Todd took to Instagram to share pictures of Ace’s personalized trailer for an upcoming Christmas movie he will be in, Favorite Son Christmas.

“We always say if I knew what I know now when I was younger I would … just pass it on to your kids and watch what they do! Rumble young man rumble! @acetucker I’m so proud of you,” Todd captioned the post.
During the recent season of RHOA, Kandi said that Ace was taking an acting class because of his growing interest in theater.

A network has yet to announce the film, A Favorite Son, which premiered on BET+ in 2021, hinting that it might be a Christmas spinoff to the original movie, which was adapted from a novel.

#NewMusic from Marshall Jefferson Feat Rudimental & House Gospel Choir 'FWD'
Marshall Jefferson is back on the scene and taps Rudimental and the House Gospel Choir to help him spread a positive message on his latest single "FWD."

"FWD" has a classic house sound with Marshall supplying bumpin' bass line, quick hi-hats, synth and blasts of horns comprising the song's primary sound bed. Rounding it all at are Rudimental and House Gospel Choir. The UK based band takes the lead vocals, with them supplying the song's driving principle from very beginning as they chant, "Forward is the motion / The path is negotiable."

That chant leads us into the groove as things pick up at a breakneck pace as it picks up elements of jazz, soul and disco along the way. It's when the House Gospel Choir is featured more prominently, though, that things really take flight. A call-and-response style is utilized that takes things in a church direction as the song reaches its triumphant climax.

#HipHopNews: J. Cole Sparks New Album Rumors
The Real may be coming back in 2023. J. Cole appears to be gearing up for a new project. In the first days of the new year, the reclusive Dreamville rapper cleared out all his Instagram posts, fueling rumors that new music is imminent.

Fans may remember that Cole previously cleared his Instagram in January 2019, just days before releasing “Middle Child” off the Dreamville compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III. He also purged his IG shortly before the surprise release of his 2018 album KOD.

Cole’s last studio album, The Off-Season, was released in May 2021. There is speculation that his next album could be It’s a Boy.

Back in late 2020, he shared a photo of his notebook, which contained his future plans including The Off-Season, followed by a project called It’s a Boy. It culminates with his possible final album The Fall Off.
During a May 2021 interview with Kevin Durant’s podcast “The ETCs,” Cole confirmed that It’s a Boy would be his next solo release.
While Cole didn’t release a project of his own in 2022, Dreamville dropped its surprise mixtape D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape in March featuring JID, Ari Lennox, EarthGang, and the rest of the Dreamville gang. He also collaborated with artists including YG, Smino, Benny the Butcher, and BIA.

The new music could arrive in time for Cole’s Dreamville Festival, which returns to Raleigh, North Carolina for a third year in April.

Gabrielle Union Reveals She Felt 'Entitled' to Cheat on First Husband Chris Howard After His Affairs
Gabrielle Union is happily married to Dwayne Wade, but her first marriage to NFL Chris Howard was not exactly a cup of tea for either of them. The 50-year-old actress admitted that she and her ex were not faithful to each other — like, at all.

She was married to the athlete from 2001 until 2006 and treated the union as “such a stupid relationship that should never have gotten out of the dating phase,” on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard. “I definitely was not getting Wife of the Year Awards,” Union revealed. “In our first marriage, neither one of us felt like the marriage should get in the way of our dating.” It became retaliation infidelity on both sides and the Being Mary Jane star felt “entitled” to enjoy her own affairs.

“I was like, Oh, that’s what you’re doing?” Union explained of her back-and-forth cheating strategy with Howard. “You’re gonna feel this one.” She eventually came to understand that she was internally missing something within herself and became “horny for validation and having certain kinds of guys like me and want me.” Union added, “[I wanted to] feel like I was worthy and good and valuable and deserving.”

She and Howard sought couples’ counseling where the therapist made a sharp observation about them not having anything in common except an interest in “other people … so why don’t you just go be with other people.” At that point, Union needed to heal herself and not stay in a marriage that was damaging to both of them — it was quite the lesson learned.

