#FASHIONFAB: Pharrell’s Debut For Louis Vuitton Spring 2024
As the summer sun takes the helm, a new day dawns for Louis Vuitton, with Pharrell Williams stepping in as the creative director for the Maison’s menswear line. Pharrell’s introductory show, held under the open skies of Paris, was nothing short of radiant.
Pont Neuf, a symbolic landmark of Louis Vuitton’s storied past, glittered with a Damier motif runway, reflecting the brand’s heritage onto the canvas of this new era. The initial announcement of Pharrell taking the reins had already sparked intrigue, and the actual showcase was a gleaming spectacle of joy and love.
From the moment the attendees arrived till the echo of the last note of music faded, every element was artfully designed to create an unforgettable experience. The core ethos of Pharrell’s debut collection, dubbed “LVERS,” was deeply rooted in the philosophy that an affinity for Louis Vuitton transcends the physical product. It is a profound adoration for the curated culture and the shared understanding of refined taste.
Pharrell’s inaugural collection had the iconic LV monogram as its primary motif, cleverly interwoven with his distinct Damoflage print, a playful pixelated representation reminiscent of retro 8-bit graphics. This clever juxtaposition of heritage and novelty added a dash of unique charm, akin to the pairing of classic elegance with contemporary fashion.
The sun was a significant symbol for Pharrell, emphasizing life’s vibrant energy. This energy was evident in his collection, a beautiful medley of contrasting designs, blending heritage and innovation with a charming fluidity
Notably, Pharrell introduced the refreshed Monogram-adorned Speedy bag in an array of lively hues, reinforcing the dynamic spirit of the season. His appearance on the runway, dressed in a digitalized Camouflage suit, was a memorable tribute to the enduring emblem of the Maison.
The collection brought to life traditional and novel silhouettes, brilliantly mirroring the show’s theme. The line-up included everything from the bold short suit to long coats, from leather jackets with hoods to cargo shorts.
There were leather boots and backpacks, quaint mary jane t-strap shoes, leather trousers and coats, pleated shorts, belts flaunting the “LV” logo, oversized boots, shearling jackets, printed denim, sports jerseys, and more. Each piece was a visual treat, marrying heritage aesthetics with a pioneering vision.
Pharrell’s first venture was a vibrant celebration of his journey thus far and an homage to his predecessor, Virgil Abloh. He reiterated that the creative genius who preceded him would always remain in the heart of his creations for the Maison.
#RHOA: Phaedra Parks Gifts Son An Investment Property For His 13th Birthday
MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16” premiered in 2005 and, for years, had audience members captivated by the lavish celebrations designed to honor the celebrity children’s milestone birthday.
Although the show has since ended, the extravagant parties for children have not ceased, and they are not limited to that critical teenage year. Parents of privilege host large-scale parties for their children at almost any age, and former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks is in that number.
Park’s eldest son, Ayden, celebrated his 13th birthday, and Parks went all out.
According to The Messenger, Parks revealed that her son had his eyes set on a dirt bike for his birthday. However, after giving it some thought, the mother of two decided on something that would offer additional financial security for his future.
“He wanted a dirt bike, [but I thought], ‘Let me get you something that you won’t kill yourself [on]. Let me get you something that’s going to be useful,” Parks said to the outlet.
While the gift may seem like a tall order for someone just entering their teenage years, Parks assured that Ayden would have her support.
“I’ll probably have to worry about this rental property, but I won’t worry about it as much! We are going to do a project together where we will rehab that property, so I’m super excited about that,” Parks also explained to The Messenger.
For Ayden, the fiscally responsible gift was centered around a grand affair with 120 guests. With elements from a carnival, Parks described the party as similar to a “little royal coronation.”
With planning help from celebrity party panner Tori Williams, Ayden and his guests enjoyed live animals, carnival games, a 360-booth, DJ, and mocktails for Ayden and his friends.
