#HipHopNews: French Montana Catching Heat for Hanging Out With Donald Trump’s Daughter-in-Law
French Montana is catching some heat for hanging out with Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.
On Thursday (July 25), French Montana hopped on his Instagram page and posted a photo and adjoining video of himself in the studio with Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. In the pic, which can be viewed below, the Bronx, N.Y.-based rapper is posing with Lara who holds up the peace sign with her fingers.
In the video, French pans the camera to Lara who waves the peace sign. "French Montana in the studio. Look who popped up on me," he said. "French Montana, Lara Trump, hann."
"Let 'em know, friend," Lara said. "But they will."
In another clip, French and Lara are initiating a Facetime call with an unidentified person followed by the pair chatting with each other in the studio.
The videos have sparked rumors that Lara Trump, who is the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and French Montana are collaborating on something to help bolster Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
However, French has not officially confirmed he's endorsing Trump for president.
After French posted his content on social media, he was immediately hit with backlash for socializing with Lara Trump. That's because French is a devout Muslim and Lara's father-in-law, Donald Trump, once banned Muslims from entering the U.S. In January of 2017, when Trump was the 45th president, he infamously signed an Executive Order that banned foreign nationals from seven predominantly Muslim countries from visiting the U.S.
"U Definitely wanna get canceled by the [Black] community now huh," wrote one person in the comment section.

Another commenter posted: "Project 2025 literally says they want to ban Muslims and send all the immigrants back to their homeland, so good luck with that lol."
frenchmontana/instagram
Hot 97 radio personality Ebro Darden opined: "Working on a pardon eh?"
frenchmontana/instagram
Ebro may be referring to drill rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, who have publicly endorsed Donald Trump, possibly in hopes of receiving a pardon if he is elected in November of 2024. Fellow rhymer Kodak Black has been a staunch supporter of Trump ever since the former president commutated Yak's four-year sentence on a federal gun charge in 2021.
#BoxOfficeNews: 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Breaks R-Rated Record, Raking in $205 Million USD at Opening Weekend Box Office
Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be the summer blockbuster film. Combining the storylines of two of the MCU's most popular characters has lent itself to be a winning match at the box office.
Skyrocketing to $205 million USD at the opening weekend box office, the sequel now holds the record for being the eighth-best debut of all time. It lands ahead of another Marvel classic, 2018's Black Panther which hit $202 million USD. Deadpool & Wolverine find themselves just below 2012's The Avengers which came in at $207 million USD and 2015's Jurassic World at $208 million USD. With its opening weekend success, the film is now the biggest R-rated debut ever. The ticket sales have surpassed the first Deadpool film which had $132 million USD in 2016 as well as Deadpool 2, which now got bumped down to being the third biggest R-rated debut with $125 million USD. With all three Deadpool sequels taking the top spots, Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Feige have made history.
Globally, Deadpool & Wolverine captured the hearts of Marvel fans and beyond, gaining $233.3 million USD, bringing the total international tally of $438 million USD. Just three days after the film's release, it is already the sixth-highest grossing film of the current year. It cost Disney $200 million USD to produce and another $100 million USD to promote the film. With its trajectory, the film is bound to be profitable. The final numbers surpass the projected $170 million USD. The Shawn Levy-directed film catapults to astronomical success, bringing back Logan amongst plot twists and major cameos.
Deadpool & Wolverine is now in theaters.
Sheila E. Confirms Prince Recorded And Deleted “Incredible” Solo Version Of Michael Jackson’s “Bad”
A Prince and Michael Jackson collaboration sort of existed once, per Sheila E., but it was scrapped before the King of Pop could even hear it.
During her recent appearance on The Jason Show, the drummer-singer confirmed why the duet never saw the light of day.
“So we get the song ‘Bad‘ from Michael [Jackson] and we’re here at Paisley [Park]. And Prince is like, ‘Wait a minute.’ He said, ‘Michael wants me to sing this song with him.’ So he played it for us. He goes, ‘Your butt is mine…’ He said, ‘What?! Your butt is mine?’ And he just walked away, he said, ‘Uh, uh,'” the 66-year-old began. Prince was referring to the opening line of the record.
