Ari Lennox is treating her fans with more new music. The Washington, D.C. native has released a new project titled Shea Butter Baby (Remix EP).
The three-track EP features remixes of some fan-favorite tracks on Lennox’s debut album, Shea Butter Baby, including the Doja Cat-assisted “BMO (Remix).” It also features appearances from rapper Smino (“I Been”) and singer Durand Bernarr (“Facetime”).

Jermaine Dupri is one of the most successful musicians in Hip Hop history. His iconic So So Def record label was home to a number of notable artists like Bow Wow, Xscape, Jagged Edge, Da Brat, and many more. But every successful music story has missed opportunities, and JD shared one that he regrets during a Q&A on Instagram with Black Love.
When asked if Dupri had artists he regretted passing on and his reply may shock some. “I regret not trying to do TLC at the same time as Kris Kross. I was only 19- years old at the time and didn’t believe in myself as a person, as someone having the bandwidth to have both artists. I was putting so much energy into Kriss Kross, and I was only giving TLC maybe 30 to 40 percent, not even 50 percent.”
“I felt I was spreading myself thin by trying to provide both of these groups what they needed to become the success they eventually both grew to become,” Dupri continued. “So I eliminated myself from TLC being a group that I actually introduced to the world.”
The Hip Hop veteran’s ties to the girl group have been documented in the past. The super producer sat down with TV One’s Uncensored and revealed that Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was the inspiration behind Kriss Kross’ whole swag.
“TLC was my group before they got signed to La Face,” he previously told Uncensored. “Left Eye was living at my house when I found Kris Kross. The backwards clothes came after we started getting more and more songs… The backwards clothes actually came from being around Left Eye. ‘Cause Left Eye was around here trying to cut her sleeves off of every shirt and she had me—I shaved my whole eyebrow off. I only had one eyebrow and I was walking around doing wild sh*t. I had a nose ring. We was just doing whatever we could do to get somebody’s attention.”

Janet Jackson is showing her appreciation for essential workers who continue to put themselves at risk as the country attempts to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The pop star, 53, took to Instagram Monday to acknowledge medical personnel, grocers and others who have been called to work through the current COVID-19 crisis.
“While most of us are inside there are many brave people around the world that aren’t able to be isolated because we need them. 🤗,” she began the note. “I want to take a moment to recognize and say thank you to the nurses, doctors, hospitals, healthcare providers, scientists, drivers, pilots, flight attendants, delivery teams, cleaners, grocery stores, clerks, teachers, managers, men and women in uniform, sanitation facilities, janitorial teams, reporters, journalists, security professionals and everyone around the world who are working nonstop to end the spread of the virus. Rihanna And Jay-Z’s Foundations Donate Funds To #COVID19 Relief!
Last week Rihanna’s Clara Lion Foundation distributed $5 million to numerous community health organizations that are aiding in combatting the spread of COVID-19. Those funds went to purchasing critical protective gear, medical supplies, equipment, and access to food across multiple regions.
Today, the Foundation returns with JAY-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation in the combined amount of $2 million to support Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles, The Fund for Public Schools, The American Civil Liberties Union and New York Immigration Coalition. Those funds will support undocumented workers, children of frontline health workers & first responders, and incarcerated, elderly and homeless people.
Over the weekend New York Governor Andrew Cuomo thanked Rihanna for making a contribution to the efforts of containing the coronavirus in the state.

California To Release Up To 3,500 Non-Violent Inmates Over Coronavirus Fears!
New Mexico man arrested for intentionally coughing on store customers
California plans to reduce its state jail population by up to 3,500 inmates to reduce crowding during the coronavirus pandemic.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on Tuesday outlined two main steps for the reduction: suspending the intake of prisoners from county jails and expediting the transition to parole for inmates charged with non-violent crimes with 60 days or less left on their sentence.
“We do not take these new measures lightly. Our first commitment at CDCR is ensuring safety – of our staff, of the incarcerated population, of others inside our institutions, and of the community at large,” said CDCR Secretary Ralph Diaz in a statement.
“However, in the face of a global pandemic, we must consider the risk of COVID-19 infection as a grave threat to safety, too,” Diaz added.
California is currently among the hardest hit states by the coronavirus outbreak, reporting more than 8,000 confirmed cases and more than 180 virus-related deaths.
As the pandemic has intensified in the United States, doctors and social justice advocates have highlighted the vulnerability of prison populations living in cramped, unsanitary conditions.
Mayor Bill de Blasio in New York has released hundreds of high-risk inmates from Rikers Island and other city jail facilities shortly after the top doctor at Rikers warned that a “storm is coming.”
As of Monday, 22 California state prison employees and four inmates have tested positive for COVID-19, according to state officials.
California’s corrections department estimates that up to 3,500 inmates would be eligible to ship out for parole early. The halt on accepting new inmates from county jails will naturally reduce the state prison population by about 3,000 within 30 days, according to the department.
It was not immediately clear when the inmates would start to be released.
Roughly 115,000 prisoners are locked behind bars in California’s prisons, according to a California policy institute.
For prison staffs and those remaining locked up, the department said in a news release it has developed “comprehensive healthcare guidelines” following policy from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The plan includes mandatory verbal and temperature screenings for staff and a temporarily ban inmate visitation.
NFL Owners Agree To Expand Playoff Bracket To 14 Teams, Beginning With 2020 Season!
NFL has announced they’re expanding its playoff bracket from 12 to 14 teams beginning in the 2020 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
This new structure will feature seven teams per conference, with one bye game going to the top team of each conference.
With the new playoff adjustments, fans will see three wild-card games from each conference, including games between the No. 2 and the No. 7 seed. So basically, fans will get to watch six wild-card games during the wild-card weekend.
If this playoff structure had took place in 2019, Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers would have battled in the AFC, while Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams faced off in the NFC. The second-seeded team from each conference will have a slightly more difficult path to reach the Super Bowl. Three wins must be achieved instead of two.
Earning the No. 1 seed is just as important as having the only first-round bye. The last 14 teams in the Super Bowl since 2013 all had first-round byes.
The playoff change was approved on Tuesday, with 24 of the 32 NFL owners in the agreement of the changes.

