Sevyn Streeter Shines On Cover of Rolling Out Magazine
The R&B vixen saw the release of her much-anticpated debut full-length album, Girl Disrupted, last month. In her latest promotion for the album, the Florida native shines on the cover of Rolling Out magazine.
In the issue, Sevyn opens up about the healing process of songwriting and performing music. “Writing for other artists is [incredible],” Streeter says. “It’s like my favorite thing in the world to do and mainly because it’s a trusting process. People have to really trust you for them to allow you to write their story. I [cherish] the interaction and the relationships with artists that I write for. It’s just [the] bomb!”
Additionally, she gives fans further background on her early beginnings as an aspiring artist, the situation last year regarding the “We Matter” jersey she wore to perform at the Philadelphia 76ers game, dealing with depression, and more.
“I think a lot of times people think just because we’re artists that we don’t go through s—, and that could not be any further from the truth,” Sevyn said. “That just comes with being an artist. I hate to say this, but every artist has a little bipolar in them. It doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s something wrong with you. It just means that you’ve tapped into different emotions, and that’s all being an artist is.”

Legendary R&B group 112 play with a full deck on their sexy new single, “Dangerous Games.”

Mindy Kaling Says She’s ‘Really Excited’ About Becoming a Mom in First Interview About Motherhood
Mindy Kaling is ready for baby!
The actress and author confirmed she’s going to be a mom and shared that she’s “really excited” about it during a sit-down with Willie Geist for Sunday Today – the first time she’s spoken publicly about her happy news.
“It’s so unknown to me,” Kaling said in a preview for the interview. “I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and this is one where I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s out of my hands,’ which is kind of a fun feeling.”
The Mindy Project star is looking to her own mother, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2012 , for inspiration on what kind of parent she wants to be. “My mom was incredibly fierce and so devoted to us, just loved us and really wanted us to be happy no matter what we did,” she explains.
5 Different Drugs Found In Tiger Woods’ System During Time Of DUI Arrest
Almost three months after being hit with a DUI in Jupiter, Florida, it’s being revealed that golf professional Tiger Woods had multiple drugs in his system at time of the arrest.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, five drugs were detected in the athlete’s urine: THC, the active ingredient in marijuana; the painkillers hydrocodone and hydromorphone, known by their brand names Vicodin and Dilaudid; the sleep drug zolpidem, sold under the brand name Ambien; and the anti-anxiety medication alprazolam (commonly known as Xanax).
Following the report, Woods released a statement that read: “I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance. I am continuing to work with my doctors, and they feel I’ve made significant progress. I remain grateful for the amazing support that I continue to receive and for the family and friends that are assisting me.”
Just last week, Woods’ attorney entered a plea deal might get Tiger off the hook from community service and jail time. Woods will likely accept a reckless driving plea as part of his entry into Palm Beach County’s first-time DUI offender program.“The Program is an important effort to make our community safer by ensuring that drivers prosecuted for first-time DUIs (for both alcohol and drug use) have their underlying substance abuse issues addressed. Defendants accept responsibility for their actions, our streets are safer, and taxpayers benefit from fewer trials and lower costs to our criminal justice system,” state attorney Dave Aronberg said in a statement.
SADNESS: Stuntwoman Joi Harris Dies While Filming ‘Deadpool 2’
Stuntwoman Joi “SJ” Harris was killed in a motorcycle crash on the set of ‘Deadpool 2’ in Vancouver.
In addition to her job as a stuntwoman, Joi was the first African-American female professional road racer. She was completing her first film as a stunt performer when she passed.
via Deadline: Production on the superhero sequel was shut down immediately after the fatality, and there’s no word on when filming will resume. It’s the second on-set death in North America in a month; John Bernecker suffered massive head injuries in a fall July 12 on the set of The Walking Dead and died shortly afterward.
