BeyoncĂ© Shows Off Her Healthy Hair, Takes Fans Through Her CĂCRED Wash Day
"The misconception is that people who wear wigs don't have long and healthy hair. That's some bullsh*t."
Following the February 2024 launch of her CĂCRED haircare brand, BeyoncĂ© is now giving fans a closer look into how well the products work for her personally. On Monday (April 22), the 42-year-old global superstar posted a new promotional clip on Instagram that takes viewers through her wash day while using CĂCRED products.
“Now that CĂCRED is known for its quality and what it does for your hair, I think it’s time to show y’all what it does for my hair… I’m really proud of the quality,” the “Crazy In Love” singer began in the video as she sat down in a salon chair to get her hair washed. She shouted out specific products like the hydrating shampoo, the rice and rose water ritual, the conditioner, and the moisture seal.
Bey also humorously clocked some of the haters who say wearing wigs automatically means one’s hair underneath can’t be healthy. “The stigma and misconception is that people who wear wigs don’t have long and healthy hair. That’s some bullsh*t,” she says. View the thoughtful clip down HERE
In the post’s caption, the mother of three emphasized how CĂCRED represents a connection between her career and haircare. Additionally, she explained how she has maintained her color-treated hair for many years.
“Being disruptive and challenging everything people feel should be the process has always been exciting to me. My hair and music seemed to do that a lot over the years…,” she wrote.
“Maintaining 25 years of blonde on natural hair through all the experimenting I do has played a huge part in developing @cecred’s products. It’s the hardest to keep color-treated hair healthy and strong, but @cecred is here. All quality, with NO shortcuts. Congratulations to the entire CĂCRED team for contributing to developing award-winning products.”
The debut eight-piece “foundation collection” dropped on Feb. 20, 2024, and included a clarifying shampoo scalp scrub, hydrating shampoo, moisturizing deep conditioner, a reconstructing treatment mask, a moisture-sealing lotion, a nourishing hair oil, and a fermented rice and rose protein ritual treatment. All products can be purchased on CĂCRED’s official site.
Fans were quick to hype up the new wash day routine video, as one of the top comments under the post read, “Auntie said not a track, lace front, or closure in sight! Stop playing with her!”
Another user chimed in, “I know that’s right Bey! What more can they say now???”
#BoxOfficeNews: 'Civil War' Maintains Box Office Lead On A Slow Movie Weekend
Alex Garland's dystopian thriller "Civil War" remains the top film in theaters in its second week of release, according to studio estimates Sunday, April 21. The A24-produced film, which cost a record $50 million for the indie studio, grossed $11.1 million in ticket sales at 3,929 theaters over the weekend.
Over two weeks, "Civil War" has accumulated a total of $44.9 million. Its provocative premise, along with A24's marketing campaign featuring images of war-ravaged American cities, has kept "Civil War" on the minds of moviegoers.
However, the weekend was slow overall, contributing to concerns about a down year for Hollywood at the box office. Year-to-date ticket sales are down nearly 20% compared to the same period last year, according to Comscore.
Universal Pictures' "Abigail", a critically acclaimed horror film about Dracula's daughter, was expected to lead ticket sales but came in second with $10.2 million at 3,384 theaters. Guy Ritchie's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" also struggled to make a mark, debuting with $9 million at 2,845 theaters.
Despite the tepid response to these new releases, horror films continue to struggle to generate consistent business at the box office. According to David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research, horror releases accounted for $2 billion in worldwide sales in 2023.
The mightiest film globally remains "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", which has led worldwide ticket sales for the past month. The Warner Bros. monster movie added $9.5 million domestically and $21.6 million internationally, bringing its four-week global total to $485.2 million.
Top 10 of North American Box Office (Apr. 19-21, 2024):
"Civil War" - $11.1 million
"Abigail" - $10.2 million
"Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" - $9.5 million
"The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" - $9 million
"Spy x Family Code: White" - $4.9 million
"Kung Fu Panda 4" - $4.6 million
"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" - $4.4 million
"Dune: Part Two" - $2.9 million
"Monkey Man" - $2.2 million
"The First Omen" - $1.7 million

USC cancels all commencement speakers after canceled valedictorian speech
Amid the decision to cancel this year's valedictorian speech, the University of Southern California announced it would be eliminating all outside speakers and honorees from its main-stage commencement taking place next month.
In a memo released on Friday, the university said, "To keep the focus on our graduates, we are redesigning the commencement program. Given the highly publicized circumstances surrounding our main-stage commencement program, university leadership has decided it is best to release our outside speakers and honorees from attending this year's ceremony."