Sheila E. then helped Prince re-record “Bad” at his Minnesota studio. She described his solo version as “so funky” and “so amazing,” before noting, “It was an incredible rendition of what it should’ve been.” She continued, “Then after we recorded it, we’re like, ‘Oh my God, we can’t wait for Michael to hear it.'”
The song didn’t even leave the studio. According to her, Prince immediately scrapped the record. “He erased the whole thing. Right there.” However, this was a move that the “Purple Rain” crooner pulled often.
“Oh yeah, it was fun. We did that all the time, though. I can name so many songs that we re-recorded that was sent to us. Ah, that’s another show,” Sheila E. joked. Back in 1997 during a sit-down with Chris Rock, Prince admitted that he was supposed to be featured on “Bad” in 1987, but never detailed what happened.
“Bad” went on to top the charts upon its release on August 31, 1987, landing at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks. The accompanying 18-minute visual was one of Jackson’s longest and was influenced by West Side Story.

But Lola’s seemingly perfect life is interrupted when a ghost from the past Tori (LeToya Luckett) suddenly shows up at her doorstep in search of her husband Leo, after having gone missing for years and being declared dead. Tensions rise and lives are turned upside down as Tori’s unexpected return leaves everyone questioning her motives and why she hasn’t gone to the police.
Jesse Williams Confirms Exit From 'Only Murders In The Building'
Jesse Williams, who brought life to the character Tobert in Season 3 of Hulu's critically acclaimed "Only Murders in the Building," has confirmed he will not be returning for the upcoming season. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the premiere of his new docuseries "Distilled," Williams, 42, announced, "No, I'm not on that show anymore."
Tobert, a documentarian and love interest to Selena Gomez's character Mabel, quickly became a fan favorite upon his debut. His storyline largely centered around helping Mabel investigate the mysterious death of Ben Glenroy, portrayed by Paul Rudd. As the season concluded, Tobert moved to Los Angeles to work on an indie film, leaving the door open for a potential return that, as it turns out, won't be happening.
Despite his exit, fans can look forward to plenty of familiar faces in Season 4. The dynamic trio of Steve Martin (Charles-Haden Savage), Martin Short (Oliver Putnam), and Selena Gomez (Mabel Mora) will continue to be the driving force of the show, joined once again by Meryl Streep (Loretta Durkin) and Paul Rudd (Ben Glenroy). Newcomers for this season include big names like Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Zach Galifianakis.
"Only Murders in the Building" has garnered significant acclaim for its unique blend of comedy and mystery, alongside its star-studded cast. Reflecting on his time on the show, Williams previously shared his admiration for co-stars Martin and Short, saying, "It may be the first time I've ever been like, 'Oh, this is the pinch yourself moment.' Each of them, independently and together, were such comedy pillars for me and were just so present on my screens growing up."
Season 4 is set to premiere on August 27, and this time around, the main characters will find themselves juggling their usual murder investigations with a new venture: turning their podcast into a blockbuster film. The season is also expected to delve into the mysterious death of Sazz Pataki, Charles' stunt double played by Jane Lynch.
Though Williams' absence will be felt, the show continues to evolve and introduce intriguing new elements, promising another thrilling ride for its audience. Don't miss the new season of "Only Murders in the Building" on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK starting this August 27.
Venus Williams Caught Packing On PDA With Actor And Director Andrea Preti In Italy
Venus Williams appears to have found herself a new man, five years after calling it quits with Nicholas Hammond. The former No. 1 tennis player has sparked dating rumors with actor and director Andrea Preti following their PDA-filled vacation.
On Sunday, July 28, DeuxMoi published on Instagram pictures of the alleged pair's lavish trip to Nerano, Italy. In the photos, the two were not shy to show their affection to each other despite being joined by fellow travelers on a yacht.
