#RHOA: ‘Married to Medicine’ stars Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Phaedra Parks ‘feeling each other out’ after ‘RHOA’ alum joins cast
Dr. Heavenly Kimes and Phaedra Parks were “feeling each other out” after the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum joined the cast of “Married to Medicine.”
“I’m a fan of Phaedra, so I was kind of excited for her to come in. I love Phaedra. And she came in — she’s sweet as pie,” the renowned dentist tells Page Six exclusively.

Kimes, 52, teases that Parks, 49, will bring her notable shade to the Bravo reality show.
“Phaedra’s different,” she tells us. “She does s–t I ain’t never thought to do. It’s like … it be throwing me for a whim. It ain’t like me, direct. It’s subtle.

“To me, it’s funny ’cause I think she don’t give a damn and she playing with y’all.”
However, Kimes — who joined “Married to Medicine” during Season 2 in 2014 — shares that she and Parks ultimately ended things on a good note.

“I see her. … We kind of feeling each other out,” she says. “You could tell she was a little intimidated when she came on with me, and I’m like, I don’t want nothing, and she ain’t want nothing. We kind of hit it off. We’re good.”
Although the Smiles by Dr. Heavenly founder was in a good place with the attorney, she tells Page Six that fans are going to be “shocked” to see what goes down on Season 10.

“It’s unlikely the things that are going to go on,” she says.
Rumors began swirling in January that Parks was joining “Married to Medicine.” Producer Carlos King said at the time that the mom of two met the criteria for the series because she was dating an unidentified doctor.

Bravo finally confirmed Parks’ casting in September.
Parks first joined the Bravoverse on Season 3 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in 2010.
However, the mortician left the reality show in 2017.

Season 10 of “Married to Medicine” premieres Sunday, Nov. 5, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

#MusicNews: Musical Icon Smokey Robinson Cruises Through Motown And Modern Hits In his ‘Tiny Desk’ Performance

Smokey Robinson can still charm a room at 83 years old. The Motown pioneer is the latest artist tapped for a Tiny Desk performance, and he did not disappoint whatsoever.

He started his 30-minute set with 1981’s “Being With You,” as a nod to his timeless, sensual sound. He dazzled viewers, both in-person and virtually, with his chilling falsetto as he went into his Miracles catalog and performed “The Tears Of A Clown” or as he put it, “the one I wrote with Stevie Wonder.”

The innate romantic showcased how age isn’t anything beyond a social construct as he performed “Beside You,” which he dedicated to the ladies, and “If We Don’t Have Each Other,” from his recent album, Gasms.

The latter is the album’s lead single, which debuted in April 2023. When speaking on why he chose to tease the highly-anticipated LP with that record, Robinson explained, “I chose this song as the first single of my new album because it’s different musically and has a slide dance feeling to it… which is different from what I’ve ever done before. It also has a current rhythm of today that I love, and I hope everyone else does too.”
During his Tiny Desk set, the saxophone solo at the hands of Brandon Wright particularly enthralled the audience. His band briefly flaunted their collective skills during the lively rendition of “Quiet Storm” in its nearly-eight minute entirety before Robinson concluded with the ever-timeless “Cruisin’.”

“We’ve been looking forward to playing the Tiny Desk for a long time,” he stated prior to “cruising on outta there.” As the record began to peak to its gasm, the crowd joined in so everyone could “cruise together.”

#HipHopNews: Megan Thee Stallion Says She's Currently Funding Her Own Music Career: 'Budget Is Coming from Me'
"We’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion pockets," the rapper said, revealing she's no longer signed to a record label
In an Instagram Live video from Oct. 11 posted by producer Max Julian that's since been shared to X (formerly known as Twitter), the rapper, 28, revealed she is financing her next project herself and isn't currently signed to a record label.

“I have no label right now. We’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion pockets. So, the budget is coming from me. Motherf---ing hot girl productions" she said in the video, accompanied by who appears to be Julian alongside her.
She added, "We in my pockets, hotties, so let's do our big one!"

The "Savage" musician also said she isn't looking for a label right now.
“I’m so excited to be doing something for the first time independent since it was just me and my mama. So excited cause it’s really just me this go 'round until we sign to a new label, but I don’t wanna sign to a new label right now because I just wanna do it myself," she added, as her collaborator exclaims "hot girl productions" in the background.