It was also reported that Parks dished out $70,000 for the adolescent’s party, noting this was one of the first large-scale events she’s hosted since COVID-19.
“During COVID, you really couldn’t have parties like that because it wasn’t safe,” Parks told The Messenger. “So now that the world’s opened back up, I just wanted him to have a huge blowout party.”
While Ayden received a generous gift from Parks, he also showed his appreciation to his mom by giving her an emerald necklace from Congés Jewelry.
“He’s just like, ‘Mom, you’ve been so good to me, and you just take care of me.’ It was just the sweetest speech, but he’s so articulate,” Parks expressed to The Messenger. “So it was a super touching moment.”
Parks isn’t the only celebrity parent dishing out gifts that could set up their children’s financial future.
A previous report from AfroTech noted that Rick Ross gifted his son a Wing Stop franchise for his 16th birthday.
“Everyone wish my son @mmgbigbank [a] Happy 16th birthday!” the rapper wrote on Instagram at the time. “Today he became the owner of his 1st @wingstop franchise. You’re now officially a BOSS!!! Keep going.”

#HipHopNews: Young Thug Says He Wasn't Dissing Saweetie On "Want Me Dead"
Young Thug recently stepped into the limelight to dispel rumors surrounding his new album, BUSINESS IS BUSINESS. Released on Friday (June 23), the project features a track aptly titled “Want Me Dead” that stirred up controversy around a speculated namedrop.
The lyric states, “My n**ga ain’t even tryna hit sweetie. That b**ch turn me off, no kizzy,” triggering speculation of an apparent slight towards rap superstar Saweetie. But in the words of Thugger, the gossip is far from reality.
The YSL rapper resorted to Twitter on Saturday (June 24) to clear the haze. “Her name is Saweetie. I said sweetie. #BusinessIsBusiness,” he clarified, trying to defuse the misinterpretation. For additional context, he added, “Also, that song is 6 years old.”
While Thug dispelled notions of a Saweetie diss, another segment of the album has ignited a similar reaction from listeners. Despite these tracks likely being recorded before the Atlanta rapper’s arrest in May 2022, fans can’t help but connect some of the lyrics to snitching allegations against Gunna.
In “Jonesboro,” the Slime Season artist raps, “Y’all n**gas just a bunch of dykes, f**king n**gas. N**gas told and he was my homie. I can’t miss him, ain’t nobody feel him,” with some interpreting it as a coded dig at Gunna.
In a time when Young Thug’s direct communication with his fanbase is constricted due to legal proceedings, BUSINESS IS BUSINESS still managed to land Apple Music’s top albums and songs charts. And while the initial excitement gave way to scrutinizing lyrics and hunting for veiled jabs, the rapper remains unmoved, dismissing allegations aimed at Saweetie and leaving fans to ruminate on the rest.
Don Lemon Says He's Fired By CNN Fired Because He's Against 'Bigots'
Don Lemon has declared he was fired by CNN for refusing to put "liars" and "bigots" on his news shows. The ousted host, who was sacked from the network in April following a 17-year stint there, as part of an apparent shake-up of its image as a liberal station, also insisted people have a duty to "stand up for what is right" so they can "fulfill the promise" of the U.S. Constitution.
He told ABC24 Memphis in his first sit-down interview since his dramatic departure from CNN, "We have to stand up for the truth. I don't believe in platforming liars and bigots, insurrectionists and election deniers and putting them on the same footing as people who are telling the truth; people who are fighting for what’s right, people who are abiding by the Constitution."
"I think that would be a dereliction of journalistic duty to do those sorts of things. I have a responsibility as an American - not only as a journalist - to tell the truth and abide by the promises of the Constitution. Because the Constitution says a more perfect union - not a perfect union. I'm not perfect. No one is," he continued.
Since he was ousted from CNN, Don has maintained a relatively low profile, and told Page Six he was planning to "enjoy my summer, spend it on the beach and have a great time… that's it!"
