#MAGFAB: The Queen Bee Beyonce for French Vogue!
It’s been quite a successful year for Beyonce. With her new album ‘Renaissance’, a world tour and becoming a record-breaking Grammy winner, it doesn’t seem like she’ll be slowing down anytime soon.
Here we see the ‘Queen Bey’ on the cover of Vogue France looking absolutely breathtaking. In the write-up, Vogue France announces her new role as co-designer of a Balmain haute couture collection, she will be working alongside Olivier Rousteing.
“The powerful and charismatic diva is the also co-designer of a unique Balmain haute couture collection, with Olivier Rousteing,” (via Vogue France)
Rousteing sat down with Vogue, discussing the new collab and how it came to be.
“I was sketching and sketching as I listened [to Renaissance], and sometimes you can’t control the emotion of your sketch,” He explains, “And I started to imagine the sketches inside her album, how they would relate to the songs and the lyrics — it wasn’t something I was supposed to be doing but I was just inspired by the music to do it. And that’s how this started.”
Vogue France describes the new collaboration as ‘the first wearable album.’
“The powerful and charismatic diva is the also co-designer of a unique Balmain haute couture collection, with Olivier Rousteing. The designer, who is unmatched in terms of imagination and a master of epic proportions, was blown away by “Renaissance,” the star’s latest album, and made 16 outfits, hand in hand with Beyoncé herself, dedicated to the album’s 16 tracks.” (via Vogue France)
Beyonce herself took to Instagram to thank Olivier and Vogue France.
“Thank you @olivier_rousteing and @balmain for bringing RENAISSANCE to life in couture. Designing alongside you was freeing—thank you for allowing me to celebrate the human form, to take artistic risks, to push boundaries and to freely express myself.
To the @voguefrance team, thank you for trusting in our vision and sharing it with the world.”
#RHOA: Question: Would Porsha Williams Return to RHOA? Hear Her Surprising Answer
As you might recall, Porsha Williams spent nine seasons on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, sharing everything with fans before stepping away in 2021. In the time since her exit, she has taken viewers inside her family life on The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Porsha’s Family Matters, married Simon Guobadia (and blended their families), and pursued other projects.
But just because she’s booked and busy doesn’t mean she’d ever rule out a return to the RHOA crew. “Never say never. I would definitely go into prayer, I definitely would probably do some fasting and some praying to make sure that it would be the right thing for me, that I’m ready, and that I’m able to show up as who I am right at this moment,” she told ET. “That would be the most beautiful situation for me, for me to feel comfortable enough to show up as who I am now and that actually be shown, that would be great.”
She shared a similar sentiment when speaking to E! News, sharing that it would be a "maybe" for her as a possibility.
These days you can catch Porsha on Season 3 of Peacock’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. Porsha compared this experience to her time on RHOA, noting, “I enjoyed speaking through the fourth wall… This was a totally different experience for me.”
This show also gave Porsha the chance to reunite and hang with a familiar face during filming of the current season of RHUGT. Porsha, of course, previously appeared on Bravo’s Chat Room with Gizelle Bryant before the two landed in Thailand for Season 3 of RHUGT.
She noted that together she and The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member played “therapist” for the other ladies. “Gizelle and I was kind of on a team!” Porsha said. “We was making them work for it, honey. I like the way you deal with an issue and you move on. I think when it just lingers too much is when people start feeling attacked. It just gets a little dark, stuff like that.”
And while Porsha and Gizelle were working together to try to work through the issues in the group, things weren’t always going smoothly for Porsha and Candiace during the season. “She didn’t surprise me, ’cause she was who she was, but I ended up kind of having this roller coaster situation with was Candiace [Dillard Bassett],” she told ET about their drama, which Candiace has also addressed in a separate interview.
“I think we just misjudged one another,” Candiace told E! News. “I’m a vibes person — like, we be vibin’ — and when I got in her presence, she’s, like, a really sweet woman. I think she’s misunderstood, much like yours truly. And we were able to kind of figure it out.”
We guess we’ll stay tuned!

