#RHOA: Porsha Williams' Sister Lauren Williams Clarifies Uninviting Kenya Moore!
Lauren Williams is setting the record straight on some invite drama on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
In the latest episode of RHOA, which aired on January 3, Lauren organized a surprise party for her sister, Porsha Williams, to celebrate her work in the Black Lives Matter movement. When Lauren called Cynthia Bailey to invite her to the event, the RHOA model asked if Kenya Moore was also invited. Lauren admitted that she didn't extend an invite to Kenya, but she said that Cynthia could bring her as a plus one.
"I mean, as long as she comes with good intentions," Lauren told Cynthia, who assured Porsha's sister that there would be no issues. "I just want this to be all good vibes."
Cynthia called Kenya immediately after she got off the phone with Lauren to tell her about the party. Kenya said that she would attend to "show my support as I would with any of you ladies celebrating a good cause."
Kenya said that she was "excited" to attend Porsha's surprise party as she spoke with Cynthia on the phone just before the event. However, Cynthia had some bad news for Kenya. "I got a text from Porsha's sister Lauren saying that she was feeling a little apprehensive about you coming," Cynthia said before sharing that Lauren had texted her, "I wouldn't want to even chance ruining this night for P. Please don't bring Kenya."
Kenya didn't appear to be happy about being uninvited from the party after receiving the news from Cynthia and later talking to Kandi Burruss about it over the phone. "Who would not take someone rescinding an invitation as an insult?" she said in an interview during the episode.
Lauren opened up about why she is so protective over Porsha in a post on Instagram on January 3. "She has had my back since sleeping in [the] hospital waiting room with me the night daddy died, to the day we buried him (pictured), to sleeping on the hospital floor while I was in labor with Bales, and everyday since then," Lauren wrote. "I’ll protect her at all costs everytime. That will never change."
She also clarified changing her mind about having Kenya at the surprise party in the post. "I changed my mind within 2 hours of hesitantly extending the invite," she explained. "My change of heart text was sent more than 24 hours before the party and only 2 hours after the invite."
Lauren also thanked everyone who helped her "make this surprise event purposeful, poignant, and peaceful" in another post on Instagram. "Honoring Porsha for all of her sacrifices and remembering the WHY during this movement was my goal and I couldn’t have done it without you," Lauren wrote in a separate Instagram post that featured more photos from the party.
Kandi praised Lauren's celebration of her sister and the Black Lives Matter movement, writing in a post on Instagram on January 3, "I love that [Lauren] put together a beautiful event to recognize [Porsha] for all her efforts to keep [Breonna Taylor]’s name uplifted."
Cynthia added in another post on Instagram that celebrating Porsha at the event was a "proud moment!"
#MusicNews: Lauryn Hill Explains Why She Never Made Another Album After 'The Miseducation of!
Lauryn Hill's debut album set the tone for how an artist can create an uncompromising project and still be recognized both commercially and critically. Although The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill made waves through the industry, Hill elected no to capitalize on this success. Instead, she retreated from the public eye and never produced another studio album. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Hill explains why she never created a true sophomore effort.
"The wild thing is no one from my label has ever called me and asked how can we help you make another album, EVER...EVER. Did I say ever? Ever!" Hill said during Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums podcast. "With The Miseducation, there was no precedent. I was, for the most part, free to explore, experiment, and express. After The Miseducation, there were scores of tentacled obstructionists, politics, repressing agendas, unrealistic expectations, and saboteurs EVERYWHERE. People had included me in their own narratives of their successes as it pertained to my album, and if this contradicted my experience, I was considered an enemy."
Ironically, Lauryn Hill's abrupt exit from the industry and refusal to comprise herself/art added to the allure surrounding Miseducation. Yet despite Hill's folklore, the album has had a lasting impact on music due to the way the songs resonate with listeners. Hill credits this to the love that was poured into the project.