Details still are coming in, but witnesses said the crew was filming a stunt sequence when Harris lost control of her motorcycle and crashed through a plate-glass window at Shaw Tower on West Waterfront Road near Jack Poole Plaza. The stuntwoman was playing the Domino character in the sequence in the Ryan Reynolds superhero sequel. Actress Zazie Beetz is playing Domino in Deadpool 2. Reynolds tweeted a photo of Beetz in character two weeks ago.
A source close to the situation said Harris, who was an experienced road racer, had been rehearsing the stunt all day Saturday. A studio production source said that there were “two full days of rehearsals over the weekend, and on Monday, they ran the stunt five-plus times before filming.”
An eyewitness told Deadline that, on the last take, the bike seemed to accelerate when it was supposed to slow as she took the corner. Harris was not wearing a helmet when the accident occurred today because the Domino character did not wear one in the scene.
Deadline has been told that the crew is enduring very long hours — that includes weekends — and that workers feel like they are being run ragged. “People are exhausted by the schedule,” one crew member told Deadline, noting that they were working multiple 16-hour days in a row. That, however, is disputed by a studio production source, who said the daily shooting schedule on the Vancouver set is 12-13 hours, and there were only two 15-plus-hour days, about three weeks ago.
Reynolds said he was “devastated” by Harris’ death. Producer Simon Kinberg had no comment when contacted by Deadline.
David Leitch, director of Deadpool 2 said in a statement to Deadline: “I’m deeply saddened by the loss of one of our stunt performers today. No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones in this difficult time.” A 20th Century Foxspokesman told Deadline: “We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”
According to her online bio, Harris began motorcycle riding in Brooklyn and in 2013 — after logging more than 1,500 training hours — became the first African American woman licensed to actively compete in American Motorcyclist Association races. An injury from an on-track crash while training for her first race forced Harris to wait until 2014 to begin competing in the American Sportbike Racing Association/Championship Cup Series. Since then she had been an outspoken advocate for female racing.
“I’ve learned to accept that I am not the greatest rider that exists and that there is always something to learn when on track and pushing limits,” she said on her website. “Sometimes I’m going to eat it if I’m impatient. Everything takes time. Face your fears — you never know what you can be missing out on.”
The Vancouver Police Department confirmed the death on social media this morning. Law enforcement in Reynolds’ hometown said they are investigating the incident along with the BC Coroner’s Service and WorkSafeBC, British Columbia’s version of the U.S.’ Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
RIP.
Anna Faris Thanks Fans for Support After Chris Pratt Split
Anna Faris took a moment at the beginning of her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, to address her split from Chris Pratt.
“Hey, dear listeners: I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I’ve been receiving, and I truly love you,” Anna told her listeners before the slipping into the pre-taped episode featuring the My Favorite Murder hosts Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. This was the first episode Anna released since news broke that she was separating from her husband.
Anna and Chris announced their split earlier this month. They were married for eight years and share a son named Jack, who was born in August of 2012
Evelyn Lozada will retain pricey keepsake from Carl Cawford
Despite being a single woman again, Evelyn Lozada is reportedly holding on to a keepsake from her engagement. As previously reported, the “Basketball Wives” star and her baby daddy, Major League Baseball star Carl Crawford, split in February after Lozada allegedly procured evidence that Crawford was cheating on her.
And while Crawford’s team is remaining mum on his breakup with the reality star, new details from #TeamEvelyn are leaking.
According to the folks over at TMZ, Lozada has absolutely no intentions of returning the engagement ring the baseball star gave her in 2013. Instead, the 14.5-carat ring that’s worth a whopping $1.4 million, will be kept in a safe and eventually passed down to Lozada’s children, Carl Leo and Shaniece Hairston.
“Legally, Lozada is obligated to give the ring back — since an engagement ring is considered a conditional gift in California, the condition being she has to get married. But sources close to Lozada tell us … Crawford ain’t getting it back, period.”
Evelyn will be seen on tonight’s “Basketball Wives LA” reunion defending her decision to donate to Jackie Christie’s daughter’s GoFundMe.
