Dominic Cooper for Attitude Magazine! He Reflects on Working With Ex Amanda Seyfried on Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
Dominic Cooper was prepared for a "delicate" situation—working with his ex, Amanda Seyfried, on Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
The two met on the set of the first Mamma Mia! in 2007, playing an engaged couple, and dated until 2011. They reprise their roles as Sophie and Sky, now married, in the sequel.
Cooper told Attitude magazine in an interview published in its August 2018 issue and online on Thursday that he is still close friends with Seyfried. and that it was "nice to spend time" with her again.
"She's a friend," he said. "It was always going to be OK. You just have to be delicate with those situations."
Seyfried married Thomas Sadoski in March 2017 and gave birth to their first child, a daughter, weeks later.
"She's married now and has a beautiful child," Cooper told Attitude. "We knew we were going to be working together [again] on a set, going back to a part which was certainly going to remind us of 10 years earlier, but I know her family, I know her mum, who was there a lot."
"It was a pleasant atmosphere," he added. "It was really interesting to see how different our lives are after 10 years. It is a long time and it was nice to spend time [with her]."
Cooper had told The London Times last year, before production on Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again began, "I think it will be fine working with Amanda again. I haven't spoken to her for a while, but we always remained friends. Though it'll be odd, gazing into each other's eyes and singing an ABBA song."
Cooper later said on ITV's Lorraine it was "lovely" to film the movie with Seyfried, as they had "stayed in contact."
"We split about three years after the movie came out and after we split we became really close friends," Seyfried said in comments posted by The Mirror this week. "The last time I'd seen him was when I hung out with him on my 30th birthday. It wasn't weird seeing him again."
She also said she thinks her husband thought that Cooper is still in love with her, adding, "I'd rather he be jealous than completely fine with it. He's been great. He's very supportive and he loves this movie, and [he and Dominic] got along absolutely fine when we were shooting."

HipHopNews: Offset's Attorney Reportedly Thinks Police Targeted Him For Being Black & Rich
Offset’s attorney, Drew Findling, believes his client was targeted by police for being black and successful. According to TMZ, Findling says the Migos rapper didn’t break any laws and maintains pulling him over for an improper lane change was a reach.
“It’s a common theme,” Findling told TMZ. “We’re talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry.
“Unfortunately, people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity … and that is a sad statement.”
The 26-year-old was arrested on Friday (July 20) just outside of Georgia after authorities reportedly found three handguns, marijuana and $107,000 in the Porsche 911 he was driving.
Subsequently, Offset was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors, including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a weapon during a crime, possession of marijuana (one ounce or less) and an improper lane change.
Findling, who has represented Gucci Mane, Trippie Redd and Katt Williams in the past, reportedly thinks the entire incident was an attempt to take Offset down.
He told TMZ his client was not in possession of any firearm. Rather, it was Offset’s assistant — a licensed gun holder — who had the weapons in the car. Findling explained Offset needs protection because of the large amounts of cash he typically carries and expensive jewelry he often wears.
Offset’s wife, Cardi B, revealed her husband was out of jail on Saturday (July 21). He reportedly posted $17,000 bail.
‘Black-ish’ Star Anthony Anderson Under Criminal Investigation for Allegedly Assaulting a Woman
Anthony Anderson is currently under criminal investigation for allegedly assaulting a woman after she catered an event thrown by the actor, but Anderson strongly denies the allegation.
Sources familiar with the situation tell us the alleged victim walked into the Hollywood Division of LAPD earlier this year and filed a police report with the department. We are told the incident happened over a year ago after she met the actor while working at an event he threw.
Allegedly after the initial event, the woman met with Anderson a second time to discuss future business opportunities when the alleged assault occurred.
Sources close to the situation tell us she felt comfortable enough to come forward months after the alleged incident occurred, due in part to the “#MeToo movement.”
According to the LAPD they said “We have a crime report listing him as a suspect in a crime,” and added, “It is an open investigation.”
The specific details regarding the alleged assault are currently unclear.
A spokesperson for Anderson tells us, “It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report whether it is true or false. The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim.”
It’s not the first time the star has been facing serious accusations. In 2004, an extra on set of the Oscar-winning movie “Hustle & Flow” accused Anderson and an assistant director of raping her in a trailer on the Memphis set.