"I’ve always been pretty critical of myself artistically, so of course there are things I hear that could have been done differently but the LOVE in the album, the passion, it’s intention is to me, undeniable," Hill said when asked about the album's legacy. "I think my intention was simply to make something that made my foremothers and forefathers in music and social and political struggle know that someone received what they’d sacrificed to give us, and to let my peers know that we could walk in that truth, proudly and confidently. At that time, I felt like it was a duty or responsibility to do so. ... I challenged the norm and introduced a new standard. I believe The Miseducation did that and I believe I still do this—defy convention when the convention is questionable."
Hill also addressed how the album examines systemic racism.
All of my albums have probably addressed systemic racism to some degree, before this was something this generation openly talked about. I was called crazy. Now...over a decade later, we hear this as part of the mainstream chorus," she said. "Ok, so chalk some of it up to leadership and how that works—I was clearly ahead, but you also have to acknowledge the blatant denial that went down with that. The public abuse and ostracizing while suppressing and copying what I had done, (I protested) with still no real acknowledgement that all of that even happened, is a lot.”
Rolling Stone placed The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill no. 10 on its "500 Best Albums of All Time list."
#HipHopNews: Megan Thee Stallion Puts Tory Lanez On Blast For Trying To Release 'Old & Not Cleared' Dababy Collabo!
Tory Lanez took to Instagram on Tuesday (January 5) to reveal a collaboration he has on the way to set the stage for 2021 featuring DaBaby. Many of Lanez’s fans were excited to hear about new music, but once the news made it to Megan The Stallion’s Hotties, they weren’t too thrilled to learn that Baby was on a track with Lanez.
Meg had worked with DaBaby on numerous occasions including “NASTY” alongside Ashanti, Good News standout “Cry Baby” and “Cash Shit,” which cracked the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40 in 2019. The pair of collaborators have manufactured a strong friendship outside of music and sat next to one another at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
Baby has remained quiet about the alleged July 12 shooting, which reportedly left the Houston Hottie with bullet shells in her feet after Lanez shot a round from a firearm. The Canadian singer denied all of the allegations and he pleaded not guilty to felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
Hours later Tuesday (January 5), Meg called out Tory for the framing of his collab with DaBaby by explaining that the upcoming track was actually “old and not cleared.” The 24-year-old also retweeted a tweet from a fan saying, “That ain’t Dababy that’s my baby.”
“Nice try,” she wrote on Twitter. “That shit was old and not cleared. CRYBABY VIDEO dropping soon.”
In December, Bun B revisited the Meg-Tory shooting and detailed why he made the choice to speak out and side with his fellow Houston native in the matter.
“I mean, people are usually waiting for that first person to say something, and then more and more people will step to the table,” he said. “I feel like if I hadn’t said anything, I’m not sure how much people would have even spoken on this issue. According to theJasmineBRAND the Real Housewives franchise is allegedly looking to add TWO new cast members to one of it’s popular spin-off cities. A source tells us,
“They’re trying to add two new women to Potomac.”
As you know, the most recent season of Real Housewives of Potomac had an explosive season, which included a violent altercation between cast members Candiace Dilliard and Monique Samuels.
At the end of the season, Monique Samuels announced that she was leaving the show.
Sources tell us that with Monique’s absence, the show will need to add fresh faces and new story lines within the cast. A source tells us,
“Potomac needs to fill Monique’s role on the show. Before Monique quit, production was anticipating following the aftermath of Monique and Candiace – will they reconcile? Will the cast remain divided? Now that she’s gone, they’ll need to explore new people.”
We’re told that producers are already beginning potential casting conversations. The Real Housewives of Potomac premiered on January 17, 2016, as the eighth installment of The Real Housewives franchise. It
has aired five seasons and focuses on the personal and professional lives of several women living in Potomac, Maryland.
The current cast consists of Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Candiace Dillard and Wendy Osefo. Previously-featured cast members include original cast members Charrisse Jackson Jordan and Katie Rost; and later addition Monique Samuels.
Taraji P. Henson Cries While Recalling Telling Her Son How His Father Died!