Meanwhile, there is a lot of speculation about Lozada’s truthfulness in convincing producers to allow her to return to “BBWLA.” Lozada made her engagement and upcoming nuptials to Crawford part of her enticing storyline. But since the couple broke up in February, Lozada should not have included that in her negotiations with producers.
Born in New York City, Lozada, 41, is of Puerto Rican ancestry. She was engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker with whom she had a 10-year relationship with from 1998 until 2008. On Nov. 16, 2010, Chad Johnson proposed to Lozada; they had been dating since earlier in the year. On July 4, 2012, she married Johnson in Saint Martin. In August of 2012, Johnson was arrested on a charge of domestic battery according to the Davie, Florida, police. On Aug. 14, 2012, Lozada filed for divorce claiming that her marriage was “irretrievably broken” and the divorce was finalized on Sept. 19, 2012. On Sept. 21, 2012, Johnson entered a plea of no contest to misdemeanor domestic battery, avoiding jail time in an agreement with prosecutors and Lozada. Johnson received a year of probation.
Charlottesville Terrorist Once Accused Of Beating Mother
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — The driver charged with killing a woman at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville was previously accused of beating his mother and threatening her with a knife, according to police records released Monday.
Samantha Bloom, who is disabled and uses a wheelchair, repeatedly called police about her son, James Alex Fields Jr., in 2010 and 2011, telling officers he was on medication to control his temper, transcripts from 911 calls show.
Fields, 20, is accused of ramming his car into a crowd of counter-protesters on Saturday in Charlottesville, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer.
Fields, described by a former high school teacher as an admirer of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, was charged with second-degree murder.
A judge denied him bail Monday after the public defender’s office said it couldn’t represent him because a relative of someone in the office was injured in Saturday’s protest.
Fields was assigned a local attorney, and another hearing was set for Aug. 25.
Records show that Fields was arrested and put in juvenile detention after his mother reported in 2011 that he stood behind her wielding a 12-inch knife.
In another incident in 2010, she said her son smacked her in the head and locked her in the bathroom after she told him to stop playing video games. There was no indication in the records that he was arrested.
Also Monday, a former classmate told The Associated Press that on a school trip to Europe in 2015, a teenage Fields couldn’t stand the French and said he only went on the trip so that he could visit “the Fatherland” — Germany.
“He just really laid on about the French being lower than us and inferior to us,” said Keegan McGrath.
McGrath, now 18, said he challenged Fields on his beliefs, and the animosity between them grew so heated that it came to a boil at dinner on their second day. He said he went home after three or four days because he couldn’t handle being in a room with Fields.
The incident shocked McGrath because he had been in German class with Fields for two unremarkable years.
“He was just a normal dude” most of the time, though he occasionally made “dark” jokes that put his class on edge, including one “offhand joke” about the Holocaust, McGrath said.
McGrath said Fields was no outcast: “He had friends. He had people who would chat with him.”
Meanwhile, under pressure to speak out more forcefully, President Donald Trump condemned Ku Klux Klan members, neo-Nazis and white supremacists who take part in violence as “criminals and thugs” and declared that “racism is evil.”
Trump’s initial failure on Saturday to denounce the groups by name, and his blaming of the violence on “many sides,” prompted criticism from fellow Republicans as well as Democrats.
A teacher who taught Fields in high school said Sunday that Fields was fascinated with Nazism, idolized Hitler, and had been singled out in the ninth grade by officials at Randall K. Cooper High School in Union, Kentucky, for his “deeply held, radical” convictions on race.
Fields also confided that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was younger and had been prescribed an anti-psychotic medication, according to the teacher, Derek Weimer.
Fields later enlisted in the Army and reported for basic training in 2015 but was released from active duty four months later because of what military described only as “a failure to meet training standards.”
The violence in Charlottesville also was blamed for the deaths of two Virginia State Police officers in a helicopter crash.
Fields had been photographed hours before the attack with a shield bearing the emblem of Vanguard America, one of the hate groups that took part in the protest against the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. The group on Sunday denied any association with Fields.
