SADNESS: David Cassidy, ‘Partridge Family’ Star, Dies at 67
David Cassidy, pop culture idol of the 1970s, died Tuesday in a Florida hospital. The musician and actor was 67.

His publicist JoAnn Geffen confirmed his death, with a statement from his family. “On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

He had been hospitalized for several days with organ failure. Cassidy announced his diagnosis with dementia in early 2017. He performed at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York in March, talking about his dementia, and said his arthritis made playing guitar an ordeal.

With pretty-boy good looks and a long mane of dark hair, Cassidy was one every girl’s favorite teen crush in the early 1970s and drew screaming crowds at concert appearances. David Cassidy was part of a showbusiness family that included his father, Tony-winning actor Jack Cassidy, stepmother Shirley Jones, half-brother Shaun Cassidy and daughter, actress Katie Cassidy.
Raised in New Jersey, Cassidy moved to Los Angeles in 1969 after starring in a Broadway musical that closed after only four performances. In 1970, after signing with Universal, Cassidy took on the role of older brother Keith Partridge in “The Partridge Family.” Keith was the son of Shirley Partridge, who was played by Jones.

The ABC sitcom was loosely based on real-life family musical act the Cowsills, and ran from 1970 to 1974. The show became popular for its squeaky queen portrayal of life on the road as a family rock band in a brightly painted bus. In addition to Cassidy and Jones, “The Partridge Family” starred Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce and Suzanne Crough as the family’s other children, and Dave Madden as manager Ruben Kincaid.

Cassidy and Jones were the only cast members who were allowed to actually sing; the other kids lip-synced, while the Wrecking Crew provided musical backup. Theme song “C’mon Get Happy” became one of TV’s most enduring songs, and helped launch Cassidy’s musical career.
After the singles “I Think I Love You” and “Cherish” took off, Cassidy began working on solo albums as well. He regularly sold out stadiums, leading to commentators to coin the phrase “Cassidymania.” Several of his shows resulted in riots or mass hysteria, including one notable 1974 performance in Australia, which garnered calls for Cassidy to be deported from the country.

At a 1974 London concert, nearly 800 people were injured in a stampede at a Cassidy concert, and one teenage girl died a few days later. He stopped touring and acting soon after, concentrating on recording, and had a hit with “I Write the Songs” before Barry Manilow made it part of his act.
In musical theater, he performed in “Little Johnny Jones,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Time” and “Blood Brothers” and created the Vegas shows “The Rat Pack is Back” and “At the Copa.”
Cassidy was Emmy nominated for a guest role on a “Police Story” episode “A Chance to Live.” NBC based the series “David Cassidy – Man Undercover” on the segment, but it lasted just one season. He also made guest appearances on shows including “Fantasy Island,” “The Love Boat” and “Tales of the Unexpected.”

In the decades that followed, Cassidy continued to perform in Las Vegas and tour. At later shows, Cassidy was known for participating in Q&A sessions at his concerts. He also played the manager of Aaron Carter’s character in the 2005 film “Popstar” and starred with half-brother Patrick in “Ruby and the Rockits,” created by his half-brother Shaun.
But he struggled with achieving his peak fame early in life, dealing with alcoholism and being arrested several times for DUIs. He filed for bankruptcy in 2015.

He is survived by half-brothers Shaun Cassidy, actors Patrick and Ryan; daughter Katie Cassidy and son, actor Beau Cassidy.

#RHoA: Cynthia Bailey Tells Folks LEAVE KENYA ALONE! They're Very Much Married' and 'He's a Great Guy!
Cynthia Bailey is defending co-star Kenya Moore against skeptics - including NeNe Leakes - who doubt the authenticity of her surprise marriage to Marc Daly this season of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
In a recent Season 10 episode, Kenya told Cynthia she had eloped with Marc, with NeNe later demanding to "see the marriage license."

