#MAGFAB: Don Cheadle: For VIBE Digital "The Sweet Science Of Life"
With a career spanning decades, Don Cheadle has embodied bold, brave, and every round character in between, but on this day, the starring role he takes on is himself. Who would’ve guessed that the young, handsome, bright-eyed talent who portrayed the dynamic Ice Tray on The Fresh Prince Of Belair in 1990 would rise to become one of Hollywood’s most notable alchemists of Black excellence, recognizable voices, and in-demand talents in front of the camera and beyond?

In reality, he himself would have likely made this prediction with no qualms.

“I started in theater, went to California Institute of the Arts, and did 35 plays. [I] Wrote plays, directed plays, got out of school, went and did theater around the country, produced plays, did TV early. I’ve been working professionally since 1985, so I’ve been very fortunate, blessed, lucky, any other words you want to use to have the opportunity to play a multitude of different things,” reflects Cheadle to VIBE as a fast-paced photoshoot dwindles to a chat over leftover sandwiches, salad, and room temperature coffee.

Born Donald Frank Cheadle Jr. in Kansas City, Mo., in 1964, the actor was raised by his mother Bettye Cheadle, a teacher, and father, Donald Frank Cheadle Sr. a psychologist. He moved around with his family before landing in Denver and graduating from high school. After earning his bachelor’s degree in fine arts at the CalArts, he embarked on a journey to stardom.

Early roles landed by the lauded actor include a recurring spot in Fame (1982) and feature film roles in Dennis Hopper’s Colors (1988) and John Irvin’s Hamburger Hill (1987). Cheadle’s star began to shine when a co-starring turn alongside Denzel Washington in Devil In A Blue Dress (1995) earned him critical acclaim.
His career steadily expanded, taking him from a buzzing entertainer to an acclaimed artist, telling stories across television and film with care and nuance. Cheadle became a staple across comedy, drama, and action genres, with memorable moments on the silver screen and in theaters. A household name, audiences may recognize him from The Bernie Mac Show, Boogie Nights, ER, or maybe Crash,  the Avengers franchises…how about Oceans 11 or 13? Don’t forget Miles Ahead, which he also directed, and Rosewood.

Frankly, there’s probably a stellar and completely singular Cheadle project for most cinephiles. Over his 40-plus years and counting as actor, director, and producer, Cheadle has earned 119 major award nominations and 38 wins, with recognition from the BET Awards, the BAFTA Awards, the Critics Choice Awards, the Primetime Emmy Awards, the Golden Globes, the GRAMMY Awards, the NAACP Image Awards, the Kids Choice Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and many more.

A crown jewel in the entertainment industry, he is EGOT nominated, counting his 2005 Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for his passionate portrayal in Hotel Rwanda, which he followed up with continued advocacy in Rwanda and Somalia. Now, once again, in a different setting, he is charged with depicting another real-life story with dramatized truth, nuance, and intention.

On VIBE’s day with him, a blistering heat wave blazes through Los Angeles. It’s a mid-July morning when the veteran actor meets a bustling team at Dust Studios in Hollywood. Opting to drive himself to set, Cheadle arrives solo to a complete crew of over a dozen people and instantly raises the vibrations before bouncing between an intricate setup of cameras, backdrops, and set pieces.

Cheadle moves with ease, as smooth as the jazz playing over the speakers, ensuring all present get a personal hello. Subtle smile lines delicately carve his glowing mahogany skin as multiple daps, hugs, and handshakes are shared. As he floats through the studio, Cheadle’s serious yet soothing mood is contagious. When the 59-year-old emerges from the dressing room, he flexes a sharp lineup, smug smirk, and sleek, fall-ready threads from Yves Saint Laurent. From head to toe, it’s clear: the cool has arrived.

Not intimidated by multiple cameras capturing his every move, the endless flashing lights, and an off-beat leak dripping from a ceiling pipe into a plastic bucket, the veteran actor remains in tune with an internal rhythm familiar to fans worldwide. Spinning, singing, dancing, and smizing, Cheadle is far from shy, chatting and snapping photos with me and lead photographer Sage East in between shots. Always adding swagger, he remains in motion as Terrace Martin, Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, and other contemporary jazz and soul artists set the ultimate groove.

Later, seated across from one another on a creased leather sectional, his posture changes into something like super present ease as we bounced questions and answers back and forth—indicating an uncanny comfort with strangers or unreal self-composure.

Preparing to take on the role of J.D. Hudson in Peacock’s limited series, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, inspired by the true crime story that changed Atlanta history—ushering in its era as the “Black Mecca.” Cheadle’s own life story begins only a couple of years prior to the heist dramatized on screen.
“All of it was new to me. I mean, of course, I knew about [Muhammad] Ali and I knew about him refusing to go to Vietnam and fight in that war, and who he became at that moment and what he meant to the culture,” he says. “But I didn’t know anything about this fight or what was happening in Atlanta at that time … that aspect of Atlanta as a cultural center for Black people in the specific way that it was.”

A lot has changed in Atlanta since Chicken Man, the central character and hustler (depicted by Kevin Hart) who aims for the top in Peacock’s new series Fight Night. The Peach State capital of today is vastly different socially, politically, and economically. However, some of the themes orchestrated through conflicts explored in the fictional series have sustained as evergreen sources of both tension and triumph.

