Cynthia Bailey is clearing the air on some of the biggest Real Housewives of Atlanta controversies—and she's not buying the idea that anyone is secretly plotting against K. Michelle.
During an appearance on Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea, Bailey addressed the season's most talked-about feuds, defended several of her castmates, reflected on fractured Bravo friendships, and even revealed which OG she'd bring back to Atlanta. "I do not feel like people are actually plotting against K," Bailey said. "When you say 'plot' and 'scheme,' those words are very intentional and strong."
While acknowledging that K. Michelle is reacting to something, Bailey added, "From what I know from the ladies that I've been around, I know nothing of a plot and a scheme."
Bailey also shut down speculation that Porsha Williams intentionally shaded K. Michelle with her now-viral oyster comment. "It was just a coincidence," she said, explaining that she was the only cast member who actually ordered oysters that night.
Bailey also came to Drew Sidora's defense after her national anthem performance became a punchline on the show. "I didn't like that," Bailey said. "Drew is an amazing singer... they could have gave her that."

Before the diamond’s best take the field for the Midsummer Classic, Jennifer Hudson is set to perform “America the Beautiful” while Patti LaBelle will sing the national anthem.
The Godmother of Soul will be accompanied by the Military District of Washington Joint Chorus and West Point Band for “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Boyz II Men will hit the field to perform at the conclusion of the fifth inning for the Stand Up to Cancer tribute, which will invite fans to hold up their placards in honor of those lost, currently fighting or impacted by cancer.
Philly native Miles Teller will also be part of the pre-game pageantry, which will find the actor narrating a segment about baseball being embedded in the DNA of American society for more than a century.

JAŸ-Z’s freestyle at the Roots Picnic in May rubbed many of his rivals the wrong way as he took shots and subliminals at quite a few of his Hip-Hop peers and former associates, but one man didn’t necessarily take issue with JAŸ-Z bringing his name up again, he just wishes Jay would break him off a little something-something for making him relive his trauma.
In a recent interview on The Art of Dialogue, Lance “Un” Rivera was asked about JAŸ-Z once again referencing the infamous stabbing of 1999, which left Rivera with a few puncture wounds. Hova spat, “Y’all tryin’ to get under skin? I really get under skin / Ask “Un” how I’m playin’,” while making a stabbing gesture.
Responding to the question, Rivera revealed that he was planning on releasing a public letter to JAŸ-Z and took the time to read out loud what he wrote to arguably the greatest rapper of all time. Starting it off with “Dear Jay-Z” (so cordial), Lance’s letter praised the Brooklyn mogul for being the rags-to-riches story that most people only dream of becoming, while inspiring a generation of Hip-Hoppers behind him, saying, “You became a symbol of what can happen when talent meets opportunity and when ambition refuses to surrender to the systems designed to contain it.”
Further praising Jigga for his decades-long road to success and what his story means to millions of people in the struggle, Lance touched on the topic of becoming a punching bag for Jay’s bars and summed it up as nothing more than a marketing tool, saying, “I think what people need to understand is that most of Jay-Z’s intentions are purely based on marketing rollouts. I was part of the rollout for the products that’s going out right now in the streets. So, I fell victim to that.”
Still, it does sting Rivera that he continues to be “the butt of the joke,” adding, “He talks about trauma, but what about my trauma? What about the people who lived it trauma?” Saying he understands that Jay is using their incident as a way to sell an image of being “dangerous,” Rivera said he’d have less of an issue with it if Jay slid some paper his way, saying, “Pay me. Send me a check. I’ll be a part of your marketing strategy.”

Tyler Perry Injured Before Shooting ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’
Tyler Perry keeps the camera rolling even when he’s injured. While filming Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, Perry said he broke his collarbone while bike riding. The injury took place“two weeks before we started to film.”
“I was talking to everyone, directing and getting the cast to dance,” Perry told PEOPLE. “But my shoulder was in a lot of pain, and I kept telling them to watch my shoulder.”
“Their group chat ended up being titled ‘watch my shoulder,” he continued.
The third installment of the franchise stars Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Michael Jai White, Tasha Smith, and Sharon Leal. Also, Taraji P. Henson makes her debut in the franchise. She “will tell you their favorite experience is me walking around saying ‘watch my shoulder’ in every scene,” Perry explained.
Why Did I Get Married Again?, also stars Lamman Rucker, Armani Greer, Everett Osborne, Da’Vinchi, Laya Deleon Hayes, Jaden Michael, Charles L. Smith II, Derrick A. King, and Sydney Winbush.