Scheduled keynote speakers included USC alumnus filmmaker Jon M. Chu, director of "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Wicked." Sports icon Billie Jean King was also scheduled to speak.
Asna Tabassum, a first-generation South Asian-American Muslim, was scheduled to give a commencement speech on May 10. School administrators, however, decided to cancel her speech citing safety concerns.
USC said the decision was based on potential threats regarding the selection of the valedictorian.
"After careful consideration, we have decided that our student valedictorian will not deliver a speech at commencement," provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at USC, Andrew T. Guzman, said in a letter to students on Monday. "While this is disappointing, tradition must give way to safety."
The college senior spoke about the situation with ABC News Live's Phil Lipof on Wednesday.
"The valedictorian honor is ultimately a unifying honor, right? It's emblematic of USC's unifying values. And I think I take that to heart."
"I wanted my speech to be in the genre of a valedictory speech, and so that being said, I wanted to impart a message of hope. I also wanted to impart a message of responsibility," Tabassum said to Lipof.
USC -- which expects a crowd of 65,000 for the commencement festivities on May 10 -- said the focus of the ceremony should be "on the tremendous accomplishments of our 19,000-plus graduates, their friends, their families, and the staff and faculty who have been such a critical part of their journeys."
Jason Whitlock torched for saying no one recognizes Simone Biles in public
Ultra-right-wing conservative Jason Whitlock is getting eviscerated on social media for demeaning record-breaking gymnastics hero Simone Biles, telling his audience that she would not be recognized in public.
Biles, 27, the most decorated Olympic gymnast in U.S. history, opened up about her fears during the Toyko Olympics in 2021 that she would be banished from the country after her struggles during one event.
“America hates me. The world is going to hate me. I can only see what they’re saying on Twitter right now,’ she recalled feeling during her interview on the ‘Call My Daddy’ podcast.
“Usually if you go to the Olympics and flop or whatever it is, you get people on their couch eating those little chips. I thought I was going to be banned from America, ’cause that’s what they tell you: ‘Don’t come back if not gold. Gold or bust. Don’t come back.”
Whitlock, conversely, claims that Biles has an inflated sense of self-importance and cannot boast the type of nationwide fame and adoration accorded basketball superstar Caitlin Clark. Moreover, Whitlock believes that no one would recognize Biles in public.
“Simone Biles is pretending like she’s Caitlin Clark and that people actually know who she is. She’s built up this importance of herself and does things to make herself feel important.” Whitlock said on the ‘Extra Fearless’ podcast.
“She’s a gymnast and every four years they are relevant for a two or three-week stretch,” Whitlock continued. “But Simon Biles could walk by the overwhelming majority of people in an airport and they wouldn’t t
Jill Scott Called Chris Brown "Amazing," And Social Media Isn't Having It
Maybe you know Jill Scott. She's behind songs like "The Way" and "A Long Walk." She went viral a few years ago for an, um, trick with a microphone.
Well, she's currently under fire after tweeting support for Chris Brown.
Jill made the post shortly after Chris released a scathing diss track against Migos rapper Quavo, who's rumored to be dating Chris's ex, Karrueche Tran.
Chris dated Karrueche off and on for four years until 2015 when it was revealed that he'd impregnated another woman. Still, Chris seemed to have a hard time letting her go. He was recorded bothering Karrueche in public and begging for her to take him back. He's also targeted other men who have been linked to her since, including Omarion and Victor Cruz.
Karrueche filed a restraining order against Chris in 2017, accusing him of physical and verbal abuse during their relationship. She also said that he'd allegedly told friends he would kill her if he couldn't have her just that year. Chris denied the claims.
Karrueche was one of his first known girlfriends after Rihanna, whom Chris pleaded guilty to assaulting in 2009. He's continually been embroiled in various other legal issues since.
So, after the new song came out, Jill tweeted, "@chrisbrown is amazing. How does ANYBODY sing like THAT? Dance, look, Act and Rap… like THAT? Beyond gifted. It appears, exceptional people have to go through exceptional. There’s nothing to debate."
"I think the women he's abused would disagree," one user wrote back, echoing the sentiments of many others.
"I doubt it," Jill replied. "My Mother's ex-husband was a mean, violent human AND he could lay foundation better than anyone in my city. What he did with cement was awe inspiring. We got away. He got a raise and praise for his ability. God dealt with the rest."
Jill said she used this example to show that "even he had something to offer," like Chris, I guess. "He was sick/hurt and did cruel things," she wrote. "I forgave him because of his trauma. Did I forget? Never. So I try my best to choose better. I've failed a few times but not in that abusive area."
