Zendaya is the kind of grounded you wish all of your friends could be like. As she makes an impact in the world for so many people—young people in particular—she leads the way with vulnerability and transparency, showing up unapologetically as her full self. For her September cover shoot, Zendaya talks to Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors–who took over the actress’s Instagram earlier this summer so her followers could truly understand this movement–about what brings her hope and where we can all go from here.
On why she doesn’t consider herself an activist: “I have always hesitated to use the word “activist” for myself. That is a lifestyle. That is a choice every day to be doing the work and devoting your life to a cause. And I don’t feel I am deserving of the title. There are a lot of words that better describe what I do. I’m an actress, but I’m also just a person who has a heart and wants to do the right thing.”
On looking to people like Patrisse to make an impact: “I didn’t know what I could do to help. And that’s when I reach out to people like you. Because at the end of the day, I’m just an actress, you know? And I don’t pretend to be anything other than that. If I don’t know something, then I ask people who are actually on the front lines doing the work. I’m up in the bleachers, not on the field. So I always think, ‘How can I cheer you on and be a part of something greater than myself?’”
On opening up about anxiety and coping with it: “I think a lot of it stems from the pressure I put on myself, wanting to do my best and not make a mistake. I definitely don’t have it under control yet. I don’t have the key, so if anybody does, let me know! I do find that talking about it is helpful, and that can often mean calling my mom in the middle of the night. Sometimes I make her sleep on the phone with me like a frickin’ baby. [laughs]”
On missing Euphoria and why Rue is her home base: “I do miss Rue. She’s like my little sister in a lot of ways. And going back to that character is a home base for me. There is a beautiful second season that has been written, but in order to do it the way we want to do it, we need to wait until it’s safer.”
On her team for this cover shoot: “I’ve always had a Black stylist and Black hair and makeup artists. But we were able to work with two talented young Black photographers on this shoot too. We’re actually around the same age, so it was cool to be with my peers and have an opportunity to show what we can do. There are also so many Black designers people don’t know about, so having an opportunity where they can be in InStyle and get the love they deserve is really special.”

BREAKING! Woman dead, 3 critical, 1 trapped in NW Baltimore house explosions!
A woman is dead, one person is trapped and three people are reported to be critically injured after three houses exploded Monday morning in northwest Baltimore, fire officials said.
Baltimore City fire officials are responding to a gas explosion in the area of the 6500 block of Reisterstown Road, near Labyrinth Road. Fire officials were called to the scene just before 10 a.m.
Three people have been recovered from the scene in serious condition -- one was taken to Shock Trauma, one was taken to Sinai Hospital and the third is unknown at this time.
One woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire officials are searching for one more person who is believed to be trapped in the rubble.
The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
Reporters on the ground and said many people who are walking around and appear to be injured are seniors.
Baltimore Mayor Jack Young is on the scene. Baltimore Gas and Electric released the following statement: "BGE received a call from the Fire Department at 9:54 this morning to respond to the scene. We are on the scene and working closely with the fire department to make the situation safe. Crews are working to turn off gas to the buildings in the immediate area. Once the gas is off we can begin to safely assess the situation including inspections of BGE equipment."
Baltimore Police are asking people to avoid the Reisterstown Road corridor where it intersects with Labyrinth Road.

Kandi Burruss and daughter Riley Burruss are ignoring the haters – literally. The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star and her daughter recently posted photos on their respective Instagram pages with the comments section either limited or closed.
Riley uploaded new candids of herself posing while dolled up. “Love me or hate me,” the young adult captioned. “Either way, I’m on your mind,” Riley said.
Dozens of Riley’s followers, including her stepfather, liked the energy of the post. “You stay in their minds rent-free,” one of Riley’s friends said. “My roomie is so gorgeous,” wrote another of the young adult’s close friends.
Kandi Burruss also posted a picture of her oldest daughter. Riley was joined by her little sister, Blaze Tucker, in the picture that Kandi shared. The RHOA star closed the comments section of her latest Instagram post that featured her oldest daughter more than likely because of social media followers talking about Riley’s alleged nose job.
Rumors about the young adult undergoing plastic surgery began to spread last month after Kandi and Riley shared a video clip of themselves dancing while quarantined at home. Many appreciated the mother-daughter moment. Some, however, could not get beyond Riley’s new physical appearance long enough to fully appreciate the clip.
Still, even with the rumor mills going at full speed, Riley Burruss has not addressed the notion of her having plastic surgery for a new nose. The young adult is, however, excited about her upcoming freshman year at New York University (NYU).

