#RHoA: Phaedra Parks Dishes on Making Apollo Nida A Part Of Christmas for Her Kids This Year
Well y’all It’s the holiday season and Phaedra Parks’ sons Ayden (5) and Dylan (2) are at the perfect age to enjoy all of the festivities. This year will be different for the boys; their father is currently in a New Jersey federal prison serving his 8-year sentence for bank and wire fraud. Phaedra sat down with ETonline this week to dish on how her family plans to spend the holidays, and even gets candid on how they are including Apollo.

“Of course, it”s lots of holiday parties,” Phaedra shared. “Ayden’s in the Nativity scene for his school play, so we’re rehearsing for his two lines, and he’s all excited about being the Wise Man, which, you know, he doesn’t really say much, but I’m sure he’s going to improvise, because he loves to talk. The wise, talkative man,” Phaedra finished. Ayden is too cute, I love that we get to watch him grow up on camera. I give that little boy a lot of credit; he clearly knows something is different in his family, his dad isn’t home anymore. It would be typical for Ayden to start acting out and misbehaving, given the change in his home life, yet we haven’t seen any of that behavior on RHOA this season.

Phaedra continued on their holiday plans, “But, we’ll have a huge family dinner, we’ll have game night, where I invite all my friends over, and I’m thinking about doing a big play date for all the kids at the school to come by the house, as well.” Phaedra is like super-mom, I love how well she’s keeping it together for her kids!

Then, she opened up on how to keep Apollo in the boys’ lives, even when he can’t be with them. “Well, it’s sort of hard,” Phaedra confesses. “Now we can do video chatting, so he is getting to see the children on video, so that’s pretty good. We talk about the Christmas lists — I’m not very big on a lot of toys, because I think Christmas isn’t really about receiving, it’s about giving. I don’t want to raise spoiled brats, so I’m always wanting them to learn the true meaning of Christmas: Christ.” She finished with, “That’s always hard at this age. So we’re talking about, you know, how many toys are appropriate and what’s too much.”

I had no idea you could video chat from prison; I wonder if Teresa got to do that with the girls. I’m glad the boys can “see” their dad, and talk to him about the upcoming holidays. Phaedra and Apollo’s kids are very young, and it’s a shame they have to be punished for their dad’s actions. Phaedra’s focus doesn’t seem to be on Apollo, and I don’t know how she holds it together. I’m curious if Phaedra has private break downs, or if she is really able to just put this Apollo situation in the back of her mind and go about her business. Either way, I’m totally impressed by her. Wishing Phaedra and the boys a VERY happy holidays!

What did you think of Phaedra’s interview? Are you surprised the boys are able to video chat with Apollo? Do you think Phaedra should bring Ayden and Dylan to see their dad for Christmas?

Uh Oh? Nicki Minaj Under Fire for Angola Performance
The Human Rights Foundation pens an open letter to Nicki Minaj asking her to reconsider performing at the Unitel Boas Festas in Angola....

Human Rights Foundation head Thor Halvorssen writes in part,
Dear Ms. Minaj,
According to reliable information provided by Human Rights Foundation (HRF) contacts in Angola, you will travel to Luanda to perform at a “Christmas Festival” taking place on December 19, 2015.
As you might know, Unitel, a mobile telephone company controlled by Isabel dos Santos (daughter of Angolan dictator José Eduardo dos Santos) is financing your performance.
I am writing to urgently inform you of the human rights crisis in Angola; to explain the role that dictator dos Santos has played in violating the rights of millions of Angolans; and to request that, in view of your status as a global personality, you cancel your performance. Ms. Minaj, the payment you are receiving from your Angolan sponsors is the result of government corruption and human rights violations.
During their brutal three-decade authoritarian rule, the dos Santos family has exploited Angola’s diamond and oil wealth to amass an illegitimate fortune while maintaining control over all branches of the government, the military, and civil society. Dos Santos has made it his policy to harass, imprison, or kill politicians, journalists, and activists who protest his rule.

Nicki Minaj has not responded.

Serena Williams Serves EVERYTHING as she accepts SI’s Sportsperson of the Year Award
21-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams stepped out looking fierce at Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year Ceremony held at Pier 60 in NYC.

