Weekend Box Office: 'Think Like A Man Too' is v#1 at the Box Office with 30,000,000$
The box office continues to bow down to Kevin Hart. The comedian, already the cock of the walk with his Ride Along victory just five months ago, has another hit on his hands with Think Like a Man Too. The sequel to Steve Harvey’s best-selling relationship opus cruised to the #1 spot $30 million. The Tim Story-directed laffer, which also stars Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, and Meagan Good, follows the gang to Las Vegas for a wedding weekend. Think Like A Man Too played in 2,225 theaters and brought in opening weekend numbers comparable to the original’s $33.6 million bow in 2012.

Carmelo Anthony to opt out of New York Knicks contract
Carmelo Anthony will terminate the final year of his contract with the New York Knicks and become a free agent on July 1, a person familiar with the All-Star forward's decision told USA TODAY Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the situation.
Anthony, who was scheduled to make $23.3 million next season, will have suitors lined up for his services — potentially the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat along with, of course, the Knicks.
Teams can began talking to free agents on July 1 and agree to terms but a deal cannot be officially signed until July 10.

The Knicks can offer Anthony the longest contract and most money — five years, $130 million from New York compared to four years and about $96 million from others.
This is one of the biggest decisions in Anthony's career. Anthony, 30, gets the chance to pick the team he thinks has the best chance of winning a championship. This also likely is the last super lucrative contract he signs.
While the Knicks were hoping Anthony did not exercise his early termination option, it's not a surprise the seven-time All-Star wanted to explore free agency. He has never been a free agent since the Denver Nuggets drafted him No. 3 in the 2003 draft. He signed a rookie extension with the Nuggets in 2006 and another three-year extension when the Nuggets traded him to the Knicks in 2011.
Even though in 2011 Anthony wanted to return closer to his New York and Baltimore roots, the Knicks have not advanced past the Eastern Conference semifinals in his three-plus seasons in New York. The Knicks failed to make the playoffs this season/

Knicks owner James Dolan hired coaching legend Phil Jackson as team president to bring a championship to New York. Jackson. Jackson, who played for the last Knicks championship team in 1972-73, fired Mike Woodson as coach and recently hired Derek Fisher as the replacement.

Portugal rescues 2-2 draw vs. US at World Cup

MANAUS, Brazil-- Varela headed in an equalizer in injury time to salvage a 2-2 draw for Portugal against the United States at the World Cup on Sunday and deny the Americans a spot in the second round.
Cristiano Ronaldo swung in a cross from the right and Varela thumped a header into the net to keep Portugal alive in the tournament.
Clint Dempsey had given the U.S. the lead when he used his stomach to direct the ball into the net from a cross by Graham Zusi in the 81st minute.
Jermaine Jones had equalized for the Americans earlier in the second half, after Nani gave Portugal an early lead.
A win would have put the U.S. into the second round, but it can still advance with at least a draw against Germany in the next game.

Meagan Good Covers Rolling Out; Talks Sex Appeal, Feeling Judged & More
Meagan Good rocks a sultry new shoot for Rolling Out magazine. Posing in a burnt orange gown, along with her layered blonde bob, the Think Like a Man Too actress heats up the mag’s latest issue.

Inside she talks reuniting with the TLAM Too ensemble cast, criticism that is often aimed at black actresses, why she hasn’t appeared nude on-camera, and more.

Catch a few highlights below..
On the highly anticipated Think Like a Man Too, reuniting her with an ensemble cast that includes Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Regina Hall and Romany Malco:
It was different [this time] because this was the first time the girls got to be together,” Good shares. “The majority of the time I was working with the girls and the guys were with the guys. So [there was] a lot of being silly and girl talk and just having a good time.

Always open to telling a strong story, Meagan admits her frustration with the criticism that is often aimed at black actresses who play characters that aren’t Clair Huxtable-esque or pristine:

If Angelina Jolie goes topless, everyone goes ‘Wow, she’s so badass, so committed to her craft,’ ” Good says. “But if Halle Berry goes topless, everyone’s like ‘She’s a slut. She probably took a bunch of money to do that.’ People attack her with unsavory names. And it’s unfortunate. Halle is one my favorite actresses — I’ve looked up to her since I began this journey. There’s definitely a double standard but I can’t put my finger on exactly why that is. If someone is telling a story, they should go to whatever extent that they’re comfortable with to tell the story. Whatever they feel is necessary.
While Meagan is in full support of actresses pushing their limits and pushing the envelope for the sake of storytelling, she admits that she has not appeared nude on-camera herself because it can often feel exploitative:

I have no problem with nudity — it just has to not be exploitative and it has to be important to tell the story. It depends on the script, the character, the story, the tone of the movie — all of those things. I commend women of every nationality that are bold enough to tell a story in a way that’s fearless. I just haven’t found a project where I felt it was necessary to do that. The scenes I’ve come across seemed exploitative and I just didn’t do it.