When another fan told her they just couldn't "look past" Chris's problematic history, Jill responded and said she's "not here to fight anymore else's battles." "If/since women hear the stories, they should avoid that street. Running backwards in moving traffic makes zero sense. Therapy for every damn body," she wrote.
"And I caution those who refuse to forgive because they will undoubtedly need forgiveness at some point in their lives," Jill added in a separate tweet. "We're all flawed and need help. Power to people who move past violence. The past is a terrible reminder AND the future is ours."
Jill also said that "years of prayer, therapy, self-reflection, & making every effort to keep [her] feet on the ground has made [her] compassionate for other human beings" and urged others to do the same. "People go through and do terrible. We say we believe in God ; pray for enlightenment. We ARE a living testimony," she concluded.
Her defense of Chris comes after Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks, and Ciara all shared support for him in recent months.
Halle Bailey Reveals She's Struggling With Postpartum Depression After Welcoming Baby
Halle Bailey is getting real about motherhood. The 24-year-old The Little Mermaid star got candid about her postpartum journey after welcoming son Halo in a Snapchat video shared on social media.
“I just wanted to speak a little bit about my postpartum journey as a new mom,” she said.
“I have severe, severe postpartum [depression], and I don’t know if any new moms can relate, but it’s to the point where it’s really bad, and it’s hard for me to be separated from my baby for more than 30 minutes at a time before I start to kind of freak out,” she continued.
“You all know that Halo has the most amazing daddy in the world,” she added, praising DDG.
“Moo Moo is just the perfect dad to him. He loves him so much; he’s so present. And I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have a baby with because of how present he is and how much he wants to be in his life, and how supportive he is of me and my ventures.”
“Halo is a miracle. He is perfect. He is beautiful. When I look at him, I cry because of how special he is. The only thing that’s been hard for me is feeling normal in my own body. I feel like a completely different person when I look in the mirror. I just feel like I’m in a whole new body, and I don’t know who I am,” Halle went on to say.
“Before I had a child and I would hear people talk about postpartum, it would kind of just go in one ear and out the other… I didn’t realize how serious of a thing it actually was,” she admitted.
“Now going through it, it feels like you’re swimming in this ocean that’s like the biggest waves you’ve ever felt, and you’re trying not to drown,” she added..
“It has nothing to do with my baby. It has everything to do with me and who I am right now. I guess today I was just triggered — especially [since] social media is just not a good thing to be on when you have postpartum — but I was just really triggered today, especially by seeing some of the things that have been said about me and my family, and the one that I love and the ones that I love.”
“It’s just, it’s honestly, it’s really, really crazy to me that people would feel the need to say such hurtful things. Normally, I’m OK. Like, normally, I’ll see it — and it will hurt my feelings — but I won’t say anything. I’m normally good with not saying anything. I just suck it up, swallow my pride and just wish that person well — whoever said something horrible about me and my family. I just wish them well. But today I couldn’t because it grows something in me to bring awareness tp. Even though you may look up to certain people and you think that they are celebrities, and they appear to have it all together, you never know what somebody else is going through, especially someone who just had a baby literally.”

Oprah Praises Alicia Keys’ 'Spectacular' Broadway Show “Hell's Kitchen ”After She Woke Up 'Humming the Songs'
The musical, which is loosely based on Keys' life and includes hits from the Grammy winner's catalogue, is now playing at the Shubert Theatre in New York City
The talk show giant on Sunday, April 21 shared to social media a loving message of support about the musical, which officially opened to rave reviews at the Shubert Theatre in New York City the day before.
"You know it’s a great show when you wake up the next morning humming the songs," wrote Oprah, 70, captioning a gallery of photos to Instagram from the opening celebrations including a shot of her posing at the afterparty with pals Michelle Obama and Gayle King, as well as Keys, Keys' mother Terria Joseph and Keys' husband Swizz Beatz.
She went on to tell Keys that she was "so proud and happy for you and what you so artfully accomplished with your new Broadway musical [Hell's Kitchen] — surrounded by a team of fantastics and a spectacular cast."
"Brava, Brava, my friend, many times over," Oprah wrote.
Hell's Kitchen tells an original story by Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz based on Keys' experiences of growing up in the New York City neighborhood of the same name.
The musical, according to its official logline, is set in the '90s and follows Ali, "a 17-year-old girl full of fire, searching for freedom, passion and her place in the world. Rebellious and stifled by an overprotective single mother, Ali is lost until she meets her mentor: a neighbor who opens her heart and mind to the power of the piano."
Keys, 43, penned new songs for the show, though some of the Grammy Award winner's greatest hits are included in the musical as well, including "Fallin'," "No One," "If I Ain't Got You," "You Don't Know My Name," "Teenage Love Affair," "Girl on Fire" and of course, "Empire State of Mind."