She also accused her former record label 1501 Certified Entertainment of sabotaging the promotion of her 2022 album Traumazine, following her years' long public dispute with the company. The musician, whose real name is Megan Pete, was granted a temporary restraining order against the label and her distributor, 300 Entertainment, after they allegedly tried to block the American Music Awards from using her song "Her" to promote the show.

“My label already told me. They was like, 'Bitch, ‘Traumazine’ going to hell,'" she joked in the video.
Representatives for Megan Thee Stallion, 1501 Entertainment and 300 Entertainment did not reply to requests for comment.

Megan has been locked in legal battle with 1501 for years; in August 2022, she sought $1 million in relief from the label after alleging that her last two albums fulfilled the requirements of her "unconscionable" contract, and in 2020, she filed a lawsuit claiming 1501 was stopping her from releasing new music after she tried to renegotiate her contract.
Last month, Megan released "Bongos" with Cardi B, their first collaboration since 2020's "WAP."

Halle Bailey Sports Apparent Baby Bump On A Stroll With DDG Amid Pregnancy Rumors

Halle Bailey continues to fuel her pregnancy rumors with her latest outing. While she remains mum amid the mounting speculation that she's eating for two, the singer/actress has been spotted with an apparent baby bump while stepping out with her boyfriend DDG.
In new photos obtained by The Shade Room, the 23-year-old was strolling in Santa Monica, California with the rapper. She seemingly tried to conceal her round belly by dressing in multiple layers, including a red T-shirt underneath an oversized, dark hoodie, despite the warm weather.

"The Little Mermaid (2023)" star completed the outfit with gray sweatpants and slippers. She also carried a large black bag and was at one point seen talking to someone on the phone. Looking radiant, she flashed a smile after seemingly noticing the paparazzi.
The "Angel" songstress later entered a building headed towards a meeting, while DDG drove off in a Rolls Royce. The YouTuber opted for an all-black look in a T-shirt, baggy pants and shoes. He accessorized with a necklace while sporting a bandage on one of his arms.

After seeing the pictures, fans are more convinced that Halle is expecting her first child. "It doesn't get much more pregnant than this," one social media user commented. Another wrote, "I can't imagine having to hide such a joyous time in your life and relationship smh I hate that for her!!! We coulda all be celebrating!!!"
Someone else, meanwhile, asked for a clarification from the star as imploring, "@hallebailey can we please just get put in the group chat for one day. Are you having a baby mermaid? Or they photoshopped you? We won't judge!"

Halle has been rumored to be pregnant since August after she was spotted walking in the background with what appeared to be a baby bump during her boyfriend DDG's live stream. The speculation was reignited last month following Halle's appearance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

The one-half of Chloe x Halle, who was on hand as presenter along with her sister Chloe Bailey, reportedly "stayed away from the pink carpet so she would not be photographed." An insider told Page Six that "when she was inside, she was very mindful in the way she gave hugs, and who she gave them to."
The actress/singer also opted for a long, flowing orange dress while introducing a performance by Maneskin on stage. A source said of her look at the event, "The orange dress flow was an indicator she was trying to hide."

In late September, Halle debuted her transformation in Instagram photos, which fans believed contained a clue to her alleged pregnancy. After observing her facial features, one person wrote, "Ok I love you Halle but is it me or is her nose spreading? If you are pregnant please embrace it it's a beautiful thing!"

Another weighed in, "No, it's not you, I see it too, congrats to her!" A third insinuated, "That nose doing what noses do when …" Another claimed, "That is the first thing I noticed! She is hiding the belly, baby that nose is," while a fifth follower asked, "Is that nose rounding?"

DC Young Fly Reveals That His Sister Tragically Passed Away
DC Young Fly revealed that his sister passed away earlier this month. He announced the tragic news via his Instagram account in a heartfelt message.
“In a matter of a year, I lost three people: My [cousin] last August, my girl in May, and my sister a couple [of] days ago. [You just] gotta stick through the mission knowin’ that GOD got [you] and he will grant you the strength,” the comedian and actor shared. “Remember he parted the Red Sea, not make it disappear… The problems are still there. He [just] allowed [you] to get through it. Make sure [you] stay righteous [and] don’t hold no grudge because GOD is love, and love will always overcome adversity.”

In the comment section, Desi Banks, Pretty Vee, Bun B, DJ Premier, and B. Simone were among the many to share their condolences and prayers.