Fight Night, executive produced by Will Packer, is inspired by the true-crime podcast of the same name. In the 13-episode audio series, host Jeff Keating travels back to Oct. 26, 1970, the night Ali defeated Jerry Quarry (known as the “Great White Hope.”) It also happened to be Ali’s return to the ring following his ban for his refusal to enter Vietnam War’s draft. And of course, that night, Chicken Man’s golden ticket turned to pyrite in one instant as his planned fight party transformed into a heist, with many believing he set up the entire ordeal.
Keating, an executive producer of the limited series, learned the story of the night’s events from his father decades ago, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constituion. With additional research gathered from deep dives at the local library, he penned a documentary and scripted film that he shopped for years, imagining Jamie Foxx or Don Cheadle as the lead. Eventually, Keating teamed with Packer and iHeartMedia to bring the podcast to fruition, calling the partnership a “pleasant surprise.”
“We actually thought it could be a movie,” explained Packer. “We still think it has viability as a movie.” But the opportunity to turn it into a true-crime podcast came up first.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair, before the start of 2020’s global pandemic, Hart revealed that he had initially planned a remake of the Sidney Poitier–Bill Cosby comedy vehicle Uptown Saturday Night with himself and the late Chadwick Boseman, inspired by the story explored in Fight Night. It was Packer’s idea to bring the project back to life by telling it through a different lens.
“It was kind of a sour spot attached to that world, and I didn’t want to touch it at all—being that me and Chadwick were so close,” Hart explained to the magazine. “I said that the only way I would do it is if we could turn it into a drama.”

Now, translated into that picture-perfect dramatization, Fight Night takes the epic story from a chapter of  “if you know, you know” Atlanta lore to a captivating whodunit. Also starring Taraji P. Henson, with Chloe Bailey, Lori Harvey, Terrence Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, Dexter Darden, Clifton Powell, Melvin Gregg, Myles Bullock, Artrece Johnson, and Jalyn Hall, the project unites extraordinary Black talent across generations.

Cheadle was also glad to spend time on set working with and offering guidance to some of Fight Night’s newer, rising stars.

#RHOA: Chet Hanks reveals he had dinner with Kim Zolciak after ‘Surreal Life,’ would move to Georgia to date ‘RHOA’ alum

Chet Hanks reveals he had dinner with Kim Zolciak after 'Surreal Life,' would move to Georgia to date 'RHOA' alumChet Hanks reveals he had dinner with Kim Zolciak after 'Surreal Life,' would move to Georgia to date 'RHOA' alum
Meeting Kim Zolciak was a highlight for Chet Hanks — and now he’s open to dating the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum after sparks flew on the set of “The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets.”

“One of the best moments of my life was meeting Kim Zolciak,” the actor told Page Six exclusively on the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards black carpet at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, on Wednesday.
Hanks, 34, shared that he and Zolciak, 46, have kept in touch since the MTV reality show wrapped filming, and he even joined her and her girlfriends out for dinner in Los Angeles recently.

The “Shameless” star claimed, however, that he and the “Don’t Be Tardy” alum are just “really good friends,” adding a coy laugh when asked whether there are any benefits involved.
The positive feelings are mutual, as Zolciak recently called Hanks a “nice guy” and smiled when a paparazzo mentioned his name.
Despite their current status, the “White Boy Summer” rapper said he would “absolutely” move in order to date the former Bravolebrity.
“I’m living in Nashville right now, so it’s not that far [from Georgia],” he pointed out.

As for Zolciak’s ongoing divorce from Kroy Biermann, Hanks said he has not been keeping up with the news but wishes his pal “the best with that.”
The “Your Honor” alum added that he is not turned off by the “Don’t Be Tardy” singer having six children — as he has one of his own — and considers himself a “family man.”

Hanks is very close with his A-list parents, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

#NewMusic from Jordin Sparks Releases New Album ‘No Restrictions’

Grammy-nominated singer Jordin Sparks has returned with her new album, No Restrictions.
The 15-track set was preceded by the lead single “Call My Name” and the Michael Jackson-sampled “Remember.” The album includes guest appearances from T-Pain, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, and Stonebwoy.

On No Restrictions, Sparks doesn’t hold back as she explores different genres, including hip-hop soul (“Forever” featuring T-Pain), quiet storm (“No Restrictions”), Afrobeats (“No Cry” featuring Stonebwoy), acoustic soul (“What Are We Doing?” featuring Shawn Stockman) and dance-pop (“More Than Enough”). No matter the backdrop, Sparks’ golden-toned vocals shine through.

“I have been working on this album for many moons, creating it and fine-tuning every song until it was 100 percent me,” says Sparks. “A lot of beautiful joy and intention went into creating this art. I am so excited it is finally out and ready for the world to experience who I am now!”
Sparks launched her No Restrictions era in October 2023 with the soaring “Call My Name.” She described the track as “an ode to a love so full, so effortless and pure—there’s a peace and contentment within it.”

“Call My Name” became Sparks’ first entry on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in over a decade. The song debuted at No. 29 on the chart dated Nov. 4, 2023.
In August, she returned with “Remember,” which samples Michael Jackon‘s “Remember The Time.”