Back in February, Keys opened up to PEOPLE about the musical, explaining she had been working on it for the past 13 years and "can't even believe" it was finally coming to fruition.
"Ultimately it’s a love story between mother and daughter," she said. "It’s incredible. My mother left Toledo, Ohio, to come to NYU in New York City. She is the New York story, the one that came from wherever and chased the dream, which is what allowed me to be in New York City and grow up there and find a dream. So that’s really the concept of Hell’s Kitchen. To watch that come to life with my mother . . . is such a dream come true.”
Hell's Kitchen is playing an open run on Broadway. Direction comes from Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, Dear Evan Hansen), with choreography by Camille A. Brown.
Leading the cast is newcomer Maleah Joi Moon as Ali, alongside principal stars Shoshana Bean, Brandon Victor Dixon, Kecia Lewis and Chris Lee.
The rest of the cast features Chad Carstarphen, Reid Clarke, Chloe Davis, Nico DeJesus, Timothy L. Edwards, Desmond Sean Ellington, Badia Farha, Vanessa Ferguson, David Guzman, Gianna Harris, Jakeim Hart, Takia Hopson, Jackie Leon, Raechelle Manalo, Jade Milan, Onyxx Noel, Susan Oliveras, Sarah Parker, Aaron Nicholas Patterson, William Roberson, Niki Saludez, Nyseli Vega, Donna Vivino, Lamont Walker II, Rema Webb, and Oscar Whitney Jr.
Uncle Luke Wants to Unseat Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick in Miami
Luther Campbell, also known as Uncle Luke, is considering a challenge against Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick.
Newsweek reports that the Miami-based artist revealed his potential congressional run in a recent interview with The Bulwark, published on March 29.
The 2 Live Crew frontman will formally decide his candidacy by Florida’s April 26 qualifying deadline. He expressed his belief in having “the opportunity to bring something back to the community.”
“And I get to fight these mother*******,” Campbell, 63, told the publication, noting that he was referring to “Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump, and all these crazy-a** Republicans who want to divide us.”
Gaetz responded to Campbell’s remarks in a statement to Newsweek: “The last time Uncle Luke ran for office he came in fourth in a mayoral race. He did lame radio ads for the even lamer Phil Levine for Governor campaign too. He says he wants to fight me but I’ve won all my elections. Uncle Luke has Rep. Cherfilus-McCormick in an undercard bout before he’s even a contender.”

In a post to X (formerly Twitter), Gaetx wrote, “Oh hey, Uncle Luke!”
As Newsweek reports, Cherfilus-McCormick was elected in the 2022 special election to fill the late Congressman Alcee Hastings’ seat in Florida’s 20th Congressional District. Last year, Luke’s brother Stanley Campbell announced plans to run for Florida Senate.
According to TheMessenger, Campbell is a renowned rocket scientist, navy pilot, and golf course owner. In October 2023, he noted interest in challenging former U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel Powell for the Democratic nomination.
“Mr. Campbell’s personal story alone makes him one of the most compelling, formidable potential U.S. Senate candidates in the country,” said Kevin Cate, a top Florida Democratic strategist.
“If he’s able to complement that with good fundraising and organizing, all of the sudden Democrats might actually have a chance to take down Rick Scott,” Cate added.
The Cause of Death Has Been Revealed for Louis Gossett Jr.
*The cause of Louis Gossett Jr.’s passing has been disclosed.
The Hollywood icon, who passed away at the age of 87 in Santa Monica, Calif., on March 29, succumbed to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as indicated by his death certificate, PEOPLE reports.
We reported previously via CNN that Gossett became the first Black man to win an Oscar for a supporting role in 1983 for his work as the tough drill instructor, training a character played by Richard Gere, in “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
“Lou was a sweetheart. He took his job very seriously. He did his research. He stayed in character the whole time,” Gere said in a statement to CNN in March. “He was the drill sergeant 24 hours a day, and it showed clearly in his performance. He drove every scene he was in. A tough guy with a heart of gold.”
His family announced Gossett’s death in a statement on March 29.
“It is with our heartfelt regret that our beloved father passed away this morning. We would like to thank everyone for their condolences at this time. Please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time,” the family’s statement, shared by Gossett’s longtime publicist, read.
Per CNN, “Gossett played several historical figures, including Egyptian leader Anwar Sadat and baseball legend Satchel Paige in TV movies during the 1980s. Off-screen, Gossett helped found the Eracism Foundation in the 1990s, an organization committed to ending racism.”
Gossett’s most recent role was in 2023’s “The Color Purple” movie musical. His co-star, Colman Domingo, recently honored Louis in an essay for Variety.