Meagan married her husband Devon Franklin in 2012, and the fiercely independent young woman has found a peace of mind with her husband that she didn’t believe was possible before:

Marriage has taught me that it’s OK to let somebody take care of me. That it’s OK to depend on somebody,” Good says. “I grew up being responsible for a lot of things — since I was 15 [I was] taking care of a lot of people. My father is amazing, but he wasn’t in the home, so my mother raised us with the mentality of not needing anybody. We were never the girls that went after the guy that had the money because we were taught to have our own money. I’ve always been extremely independent to the point where it probably intimidated some guys. Now, it’s nice to just feel like it’s not a bad thing to trust someone to have your best interest at heart.
She also added that her husband’s acceptance of her allowed her to grow in areas where she struggled in the past, due to feeling unaccepted. “He sees all the positive things in me that I felt like a lot of other people didn’t see,” she said. “I always felt very judged.”

Alicia Keys Stars in Givenchy’s Dahlia Divin Fragrance Campaign
Given her massive success in the music industry, Alicia Keys is no stranger to high profile projects.
However, the “Girl on Fire” songstress is still a newbie in the fashion fragrance realm, not that it shows in her new Givenchy Dahlia Divin perfume spread.

Alicia told WWD that she scored the gig through a friendship with Riccardo Tisci- “Spiritually we’re a lot alike. The fashion world can make you a little soulless. So when I met him, it was nice to see that he’s really soulful. He did this awesome thing with me on the 10th anniversary of my first album. We did four intimate shows with just me on the piano, and he designed the look for them. It was heavy metal — everything of his is just really heavy, but it was super cool.”

“As time passed, [this fragrance campaign] came to fruition. I love what Givenchy is about. Givenchy is this timeless, chic, but very strong woman, but with an edgier, almost street feel. I love that she’s raw, but she’s powerful — and that’s who I believe I am, too.”

And someday Keys hopes to find herself in the director’s chair. “Oh my God, I love directing! I did this short for Lifetime along with Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and three other incredible female directors. It was about how breast cancer affects the family, from five different perspectives. And I directed that, and I fell in love with it, because I related to all the different sides — the actor, the writer and their vision for it, the studio, because they have their thoughts on it, and being able to relate to every single part of it and make it smooth and interesting and bring out the idea as beautifully as possible.”

Ann Nesby Discusses Role with the American Heart Assoc. & New CD
Her new purpose will help save lives - Her new album, 'Living My Life, will warm the heart
Now that working class citizens have access to affordable health care, the time has come for African Americans to check, change and control the quality of their lives. This initiative is being carried out by the American Heart Association and its new Metro Atlanta spokesperson Ann Nesby.

The Grammy-award winning singer, and congestive heart failure survivor, was granted a second chance to live. She’s using this opportunity to spread awareness about heart disease in women of color.
In a one-on-one interview with EURweb’s Lee Bailey, Nesby opened up about the new direction of her career and shared her experiences with helping others gain control of their health.
“In 2004, my life changed,” she expressed with unabashed candor. “Ever since the diagnosis, I’ve been making sure to check my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. I’ve have control over my life now: I make regular doctor’s visits and I’m encouraging everyone around me that I love to do the same. I’m excited it about it.”

She added, “I’m always speaking on behalf of The American Heart Association. I’ve been given a platform to change people’s lives. It’s something that affects me and I’m able to share my wisdom along with sharing the gift of music.”
Most experts will suggest eating the foods you love in moderation, rather than giving them up cold turkey. Nesby embraces this concept; she also understands the value of consistency in relation to proper health.

“You can still smell the food and see the food,” she said laughing. “That doesn’t change so you have to change.  It’s easy to fall back onto old habits, especially when you career is travel-based. But you can’t allow circumstance to dictate your actions. You must exercise self-control—the reward is worth sacrificing for.”
“You have to think from an unselfish point of view,” Nesby further explained. “Your life is not your own and there are people who love you if you don’t love yourself who will help you be responsible. If you enjoy your family, your children and your mate, you have to make those adjustments for them if not for yourself.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 67 million Georgians have high blood pressure and many more may be at risk. To combat this issue and reduce a major risk factor for stroke and heart disease, the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association/American Stroke Association launched the Check. Change. Control. program to help residents identify, lower and maintain healthy blood pressure levels.