"Why would Kenya publicly say that she's married only to be exposed if she's not?" Cynthia told TooFab. "Why would she set herself up for that? She's on a reality show. If she's not married, it's going to be exposed. So why would she set herself up for that? That doesn't make any sense."
"And the other question is, why would a man agree to go down this road with her if it's not true? The fans can say what they want to say about Kenya, but at the end of the day, they don't know anything about her husband. Why would he want to do this? What is he getting out of it? Nothing. I don't understand the upside of even creating that kind of charade," she added.

Cynthia said she's "met her husband many times" and noted that "he's a great guy, and they're very much married."
"It's crazy to think that anyone would put themselves in this position to be exposed," Cynthia continued. "She's in the public eye. It just wouldn't make sense for either one of them to sign up to do that because if they're not, it will come out."

Keep reading to see what Cynthia said about NeNe and Kim Zolciak's return and her new home. Catch an all-new episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" Sunday night on Bravo.

The baby boy on the way will be Marcille’s first child with boyfriend Michael Sterling, a recent candidate for the mayor of Atlanta. She also shares daughter Marley Rae, 3½, with ex Kevin McCall.

“I said, ‘Marley, would you like to have a little brother or sister?’ And she said, ‘Yes, Mom, but you know what? Maybe a baby brother. Make it a brother,’ ” the 33-year-old mom-to-be recalls of the sweet conversation between herself and her little girl.

“I thought that was adorable, but at the time, I had no idea what I was having, so my fear [about] this extremely expressive and outgoing young girl [was] if this baby came out to be a little girl, that might not be a great situation for Marley,” adds Marcille with a laugh.

Congrats!

Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian REIGNITE their ‘beef’ on Twitter at Serena Williams Wedding?
Speculation ran wild about the so-called beef between the pop music megastar Bey, 36, and reality TV star Kardashian, 36, and fueled hilarious commentary across the Twitter-sphere.

As was the case at the Grammy Awards a few years back, there were buffers that separated the Queen Bey from Kim K. as Beyoncé’s  former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland and her husband Tim Weatherspoon stood in between them.

However, E! reported that the duo came face-to-face for the first time since their husbands’ fall out.
Beyoncé was also a no show at Kim K. and Kanye’s wedding, despite her and husband Jay Z’s names being engraved into a marble table waiting for them there.

The feud was made official when Kanye ranted about Hov during a concert last year, claiming their kids never even played together, and accusing Beyonce of refusing to perform at the VMAs unless her video beat his.
But the nuptials of a friend in common to both Knowles and Kardashian, Williams to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, was an an opportunity for the former friends to patch things up.

Neither Kanye nor Jay Z accompanied their wives to the ceremony. But Twitter had plenty of pettiness to spread regarding Knowles and Kardashian.
HA!

#PRAYERS Jesse Jackson diagnosed with Parkinson's disease
Civil rights activist the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Friday that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. A neurological disorder with no cure, Parkinson's can cause tremors, stiffness and difficulty balancing, walking and coordinating movement.

"My family and I began to notice changes about three years ago," Jackson wrote in a statement. "After a battery of tests, my physicians identified the issue as Parkinson's disease, a disease that bested my father."

Jackson added that "recognition of the effects of this disease on me has been painful."
He also said he sees his diagnosis as "a signal that I must make lifestyle changes and dedicate myself to physical therapy in hopes of slowing the disease's progression."

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, the 76-year-old is a two-time Democratic presidential candidate. Highlights of his career include participating in civil rights demonstrations with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., negotiating successfully for the release of three US soldiers who had been held in Yugoslavia and receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Bill Clinton.

Jackson's son Jesse Jr. is a former US congressman who represented Illinois' 2nd District.

John Legend and Wife Chrissy Teigen is Expecting their Second Child
Luna Simone is going to be a big sister!

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend — who celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary on Sept. 14 — are expecting their second child, she shared on social media Tuesday, hilariously captioning the announcement video, “It’s John’s!”
Legend — who commented jokingly on his wife’s Tuesday post with, “Maury will have the final word on this” —revealing the couple were “working on” baby No. 2 and that “hopefully it will be soon.”