Azealia Banks Alarms Fans With Suicidal Thoughts!
Azealia Banks has fans concerned for her well-being after sharing a series of alarming messages.
The “212” rapper took to Instagram Stories on early Sunday morning to reveal that she is in a dark place and is considering ending her life.
“Yea, I think I’m done here,” she began. “This pandemic, extreme lack of social interaction, no intimacy, combined with constant public ridicule is making life harder than its worth.”
“I think I will end my tenure here on earth soon,” she continued.
She also assured fans that she was not seeking attention or sympathy. “I’m not begging for attention or asking for sympathy/empathy,” she said. “I’m just ready to go. Peacefully of course. I will document my last times and release a film for you all to finally understand me, From my perspective.”
Banks, 29, said her “soul is tired” before adding, “I’m ready to go.”
She promised fans that she would finish her unreleased projects including Fantasea II: The Second Wave. “I will try my best to finish the projects I promised I would beforehand,” she added. “With whatever strength is left.”
Banks, who recently shaved her head, asked her followers not to “bombard” her with messages. “I am not in pain. I am at peace,” she said.
In addition to her cryptic text messages, she left a series of concerning audio notes, saying she was looking for “voluntary euthanasia options.” “I’d actually rather die a hero than some bitch that people continue to make fun of,” she said.
“I’ve been in trouble for a long time and asking for help for a long time,” added Banks. “I gotta get out of here.”
After hearing Banks’ suicidal messages, fans took to Twitter to express their concern for her mental health. “I hope someone close to Azealia reaches out to make sure she’s doing okay,” tweeted one worried fan, while another pleaded, “You are loved and cherished. Don’t do anything irrational.”
#RIP: James ‘Kamala’ Harris, Former WWE Wrestler, Dies at 70!
As “The Ugandan Giant,” Harris wrestled against WWE legends like Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker
Pro wrestler James Harris, who performed as the monster heel Kamala, died this weekend at the age of 70, according to a statement released Sunday by WWE.
“WWE is saddened to learn that James Harris, known to WWE fans as Kamala, has passed away at age 70,” the WWE tweeted. A cause of death has not been released.
Born in Mississippi, Harris struggled to make ends meet for his family as a farmworker and truck driver and was even arrested as a teen for burglary. At the age of 25, he met wrestler Bobo Brazil in Michigan and decided to train under him. After getting his start in the Southeast U.S. and winning the NWA heavyweight title in that territory, he traveled to Memphis in 1982 and joined the Continental Wrestling Association run by famed promoters Jerry “The King” Lawler and Jerry Jarrett.
It was there where Harris worked with Lawler and Jarrett to form the persona he would use for the rest of his career: Kamala, a monstrous 6-foot-7, 380-pound headhunter from Uganda found by villainous manager J.J. Dillon and brought to the U.S. to take on Lawler, CWA’s biggest star. Lawler and Kamala would main event matches in sold-out auditoriums in Memphis, as they feuded over the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.
Over the next decade, Harris would perform with some of the most famous wrestlers of the era, including NWA heavyweight champion Harley Race, Rick Martel and Sgt. Slaughter. But his most famous matches would come during two stints in the World Wrestling Federation, including a steel cage match against Andre the Giant and world title matches against Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.
In the fall of 1992, he entered a feud with one of wrestling’s longest lasting stars, The Undertaker, culminating in the first-ever televised casket match, where the Ugandan giant and the undead mortician from Death Valley attempted to throw each other into a casket.
Harris continued to wrestle as Kamala on the indie circuit and in sporadic WWE appearances until 2010, after which he was forced to retire when he underwent a below-the-knee amputation on his left leg due to high blood pressure and diabetes. In 2016, he was part of a class action lawsuit against WWE, saying that the promotion concealed the risk of traumatic brain injury suffered by multiple wrestlers. The lawsuit was later dismissed.
WWE offered its condolences to Harris’ family in a tweet sent Sunday.
Tyrese Defends Alleged Repeat Child Sex Abuser R. Kelly!
Tyrese Gibson is out here defending R. Kelly and he doesn’t appear interested in hearing the allegations from numerous alleged victims.
Over the weekend, Tyrese joined Fat Joe for a chat on social media. At one point, the topic of R. Kelly came up and Tyrese felt the need to come to the disgraced singer’s defense.
He told Joe, “R. Kelly, with all of his videos, what he was doing musically and sonically, and how he figured out a way to change and evolve and stay relevant over all of those years.
"I know he has a lot of controversy and heat on him. I get it. Ain’t no need to get in my comments and if you write some goofy shit I’m going to say “it’s okay.”
Joe, who seemed confused at the rant, asked Tyrese, “No fear, no problem saying R. Kelly (inaudible)?
Tyrese said, “I’m too real to fake it. I just have to say it. What I’ve learned over the years, there is a lot of people in our industry …. Everybody is involved in something that they don’t ever want people to know about publicly. I would say you know what “let god do his job.”
He added, “If I were to find out, what everyone is into, we probably wouldn’t be a fan of anybody. There is some people who do what they do, they know how to keep their shit completely in the closet.”
Tyrese’s praise of Kelly is interesting given the alleged child sex abuser Is currently locked up in prison awaiting two separate federal trials. He is accused of abusing underage girls for years. Many of them were brave enough to speak out on “Surviving R. Kelly.” Kelly has faced numerous lawsuits from alleged victims, dealt with a criminal investigation for child pornography, and remains behind bars.
Fans were quick to trash Tyrese in the comments. One wrote, “That's not ok to say when there are children involved. Its not just a preference...”
Another wrote, “It wasn't even necessary to go that deep into trying to cape for Kells. Let God do His job AND let His Believers hold rapists and kidnappers accountable. It ain't hard to just uphold what's right. His own sins sent him on that rant. 🙄”

