Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson (89), has died.
A source close to the family told stated that Mr. Jackson passed on at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning (June 27) in Los Angeles.
“He had home nursing care and things took a turn and they wanted to rush him to the hospital, but it was too late,” the source close to the Jackson family told Radar.
On June 22, Joe was hospitalized in the final stages of terminal cancer. His family including wife, Katherine, had been at his bedside, as well as his children and grandchildren.
In May 2016, the father of 11, whose children also included the members of the Jackson 5, was hospitalized following a check-up at his doctor’s office. He has been struggling with health issues for a while; In 2015, he suffered a stroke and three heart attacks after which doctors implanted a pacemaker.
Joe, who married Katherine in 1949, had a brief music career before putting his sons, including Michael and Jermaine, together in a group called The Jackson 5. After they were signed to Motown in 1968, the family moved to California, where the patriarch supervised the group’s recording sessions and later opened his own record label, establishing the careers of his youngest son, Randy, and daughter Janet. He was criticized for his parenting and management practices, including physical brutality.
Katherine twice filed divorce papers over the years but later withdrew them and the couple remained married despite Joe fathering a child with another woman. The two did not live together and had a strained relationship during the last years of his life.
News of Joe’s death also comes two days after the ninth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death.
Janet Jackson recently paid homage to her father while receiving the Impact Award at the Radio Disney Music Awards. “My mother nourished me with the most extravagant love imaginable,” she said. “My incredible father drove me to be the best I can. My siblings set an incredibly high standard, a high bar for artistic excellence.”

