#MAGFAB: Winnie Harlow Is Primordial Earth Goddess by Daniella Midenge for Women's Health

Sharing these fabulous images of Winnie Harlow lensed by Daniella Midenge [IG] at California’s Joshua Tree National Park, Winnie is just the most beautiful, articulate, focused and inspiring warrior-woman, love goddess on our precious Earth.

It’s a challenge to do her justice with words, although Jeannine Amber does a great job of explaining Winnie’s impact on the general population in her Women’s Health April 2023 interview Winnie Harlow Wants To Be More Than Just Your Role Model. Amber and Winnie go deep into how she maintains her extraordinal physique and warm spirit.

Between Daniella’s unique persona as a photographer/model and Winnie in all her glory, we’re damn lucky this duo and their team didn’t cause a major earthquake in the desert.

Actually, Joshua Tree National Park is located in Southern California, along the boundary of two distinct deserts: the Mojave and Colorado Deserts. And there are small earthquakes all day long. The San Andreas Fault lies just south of Joshua Tree, which is a time bomb always ready to go off.

I hope Winnie won’t be cross with me for saying this, but when I saw her images — and the one below in particular — I thought they were primordial. We know that humans lived in Joshua well over 15,000 years ago — a group of hunter-gathers known as the Pinto Culture.  The park's oldest rocks, Pinto Gneiss among them, are 1.7 billion years old.

A Priomordial Beauty

Standing in Joshua Tree in all her naked and timeless beauty, she absolutely is a woman “comfortable in her own skin”.

Winnie didn’t choose to become a front-line fighter for body confidence and beauty inclusion connected to her being the world-famous model with vitiligo. The autoimmune condition that causes patches of depigmented skin chose her.

It’s an indisputable fact that her endearing confidence about herself and her body is infectious. Winnie has helped enormously other people experiencing vitiligo and a host of other conditions that can prompt societal bullying and a loss of confidence causing one to shy away from the world.

Winnie runs towards life, not away from it.

Just don’t describe Winnie Harlow as enduring some kind of burden with her vitiligo — the kind of weight on her spirit that reduces her in any way.  As the expression goes “She will let you have it!”

#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Is Officially a Tony and Emmy Award Nominee

Kandi Burruss is a Grammy Award winner, a celebrated producer, the owner of two popular Atlanta restaurants, and a 14-year cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta — and now she’s adding even more honors to her résumé.

On Monday, May 1, Kandi announced that she has been nominated for a Southeast Emmy Award in the “Historic/Cultural/Politics/Government/Societal Concerns” category for her work in La Musica de La Familia.

“It’s a project that I never even told anybody I was involved in,” Kandi said on Instagram about the Emmy nomination (see her full reaction to the exciting news by scrolling below). “Hopefully I will have another moment like this tomorrow, as they announce the Tony nominations tomorrow.”

Kandi did indeed have “another moment like this.” The day after she received her Southeast Emmy nod, the Xscape songstress and her husband, Todd Tucker, shared the exciting news that the Broadway show they produced, The Piano Lesson, received a nomination in the “Best Revival of a Play” category for the upcoming 76th annual Tony Awards.

“Wow we are Tony Award nominated Producers! [Kandi] you[’re] on your way to that EGOT,” Todd wrote. “What a great week[.] Emmy nomination and a Tony nomination!”

In addition to the couple’s Tony nomination, The Piano Lesson was recognized in three separate categories for the upcoming Drama League Awards, and in five for the Drama Desk Awards.

Back in January, while The Piano Lesson was still a few weeks away from finishing its run, Kandi and Todd learned that it had become the “highest grossing August Wilson play” in history.

“[D]ream coming true,” Kandi noted on Instagram about the accomplishment.

She also commented on the Tony nod on her Instagram, writing, “Y’all I’ve been screaming [and] praising God all morning! Wow! Just wow! We got the Tony nomination yall! I’ve been praying for this. To share this moment with my husband is just awesome. [Brian Moreland]!!!!!!! You’re the man! Sonia Friedman [and] Tom Kirdhay let’s go! And to [LaTanya Richardson Jackson] I absolutely love you! Thanks so much for everything! Congratulations [Samuel L. Jackson] on your nomination! To our whole [The Piano Lesson] family I love y’all! Let’s take it all the way home!”