After the visual for the hot song dropped, many fans voiced their opinions on having Kylie in the video at all and also spoke out about the comparisons she noticed between Kylie and Normani, who is also in the video.
Some even started a petition to wipe her out of the visual all together.

Simon Cowell Speaks Out After Breaking His Back During Bike Accident!
Simon Cowell is addressing his recent accident.
The 60-year-old America’s Got Talent judge took to Twitter on Sunday evening (August 9) to share a little joke after he was hospitalized for breaking his back after a bike accident.
Some good advice…If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” Simon tweeted. “I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.”
The day before, it was reported that Simon was rushed to the hospital after falling off of his electric bike.
Simon then had to undergo a six-hour surgery after breaking his back in multiple places. Surgeons had to fuse his bones and implant a rod during the operation.
Simon will have to sit out of at least two live AGT episodes as he recovers.

Chris Brown Reveals New Head Tattoo!
Chris Brown is adding more ink to his body. The R&B superstar has revealed his latest tattoo of a barking Doberman baring his teeth with a bulging eye. The ferocious tat appears on the back of his head and attached to his previous tat of the ancient Greek statue Venus de Milo, which he got in 2015.
The dog tat was inspired by the logo for Tuff Crowd, an L.A.-based streetwear brand. It was done by celebrity tattoo artist GANGA, who is also responsible for Chris’ Jordan sneaker tattoo.
This is just the latest in Chris’ extensive tattoo collection. He also has a portrait of his son Aeko’s face on his left hand and a tattoo of his daughter on his back.
Meanwhile, his “Go Crazy” collaboration with Young Thug continues to burn up the charts. It is currently No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Last month, he teamed up with Jacquees on “Put in Work,” while Lil Yachty recently shared his desire to collaborate with Breezy again.
“I really wanna work with @chrisbrown again,” tweeted Yachty, who previously worked with Chris on 2017’s “Handle It.”
Kanye West Booted Off Illinois Ballot Amid Thousands Of Invalid Signatures!
Kanye West won’t be appearing on the presidential ballot for his home state after election officials in Illinois found that 1,900 of the 3,128 signatures West submitted are invalid.
That leaves the rapper short of the 2,500 needed to be included on the state’s Presidential ballot.
While no reason was given, issues could be fake names or undresses, voters who were not eligible in Illinois, illegible signatures or something else entirely, TMZ notes.
The signatures were brought to the attention of the Illinois State Board of Elections after three people filed objections citing dodgy signatures, the site reported.
West reportedly dropped $30,000 to be included on the ballot.
Meanwhile Wisconsin is looking into West’s presidential bid in that state after Democratic party members found signatures for “Mickey Mouse” and Bernie Sanders on that state’s ballot.
“If the affidavits are true … crimes were committed by the West campaign,” attorney Michael Maistelman, who gathered the affidavits for the state Democratic Party, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
West is currently on Colorado’s ballot.
“Colorado’s bar is lower than most — candidates must pay a $1,000 fee, submit notarized statements and obtain backing from nine electors who are registered voters in the state,” The Denver Post notes.