Don's ousting was widely seen as part of a move by network boss Chris Licht's campaign to shake up the network's liberal-leaning image and reinvent it as a down-the-middle and facts-first news organisation. It has been reported Don's tensions with Chris, 51, dated back at least to last autumn, when the outlet said a wardrobe dispute erupted during a rehearsal.
The Atlantic said in early November, during a final rehearsal before the launch of "CNN This Morning", Lemon baffled producers by arriving back on set from a break wearing a white jacket with fur collar over a turtleneck.
Chris is said to have asked in the control room, "What the f*** is he wearing?", according to a first-hand account from Atlantic staff writer Tim Alberta, who was there working on a lengthy profile of the boss.
A junior producer was said to have reluctantly relayed Chris' concern through Don's earpiece, which apparently provoked a "miffed" look from the CNN host as he was allegedly told, "Don, uhh, we're not too crazy about the jacket in here."
Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola Are Married! Couple Weds During A-List Celebration in Big Sur
Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola are married. The Mad Men and Confess, Fletch costars tied the knot on Saturday, according to TMZ.
The couple wed at Anderson Canyon in Big Sur — the same place where the Mad Men finale filmed — where they were joined by various celebrity pals, including Billy Crudup, Paul Rudd and Tina Fey, the outlet reported.
TMZ said the couple's walkup song was the theme to the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice.
They first reportedly met on the set of the AMC series Mad Men in 2015, before being spotted together on several occasions and romantically linked in 2020.
After stepping out together several times since then, the pair made their red carpet debut in March 2022 at an Oscars afterparty. The two attended several other events together in the following months, including a screening for their movie Confess, Fletch in September.
Stern on his SiriusXM show, revealing that he could see himself being married someday.
"This is all part of what I'm saying. This is another place in my life that I feel very settled and comfortable. I'm in a relationship right now and it's comfortable," he said, later adding that he's been able to sit down to start "really thinking about all that stuff, that's made the relationship that I'm in now even more meaningful and opened up the possibility of things like being married, having kids, defining a new version of happiness, life, wellness."
"It sounds hokey and whatever, but it's real and for one of a better word, it's what I'm working for. What else is there other than that?" he added before confirming that he is "very much so" in love.
"You really have to lean on each other," Hamm, who stars in the new movie Maggie Moore(s), told PEOPLE this month of being in a relationship with another actor.
“It's a bumpy road towards relationships, but we do get better at it, I suppose. I mean, I feel like I've figured out some things over the course of my half a century on the planet. So I'm in a pretty good place now," he added.
Billy Porter Is Tired of Wearing the Pride Rainbow: 'Can I Just Show Up in Something Cute?'
Billy Porter says he’s tired of the rainbow flag every Pride season. Billy Porter wore the ubiquitous rainbow colors as a sash as he lead the Pride parade through Manhattan on Sunday as one of its grand marshals. But he says he’s getting bored of the multi-colored motif.
“I’m trying to find a rainbow without being the rainbow. I’m sort of over the rainbow but I like the rainbow. It’s a love-hate relationship with the rainbow, with the colors,” the actor and activist told Page Six.
“Because we have [had] to wear it for so many years,” he added, “It’s like, ‘Damn, can we wear something else now? Do I have to wear the colors? Can I just show up in something cute?”
‘Will & Grace’ Had Another Ensemble Member In Its Pilot, Costars Reveal In Podcast
Will & Grace almost had a fifth wheel. The first episode of the new podcast Just Jack & Will saw the show’s Eric McCormack and Sean Hayes reveal that the pilot featured them, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, and – wait for it — Cress Williams.
“There were five characters as regulars,” McCormack recalled. “And the fifth was my partner at my small law firm.” Describing the character as a “straight guy” who was “probably written as Jewish” initially, McCormack claimed that Will’s friendship with Williams’s character was meant to be “just as important” as Messing’s Grace and Hayes’s Jack.