The Old Lady Gang owner will have to wait until the Tony and Southeast Emmy Awards happen to find out if she’s any closer to achieving a different dream of hers: obtaining EGOT status.

In the meantime, Kandi will soon be back on Bravo screens when RHOA returns for Season 15 on Sunday, May 7, at 8/7c.

Texas manhunt suspect caught hiding in closet under laundry.

Francisco Oropesa, the man at the center of an urgent manhunt who is accused of killing five people, has been captured, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Texas confirmed.

Oropesa was taken into custody Tuesday night in Montgomery County without incident. Investigators reported finding Oropesa in a closet underneath some laundry.

The FBI said they received a “one-time random tip” from someone with “courage and bravery” on Oropesa’s whereabouts at 5:15 p.m. U.S. Marshals, Texas DPS and Border Patrol’s BORTAC team responded to the home and arrested Oropesa at 6:30 p.m.

San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers announced that Oropesa, who he called a “coward,” has been charged with five counts of murder and will be held in San Jacinto County on a $5 million bond. Capers says Oropesa is uninjured.

Oropesa, 38, fled Cleveland, Texas, after allegedly shooting and killing five of his neighbors, including a 9-year-old boy, Friday evening after one of his neighbors asked him to stop firing off his gun in his yard.

The victims were between the ages of 9 and 31 years old and all were believed to be from Honduras. All were shot “from the neck up,” San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said.

The victims were identified as Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25; Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21; Julisa Molina Rivera, 31; Jose Jonathan Casarez, 18; and Daniel Enrique Laso, 9.

Expert: Lori Vallow’s hair found on tape stuck to her son’s body

Capers said there were 10 people in the house — some of whom had just moved there earlier in the week — but that no one else was injured. He said two of the victims were found in a bedroom laying over two children in an apparent attempt to shield them.

A total of three children found covered in blood in the home were taken to a hospital but found to be uninjured, Capers said.

Tuesday evening, Capers shared a message with surviving loved ones of the victims: “They can rest easy now because he is behind bars and he will live out his life behind bars.”

The deadly shooting sparked a manhunt that included more than 200 law enforcement officers from multiple jurisdictions. The FBI received tips from across the country in states like Wyoming, Florida and Maryland.

“This is basically what we do. We show up, we bring the adequate resources and we don’t let up,” FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul said Tuesday. “We’ve always said it’s not a matter of if, but a matter of when the suspect’s going to be caught. We’re extremely glad that today was the when.”

Neighbors of the victims recently said the kind of reckless behavior like the shooting happens all the time and they don’t feel safe.

“You’ll hear full automatics all day long. It’s nothing new,” neighbor Dale Tiller said. “You would think in a small rural country town, ‘How could it be like that?’ It’s 100% like that.”

The Associated Press reported that one of the survivors called 911 at least five times to try to get law enforcement officers to the scene to stop Oropesa from shooting around before he even allegedly turned the gun on his neighbors. Law enforcement officers would not comment on the shooting response at a news conference Tuesday evening.

7 bodies found during search for missing Oklahoma teens

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to NewsNation that Oropesa, a Mexican native, has been deported four different times between 2009 and 2016. However, Oropesa has had no other encounters with law enforcement since his previous deportation in 2016.

“We actually filed charges on him in 2022. To the best of my knowledge, we got a warrant for him and the constable went to serve him in another county because he left here and never could make contact with the subject. Then a few days later, the victim went to the district attorney’s office in our county and filed a nonprosecution statement,” Capers said Tuesday.

Questions were raised about how someone like Oropesa, who has had multiple deportations and a criminal history, could have access to violent weapons like guns.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said both Oropesa and the victims were living in the country illegally. The governor has also directed law enforcement along the border to be on the lookout in case Oropesa tries to flee the country.

However, the Republican governor faced backlash over drawing attention to the victims’ immigration status.

The state of Texas was offering a $50,000 reward for the apprehension of the suspect. Sheriff Capers said the reward money will be going to the person who called in the tip that led to the capture of Oropesa.

Ed Sheeran Threatens To Quit Music If He Loses Copyright Trial

Ed Sheeran may be done with music if he loses his copyright trial. The singer-songwriter is currently being sued for alleged copyright infringement over his 2014 hit “Thinking Out Loud.” The heirs of Ed Townsend, one of the co-writers on Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On,” have accused him of plagiarizing elements of the 1973 soul classic for his Grammy-winning single.