#HipHopNews: Drake Ticket Prices Spark Class-Action Lawsuit
Drake fans are taking legal action against Ticketmaster. A Canadian law firm has filed a class-action lawsuit, alleging that the ticketing giant price gouged tickets for Drake’s upcoming “It’s All a Blur” tour. Montreal-based law firm LPC Avocat Inc. claims that Ticketmaster “intentionally misleads consumers for their own financial gain.”
According to the complaint, obtained by the Toronto Star, a Montreal man purchased two “Official Platinum” seats for Drake’s show at the Bell Centre on July 14 for $789.54 each. The next day, a second show was added to Ticketmaster and the same seats were allegedly listed for $350 less.
The suit alleges that Ticketmaster knew Drake would add a second Montreal show, but “concealed this information” in order to “squeeze out” as much money as possible from fans buying tickets for the first show.
The class-action lawsuit is seeking “compensatory damages in the aggregate amount of the difference between the prices charged for ‘Official Platinum’ tickets and what their regular price ought to have been,” plus $300 per customer in punitive damages.
Earlier this month, Drake announced dates for his first tour in four years with 21 Savage. The “It’s All a Blur” trek kicks off June 16 in New Orleans and stops in Chicago, Boston, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles before wrapping in Glendale, Ariz. on Sept. 5.
When tickets went on sale last week, fans voiced their frustration over the pricing. Tickets were advertised for as little as $69, but some seats were going for as much as $1,000.
Jonathan Majors Arrested On An Alleged Assault Charge In New York
The actor Jonathan Majors was arrested Saturday in New York on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment, authorities said.
New York City police said that Majors, star of the recently released “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,” was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. Police responded around 11 a.m. to a 911 call inside an apartment in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea.
“The victim informed police she was assaulted,” a spokesperson for the NYPD said in a statement. “Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”
He was no longer in police custody as of Saturday night, the NYPD spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press.
A representative for Majors denied any wrongdoing by the actor.
“He has done nothing wrong,” the representative said in an email to the AP on Saturday. “We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
Majors is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood. After breaking through in 2019′s “The Last Black Man in San Francisco,” Majors has starred in “Da 5 Bloods,” “The Harder They Fall” and last year’s “Devotion.” He also stars in the recent Sundance Film Festival entry “Magazine Dreams,” which Searchlight Pictures is to release in December.
Kanye West Says He 'Likes Jewish People Again' Thanks To Jonah Hill
Kanye West is crediting Jonah Hill for changing his views on Jewish people.
The embattled rapper made his return to Instagram on late Friday where he revealed that he “likes Jewish people again” after watching Hill in the 2012 movie 21 Jump Street.
“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again,” Ye wrote alongside a poster for the film, which stars Hill and Channing Tatum as a pair of cops who go undercover at a local high school.
The movie appeared to have a profound effect on him. “No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people,” he told his 18 million followers.
“No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew,” added West. “Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”
This marked West’s first Instagram post after months of silence. Last year, he said he wanted “death con 3 on Jewish people” and posted an image of a swastika combined with the Star of David. As a result, his social media accounts were locked and suspended. He made more anti-Semitic remarks during his appearance on Alex Jones’ “Infowars” where he praised Hitler and said that Nazis did “good things.”
“The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because Black people are actually Jew also,” Ye said at the time. “You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
Adidas ended its lucrative partnership with West in the wake of his hateful comments, a move that cost him his billionaire status. Others including Gap, Balenciaga, and CAA also cut ties with him.
Wendy Williams Declares Her Podcast Is Canceled As Friends Struggle To Figure Out If Any Of Her Career Claims Are 'Based In Reality,'
Wendy Williams reportedly spilled to friends that "The Wendy Experience Podcast" has been canceled following months of hyping up the long-awaited project. Although, the daytime diva's representative, Shawn Zanotti, denies that the podcast has been canceled.
The ailing former television host first announced the podcast last July and even dropped merchandise online for the then-upcoming show.
She followed up the announcement in November 2022 by insisting the podcast would debut within the "next few weeks."
"It's strange, because she is saying there is no podcast, but is also telling people she's going to return to TV," a source dished on Williams' increasingly bizarre behavior concerning her stalled career. "It's hard to figure out what is based in reality."
Williams' rep slammed the report in an exclusive statement to OK! explaining, "We are still working behind the scenes on several projects. There has been no official cancellation of the podcast."