In May, DC Young Fly’s longtime partner, Ms. Jacky Oh, passed away at 32. According to a report from the Miami-Dade County medical examiner, the cause of death was revealed to be complications of cosmetic surgery.
She died a day after undergoing a gluteal augmentation procedure called a butt lift. Per a document obtained by USA Today, the reality star “completed the procedure without complications.” Post-surgery, she was prescribed ciprofloxacin, which is an antibiotic for pain relief, oxycodone for pain relief, and ondansetron to prevent nausea.

Tragically, on the evening of her death, the mother of three “began to feel like her head was burning” and started to have difficulty speaking, the publication noted. Jacky Oh was later pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
In June, DC Young Fly posted a tribute to her on Instagram. He wrote, “Sent you off the right way, Mama. Love you forever. The kids gon’ be straight, and you know God got us.”

We would like to send our thoughts and prayers out to Young Fly and his family at this time.

Tyler Perry Making New Home For 93-Year-Old Grandmother Who Is Pushed Out By Developers

Tyler Perry reportedly is making a new home for a grandmother. A few months after offering help to a woman named Josephine Wright, the "Don't Look Up" actor is stepping up to build a new property for the 93-year-old woman, who was pushed out of her house in South Carolina by developers.

Speaking to TMZ on Monday, October 16, a number of sources with direct knowledge revealed that the filmmaker is building Josephine a home in South Carolina, which will feature 5 bedrooms, "to replace the one she's living in with her grandkids." The sources went on to spill that a "construction crew will break ground on the home in the coming weeks" after all the permits are being taken care of. According to the outlet, her current home is also "at the center of a bitter land dispute."

Tyler's sweet gesture came a few months after it was reported that Josephine is in a battle with developers to fight for her home. In May, Josephine spoke to local news outlet WSAV about the harassment she received from the developers in an attempt to make her sell her property. She reportedly had refused to sell her home to the Bailey Point Investment Group, prompting them to file a "frivolous lawsuit" against her.

The outlet also revealed that Josephine's home "has been in the family since just after the Civil War" and her family "has ties" to the war. Josephine, who is "a grandmother to 40, great-grandmother to 50, and great-great-grandmother to 16," also told the outlet about the reason why she wants to fight for the property. "This house means it's a home, a place where I want to be at this age," she stated.

A few months later, Tyler stepped in and offered help to Josephine. On June 27, he penned in an Instagram post, " 'I've pretty much been a fighter all my life' said 93 year old Josephine Wright. Well, that makes two of us. Ms. Wright, please tell where to show up and what you need to help you fight." Along with it, the actor/director uploaded a video documenting Josephine's current home.

Oprah Winfrey says Mitt Romney’s Claim that She Asked to Join Him on a Unity Presidential Ticket is a LIE!
Oprah Winfrey is pushing back on a claim made by Sen. Mitt Romney in a new biography.
A spokesperson for Winfrey tells The Hollywood Reporter that, despite a claim in a new book, Winfrey was never considering a run for president in 2020 and did not ask Romney to join her on a ticket.

“In November 2019, Ms. Winfrey called Senator Romney to encourage him to run on an Independent ticket,” the spokesperson says. “She was not calling to be part of the ticket and was never considering running herself.”
Romney, a Republican from Utah, recalls receiving a call from the media mogul, who is a Democrat, claiming that they should form a unity ticket “to save the country.”

Axios first reported on the excerpt from the book Monday.

Winfrey is no stranger to politics, of course. She is a close friend of Barack and Michelle Obama, and not only endorsed the former president but has interviewed each of them a number of times, including a special for Netflix earlier this year.

Winfrey also weighed in on the Pennsylvania Senate race in 2020, endorsing John Fetterman over his opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, a man whom Winfrey helped make a household name thanks to frequent appearances on her daytime talk show, and the subsequent launch of his own eponymous program.

And while Winfrey has been rumored to have considered a run for office in the past, Romney’s claim made news because it suggested that her desire was more serious than previously thought.
The new statement seems to pour cold water on that idea.

Pink Denies Israeli Flags Flown at Concerts After Hamas Attacks

“I am deeply saddened by the state of the world. I pray for all of us,” the pop sensation said on her X account.
The pop singer Pink (aka Alecia Moore) has denied Israeli flags have flown at her rock concerts after southern Israel came under attack 10 days ago from the Hamas terrorist organization.