Regarding “Remember,” Sparks stated, “I’ve always been mesmerized by Michael Jackson’s music. To blend his legendary sound with my own is a dream come true. This track has an irresistible groove – those 808s will make you feel it deep in your bones and get you moving from the first beat! Thank you, Michael, for the incredible music.”
No Restrictions is the follow-up to Sparks’ 2015 album, Right Here, Right Now. The latter album was executive produced by Salaam Remi and featured collaborations with 2 Chainz, Shaggy, Elijah Blake, B.o.B., and J-Doe.

#HipHopNews: Remy Ma Reveals Prison Was “Worst Thing That Ever Happened To Me”

Remy Ma opened up about the harsh realities of life in prison, revealing the experience was the worst thing she ever endured.
Remy Ma is reflecting on her time in prison, revealing just how tough it was for her to miss out on her twenties behind bars.
In 2008, the Terror Squad member was sentenced to eight years for shooting and wounding a friend amid a dispute over missing money. She was released in 2014 after serving six years.

Remy Ma opened up about her time in prison during an appearance on the latest episode of Nick Cannon’s “We Playin’ Spades.” According to the “Ghetto & Ratchet” hitmaker, getting locked up is the one thing she would take back.
“Bro I’m not going to prison ever,” Remy Ma replied when asked about anything in her life that she would change. Before serving her sentence, the worst thing she had experienced was getting cut in the face.

“I was like this the worst thing that’s ever happened to me,” she added. “And then there was the penitentiary. I was like, ‘Oh this s### not cool.’ It was the worst thing that I’ve ever endured in my life ever.”

Nicki Cannon mentioned that Remy Ma gained respect from supporters on the outside who praised her for staying “10 toes down” while in prison.
“Well, that’s because nobody really knows what happened. I’ve never talked about it, ever,” she explained. “Because I’m not supposed to. Like, that’s just how I grew up, even though a lot of ways that I feel like they taught us in the hood was like ass backwards. It’s not real life. But I feel like a lot of people don’t know, like what really happened.”

She continued, “I felt like once I came home, I already was in jail. What am I going to talk about? I can’t change it, it already happened. Now f### everybody. I don’t care, whatever y’all want to think.”

Nicki Cannon urged Remy Ma to write a book shedding light on her prison time. However, it’s not likely to happen.
“That’s a part of the reason, too, why I probably am leery about a book,” she added. “Because I feel like it’s certain things that I would have to say to make it authentic, or there’s certain things that I have to leave out.”

Diddy Arrested In New York Following Indictment
Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in Manhattan on Monday (September 16) following a grand jury indictment, although the official charges have yet to be divulged. The ball started rolling in November 2023, when ex Cassie Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit against the Bad Boy Records mogul accusing him of sexual and physical abuse. A probe into Diddy’s lifestyle followed and a federal investigation ensued.
Federal agents executed search warrants at his properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March and investigators interviewed several people in relation to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms.

Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo addressed the arrest in a statement to Media
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo said. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.

“To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Following Ventura’s initial lawsuit, Diddy was hit with at least eight more civil lawsuits alleging abuse.
The most recent lawsuit against him came from former Bad Boy artist Dawn Richard, who filed a complaint last week in Manhattan federal court. Richard claims she witnessed Diddy abuse Ventura on multiple occasions and that recent lawsuits encouraged her to come forward.
“As more women courageously come forward, plaintiff has been empowered by this collective strength and now adds her voice to the growing chorus of victims bravely sharing their harrowing stories,” lawyers for Richard wrote.  “Together, they seek justice and stand in solidarity, as the latest victims of the #Me Too movement in the music industry.”

Kaleena Harper, who was once in the trio Dirty Money alongside Diddy and Richard, issued a statement to her Instagram Story in the wake of the lawsuit.
“I acknowledge the recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard in which my name has been mentioned 33 times,” Harper began. “While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved.

“It’s important to understand that while I was present in some of the same professional settings mentioned, many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth.”
Another one of Diddy’s attorneys, Erica Wolf, dismissed it (once again) as an attempt to extort money from him.

“Mr. Combs is shocked and disappointed by this lawsuit,” Wolff said. “In an attempt to rewrite history, Dawn Richard has now manufactured a series of false claims all in the hopes of trying to get a payday — conveniently timed to coincide with her album release and press tour.

“If Ms. Richard had such a negative experience with Making the Band and Danity Kane, she would not have chosen to continue working directly with Mr. Combs for Dirty Money, nor would she have returned for the Making the Band reboot in 2020 or agreed to be featured on The Love Album last year. It’s unfortunate that Ms. Richard has cast their 20-year friendship aside to try and get money from him, but Mr. Combs is confidently standing on truth and looks forward to proving that in court.”

Lamorne Morris Wins First Emmy Award For Supporting Actor Role In ‘Fargo’

Lamorne Morris has finally snagged his first Emmy Award. On Sunday’s (Sept. 15) 76th Emmy Awards ceremony, Morris was up for best-supporting actor in a limited series for his role as Deputy Witt Farr. Other nominations in the category included Jonathan Bailey from Fellow Travelers, Robert Downey Jr. in The Sympathizer, Tom Goodman-Hill for his role in Baby Reindeer, John Hawkes in True Detective: Night Country, Lewis Pullman for his role in Lessons in Chemistry, and Feud: Capote vs. The Swans’ Treat Williams.