Taking the stand in Manhattan federal court on Monday, Sheeran denied claims he infringed upon the song and even threatened to quit music if found guilty.

“If that happens, I’m done, I’m stopping,” Sheeran said while addressing the toll the trial has taken on him (via Daily Mail).

“I find it really insulting to devote my whole life to being a performer and a songwriter and have someone diminish it,” he added.

Sheeran is being sued by Townsend’s heirs, who claim “Thinking Out Loud” bears “striking similarities” and “overt common elements” to “Let’s Get It On.” They are seeking $100 million in damages.

Video footage played in the courtroom showed Sheeran mashing up the two songs during a show, which Townsend’s lawyer Ben Crump described as a “confession.”

“If I’d done what you’re accusing me of doing, I’d be an idiot to stand on stage in front of 20,000 people [and do that],” Sheeran said in response to the allegations. “It is my belief that most pop songs are built on building blocks that have been freely available for 100s of years.”

According to the Associated Press, Sheeran’s lawyer told the court that he and co-writer Amy Wadge “created this heartfelt song without copying ‘Let’s Get It On.'”

Sheeran is gearing up to release his new album Subtract on Friday. He has announced a series of intimate theater shows across North America amid his stadium tour, which kicks off May 6.

Cher Breaks Up With Rumored Fiance Alexander 'AE' Edwards

Cher has reportedly split from her rumoured fiance Alexander Edwards a.k.a. "AE". The "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer has been dating Alexander since November, but a source told TMZ on Monday, May 2, the couple ended their relationship "a couple of weeks ago," though a reason for the split was not disclosed.

TMZ also said an insider had told them the pair "were never even engaged, despite multiple reports to the contrary," adding they had just decided to "play into the speculation it was an engagement ring" AE had given the singer in December, which was worth a reported $250,000.

Cher said at the time that she wished she could show her late mother, Georgia Holt, the ring. The 76-year-old tweeted, "Woke up Min ago, and 1st thing... B4 I Opened my eyes, I Thought... I Need 2 Run To Moms and Show Her my ring."

Alexander gushed in March Cher was "amazing" with his son. The 37-year-old rapper has son Slash Electric, three, with his 39-year-old model ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, while Cher has kids Chaz Bono, 54, and 46-year-old Elijah Blue Allman. He told TMZ, "Chaz is my guy and Elijah, Chaz and Elijah are my guys."

When asked if Cher was a good stepmother to his son, he added, "She is amazing." And when quizzed about what made him fall in love with the singer and actress, he said, "Just Cher being Cher."

He also said he was focusing on raising his son now when asked if he wanted a kid with the singer. Referencing Amber's 10-year-old son who she had with her rapper ex-husband Wiz Khalifa, 35, he added, "You know right now I'm just focused on Slash, my son, and his brother Sebastian."

Rumours Cher and Alexander were engaged started on Christmas Day when Cher shared a photo of a diamond ring being held by Alexander alongside the caption, "THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER, A.E."

The singer has defended her and Alexander's age gap and relationship by insisting they love each other. Last year she said they "kiss like teenagers" and has declared, "Love doesn't know math, it sees."

She added in December, "On paper, it's kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great… and I think he's quite handsome". The couple first made headlines in November when they were photographed after a dinner date in Los Angeles holding hands.

Cher previously dated Tom Cruise, when they had a 16-year age gap. She has also been married twice, to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975 and Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979, and had son Chaz and Elijah with the late musicians respectively.

A$AP Rocky Apologizes to Fan He Jumped Over Before Met Gala

A$AP Rocky was making headlines before he even arrived to the Met Gala on Monday night (May 1). Hours before he appeared alongside Rihanna on the iconic red carpet of the prestigious event, the rapper chaotically made his way into New York City’s Carlyle Hotel to get ready.

In a viral clip circulating social media, the “Fashion Killa” star is seen jumping over a barricade at the hotel, pushing a young fan named Maddy in the process and knocking her glasses off. The fan then took to Twitter to share a shocked selfie, in which her hair is messy on one side and her glasses are crooked from the situation. “ASAP Rocky just literally jumped over me,” she captioned the post.