Chick turned the heat all the way up exposing her flawless skin and perfectly toned legs in a custom created ensemble. The 34-year-old athlete collaborated with designer Aaron Gray and her own Serena Williams Signature Collection for her super sexy gown. The lace detailing, the train...we're loving it all. The textured bob brought the whole look together fabulously.
Here's a peek at the back:
Hot. 'Rena’s sister Venus Williams came out to support her sister rocking a dress from Serena’s Signature Collection. How sweet. Venus was tapped to introduce her sister before she accepted the Sportsperson of the Year Award.
Like most proud family members, Serena’s mom and sisters were there to show their support. Mama Oracene Price snapped it up on the carpet with her two tennis champion daughters and their sisters Lyndrea Price and Isha Price.
The No. 1 women’s tennis champ then walked up to the podium to accept her award and to give her acceptance speech. Below are a few quotes from her speech:

"I've had people look down on me because I don't look like them. I look stronger."
"For all the ladies out there, yes we can do it … My hope [that] by winning this award [I] can inspire many many many more women."
"I said I wanted to win Wimbledon because Venus said she wanted to win Wimbledon and my dad yelled at me, he's like 'Serena stop copying Venus'…so then I said I wanted to win the US Open…and so that's how that kind of came about".
"I still have goals and I still have dreams of winning and this award makes me actually want to work harder to reach more goals."
"I've had my shares of ups and downs I've had many struggles…I've lived through tragedies and controversies and horses.”

Nice!

Gilbert Arenas Says The WNBA Has Too Many Ugly Lesbians and The WNBA RESPONDS!
Gilbert Arenas isn’t getting what he expected from WNBA players. Arenas wants to watch half-naked “cutie pies” play professional basketball, but all he sees is lesbian “ bean pies.”
Yes, those are his actual words.
Arenas vented about it on Instagram yesterday (Dec. 15) with a video of two women in thongs  to give us an example of what “America was hoping for” when the WNBA started. ” Not a bunch of chicks running around looking like, cast members from #orangeisthenewblack,” Arenas writes. “Don’t get me wrong, they have few #cutiepies but theres a whole alotta #beanpies running around hahahahahaha if #skylardigginscame out like this,I dont care if she missed every layup..imma buy season tickets and I don’t even know where the fuck #tulsa is hahahaha.”
By the way if Arenas sounds sexist and/or disgusting, it’s because you’re ugly too: “If you think it’s sexist…9 times out of 10 u the ugly one and we didn’t pay to come see u play anyway #donkeykong,” he adds.

LOOK AT THE FOOLYWANG BELOW.
Well The league stuck up for its players and released a statement condemning the comments.
“WNBA players are strong, talented and determined individuals who give it their all on the court and serve as inspiring role models to millions around the world. They should be celebrated for their accomplishments, not disparaged with ignorant insults.”
And now he has to answer to some of the players as well.
HA! He definitely earned it.

Mistrial Declared in Trial of First Officer Charged in Freddie Gray Death; Protesters Outside Courthouse
A mistrial has been declared in the trial of William Porter, one of six police officers charged in the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray.
The jury is hung on all charges, according to local reports. Prosecutors have the right to bring the case to trial again, with another jury.
Porter was charged with manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office in the April 19 death of Gray, who died a week after his neck was broken during a ride in the back of a police van.
Prosecutors claimed Porter was criminally negligent for ignoring a policy requiring officers to strap prisoners in with a seat belt, and for not calling an ambulance immediately after Gray indicated he needed medical aid.
The defense said the prosecution’s case was based on speculation and called Gray’s death a “horrific tragedy.”
“There is literally no evidence” that Porter’s actions in any way caused it, the defense argued.
Tuesday afternoon, the jury informed Judge Barry Williams that they were deadlocked. The judge told the jury it was their responsibility to reach a verdict, and asked them to continue deliberating. The jury resumed work and left for the day without a verdict.
Porter is in the first of six police officers charged in Gray’s death.

Protester outside of Baltimore courthouse after the William Porter trial resulted in a hung jury
Earlier this week, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake called for people to respect the jury’s decision. She also announced the opening of an emergency operations center as a precaution so that authorities can coordinate any necessary response.
At the White House, a reporter asked spokesman Josh Earnest at a Monday briefing whether there was a message from the White House to people in Baltimore. Earnest said President Barack Obama’s comments after Chicago police recently released video of the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald were relevant. Earnest says the president was proud of how the community responded with a “forceful but peaceful display of concern.”
Earnest says the administration is “hopeful that as activists and individuals in other communities have similar concerns to express, that they do so peacefully.”