The Fake teen doctor Malachi Love-Robinson, now 25, sentenced to prison for new scam
A serial grifter who gained national infamy as a teenager when he impersonated a doctor to defraud a patient is heading back to prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $10,000 from his employer.

Malachi Love-Robinson, 25, received a sentence of over two years and four months last week after pleading guilty in Palm Beach County, Florida, to grand theft and organized scheme to defraud.

Court documents show that in 2020, Robinson was working as a salesperson for a company that connects shippers with trucking companies. Instead of having customers make payments to the company, Love-Robinson would have them send the money to accounts he controlled.

Love-Robinson first came to national attention in 2016 as an 18-year-old when he was arrested after opening The New Birth New Life Medical Center, identifying himself as “Dr. Love.”

He stole $30,000 from a patient in her 80s during house calls and an additional $20,000 from a doctor. He was arrested after he examined and prescribed treatment to an undercover police officer who was impersonating a patient.

Later that year while out on bail, Love-Robinson was arrested in Virginia after he tried to buy a Jaguar automobile with a stolen credit card.

He pleaded guilty in both cases and was released from prison in 2019.

Shannon Sharpe Didn’t Show Up for ‘Undisputed’ After Skip Bayless’ Reaction to Damar Hamlin Injury
Shannon Sharpe was absent from Tuesday’s episode of FS1’s Undisputed after co-host Skip Bayless’ reaction to Damar Hamlin’s hospitalization, according to TMZ.

The outlet reports Sharpe skipped today’s show because he was “upset” with Skip’s tweets, which Bayless posted shortly after Buffalo Bills Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field during Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Shannon also told the network he “doesn’t know if he will return to work on Wednesday.”

Bayless sparked backlash by questioning whether the NFL was considering cancelling the game due to the situation, which has since left Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition.

“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game—but how?” Bayless wrote. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome…which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

Bayless opened Tuesday’s show with a monologue in which he apologized for how his tweet came across.

“I apologize for what we’re going to set out to do here today, if it offends anyone, because we’re gonna try to do the show pretty much as we usually do the show. I’ll admit up front, I’m still shook up by what happened last night to Damar Hamlin,” the 71-year-old said. “In fact, I’m still wrecked. In fact, I’m not sure I’m capable of doing this show today. After barely sleeping on it last night, I decided to give it a try.”

He continued, “We wrestled through much of the night whether to even do a show today because it felt like in our mind, we almost can’t win with this. Because the last thing we want to try to do is come off as insensitive to what this young man is going through in a life-or-death situation. … As this show goes on, we’re going to try and talk about a little bit of sports, but we’re going to continue to talk about what happened to this young man last night and try to sort back through it with help from you and the audience.”

Sports columnist Skip Bayless’ co-host skipped their Fox Sports broadcast amid the backlash over a tweet posted by Mr Bayless about the collapse of Damar Hamlin.

Some viewers of Undisputed believe that co-host Shannon Sharpe didn’t appear on Tuesday’s programme because he’s disappointed in Mr Bayless, who’s facing a furious backlash over one of his tweets after Mr Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills collapsed during a game on Monday night.

Mr Hamlin was taken off the field in critical condition and taken to hospital after collapsing on the field.
“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how?” the Fox Sportspundit tweeted at 9.30pm on Monday, before the game was ultimately suspended. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

Mr Bayless’s tweet has been viewed more than 115 million times as of Tuesday morning, according to Twitter.

“I respect Shannon Sharpe for not Showing up to Today’s Undisputed,” one viewer wrote.
“That boy Skip fighting for his life. Glad Shannon didn’t show up. What Skip did last night was disgusting,” another said.

“I’m still shook up by what happened last night to Damar Hamlin,” Mr Bayless said on the show on Tuesday morning.

Brian Lindner wrote for Penn Live that Mr Bayless “has made his money by being a living, breathing troll who slings hot takes against the wall with the hope they might stick, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that he just couldn’t bring himself to be completely human in the moments following the frightening injury”.