Morris appeared shocked as the camera whipped around to him after his name was announced as the winner in the category. Lamorne kissed his mother, who was equal parts shocked and proud, and then made his way to the stage where he gave a speech that sounded like he was channeling his character, Winston Bishop, from New Girl. He thanked his mother, his daughter, who he said has consistently doubted him, and even Downey.
“Oh my gosh! Oh wow!” he shouted. “[Thank] God for allowing me to be here… I also want to thank God for my beautiful mother, who raised me. She’s been my biggest champion ever since I… you know, came out… you know, I dropped out of her butt. I know where babies come from!”

“[My] beautiful daughter. I love you. I told you I would do it. You’ve always doubted me,” he joked. “I’m here, I’m your leader. [Robert Downey Jr.] I have a signed poster of you in my house. Please sign it. Seriously,” he added.

Prior to the history-making win, Lamorne reacted to his nomination on his Instagram back in July. He referenced his work on New Girl and thanked FX for trusting him to star in their hit show, Fargo.
“Thank you to the @TelevisionAcad for finally recognizing all my hard work on New Girl,” he typed. “Although I believe it’s a lock, I do see I’m nominated alongside @RobertDowneyJr who stole my role in Tropic Thunder. My fellow nominees and I won’t let this slide. This is a great honor and I couldn’t be more excited! Truly blessed to work with such a talented cast and crew! Special thank you Noah for the opportunity and trusting me to bring Witt Farr to life! Go @fargo!”

Nicki Minaj destroys reporter who claims she side-stepped a question
Nicki Minaj deep-fried a reporter with a blazing insult after he claimed the rap superstar side-stepped a question about Black unity.
Minaj is notoriously prickly and has engaged in beef with a multiplicity of other rappers, mostly fellow female emcees, throughout the course of her illustrious career. Therefore, no one is surprised that Minaj’s tongue resembled a discharged projectile when an interviewer tried to expose her recently.

The “Moment 4 Life” star was interviewed by DTLR radio host Fadam Got Da Juice when she suggested that Blacks in America are not a monolith.

“Do we have unity amongst human beings? Like, if its eight billion people in the world, imagine thinking all eight billion people gon’ get along with each other,” Minaj elaborated. “I used to be a waitress. It was a bunch of people not getting along in there. I mean, no matter where you go, you’re going to be at odds with people. I think the point, though, is when you get to a place where nothing around you affects what’s inside of you.”

When the interview was posted and an X user named Elliott Wilson congratulated Fadam Got Da Juice on landing an interview with the world-renowned entertainer, the radio show host said Minaj danced around the concept of Black unity.

“She ducked the smoke on the question man. I had to take the shot though,” Da Juice said.
Someone must have shown Minaj the interviewer’s sentiments on Minaj because she breathed fire that scorched the radio show host to a crisp:

“The obsession. Only thing I ducked was his fkng breath. Smelled like a double portion of 4 wings & some french fries, hot A– & ketchup n—-,” she penned for her 28 million X followers.

Fans torch the radio show host for trying Nicki Minaj publicly
Multiple fans noticed that Minaj was side-eyeing host Fadam Got Da Juice at the beginning of the interview. And once Minaj gathered the radio show personality, fans were merciless as they also piled on the insults.

Rich Lowry Says He Didn’t Say the N Word  that You Heard Him Say on ‘Megyn Kelly’

Folks online are calling out National Review editor-in-chief Rich Lowry after he seemingly used a racist slur while discussing the Republican-launched anti-Haitian rhetoric that migrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating domesticated animals.

The moment happened on “The Megyn Kelly Show” after the host defended JD Vance for admitting to CNN’s Dana Bash that he made up the story about Haitians in Ohio for attention.

“You remember alternative facts with Kellyanne? They did the same thing. She wasn’t saying you make up fictions and pretend they’re facts. You bring other facts to bear in the debate that are being ignored,” Lowry said, also finding reason in Vance’s racist tactic. “That’s what [Vance] was saying. I think it was in that interview where Dana Bash says, ‘Police have gone through 11 months of recordings of calls and they’ve only found two Springfield residents calling to complain about Haitian…”

That’s when it appeared to sound as if Lowry used the racist slight, “n—r.”
He then corrected himself with “migrants” and continued with his thoughts.

“Only two calls, and I think one lesson in this whole story: People don’t care about geese. People really hate geese. All things considered, I think people would prefer Haitian migrants to come and take the geese off the golf course,” Lowry said.
“Yep, this is exactly what happened — I began to mispronounce the word ‘migrants’ and caught myself halfway through,” he explained of himself afterwards on X (formerly Twitter).

It didn’t take long for social media to weigh in on whether they heard an “n” or an “m” atop the utterance in question.
“Wow. Rich Lowry called Haitian immigrants ‘the n-word’ at the 42-second mark here while defending Trump and Vance making up the story about Springfield, Ohio,” an X user wrote over a video clip of the incident. “Listen for yourself — it’s hard to hear it any other way. Unbelievable.”

One person even slowed the clip down for potential clarity.
“I took the clip of Rich Lowry editor-in-chief of National Review, from ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ and slowed it to 30% on Premiere Pro while maintaining the pitch,” another X user wrote. “Lowry was talking about Haitian migrants. The captions were generated by AI. It sounds like he said the n-word.”