The model mama-to-be opened up to E! News earlier this month about adding to her family, staying mum on her pregnancy but hinting that a new baby might be coming sooner rather than later.

“We’re still trying … I’m going for, I mean hopefully in the next few years, because for me I really want to just knock ’em out,” Teigen said, adding that she’s feeling “good.”
“That’s my dream, I want to just be pregnant kind of for the rest of my life,” she confessed. “Not for the rest of my life, but the rest of my fertile life. So we’ll see.”
Teigen has been candid in the past about her and her musician husband’s journey toward conception with now-19-month-old Luna, revealing in February 2016 that the couple chose to implant a female embryo during the in vitro fertilization round that resulted in the pregnancy with their daughter.

“The first little girl didn’t work, and then the second is Luna,” she told InStyle for their November cover story, explaining that she and Legend started with 20 embryos, but that number was narrowed down to three after screening and based on what was “going to be good for [my] body.”
The sex of the couple’s second child on the way is unconfirmed at this point, but a son wouldn’t be a surprise. In January, they spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the 28th Annual Producers Guild Awards, where Teigen said with a smile, “A little boy is next, for sure.”

The Lip Sync Battle host, 31, later clarified her comments on Twitter, writing, “Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah.”

Congrats!

Nicki Minaj Is Laughing At Wendy Williams For Claiming She Is Obsessing Over Cardi B’s Success
Cardi B is not keeping Nicki Minaj up at night; neither is controversial TV host Wendy Williams.
Recently, the platinum-selling femcee decided to break the Internet by being the cover girl of Paper Magazine.
The racy cover features Minaj in various outfits and lingerie doing a variety of scandalous and sensual gestures.

The pictures inside the publication grabbed headlines and became a hot topic on several TV programs.
The host of the Wendy Williams Show had a lot to say about the raunchy spread.

And a source close to Minaj claimed that she had the following reaction to Williams’ comments: “She is laughing at the people who are getting all bent out of shape over her Paper cover. She knows that cover was straight fire, and her haters are not going to make her think otherwise. Nicki’s happy Wendy is shading her. If no one was talking, then she would be worried. She wanted to do something iconic, and she did. No one is going to forget this cover.”

The pal stated that the “Ananconda” diva is proud of the photos and added: “Nicki is so proud of this cover. She had so much fun doing the shoot. Break The Internet.”

Williams threw some massive shade at Minaj’s way by saying: “I get in a Cardi B world, you have been here for a moment, and you are trying to retain your position in rap music and stuff. I get it, Remy Ma is on your tail, and Lil Kim is about to do something awful. Nicki’s about to come out with an album, ‘Sink or Swim,’ and this is her way of swimming … It is desperate and distasteful. This cover makes Kim [Kardashian]’s look like a kindergartener. This has gone too far.”

Are you a fan of the photos?

Judge Tosses Lawsuit Filed By Wiz Khalifa’s Mother Against Amber Rose
Charlie Rose Suspended From CBS News, PBS and Bloomberg After Eight Women Accuse Him Of Sexual Harassment

Amber Rose just dodged a major legal bullet after a judge ruled in her favor in the lawsuit filed against her.
Earlier this year, #WizKhalifa’s mother, Katie Wimbush-Polk filed a lawsuit against the model for defamation after Rose reportedly called her an unfit mother. According to the suit, Rose reportedly blamed Wiz’s mother for her own daughter’s death, which was also cited in the suit. But, at the time, the judge threw out the defamation claim.

Since then, Polk made new claims, saying her ex-daughter-in-law’s claims caused her emotional distress. Now though, according to TMZ, a judge has tossed the suit, as Rose’s claims were not extreme and outrageous enough to prove emotional distress.
“Mere insults, indignities, threats, annoyances, petty oppressions, and other trivialities” do not result in emotional distress, the judge ruled, according to the publication. Instead, the judge said the dispute was just a minor disagreement between former family members.