Keke Wyatt And Her Kids Want You To Know That She Is Not Pregnant!
No, Keke Wyatt is not pregnant. The celebrity mom and her kids took to Instagram a few days ago to clear the air about rumors that were simply untrue.
Keke took a pause from the good time she was having at home with her family to address pregnancy rumors that arose after fans saw the singer jamming with Jennifer Hudson during an at-home music session. Some speculated that Keke was expecting a child after seeing the celebrity mom’s stomach.
“I’ve been hearing rumors going around that I’m pregnant,” Keke began her statement on Instagram last week. “First of all, it’s my business,” the celebrity mom assured. “So if I was, I ain’t got to tell nobody if I don’t want to. But since y’all – and you know who y’all are – since you’re going to say I’m pregnant, and you ain’t got nobody’s proof, you’re dumb and you’re a lie (sic). And I feel sorry for you if you go to hell for your lies.”
Wyatt went on to assure her fans and critics, “I’m not pregnant. I just had a baby. He just turned 7-months-old. Why in God’s creation would I give birth to another child, or even think about getting pregnant with a child, [when] my body hasn’t even healed? Your body needs a whole year to heal.”
Keke Wyatt and her husband, Zackariah Darring, welcomed their son, Ke’Riah Darring, on January 6, 2020. The little one made Keke a mom for the tenth time.
Although Keke and Zackariah have not completely closed the door on the possibility of having more kids in the near future, the celebrity couple is definitely not expecting another child at the present.
“If we were having a baby, we would say something,” Keke assured her social media followers. “But guess what? It’s called quarantine, and sometimes you be a little thick; especially when you’re happy,” the celebrity said of her alleged weight gain. “I’m finally happy,” Wyatt said. “I’m finally happy in my life. They Are Some People Against Renaming Edmund Pettus Bridge In Honor Of John Lewis!
Over 500,000 people have signed a petition to have Edmund Pettus Bridge renamed in honor of the late-great John Lewis.
On Aug. 7, community and civil rights leaders met in Selma, Alabama to discuss the possible change of the bridge, according to WSB-TV.
But while the petition reveals a call for change, some in Selma are against the proposal. The Edmund Pettus Bridge stands as Selma’s most renowned landmark. Every year thousands of people from around the world visit Selma to take photos or walk on the bridge. It now stands as the most lucrative structure in a small city that continues to suffer in terms of high unemployment rates and a lack of business infrastructure.
However, the name change could possibly lead to a new form of financial impact, as Lewis’ legacy continues to grow following his death, which occurred on Friday, July 17, 2020.
In March 1965, a then-25-year-old Lewis spearheaded a peaceful march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. It became known as “Bloody Sunday,” as Lewis and other marchers were brutally beaten by White state troopers while attempting to cross the bridge.
Edmund Pettus was a known racist who served as a member of the Confederate Army and as a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan. His racist legacy continued after his death in 1907, as Selma continues to suffer racial inequality today.
In 2015, President Barack Obama joined Lewis in Selma to pay homage to those who fought oppression on “Bloody Sunday.”
Zoë Kravitz Calls Out Hulu For Lack Of Diversity After ‘High Fidelity’ Cancellation!
One day after Hulu canceled her series “High Fidelity” after one season, star Zoë Kravitz called out the streaming service for not having shows with much diversity.
Kravitz took to her Instagram on Thursday to post some behind-the-scenes photos with her “High Fidelity” cast members after news broke that the show was canceled.
“I wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family. Thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. I’m in awe of all of you. And thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us. #breakupssuck,” she wrote.
Several actors, including Tessa Thompson, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry and others, commented on the photos, offering condolences that the show will not continue.
“I will miss you alllllllllllll so much,” Thompson commented.
Kravitz replied to her, “It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of color we can watch. Oh wait.”
“High Fidelity” was a gender-bending, modern reimagining of the 2000 film starring John Cusack, with Kravitz playing his role. She starred as Rob, a pop culture-obsessed owner of a record store. Jake Lacy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and David H. Holmes rounded out the cast of the single season, which was critically praised.
On an episode of Variety and iHeartRadio’s “The Big Ticket” podcast earlier this year, Kravitz had spoken about the fan feedback she’d gotten about the representation on “High Fidelity.”
“The amount of comments, DMs, things on Twitter, articles written about Brown women who love music, were afraid of commitment, who’ve never seen a person like them on television — they feel seen for the first time,” she said. “I have a friend who — one of his best friends loves punk music and is gay — it’s like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m watching a gay man in a Minor Threat shirt. I’ve never seen that before.’ Just breaking away from the stereotypes, I feel like people need that. So I feel very lucky to have been able to deliver that, because one of the most important things for me was authenticity and bringing a real world to life. I’ve lived in New York for a long time, and in a lot of ways this was a love letter to New York with all its messiness and diversity.”