A$AP saw the tweet, and issued a sweet apology on Tuesday morning (May 2). “LOL MY FAULT $WEETHEART,” he wrote, also following Maddy on Twitter to soften the blow.

When A$AP arrived with RiRi at the Met Gala, they dropped jaws with their stunning looks. Paying homage to Karl Lagerfeld’s love of Scotland, Rocky wore a tartan kilt over his jeans, paired with sleek black sunglasses à la the late German fashion designer who was being honored at the event. The Barbados-born superstar, meanwhile, donned a gorgeous all-white Valentino wedding gown with a train, adorned with white roses — and revealing her baby bump.

Miguel A. Núñez Jr. Says ‘Juwanna Mann’ Sequel is in the Works

A sequel to the 2002 romantic comedy-drama Juwanna Mann, famously starring Miguel A. Núñez, is reportedly in the works.

According to Núñez, who spoke with TMZ reporters about the possibility of reviving the classic film, despite many of the changes made in today’s society, not only is a reboot possible, Núñez said, “We are going to do it.”

The Sparks star said while he couldn’t give out the plot details just yet, he agreed that creating a sequel to Jesse Vaughan-directed movie was “complicated” for many reasons, including his character essentially being “exposed.”

Núñez was also “absolutely” confident that members of the LGBTQ community and WNBA players would embrace the upcoming project. “They did the first one; they will definitely do [it] with this one,” he added.

Viewers can expect Núñez in the new film but don’t expect him to hit the court as he did in the previous film. He also said there would be several cameos from WNBA players and even claims Golden State Warrior star Draymond Green wants to be involved.

As some may remember, Juwanna Mann follows a disgraced basketball star, Jamal Jeffries, who whips up a plan to play professional basketball again–even if it’s for the women’s league– after being dropped from his men’s team. It’s not long before he becomes a star player, but his problems soon begin when he falls hard for the team captain played by Vivica A. Fox.

The film also starred Kevin Pollak, Tommy Davidson, Kim Wayans, Ginuwine, and Kimberly “Lil Kim” Jones.

However, fans of The Jerry Springer Show will also get to pay their respects, as the tabloid reports that a tribute event is planned for May 16 in Cincinnati.

The gathering is said be free, though only a select number of tickets will be available. Sources told TMZ that around 500 people will be admitted into the event.

The ceremony is said to be "a good overview of his life and legacy in and out of work—which touched communities from all walks of life, from politics to entertainment and just about everything in between." There will also reportedly be celebrity guest speakers and musical performances.

Springer passed away on April 27 in his Chicago home at 79 years old. He reportedly had only stopped working a month before his death. His publicist Linda Shafran  and friend Rabbi Sanford Kopnick confirmed Springer died of cancer.

"He hasn't been sick for a long time. He died of cancer, and he didn't have cancer for very long," said Rabbit Kopnick, adding, "There was much more to him than The Jerry Springer Show. He was very, very smart. He was a remarkable family man, and he was somebody who understood what it means to pay it forward."

Six years before his passing, Springer joked to Entertainment Tonight, "I know what I'm going to put on my tombstone: 'I won't be right back,'" referencing the line he used to say when the talk show would cut to commercials.

Willie Nelson and Rage Against The Machine Among Newly-Minted 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its annual inductees on Wednesday morning, with this year's crop of honorees including Willie Nelson, Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, Sheryl Crow, George Michael, and the '60s R&B group the Spinners. Although they may be banned from Saturday Night Live, rock band Rage Against the Machine also joins the hallowed hall.

The inclusion of Nelson and Bush are particularly notable, as Nelson celebrated his 90th birthday over the weekend at a two-night, star-studded bash at the Hollywood Bowl featuring more than 45 artists. Meanwhile, after being nominated three times in the past, Bush finally made the cut thanks in part to her 1985 single "Running Up That Hill" hitting the charts last summer after being featured prominently in season four of Netflix's Stranger Things.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chairman John Sykes told Variety that the nominating committee was "very happy" about the inclusion of Bush in this year's inductees after being nominated several times.

"Sometimes it takes a major moment like Willie’s 90th birthday or, in the case of Kate Bush, music being played in Stranger Things to shine a light on them for a lot of younger people who didn’t know who she was in 1985," Sykes said. "They probably weren’t even born yet."