A NY POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE HAS HAPPENED! Newcomer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez UNSEATED longtime Congressman Joe Crowley in NY-14!
In the biggest primary upset of 2018, powerful Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) lost his seat to progressive political newcomer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Tuesday.
Crowley is the chair of the House Democratic Caucus, and he was often named as a future leader of the party, should Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) retire one day.
The victory for Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old Latina candidate with modest resources and views that easily make her one of the most left-wing members of Congress, would be significant under any circumstances. That she won in the 14th Congressional District against Crowley, the House Democratic Caucus chairman and a leading candidate for Speaker, is nothing short of remarkable. It was the first time Crowley faced a serious primary challenge in 14 years.
Her win is the most historic ouster of a congressional leader since former GOP Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost his Virginia seat to tea party challenger Dave Brat in June 2014.
“This is not an end, this is the beginning. This is the beginning because the message that we sent the world tonight is that it’s not OK to put donors before your community,” Ocasio-Cortez told her supporters Tuesday night.
In his concession statement, Crowley said he would support Ocasio-Cortez in November.
“The Trump administration is a threat to everything we stand for here in Queens and the Bronx, and if we don’t win back the House this November, we will lose the nation we love,” he said. “This is why we must come together. We will only be able to stop Donald Trump and the Republican Congress by working together, as a united Democratic Party.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s party Tuesday night, held at a Bronx pool hall with no stage, started small and quickly grew as it became apparent that she would defeat Crowley. In attendance was Cynthia Nixon, the actress and progressive candidate challenging New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) in the Sept. 13 primary, as well as Zephyr Teachout, the law professor running for state attorney general.
What culminated as a celebration of progressive strength, however, began largely outside the national media spotlight. She went door to door introducing herself to voters, quietly putting together the operation needed to get on the ballot in a state with notoriously byzantine election rules. Her bid caught fire among a small and intense group of progressive activists.
But most national poll watchers viewed Crowley’s re-election as a foregone conclusion.
New York’s diverse 14th District is heavily Democratic, and Ocasio-Cortez is expected to win in November. Her GOP opponent is Anthony Pappas, a St. John’s University professor.
“Our district is overwhelmingly people of color, it’s working class, it’s very immigrant ― and it hasn’t had the representation we’ve needed,” Ocasio-Cortez, a second-generation Puerto Rican, told folks earlier this month. Crowley, 56, who hails from a middle-class Irish family, has been in Congress for nearly two decades.
In beating the incumbent, the progressive millennial, who has never held elected office, also scored a victory for the wave of women running for office since President Donald Trump’s election ― following other notable primary victories so far for Stacey Abrams in Georgia and Lupe Valdez in Texas.
Ocasio-Cortez’s progressive platform includes ideas like a $15 minimum wage and Medicare for all, which have become more mainstream among Democratic Party leaders in recent years, as well as more radical proposals, like abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and having a federal job guarantee.
Ocasio-Cortez’s victory is the biggest electoral coup to date for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and his network of allied groups.
Ocasio-Cortez was an organizer for Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, and Justice Democrats, a left-leaning group formed by former Sanders staffers, was one of her earliest boosters. Our Revolution, a group Sanders founded as a successor to his campaign, also backed her.
Ocasio-Cortez will also be the only current member of Congress who is a dues-paying member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
The newcomer won despite her campaign coffers lagging far behind Crowley’s: She raised over $300,000, compared to about $3.4 million for Crowley.
Ocasio-Cortez touted her working-class roots and her campaign’s refusal to take corporate money in her bid to win voters over to her grassroots campaign.
“I’m not running from the left; I’m running from the bottom,” the Bronx-born candidate said earlier this month. “I’m running in fierce advocacy for working-class New Yorkers.”
Republicans immediately gloated at the results ― even though the party has almost no shot at taking the seat.
“Democrats have spent millions rigging primaries across the country but couldn’t spare a dime for poor Joe Crowley tonight,” said NRCC spokesman Matt Gorman. “House Democrats, hoping for a post-Pelosi era, are now left leaderless. The only person happier tonight than Nancy Pelosi is the NRCC.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s team made it a point to not take corporate PAC money, while Crowley accepted donations from corporate PACs and companies’ employees or owners. While about two-thirds of her campaign donations so far have been small, under-$200 contributions, less than 1 percent of Crowley’s funds were.
“I see people like me, who thought someone like me couldn’t be in politics,” Ocasio-Cortez told HuffPost earlier this month. “[They] now are saying, ‘Oh, wait, I don’t need to take money from corporations to run. Maybe I’ll run, too.’”
Ultimately, local politics likely played as much of a role in Crowley’s defeat as national cross-currents. Crowley is not only the fourth-highest-ranking Democrat in the House and a leading fundraiser for his colleagues.
As chairman of the Queens County Democratic Party, he is also one of the most influential figures in New York City politics. His role atop what is widely viewed as one of the last true political machines in American politics earned him the moniker “The King of Queens.”
Just as Crowley’s predecessor, Thomas Manton, tapped him to run in 1998 in a way that virtually assured Crowley’s win, Democrats hoping to rise in the populous borough had to go through Crowley.
Reporting in The Intercept documented ways in which Crowley had used his status to benefit himself and cronies. For example, attorneys tied to Crowley have won a disproportionate share of the legal business at the Queens County Surrogate’s Court, which processes the estates of Queens residents who died without wills.
The political post gave Crowley obvious advantages. As recently as last Monday, he held an official event at the Queens Library at Woodside, where other senior Queens officials praised him for helping secure an additional $6.5 million from the New York City budget to renovate the facility.
But it also bred resentment among working-class constituents who chafed at his top-down influence and harbored a sense that he had ignored their concerns about the rising cost of housing. It undoubtedly did not help matters that Crowley’s primary residence was in the Washington suburb of Arlington, Virginia.
As Ocasio-Cortez spoke at a news conference in East Elmhurst in Queens last week, several Latino supporters interjected with chants in Spanish, “Yes to the change. No to the machine.”
Speakers and attendees at the event, which announced the endorsement of the Pan-American Democratic Association in Queens, just as often cited Crowley’s role in permitting the construction of a Target facility nearby and fears of gentrification as they did his vote for the Iraq War in 2002 when explaining their support for Ocasio-Cortez.
Notwithstanding her staunch progressive views, in an interview after the news conference, Ocasio-Cortez insisted that she would welcome opportunities to work with Republicans. Two areas she sees as potential grounds for cooperation are the Dream Act and criminal justice reform.
Asked whether she would accept a meeting with President Donald Trump, Ocasio-Cortez was more reluctant.
“Probably not. I would probably want conditions. I would make demands,” she said with a chuckle. “I’m not gonna give him a photo-op because he wants it.”

A month after being bestowed with the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards, Janet Jackson was honored with the 2018 Impact Award at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday (June 23).