Jurnee Smollett Claims She’s Been A Victim Of Sexual Harassment On Every Set She Has Ever Worked On!
According to Jurnee Smollett, she has been subjected to sexual harassment on a regular basis while working in Hollywood. Hot New Hip Hop picked up on comments from the actress today in which she explained how she has been harassed on nearly every set.
The sister of Jussie Smollett says that before she made it big on the HBO series, Lovecraft Country, there has only been one set where she wasn’t subjected to sexual harassment. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jurnee shared her thoughts.
According to Jurnee, she honestly can’t say whether there has been a time when she wasn’t subjected to sexual harassment since she was 12-years-old. The harassment comes from all over, she says, including from co-stars, directors, producers, and others.
By the time she turned 33-years-old, she had a successful career in Hollywood and has starred in projects like True Blood, Friday Night Lights, as well as The Great Debaters. Jurnee also says she has had to back out of projects due to harassment.
On one set, Jurnee explained, a man said to her, “hey, your tits are going to be hanging in the wind.” Jurnee claims when she bows out of a project, she doesn’t apologize for it either. She thinks the standards for thwarting sexual harassment are currently at their bare minimum.
The response to Jurnee’s complaints has not been positive. For instance, in the comment section of Hot New Hip Hop, commenters put her on blast for a number of reasons, however, the overwhelming majority pointed out that she was the sister of Jussie.
One commenter suggested anyone with that last name would never have a shred of credibility ever again. Others insinuated that she didn’t really have much to complain about considering she probably “makes millions.”
As most know, Jurnee is the sister of Jussie Smollett, the man who has been accused of faking a hate crime against himself for monetary and career gain. Jussie is currently in the middle of a federal trial because of his alleged actions.
Gunfire Erupts At Washington D.C. Birthday Party Killing One and Injuring Nine!
Gunfire broke out early Sunday morning in a Washington D.C. residential neighborhood injuring nine people and killing one.
The the fatal shooting occurred around 1 a.m. on Dubois Place in the Greenway neighborhood of Southeast Washington.
A resident of the neighborhood claims that everyone was in attendance, including a DJ.
“You had DJs, everybody was down there. It was more women than men,” said Nelson Bostic, a resident who said the gathering had been a birthday celebration.
Bostic continues, “Next thing you know, it was like Beirut out here. It sounded like machine guns and everything else that was going on out here.”
An unidentified man was killed, and the nine others that were injured were taken to different hospitals for a gunshot wound treatment.
There’s no apparent motive on the shooting, and no arrests have been announced.
The victim has been identified as 17-year old Christopher Brown, a father to 1-year-old Elijah and who was expecting another on the way.
There are currently 20 people being treated for their injuries. D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham says that they are looking for multiple shooters.

Can you even think of another place on Earth besides a Walmart where not only would there be a raccoon hanging out with a guy but a mother not thinking twice about letting her kid go up to said strange raccoon to say hello?