Although sources close to The Wendy Williams Show host have expressed their doubts about the podcast in the past, earlier this year, Williams' rep claimed the tv personality was "enthused" about her latest career venture and that she is taking the time to mold her podcast into a "product that is precise and exemplifies her and the needs of her fanbase."
This comes after OK! reported the 58-year-old was spotted being followed around New York by an entourage of camera crewmembers, setting rumors swirling she's planning her own television series based on her life.
"She had a huge crew that basically turned Fresco by Scotto into a movie set . . . approximately 30 people in the crew. Lights, cameras, audio, producers, etc. [It] looked like a reality show," an eyewitness said at the time.
"One of the ‘scenes’ was Wendy having dinner with a friend," the source continued. "Wendy came into the dining room with her big personality waving at all the guests, like they were extras in her movie."
Rihanna's House Swarmed by Police in Scary Situation
Rihanna, 35, was recently the target of yet another stalker, who took it upon themselves to invade her property lines in an attempt to approach the singer to offer her something. The proposal on the table? His hand in marriage.
A man who traveled over 2,500 miles from South Carolina walked up to Rihanna's Beverly Hills home Thursday, March 23, where he was almost immediately greeted by her security, law enforcement sources told TMZ of the occurrence.
It is unknown if the "Diamonds" artist or anyone else was home at the time.
According to photos obtained by the news outlet, the trespasser—who claimed he was there specifically to propose to the "Lift Me Up" songstress—sported a red Nike hoodie and black pants. Upon arrival, Rihanna's team reportedly called authorities right away, who commenced to put the man in handcuffs, escorted him to a car and discussed his intentions.
The man, whose identity was not released, was ultimately instructed to leave the premises and not return, after it was determined he had not broken the law in any way.
This isn't the first time the Grammy-winning billionaire has had a situation with unwarranted visitors showing up to her living space.
In a scary 2018 incident, a man named Eduardo Leon was arrested after he hopped a fence and broke into the "Rude Boy" singer's house, spending the night and waiting there for her for over 12 hours. Luckily, Rihanna was not home at the time, but her assistant called police with haste after finding Leon the next day.
The perpetrator later told police that he was there to get intimate with the Fenty Beauty mogul. He was charged with three felonies—stalking, burglary, and vandalism—in addition to a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
Authorities were called to the premises again in 2021, after another intruder (who reportedly fled before they arrived) trespassed onto her property in a separate situation.
We're just glad the pregnant mom—who is currently expecting her second child with beau A$AP Rocky—and her family are safe and sound!
Lady Gaga Shows Off The First Major Glimpse Of Her Harley Quinn Costume While Filming The ‘Joker’ Movie
Lady Gaga is currently filming as Harley Quinn for the forthcoming Joker: Folie à Deux sequel — alongside Joaquin Phoenix returning to play the clown-ish chaotic title character. Today, a new glimpse of Gaga’s costume has surfaced.
Compared to past Harley iterations like Margot Robbie’s glitzy take in Birds Of Prey and Suicide Squad, Gaga’s version finds her taking old-school inspiration. She wears a red jacket over a b&w-patterned diamond top. For pants, she has a black leather skirt and similarly-diamonded tights.
She also rocks the clown makeup, putting a modern spin on the harlequin style.
Other shots find Gaga’s Harley being surrounded by cops, as those in the crowd don clown masks and “Joker Marry Me” signs.
“It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way like Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor,” Robbie told MTV News a while back about Gaga’s casting.
“It’s such an honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing,” she added. “I think she’ll do something incredible with it.”
Jane Fonda says Jennifer Lopez gashed eyebrow during 'Monster in Law' slap: 'She's never apologized'
Jennifer Lopez's bling can really help pack a punch! Jane Fonda appeared on Thursday's The Drew Barrymore Show where she looked back at some of her most iconic roles. When Barrymore flashed an image of Fonda and Lopez from 2005's romcom Monster in Law, the 85-year-old actress shared a behind-the-scenes story from set.
"The thing that comes to mind right away is we have a slapping scene," Fonda began. "I slap her, she slaps me, I slap her. Well Jennifer, as per Jennifer, she had this enormous diamond ring, and so when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eye — my eyebrow."
Fonda quipped: "And she's never apologized."
