“Insecure” star Issa Rae covers the June 2020 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine photographed by Ruth Ossai.
On the fourth season of Insecure: “Someone asked me if I felt pressure about this season coming on, and up until now, I hadn’t. This f*cking virus changed everything. On the pandemic: “We’re being forced to stop and just reevaluate, be creative in our approach. Humans are resilient. We’re going to figure this sh*t out.”

On fame: “The bigger you are and the more people know your name, the more people you’re stumbling in front of.”

On her legacy: “I want to be a pop culture staple—a black pop culture staple. I want to have an impact on my community. Everything I’ve done has been for—and in thinking of—black people, and I don’t take this moment lightly. I want to do right by us, at the end of the day.”
Issa Rae covers the June issue of Cosmopolitan on newsstands nationwide on May 12.

#RHOA: #TWIRL! Vivica A. Fox Reignites Feud with Rival Kenya Moore: 'That One Ain't Never Going Away'!
Vivica A. Fox is still not over her beef with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore.
The actress, 55, first faced off against Moore, 49, in 2014 when they competed on season 14 of The Celebrity Appreciate. And all these years later, she's not ready to forgive and forget.

"F--- that bitch. Nope, nope, nope," Fox said on Monday's episode of Fox Soul's Cocktails with the Queen, adding of their feud, "That one ain't never going away."
"I’m a Leo, I’m a lion. When these goddamn claws come out, baby it’s on like popcorn," Fox told the show's host, former RHOA star Claudia Jordan — who happens to be close friends with Moore. "I love you, and you know you helped me get through that. But that one right there? No ma’am."
"Some people you don’t like no more," the actress added. "She's at the top of that list. I’m sorry to my fans, because we’re all about sisterhood, but Claudia, I don’t like her."

Fox and Moore certainly didn't mince words during their time together on reality TV. The two got into epic boardroom battles throughout the season, with Fox dubbing Moore a "toxic trick" and a "dirty ass bitch" after Moore said Fox was having "wilds ups and downs emotionally" due to "menopause."
Things got even more heated when Fox claimed Moore stole her cell phone during one of the challenges and tweeted something from Fox's account. Moore denied those claims.

"To steal your phone? I'm not a thief," Moore said. "I respected this woman. I always had respect for her. She sat here and took this to a disgusting level. She called me all kinds of names in the book."

Both ended up getting "fired" on the show, but their bad blood hasn't cooled.
Asked in 2015 during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen if she would ever forgive Moore, Fox said she "absolutely" would — but only if the former Miss USA "was ever woman enough to admit what she did on Celebrity Apprentice and we could sit down and have a face-to-face talk and clear the air."

"I will forgive her but never forget," Fox noted. And in a 2018 episode of RHOA, Moore shaded Fox, saying that she's still giving the same acting performances 20 years later.
"At least I still am acting 20 years later," Fox said, in response, on WWHL. "And she was watching me, once again."

So what do you guys think?

#HipHopNews: DMX Wants To Challenge Jay-Z To ‘Verzuz’ Battle!
With everyone from Ja Rule to Khia issuing battle challenges, DMX is stepping in the ring. The legendary MC wants to face off with none other than his old rival JAY-Z as part of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s popular “Verzuz” series.

While speaking with N.O.R.E.’s “Drink Champs” podcast, DMX was asked who he would want to potentially battle on Instagram Live. X didn’t hesitate to respond. “JAY,” he said.
His response took N.O.R.E. by surprise. “Are we saying JAY-Z?” he asked.

“Yeah, who you think?” said DMX, adding, “There you go. That would be battle number three.”
As HipHopDX points out, the rivalry between DMX and JAY-Z dates back two decades, including once at a pool hall in the Bronx in the early ’90s and on the “Hard Knock Life Tour” in 1999. The latter moment was documented in the 2000 documentary Backstage.
It remains to be seen if JAY will respond to X’s challenge. The “Verzuz” battle series has already produced iconic matchups between DJ Premier and RZA, Scott Storch and Mannie Fresh, Lil Jon and T-Pain, and Babyface and Teddy Riley, which set a livestream record with over half-a-million viewers. Jill Scott and Erykah Badu will face off during the next “Verzuz” challenge, which is set for May 9 at 7 p.m. EST.

Other potential battles are looming including Diddy and Dr. Dre. Last month, the Bad Boy mogul teased the epic pairing. “Yeah, we talkin’ about it,” he told Fat Joe.