Despite there being no evidence of Haitian immigrants stealing and eating pets and local officials coming forward to debunk the reports, many Republicans have continued to push the false narrative anyway.
“In response to recent rumors alleging criminal activity by the immigrant population in our city, we wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community,” a Springfield Police spokesperson said last week.

The rumors about Haitian migrants started up after a 27-year-old, non-Haitian, Black woman named Allexis Telia Ferrell was arrested in Canton, Ohio, after police said she may have murdered a cat in a “residential area in front of multiple people,” USA Today reported. Canton is about 170 miles northeast of Springfield. Ferrell is an Ohio resident.

Ashanti Flaunts Postpartum Figure On First Day Of Gym Since Giving Birth
Ashanti has embraced her postpartum body after giving birth. Around two months after welcoming her child, the "Foolish" songstress confidently flaunted her figure during her first day of gym.
On Monday, September 16, the 43-year-old singer/songwriter revealed that she has returned to the gym for the first time since her baby's arrival. Making use of Instagram Stories, she offered social media users a glimpse of her workout session by sharing a series of videos.

In one of the short clips, it could be seen that Ashanti was showing off her outfit of the day after arriving at the gym. She put on a busty display in a black bra top underneath a pink tank top. She also donned a pair of matching leggings.
Ashanti completed the look with a pair of orange sneakers, which came with white soles. She also rocked a black Nike hat, which featured white embroideries on its front side, and a pair of shades. In addition, her long dark-colored hair was styled in an updo.

Another video, in the meantime, documented Ashanti walking on a treadmill. The singer, who showcased her makeup-free face, appeared to be in good spirits, flashing her radiant smile at the camera. Meanwhile, the other footage showed her doing a leg workout on a black mat.
The videos were later shared by a blog via Instagram, prompting social media users to shower Ashanti with praise for sharing her relatable journey after giving birth. In the comments section, one in particular gushed, "Her && Ciara gives us real transformation in the gym from having a baby and I love that."

Similarly, another marveled, "Love how she waited for her body to heal up some before getting in the gym..these others be in there the next day smh." A third exclaimed, "This what I'm talkin bout she let her body rest before hopping right in the gym." A fourth added, "Finally a real ppd body , !!! AND LOOKS SO GOOD."

The stories came less than one month after Ashanti broke the news about the arrival of her and Nelly's first child. On August 21, the couple's representative shared the details, "Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, on July 18, 2024. The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK!"

Kevin Hart Regrets His Feud With Katt Williams
In a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Kevin Hart addressed his longstanding feud with Katt Williams. Hart admitted that he regrets responding to Williams' criticisms made during Williams' infamous "Club Shay Shay" interview earlier this year.
During the interview, Williams labeled Hart an "industry plant" and accused him of stealing movie roles. Hart initially brushed off the comments, dismissing them as "entertainment." However, in his conversation with Charlamagne, Hart revealed a shift in perspective.

"Yeah, I should never address him, at all," Hart stated. "I look at everything from a business and economic standpoint. If I'm investing in something, what is my return?"
Hart's regret stems from a 2018 interview, where he defended his "Night School" co-star Tiffany Haddish from Williams' criticism. Hart expressed frustration with Williams' lack of accountability and his tendency to blame others for his own failures.

Williams, who has had his own struggles with addiction, denied Hart's claims of being on drugs. He has since apologized for his past remarks about Hart, calling them "regrettable."
Despite Hart's regret over responding to Williams, he maintains a sense of security in his career. "I've changed the business of stand-up comedy," Hart asserted. "You have to respect what I've done."

However, Hart's stance on the feud has not always been so amicable. In a 2018 appearance on "The Breakfast Club", Hart accused Williams of not showing up to work due to drug use. Williams vehemently denied these claims on "Club Shay Shay".
Despite their differences, both Hart and Williams have made significant contributions to the world of comedy. Hart's immense success as a stand-up comedian and actor stands as a testament to his talent and determination, while Williams' outspoken and controversial style has earned him a loyal following. The ongoing feud between these two comedic heavyweights serves as a reminder of the complexities and rivalries that exist within the entertainment industry.

Usher says no one is surpassing Michael Jackson’s impact: “Everybody has their place in history”
What would music look and sound like without the influence of Michael Jackson, the world’s biggest and most iconic pop star to grace the global stage? We may never know for sure, but the generation of entertainers who used his career as a blueprint to chart their own success makes his impact undeniable.

Usher is among the artists who have found ways to weave hints of the “Thriller” superstar into his performances and stage persona, dance moves included. But if you were to ask him who, if anyone, might be the second coming of Jackson, he wouldn’t name himself or any other pop-R&B act.

“The same as in history, there’s been inspiration that defines who and inspired who I am. There will only be one Little Richard. There will only be one James Brown. There will only be one Michael Jackson. There will only be one Prince. There will only be one Usher,” he told The Associated Press. “So with that, everybody has their space in history. I’m just trying to make certain that we remember it.”

The eight-time Grammy Award-winner released his ninth studio album, Coming Home, performed at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, launched a world tour, PAST PRESENT FUTURE, and has been receiving his flowers for his decades-long career all year. He is currently promoting his international concert film, USHER: RENDEZVOUS IN PARIS, that completes its three-day run in AMC Theaters on Sunday (Sept. 15).