He later added that “nothing is more important than that young man’s health”.

“That was the point of my last tweet. I’m sorry if I was misunderstood but his health is all that matters. Again, everything else is irrelevant. I prayed for him and will continue to,” he added.
“I don’t believe it. If no one said anything underneath your last tweet, you wouldn’t have the same reaction with this one,” Kaleb Earls responded.

Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins wrote “you’re a sick individual. Real talk”.
Dez Bryant, former Cowboys receiver, tweeted “f*** you Skip Bayless”.
“WE NEED TO CANCEL @RealSkipBayless ASAP!!!” he added.
Mr Hamlin, 24, received CPR for 10 minutes before he was carried off the field.
“Skip Bayless is a Ducking Idiot man,” Devlin Hodges, a former NFL quarterback, wrote.
Isaiah Thomas, a former NBA player, wrote to Mr Bayless, “I hope they fire you bro!!! For you to even THINK of the game is very sad”.

“One of the worst tweets in sports media history,” Kyle Sockwell wrote.

Mr Bayless initially tweeted: “Not exactly sure what happened to Damar Hamlin. Players on both teams are shaken. Ambulance out on the field. CPR administered. Can’t remember play being stopped for this length of time. Just said a prayer for him and his family.”

“I’ve seen so many horrific injuries suffered on football fields yet never have I seen a reaction like this. In every other situation I witnessed or covered, the game always went on fairly quickly. The attitude was, ‘Hey, that’s football.’ For these players, this was DIFFERENT,” he added.

“If @FOXSports doesn’t pull @RealSkipBayless off the air this morning there is 0 accountability. He is a sick man who has made a career off saying outlandish stuff and went too far this time. Show some balls,” one Twitter user said.

At 1.48am on Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills tweeted that “Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition”.

Responding to Mr Bayless’s most-viewed tweet of the evening, former Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander wrote that he was “really trying to do too many things in this tweet. Log off for a while”.

“Come on Skip, this is life vs a game. I’m sorry but this is your worst take ever,” Dusty Baker of KSBY wrote.

“A platform as big as yours and you choose to concern yourself with a game over someone’s life? You are one of the worst out here. Shame on you,” one Twitter user wrote.
Responding to Mr Bayless’s follow-up tweet, one Twitter user said: “Ain’t never seen Skip ever go back on a tweet, them Fox Execs put in #ThatCall.”

“His bosses called up and said you better tweet to clarify, Skip, or else...and voila. Capitalism 101,” Wajahat Ali wrote.
“This is what you tweet when your agent, your boss, and the crisis management firm text it to your phone,” Mitchell Robinson added.

James 'Buster' Corley, co-founder of Dallas-based Dave & Buster's, dead at 72
James "Buster" Corley, one of the co-founders of the successful "eatertainment" company Dave & Buster's, has died at 72.
Corley died Monday, Jan. 2, at his home near White Rock Lake.
The Dallas Police Department said that officers who responded to the scene found a man with an "apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound." Police said they then took him to a hospital, where he died. The family later confirmed to WFAA that the man was Corley.

"Buster Corley had a stroke four months ago that caused severe damage to the communication and personality part of his brain," Corley's daughter Kate Corley said in a statement to WFAA. "The family asks for privacy during this time."

A representative with Dave & Buster's said Corley was an "innovative and creative force" in a statement provided to Press.

"His pioneering spirit and steadfast belief that ‘everybody is somebody’ set the foundation for bringing food and games to millions of Dave & Buster’s guests over the past 40 years," said a company spokesperson. "Buster’s passion for hospitality, his demand for excellence, and the deep care he had for his team members were unparalleled. Our hearts go out to his family at this difficult time and while we will miss his wise counsel and his easy laugh, the legacy he and Dave built endures.”

Corley and business partner David Corriveau opened the first Dave & Buster's in Dallas in 1982.
Corley had opened a restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas, in the late 1970s, while Corriveau had opened a place for entertainment and games just a few doors down. According to Dave & Buster's website, the two noticed people often rotated between their establishments, so they decided to join in a new venture that combined a restaurant with entertainment.