In addition to the seven main inductees, new additions to the "musical excellence" category included Chaka Khan, songwriter and record producer Al Kooper, and songwriter Bernie Taupin. Pioneering rock guitarist Link Wray and hip-hop originator DJ Kool Herc also earned nods the “musical influence” division, while Soul Train host Don Cornelius was honored with the annual non-performer Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Nominees who didn't make the cut this year despite being included on the ballot included A Tribe Called Quest, Iron Maiden, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, Joy Division/New Order, The White Stripes and "Werewolves of London" singer-songwriter Warren Zevon.

The honorees will be officially be inducted at a ceremony and concert to take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Nov. 3, with a media partner forthcoming as HBO's contract with the venue recently expired.

Memphis DA won't charge white officer Preston Hemphill in Tyre Nichols' death

Tyre Nichols was brutally beaten by five Memphis police officers after a traffic stop on Jan. 7. Nichols died from his injuries three days later. The five cops, all of whom are Black, were later charged with his murder just a few weeks later. A white officer involved in the traffic stop, however, won’t be facing any legal repercussions.

Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy spoke today (May 2) about the investigation into Nichols’ death. He shared why his office chose not to press charges against former Memphis police officer Preston Hemphill. The ex-cop used his Taser on Nichols during the initial traffic stop, but wasn’t present when Nichols was detained a second time and suffered a bloody fate.

“By no means do we endorse the conduct of Officer Hemphill at that first traffic stop. But we do not believe that criminal charges are appropriate,” Mulroy declared, per NBC News. The decision came after they reviewed and analyzed body camera footage showing Hemphill using the stun gun because he saw Nichols moving toward a police car. “That had to bear weight on our evaluation of his decision,” he said. Watch the press conference below.

The choice was made after the DA’s office spoke with Nichols’ family and their attorney Ben Crump. They were in support of authorities not pressing charges against Hemphill.

“We understand that this individual has been fully cooperating with the investigation and has promised to provide substantial cooperation going forward. In light of this, we are supportive of no charges for this individual,” a statement from Crump read. “It is our deepest hope and expectation that justice will be served fully and that all who had a role to play in this senseless tragedy will be held accountable.”

The Memphis Police Department announced its decision to fire Hemphill on Feb. 3 and explained the reasoning behind doing so as seen below. He was ousted for personal misconduct, lying, misuse of police property like the Taser, and violating inventory and seized property protocol. He has yet to be barred from serving as a police officer in other jurisdictions.

Illegal Twitter Upload of 'Super Mario Bros.' Watched by Millions Before Being Taken Down

The movie was uploaded in two posts from a now-suspended Twitter account called "vids that go hard," according to Forbes

The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which has made more than $1 billion at the box office, has also been viewed by 9 million people — via an illegal upload to Twitter.

A now-suspended account called "vids that go hard" shared the animated movie in two parts over the weekend, according to Forbes.

The feature was viewable for more than seven hours, the outlet reported, before it was yanked from the platform.

"Vids that go hard" previously had a Twitter Blue designation which enabled the account to upload hour-long high-quality video, according to new guidelines from the company which have been established during Twitter CEO Elon Musk's reign.

The film, which stars Chris Pratt as the popular Nintendo character, reached $500 million at the worldwide box office after only a week of release.

The feat made it the highest-grossing movie of the year so far, outdoing Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which opened in February.

Super Mario Bros. has also become the biggest video game movie ever, topping Warcraft, the 2016 big-screen adaptation of the World of Warcraft games, which previously held that top spot.

Super Mario Bros., which officially opened in U.S. theaters April 5, already had a record-setting opening weekend ahead of the Easter holiday with an over-$375-million global debut. About $204 million of that came domestically.

Kevin Costner's wife, Christine, files for divorce after 18 years of marriage

Kevin Costner's wife, Christine, has filed for divorce from the Yellowstone star after more than 18 years of marriage.

"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action," a rep for the Yellowstone star tells Yahoo Entertainment. "We ask that his, Christine's and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Christine filed paperwork to end the marriage on Monday and cited "irreconcilable differences." She is not seeking spousal support as a prenuptial agreement is in place. They share three children: Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.

