As she gears up for the Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles graces the cover of Health’s July/August issue, opening up on being the greatest of all time, taking care of her mental health, and being a Black gymnast in a sport that was, for a long time, devoid of diversity.
On hearing that the Olympics were postponed in 2020: “It was a whirlwind of emotions—I couldn’t believe the news,” she says. “I was sad. I was angry. I was annoyed. But I also knew it needed to happen to keep everyone safe and get the virus under control.” “I knew my coaches would make sure I was ready—no matter how long the postponement was,” says Simone. “Of course, another year of training on your body really takes a toll. But I just knew I’d be ready.”
On why it’s meaningful that her parents own a training center: “Representation matters, and we want to inspire the next generation to pursue their passion,” Simone says. “Kids can come in and we will be training in the back, and they can see we are just like them. It helps them understand they can do it too.”
On making self-care essential with her support system: “For a while, I saw a psychologist once every two weeks,” she says. “That helped me get in tune with myself so that I felt more comfortable and less anxious.” “I really like to relax,” she says with a laugh. “So I’ll hang by the pool with my boyfriend, or have my family come over.”
On advice she’d give to her younger self: “To not be so stubborn and to be a little bit happier—to know that it’s not over just because something happens in one day. You can keep pushing.” Has she taken her own advice? She sure has—well, part of it, at least. “I’m definitely happy,” she says. “I guess I can still be pretty stubborn.”

NeNe Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta isn't ruling out a possible comeback to the franchise. Even though she has stated in the past she would never come back, the first rule of reality TV is never to say never.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta fans were shocked when Leakes announced that she was leaving the very popular franchise after 13 years. The Swag Boutique owner made her exit as dramatic as possible as she took to her YouTube to thank fans and break the bad news. She explained she came to a decision after she and Bravo could not come to a contract deal during negotiations. After the negotiations failed, she went onto social media and blasted the network for its lack of diversity. The reality star eventually revealed that she was forced out.
Leakes recently sat down with Hollywood Unlocked to share her thoughts on a possible return. Many Bravo viewers thought she might have burned too many bridges on her way out since she made some strong claims against Andy Cohen, an executive producer and the face of Bravo. She told host Jason Lee, “I’d love to have a conversation because I am all about closure.” The Atlanta franchise has been doing well, and fans think the network would be looking at other franchises like The Real Housewives of Orange County to mix up.
Leakes then opened up about her thoughts of a possible return, sharing, “I don’t know that I would or would not, I can’t answer that. We have to talk about some things behind closed doors.” Even though the statement was a bit lacking, Leakes did leave the door open. Fans have missed her antics and golden one-liners and wouldn’t be opposed to seeing the OG back with a peach in hand.
Since leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes had her hand in multiple honey pots trying to keep her name out there. Along with launching her own YouTube channel, but none were picked up. She has also opened up a lounge in Atlanta called The Linnethia that sells cocktails and nibbles. Fans would love a good shake-up and hope the network would consider bringing back some old favorites like Phaedra Parks or Shereé Whitfield as well. There have been rumors that Kim Zolciak Biermann is going to be asked back, and we all know how well she and Leakes got along.
#MusicNews: John Legend Announces ‘Bigger Love Tour’ Dates!
John Legend released his seventh album, Bigger Love, amid the global pandemic last year, leaving him unable to support it with his planned 2020 summer tour. But starting September 1 in Atlanta, the EGOT winner will make his return to tour life, with 14 additional stops across the country.
For most of September, Legend’s Bigger Love Tour will draw crowds in cities such as Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Los Angeles. It will conclude on September 25 in Phoenix at the Arizona Federal Theatre.
Legend isn’t going on the road alone. Joining Legend on tour is The War and Treaty, a married duo from the world of Americana.

At the 2021 Grammys in March, Legend won Best R&B Album for Bigger Love. It makes him the most awarded male artist in this category, with three wins.

