Venus & Serena Williams COVER "The NY Times Magazine", Serena REFLECTS On Her BIGGEST Career SCANDALS!
Venus Williams and her sister Serena Williams graced the cover of the latest NY Time Magazine where the Gold medal champion sisters flaunt their envious athletic bods.  Inside the mag, their mother talks about how she felt about her daughters' track record of success:

“I reflected on the fact that in the United States, you don’t have many players that are doing well. And then you have these two old, black girls, up in age now, and they’re still holding up America. That to me was remarkable.”
Up in age?  Oh.
Also in the article, Serena opened up about why she continues to boycott the Indian Wells Masters Series Tennis Tournament where she and her sister were taunted with racial slurs in 2001. She said,

“But I don’t need to go back there. They don’t like me. I don’t need to be there. If you can boo a teenager, and you can be white and 60 years old, you know what? I’m cool on you. I can understand maybe if they were 20, 15. But like at the French Open, the crowd boos you, but they’re young, they’re kids, they’re a younger crowd. It is what it is. You just know every time you go to Paris, you get booed, but you see so many kids in the crowd.

At Indian Wells, everybody goes there when they’re retired. It’s like Palm Beach. I thought, People like Martin Luther King Jr. boycotted things. And this is nothing on that level. Look at Muhammad Ali, he didn’t even play, he went to jail because he didn’t want to go to war. The least I can do is stand up for my people and not go there. That’s the very least I can do. It’s not even that hard of a decision. I get a vacation on those two weeks. It’s like the easiest decision of my career. They can penalize me to death, I’m never going back.”
She also talked about her outburst at a lineswoman at the 2009 US Open.
“I was definitely stressed, and I was angry. I don’t foot-fault. Like, I have in the past, but this woman should never make a call in the semifinals of a Grand Slam on a person who doesn’t foot-fault. She was totally wrong. I’m sorry. I’m not sorry. I looked at her like — I tried to warn her. And then she did it again. And I’m thinking, This is ridiculous.”

She added that she was embarassed about how she represented herself at the moment as a Jehovah's Witness.
"What bothered me most was that I was representing my religion. I just felt like anyone who knew I was a Witness was stumbled. And I really don’t want to stumble anybody.  They had to have a talk with me.  And I knew it was coming. I just felt really bad, though, because it’s like, that’s not who I am.”

George Zimmerman’s Mother-In-Law ARRESTED!
The mother-in-law of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who fatally shot teenager Trayvon Martin, was arrested on a DUI.  Machelle Dean, 53, was taken into custody after motorists in New Smyrna Beach, Florida called 911 to report a car swerving across the road and narrowly missing pedestrians.

According to the Orlando Sintenial:
Machelle Dean, whose daughter Shellie Zimmerman is married to George Zimmerman, was arrested Aug. 8 after witnesses called authorities to report a reckless driver on State Road 415 in Osteen.
Dean, of Lake Mary, told deputies she has prescriptions for hydrocodone, Xanax and carisoprodol.
She told deputies she took at least two of the painkillers before driving.
According to a report from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses told deputies Dean was swerving in and out of her lane, almost crashing into oncoming traffic several times.
She also nearly hit a pedestrian and construction cones, the report said.
A witness traveling behind Dean’s Lincoln sedan called 911 and then stopped when the Lincoln pulled off the road.

One witness told deputies they were “certain the driver of the vehicle was going to kill someone or themselves.”
Reportedly once deputies arrived and talked to Dean, her words were slurred, she had watery eyes and was clearly impaired.
Dean also could not successfully pass any field-sobriety tests deputies requested of her.

Tracee Explains Leaving Reed Between the Lines
Last week the rumors that Tracee Ellis Ross would be leaving Reed Between the Lines were confirmed and now Tracee explains why she left...

Tracee tells Essence.com
"It was that BET hadn't decided if they were picking up the show yet or not. During that time when they didn't know, I was offered a really amazing pilot for NBC, and BET graciously allowed me to go and do it."
"Then the timing got complicated and there was a need to move forward. [BET] had to figure out how to deal without me because I wasn't available. But it's not because I wanted to leave."
"I love Reed Between the Lines, I believe in it. There is a chance I'll go back, always. There's nothing weird about it."

“Me and Cube, we’re talking about it — they’re working on a script, if it comes back … I don’t think it will be as special as the first one.“
Chris also wanted to clear up past rumors of reasons as to why he didn’t want to do another “Friday” as per gossiponthis.com

“When they were doing the “Next Fridays” I was already doing “Money Talks” and I always wanted to keep going to the next level so I wouldn’t always be in that box.  So [it was] “Money Talks” with Charlie Sheen and then after that we did the “Rush Hours” and “Fifth Element” and “Dead Presidents” and that’s what happened.”

