it means a lot,” Edwards said.
Edwards’ family, including her parents and four siblings, hoped to raise $50,000. After 650 donations, they raised more than $61,000 and counting. The donor’s generosity allowed her 91-year-old grandmother, Ernestine Gray, and four friends to make the trip.
The top donation of $10,000 was made by Jason and Travis Kelce. Like Edwards, they are from Cleveland, OH. Jason and Kylie Kelce were in the stands to witness the US come from behind to capture the gold.

Claressa Shields Defeats Franchon Crews-Dezurn In Unanimous Decision

Claressa Shields is still the “GWOAT.” The undisputed heavyweight champion defeated Franchon Crews-Dezurn by unanimous decision in front of more than 17,000 fans at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday night.
According to ESPN, all three judges scored the 10-round bout 100-90. Shields, who was fighting in front of her home crowd, is now 18-0 (2 KOs).
”I felt like I had to take my time. Franchon hits hard, and she’s tough, and you’ve got to be very tricky with her,” Shields said after the fight.
“She was trying to cause the upset today and got me with some shots. But Franchon is exactly who she thinks she is — ‘The Heavy Hitting Diva.’ And that’s one of the best fights that I’ve been in in my professional career,” she continued. “Especially at 10 rounds. It was fun. I had to watch my ass every round.”
Crews-Dezurn shared how much Shields’ success in the sport has inspired her.
”She inspires me. She came in at a time where I was dominant and shook the table up,” Crews-Dezurn said. “When I’m seeing her, I’m like, ‘OK, that’s a point I could get to, or that’s somebody who can keep fire under me,’ and it’s never a jealousy thing. I’m proud of her.”
The bout was a long-awaited rematch when they faced each other in their professional debuts in 2016. Shields earned a four-round decision victory.
At the beginning of the fight, Crews-Dezurn came out aggressively and continued throughout the first couple of rounds, attempting to score a knockdown on Shield. But Shields quickly took control of the fight and cruised to a decisive victory.
In the crowd were former boxing champion Terence Crawford, rapper Tee Grizzley, Mike Epps, Michael Blackson, and many other celebrities.
For her ring walk, Shields brought out Lil Boosie, who performed”Set It Off.”
During her post-fight press conference, Shields said that she wants to take on Shadasia Green later this year as she held her niece. She also said that she plans to take before taking a break from boxing in 2027 to have a child.

Janet Jackson’s Night Out Causes Major Dating Questions
Janet Jackson’s recent appearance with Mustafa Farrakhan Sr. at a New Edition concert has ignited all the rumors.
Janet Jackson has stepped into another unexpected headline. No, it is not about Donald Trump support or her amazing tour. This is more about some serious legacy. The whispers now to a Farrakhan Sr…specifically the son of Nation of Islam leader.
Yes, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Let’s slow this down and get it right.
The chatter ignited after Janet was seen at a recent New Edition concert alongside Mustafa Farrakhan Sr. The two appeared close, comfortable, and were surrounded by tight security by the F.O.I. This is the kind of protection that that notes all the stops. This was not just a friendly link-up.
To be clear, Mustafa Farrakhan Sr. is not the former college basketball star some people immediately assumed. He is the son of Minister Farrakhan and has long been connected to the inner workings and legacy structure of the Nation of Islam. The Farrakhan name carries decades of influence, activism and leadership. Mustafa, Sr. has always been by his father’s side, almost in a security capacity himself. His father started to lead the Nation of Islam in the late 1970s and led major events such as the Million Man March. That legacy is not massive and it is generational.
Janet Jackson has always maneuvered differently. She has navigated global superstardom, high profile marriages, and intense public scrutiny with discipline. Her recent years have been focused on touring, legacy celebration but she seemed to step out in support of Donald Trump during the last president cycle. Or against Kamala Harris. Anyway. Moving along. When JJ steps out publicly with someone – especially a Farrakhan – people notice.
Some commenters insist this was simply two prominent individuals attending a concert. Others are suggesting the connection runs deeper and has been quietly developing for some time. Mustafa reportedly experienced the personal loss of his wife years ago. So, that is part of the conversation.
Still, the optics are powerful. Is this romance, friendship, or something else??? For now, it remains speculation. Stay tuned.

Sloane Stephens Announces Divorce From Jozy Altidore, Says She’s Moving Forward ‘With Peace’

When a love story that spans decades shifts, it feels personal, even from the outside looking in. Tennis champion Sloane Stephens and soccer star Jozy Altidore are officially ending their marriage after four years.
The couple, who tied the knot on January 1, 2022, have filed for divorce in Florida.
Sources say the split is amicable, and shortly after the news surfaced, Sloane addressed it directly with a message that was calm, grounded, and full of grace.
“Jozy and I have decided to end our marriage,” she wrote in a statement posted her her Instagram Story.
“With peace, I am navigating this transition with mutual respect and kindly ask for privacy during this time. Thank you for your love, understanding and continued support.”
That word, peace, carries weight.
Sloane Stephens’ Love Story That Started Long Before The Wedding
Sloane, 32, and Jozy, 36, first met as middle schoolers at Boca Prep in Florida.
What began as a childhood connection eventually blossomed into a high profile romance between two elite athletes.
They got engaged in 2019, with congratulations pouring in from the U.S. Olympic Committee, as both have represented Team USA on the global stage.