LeBron James to Switch Jersey Number Next Season!
LeBron James has switched his jersey number from #23 back to his former #6.
The Los Angeles Lakers star is now going back to #6 beginning next season. LeBron originally wanted to return to #6 back in 2019 when Anthony Davis joined the Lakers. The plan was to gift Davis with #23. However, Nike stepped in and stopped the number trade, a now-famous decision that they claimed would cost the company too much money.
Davis and James put the exchange on hold for a while, but it is now moving forward. Only this time, AD will not be taking #23 and will keep his #3.
One potential reason why James wants to go back to #6 might be because he rocks the number in his role in the new “Space Jam: A New Legacy” film. However, that has not been confirmed by the NBA, Warner Bros, or James himself.
The NBA usually requires players to provide more than a year’s notice if they wish to change their jersey numbers.
James first switched to #6 while with the Heat in 2010. The 36-year-old did it out of homage to Michael Jordan, whose #23 was retired by the Heat earlier in the decade. He also made the switch to honor Julius Erving.
Nevertheless, the new jerseys are sure to be a bestseller as fans rush to update theirs.

Halle Berry responded to a Twitter user’s question on Wednesday regarding how she felt about being referenced in “damn near every rap song.”
Everyone from Kanye West (“New Workout Plan”) to J. Cole (“Higher”) to Kendrick Lamar (“Money Trees”) have mentioned Berry in their songs, but in 2018, the actress’ reach went to the football field when former Rams quarterback Jared Goff used her name as an audible. Halle was understandably confused as to why she was being attached to this particular change in the playcall.
Halle went on to share a portion of her appearance on Hot Ones where she was asked about her favorite rap song name-drop, and the Oscar winner explained why she couldn’t pick one over another.
“I think of these references, like my children, in a way,” she responded. “There’s no way I could pick one. I love all these artists. I’m always flattered when any one of them include me, and that they still remember me, or even know who I am. So, to pick one would be like picking my daughter over my son. I love them all.”
Later this year, Netflix will premiere the MMA drama Bruised where Berry makes her directorial debut. Following its screening at the Toronto Film Festival, the streaming giant shelled out close to $20 million, per Variety, to acquire the rights to the film.

As reported by MadameNoire, it all started June 6 when Instagram’s @alltruetea posted a video recap of some of RHOP’s wildest arguments. IG user @1classyladydc commented underneath the post, “This reel shows how reckless Ashley’s mouth has been and still is. Yet Candiace was the villain and ganged up on by so many fans. It’s crazy how Ashley was in my opinion worse but people want to ignore that. I wonder why????🤔 ”
Dillard replied to the comment, claiming she receives more backlash from viewers than Ashley due to colorism. She wrote, “Because she’s light-skinned. There. It was said. I said it. Now, let’s see how fast it gets around.”

Willie Garson, Mario Cantone And More Join ‘Sex And The City’ Revival!
The boys are back in town. Despite not having Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, almost all of the original “Sex and the City” gang will be back for the revival series, “And Just Like That.”
HBO Max announced Wednesday that Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson and Evan Handler will reprise their roles on the show. Cantone, 61, will bring back sassy event planner Anthony Marentino, who married Stanford Blatch, played by 57-year-old Garson. Eigenberg, 57, is returning as Steve Brady, along with 60-year-old Handler’s Harry Goldenblatt.
Previously announced cast members include Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Chris Noth and Sara Ramírez, who will play “a non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian that hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured,” according to HBO.
Apart from Cattrall’s absence, another notable character missing from this latest announcement is Jason Lewis’ hunky character, Smith Jerrod. The actor revealed recently that he was not asked back to the show.
“I have not, but I would be the last to know!” Lewis told the Daily Front Row. “As much as I appreciate the flattery, the conversation is about the girls.”
As for Carrie’s other man, Aidan Shaw, a Daily Mail report claimed that John Corbett would be returning, too, but the actor was not included in HBO’s latest batch.
Another relic tied to Aidan from the beloved HBO show was also unearthed recently, though. Sarah Jessica Parker brought back a fond memory for fans when she shared a photo of a memorable pair of Manolo Blahniks from an iconic Carrie Bradshaw moment.

During an interview with the Daily Blast Live, Monica says she had never even heard of the condition before she was diagnosed with it.
She shares, “well, I had never heard of it [endometriosis], just four years ago when I was diagnosed. Endometriosis is extremely painful, and women, monthly, feel like suffering is a part of the deal when you’re a woman. But you find out when you learn about endometriosis that we shouldn’t be in excruciating pain, and you learn that every age can suffer from endometriosis. So, once I was diagnosed, I initially had the first surgery and it was not like the second. The second was very hard. I was in the hospital for a week and I ended up having multiple blood transfusions. But now being on the mend and recovering I’ve become somewhat of an advocate because I want women to know what this disease is and I want them to know that there is hope for them.”