The case was later dropped after the woman’s testimony did not produce probable cause to warrant the charges standing.
Box Office News: Denzel’s Equalizer 2 comes in at #1 and Mamma Mia 2 Here we go Again comes in at #2!
It was a brutal battle but someone had to come out on top! Denzel Washington unleashes brutal and lethal violence upon deserving bad guys.” The Denzel Washington action movie has become a brand unto itself, so the fact that The Equalizer 2 is his first real sequel is almost trivia. Folks showed up this weekend because they wanted to see another installment of Denzel Washington: Righteous Revenger Man.
Denzel Washington’s first sequel grossed $35.825 million over its debut weekend. Arbitrary rank notwithstanding ($34.4m for Mamma Mia 2 is still terrific), it means the film had a solid 2.67x weekend multiplier. That’s just above the $34.137m opening weekend (sans inflation) of The Equalizer back in September of 2014. To be fair, this sequel is facing another popular sequel (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) in a crowded summer season.
This sequel sees Washington avenging a fallen ally, earned mixed-negative reviews about on par with the first Equalizer. But audiences didn’t care, as the film snagged an A from Cinemascore. It is to Sony’s credit that they didn’t rush this and brought back the director (Antoine Fuqua) and writer (Richard Wenk).
Universal's Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again brought in an estimated $34.38 million for a second place finish. While this is a bit below earlier weekend estimates, this is still a very strong debut for the sequel, outperforming the first film by nearly $7 million. In 2008, Mamma Mia! finished its run with $144.1 million and while it wouldn't be fair to expect the sequel to deliver a similar 5x+ multiplier, this is still the fourth largest opening ever for a musical and ranks similarly to 2007's Enchanted, which finished its domestic run with $127.8 million. Here We Go Again's "A-" CinemaScore is promising as is the fact the film plays to a targeted female demographic (83% of the opening weekend audience was female) with little direct competition throughout the rest of the summer season.
Internationally, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again opened in 41 markets and outperformed the original in 34 of those markets. Top markets include a $13.1 million opening in the U.K. and Ireland along with Australia ($5m), Germany ($4.5m) Sweden ($2.6m), Norway ($2m) and Spain ($2m). Overall, the film opened with $42.4 million internationally for a $76.78 million global debut. Next week, the film opens in France, Switzerland, Croatia and Poland.

Ms. Lauryn Hill gets the plug pulled at metro Detroit concert
It isn’t a Miseducation AT ALL!
On Friday night, Ms. Lauryn Hill graced Sterling Heights Michiagn with her presence, and she was shut down early. Yes, somebody turned the lights on right as the legendary hip-hop artist was gearing up to play one of her most beloved songs, “Doo Wop (That Thing),” while celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Misseducation of Lauryn Hill. Why we can’t have nice things?
In all fairness, the star-studded show — with openers including Busta Rhymes and Santigold — seemed to be doomed from the start. Mother Nature threatened to ruin a good time, with dark clouds circling overhead.
However, it wasn’t all gloom and doom. Despite some obvious sound problems, Busta Rhymes put on an amazing show, donned in a glittery suit and accompanied by his longtime partner in crime, DJ Spliff — who was hospitalized for a heart condition only a few weeks ago. He emphasized that no matter what small problems were arising, he was grateful to be on stage with Spliff and celebrating Hill.
Santigold, who announced on stage that she just had two babies four weeks ago, also put on a high-energy, stellar performance. Joined by two back-up dancers, Santigold and her fusion of genres lifted the crowd's mood and had the crowd transfixed. After her set, the audience’s energy had obviously shifted, resulting in an impromptu but perfectly in-sync dance party erupting in the amphitheater’s center staircase.
With anticipation running high, Hill finally entered center stage in a fairytale-like princess dress, pink headwrap, and denim jacket — looking exactly like the queen everyone knows her to be, and her performance was nothing less than royal. She opened the show with the legendary album's title track, “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” accompanied by a lush ten-piece band.
Hill served as both performer and band director, commanding the troupe of musicians with ease and delivering unexpected alternative versions of some of the songs that shaped hip-hop. Probably the most hype moment was when she sang “Everything is Everything,” one of the hits that resonated so strongly with her audience.