They found an empty, 40,000-square-foot warehouse in Dallas located along the two-mile area along I-35E around Walnut Hill known as "Restaurant Row" to try their idea out. They named it Dave & Buster's -- and not Buster & Dave's -- because Corriveau won a coin toss to have his name come first.

Since its founding, Dave & Buster's has opened more than 140 locations across the country.

In 2022, Restaurant Business reported on the company's $835 million deal to acquire food-and-game chain Main Event, which is also based in Dallas. While Dave & Buster's is geared toward young adults, Main Event is more geared toward families and young children.

Corriveau died in 2015 at the age of 63.

Joe Exotic Finalizes Dillon Passage Divorce, Two Years After Split
Joe Exotic has finalized divorce from Dillon Passage almost two years after their split. The 59-year-old "Tiger King" star tied the knot with his 27-year-old lover in December 2017 but the marriage crumbled and divorce papers were filed in March 2021 after Joe was jailed for a murder-for-hire plot against his rival Carole Baskin as well as animal abuse charges.

Now the marriage was officially dissolved on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 with a judge in Santa Rosa County signing off on the paperwork, TMZ.com reports. While Joe underwent treatment for prostate cancer which is now in remission, divorce proceedings had previously been halted.

After the couple's split, Joe moved on with John Graham, whom he met in prison in Fort Worth, Texas and they had even been planning to marry before the relationship faltered when John was released.

Joe - who is serving 21 years behind bars - is now said to be dating again with his attorney recently revealing he has revived his relationship with ex-boyfriend Seth Posey. Joe is said to have previously dated Seth for a matter of months towards the end of 2021.

Lawyer Autumn Blackledge told ETOnline.com, "Joe is thankful that Seth is back in his life. They are both taking things slowly and just enjoying the time to reconnect."

Blackledge added, "Joe Exotic, the Tiger King, is this larger-than-life entertainer to us, and it's hard to remember that he is a real person with real challenges and needs. At the end of the day, Joe wants what everyone wants, to love and to be loved and understood."

Al Roker's 'Today' Return Date Announced
Al Roker is returning to "Today". The 68-year-old weatherman has been absent from the show since November after being hospitalized with a blood clot in his leg that travelled to his lungs but his co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb were delighted to announce on Tuesday, January 3, that he'll be back on the NBC morning show on Friday, January 6.

Savannah said, "We have some great news to share this morning. Al is coming back to the show." Hoda added, "He'll be here Friday. He'll be right here in Studio 1A. This is his place. He'll be in his seat right where he belongs. We cannot wait for that."

Savannah concluded, "Not the same without Al. Our sunshine is coming back Friday morning."

Al made an appearance on the show via videolink last month and admitted his health issues, which saw him return to hospital after being released in time for Thanksgiving, had proven to be a "tough slog."

He said, "It's been a tough slog, I'm not gonna deny this. It's been the hardest one yet, and you know I've had my share of surgeries. I'm doing physical therapy every day, occupational therapy. I've got to just get my strength back. I feel good. I feel strong. Every day I feel a little bit better."

Al's health battles hit headlines in November when he explained his temporary absence on the NBC morning show. He told his Instagram followers, "Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs. After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery."
Al's health woes forced him to miss Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years.

The broadcaster, who has Courtney, 35, with first wife Alice Bell, and Leila, 24, and Nicolas, 20, with second spouse Deborah Roberts, has been open about his health struggles over the years, including an emergency carpal tunnel surgical procedure in 2018 and a hip replacement the following year.

In November 2020, he shared a prostate cancer diagnosis with viewers, warning the disease, which he beat after surgery, was "a little aggressive" despite him catching it early.

Cleveland Cavalier's Donovan Mitchell scores 71 points in last night's win
Donovan Mitchell put on a historic show last night (Jan. 2) in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ shooting guard scored a franchise-record of 71 as he led his team to a 145-134 overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls.