Baltimore Ravens' Earl Thomas' Wife Nina Arrested For Holding Him at Gunpoint While He Was Cheating on Her!
Nina Thomas took matters into her own hands when she assumed that husband Earl Thomas was cheating on her.
TMZ reports that the wife of the Baltimore Ravens football star was arrested over holding Earl at gunpoint after tracing his whereabouts to an Airbnb rental where she found him naked with another woman.

The event happened earlier in April and revealed that the two had an argument about his drinking before he left with his brother Seth. Nina had traced his whereabouts with Snapchat and saw a video revealing he was with another woman.
Nina also says that “she grabbed Earl’s pistol, a 9mm Berreta, in the process with the intention to ‘scare him.’”
From there, Nina went to the house and “pulled out the gun and put it to Earl’s head — stating that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire.”
One of the women who was with the brothers filmed a video that was shown to cops.
When cops arrived, Nina was wielding “a knife in her hand, and was chasing a shirtless black male, with a pistol in his hand around a vehicle.”

Nina was booked for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — family violence, and later bonded out. Earl was not arrested

Kevin Spacey Speaks for the First Time Following Sexual Assault Allegations: “If I can’t act, who am I?”
In a recent virtual video for this year’s German conference-Bits and Pretzels, actor Kevin Spacey gave a motivational speech to startup founders and entrepreneurs in which he compared his experiences of job loss to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I don’t think it will come as a surprise for anyone to say that my world completely changed in the fall of 2017,” Spacey said during the interview.
According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, in 2017, the former House of Cards star was publicly accused by multiple male victims of sexual assault, some allegations dating back to the 1980s. In the “matter of hours,” the actor lost jobs, relationships, and standing in the industry.

When asked about the global impact of COVID-19, Spacey appears to go into a reflection of self-pity. In terms of emotional struggles, Spacey related to “what it feels like to suddenly be told you can’t go back to work” and “suddenly finding yourself in a situation you could not possibly have prepared for or anticipated was coming.” However, he did acknowledge the significant differences in the circumstances of what he faced three years ago and what everyone else is facing now.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“I don’t often like to tell people that I can relate to their situation because I think it undermines the experience that they may be having, which is their own unique and very personal experience. But in this instance, I feel as though I can relate to what it feels like to have your world suddenly stop.”
Spacey has vehemently claimed his innocence, but the public turmoil has made his last three years, “bleak and horrible.” In the 7-minute video, he admits to spending his time isolating with his dog Boston and not speaking to anyone.

Besides the 60-year-old actor’s two mysterious YouTube videos posted since the allegations, the interview with Bits and Pretzels was the first time Spacey has spoken out. The actor was dropped from House of Cards and has not appeared in any movies or television series since 2017. According to the Daily Mail, he was also removed from the completed film All the Money in the World; actor Christopher Plummer reshot his scenes.
The Oscar winner says he’s “never really stopped and looked closer at his life” until now. All he ever wanted to do was act, but when that abruptly ended, he was left wondering, “If I can’t act, who am I?'” Given the uncontrollable situation, he is taking the time to figure this out.

“This is a process that will allow me to ask other questions I’d never asked. Have conversations I’d never had. Delve into issues I’ve long avoided. Face truths I’d kept hidden and confront traumas I’d always denied,” he said, adding that he hopes people can discover “a new part of you that’s begging to be heard.”
He encouraged viewers that it will get better. “It’s at these kinds of moments that the most important thing to remember is that we have our health,” he said. “Our physical health but also our mental health. The health of our family, of our children, our parents if we’re still lucky enough to have them with us.”
One of Spacey’s accusers has died, the charges from those allegations have since been dropped. According to the Daily Mail, the case stemmed from a masseur’s allegations that Spacey inappropriately touched him during a massage session at a home in Malibu, California, in October 2016.

Those allegations surfaced after Spacey’s first accuser, Anthony Rapp came forth in 2017, accusing the actor of inappropriately climbing on top of him when he was 14-years-old. At the time, Spacey was 26. Spacey did not recall the incident and has issued an apology if it did happen.
In July of last year, authorities dropped indecent assault and battery charges against the actor due to mishandlings of text messages and the fact that accuser William Little later invoked his Fifth Amendment rights.

Spacey is still in the process of evaluating his life.

“I don’t want to sugarcoat this devastating time that we’re in; I am hoping that I can encourage you to see an opportunity in all of this and turn this into a positive.”