Sadly, the high was promptly quashed at 11 p.m., the venue's mandated stop time, right in the middle of the “Doo Wop” intro. There was a feeble attempt at bringing her back on stage, but to no avail. The crowd trickled out of the amphitheater with heads down and furrowed brows.
Throughout, Hill seemed eerily calm, probably a result of her own advice: “Everything is everything/ what is meant to be will be/ and nothing even matters at all.”
American Horror Story Season 8 Has a New Title and Horrifying Poster
We're getting ever closer to the release of American Horror Story Season 8, and the show's new subtitle has finally been revealed, along with a set of terrifying new posters.
Last season, AHS: Cult managed to be both incredibly dark and extremely political. With the newly announced subtitle Apocalypse, AHS Season 8 promises to take the show in an even scarier direction. And as if the title wasn't creepy enough, new posters promoting the season have also been released, and they're not for the faint of heart.
In the first, a hand, which appears to belong to the Devil himself, reaches across to tickle a baby. Or, like, rip out its organs... it's unclear which. Luckily, the baby isn't real, and is just a doll, but still:
And in the second image, the same terrifying hand, with its long, spiky fingernails, covers the baby's mouth. The image is perhaps even more disturbing than the first:
Star, Sarah Paulson, also shared one of the photos on Instagram, along with the message, "No caption needed."
Back in June 2018, the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed via Twitter that Season 8 of AHS will be the long-awaited Murder House/Coven crossover.
Murphy also made it clear that several beloved characters from previous seasons of the show would be back, saying, "The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won't be happening next year... because it's happening THIS YEAR. AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER."
The co-creator also told Entertainment Weekly, "You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept."
Whitney Houston’s Mother Cissy Houston is Reportedly Diagnosed with Dementia
Mother of the late singer Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston was recently diagnosed with early stages of dementia.
A source told Radar Online, “She’s in the early stages of dementia… She repeats herself a lot and doesn’t remember what she says. She just says she’s getting old.”
The strain of the 84-year-old’s daughter Whitney and grand-daughter Bobby Kristina passing has been a huge factor in the decline of her health. The allegations of Whitney and her brother Gary being molested by their cousin Dee Dee Warwick also took a toll on Cissy. “The family is already fractured enough but she has had enough clarity to know what’s going on with these claims and is very upset,” the source said.
It’s reported earlier this week that Cissy disowned her son after the “Whitney” documentary in which he opened up about being molested. Gary said in the film that he was molested between the ages of 7-9 years old. He also added that he was violated by a female family member and that Whitney was too.
Warwick was 18 years older than Whitney and passed away in 2008. She often sang with Cissy gospel group Drinkard Singers and also back up to big names like Aretha Franklin.
Comic-Con 2018: New Netflix trailer for Matt Groening's Disenchantment
Look out, Bart Simpson. There's a new animated comedy show for Netflix coming from The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening. But instead of Springfield, the show takes place in a past world called Dreamland.
Disenchanment tells the story of Bean (voiced by Abbi Jacobson), a princess who looks a bit like a younger, bucktooth white-haired Marge Simpson. She's joined by her elf friend Elfo (Nat Faxon) and her personal demon Luci (Eric Andre).
In the new trailer, unveiled on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con International, we see more of the medieval kingdom of Dreamland. We also discover Bean is being forced to wed a rather stupid prince by her father, the King (John DiMaggio).
Instead she runs away with her elf pal and demon to take charge of her own destiny. And of course, there are plenty of ogres, sprites, imps, and other fantasy creatures amongst the humans, which will most likely result in some rather hilarious hijinks.
Disenchantment's cast also includes voice actors Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.
Disenchantment arrives on Netflix on Aug. 17.
One Dead, Shooting Suspect In Custody After Police Standoff At LA Trader Joe's
Los Angeles police say a suspected gunman who held people hostage inside a Trader Joe's in the city's Silver Lake neighborhood is now in custody. At least one person is dead.
Police identified the suspect as a man about 28 years old, who surrendered three hours after barricading himself inside the store where other people had been trapped. Police have not yet released the suspect's name.
