Damar Hamlin Has Been released from the Hospital
UC Health officials said that Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital on Monday morning and flew back to Buffalo, health officials said.
This comes one week after Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest while on the field with the Bills in their game against the Bengals, which was later canceled after being postponed. Since then, he was in the care of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He will be transferred to another hospital in Buffalo.
Doctors said that Hamlin began walking on Friday, which is also when a breathing tube got taken out. They say that his recovery is on a normal-to-accelerated path and did not suffer a spine injury.
The Buffalo Bills defeated the New England Patriots behind two seemingly storybook kickoff returns from Nyheim Hines. In the process, the Bills ensured they will not play a true road game in the playoffs as a potential AFC championship game against the Chiefs would be played on a neutral site.
Doctors said that when Bills running back Nyheim Hines ran back the opening kickoff in the Bills’ 35-23 win against the New England Patriots, Hamlin was jumping around and yelling, which set off “every” alarm in the ICU in the process.
“He was fine, it was just an appropriate reaction to a very exciting play,” a doctor said.
“There is no reason to believe he won’t continue his path to recovery,” one doctor said, but said it is “entirely premature” to determine if Hamlin will be able to play football again.
Hamlin tweeted on Monday afternoon shortly after the news was announced, “Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love on my heart. Watching the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling. The same love you all have shown me is the same love I plan to put back into the world [and] more. Bigger than football!” He said that he is being treated at Buffalo General Hospital.
In a conference that took place this past Thursday, doctors William Knight IV and Timothy Pritts announced that Hamlin was not yet able to speak, due to having a breathing tube, but was able to communicate through writing.

The following day, he was taken off a ventilator and able to speak. The 24-year-old is in his second season as an NFL player. Both years have been with the Bills.
On Sunday, the Bills kept the New England Patriots out of the playoffs with a 35-23 victory that included two kickoff return touchdowns by Nyheim Hines.

Kenya Moore would rather put herself through intense military training than go on another trip with her castmates on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the reality TV star, 51, opened up about her recent experience on Fox's new reality series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test and explained why she'd rather endure physically demanding tasks than spend time with her RHOA costars.
"When I tell you it is torture for me to go on trips with people that you would never hang out with, you know, if you weren't doing a show with, and to be stuck in a house with them, not able to go anywhere, and unable to do anything that you want to do on your own and just be like a captive audience?" Moore told ET. "100 percent — this answer will shock you — a Housewives trip [is harder]."
Moore, who has starred on RHOA since 2012, has had plenty of run-ins with her cast mates throughout the years, including a recent tiff with Sanya Richard-Ross, who accused Moore of being "ungrateful" during the group trip to Jamaica last season.
"I feel like there's stuff you want to say, and you're just not saying it," Richards-Ross, 37, told Moore during the group's final dinner in Jamaica. "Whenever I'm talking, you disengage. It feels like you, Kenya, have been ungrateful because I have gone above and beyond, and I have been an amazing host."
"The ego tonight, baby, it's on fire," Moore responded. "You want to talk about how I felt about you not having us at your thing? My feelings were it was very disrespectful ... I'm going to speak and you're going to listen."
In the end, the two agreed to disagree and move forward.
Moore recently joined the cast of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test in hopes of taking on a new challenge — and proving to herself that she's capable of anything.
"Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking," she told ET. "I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted to do something that I have never done before. I wanted to grow, and I wanted to overcome my fears, so this show was like the perfect fit for me."
"I feel like I am a better person for it," she added. "I just proved to myself that one could still grow, one can still conquer your fears, and I think that I feel like I'm a stronger person and more focused and everything that I do. I know that if I put my mind to it, I can accomplish it — and I think that I have lost that along the way — but I think it's a good lesson to learn, because now I can teach my my daughter, [Brooklyn], who is 4 years old, that there is really no such thing as fear. It's in your mind."
The Fox reality series, which premiered Wednesday night, follows a group of celebrities — known only as "recruits" and identified by an assigned number — as they compete in a series of bootcamp-style challenges based on actual military exercises.
The premiere episode saw 16 stars show up to answer the call of duty. However, by the end of the episode, four of them had been sent home, primarily for medical reasons.

Hit-Boy has confirmed that he and Musiq Soulchild are coming with some heat in 2023. On Friday (Dec. 6), Hit-Boy took to social media to clarify the speculation that he had a joint album arriving this year with the R&B legend. “R&B Hit-Boy otw,” he typed in response to a fan’s excitement about the album.