Following The Death Of Kobe Bryant, California Proposes New Bill Making It Illegal!
In late January, NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter GiGi and 7 other victims were killed in a helicopter crash.
Media outlets began posting pictures of the accident scene, which in turn sparked widespread backlash from people deeming it unnecessary and disrespectful.
Now according to The Hollywood Reporter, a new proposed bill in California would make it against the law for first responders to use photographs of bodies taken at the scene for any other reason than the investigation.
The bill would be called “Invasion of Privacy: First Responders.” Should authorities break this law, they will be fined $5,000 and sentenced to one year in jail.

Not only were fans around the world outraged by the irresponsible use of the photographs of the crash site, but Bryant’s widow Vanessa Bryant also expressed her anger with the spread of the images with a lawsuit.
“This is an unspeakable violation of human decency, respect, and of the privacy rights of the victims and their families,” Gary C. Robb, Vanessa’s attorney said in a statement. “We are demanding that those responsible for these alleged actions face the harshest possible discipline and that their identities be brought to light, to ensure that the photos are not further disseminated.”

Back in March, LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva required that all employees with pictures from the crash site, delete them permanently from their personal devices after reports of first responders sharing the images with the public.
“We’ve communicated in no uncertain terms that the behavior is inexcusable,” Villanueva said. “I mean, people are grieving for the loss of their loved ones. To have that on top of what they’ve already gone through is unconscionable. And, to think any member of our department would be involved in that.”

Now the proposed bill, introduced by Assembly member Mike Gipson, is currently before the Assembly’s Public Safety Committee.

'The Masked Singer' Renewed for Season 4 at FOX!
The Masked Singer is officially set to produce another round of singing fun on FOX. On Wednesday, Deadline reported that the singing competition has been renewed for Season 4 on the network. The news comes a few weeks before the show is set to air its Season 3 finale on May 27.

According to Deadline, the series is eyeing a possible fall return for the singing competition. FOX CEO Lachlan Murdoch said that the show will hopefully be back in production in August for a Fall release. Of course, this is all dependent upon whether the coronavirus crisis has subsided enough that television programs can safely return to production. Season 3 of The Masked Singer, which is currently airing Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, premiered back in February following the Super Bowl.

Season 3 of The Masked Singer featured some pretty big changes in its format. Instead of introducing all of the contestants on the same episode, the series divided the singers into three separate groups. Over the course of the season, the singers competed within their respective groups before they all came together for the Super Nine on April 1. In a January interview with Billboard, showrunner Izzie Pick-Ibarra explained why the show chose to implement these changes.

"We changed the format up to make three mini-seasons. So we have six singers in each mini-season: groups A, B and C. We start with six in a group and they get whittled down to three," Pick-Ibarra explained. "Then we go to the next group and the next and then we bring all the singers together so you have nine champions from the groups and they'll compete against one another to the end. It helps the viewers when we have a cast as large as ours and it's hard to track people's stories and personalities if you're flip-flopping between 18 people from the get-to. It's a way to let viewers know them in smaller groups, and by the time they come together, they have a handle on who each are over 19 episodes."

Currently, there are five competitors left in the competition — Night Angel, Rhino, Turtle, Frog and Kitty. The final five will go head-to-head on the Wednesday night episode in order to see who will make it to the next round of the competition. As previously mentioned, the competition is indeed winding down with the Season 3 finale set to air on FOX on May 27

Rappers Show Support For Ahmaud Arbery, Who Was Killed By Son Of Former Cop!
Members of the hip-hop community are seeking justice for Ahmaud Arbery, an unarmed Black man who was chased by two White men and shot by one of the men while jogging through a Georgia neighborhood earlier this year.
According to a report from CNN on Wednesday (May 6), Arbery was going for a jog in an area outside Brunswick, Ga. on Feb. 23 when former police officer Gregory McMichael and his son, Travis, who was armed, chased him down. Reports also claim that McMichael suspected Arbery was responsible for a string of break-ins in the area.

Shortly after the men chased Arbery, a struggle transpired between Arbery and Travis. McMichael's son fired three shots, killing  Arbery. Two months after the killing, Tom Durden, the district attorney for the Atlantic Judicial Circuit, has announced that the case will be presented in front of a grand jury, along with the video footage of the incident that was posted online Tuesday (May 5) by a local radio station. The video has since been removed from the station's website, according to CNN.

On Wednesday (May 6), rappers like Big Boi, Smino, LL Cool J and more voiced their support for the 25-year-old unarmed man by uploading social media posts including the hashtag "#AhmadArbery" to help bring attention to Arbery's killing.
The rappers' messages come after reports that Arbery's case will go to a grand jury in coastal Georgia. However, The New York Times reports that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Georgia Supreme Court has prohibited grand juries through June 12.

The investigation into Ahmaud Arbery's killing is ongoing