Taraji P. Henson is opening up about the moment she had to tell her son how his father died in the newest episode of her Facebook Watch series, Peace of Mind with Taraji.
The actress spoke with Tracie Jade Jenkins and therapist Sierra Hillsman about the difficult situation she endured on how to tell her now 26-year-old son, Marcell Johnson, how his father died when he was only nine.
"My son's father was suddenly taken — murdered — when he was 9, and I didn't know how to tell him that," she shared. "I couldn't tell him he was murdered, so I told him he died in an accident."
Taraji adds that telling him that his dad died in an accident came back to haunt her.
"Later on in life he found out and he came back to me and was like, 'Why didn't you tell me my daddy was murdered?' And so then we had to get therapy," Taraji shared.

Ice Cube Speaks out on Dr. Dre's Hospitalization, Asks Fans for Prayers!
Ice Cube is sending his thoughts and prayers to Dr. Dre after it was reported that the music mogul suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday. Shortly after the news broke, Ice Cube took to Twitter in order to ask his fans to send positivity and love to Dre as he navigates this medical emergency. Of course, it didn't take long before fans flocked to the post in order to do exactly that.
Ice Cube asked his fans to "send your love and prayers" to Dre following his hospitalization. His tweet sparked many reactions amongst fans, many of whom were shocked to learn that Dre, whose full name is Andre Romelle Young, suffered a brain aneurysm in the first place. One fan responded to Ice Cube's tweet with, "I Wish him all the strength to get through this and speedy recovery. Ugh,we dont want 2021 to start like this." TMZ originally reported on Tuesday evening that Dre suffered a brain aneurysm on Monday. He was subsequently transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is currently in the ICU.
TMZ also reported that the 55-year-old is said to be in a stable position and that he is lucid at the moment. Doctors are not sure what led to Dre's brain aneurysm and they are currently doing a number of tests in order to determine how it occurred. As many fans are well aware, the news of Dre's medical emergency comes amid his contentious divorce from Nicole Young, his wife of 24 years.
It was reported back in June 2020 that Young filed to divorce Dre, citing "irreconcilable differences." The pair share two adult children together, son Truice and daughter Truly. Back in September, TMZ reported that Young was seeking $2 million a month in temporary spousal support. However, Dre fired back at that request, as he claimed that he already funds Young's lifestyle. A big point of contention between the two ties back to their pre-nuptial agreement. Young claimed that she was forced to sign the agreement and that Dre tore up multiple copies of it two years into their marriage, making it null and void. But, Dre denied his estranged wife's claims, as he claimed that he never tore up those documents and that their agreement is still valid. There is a court date scheduled to take place on Wednesday concerning the pair's divorce. Since he underwent this medical emergency, Dre will not make an appearance in court. The judge in the case will likely continue the matter.

No Charges Against Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey In Jacob Blake Shooting!
The Kenosha police officer who shot Jacob Blake seven times in August will not be criminally charged, Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley announced Tuesday.
The officer who fired the shots, Rusten Sheskey, could successfully argue self-defense before a jury because Blake had a knife, Graveley said during a Tuesday news conference. He also considered evidence that could not be seen on cellphone video of the incident, which showed Sheskey shooting Blake, 29, as he got into a vehicle with his children inside.
Blake, who was shot four times in the back and three in the side, according to Graveley, was left paralyzed. The video, which was widely shared on social media, sparked protests, vandalism and arson.

A jury would be required to examine the evidence from the officer's point of view, Graveley said.
"It's really evidence about the perspective of Officer Sheskey at each moment and what would a reasonable officer do at each moment," Graveley said. "Almost none of those things are answered in that deeply disturbing video that we’ve all seen. ... Officer Sheskey felt he was about to be stabbed."
Blake admitted he had a knife, according to the prosecutor.

“All the discussion that he was unarmed contradicts what he himself has said to investigators,” Graveley said.
He added that the shooting was a tragedy for Blake, his family, police and the community — a statement that was little consolation to the Blakes.