“This post will be controversial for some. At this point, breathing is controversial. I am getting many threats because people mistakenly believe I am flying Israeli flags in my show. I am not,” Pink said on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday.

The pop star went on to say she has been flying Poi flags on her current tour, or flags traditionally used as a symbol of peace by New Zealand’s Maori people. “These were used many, many years ago by the Maori people in New Zealand and because they and the Maori people are beautiful to me, we use them. I do not fly flags in my show in support of anything or anyone except the rainbow flag. That will remain my position,” Pink added in her post.

She pleaded for understanding after coming under threat from social media trolls. “I am a human. I believe in peace. Equality. Love. I am deeply saddened by the state of the world. I pray for all of us,” Pink added.
The Hamas attacks 10 days ago led to the deaths of around 1,300 Israelis, most of whom are civilians, and have been followed by Israel declaring formal war on Hamas in Gaza and around 2,750 Palestinians having since lost their lives in an unfolding conflict, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

Celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gal Gadot, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler and others have taken to social media to share their support for Israel after the terrorist group Hamas launched deadly land and air strikes on the country.

Elsewhere, the half-Palestinian supermodel Gigi Hadid took to Instagram to condemn the “terrorizing of innocent people” after the Hamas attacks and retaliation by Israel in Gaza as she reiterated her longstanding support for the Palestinian cause

Shannon Sharpe Responds After His ‘First Take’ Makeup Mishap
Shannon Sharpe, who often goes viral for his infamous sports takes, is getting roasted by many people on social media for his makeup on Monday's episode of ESPN's First Take.
A popular parody account dedicated to Shannon took to Twitter to claim Sharpe's heavy makeup had him looking like Randy Jackson, while another user compared his appearance to Little Richard.

After catching wind of the discourse, Shannon hopped on Twitter to clarify why his makeup appeared to be a little overboard on Monday's episode. According to Sharpe, it was the makeup artist's first time working with him, though he did admit "it was a little heavy."

"Appreciate the concern over my makeup this morning on @FirstTake," he wrote. "This was her 1st time doing my makeup and it was a little heavy. My appearance is important [but] not as important as my takes. Hopefully, the takes were gr8 as usual #LipSparringChamp #BestDressed."

When a user said "that girl is finished," Sharpe shut them down, writing, "No she isn’t. She’ll get better with my makeup. Isn’t the end of the world."
After spending nearly seven years on FS1's Undisputed—which he hosted alongside Skip Bayless since the show's launch in 2016—Sharpe left the network for ESPN, where he now appears on First Take on Mondays and Tuesdays.
During a recent appearance on Joe Budden's podcast, Sharpe's new co-host on First Take, Stephen A. Smith, claimed Sharpe was pushed out of his role on Undipusted due to tensions with Skip Bayless, which Sharpe previously shed light on last month.

"He was pushed out," Smith said. "He didn't want to leave. He was notified that [his] services would no longer be needed."

'X-Men' Director Claims Halle Berry was Misled About the Scope of Her Role in Third Movie

Halle Berry was reportedly misled about the scope of her role within 2006′s X-Men: The Last Stand, according to director Matthew Vaughn.
The 57-year-old actress brought the weather-controlling mutant Storm to life in four movies with the X-Men franchise, starting in 2000 and ending with 2014′s Days of Future Past.

The Last Stand was directed by Brett Ratner after Matthew dropped out of the role. During a recent appearance, he opened up about his decision to give up the job.
While attending New York Comic Con over the weekend, Matthew recounted a story about how an executive was trying to lie to Halle to entice her to return for the movie.

“One of the main reasons I quit X-Men 3, and this is a true story. Hollywood is really political and odd,” he recalled, according to ScreenRant “I went to an executive’s office and I saw an X3 script. It was a lot fatter. I asked, ‘What is this draft?’ They were like, ‘Don’t worry about it.’”

Matthew said that he “grabbed it and opened the first page” where he noticed something was wrong.

“It said, ‘Africa. Kids dying from no water, and Storm creates a thunderstorm to save all these children.’ I thought it was a pretty cool idea. I said, ‘What is this?’ They said, ‘This is the Halle Berry script because she hasn’t signed on yet. This is what she wants it to be. And once she signs on, we’ll throw it in the bin.’ I thought, if you’re going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress who plays Storm, I quit. I thought I’m mincemeat,” he explained.
In 2015 Halle expressed interest in reprising the role of Storm. The actress drew comparisons to the iconic character on the red carpet last year.