Soulchild recently appeared on Bill Bellamy’s Top Billin’ podcast as he told the host about his plans for music in the new year. The “sobeautiful” singer confirmed that the album would be entitled Victims & Villians and stated the body of work would thematically cover the idea of challenging relationships.
As he continued, he also referred to Hit-Boy as one of his generation’s “GOATs.”
“The title is designed to address the topic of the challenges we all deal with in relationships, but I’m approaching it from a slightly different angle than I used to,” he said. “It’s more abstract, at the same time direct.”
“A lot of people don’t realize which one they are; they think they’re one when they’re the other.”
The new joint album would mark the first time the two artists decided to work on a collaboration LP together, but it wouldn’t be the first time they stepped into the studio.
Musiq and HB worked on Ye’s “Christmas in Harlem” back in 2010 and again in 2016 on Audio Push’s “Praise You.”
Hit-Boy ended 2022 with a collaboration with British rapper Avelino. The track, entitled “2 Certified” dropped on Dec. 30, 2022.

Kanye West reportedly was in attendance for a church service after rumors circulated that he’s been missing.
According to HotNewHipHop, a photo of Kanye West was allegedly captured at a local church and quickly made the rounds on the Internet dispelling any speculation that the “Eazy” rapper could not be located.
In a post on Twitter (January 7), Kanye West’s presence seemed to have been confirmed in an unidentified parish, but there is no confirmation on when the photo was taken.
“Kanye West NOT missing However eagle-eyed fans of Ye spotted the rapper at church after some time of missing rumors,” the tweet read. “The Donda rapper donned a green jacket a baseball cap, and jeans, while having a conversation at the chapel.”
Speculation about the Chicago native being MIA began to gain momentum in December when his former business manager, Thomas St. John, claimed he could not be found after filing a lawsuit against Kanye West.
St. John said that he and Kanye West began a professional relationship in March 2022 with West agreeing to place him on a monthly retainer of $300,000 to be his business manager and the Chief Marketing Officer of the Donda brand.
St.John said that his business relationship with Kanye West was all good until an “aggressive meeting” took place leading to the ending of their partnership. He also accused Kanye West of not returning his messages.
“[St. John] needed a guarantee that [West] wouldn’t abruptly abandon the commercial relationship, in addition to the financial costs and hazards associated with committing to [West] as a client. But Mr. St. John offered to settle for a contract lasting at least 18 months,” the lawsuit allegedly states.
Currently, St. John is now seeking $4.5 million in damages including payments for the months of July, August, and September. Also listed in the suit are retainers for the remaining term of the defaulted agreement, which was set to expire in November 2023. No court date has been determined.
Besides dropping in on church services, and his legal woes, Kim Kardashian recently opened up about her struggles with the Yeezy creator as they try to co-parent their four children.
Appearing on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast last month (December 26), Kardashian got emotional as she reflected on having to figure out her new family dynamic while in the public eye.
“It’s hard,” Kim K admitted. “Co-parenting is really fucking hard.”
Despite the challenges and Kanye’s antics, she is committed to protecting her children for as long as she can.
“If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” she said. “That’s really heavy grown-up shit that they’re not ready to deal with. That they are not ready to deal with and when they are, we’ll have those conversations.”
#RIP: Adam Rich, former ‘Eight Is Enough’ child star, dies at 54
Adam Rich, the child actor with a pageboy mop-top who charmed TV audiences as “America’s little brother” on “Eight is Enough,” has died. He was 54.
Rich died Saturday at his home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles, said Lt. Aimee Earl of the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner Coroner’s office. The cause of death was under investigation but was not considered to be suspicious.
Rich had a limited acting career after starring at age 8 as Nicholas Bradford, the youngest of eight children, on the ABC hit dramedy that ran from from 1977 to 1981.
Betty Buckley, who played his stepmother on the show, said on Instagram that she was shocked to learn of his death Sunday and referred to Rich as a “light,” her “young pal” on set and friend ever since.
“I adored him and loved working with him,” said Buckley, who posted photos from the show of the two of them together on a swing set, on horseback and with her arm around him while he was sleeping. “He was so sweet, funny, fresh and natural. He brought a lot of joy to all of us on the show and to our audiences.”
Rich’s public life after stardom was similar to that other child actors whose promising careers are later derailed by drugs and alcohol, and run-ins with the law.
He was arrested for driving under the influence in 2002 after nearly striking a parked California Highway Patrol cruiser in a freeway lane closed for maintenance. He was arrested in April 1991 for attempting to break into a pharmacy and in October of that year for allegedly stealing a drug-filled syringe at a hospital where he was being treated for a dislocated shoulder.