Megan Thee Stallion has announced that she’s footing the bill for a full-ride scholarship and will even serve as a guest lecturer at Long Island University.
According to TMZ, Jay-Z’s management firm Roc Nation has already announced a partnership with Long Island University for a School of Music Sports and Entertainment.
Now Megan, a Roc Nation client, is stepping up to cover 4 years of tuition for one lucky student to enroll in the Roc program.
“If I can use my resources to open doors and create opportunities for at least one student, then it’s a victory. It’s important that we encourage our students to pursue their passions and put them in positions to become the next game-changer in whichever fields they choose,” the “Hot Girl” rapper said.
In addition to donating the scholarship, Meg will also participate as a guest lecturer for L.I.U.’s “Industry Expert Speaker Series.”

Kanye West, who’s recently (once again) been made the subject of imminent new album rumors, is now the subject of rumors of a different variety.
On Wednesday, West was mentioned in sources-citing reports from the usual suspects about Irina Shayk, a model and actress who made history on the cover of Sports Illustrated back in 2011. And though it’s certainly none of our business, nor is it the business of anyone other than those who are directly involved, those reports are focused on claims of the vaguely romantic kind.
Per TMZ, for example, West and Shayk were spotted “out and about” in the Southeastern France region of Provence on Tuesday. Notably, Tuesday marked West’s 44th birthday. That report also claimed the two are “100 percent romantically together” though it’s “unclear how serious” that alleged togetherness is. According to the report, West and Shayk were seen walking the grounds of a luxury hotel with friends and on their own.
Additionally, Page Six cited multiple sources confirming the relationship, with an insider for the outlet noting they’ve been dating for a few weeks. “Kanye and Irina are seeing each other. It’s casual at the moment, but they are into each other,” their source said.

Harrison, who had already agreed to step away from hosting the next editions of “Bachelor in Paradise” and “The Bachelorette,” announced Tuesday he’s leaving the franchise entirely, following the fallout from his comments regarding racial issues in an interview about a contestant on the most recent season of “The Bachelor.”
Former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe are co-hosting the new season of “The Bachelorette,” which just premiered this week.
Harrison temporarily stepped aside from Matt James’ season of “The Bachelor” in February when fans called into question the show’s handling of race and criticized Harrison for an interview in which he appeared to defend contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s past racist actions. Harrison has apologized for the interview, saying he is “dedicated to getting educated on a more profound and productive level than ever before.”
“Chris Harrison is stepping aside as host of‘The Bachelor’ franchise,” ABC Entertainment and “Bachelor” studio Warner Horizon said in a joint statement Tuesday. “We are thankful for his many contributions over the past 20 years and wish him all the best on his new journey.”
In his own statement posted to Instagram, Harrison said: “I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of ‘The Bachelor’ franchise and now I’m excited to start a new chapter. New Allegations Claim Daunte Wright Was Violent Offender As Trial For Cop Who Killed Him is Pending!
As the trial for the officer who killed 20-year-old Daunte Wright spends, new allegations are attempting to paint the young man as a violent offender.
In multiple civil lawsuits filed against Wright’s estate, he has been accused of shooting his former classma]e. One of the suits claimed that 16-year-old Caleb Livingston was shot in the head at a gas station by Wright. He is now in a vegetative state.
Three weeks before his death, Wright and an accomplice allegedly shot former classmate Joshua Hodges in the leg and stole his car, according to the second civil lawsuit. Just weeks prior to his death, Wright and another individual shot a classmate in the leg and stole his car.
“[Wright] was accidentally killed by a Brooklyn Center police officer on April 11, 2021, approximately three weeks after his crimes against [Hodges],” the civil complaint states. “After that accidental death, a false narrative began establishing [Wright] as a young person that young people looked up to, when in fact a warrant was in place for his violations of law on bond for a past crime. [He] had previously chosen a life of crime.”
Wright’s legal team are speaking out against the allegations,
“The audacity of this attorney is disappointing, and we implore members of the community to not be drawn in by these opportunistic efforts to tear down Daunte and hurt his family,” they said. “Ploys like these aim to do one thing: distract. But our team will not be distracted in our fight for justice in this case and in our fight for justice for all marginalized communities.”
As of now, officials claim the police shooting was an accident.