One of the images saw the 36-year-old hunk putting his hands on the professional tennis player's shoulders as he stood behind the 44-year-old athlete, who was sitting in front of him. At another point, he put his face close to hers as he seemingly whispered something in her ear.
The Danish filmmaker was seen wrapping his hand around her shoulder while she put on her green hat to protect her head from the sunlight in another snap. The two also shared a laugh while siting side-by-side on the dining table as they enjoyed a lighthearted conversation.
During the trip, Venus showed summer vibes in an olive green dress with a plunging neckline. Her dark hair was styled in a neat updo. Aside from her green hat, she kept her accessory to a minimum.
As for her rumored boo, he bared his chiseled chest in a white shirt that was left unbuttoned. He sported his curly hair and thick facial hair while rocking a pair of round dark shades to shield his eyes from the sunlight.
It's unclear when Venus and Nicholas started seeing each other. The sister of Serena Williams was last known in a relationship with millionaire Nicholas Hammond in 2017 before their split in 2019. At the time, Page Six reported their age difference played a factor. According to the outlet, Venus was ready for a marriage and family, while Nicholas was not on the same page.
Since then, Venus has been focusing on her health while trying to get back on the tennis court. In 2021, she was often seen with fellow tennis player Reilly Opeka, but she quickly shot down rumors that they were dating in an Instagram Story. In 2023, she hinted that she's ready to return to the dating game by joining the dating app Raya.
Peacock Sets Real Housewives Dating Show Spinoff with Luann de Lesseps, Gizelle Bryant and More
Peacock is giving Real Housewives fans something they're sure to love.
The streaming network — which is currently home to Love Island USA — has set a new reality dating series, sources tell us, which will gather eligible singles in a quest to win the hearts of four of Bravo's biggest bachelorettes.
Being produced under the working title Love Hotel, the show will star Luann de Lesseps (The Real Housewives of New York City), Shannon Storms Beador (Real Housewives of Orange County) and Real Housewives of Potomac O.G.'s Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby.
Filming will take place in September in Cabo San Lucas, where the women will be offered a diverse dating pool, insiders say. The show is expected to air sometime next year.
This isn't the first time the network has produced an all-star Housewives series.
In November 2021, Peacock debuted Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, which brought together seven of the franchises stars — including de Lesseps — for a vacation in Turks and Caicos.
Multiple seasons of the spinoff continued from there, including an Ex-Wives Club edition in June 2022 that featured former Housewives visiting Dorinda Medley's famed Blue Stone Manor. The season wound up leading to television returns for reality stars like Phaedra Parks (now on the cast of Married to Medicine) and Tamra Judge (back as an orange-holder on RHOC).
Both were also on season 2 of Peacock's Emmy-nominated hit The Traitors, of which Medley will be a part of in season 3.
Like de Lesseps, Bryant starred on an Ultimate Girls Trip — specifically, season 3, which was set in Thailand. De Lesseps and Medley then went back for season 4 of Ultimate Girls Trip, this time for a RHONY Legacy-themed season with fellow alums of the show Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman. That premiered in December 2023.
Another RHUGT season, filmed in Marrakech, Morocco, remains in limbo amid ongoing legal battles between Caroline Manzo and the network/production company, stemming from an alleged incident involving Brandi Glanville.
Shed Media, which produced Ultimate Girls Trip, is helming the Love Hotel series as well.
Over the years, Bravo viewers have watched the ups and downs of the romantic lives of de Lesseps, 59, Bryant, 53, Storms Beador, 60, and Darby, 36.
Each are currently single, though Darby and her estranged husband Michael Darby have yet to file for divorce since she announced their separation in April 2022.
Storms Beador filed for divorce from ex-husband David Beador in December 2017, and settled by April 2019. She next dated John Janssen for 3½ years, starting in summer 2019. He called off their romance in late 2022 and again in September 2023, after briefly reconciling, not long after her arrest for an alleged DUI and hit-and-run.