Rich suffered from a type of depression that defied treatment and he had tried to erase the stigma of talking about mental illness, said publicist Danny Deraney. He unsuccessfully tried experimental cures over the years.
Deraney said he and others close to Rich were worried in recent weeks when they couldn’t reach him.
“He was just a very kind, generous, loving soul,” Deraney told The Associated Press. “Being a famous actor is not necessarily what he wanted to be. ... He had no ego, not an ounce of it.”
Rich discussed his mental health on Twitter and noted in October that he’d been sober for seven years. He said he wasn’t perfect — referring to arrests, many stints in rehab, several overdoses and “countless detoxes (and) relapses” — and urged his nearly 19,000 followers to never give up.
“Human beings weren’t built to endure mental illness,” Rich tweeted in September. “The mere fact that some people consider those to be weak, or have a lack of will is totally laughable … because it’s the total opposite! It’s takes a very, very strong person … a warrior if you will … to battle such illnesses.”
Rich posted a picture of himself from his heyday with one-time child star Mickey Rooney.
“Everyone used to say to me, ‘You are the modern day Mickey Rooney,’” he tweeted. “But when Mickey Rooney told me that himself, it meant a helluva a lot more to me!”
Nearly 27 years ago, Rich participated in a hoax that Might magazine created about the actor getting killed in a robbery outside a Los Angeles nightclub in 1996. The article for the little-known magazine was intended as a satire of America’s celebrity obsession but fizzled when the spoof was revealed.
“I think we were a little too subtle. People were not getting the joke,” Rich later told the Chicago Tribune. “I don’t want to be dead.”
Rich was the little brother to a generation of TV viewers as the mop-top son of a newspaper columnist played by Dick Van Patten, who has to raise eight children alone after his wife in the show — and the actress who played her — died during filming of the first season.
Rich starred in the series “Code Red” from 1981-82 and voiced the character of Presto the Magician on “Dungeons & Dragons” from 1983-85, according to the IMDB.com. He reprised his best-known role in two “Eight is Enough” TV movie reunions.
But the balance of his acting career was in single-episode appearances on some of the most popular TV shows of the time: “The Love Boat,” “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “Silver Spoons,” and “Baywatch.” His most recent credit listed on IMDB was playing Crocodile Dundee on “Reel Comedy” in 2003.
Brazil’s New President Lula condemns Brasília riots
BRASILIA — Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva condemned the thousands of radical supporters of Brazil’s former far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro, after they stormed and vandalized the country’s Congress, Supreme Court and presidential office building before security forces regained control.
Lula, who had been visiting the state of São Paulo, returned to the capital Sunday evening to tour the destruction, walking past shattered windows and ripped artwork in the presidential palace. He condemned the riots as “abominable” and said those involved would be found and punished. Authorities arrested at least 400 people.
The attacks in Brasilia drew stark comparisons to the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, and came a week after Lula was inaugurated. The leftist defeated Bolsonaro in a runoff election in October, one of Brazil’s closest-ever elections. Sunday’s episode amounted to one of the worst attacks against democracy in Brazil since the 1964 military coup.
Since Bolsonaro’s loss in October, thousands of his supporters have camped out at army barracks across the country, calling for an overthrow of the government amid allegations of vote suppression by the former president and his allies. Researchers detected a surge in aggressive rhetoric from election denialists in far-right channels online ahead of the rioting.
Sunday’s riots were not the first in the capital by Bolsonaristas, as supporters of the former president are known. In one violent episode, they attacked police and burned buses in Brasilia.
Days before leaving office, Bolsonaro defended his tumultuous four-year presidency and claimed the election had not been impartial, but condemned violence related to the results. He then flew to Florida and skipped the traditional handover of the presidential sash to his successor.
Lula, 77, who is now leading his third term as president and is considered a lion of Latin America’s left, condemned the attacks on Sunday and called the rioters “fascists.” He signed an emergency decree allowing the federal government to intervene in Brasilia and implement “any measures necessary” to restore order.
Dwyane Wade’s Ex-Wife Siohvaughn Rushes Back To Court In Fight Over 15-Year-Old Trans Daughter Zaya’s Name Change
Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches has accused the ex-NBA star of violating their custody agreement by attempting to legally change the name and gender of their 15-year-old trans daughter Zaya, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Funches’ lawyer was in court Friday to submit new evidence. A copy of Wade and Funches' 2011 divorce judgment was filed.
A provision of the agreement states that Wade shall discuss with and obtain input from Funches on “the major decisions affecting the care, welfare, activities, health, education, and religious upbringing of their two children.