Their New Year’s Day wedding in 2022 at the oceanfront St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami Beach marked the start of a new chapter.
For four years, they built a marriage rooted in shared history, ambition, and public support for one another.
Insiders describe the split as amicable, and based on Sloane Stephens’ tone, that seems consistent.
Sloane has been working toward a tennis comeback after injuries disrupted her 2025 season.
She competed at the Australian Open in January and is scheduled to play next in the WTA 500 in Mérida, Mexico.
She has also expanded her presence as a broadcaster with ESPN and TNT, showing another dimension of her talent.
Jozy Altidore has stepped further into business, reportedly investing in an Oklahoma City soccer team alongside Russell Westbrook and other partners.
Sometimes growth means evolving in different directions. That does not erase the love or the years shared.
What stands out most to me is the maturity. No public tension. No back and forth.
Just a clear statement and a request for privacy.
Four years of marriage is not small.
Add in a friendship that began in middle school, and you are talking about a connection that shaped a significant part of both of their lives.
If you have ever had to release something that once felt permanent, you understand the strength it takes to do so with peace.

NFL Stars Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce Hit With Trademark Infringement Lawsuit – Sneaker Brand Claims They Stole ‘1587’ Name for Steakhouse
Kansas City Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are facing a lawsuit off the field after a sneaker company accused them and their restaurant partners of trademark infringement over the name of their Kansas City steakhouse, 1587 Prime.
The dispute centers on the number “1587” — a combination of Mahomes’ and Kelce’s jersey numbers — which the duo used to brand their restaurant opened last year with business partner Noble 33. But 1587 Sneakers claims it began selling shoes under the same number on April 13, 2023, and argues it has first use of the mark.
According to the complaint, the sneaker company didn’t apply for a federal trademark until last October, and that application is still under review by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Meanwhile, Mahomes and Kelce’s company applied for the “1587 Prime” trademark in December 2023 under the bar and restaurant category.
Trademark attorney Josh Gerben, who is not involved in the case, called it “a tough case” for the sneaker company, noting that trademarks can coexist in different industries. However, he questioned whether consumers could be confused since the marks are nearly identical — especially because 1587 Prime also sells apparel in addition to food.
The lawsuit alleges that “scores of consumers” have contacted 1587 Sneakers believing the brand is affiliated with the steakhouse. The company’s attorney declined to provide evidence to ESPN but said it would be presented if the case goes to trial. The sneaker brand is asking the restaurant group to stop using the name, halt apparel sales with the branding, and pay unspecified damages.
A publicist for Kelce declined to comment, and a representative for Mahomes did not respond to ESPN’s request for comment. For now, the fight over “1587” is headed to court — and the Chiefs stars are defending more than just their end zone.

Nicki Minaj Sparks Online Debate After Highlighting Signed Bible from Donald Trump

Nicki Minaj has revealed a personal gift she received from former President Donald Trump. In a photo posted to social media, the rapper displayed a Bible bearing Trump’s signature along with a handwritten message.
The image, which quickly circulated online, shows Trump’s name written prominently inside the book. Minaj did not provide extensive details about when the gift was given, but the post itself drew immediate attention across social platforms.

The moment adds to the history between the two public figures. In 2021, Minaj made headlines after sharing comments about COVID-19 vaccines that prompted a response from the White House. At the time, Trump publicly praised her for questioning vaccine information and invited her to visit the White House during his presidency.
The newly shared photo appears to document a direct exchange between them. Neither Minaj nor Trump issued a formal statement beyond what was shown in the post. Public reaction has been mixed, with supporters and critics weighing in online.

Minnesota Vikings WR Rondale Moore Dead at 25

Minnesota Vikings WR Rondale Moore died Saturday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was 25.
Moore was found dead in the garage of his house on Feb. 21 in New Albany, Indiana. No foul play is suspected. The investigation into his death continues.
Moore played college football for the Purdue Boilermakers. As a freshman, he won the Paul Hornung Award, and the Paul Warfield Trophy, awarded to the country’s top receiver. He was also named Big Ten Receiver of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
The 5’9″ wide receiver was selected 49th overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2021 NFL draft.
In September 2021, Moore bought his mother a house. He posted a photo of himself posing with his mother outside her new home in their native Indiana.
He captioned the post: “For everything you sacrificed for me and my siblings, this is only the beginning. Mama, this one is for you.”
The Cardinals traded Moore to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024. He suffered a knee injury during training camp and was placed on injured reserve.
In March 2025, the Minnesota Vikings signed Moore to a one-year, $2 million contract. On August 9, Moore blew out his knee during a preseason game against the Houston Texans.
On August 12, he was placed on the injured reserve for the second consecutive year. Moore was optimistic that he would return to the NFL.
“You know how many times I’ve been knocked on my ass in my career,” he said. “You get back up and you get out there.”
But his injury kept him off the football field.
Fans and NFL players were stunned by the news of his death on Saturday. Tributes poured in on social media.
NY Giants quarterback Russell Wilson wrote on X/Twitter: “RIP Rondale Moore [praying hands]. Heartbroken for your family, friends, & teammates.”