Lopez secretly wed Marc Anthony in 2004, shortly after she and Ben Affleck ended their engagement. It's unclear which sparkler did the damage.
Lopez has also talked about the infamous slap scene, but said she did apologize to Fonda for giving her a "blood blister" at the top of her eye. Except Lopez thought she the cut happened because of her nail.
"I was mortified," Lopez said on her YouTube channel in 2019. "I was like, 'Oh, I'm so sorry.' And she was like, 'It's fine. It's fine.' It was a freaking purple blister that was sticking out and she didn't care. She's such a gangster bitch. I just love her."
Lopez called working with Fonda was one of the "highlights of my career." The two have seen each other at events over the years and always pose together, so clearly, no real damage was done in the making of Monster in Law.
Police Say Kansas Family Lived With Dead Body for Over Six Years
Overland Park Police said they discovered a dead body at a Kansas family’s home that had been there for over six years.
As reported by WNCT, police visited the home of the family in October 2022, and they discovered the body of Mike Caroll. When investigators looked at his pacemaker, they determined that he was 81 years old when he died on July 1, 2016. Relatives of the deceased said that four other people have been living at the home since his death, but they were completely unaware he had died.
“Just so confused about the whole thing. You know, how can this happen? And how can he lay there for that many years and nobody reported?” the deceased's niece Janet Carroll told WDAF. His body was discovered in the property, which has fallen into disrepair, on a bed by authorities when they visited. “I guess the coroner said natural causes but, you know, how do you disprove neglect?” added his niece, who currently lives in Russell, Iowa.
Another niece of Carroll said that whenever she visited, she was told a “different story every time” about his condition. “They would say he was sick,” Caroll said. “They were going to be gone. COVID… My dad’s cousins live in Kansas City, and they had gone over there and nobody answered the door.”
Ro Nguyen, who lived next door to the property, said he knew of Carroll but didn’t see him for a long time. He didn’t suspect anything, though, because he didn’t notice any smells.
Virginia officer fired in connection with shooting of unarmed Black man
Virginia police officer Wesley Shifflett has been terminated following the release of bodycam footage showing the fatal shooting of Timothy Johnson.
The 37-year-old was killed last month (Feb. 22) after an alleged shoplifting incident at Tysons Corner Center. Nordstrom loss prevention members alerted Fairfax police that Timothy was caught in the act of stealing designer sunglasses. Timothy attempted to evade Shifflett, Officer James Sadler, and members of the Tysons Urban Team task force by leading them on a foot chase from the shopping center through a parking garage and parking lot and into the nearby wooded area. During the pursuit, both Shifflett and Sadler fired a total of three shots. Timothy suffered a lethal wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at a hospital. While police did recover two pairs of sunglasses at the scene, it was determined that Timothy had been unarmed during the encounter.
“The officer’s actions do not meet the expectations of our police department,” said Police Chief Kevin Davis about the administrative separation that took place on Thursday (March 23). Davis added that, more specifically, Shifflett, a seven-year veteran, failed to meet the agency’s standards for use of force. Sadler remains on modified restricted duty, and the department’s investigation is ongoing.
Timothy’s family was shown the footage of his final moments on Wednesday (March 22). “No parent should have to view the killing of their child and then be asked to give remarks,” said Melissa Johnson about her son after viewing the eight-minute video. “However, here we are, and here I stand,” she added.
“I have seen and am devastated by the body-worn camera footage showing yet another death of a Black man at the hands of police,” said Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano in a statement obtained by the Associated Press. “My heart grieves for the Johnsons, who lost a beloved family member over an incident involving a pair of sunglasses,” he added. In the coming weeks, Descano will determine if either of the officers will face criminal charges.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has shared some devastating news. On Saturday (March 25), the 75-year-old Broadway composer announced that his son Nicholas had died at the age of 43 after a battle with cancer.
The news comes after Andrew skipped the opening night of his new Broadway musical Bad Cinderella to be by his son’s side.
“I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital,” Andrew shared in a statement. “His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft. Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time.”
Last week, Andrew revealed that Nicholas was “critically ill” and had been battling gastric cancer for the last 18 months.
Nick died just three days after Andrew‘s 75th birthday, which was on March 22.