Funches hopes this will convince the judge to deny Wade’s petition for Zaya.
Back in August, Wade’s filed the court case on behalf of his daughter Zaya. He asked for his child's name to be changed from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade.
Wade noted that he had full authority to make decisions for his daughter per a court order in his divorce from Funches. The filing read, “Pursuant to the terms of the Final Custody Judgment, (Wade) has full authority to make decisions on behalf of the petitioning minor, and he is not required to receive consent from Ms. Funches-Wade. As a courtesy, Ms. Funches-Wade has received notice of this petition.”
Wade has been incredibly supportive of Zaya since she came out publicly in 2020. Weeks later, Funches showed up to court objecting to the petition.
She accused Wade of failing to communicate with her about the name change or transition petition. She argued he violated their custody agreement and asked for the name-change petition to be dismissed.
Further, she argued that Wade “may be pressuring our child to move forward with the name and gender change in order to capitalize on the financial opportunities that he has received from companies.”
Funches detailed a meeting with Wade in April 2022 where she claimed he told her that “a lot of money had been already made and that additional money will be made in relation to our child’s name and gender issue.”
Funches said her ex said he planned to make Zaya “very famous due to the name and gender issue.”
“Given [Wade’s] high-profile status as a professional athlete, our children’s lives have been highly publicized,” Funches said. “[Wade] has appeared on national television shows and in media reports regarding our child’s name and gender change. I am concerned that our child is being commercialized at a young age and also of the uncontrollable consequences of media exposure i.e. cyberbullying, statements and/or pictures taken out of context of our child, and unwanted spotlight focused on our child.”
Funches asked the court to not allow Zaya to change her name until she is 18.
Wade fired back calling Funches’ argument ‘nonsensical.”
A judge has yet to rule on the matter.
‘The Best Man: The Final Chapters’ Is First Peacock Original to Land on Nielsen Streaming Series Top 10
After premiering on Dec. 22, “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” became Peacock’s first original project to make it onto Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming rankings.
According to data provided to NBCU by Nielsen and exclusively obtained by Variety, “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” is ranked in the No. 5 position in an early version of Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Originals chart for the Dec. 19-25 viewing period, during which it was available for four days. (Exact information about minutes watched during this period is not yet available.)
As such, this also marks the young NBCU-owned streamer’s biggest ever series debut. That title was previously held by “Bel-Air,” Peacock’s dramatic reimagining of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Peacock has previously appeared on the Nielsen’s overall streaming rankings, but only with acquired episodes of the Paramount Network’s “Yellowstone” and the Universal Pictures movie “Halloween Ends.” Additionally, the Universal film “Nope” put Peacock on Nielsen’s streaming movies chart when it debuted on the platform months after running in theaters.
Nielsen also puts “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” as the No. 1 streaming series for Black audiences over the last two weeks. Combined with the previous record set by “Bel-Air,” viewership data seems to suggest that Peacock’s biggest successes have come not only from Black content, but from Black content that plays on nostalgia — similarly to “Bel-Air,” “The Final Chapters” follows up on the 1999 romance film “The Best Man” as well as the 2013 sequel “The Best Man Holiday.”
“The Best Man: The Final Chapters” catches up with characters from the films as relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance. Morris Chestnut, Melissa De Sousa, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Harold Perrineau star. The series was written by Malcolm D. Lee of Blackmaled Productions and Dayna Lynne North of Loud Sis Productions, who also served as executive producers alongside Blackmaled’s Dominique Telson and Hivemind’s Sean Daniel. Lee directed four episodes.
Anderson Cooper Asks Prince Harry Why He and Meghan Markle Haven't Renounced Their Royal Titles
Anderson Cooper had a pointed question for Prince Harry about his current chapter since leaving royal life. In an interview that aired on CBS' 60 Minutes on Sunday to promote Spare, the Duke of Sussex's memoir, Cooper noted that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped back from their senior royal roles in January 2020 and relocated to North America, then inked a deal with Netflix and gave a tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey months later. The couple has continued to use the royal Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles they received from Queen Elizabeth on their 2018 wedding day, and Cooper asked why.
"Why not renounce your titles as Duke and Duchess?" Cooper, 55, asked.
Harry, 38, replied: "And what difference would that make?"
"One of the criticisms that you've received is that okay, fine, you wanna move to California, you wanna step back from the institutional role. Why be so public? Why reveal conversations you've had with your father or with your brother? You say you tried to do this privately," the Anderson Cooper 360 host said.
"And every single time I've tried to do it privately there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife. You know, the family motto is 'never complain, never explain,' " Harry said of the adage. "But it's just a motto. And it doesn't really hold."