In May, American Stroke Month and High Blood Pressure Education Month, Nesby was introduced as Atlanta’s spokesperson for the cause through a new PSA. With support from the AHA, along with a renewed sense of purpose, she aims to make a positive impact on the state of health in the black community.
“People are more receptive than we can imagine,” Nesby said in a matter-of-fact tone. “Sometime it takes a spark of someone else mentioning a problem in a relaxed setting to make another person think and reflect on it. Sometimes just a word of encouragement will help you through tough times.”

She continued, “When we get in situations sometimes we feel like were going through it alone. When we can hear other people talk about things openly, even if we’re private people with our lifestyles, we become more receptive to advice about how we can get help or do things a bit differently. We’ve overlooked heart disease in women for too long. It’s time to have a conversation about it.”

In early June, Nesby released a new album “Living My Life,” inspired by her battle with heart failure and the road she took that lead to her inspiring recovery.
“I already love to do feel good music,” she said fondly. “I was always of the mind that whatever I sang from my heart would reach the heart of others. This album reflects on relationships, being healthy and not worrying about tomorrow. It also acknowledges that the power of God is able to pull us through any situation and it encourages us to trust him in our daily lives and to rest in him for answers to our problems.”

In addition to her words on the album, Nesby wants to leave this message with women and their loved ones: “Check your heart. Check your blood pressure. Change your lifestyle and get control of it by working with your physician. Prepare yourself for a better life.”

Lifetime To Air “The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story”
I know you remember watching Saved By The Bell on Saturday mornings! How many of you all thought that high school was like Bayside High School? I did but it was totally different! Remember in 2009, Dustin Diamond a.k.a Screech wrote Behind the Bell, a scandalous tell-all that revealed what life was reportedly like on the set of Saved by the Bell, one of NBC’s most loved series that ran from 1989–1993 and turned its cast of innocent actors into superstars. Diamond wrote that everyone in the cast, except him (go figure) and many were dabbling in drugs. Diamond’s memoir tipped off Hollywood to the fact there was a lot more going on behind the scenes.
He even said they were partaking in threesomes… Gross! Now, after hours of brand-new interviews conducted for this film (obtained independently of Diamond and his book), the real story will be brought to life in The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, a new Lifetime television movie that promises to change the way that fans look at the classic kids’ comedy. Oh no… I thought Lisa was pure… Who was your favorite character on Saved By The Bell?

Charlie Wilson Talks Cancer Awareness & Music with Kanye, Pharrell
Charlie Wilson had overcame a lot during his life and career.

He battled drug addiction and homelessness in the 1990s and recently, he fought cancer.
But no matter what life threw at him, he triumphed in his life and career.
Now back on his a-game with many Grammy nominations and close musical relationships with the industry’s best, he dished about his upcoming music and in his personal life, he talked about raising cancer awareness with The Huffington Post.
Wilson mixed his career with his personal life — anchoring the intro of Lupe Fiasco‘s “Mission,” which raises cancer awareness.

“I’ve been battling cancer since 2008, so it was the perfect scenario. And I’m so happy that Lupe is addressing the issue, because the younger generation think they’re untouchable. They don’t think the diseases can get them,” he said. “And so it’s a great thing that he comes out and he’s connected with some people [who are] really dealing with this issue … I’ve been talking about my cancer since 2008.”
He added, “I don’t know if the youngsters were listening to me or not. I know millions and millions of men were listening to me, but now, the 18- to 25-year-olds, I don’t know if they were really listening to me, because they don’t think they can be touched by this disease or any disease for that matter. So for him to speak about it and keep it 100, I believe that’s a good thing.”

But being featured on the song briefly isn’t the only thing Wilson got going on these days. He definitely has a new album coming soon.
It’ll definitely be 2015. So we’re lining up everybody, and about to start recording. I’ve heard a lot of records that I want to record and so we’re just gearing up,” he said.
Wilson commonly collaborates with two of the industry’s heavy-hitters — Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

“I know Kanye got married, and so we had to get through that. And I know Pharrell is touring. So we’re just waiting for everyone to free up and then we’re going to get started with what we gotta do,” he said.