Chris Brown’s Mom is MESSY!
Last week after Rihanna's interview where she admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she was still in love with Chris Brown, Chris' mom sent a few Tweets imploring 'someone' to tell the whole truth and only then would they truly be set free
Of course it was believed she was talking to Rihanna.
Well, scratch that. Mom Breezy says anything she has to say to RiRi she'll tell her on their daily telephone call.
Mom talking to the ex everyday? Poor Karrueche...

Is the end for Matthew Knowles and Music World?
Back in December Cathy Hughes imposed a Radio One ban on Mathew Knowles and all Music World artists after Mathew pulled a jack move and sold footage from the Essence Music Festival to BET even though Cathy Hughes and TVOne owned exclusive rights to air the music festival
Welp, word around the Internets is the ban has hit Mathew pretty hard and now he's looking to unload Music World...

According to Jawn Murray at Always A List, most of Mathew's gospel artists are following Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Solange and Michelle Williams out the door and Mathew is trying to sell the label.
Jawn also spilled a little tea on how Mathew dogged his artists Trin-I-tee 5:7 at the BET Awards.
Apparently Trin-I-tee, who were nominated for a BET Best Gospel Artist Award, had a hard time getting into the award show because Mathew used their tickets at the last minute without telling them and there was a big scene because they had to beg to get in!

Warren Sapp BLAMES Evelyn Lozada not Chad For The DOMESTIC ABUSE
Former Hurricanes defensive lineman Warren Sapp has voiced his opinion about the Evelyn Lozada/Chad Johnson fight and he's taking Chad's side and blames Ev for the dust up.  Get the deets inside..........

Former footballer and Chad's fellow Miami native Warren Sapp has thrown in his two cents about the Evelen/Chad fight and he's actually insinuating that Evelyn was the aggressor in the fight.  He told the Miami Times in an interview:
When is the last time one of your homeboys called you and told you, "Let me tell you about this fight at the club last night where this guy and his girlfriend were walking by and he turned around and headbutted the girl." Never. He's taking the rap for it. We don't do that. She did it.

That's a woman that is going to depend on her beauty for the rest of her life to open any door she wants to walk through, and she is going to do what to her forehead? I'm done. [Chad] is a bunch of fun and I am sorry this had to happen to him.

Hmmm....  Warren has had his own domestic violece run in (charges were dropped back in 2010) and unsportsmanlike conduct situations while he was in the league.

DANGER LOOMS FOR CAMDEN N.J as the Mayor is getting of The Police Department!
Camden, New Jersey, the deadliest place in America, is disbanding its entire police force and firing 270 cops in an effort to deal with a massive budget crunch.
The Camden Police Department will be replaced with a force run by the county, which supporters say will cost significantly less and allow more officers on the streets.
Some citizens worry, though that the new officers, many of them from the county police force, won't be prepared for the tough, violent work of patrolling a dense urban city.

The police union says the force, which will not be unionized, is simply a union-busting move that is meant to get get out of union contracts.
No matter the political wrangling, the murder rate in Camden, a decaying city of 77,000, continues to skyrocket.
There have been 41 homicides in the city so far this year, including 13 in July alone. That puts Camden well on pace to break its record of 58 killings, set in 1995.
The murder rate in ten times higher than it is in New York City, 30 percent higher than New Orleans, the deadliest large city in the country, and three times higher than nearby Philadelphia.
The architects of the plan say they'll be able to put 400 police officers on the streets of Camden -- a dramatic improvement over the 270 who currently work the city, the Camden Courier Post reports.
Decay: Soaring unemployment and the flight of thousands of city residents has resulted in urban blight spreading across the city
But, it's still less than the nearly 440 officers who were on the force just two years ago.
Last year, Camden was forced to cut 168 officers, one third of its ranks, as a result of the budget crisis. It faced the prospect of cutting even more this year.

Camden was once a thriving industrial city, but plant closures over the years have led residents and small business to flee.
Now, nearly one in five residents is out of unemployed -- the highest rate in New Jersey.
The city has fallen into a cycle of decay -- with blighted neighborhoods becoming battlegrounds over drug turf.

The beleaguered police department struggled to keep up. Officers stopped responding to minor car crashes, petty thefts and other minor complaints so they could focus on the plethora of shootings.

Miami Heat star Chris Bosh's child support battle with his baby mama didn't go so well in court the other day...

Gossip Extra, who was in court for the latest residency hearing, reports Alison's lawyer made mince meat of Chris by pulling out the mortgage agreement he signed in 2010 stating that the home he bought in Florida would be his primary residence.