The debate challenging fans to choose between the crooner and his younger contemporary, Chris Brown, has been ongoing for years. Most recently, this summer, singer-songwriter Tank declared Brown to be the ultimate evolution of Jackson. Usher’s super fans agree that the “Run It” artist has proven talents, hits, and moves, but that MJ’s crown is best suited to be passed down to the 2024 Billboard R&B Entertainer of the Year winner.

“Chris Brown is in fact better than Michael Jackson,” said Tank in an August appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show.” He doubled down on his stance, arguing, “If there was Magic Johnson, now there is LeBron James. That is the ultimate evolution of a man who can play all five positions. If we talk about Chris Brown, we’re talking about the evolution of Michael Jackson, the evolution of Usher, the evolution of me, the evolution of Ginuwine. That is what this kid is.”

Brown, like Usher, not only has a history of praising the legendary entertainer throughout his career but also called cap on the comparisons.

Jordan Chiles takes bid to restore Olympic bronze to Swiss Supreme Court

American gymnast Jordan Chiles is asking Switzerland's Supreme Court to overturn a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport that stripped Chiles of a bronze medal in floor exercise at the 2024 Olympics.
Chiles, with the support of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee and USA Gymnastics, filed the appeal Monday, a little over a month after CAS voided an on-floor appeal by Chiles' coach Cecile Landi during the event finals on Aug. 5 that vaulted Chiles from fifth to third.

CAS, following a hearing requested by Romanian officials, ruled Landi's appeal came 4 seconds beyond the 1-minute time limit for scoring inquiries and recommended the initial finishing order be restored. The International Gymnastics Federation complied and the International Olympic Committee ended up awarding bronze to Romanian Ana Barbosu on Aug. 16.
Chiles' appeal maintains that the CAS hearing violated her "right to be heard" by refusing to allow video evidence that Chiles and USA Gymnastics believe showed Landi appealed within the 1-minute time allotment. Chiles' appeal also argues that Hamid G. Gharavi, president of the CAS panel, has a conflict of interest due to past legal ties to Romania.

USA Gymnastics wrote in a statement Monday night that it made a "collective, strategic decision to have Jordan lead the initial filing. USAG is closely coordinating with Jordan and her legal team and will make supportive filings with the court in the continued pursuit of justice for Jordan."

The appeal is the next step in what could be a months- or years-long legal battle over the gymnastics scores.
Chiles was last among the eight women to compete during the floor exercise finals initially given a score of 13.666 that placed her fifth, right behind Barbosu and fellow Romanian Sabrina Maneca-Voinea. Landi called for an inquiry on Chiles' score.

"At this point, we had nothing to lose, so I was like, 'We're just going to try,'" Landi said after the awards ceremony. "I honestly didn't think it was going to happen, but when I heard her scream, I turned around and was like 'What?'"

Judges awarded the appeal, leapfrogging Chiles past Barbosu and Maneca-Voinea for the last spot on the podium.
Romanian officials appealed to CAS on several fronts while also asking a bronze medal be awarded to Chiles, Barbosu and Maneca-Voinea. The FIG and the IOC ultimately gave the bronze to Barbosu, who beat her teammate on a tiebreaker because she produced a higher execution score during her routine.

Garcelle Beauvais Condemns Donald Trump's 'Disgusting and Dangerous' Lies About Haitian Immigrants
Garcelle Beauvais is another star who has denounced the false claims made by Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, about the Haitian American community.
During last week’s presidential debate, the Republican candidate said that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were involved in abducting and consuming pets. "In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in," he said. "They're eating the cats. They're eating the pets of the people that live there. This is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame."

In response, on Sunday night (Sept. 15), the “Black Girl Missing” star took to Instagram with a detailed video condemning this statement. “Staying silent in the face of racism and hate is something that I refuse to do,” she said. “This past week, the lies that have been spewed about the Haitian community, about my community, have been disgusting, deeply hurtful and dangerous.”

She continued, “This is not about politics. It’s about humanity. We must condemn this kind of hatred, this kind of racism for anyone. I have always been a proud Haitian immigrant. Coming to America, working hard, that’s what we do, coming from gratitude. And I will not sit by and let people talk about my community in any way they want for their own gain.”
Beauvais added, “The power we have is the power to vote. To register and vote and stop this madness, this chaos. I am not gonna sit by,” Beauvais said. “It’s just not OK to treat people like this. We’re supposed to be uplifting each other. From our leaders to our neighbors, this has got to stop, and we have to do something about it. We can’t just sit by. Thanks for listening, register to vote. We have 50-something days. Go out and vote. We need to stop this chaos.” The actor also delivered part of her video in Haitian Creole.

Beauvais, who made her film debut in the 1988 hit movie Coming to America alongside Eddie Murphy, moved to the United States from Saint-Marc, Haiti, with her family when she was 7 years old. She published her memoir, “Love Me As I Am: My Journey from Haiti to Hollywood to Happiness,” in 2022.

