Is K.Michelle Announcing a Home Furnishing Line really NOT HERS?
What should be an exciting time for K.Michelle (real name Kimberly Michelle Pate) has turned into a bit of a controversy. The soulful singer — who most of us were introduced on the Love & Hip Hop franchise, coupled with her own spin-off — has announced her latest business venture, a home goods line.
She announced on Instagram:
Can’t believe this is really happening. So excited about my new home good line. It has everything from my custom designed furniture, my doggie beds, candles, bed and bath accessories. Coming to a retailer near you. Thank you so much @nicologyrules bringing my vision and passion to life. Details coming soon???? Custom orders will be available! Pick your own colors
So what’s the issue? An Atlanta area furniture company called Huff Furniture in Buckhead claims that K.Michelle’s furniture isn’t exactly authentic. One of the company’s owners wrote the following on Instagram:
They say imitation is the best form of flattery. We say it’s simply poor form especially when it’s done using images from within our showroom.

This is business and business etiquette 101. Clients and friends, do business with whomever you choose. Just know, when you put your 50% deposit of hard earned money into another persons hands, you want to make dang sure that person knows business. After 59 years sitting on Peachtree, trust and believe this is not the first time and won’t be the last that people try to come for us. That’s okay and that’s the American way. Many of our followers know I’m a female and I continually support female entrepreneurship. The difference is professionalism and ethics. I wish@KMichellemusic all the best. K.Michelle caught wind of the furniture store’s response, and wrote another post with the caption:

Anywho, no details have yet been released on the official date for K.Michelle’s launch.