“The first day that I met Mr. Gossett, I said ‘Thank you,’” wrote Domingo. Those were the words I wanted to say because I knew that there would be no me if there was no him. And other giants like him.”
Bunnie XO Says Jelly Roll Quit Social Media Due to Being Bullied About His Weight
Even hitmaking, award-winning celebrities can be hurt by relentless online bullies. Though singer-songwriter Jelly Roll has multiple No. 1 Country Airplay hits under his belt, sold-out arena shows, Grammy nominations, CMA Awards wins and is in the running for the coveted entertainer of the year accolade at May’s Academy of Country Music Awards, he, like many people, has been the target of online bullies.
In a TikTok video snippet highlighting the Wednesday (April 24) episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie XO, who is married to Jelly Roll, discussed the painful impact online bullying has had on her husband.
“My husband got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f–king weight,” she says in a TikTok clip shared Sunday (April 21). “And that makes me want to cry, because he is the sweetest angel baby. My husband doesn’t show it to you guys, but I’m going to have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.
“The internet can say whatever they f–king want about you and they say, ‘You’re a celebrity. You’re supposed to be able to handle it.’ No the f–k we’re not … Enough is enough,” she continued. “Don’t bully people, because you never know where they are mentally. There are a lot of people who are not as strong as me, that are on the internet and they don’t deserve to f–kin’ be bullied.”
Jelly Roll has also been open about his struggles with his weight, telling People that he has lost 70 pounds while training to participate in the upcoming 2 Bears 5K on May 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
The entrepreneur also called out internet trolls and bullies who try to intimidate her and her family. “I’m going to stand up for all the f–kin’ underdogs. You’re never going to bully me. You’re never going to lie about me or my family, and I will fight to the end,” she said in the TikTok clip. “I love it when people say, ‘Bunnie is a bad human. Just wait and you’ll see.’ I’ve been on the internet 15 f–kin’ years. When are they gonna see? I’m waiting. What you see is what you get with me. I don’t f–kin’ pretend to be something I’m not … all you gotta do is leave me and my family the f–k alone, and you won’t get called out.”
Brian McKnight's Son Exposes His Dirty Laundry After Singer Calls His Children 'Evil'
One of Brian McKnight's children is not going to stay silent amid his controversial comments about his own offspring. Niko McKnight, whom the singer shares with his ex-wife Julie, has clapped back at his father for calling him "evil."
Jumping into the comments of The Shade Room's post, Niko decided to expose his father's alleged dirty laundry. He alluded to his father's infidelity while he's in a relationship with a woman named Lisa.
"I'm evil???? That's wild. The guy who used to make me clean his used c*ndoms out his bathroom at 15 before Lisa got home is calling me evil. Fashoooooo," Niko wrote in a comment. In a separate comment, he added, "the guy who forged sigs [sic] on our names is calling us evil fashoooooooo."
Brian previously came under fire after he addressed a fan who supported his choice to publicly disown his biological children, citing concerns about the presence of "pure evil" among some relatives. Appreciating the fan's comment, he said, "I wanna big up my man right here. He gets it."
"In order to live a life that you love, you have to get rid of the evil and the negativity - even if that evil and negativity is related [to you]," he added. Another person disagreed, noting, "The same God that said 'honor your father & mother' also said 'Children are a gift from the Lord; they are reward from him. … Your children are a reflection of the work & prayers & spirituality & moral compass that PARENTS POUR INTO KIDS. You disowned kids that you created & you are also against God but judgment day is between you & your maker so #carryon."
To the criticism, the "Back at One" hitmaker responded, "1. God wasn't talking about children that are the product of sin which these are. 2. I didn't raise them their mothers did. 3. Know the whole story before quoting the Bible. 4. Take your inaccurate negativity off of my page and try being happy."
Unlike her son Niko, Brian's ex Julie McKnight managed to keep her cool. In a video, Julie, who also shares Brian Jr. with the singer, said, "The point of every negative situation, whether it's an illness whether it's a fool that you have to deal with because they keep entering your life when you are no longer giving any more energy to it, is to only keep you down to where they thought they had you because they were the author of an extremely abusive situation emotionally, mentally.
"And they're no good at not being the center of attention anymore. So when everybody pulls that away, it's like a kid without candy who throws a tantrum...," she continued. Julie also said she loves her sons Brian Jr. and Niko and that she's "so proud" to have raised them "predominantly on my own" with the help of her friends, family and community.
Brian also has a biological daughter named Briana from relationship with his ex Patricia Driver and a son named Clyde with a woman whose identity remains unknown.
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL!!!