Our thoughts are with the Lloyd Webber family during this difficult time. RIP.
Daniel Radcliffe & Longtime Love Erin Darke Expecting First Child Together!
Daniel Radcliffe is going to be a dad! On Saturday (March 25), a rep for the 33-year-old Harry Potter actor confirmed to JustJared.com that he and his longtime love Erin Darke are expecting their first child together.
They are absolutely thrilled, and can’t wait to become a family of three,” a source close to the couple told The Mirror. “They told their families and friends recently. It’s an incredibly exciting time.”
Daniel and the 38-year-old Good Girls Revolt actress have been together since 2012, after meeting on set of the film Kill Your Darlings.
In an interview from back in 2016, Erin gushed over Daniel, saying, “I just am constantly grateful for being raised in a time where I was taught to wait to be in a relationship until it was someone that makes you happy and respects you and supports you.”
Congrats to the parents-to-be!
Grey's Anatomy Renewed for Season 20 at ABC, Names New Showrunner
Grey’s Anatomy still has a pulse: ABC has renewed the hit medical drama for Season 20, TVLine has learned. In addition, the network announced that executive producer Meg Marinis will take the reins as showrunner next season, replacing the departing Krista Vernoff.
The renewal extends the show’s record as the longest-running primetime medical drama in TV history; Grey’s premiered on ABC back in 2005. It’s still a ratings powerhouse, ranking as ABC’s top entertainment series in the key adults 18-49 demographic. The Season 19 finale is set to air Thursday, May 18.
Marinis has been an executive producer on Grey’s since Season 15; she started as a writer’s production assistant on the show way back in Season 3 and worked her way up to staff writer and then to EP, penning a total of 35 episodes along the way. She’ll take over for Vernoff, who announced her departure from Grey’s and Station 19 back in January.
“It has been the privilege of a lifetime to be entrusted to run Grey’s Anatomy for the past six years and Station 19 for the last four,” Vernoff said in a statement. “The passion of the dedicated fandoms and the impact that these shows have on hearts and minds cannot be overstated. The amount of talent in these two extraordinary casts and these two brilliant writers’ rooms is beyond measure — and these crews work magic week after week.”
Grey’s has gone through a changing of the guard in front of the camera as well: Series star Ellen Pompeo is no longer a full-time cast member, with her final episode as a series regular airing last month. However, she’s slated to return as Meredith Grey periodically, including for May’s season finale and at least one episode prior to that.
The current cast includes a slew of fresh faces that were brought in at the start of Season 19 to play the new class of first-year surgical residents. Other regulars include Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens Jr. as Richard Webber, Kevin McKidd as Owen Hunt, Kim Raver as Teddy Altman, Kelly McCreary as Maggie Pierce, Anthony Hill as Winston Ndugu, Caterina Scorsone as Amelia Shepherd, Camilla Luddington as Jo Wilson, Chris Carmack as Link Lincoln and Jake Borelli as Levi Schmitt.
Jon Hamm Joins ‘Mean Girls’ Musical
Jon Hamm is joining the Mean Girls Musical in the role of Coach Carr, the resident gym coach and incompetent sex-ed teacher.
The feature adapts the Broadway musical, which is itself an adaptation of the 2004 teen comedy Mean Girls. Mean Girls Musical hails from Paramount, which is planning a Paramount+ debut.
Hamm joins a previously announced cast of Angourie Rice, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey and Reneé Rapp. Rice will be playing Cady, originally played by Lindsey Lohan, with Rapp playing Regina (played by Rachel McAdams in the film). Cravalho will play Janis and Spivey will be Damien, originally played by Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Franzese, respectively. Coach Carr was played by Dwayne Hill in the original film.
Along with original star and writer Tina Fey, Tim Meadows will also be returning to the screen, with Mean Girls newcomers Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Avantika, Mahi Alam, Christopher Briney, Bebe Wood, Ashley Park and Connor Ratliff in the mix.
Mean Girls — both the original movie and the musical — follows teenager Cady Heron, who moves from Africa with her scientist parents to the suburbs of Illinois, where she gets swept up in the dynamics of her new high school’s social hierarchy. She falls in with a popular clique known as the Plastics. The film earned $128 million at the global box office and has since achieved cult teen movie status.