When RHONY premiered in March 2008, de Lesseps was married to first husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps, though the two divorced in 2009. She spent the next four years dating French wine distributor Jacques Azoulay before marrying Tom D'Agostino in 2016 in a lavish, three-day celebration in Palm Beach, Florida. Divorce would come just eight months later.
Bryant, meanwhile, has kept her relationships mostly off-screen. She was previously married to Jamal Bryant from 2002 to 2009. They tried dating after divorce, but it didn't last. The podcast host, who also runs an athleisure business with Darby, was been linked over the past few years to fellow Bravolebrity Jason Cameron, but has kept things casual between them.
All seasons of the Real Housewives and Ultimate Girls Trip can be streamed on Peacock.
'The Neighborhood' Season 7 - Also 1 Star Getting a Spinoff Series!
The Neighborhood is one of the biggest shows on TV, and it’s already spawned a spinoff!
The CBS television series is officially returning for Season 7, and there are several cast members expected to return for the seventh season.
CBS has announced that the show returns on October 21, airing on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET this fall.
The show centers around a friendly guy from the Midwest, who tries to fit in in a tough L.A. neighborhood.
Plus, we already know one star getting a spinoff series! Tracy Morgan’s “Crutch” is getting a spinoff series, called Crutch.
Crutch is set in the world of The Neighborhood. It follows titular character Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan) – or “Crutch” to those who know him well – a Harlem widower whose empty-nest plans are put on hold after his millennial son and free-spirited daughter move back home, via Deadline.
During Season 5 of The Neighborhood, Tracy guest starred in the episode “Welcome to Bro Money, Bro Problems” as Calvin’s (Cedric) rich younger brother, Curtis. It was thought to be an early spinoff concept at the time, but the project didn’t move forward. The new idea has a series order, features Tracy as a different character, Crutch, who is Calvin’s cousin.
“I’m excited to be expanding our The Neighborhood universe by producing a show with the legendary comedian Tracy Morgan,” Cedric The Entertainer said. “This new character is the close cousin to my character Calvin Butler, and you will enjoy some of their many similarities. Morgan plays Crutch, a ‘say-it-like-it-is’ widowed father who is challenged when his two adult children and a couple of grandchildren need to move back home, and let’s just say there will be several comedic complications.”
The two stars previously worked together on The Last O.G.

Elon Musk Retweets Digitally Altered and Misleading Kamala Harris Campaign Ad Resulting in Swift Backlash
Elon Musk, owner of Tesla, SpaceX and most relevantly the social media platform X (Formerly Twitter) faced instant backlash after retweeting an altered Kamala Harris campaign ad without labeling it as misleading. Full stop, how does the owner of one of the biggest social platforms just take part in clear violations of the platform’s own rules? Not to mention he has 191 million followers, the very thought of this level of misinformation is appalling.
Get this, the retweeted video used segments from a recent Harris campaign video but replaced the audio with a voiceover impersonating Harris, making controversial statements about President Joe Biden’s senility and referring to herself as an incompetent candidate. Feels like a parody, but so what, it’s ridiculous that he would retweet this and shows he and others have no bottom in the lengths they will go to help elect Donald Trump.
And onto the racism. The voiceover also described Harris as “the ultimate diversity hire” and accused her of “trying to sound Black.”
So you know the facts about the original campaign video, it featured Harris asking, “What kind of country do we want to live in?” before transitioning into Beyoncé’s song “Freedom.” The altered version omitted Beyoncé and included derogatory comments, which were widely condemned.
In response, Harris campaign spokesperson Mia Ehrenberg criticized Musk and former President Donald Trump, stating:
“We believe the American people want the real freedom, opportunity, and security Vice President Harris is offering; not the fake, manipulated lies of Elon Musk and Donald Trump.”
The insensitive and misleading video was initially posted by a YouTube account named “Mr Reagan,” labeled as a parody. However, it is unclear if the video utilized artificial intelligence. Alexios Mantzarlis, director of the Security, Trust, and Safety Initiative at Cornell Tech, suggested the altered content might be considered a deepfake, indicating a trend of using such deceptive tactics for trolling rather than legitimate misinformation.