Police Reveal New Details on Tito Jackson's Death & What Happened in His Final Moments

Jackson 5 original member Tito Jackson sadly passed away at the age of 70 over the weekend and now new details have been revealed about his death.
The musician’s passing was confirmed by his former manager on Sunday (September 15), but no details had been released at the time. The manager suspected that Tito suffered a heart attack while driving from New Mexico to Oklahoma, but those details were not official.

The Gallup Police Department in Gallup, New Mexico has shared new details.
An officer was notified on 6:15pm on Sunday that there was “an individual requiring medical attention and promptly requested an ambulance.” The medical emergency happened at the American Heritage Plaza shopping center, according to People.

Paramedics transported the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man was identified as Tito.
“Investigators are actively interviewing witnesses and examining both physical and electronic records. The Department’s understanding of the facts and circumstances may evolve as additional evidence is gathered analyzed,” the Gallup Police Department said in a statement.

A cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Reggaeton Star Nicky Jam Deletes Endorsement After Donald Trump Misgendering Him

Reggaeton star Nicky Jam seems to be rolling back his support for Donald Trump after the Republican nominee mistakenly introduced him as a “hot” woman at a Las Vegas rally over the weekend.
Jam initially made light of the gaffe in an Instagram post—its caption referred to himself, in Spanish, as a “hot woman,” accompanied by no fewer than 22 crying-laughing emojis. But, as of Sunday night, the post had been deleted. The comment section on his most recent post before it, which was unrelated to Trump, was also deactivated.

Jam’s Trump endorsement, amplified by the buzz surrounding the awkwardly inaccurate rally introduction, has made him the subject of relentless criticism—and mockery—across the internet.

Commentators flooded the most recent post on Jam’s Instagram with jokes at the vocalist’s expense.
“Trump thought you were a girl! He didn’t even take the time to look you up, and you’re here kissing his toes,” reads a comment by @nataliaalcazar91, with nearly 8,000 likes. Others speculated in comments that the former president confused Jam with the rapper Nicki Minaj, punctuated by laughing emojis.

Jam has faced more backlash beyond jokes from faceless internet trolls. Manà, a Mexican rock band, scrubbed their collab with Jam, “De Pies a Cabeza,” from streaming services on Sunday. They also released a statement condemning the Trump endorsement.
“Maná doesn’t work with racists,” read an Instagram post from the band’s official account.

Although the deleted post seems to hint at a change of heart from Jam, he hasn’t yet released any official update to his stance on the former president.

Mark Cuban Expresses Interest in Buying Fox News and X

Mark Cuban admits he would buy Fox News "in a heartbeat." Cuban tells WIRED senior writer Lauren Goode that he does not have enough money to acquire the network from Fox Corporation.
"If I had enough money to do it, which I don’t, I’d buy it in a heartbeat," he said when asked about the legacy news company.

With Fox’s current market value at $15.6 billion, the Dallas Mavericks minority owner explained how that figure is merely the starting point in determining the overall financial commitment.

"And you've got to pay at least 50 percent premium. So now it's $22 billion," Cuban said. "And then you’ve got to make all the changes, so that's another $2 billion. You can sell some things off. So maybe it's $15 billion, $20 billion net. I don’t have $15 or $20 billion in cash sitting around."
When asked if he would buy X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Cuban said he wishes he could but "there’s no reason" for Elon Musk to make that deal and that he "wouldn’t sell it."
Aside from his desire to hold onto X, Musk has gone back and forth with Cuban on several occasions.

Musk most recently fired back at Cuban's accusation in a Daily Show interview last month that the X owner is manipulating algorithms on the platform in order to push certain agendas.

Cuban confessed that he would buy X in a perfect world. "I wish I could," he said. "There’s no reason for him to sell it."
In a deal that was finalized last December, Cuban sold his majority shares in the basketball team for $3.5 billion to a group led by Dr. Miriam Adelson, the widow of late casino magnate Sheldon Adelson.

Cuban still retains a 27 percent ownership stake in the team and will continue to oversee basketball operations, per NBA reporter Marc Stein. In January, the billionaire blessed employees of the Dallas Mavericks with a $35 million bonus following the sale of his stake in the team.

Michaela Mabinty DePrince's Mom Elaine DePrince Died 24 Hours After the Ballerina
A day after Boston ballerina Michaela Mabinty DePrince died at the age of 29, her adopted mother Elaine DePrince died at 77 during a routine procedure. The DePrince family has shared more heartbreaking news.
After confirming the death of Boston Ballet principal soloist Michaela Mabinty DePrince at the age of 29, her family shared that Michaela mother's Elaine DePrince died within 24 hours of her adopted daughter.
"The last few days have been even more difficult than most people realize," they posted to Facebook Sept. 14, "because the family has also been dealing with the death of Michaela's adoptive mother Elaine DePrince."
They shared that Michaela passed on Sept. 10, while Elaine, who was 77, died on Sept. 11 "during a routine procedure in preparation for a surgery."

"Michaela died before Elaine and Elaine did not know of Michaela's passing at the time of her procedure," the family added. "As unbelievable as it may seem, the two deaths were completely unrelated. The only way we can make sense of the senseless is that Elaine, who had already lost three children many years ago, was by the grace of God spared the pain of experiencing the loss of a fourth child."
In another Facebook update from Sept. 14, posted alongside black and white photos of Elaine reading to her children when they were younger, the family added that she had experienced "many years of battling a hereditary disease and heart failure." She is survived by her children Mia, Beelee, Jaye, Mariel, Amie and her sons, Erik and Adam.
Michaela's family first shared the news of her death on Sept. 13, writing on her official Instagram page, "Michaela touched so many lives across the world, including ours. She was an unforgettable inspiration to everyone who knew her or heard her story."