“He truly believed business could be a force for good,” the family statement said. “Creating opportunity, strengthening communities, opening doors for others, and demonstrating that success carries with it a responsibility to serve.”
George Ellis Johnson was born on June 16, 1927, in Richton, Miss. At two years old, he moved to Chicago with his mother, Priscilla.
Dropping out of high school in the 11th grade, he became a door-to-door cosmetics salesman. After securing a bank loan of just $250, Johnson launched his own cosmetics business. He secured the loan by telling the loan officer he needed the money for a vacation for his wife.
“I knew this request wouldn’t rattle the loan officer’s belief that he was superior to me. Nor would it challenge his stereotypes of Black men as subservient or unintelligent,” Johnson wrote.
In 1954, he co-founded Johnson Products Company with his first wife, Joan Johnson. The company took up almost 80% of the Black hair care market by 1960. In 1971, the company was the first Black-owned company listed on the American Stock Exchange, now known as NYSE American.
Johnson Products was also the exclusive sponsor of“Soul Train.” Based in Chicago, Johnson’s sponsorship helped the show become a national show running for more than three decades.
Following the couple’s 1989 divorce, Joan gained control of the company. She ultimately sold Johnson Products to the Ivax Corporation in 1993 for a payout of around $32 million (roughly $75 million today). The Johnsons remarried in 1995. Joan passed away in 2019.

Former Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has been arrested in Alabama on multiple dr*g-related charges.
According to jail records first reported by TMZ, the former Tallahassee mayor was taken into custody Thursday night in Daphne, Alabama. He was booked into the Baldwin County Jail on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dr*g paraphernalia and possession of m@rijuan@. Authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to Gillum’s arrest.
The arrest marks Gillum’s latest legal setback. In 2020, he made headlines after being found in a Miami Beach hotel room where police recovered suspected m3thamphet@mine. Gillum was not charged in that incident, and prosecutors later declined to file charges, citing insufficient evidence linking him to the dr+gs. At the time, Gillum acknowledged he had been drinking but denied using m3thamphet@mine before later entering rehab for alcohol abuse and depression.

Hours after a park ranger found a body on Horn Island while searching for missing college student Nolan Xavier Wells, the 18-year-old’s mother confirmed his death on Monday afternoon.
“His father, our family, friends and I are absolutely devastated,” Christine Wonsley wrote in a Facebook post. “My heart is broken for my sweet son who was always willing to cheer and uplift others. Nolan was a special soul, God took his time creating our son.”
The Jackson County sheriff and coroner both confirmed that the body matches the description of Wells, who went missing Saturday, July 4, while visiting Horn Island with a group of friends. The cause of death is unknown.
Authorities are awaiting the results of DNA testing, but Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd said that “there is no reason to believe it is not him,” WLOX reported.
Wells would have turned 19 next month, when he was also set to return to Southwest Mississippi Community College to practice for the football season. Wells was a wide receiver for the SMCC Bears.
“The entire Southwest family is heartbroken as we mourn the tragic loss of Nolan Wells,” the school’s president, J. Steven Bishop, wrote in a statement. “Nolan was an exemplary student, athlete, friend, and teammate. We remember Nolan as a well-respected young man who was very popular among friends, faculty, and staff. We loved Nolan, and he will be greatly missed in many ways.”

The legendary producer claimed Sony underpaid and withheld earnings tied to some of the biggest releases from So So Def Recordings, including projects involving Mariah Carey, Usher, Bow Wow, Kris Kross, Xscape, Da Brat, and Jagged Edge.
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, alleged that the royalty discrepancies stretched back decades. Dupri and his companies sought at least $18 million in damages, plus interest and additional relief, arguing that years of inaccurate accounting left So So Def shortchanged despite generating hundreds of millions in revenue.