His scoring effort is the most points scored in an NBA game since the Los Angeles Lakers’ late legend Kobe Bryant dropped 81 against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 22, 2006. Wilt Chamberlin, another late basketball superstar, holds the NBA record for most points scored in a game when he scored 100 points for Philadelphia against New York on March 2, 1962.

“To be there in the record book with guys like Wilt is truly humbling,” said Mitchell, who the Cavs acquired from the Utah Jazz last offseason. “I always believed I could be one of the best players in the league. I’m speechless and blessed to be in the company of that greatness.”

Cleveland head coach J.B. Bickerstaff also spoke on the history making of his 6-foot-1 guard.

“We were treated tonight to one of the greatest performances in the history of the game,” Bickerstaff said. “Every single play that he made was a play that was necessary. Donovan has never put himself above the team, so how can you not root for a guy like that? I told everyone else to get out of the way.”

The coach was right. The Cavaliers trailed by as many as 21 points until Mitchell, who scored only five points in the first quarter, began his tear. He scored an additional 11 points in the second period and an astonishing 42 points in the second half. With 4.4 seconds left, the 26-year-old guard’s team trailed by two points. He then purposely missed his second free-throw attempt, grabbed his rebound and scored a layup to tie the game at 130. He scored 13 points in overtime and led his team to a win. Along with the 71 points, he added 11 assists and 8 rebounds.

Mitchell is the only player in NBA history to score 71 and 11 assists. He is also only the seventh player in NBA history to score 70 or more in a game. He now joins Chamberlain, who accomplished it six times, while Bryant, David Thompson, Elgin Baylor, David Robinson and the Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker each reached the historic milestone one time.

Marilee Fiebig Speaks Out About Ex TJ Holmes' 'Lack of Discretion' & 'Respect' Amid His Amy Robach Relationship
Lawyer Marilee Fiebig is speaking out – via her attorney – about the end of her marriage to Good Morning America‘s TJ Holmes after he began a relationship with his GMA co-host Amy Robach.

If you missed it, back in November, it was discovered that Amy and TJ had been carrying on a secret relationship while both married to other people.
Since news of Amy and T.J.‘s relationship broke, their lives, as well as the lives of their respective spouses – Marilee and Andrew Shue, have been thrust into the spotlight and so much speculation has ensued.

Now, Marilee is speaking out through her lawyer, Stephanie Lehman.
Marilee‘s lawyer told Daily Mail, “During the holiday season and in light of the challenging times, Marilee‘s sole focus has remained on the overall best interest of her 9-year-old daughter. To that end T.J.’s lawyer and I have been working together to move their divorce forward privately, expeditiously and as amicably as possible. Notwithstanding, we continue to be disappointed by T.J’s lack of discretion, respect and sensitivity toward Marilee and the party’s daughter. Marilee has been touched by the outpouring of support and looks forward to a new beginning in this new year.”

T.J. and Marilee married in March 2010 and welcomed their daughter Sabine in January 2013. T.J. was previously married to Amy Ferson, whom he divorced in 2007. They share daughter Brianna and son Jaiden.

Todd Chrisley Hits Back at Claims He's Gay & Had Affair with Former Business Associate
Todd Chrisley is addressing all of the allegations about his sexuality. During the latest episode of his Chrisley Confessions podcast, the 53-year-old reality star hit back at claims that he’s gay and addressed his former business partner Mark Braddock claiming that they had an intimate relationship.

“What’s insulted me the most is that, out of all these 54 years, for me to finally be accused of being with a man, it would be someone who looked like Mark Braddock,” Todd sarcastically said. “A toad. Someone that looks like a thumb. Someone who says he’s only had sex with his wife and me.”

“Let me you tell something. I could understand if you’d have had sex with me, it would [make] you crazy. I get that. There have been many who have been dick-notized by your daddy,” Todd told his son and guest co-host Chase Chrisley.