Senator Amy Klobuchar accused Musk of violating X’s policy on misleading content, tweeting, “If @elonmusk and X let this go and don’t label it as altered AI content, they will not only be violating X’s own rules, they’ll be unleashing an entire election season of fake AI voice and image-altered content with no limits, regardless of party.”
X’s own hypocritical policy states that users may not share synthetic, manipulated, or out-of-context media intended to deceive or confuse people. Despite this, Musk’s retweet had garnered significant attention, with 119.9 million views as of Sunday afternoon.
Just tomfoolery by Elon Musk. Willing to bet if someone retweeted an altered Trump campaign Ad, he’d ban their account for life and hold a press conference stating misinformation will not be tolerated.

Serbia initially stunned the USA with a quick 10-2 lead, prompting coach Steve Kerr to call a timeout just 2:41 into the game. The tide turned when Durant, who had missed all five preparation games due to a calf strain, entered the game with 2:33 left in the first quarter. Durant’s presence ignited an 18-3 run for the USA, coinciding with Serbia’s Nikola Jokic heading to the bench.
Durant’s first-half performance was flawless, scoring 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting, including 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. LeBron complemented Durant’s efforts, scoring 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting and adding 5 assists and 3 rebounds. The USA led by nine points at halftime.

Coco Gauff Makes History as Youngest U.S. Woman to Win Olympic Singles Match
Tennis star, Olympian and Team USA flagbearer Coco Gauff defeated Argentina’s Maria Lourdes Carle on Monday morning. At 20 years old, Gauff is the youngest Olympian since Venus Williams in 2000 to win a singles match. This was the first professional match between Gauff and Lourdes, though they’ve faced each other twice in junior competition. Gauff dominated the hour and 25-minute match, securing a 6-1, 6-1 victory, and advancing to the round of 16.
Gauff is also competing in women’s and mixed doubles. As the world’s number two, she has entered Paris with significant expectations and has met them at every step. Snoop Dogg showed his support by wearing a shirt with Gauff’s name and picture during her match.
An unlikely source of confidence for Gauff came from Olympian sprinter Noah Lyles. Gauff revealed to ESPN that a conversation with Lyles in the dining room on Sunday morning gave her the boost she needed to make history.
“We were just talking about how when you get to moments like this, you’ve already done all the prep work, and at the end of the day, you’ve just got to be you,” Lyles told ESPN. “Honestly, it flipped a switch. He may have woken me up,” Gauff said. “He’s probably the most confident guy I’ve ever met in my life, honestly. Other than maybe Serena (Williams). So those two are probably the most confident people that just exude confidence.”
That’s exactly what Gauff has demonstrated so far at the Olympics. If a conversation with Lyles continues to inspire straight-set victories, Gauff will gladly keep chatting with him. In the round of 16, Gauff will face 13th seed Donna Vekic of Croatia for the first time, a worthy challenger that will test her resolve.

Top Catholic Official Sues Grindr for $5 Million Over Data Breach
Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill, a former top administrator for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), has filed a lawsuit against Grindr, claiming the dating app mishandled his personal data, leading to his public outing and resignation. Burrill, who had been using the queer dating app since 2017, alleges that Grindr failed to inform users that their data could be accessed by third-party vendors. This breach, he claims, led to significant damage to his reputation and career.
The controversy began in 2021 when the Catholic media site The Pillar reported on Burrill’s use of Grindr, leading to his resignation from the USCCB. The Pillar’s report, based on data showing Burrill’s visits to gay bars, sparked a national discussion about data privacy and the Church’s handling of such revelations. Burrill’s attorney, James Carr, argues that the data release was a severe violation of privacy, forcing Burrill’s personal life into the public eye.
Since the incident, Burrill has struggled with the fallout, facing shame and embarrassment. In June 2022, he was appointed parochial administrator of a parish in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He is seeking $5 million in damages.