President Joe Biden Will Visit Israel in High-stakes Trip
President Joe Biden will make an extraordinary wartime visit to Israel this week as he seeks to demonstrate staunch support for the country as it works to eliminate Hamas while also pressing for ways to ease humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
The dueling objectives, spelled out by his top diplomat Monday evening, bring with them significant risks for the president as he works to prevent the crisis in the Middle East from widening.

Aides said Biden had expressed a strong interest in making the journey after being invited over the weekend by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Biden has known for four decades. He spent Monday deliberating over the trip at the White House with his top national security and intelligence advisers.

Meanwhile, in Tel Aviv, Secretary of State Antony Blinken was convening a marathon session with top Israeli officials to discuss opening Gaza to humanitarian aid and preventing civilians from getting caught up in Israel’s response to the terror attacks.
In announcing Biden’s Wednesday trip after more than seven hours of negotiations, Blinken said that the United States and Israel “have agreed to develop a plan that will enable humanitarian aid from donor nations and multilateral organizations to reach civilians in Gaza.”
The US president will also travel to Jordan, where he will meet with King Abdullah II, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The top US diplomat in recent days met separately with the three leaders – all of whom have condemned the situation in Gaza.

The security risks of a diplomatic visit to Israel were starkly illustrated Monday when Blinken, in his meeting with Netanyahu, was forced to shelter in place after air sirens warned of incoming rockets. White House officials said they’d carefully weighed the risks of a presidential visit, and deemed it safe enough both to execute and announce ahead of time.
The president’s visit will build on Blinken’s seven-nation, multi-day tour of the Middle East, which comes as the US tries to strike a delicate balance of providing unwavering support for Israel’s military operations while mitigating the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and stopping the war from spreading to further fronts.

Biden will “make it clear that we want to continue to work with all our partners in the region, including Israel, to get humanitarian assistance and again to provide some sort of safe passage for civilians to get out,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday evening.

It wasn’t clear ahead of Biden’s visit whether any progress had been made on the opening of the Rafah crossing in Egypt – the only viable route to access Gaza. Blinken said the agreement to work on the plan was done at the US’ request, and they “welcome the government of Israel’s commitment to work on this plan.”

“It is critical that aid begin flowing into Gaza as soon as possible,” Blinken said, noting that the US shares “Israel’s concern that Hamas may seize or destroy aid entering Gaza or otherwise preventing it from reaching the people who need it.”
“If Hamas in any way blocks humanitarian assistance from reaching civilians, including by seizing the aid itself, we’ll be the first to condemn it. And we will work to prevent it from happening again,” he said.

Biden, he said, “very much looks forward to discussing it further” during his visit.

Issa Rae Launches Her Own Prosecco Brand

Issa Rae announces the launch of Viarae, a fresh Prosecco brand developed in collaboration with E. & J. Gallo Winery.
According to a press release, Prosecco was a logical selection for the actress’s inaugural venture into wine. It not only happens to be her preferred drink but also served as the signature beverage for her character on HBO’s “Insecure,” the highly acclaimed series she co-created, starred in, and produced over five seasons. Rae and E. & J. Gallo emphasize the idea behind the wine is to commemorate fun moments with wonderful friends, regardless of the occasion.

“I am thrilled to share my love of Prosecco with everyone through Viarae. It’s carefully crafted, deliciously crisp, and the perfect beverage to deliberate La Dolce Vita,” Rae says.
With Viarae Prosecco, Rae aims to shine a spotlight on representation within the dynamic community of Black women in the wine industry. This dedication is evident in the sparkling wine’s packaging, featuring a combination of gold and brown colors.

“We are excited to partner with Issa Rae, who entrusted us with executing her vision of the perfect Prosecco. One that shares our desire to serve joy in everyday moments. Crisp, lively, and expressive, this is a perfect choice for those candid, unfiltered times with friends, whether that’s a sunny day by the pool or in the bright city lights at night ” Beth Orozco, vice president of marketing for E. & J. Gallo Winery, says. “Issa also shares our mission to demystify wine and make it more inclusive. Viarae will help us reach that goal.”

The Prosecco, which the brand describes as offering a crisp and vibrant twist on the traditional sparkling wine, will be available nationwide through specific retailers and on-premise venues later this month.