Todd and Chase, 26, then talked about how Mark‘s story has changed multiple times since he first made the allegations last year, and Todd said that the most insulting part of the allegations for him was Mark saying, “It was just something he wanted to try.”
“I ain’t that small spoon at Baskin-Robbins. I’m the whole scoop,” Todd said with a laugh. “You don’t get to just sample here.”

Todd went on to say that if it were George Clooney or Brad Pitt claiming to have had sex with him, “I ain’t gonna be as embarrassed by it.”

However, the fact that the allegations are that Todd had an affair with Mark was just too far for him.
“That is the one thing that is the most insulting,” Todd concluded about the gay affair allegations. “To say that I couldn’t pull something better than that… there’s better to be had by Todd Chrisley than that.”

Jeremy Renner Speaks Out for First Time From Hospital Bed Following Accident
Actor Jeremy Renner is speaking out to give fans an update on his health and to thank them for their love and support following his snowplowing accident.
The 51-year-old shared an up-close selfie from the hospital bed that showed his visible injuries. He said in the caption, “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

Earlier this Tuesday, Renner’s publicist, Samantha Mast, shared more details on the accident that sent Renner to the hospital. She revealed that the actor was near his Nevada home, clearing driveways before the incident. He was in the middle of moving snow from his driveway on Sunday so that his family members could depart his residence after they celebrated the holidays together. “He was also helping clear out the snow of his neighbor’s home as everyone up there had been without power for 24 hours and there had been a large snowfall. So he was helping everyone in trying to clear out the snow so people could get out,” the rep added.

Meanwhile, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said on Tuesday during a press conference that Renner was run over by his snowcat, a device to remove snow, after the machine started to roll away when he was not in the driver’s seat. It was said that he was injured during an attempt to get back onto the snow at.
As a result of the accident, Renner sustained blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries from the New Year’s Day incident. He was airlifted to a hospital where he underwent surgery on Jan. 2. From there, he remained in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition at the time.

In a previous statement, Renner’s rep said: “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

Video Shows Dana Slapping Wife on NYE, UFC Boss Issues Apology
UFC president Dana White has issued an apology for a physical altercation that took place between him and his wife on New Year’s Eve.
White spoke with TMZ on Monday about the incident, which was captured on video and saw White repeatedly slapping his wife during a verbal argument inside a night club. It’s worth noting White’s wife Anne slapped Dana first, before he returned the favor.

“I’m in Cabo, Mexico for the holidays with my family, and my wife and I were out with family on New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately that’s what happened,” White told TMZ, as seen in the video below. “I’m one of the guys, you’ve heard me say for years. There’s never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman. And now here I am on TMZ talking about it.”
“There was definitely a lot of alcohol, but there’s no excuse,” White continued. “I’m literally making no excuses for this thing at all. It’s never happened before. It’s the first time that it’s ever happened, and people are going to say what they’re going to say. It is what it is. And whatever people do say, it’s deserved. I deserve it. It happened.”

White added that he and Anne have made up, and have apologized to their children.
“I don’t know why it happened,” he said. “My wife and I have apologized to each other. We’ve apologized to our kids.”

White, 53, has been married to his wife Anne since 1996. The couple has had three children together.
Anne issued her own public apology to TMZ.

“Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years,” Anne said. “To say this is out of character for him is an understatement — nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides.

“We’ve talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids,” she added.

NYC subway shooter Frank James  pleads guilty to terrorism charges
The man who opened fire on a crowded New York City subway train last April and wounded 10 people pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to terrorism charges, admitting his intention “was to cause serious bodily injury to the people on the train.”

After initially pleading not guilty last May, Frank James, 63, on Tuesday admitted to 10 counts – one for each gunshot victim – of committing a terrorist attack and other violence against a mass transportation system and vehicle carrying passengers and employees. He also pleaded guilty to one count of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.

James’ plea comes nearly nine months after prosecutors said he put on a gas mask, set off a smoke device and fired a handgun at least 33 times on a crowded N train traveling toward the 36th Street station in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood on April 12. Along with the 10 people wounded by gunfire, others were injured by the smoke. In all, 29 people were hospitalized.