Lorne Michaels will return to produce with Fey, who wrote the book for the Broadway show. Erin David, Caroline Maroney and Micah Frank are overseeing for Broadway Video, and Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond for Little Stranger.
Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. are set to direct. Fey will also write the movie musical’s feature script, with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin. Kyle Hanagami is choreographing.
Hamm, repped by CAA, Forward Entertainment and Sloane Offer, has upcoming credits that include the new season of the Apple series The Morning Show. He was recently seen in Confess, Fletch and Top Gun: Maverick.
United Flight Attendant Who Shared Transition Journey Dies After Posting Emotional Message
A United Airlines flight attendant who previously shared her transition story as a transgender woman in a video for the airline has died.
Kayleigh Scott shared an emotional note on her Instagram and Facebook page on Monday.
“As I take my final breaths and exit this living earth, I would like to apologize to everyone I let down,” Scott wrote. “I am so sorry I could not be better. To those that I love, I am sorry I could not be stronger. To those that gave me their everything, I am sorry my effort was not reciprocated.”
“Please understand that me leaving is not a reflection on you, but the result of my own inability to turn myself for the better.”
Scott mentioned a few family and friends and apologized to them.
“I will see you all again on the other side.”
Scott’s mother, Andrea Sylvestro, confirmed her daughter’s passing.
“Kayleigh Scott…I am so unbelievably proud to have you as my daughter, proud and amazed by everything that you have done in your life, your smile was absolutely beautiful, your laughter was unbelievably contagious, your heart was bigger than any of us could have ever understood,” Sylvestro posted on Facebook.
“I miss you so much already, everything that you have been through, every morning you woke up and looked in that mirror, I hope you saw what we all saw.. a beautiful, eloquent, compassionate, courageous beautiful soul! I love you so so much!!!” she added, in part. “Fly high my beautiful daughter, I will not let a day go by that I don’t honor your name and everything you stood for.”
United Airlines representatives released a statement to PEOPLE, saying they were “saddened by the tragic loss of Kayleigh Scott and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and coworkers.”
In 2020, Scott was featured in a video for United where she discussed her transitioning and how she felt her peers at the company supported her.
“This is a story that I know is so important for me to continue sharing,” she said in the video. “Not for me, but for those out there who are still fighting social norms, the boundaries set upon them, [and] fighting themselves.”
23 Dead After “Destructive Tornado” Hits Mississippi
Mississippi officials confirmed the deaths of 23 people after a destructive tornado and thunderstorms swept through the area on Friday.
Local and federal authorities say the storms and tornado left a trail of destruction for more than 100 miles. Dozens of injuries have been reported, as well as missing people.
Search and rescue operations were underway in Sharkey and Humphreys counties, Mississippi’s Emergency Management Agency announced Friday. The agency issued a series of tornado warnings throughout the state, ABC News reported.
“Many in the MS Delta need your prayer and God’s protection tonight,” Gov. Tate Reeves posted on Twitter. “We have activated medical support — surging more ambulances and other emergency assets for those affected. Search, and rescue is active.”
Thunderstorms slammed the state late Friday, and a tornado was reported around 8:50 p.m. in the area of Silver City and Rolling Fork, the National Weather Service said.
Rolling Fork was “pretty much devastated,” United Cajun Navy President Todd Terrell told the outlet.
“Houses gone. Gas stations destroyed. Trees, power lines blocking entrances everywhere. Stray animals. People wandering the streets clearly in shock. We saw lot of first responders as well. Lots of people out there in the community helping, police, fire, rescue, other storm chasers. There were a lot of people on the ground helping,” O’Neal, a storm chaser who was on the ground in Rolling Fork, said in an interview on “GMA.”
Jourdan Hartshorn, a Mississippi coordinator for the United Cajun Navy, compared Rolling Fork’s description to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, saying most of the buildings were damaged or destroyed, apart from some facilities on the outskirts of town.
“It’s bad out here,” Hartshorn said. “It’s literally devastation. Ground Zero.”
People were urged to stay away from Silver City unless they have family there. The area was described as “chaotic,” with traffic making it difficult for rescue crews to do their jobs.
“Please be advised, Silver City has been hit really, really hard with a tornado,” a video on Facebook said.
AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD!!!