That lasted a beat.
Director James Burrows told Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick that five people was too many. “I felt so terrible,” McCormack said. “It was nothing he did or didn’t do… It just didn’t fit what the show is supposed to be.”
Williams recovered nicely from being dropped. He was on ER for several seasons, and then became The CW superhero Black Lightning.
Angela Bassett is finally set to receive an Oscar after a 30-year-plus Hollywood acting career
“Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting,” Academy President Janet Yang said.
After a pair of nominations and impactful performances, Hollywood actress Angela Bassett will finally receive an Oscar.
Earlier the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences made the announcement. According to Variety, Bassett will be presented with an honorary Oscar at the 14th annual Governors Awards. The event is set to take place on Nov. 18, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.
“The Academy’s Board of Governors is thrilled to honor four trailblazers who have transformed the film industry and inspired generations of filmmakers and movie fans,” said Academy President Janet Yang. Regarding the veteran actress, Yang noted, “Across her decadeslong career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting.”
Since making her Hollywood debut in the 1980s, Bassett has wowed audiences with her ability to portray trailblazers like Rosa Parks and evoke emotions in films such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The 64-year-old legendary storyteller has earned two Academy Award nominations throughout her career. Her most recent opportunity was for Best Supporting Actress this year, thanks to her role as Queen Ramonda in the 2022 Marvel movie.
However, Bassett did not take home the accolade, nor did she win when first nominated for Best Actress after starring in the 1993 film What’s Love Got to Do with It. Along with preparing to receive an Oscar, the star is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the drama movie based on the life of the late Tina Turner. As REVOLT previously reported, Bassett recently opened up about working on the film’s set with her co-star Laurence Fishburne. Per the outlet, the award is “to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or outstanding service to the Academy.” Other recipients include Mel Brooks, Carol Littleton, and Michelle Satter.
Prosecutors drop charges against a Chicago mom and her 14-year-old son after a restaurant argument ended deadly
A Chicago woman and her teenage son are expected to be released from police custody after being charged in a fatal argument-turned-altercation.
CBS Chicago revealed that prosecutors are dropping charges against Carlishia Hood, 35, and her 14-year-old son. In a social media post, the news station shared the decision came after “a further review of evidence in the case.” A cell phone recording of a shooting incident involving Hood, her teenager, and an 32-year-old man was among the evidence.
On June 18, three individuals’ lives were completely altered after a shooting at a local restaurant. That night, Hood and her son pulled in front of Maxwell Street Express around 11 p.m., USA Today revealed. Footage showed Hood exiting a blue Lincoln Nautilus and walking inside the fast food establishment while her son waited in the car.
Shortly after entering the restaurant, an argument broke out between Hood and 32-year-old Jeremy Brown, court documents noted. During the confrontation, the 35-year-old reportedly texted her teen. Prosecutors alleged Brown’s girlfriend laughed and encouraged her boyfriend during his exchange with Hood.
Moments later, the teen emerged from the vehicle and into the establishment. Audio from the footage revealed Brown yelling at Hood to “get yo’ food” and “If you say one more thing, I’mma knock you out.” When Hood continued talking, the video showed Brown violently punching her in the head more than once, court papers mentioned. The teen reportedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at Brown.
The 32-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the back. Prosecutors shared that Brown ran from inside the restaurant as Hood’s son continued to shoot at him. Law enforcement alleged Hood told her son to keep shooting Brown and to kill him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. When the 14-year-old stopped shooting at the victim, Hood reportedly told him to fire at Brown’s girlfriend and attempted to take the gun from him. NBC Chicago noted that he pushed her away, and they left together in the blue car. Brown’s girlfriend later identified both Hood and her son in photo arrays. On June 21, the 35-year-old and 14-year-old turned themselves into authorities.