“Rocks and glass, that’s what we received today," Blake's uncle, Justin Blake, said of the announcement.

"We believe all of the elements of attempted homicide were met and we believe the city and community is being deprived of their constitutional right to be the trier of fact,” attorney B’Ivory LaMarr said. “In 2021, it shows one very important thing, and that is that there are three justice systems in America: There’s one for Black and brown people, one for police officers, and one for the rest of the America. And we won’t stop until there is truly one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all."
Sheskey's attorney, Brendan Matthews, said the officer "was presented with a difficult and dangerous situation and he acted appropriately and in accordance with his training."
He added: "The video remains difficult to view but that does not change what actually occurred. False and misleading narratives to the contrary need to stop. Kenosha can and will move forward from this. That process begins now."
Graveley also did not charge the two other Kenosha officers who were present when Blake was shot, Brittany Meronek and Vincent Arenas. The prosecutor would not answer a question about the current employment status of the three officers, saying he "didn't have anything to do with that."
Blake’s shooting and its aftermath propelled Wisconsin into the national spotlight. Both Donald Trump and President-Elect Joe Biden discussed it during campaign stops in the state. Biden met with Blake's family and said charges against Sheskey appeared warranted, while Trump praised police and preached law and order.

Coty Inc. Buys 20% Stake In KKW Beauty For $200 Million!
Coty Inc. has purchased a 20% stake in KKW Beauty, founded by Kim Kardashian, for $200 million after buying a 51% stake in Kylie Cosmetics last year.
Coty dropped $200 million on their stake in the three-year-old cosmetic line. According to their statement, Kardashian, along with her team, will oversee the company’s creative visions and lead social media campaigns. At the same time, Coty will assume all overall responsibility for the brand’s new offerings, such as the skincare launch, scheduled to launch in 2022.
Kardashian praised the partnership in a press release.
“I look forward to working with Coty for the next phase of innovation, advancement, and the ability to bring new launches to customers all around the world. This relationship will allow me to lead the development of the creative elements that I specialize in, while benefiting from the incredible resources of an established company like Coty.”
In early 2020, Coty purchased a 51% stake in Kylie Cosmetics for $600 million. Accusations began to arise, claiming that Coty overly inflated the value of Kylie’s brand. This resulted in a lawsuit filed by Coty shareholder Crystal Garrett-Evans.

NBA superstar Kyrie Irving paying tuition for HBCU students!
Kyrie Irving’s basketball mastery has astounded contemporaries and adversaries alike throughout his illustrious NBA career. But his high profile and controversial pronouncements have also made him subject to greater scrutiny and criticism from the media, and it has seemingly intensified in the past year or so.
Those distracting factors have often obscured Irving’s altruism as his latest act of philanthropy was very slow to leak out to the national media. The Brooklyn Nets superstar guard is using his KAI Family Foundation to pay the tuition for nine Lincoln University students for the 2021 school year.
Lincoln is one of the historically black colleges and universities located near rural Oxford, Pennsylvania, about 70 miles west of Philadelphia.
This was the latest act of generosity and advocacy from Irving in 2020. In March, Irving gave $323,000 and 250,000 meals to people negatively impacted by the pandemic. A few months later, Irving donated $1.5 million to WNBA players who chose to sit out the 2020 season.
Irving has also made headlines for initially refusing to speak to the press, for which he was fined $25,000. Earlier in the year, when the NBA was contemplating the establishment of a protective “bubble” in Orlando, Florida, to finish the season, Irving loudly suggested the players start up their own league because he felt the talent was being treated more like commodities instead of human beings.
Irving, who won a championship in Cleveland with LeBron James in 2016, also created brushfires when he told Kevin Durant in 2020 that he has finally teamed up with another person who has the skills to close out a game. King James admitted that he was a “little hurt” by the insinuation from Irving that he didn’t possess the ability to hit pressure shots in the final minutes.
President Elect Biden To Name Judge Merrick Garland As US Attorney General!