RHONJ Cast Involved In Physical Altercation at Finale Party: ‘Plenty of Alcohol’ and ‘Screaming’
The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast filmed the finale episode of their ninth season over the weekend at the New Jersey home of reported new cast member Jennifer Aydin and during her wedding anniversary celebration, a fight reportedly broke out amongst her co-stars.
According to a new report, the cast of season nine, including Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Danielle Staub, and Jacqueline Goldschneider, was having fun at Aydin’s Paramus home when two of the cast member’s husbands began to brawl.
On June 25, All About the Tea revealed that it was Margaret’s husband, Joe Benigno, and the new husband of Danielle, Marty Caffrey, who got into a fight over their wives due to the women’s falling out.
“The two men were hurling insults over a beef between their wives,” a source revealed, adding that their feud involved screaming and violent threats.
“The men started fighting and Joe pushed Marty into the pool. Everyone ran outside to see what the drama was about,” the insider continued. “Plenty of alcohol was flowing at the event because producers wanted drama after a slow season.”
Following the filmed altercation between the two men, Jennifer, a mother of five who is married to plastic surgeon Dr. Bill Ayden, was said to be understandably disappointed in their behavior, especially considering the drama took place at her home.
“Jennifer is very uppity and pulled out all the stops for the party. She spent a fortune on a party planner to make sure everything would be perfect,” the sources revealed. “After the party was over, she cried over the men ruining her party.”

Mr. Dobson just filed paperwork in his pending divorce from the soulful singer requesting she return some of his belongings. And his list of items are all time PETTY.
According to TMZ, Jill's estranged husband is asking a judge to make Jill give back a few items he left behind in September 2017.
Apparently, the "Golden" singer changed the locks on their home and Michael was unable to get his personal items, including Prince's album Purple Rain. That's not all he wants. He also wants Jill to return...y'all ready?...FIVE hotel robes (really, sir?), a massage table, a Dewalt laser level measurer AND...an extended shoehorn. Petty much?
Things are only getting nastier between the two after Jill filed for divorce from Michael 15 months after they tied the knot. She requested a restraining order against her estranged husband back in February. Since news broke that they were calling it quits, Michael has been making headlines, trashing Jill over her alleged "evil ways."
Sounds like they both are big mad. We know Jilly from Philly can't wait to get this all over with so she can go back to living her life like it's golden. Because this surely aint that.

2018 NBA Awards: James Harden, Ben Simmons take home hardware
The second annual NBA Awards have come and gone.
The star-studded event — during which the winners of all of the NBA's major regular-season awards, including MVP and Rookie of the Year, were announced — took place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California and was televised live on TNT.
The six major awards were voted on by a panel of media members before the start of the postseason. The winners are listed below.
Most Valuable Player
James Harden, Houston: Harden, who finished second in the MVP race in 2014-15 and 2016-17, led the Rockets to a franchise-record 65 wins and led the NBA in scoring (30.4 points per game), three-pointers made (265) and 50-point games (four). Harden received 86 out of 101 possible first-place votes.
Rookie of the Year
Ben Simmons, Philadelphia: After spending a year on the sidelines with a foot injury, Simmons' rookie season proved to be well worth the wait. He joined Oscar Robertson as the only other rookie in NBA history to average 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists per game.
Most Improved Player
Victor Oladipo, Indiana: Nobody in the league improved as drastically as Oladipo, who bounced back from a tough season in Oklahoma City to emerge as a full-blown star. He set career highs in points (23.1 per game), rebounds (5.2), assists (4.3), steals (2.4) and field goal percentage (47.7).
Defensive Player of the Year
Rudy Gobert, Utah: The Jazz boasted an NBA-best defensive rating of 97.5 in the final 38 games of the season after Gobert returned from a knee injury. He ranked fourth in the NBA in total blocks (129) despite missing 26 games.
Sixth Man Award
Lou Williams, Los Angeles Clippers: Though he started 19 games due to the Clippers' onslaught of injuries, Williams averaged a career-high 22.6 points. This is the second Sixth Man Award of his career.
Coach of the Year
Dwane Casey, Toronto: Casey, who was fired after the Raptors were swept out of the playoffs by Cleveland and then hired as head coach of Detroit, led Toronto to a franchise-best 59 wins and the top seed in the Eastern Conference. During his acceptance speech, Casey addressed the elephant in the room.