Her cause of death has not been made public.
The dancer was born in Sierra Leone in 1995, but was soon sent to an orphanage after both her parents died during the country's 11-year civil war. At the age of 4, she and fellow orphan Mia were adopted by an American family in New Jersey, who encouraged her love of dance.
As Michaela—who cowrote her 2014 memoir Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina with Elaine—explained early in her career, her interest in dance was sparked while she was in the orphanage and discovered an image from a discarded magazine.

"There was a lady on it," she told the BBC in 2012 of the magazine, "she was on her tippy-toes, in this pink, beautiful tutu. I had never seen anything like this—a costume that stuck out with glitter on it, with just so much beauty. I could just see the beauty in that person and the hope and the love and just everything that I didn't have."
As she explained, she thought to herself, "'Wow! This is what I want to be.'"

Miley Cyrus Is Reportedly Being Sued Over The Similarities In ‘Flowers’ And A Beloved Bruno Mars Track

A newly filed lawsuit might have Miley Cyrus smelling the inside of a court rather than fresh roses. According to TMZ, Miley’s Grammy Award-winning and chart-topping hit “Flowers” is being accused of “intentionally copying” a beloved Bruno Mars record.
In documents obtained by the outlet, Tempo Music Investments is looking to restore the intellectual property protections of Bruno Mars’ song “When I Was Your Man.” The company claims to have an ownership in the track’s copyright, which they want the courts to enforce, despite Bruno Mars allegedly not being named as co-plaintiff in the suit.

A representative Tempo Music argued that “substantial” piece of Mars’ track through the melody, harmony, chorus, and even lyrics of “Flowers” are pulled directly from Bruno Mars’ 2012 record.

To be specific, Tempo Music referenced one of the single’s most standout elements, its chord progressions. Later in the filing, Tempo Music accused Miley along with “Flowers” producers and even her record label of having direct access to Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man.”

Tempo Music is seeking financial damages, although the exact amount doesn’t seem to be disclosed. The company is also asking the courts to prohibit Miley from performing the record and ceasing any further distribution of “Flowers.”

The similarities are hard to ignore. Upon “Flowers” release, fans immediately drew attention to it. However, supporters find the lawsuit odd given that Bruno Mars doesn’t appear to be connected in any way.

A’ja Wilson Makes WNBA History as the First Player to Hit 1,000 Points in a Single Season
A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces is officially the first WNBA player to score 1,000 points in a single season.
Days ago, it was reported that Wilson was just points away from hitting this milestone.  Wilson reached this incredible milestone during the Aces’ thrilling 84-71 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday with a spectacular pull-up shot from the elbow with just two minutes left on the clock.

Last week, Wilson shattered the single-season scoring record previously held by Seattle Storm star Jewell Loyd, who secured 939 points in a season.  After Wilson scored her record-breaking shot, her teammates rushed to celebrate this monumental achievement.  The crowd erupted in a roaring ovation, and Wilson took a moment to soak it all in, becoming emotional over her latest feat.
With the Aces holding a one-game lead over Seattle for the No. 4 seed and home-court advantage in the playoffs, they’ve been on a hot streak, winning seven of their last eight games.  Meanwhile, the Connecticut Sun, trailing by two games for the No. 2 seed, had a challenging third quarter, shooting just 4 of 16 from the field and failing to score from beyond the arc.

Wilson was a force to be reckoned with, scoring 14 points with four rebounds and two blocks in the third quarter alone, and her dominance was clear as she hit 6 of 8 field goals and both of her 3-point attempts.  Kelsey Plum also made a pivotal contribution with 14 points, including a crucial 3-pointer that sparked an 11-1 run, giving the Aces the lead for good.

Wilson and fans have been celebrating her 1,000-point season online, with many eager to see what else she has in store.

Jaleel White Reveals How Playing Steve Urkel Damaged His Voice

Jaleel White is opening up about the lasting impact his iconic role as Steve Urkel had on his voice during a panel at the 90s Con 2024 in Daytona Beach.
White, who brought the iconic Steve Urkel to life on Family Matters, got real about how the high-pitched voice he used for the role ended up messing with him.

“I spoke to a doctor,” White explained. “What happened is, during puberty, I spoke at the same pitch for extended periods of time. If the pitch had been going all over the place, I wouldn’t have damaged it quite as much. It’s been in remission and I’m fine now.”

For White, the damage wasn’t just physical—it was mentally draining too. He recalled a time when he thought he was really losing his voice. “I would constantly get network notes like, ‘We can’t hear him. Please be more clear,’” White shared. “It was kind of a scary thing for me to go through.”

Back when he first started playing Urkel, White didn’t know how to protect his voice. He admitted he didn’t have a vocal coach while acting on the show, which could have helped him avoid the damage.

However, now he’s learned how to keep things “under control” by working with a vocal coach and his doctor to keep his voice in check.
Despite the challenges, he’s been very vocal about his appreciation for the breakout role that made him a household name.