AP) — President-elect Joe Biden has selected Merrick Garland, a federal appeals court judge who in 2016 was snubbed by Republicans for a seat on the Supreme Court, as his attorney general, two people familiar with the selection process said Wednesday.
Biden is expected to announce Garland’s appointment on Thursday, along with other senior leaders of the department, including former homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco as deputy attorney general and former Justice Department civil rights chief Vanita Gupta as associate attorney general.
In picking Garland, Biden is turning to an experienced judge who held senior positions at the Justice Department decades ago, including as a supervisor of the prosecution of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
The pick will force Senate Republicans to contend with the nomination of someone they spurned in 2016, refusing even to hold hearings when a Supreme Court vacancy arose, but Biden may be banking on Garland’s credentials and reputation for moderation to ensure confirmation.
The people familiar with the process spoke on condition of anonymity.
50 Cent Says Jackie Long is Now ‘Debt Free’ After Alleging ‘ATL’ Star Owed Him Money!
One thing seems for sure: If Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson lends you money, he’ll remind you every chance he gets, publicly at that. And on the other hand, once you’ve paid him off, the hip-hop internet bully seemingly has no issues with announcing that as well.
Like recently, when the “Many Men” rapper revealed on his Instagram account that “Power” star Jackie Long was debt free after allegedly loaning the star some money. “Here’s a picture of @jackielong debt free,” 50 Cent captioned a photo of Jackie alongside R&B singer Mary J. Blige. He added, “👀Damn Gucci, LV, the fuck are we trying to win. the best dressed shoot out award. 🤦♂️ SMH #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi.”
The “ATL” star replied to 50’s post, writing, “Green light debt free.. finally !!!”
Fans congratulated Jackie on clearing his debt, including one user who wrote, “@jackielong don’t borrow no more money from this man😂😂.” Another person commented, “@jackielong that’s financial freedom right there.” “Jackie debt free that’s what’s up 💯😂😂,” a third expressed.
The photo above was taken on the set of 50’s show “Power Book II: Ghost” where Jackie made an appearance. Still, Jackie is not the only celebrity to fall victim to the self-proclaimed Hollywood loan shark. The Queens native has also allegedly sought after his money from other people, including “Power” star Rotimi, former G-Unit rapper Young Buck and comedian Michael Blackson.
But the most infamous case of unpaid balances may belong to “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” alum Teairra Marí. As you may remember, back in 2018, the former reality star sued 50 for posting a screenshot of a sexually explicit video Teairra was in with her then-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad.
The case was thrown out, and the “Make Her Feel Good” singer was ordered by a judge to pay the rapper $30,618 in legal fees. 50 was relentless in pursuing his money and even served the songstress with court papers while she was walking through an airport. The following year, she was hit with $4,392.50 more in sanctions.
In February 2020, blog site The Blast reported that a Los Angeles judge ordered Mari to pay $5,295.50 in sanctions to the rapper and give her financial records to him as well. The money feud between Teairra and 50 has yet to be settled.
Tennessee Mother And Son Dead After Jumping From Interstate Overpass!
A Tennessee mother suffering from depression and her young son are dead after she jumped from a highway overpass while holding the boy in her arms.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has identified the young mother as 26-year-old Tonisha Lashay Barker. The family identified the toddler as 21-month-old Jonathan Jones.
WREG reports that authorities first received a call just after midnight when a woman tried to hit a gas pump at the Shell gas station. Witnesses saw the woman get out of her car with a small child, walk over to the nearby overpass, and jump off.
Shortly after that, an additional call came in from a driver that said a “large object” fell from the bridge, striking his truck. When deputies arrived, they located the bodies of Barker and Jones.
According to The Daily Mail, Barker’s grandmother said she had been recently suffering from depression; her job at a COVID-19 site ended last month. The family told WREG they had no inkling she was suicidal.
The incident is still under investigation, and no additional details were immediately available.

Here’s Sally, she likes long walks on the beach, holdin her clutch purse, and itchin crotch in isle 5. Let’s hope she’s not using one of those pizza makers to the left for dinner later.