The filing alleged that Sony failed to pay all royalties owed on albums by Kris Kross, Xscape, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, and other artists. It also claimed royalty payments connected to projects Dupri produced for Mariah Carey and Usher had been underpaid, although the full amount allegedly remained under review.
The complaint painted a grim picture of the longtime business relationship.
"As it turns out, many of SME's dealings with So So Def have not been lawful and have harmed So So Def in its business," the lawsuit stated, according to AllHipHop.
The filing devoted particular attention to Kris Kross. According to AllHipHop, Dupri alleged Sony failed to report producer and override royalties tied to Totally Krossed Out and Da Bomb for years, claiming more than $2.2 million remained unpaid from those albums alone.
The lawsuit further alleged that Sony maintained a separate accounting system that concealed those earnings.
"SME attempted to conceal all Kris Kross royalties due Plaintiffs for over 20 years in a separate royalty accounting system unknown to Plaintiffs," the complaint stated, according to AllHipHop.
Dupri also challenged Sony's accounting for Xscape, Da Brat, and Jagged Edge. The lawsuit claimed Xscape's platinum-selling albums continued carrying an unexplained negative balance years later, while amended statements for Jagged Edge allegedly failed to account for earlier royalty periods.
According to the complaint, So So Def's production work generated more than $200 million in gross revenue over three decades. Late Dallas Cowboys Star Marshawn Kneeland Diagnosed With Stage 1 CTE After Death
Nearly eight months after Marshawn Kneeland died at age 24, doctors have uncovered another piece of his story. Researchers at the Boston University CTE Center announced on Tuesday, July 7, that the former Dallas Cowboys pass rusher had Stage 1 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head impacts.
CTE cannot be diagnosed while a person is alive. Physicians can evaluate symptoms and rule out other neurological conditions, but confirmation requires a post-mortem examination of brain tissue under a microscope. According to the Cleveland Clinic, early-stage CTE can be associated with symptoms including depression, headaches, mild aggression, short-term memory problems, and changes in behavior.
For Kneeland's longtime girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, the findings brought a measure of clarity, even if they couldn't change the outcome. "While this diagnosis does not change the tragedy of his passing, it provides important context about some of the struggles he may have been facing," she said in a statement after the results were released.
Still, the foundation urged caution around that context, noting that suicide is complex and the diagnosis should not be treated as the cause of Kneeland’s death.
The findings prompted a broader warning from experts studying the disease. Dr. Ann McKee, director of the Boston University CTE Center, told TMZ she was "not surprised" by the findings, noting that researchers have identified CTE in nearly half of the athletes under 30 whose brains have been examined.
Chris Nowinski, CEO of the Concussion & CTE Foundation, pointed to Kneeland's case as evidence that advances in equipment and league policies have not eliminated the risk. "Mr. Kneeland played in the modern era of concussion protocols and better helmets, and yet he still developed CTE," Nowinski said to TMZ, adding, "Concussion protocols do not prevent CTE, because CTE is caused by repeated head impacts, not just concussions."
Kneeland's death in November 2025 stunned the NFL. Authorities said he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a police pursuit in North Texas. Dispatch audio later revealed that Mancera had contacted authorities out of concern for his mental health, warning that he was armed and feared he might take his own life
Family members had also alerted police after receiving a goodbye text message. The tragedy unfolded just two days after Kneeland scored the first touchdown of his NFL career.
During that same period, Mancera publicly shared another life-changing update, revealing she was pregnant with the couple's child. The couple’s son, Makhai, was born on June 11, 2026.

Tracee Ellis Ross is about to inherit one of Broadway's hottest roles. The Emmy-nominated actress begins her run in Every Brilliant Thing on July 7, taking over from Mariska Hargitay after the Law & Order: SVU star closed out a buzzy six-week engagement with a finale that fans won't soon forget. Ross will lead the acclaimed one-person play at New York City's Hudson Theatre through Aug. 9, marking her long-awaited Broadway debut.
According to USA Today, Hargitay's final performance on July 5 ended with a moment straight out of a rom-com. Her husband of nearly 22 years, actor Peter Hermann, joined the interactive production as an audience participant before dropping to one knee. After Hargitay playfully urged him on, Hermann finally asked, "Will you marry me?" Hargitay immediately said yes, and the pair sealed the moment with a kiss and a hug as the audience erupted.
Hermann had walked onstage carrying a massive bouquet, while Hoda Kotb and Katie Couric were among those watching the surprise unfold.

Dolly Parton’s Broadway Musical Will Celebrate Opening Night on Her 81st Birthday
A musical about Dolly Parton‘s life is coming to Broadway at the end of the year and the official opening night celebration will take place on the singer’s 81st birthday.
The Grammy winner just announced that Dolly: A True Original Musical will play the St. James Theatre on Broadway.
Preview performances will begin on Monday, December 7 ahead of the official opening night celebration on Tuesday, January 19, 2027, which happens to be Dolly‘s birthday.
Dolly said in a statement, “My whole life has been a musical. A grand ole opera really and I can’t wait to present it to you on Broadway. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I’ve enjoyed livin’ it.”
The musical tells the story of Dolly‘s life, using her iconic songs, as well as some new ones that she wrote for the show. Tony winner Bartlett Sher directs with a book by Dolly and Emmy winner Maria S. Schlatter.
Sher said, “During our world premiere in Nashville, I was overwhelmed by the deep connection audiences have with Dolly. You mention her name and people light up and share a time that she has inspired them and brought them joy. But despite all of that genuine love, Dolly has never really shared her story before. She’s offered glimpses and peeks, but this musical allows her to reveal the unfiltered story in her own words. As we prepare to come to Broadway, we’re thrilled to show that rhinestones were never her whole story.”
Casting has not yet been announced for the Broadway run, but the pre-Broadway production in Nashville featured three actresses playing Dolly at different points of her life: Katie Rose Clarke, Carrie St. Louis, and newcomer Quinn Titcomb.