Kevin, 68, and Christine, 49, have been together for 25 years. They tied the knot at the actor's 160-acre ranch, The Dunbar, in Aspen, Calif., in 2004. They've kept their relationship and family out of the spotlight over the past two decades. In a rare interview about his personal life, the actor said the COVID-19 pandemic strengthened their relationship.

"Our partnership has really come into focus about what we do for each other and how we deal with our family," Kevin told People in 2020, adding he's "really comfortable with my family."

"Our house is like a river: You've just got to get into the flow of it," he continued. "And whatever you thought it was going to be, maybe it still can, but it's going to have to work with what the day brings."

Christine and Kevin first met on a golf course when the actor was rehearsing for 1996's Tin Cup, per People. He was still technically married to his first wife, Cindy Silva, with whom he shares three grown children. The two split in 1994 and, according to Forbes, they had one of the most expensive divorces in history as the actor reportedly paid out as much as $80 million in a settlement. In 1998, Kevin and Christine reconnected and have been together ever since.

News of the divorce comes as the actor is involved in a bitter dispute with Yellowstone producers that could end the Western series, which ranks as the most popular streaming show.

Da Brat And Wife Jesseca Dupart Selected White Sperm Donor For IVF Because There Was Only

As Da Brat gets ready to welcome her first child — a baby boy —  with wife Jesseca Dupart (aka “Judy”), the two revealed that they selected a white sperm donor for IVF (in vitro fertilization)  because they only had one Black donor, but he wasn’t attractive enough.

Da Brat And Wife Jesseca Dupart Selected White Sperm Donor For IVF Because There Was Only One Black Donor And He Wasn’t Attractive: ‘Dude Looked Like Jiminy Cricket’

In a new interview with The Root, Da Brat and Judy opened up about their journey to parenthood. The couple explained how they chose a white sperm donor over a Black donor, because the latter wasn’t attractive enough.

Opening up, the couple revealed that they were quite surprised at how few Black donors there were to choose from. They started with a few thousand candidates and would go on to rule out hundreds “based on things revealed in Judy’s genetic screening.”

After that, they were only left with about 300 candidates, and only one of them was Black. However, their one and only wasn’t attractive enough for them. Brat laughingly said, “That [dude] looked like Jiminy Cricket. I was like, ‘I’m sorry, but that wasn’t gonna be my choice.’”

Being that there were only white donors left to choose form, they ultimately picked one. Brat said, “Because we didn’t have a lot to choose from, he definitely wasn’t Black. But I think we did a great job with picking. He’s handsome, he’s tall and I think he’s going to look beautiful with my wife’s egg.”

Elsewhere, Judy ended up taking to the comment section on Baller Alert’s Instagram, after commenters believed she and her expecting wife didn’t want a Black child.

Judy wrote, “TO BE CLEAR – for all those that are not aware of the MANY things we weren’t aware of, here it is: black men make up less than 5% of the donation pool. Furthermore with genetic testing ( that is SPECIFICALLY for looking into the diseases that humans carry ) and inputting my stats in ALL of the cryo banks -it went from THOUSANDS to about 300 and of that only 1 was black – and he also unfortunately wasn’t a perfect match.”

Judy added, “So we actually waited a few weeks to see if the pool increased – but unfortunately with the time frame we had to choose within 6-8 weeks and there was no more new black donors that fit within the perfect fit with my genetic testing. Hopefully this HEADLINE that people are running with will EDUCATE more people that there’s a HUGE gap in the sperm pool. Everyone have a great rest of your day.”

Serbia School Shooting: 14 Year old Boy Kills 9 in Belgrade Classroom

A 14-year-old boy opened fire in his Belgrade classroom on Wednesday morning, shooting dead eight fellow pupils and a security guard in a pre-planned attack and wounding seven others, Serbian officials said.

Using his father's handgun, the boy fired first at the security guard and three girls in the hallway and then entered a history class and shot at the teacher and classmates, police said. The teacher and six pupils were hospitalized, some with life-threatening injuries.

Police said a seventh-grade student had been arrested in the schoolyard after calling the police and confessing to the shooting. An investigation into his motives was under way.

Veselin Milic, head of Belgrade police, said the attacker had two guns and two petrol bombs and had pre-planned everything. "He even had ... names of children he wanted to kill and their classes," he told a press conference.