“I just saw this thing on TV and it was very interesting. And it was talking about if you are stuck in your house, which we all are [because of ] the coronavirus, that we find constructive things to do and we try to find some inner peace,” Mrs. Lawson said. “ One of the things [the show] suggested you do is you find all the things in your house that you never got to finish, and take that time, use it wisely, and do those things”.
Mrs. Lawson then turns her camera to show us all the “things” she plans on completing as she spends time at home to self-quarantine.
“I went through the house and this is what I found unfinished. I found some Patron, Hennessy, Jake Daniels, Grey Goose, and Rum Bar. A couple of prescription drugs and guess what happened,”
After a quick fade, Mrs. Lawson appears back on camera a little disheveled and jokingly says
“So…you know…I took the advice of [that show] and I finished everything I started. Like this Grey Goose, and the Rum Bar, the Jake Daniels, the Hennessy, the Patron, and all the pills. And I am feeling such inner peace”

Pharrell Williams has been criticized after asking fans to donate to a coronavirus fundraiser.
The artist recently shared a link to the GoFundMe page on Twitter, writing: "Hospitals are running low on masks, gowns, and other critical items. We need to replenish their supplies.
“Take action, make a donation, and ask others to join the fight. We’re in this together. Let’s protect the responders on the frontlines.”
The GoFundMe page has raised more than $4m so far to help provide healthcare workers with critical supplies.

Williams specified that he has made a donation to the page himself but “wanted to make sure [his] followers had a way to get involved” if needed.

"You and your rich friends have more disposable income so you donate!" one person wrote.
Someone else urged Williams: “Read the room my guy. Read the room.”
“We’re being laid off & can’t pay our bills but thanks for asking,” reads another response.
A representative for Williams declined to comment.

Alicia Keys is gearing up for the release of her memoir More Myself and she recalled the moment she felt “manipulated” and “objectified” at 19 years old.
The singer wrote that during a magazine photoshoot the photographer convinced her team to do the shoot alone. After that, he instructed her to “Open up your shirt a little” and “Pull the top of your jeans down a bit in the front.”
“My spirit is screaming that something is wrong, that this feels sleazy. But my protests, lodged in the back of my throat, can’t make their way out,” Keys writes. “I swallow my misgivings, tuck my thumb between the denim and my skin, and obey.”

Twitter DRAGS ‘Tiger King’ Fans Rooting For Joe Exotic After ‘N-Word’ Footage Surfaces!
The docu-series “Tiger King” has been captivating audiences ever since it made its debut on Netflix on March 20. One can argue, it was even a “cross-over” hit, considering Black Twitter couldn’t stop talking about the show. However, unearthed footage of the show’s main star, Joe Exotic, might change how people feel about the T.V. phenomenon or it might meet people’s already held expectations.
Joe Exotic (born Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage) is the main subject followed throughout the docu-series and he’s the “Tiger King” leading his personal zoo in Oklahoma of wild animals and big cats. Joe is also in a polyamorous relationship with two other men, which is explored a bit throughout the series.
The most intense aspect of Joe’s life is his rivalry with a woman named Carole Baskin, who believes he’s exploiting animals, although her collection of big cats in a caged park also makes her a questionable moral pillar. Joe hates this woman so much that he’s currently locked up after being found guilty for a 2019 murder-for-hire plot against Baskin.
Initially, many Black people seemed to side with Joe on social media with tweets like, “FREE MY NI**A JOE” surfacing online.
However, old footage surfaced online that might give people a change of heart.
According to TMZ, footage from 2015 surfaced where Joe is complaining that he can’t use the N-word. “What’s going on in this country,” he asked in the clip which appears to be from his old online reality show “Joe Exotic TV”.
“It’s absolutely pathetic. I can’t say the N-word but you can get on YouTube and watch any black man’s video and they’re calling each other the N-word. What the hell?”
Joe then questioned, “Is this discrimination? I’m white, I can’t say the N-word and they can?”
Joe recently filed a lawsuit saying that there’s a big conspiracy behind him getting locked up. Even Cardi B said she would start a GoFundMe campaign to help free Joe Exotic. However, she would later say that she was kidding about the GoFundMe page but she still loves Joe.
Considering the recent clip of Joe complaining about the N-word, some Black people might not support him as much anymore. “THIS who y’all wanna Free?” tweeted comedian Roy Wood, Jr.
Some Black people weren’t surprised by Joe Exotic’s words even considering the lack of Black people on the show.