The outlet added that Hood possessed the proper requirements for a gun in the state. Despite that, she and her son were facing first-degree murder charges. The 14-year-old also faced counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm in juvenile court. Hood was previously held on a $3 million bail.
Patti LaBelle Addresses Viral Flub During Tina Turner Tribute at BET Awards 2023
Patti LaBelle is addressing that viral moment at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday night (June 25).
During a tribute to the late Tina Turner, the 79-year-old Godmother of Soul forgot some of the lyrics to one of her songs.
The hitmaker admitted that she was having issues with a teleprompter during the performance. She opened up about the situation after the fact, too.
Speaking to ET, Patti stressed that the performance was an important one for her.
“It meant no matter what voice I’m in — I’m hoarse, I have a cold — but whatever, I had to, I was giving it up for Tina Turner, ’cause she’s simply the best,” she explained. “So, you heard a little tweak every now and then out there, but I love her, and I did my best.”
If you missed it, another music icon opened up about her final memories of Tina. They even received a special gift from the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll the last time that they were together.

John Goodman Says The Conners ‘May Be Coming to an End’ With Season 6
John Goodman’s days playing Dan Conner may be numbered. In a new interview, the Conners patriarch suggests that Season 6 of the Roseanne spinoff could be its last.
“I think we may be coming to an end on it, I’m not sure,” he tells France 24. “It’s lasted longer than I thought we would. It was just supposed to be like an eight [episode] show and out thing at one point, but they picked us up again, and they keep picking us up.”
ABC declined to comment, but a network insider tells TVLine that there have been no conversations about the spinoff ending with Season 6.
In its recently concluded fifth season, The Conners averaged 5 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating (with Live+7 playback), up 6 percent in viewers and off just a tenth in the demo from its Season 4 numbers. Out of the five sitcoms that ABC has aired during the 2022-23 broadcast season, it ranks No. 1 in total audience and trails only Abbott Elementary in the demo.
Speaking to TVLine in anticipation of the Season 5 finale and a Season 6 pickup, executive producer Bruce Helford surmised that the Roseanne offshoot was nearing its end.
“Sara Gilbert expressed to the network that we don’t want to go out without knowing that we are going out with a series finale so we can build to the right ending — and at this point in time, we feel that [next season] is possibly going to be the last season of The Conners,” he said. “I would not [say that] definitively because the numbers were so good this season, and we’ve all had a really great time… but it’s definitely a possibility.”
The Conners rose from the ashes of the Roseanne revival in October 2018, and has continued to chronicle the daily lives of the eponymous working-class family, including Dan (Goodman), Jackie (Laurie Metcalf), Darlene (Sara Gilbert), Becky (Lecy Goranson), Harris (Emma Kenney), Mark (Ames McNamara) and Mary (Jayden Rey).
Rounding out the ensemble are Jay R. Ferguson as Darlene’s husband Ben, and recurring guest stars Katey Sagal and Nat Faxon as Dan and Jackie’s spouses Louise and Neville, respectively.
Brittney Griner Named a Starter for the WNBA All-Star Game
Brittney Griner of the Phoenix Mercury was announced Sunday as a starter for the WNBA’s upcoming All-Star Game. Griner’s nine career All-Star Game selections are more than any other starting all-star this year, according to the Mercury.
The All-Star Game will be played in Las Vegas on July 15.
Griner – a two-time Olympic gold medalist – has averaged over 19 points and more than six rebounds a game in 2023 after missing all of last season as she spent nearly 300 days in Russian custody.
The center was released in December last year as part of a prisoner exchange.
The All-Star announcement comes on the same day that the Mercury fired head coach Vanessa Nygaard.
Despite Griner’s successful return to play this season, the Mercury holds the WNBA’s worst record with two wins and 10 losses.
Assistant coach Nikki Blue will take over as interim head coach of the team for the remainder of the season, the team said.