#JusticeForJunior: 6 charged in connection with Bronx teen murder
NEW YORK — Six more suspects were being held in Paterson, New Jersey Monday, awaiting an extradition hearing, in connection with the savage machete attack on a 15-year-old Bronx boy.
One other suspect, Kevin Alvarez, 19, has already been charged with murder and gang assault in the brutal death of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz. He pleaded not guilty on Monday.
Alvarez is accused specifically with dragging Guzman-Feliz "through the threshold" of a Bronx bodega, according to prosecutors on Monday evening.
PIX11 News first reported Sunday that multiple people were detained at an alleged gang stronghold on East 24th Street in Paterson.
They are suspected of being members of the Trinitarios gang.
Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced the extradition hearings of the following suspects:
Jose Muniz, 21, of Paterson, NJ
Jose Taverez, 21, of the Bronx, NY
Manuel Rivera, 18 of Bronx, NY
Danel Fernandez 21 of Bronx, NY
Joniki Martinez 24, of Freeport, NY
Santiago Rodriguez 24, of Bronx, NY
Their extradition to New York could happen as early as TODAY.
A law enforcement source also told PIX11 on Monday that authorities are talking to someone in the Dominican Republic who may be connected to the deadly stabbing .
Paterson, New Jersey police first received a tip at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday. They sent a large contingent of cops and found four people tied to the attack of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz who were holed up at a house on East 24th Street in Paterson, a source tells PIX11.
When authorities went to the house, one suspect managed to escape but was apprehended minutes later, sources say.
#JusticeForJunior: Mother of murdered Bronx teen speaks out
The leader of the Trinitarios gang apologized on Facebook, saying the vicious murder resulted from a case of mistaken identity.
Guzman-Feliz was dragged out of a bodega at East 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue and hacked to death with a machete on Wednesday night following a dispute with a group of males, officials said. He managed to go back inside the bodega, and then walk to nearby St. Barnabus Hospital, where he died outside.
A source told PIX11 that one gang member was angry because a relative was featured in a sex video and thought Guzman-Feliz was in the video.
Guzman-Feliz's death sent shockwaves through the community, and on social media, as the hashtag #JusticeforJunior began trending. Rapper Cardi B, a Bronx native, was among those paying tribute, posting on Instagram about getting justice for the teen.
‘Ocean’s 8’ Tops $100 Million After Third Box-Office Weekend
It surpassed $100 million domestically more quickly than any other “Ocean’s” movie has.
“Ocean’s 8” has pulled off another fast one after topping $100 million domestically at the box office.
The female-dominated heist blew past that mile marker on its 17th day after raking in $11.65 million during its third weekend, Forbes reported Sunday.
Worldwide, the movie ― a continuation of the “Ocean’s” franchise, this time starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson ― has earned $171 million and is still yet to open in Finland, Sweden, Spain, Italy and Japan.
Domestically, “Ocean’s 8” is officially the fastest “Ocean’s” movie to surpass $100 million.
“Ocean’s Eleven,” which was the first of three male-dominated films starring George Clooney, took 19 days to reach that same milestone in 2001, according to Box Office Mojo.
The $41.5 million box-office opening for “Ocean’s 8” was also a series best for the “Ocean’s” movie franchise.
In comparison, “Ocean’s Eleven,” which was 2001′s fifth highest-grossing film, earned $38 million opening weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.
“Ocean’s Twelve,” released in 2004, earned $39 million opening weekend, and 2007′s “Ocean’s Thirteen” earned $36 million opening weekend.

Cher swung by the out of town tryout of her new musical this week and went nose to nose backstage with the three actresses who share the mammoth task of portraying this American icon. Stephanie J. Block tweeted an exclusive photo from Cher meeting the Chers of The Cher Show!

Halle Berry And her Kids go Vacationing In Bora Bora
It isn’t every day that we get to see pictures of Halle Berry’s kids, Maceo and Nahla. We cherish the moments when the actress chooses to share images of her little ones. Such is the reason why we were overwhelmingly happy to see recent pictures of Halle Berry and her little ones vacationing in Bora Bora, France, despite the celebrity mom creatively covering her children’s faces in most of the pictures.
One photo showed Maceo sitting while rocking a hat with shorts and a t-shirt. The hat was, of course shielding his face from the camera, but Maceo was nevertheless the cool one in the candid. “‘Lei’d’ for the first time,” Halle said of her son’s additional accessory laced around his neck. “Love how she protects her babies from the Hollyweird world,” one fan said of Maceo hiding his face from the camera.
Another photo of Halle and the kids on vacation was of both Maceo and Nahla. The siblings had their backs to the cameras as they took in the beautiful scenery. “Living their best lives…together,” Halle captioned.
Maceo is Halle Berry’s son with her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez. Nahla is the actress’ child with model Gabriel Aubry.