Officials say the incident began Saturday afternoon when the suspect shot his grandmother and another woman around 1:30 p.m. at a South Los Angeles residence. He then forced the second woman outside toward a vehicle, and drove away in his grandmother's Toyota Camry, LAPD Sgt. Barry Montgomery said.
After reports of the domestic shooting, police used a theft-tracking device to find the suspect near Hollywood. "The suspect was located via LoJack and a pursuit ensued at which point the suspect fired multiple rounds at pursuing officers," the LAPD tweeted in a thread after the incident concluded. No officers were injured. The chase ended in the suspect crashing into a pole outside the Trader Joe's.
The suspect fled the vehicle and hid inside the store. Some customers managed to escape the store with help from police and employees. Footage showed police officers helping people to climb out of windows with rope ladders the gunman took 40-50 people hostage.
Twenty-four-year-old Julia Arnold, who lives behind Trader Joe's, says was leaving her house when she saw the chaotic scene. Arnold spoke to a young woman who'd been in contact with her brother, one of the hostages who she heard had been hiding in either a "refrigerator or freezer."
LAPD Chief Michael Moore said the gunman killed one young woman inside the store. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman David Ortiz said earlier that a different female in "stable condition" had been taken to the hospital.
The standoff ended when the gunman handcuffed himself, said Mayor Eric Garcetti. Via aerial video, the suspect was seen exiting the market in handcuffs. A number of people also left the store; one person was sitting on a stretcher. Garcetti thanked the LAPD and the Los Angeles Fire Department, adding that the heroism shown Saturday was "second to none."
"We have successfully taken the suspect into custody without incident," the LAPD tweeted.

‘Black Panther’ Princess Shuri Inspires Comic Book Series Spinoff
King T’Challa’s little sister, Princess Shuri was undoubtedly the breakout star from Marvel’s blockbuster, Black Panther. While the superhero film may have moved on from the big screen, fans can keep up with Shuri in another way. According to Bustle reports, the S.T.E.M. genius will reportedly get her own comic book series, entitled Shuri.
Eisner-nominated artist Leonardo Romero is reportedly behind the forthcoming series. Nnedi Okorafor (author of Black Panther: Long Live the King) will pen the script. The story will follow Shuri as she is tasked with the enormous responsibility of taking over the throne after her brother disappears while on a mission to space.
“Shuri is happiest in a lab, surrounded by gadgets of her own creation,” the official synopsis reads. “She’d rather be testing gauntlets than throwing them. But a nation without a leader is a vulnerable one—and Shuri may have to choose between Wakanda’s welfare and her own.”
Okorafor spoke to Shuri’s relevance in the Marvel world as well as black culture. “[Shuri is] an African young woman of genius level intelligence who is obsessed with technology and has traveled spiritually so far into the past that she’s seen Wakanda before it was Wakanda,” she told Bustle.
“The Ancestors call her Ancient Future. And she’s super ambitious. What do I love about her? All that and more. She’s a character in the Marvel Universe who really sings to me.”
Actress Letitia Wright originally played Shuri onscreen and reprised the role in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. Her performance received several great reviews.
Shuri will reportedly be available in October 2018.
Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift and James Corden will be apart of The 'Cats' film Adaption
Taylor Swift and Jennifer Hudson join James Corden and more in the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway musical 'Cats’. The fourth-longest-running show in history, "Cats" tells the story of the Jellicles, a group of cats of whom one will be granted an extra life.
While Swift's role has yet to be announced, "Variety" confirms that Hudson will play Grizabella, a former "glamour cat" who sings infamous song, "Memory."
Tom Hooper -- who directed 2012's "Les Miserables" film adaptation -- is set to helm the adaptation, which will start filming in the U.K. later this year. The musical, which is based off of T.S. Eliot's collection of poems entitled "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats," was originally adapted for the stage by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It ran on Broadway from 1997 to 2006. A short-lived revival starring Leona Lewis ran from 2016 to 2017.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s fifth birthday tomorrow,” the Kensington Palace said in a statement.
In the photo, captured by photographer Matt Porteous, Prince George is showing off a toothy smile. Porteous captured the sweet moment on July 9 after the christening of George’s youngest brother, Prince Louis.