Griner – who for years had played during the WNBA off-season for a Russian women’s basketball team – was detained in February 2022 and sentenced to nine years in prison under drug-smuggling charges after Russian authorities found cannabis oil in her luggage.
Since her return last year, she has told reporters that she would never go overseas to play basketball again, unless she made the US team.
Griner won her Olympic gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Games. The 2024 Olympics are in Paris next July and August.
White Woman Who Killed Black Mother For Knocking On Her Door Will Not Face Murder Charges
A white woman who fatally shot a Black mother for knocking on her door will not face murder charges.
On Monday, State Attorney Bill Gladson shared the grim conclusion, confirming that 58-year-old Susan Lorincz would not face second-degree murder charges for killing her neighbor, Ajike “AJ” Owens, in Ocala, Florida. The mother of four repeatedly knocked on Lorincz’s door to confront her over hitting one of her children with a roller skate. Lorincz had previously called the kids racial slurs, which created tension between her and Owens. Sadly, things boiled over on June 2nd when Lorincz fired a shot through her front door, striking Owens, who had her son standing next to her.
Lorincz was officially charged Monday with one count of manslaughter with a firearm and one count of assault, State Attorney William Gladson said in a news release. She faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted on the charges, according to the statement.
Prosecutors said they “carefully examined the viability of both second-degree murder and manslaughter with a firearm, both first degree felonies.” However, they are not confident that they’ll secure a win with the harsher charges. Gladson shared that in charging the shooter with murder, the state would have to prove Lorincz had a “depraved mind” at the time of the shooting.
“As deplorable as the defendant’s actions were in this case, there is insufficient evidence to prove this specific and required element of second-degree murder,” the statement read. “While some may not agree with that decision, I can assure you that the decision was thoughtful and made without consideration of any factors other than the specific facts of this terrible crime.”
Lorincz was arrested on June 8 on original charges of manslaughter with a firearm, culpable negligence, battery, and two counts of assault. Lorincz claims she was scared for her life when Owens came to confront her, though there is no evidence to suggest the concerned mom was coming to harm Lorincz.
Owens’ family is hurt about the State Attorney failing to upgrade the charges, but they are happy that they were properly informed of the decision.
“The family is devastated, but it’s something I tried to prepare them for,” stated the Owens’ family attorney, Anthony Thomas.
Ashley Everett Explains Why She’s Not on Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour, Says None of Internet Rumors Are True
Beyoncé’s longtime dance captain Ashley Everett is setting the record straight about her eyebrow-raising absence on the Renaissance Tour.
Many online sleuths have speculated that the stage mates had a falling out. Others believed she was fired in favor of newer dancers. However, Everett says none of that is the case. Instead, the 34-year-old is ready to focus on new opportunities after performing alongside the superstar for 17 years.
“Obviously, working with Beyoncé has been incredible, and I’ve learned so much from her,” Everett told People. She admitted that during the pandemic, she realized that her entire adult life had been dedicated to working with Queen Bey. Everett first appeared in the videos for “Get Me Bodied” and “Greenlight” from Bey’s 2006 “B’Day” album. From there, she remained a staple in nearly every major performance.
She began exploring other ventures, many of which involved television, recently appearing on “The Masked Singer” and “Good Trouble.” The renowned dancer has also been in the latest commercials for brands such as Nissan, Home Goods, and Pepsi, alongside singer Bad Bunny. Another passion of hers that was birthed during her time at home was her lifestyle company, Cachet Brands, which she shares with her partner, Jay Burton. The brand specializes in various CBD wellness products. Additionally, Everett has found success as a fitness guru, offering her FitChoreo workout program to her 570,000 Instagram followers. Needless to say, Everett remains booked and busy. While the entrepreneur may be enjoying her time away from tour life, she remains an avid supporter of Bey and is extremely grateful for their time together.

Another passion of hers that was birthed during her time at home was her lifestyle company, Cachet Brands, which she shares with her partner, Jay Burton.