“While it was not my intention to cause death, I was aware that a death or deaths could occur as a result of my discharging a firearm in such an enclosed space as a subway car,” James said.

In a statement after the hearing, James’ attorneys said he has accepted responsibility for the shooting “since he turned himself in to law enforcement.”

“A just sentence in this case will carefully balance the harm he caused with his age, his health, and the Bureau of Prisons’ notoriously inadequate medical care,” attorneys Mia Eisner-Grynberg and Amanda David said in their statement.

James is expected to be sentenced at a later date. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, but prosecutors, who have argued James aimed to kill when he fired, are willing to recommend a sentence in the range of 31 to 37 years in prison if James shows enough remorse, per a letter from Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, to District Court Judge William Kuntz.

If James “does not clearly demonstrate acceptance of responsibility,” prosecutors will recommend a sentence of 40 years to life, the letter said.

In a statement on Tuesday, Peace said the guilty plea was an “important step toward holding James fully accountable and helping the victims of the defendant’s violence and our great city heal.”

The shooting rattled the city, which was already on edge as commuters started to return to the subway following the Covid-19 pandemic.

One of the wounded, Hourari Benkada, 27, said he was on the N train and sat next to a man with a duffel bag and reflective vest who let off a “smoke bomb.”
“And all you see (is) smoke – black smoke … going off, and then people bum-rushing to the back,” Benkada said. “This pregnant woman was in front of me. I was trying to help her. I didn’t know there were shots at first. I just thought it was a black smoke bomb.

“She said, ‘I’m pregnant with a baby.’ I hugged her. And then the bum-rush continued. I got pushed, and that’s when I got shot in the back of my knee.”

James was arrested a day later in Manhattan’s Lower East Side after calling in a tip on himself. Items left behind at the scene, including a credit card, a set of keys, a construction jacket and a gun – were tied back to James by investigators.

The accused has a lengthy criminal history and had posted rambling videos on a YouTube channel in which he talked about violence and mass shootings, and said he’s thought about killing people who have presumably hurt him.

In one posted just a day before the shootings, James talked about someone who engaged in violence and ended up in jail. He said he could identify but talked about the consequences.

“I’ve been through a lot of s**t, where I can say I wanted to kill people. I wanted to watch people die right in front of my f**king face immediately. But I thought about the fact that, hey man, I don’t want to go to no f**king prison.”

In another video posted in February criticizing New York Mayor Eric Adams’ plan to address safety and homelessness in the subway, James spoke about his negative experience with city health workers during a “crisis of mental health back in the ’90s ‘80s and ‘70s.”

Southwest Airlines Offering 25,000 Reward Points For Delayed and Canceled Flights
Facing a mountain of backlash and possible legal action, Southwest Airlines is offering travelers 25,000 reward points.
Between December 22nd to January 2nd, thousands of flights were either canceled or delayed. Many factors played a role in the cancellations, including company-wide staffing and operational issues. Southwest initially linked the delays to the harsh snowstorm that swept parts of the U.S. However, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, said other airlines faced similar challenges but were able to bounce back quickly.

However, Southwest’s delays created chaos, with luggage shipped to destinations without passengers. People were left stranded in airports with nowhere to go for days.
But now, as they continue to reunite travelers with their luggage, the airline announced the 25,000 points reward, which equates to about $300. The offer will never expire and carries no blackout dates. Southwest CEO Bob Jordan apologized to impacted customers and promised that the company was doing everything to make things right, calling the points a “gesture of goodwill.”
Jordan also stated that additional refunds are being processed with “great urgency.” Customers who had to spend money on hotels, meals, or other means of transportation following the cancellations are encouraged to email receipts to Southwest for reimbursement.

Southwest spokesman Chris Mainz told Fortune that while the company has a great track record, it’s “not perfect.” However, they are committed to regaining customer trust. Even with these remedies, one proposed class action lawsuit has already been filed on December 30th. The passenger claims Southwest failed to provide swift refunds despite leaving customers stranded.