Officers in helmets and bulletproof vests cordoned off the area around the school. Bodies were carried out and put into funeral vehicles.

Evgenija, 14, said she knew the shooter.

"He was somehow silent, and appeared nice and had good grades. Did not know much about him, he was not that open to everyone. I would never expect that this could happen," she told Reuters.

"I heard noises, and I thought some boys, some kids were throwing firecrackers, just for the fun of it, but then I heard that even closer and ... then I saw the security guard falling to the ground," she said, adding that she then ran away.

The interior ministry said eight children and a security guard had been killed and six children had been hospitalized along with the teacher. Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic said that the father of the shooter had also been arrested.

'She managed to escape'

Milan Milosevic, the father of one of the pupils at the Vladislav Ribnikar elementary school where the shooting took place, said his daughter was in the classroom with the attacker.

"She managed to escape. [The boy] … first shot the teacher and then he started shooting randomly," Milosevic, who had rushed to the school, told broadcaster N1.

"I saw the security guard lying under the table. I saw two girls with blood on their shirts. They say he [the shooter] was quiet and a good pupil. He recently joined their class," Milosevic added.

Nedeljkovic said doctors were fighting to save the teacher's life. Sinisa Ducic - the acting director of a pediatric clinic in Belgrade treating three of the children - said one, a girl, was undergoing surgery on her head.

"She has a serious injury," Ducic told reporters.

Education Minister Branko Ruzic declared three days of national mourning starting on Friday.

Mass shootings are comparatively rare in Serbia, which has very strict gun laws and has issued several amnesties for owners to hand in or register illegal guns.

But the western Balkans are awash with hundreds of thousands of illegal weapons following wars and unrest in the 1990s.

In the deadliest shooting in Serbia since then, Ljubisa Bogdanovic killed 14 people the central village of Velika Ivanca in 2013. Nikola Radosavljevic killed nine and wounded five in the eastern village of Jabukovac on July 27, 2007.

Rade Sefer killed six guests at his son's wedding in the northern town of Senta in 2015, and a year later, Sinisa Zlatic killed five people with an assault rifle in a cafe in the town of Zitiste, also in the north.

All those assailants were adults.

Luka, 17, who studies at a nearby high school, said it was a tragedy that had been long in the making.

"This is a mistake that the entire Serbian society is making for over a decade … this popularization of violent crime through public and media, through art, through everything," he said.

The “Godfather of A.I.” Quits Google and Now Warns of the Growing Dangers Ahead

The inventor of artificial intelligence (AI) has quit Google after expressing concerns about the spread of misinformation, videos, and images online as well as the potential impact that AI will have on the job market.

In 2012, Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, also known as the godfather of AI, and two of his students at the University of Toronto created a neural net.

Hinton, 75, regrets the contribution he made to AI in part, and quit to speak freely about its dangers.

Current systems like ChatGPT are a result of Hinton’s research.

According to Hinton, until last year, he believed that Google was a “proper steward” of the technology. However, after Microsoft began integrating chatbots into its Bing search engine and the corporation started to worry about the damage to its search business, his opinion changed.

He warned that some of the risks associated with AI chatbots were “quite scary” and that they might eventually surpass human intelligence and be exploited by “bad actors” to their advantage.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that the kind of intelligence we’re developing is very different from the intelligence we have.” Hinton said. “So it’s as if you had 10,000 people and whenever one person learned something, everybody automatically knew it. And that’s how these chatbots can know so much more than any one person.”

However, the problem Hinton mentions is actually something that has already become a reality – AI-generated photos, videos, and text on the web will make it impossible for people to distinguish what is real from what is not.

In March, a photo of Pope Frances wearing a Balenciaga puffer coat went viral. This was made possible by new updates to image generators like Midjourney.

In the long run, Hinton is afraid that AI will eliminate jobs like paralegals, personal assistants, and other “drudge work.”

According to Google’s chief scientist, Jeff Dean, Hinton has contributed significantly to Google over the past ten years.

“I’ve deeply enjoyed our many conversations over the years. I’ll miss him, and I wish him well!

“As one of the first companies to publish AI Principles, we remain committed to a responsible approach to AI. We’re continually learning to understand emerging risks while also innovating boldly.”