Prince Harry also cited the saying when it came to relationships with his family in his first TV interview about Spare, which also aired Sunday night in the U.K. on ITV.
In Harry: The Interview, journalist Tom Bradby asked the royal how he justified sharing family secrets, to which Harry replied, "Well, there's been a motto, a family motto, of 'never complain, never explain.' And what people have realized now through the Netflix documentary and numerous stories coming out over the years is that that was just a motto. There was a lot of complaining and there was a lot of explaining."
"We're six years into it now and I have spent every single year of those six doing everything I can privately to get through to my family. And the thing that is the saddest about this, Tom, is it never needed to be this way. It never needed to get to this point," he said. "I've had conversations, I've written letters, I've written emails, and everything is just, no, you, this is not what's happening. You are imagining it.' And that's really hard to take."
"And if it had stopped by the point that I fled my home country with my wife and my son fearing for our lives, then maybe this would've turned out differently," he said.

Ron Jeremy Set To Be Declared Incompetent To Stand Trial For Rape Due To ‘Severe Dementia’
Ron Jeremy, who has been accused of rape and sexual assault by dozens of women, some of them as young as 15 years old at the time, is expected to be declared incompetent to stand trial due to “severe dementia.”
As the Los Angeles Times reported, it is unlikely the 69-year-old former adult film star will stand trial on Jan. 17 because of the condition, which involves impaired brain function, including the ability to remember or think.
Jeremy, whose legal name is Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, is expected to be placed in a state-run hospital, according to the outlet.
In June 2020, he was first charged with raping or sexually assaulting four women. Later, scores of other women came forward to accuse the porn star of abuse over the years.
Last August, he was indicted on more than 30 counts of sexual assault involving 21 alleged victims ranging from ages 15 to 51. The incidents span more than two decades, with some accusations dating back to 1996. He has pleaded not guilty.
In an email obtained by the Times, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Paul Thompson shared that mental health experts called on by both the prosecutors and Jeremy’s legal team determined he has severe dementia and that his condition is genuine.
He may still have to go to trial if his condition improves, but dementia often accelerates and most symptoms worsen over time, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Thompson wrote that his “prognosis for improvement is not good,” the Times reported.
“If he does not improve, we will not be able to try him for his crimes,” Thompson said in the email. “Because criminal proceedings are suspended as long as he is incompetent, we also cannot get a guilty plea from him or discuss other measures to get justice for the victims in this case.”
HuffPost has reached out to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for comment.
Lianne Young, a former British adult film star and one of Jeremy’s accusers, voiced her concerns to The Times about the case becoming “an indication to other predators or viewers of pornography that they can get away with such crimes.”
Another one of Jeremy’s accusers, who was 15 years old at the time she alleges he attacked her, previously testified on the stand that the former star had forcibly penetrated her with his finger during a rave in June 2004.
“I was just shocked and frozen pretty much,” she testified, telling the court that she tried to push him away and was unable to do so. “It all happened so fast. He’s a lot stronger and bigger than me.”
Jeremy was charged with 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count of committing a lewd act on a minor.

Director Peter Berg reveals Amazon's Rihanna documentary is complete
Peter Berg, the director behind Amazon’s forthcoming Rihanna documentary, says the only thing left to do is get the Bajan singer to sign off on the project’s release.
The multimillion-dollar film has been in the works since the 2016 release of Anti. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said he is just “waiting for her to approve it. It’s done and sold, and Amazon’s ready.” Berg added that the Grammy Award-winning artist is “a perfectionist, so we keep adding. It’s been six and a half years of filming, so, yeah, it’s ready to come out. We’re just waiting on her to say, ‘Yeah, let’s do it.’ I don’t know. Maybe it’ll be a 10-year project.”
When asked if he is concerned the first-time mother will not sign off on the release, Berg said no. He explained, “When Rihanna asked me to make a doc, I thought she was joking… But this has allowed me to dip in and out of her life while I’m doing other things. An Investigation Has Been launched after bodycam reveals LA deputies threatened to shoot Feezy Lebron
Feezy Lebron captured some of the New Year’s Eve encounter with law enforcement on Instagram Live.
Feezy Lebron’s run-in with sheriff’s deputies in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve has spawned an investigation. In what appeared to be an unprovoked encounter, the lyricist’s life was allegedly threatened when a deputy drew his weapon.
Lebron captured some of the interaction on Instagram Live. The recording revealed a deputy said, “I’mma make it super easy on you. You put this car in drive, you’re getting one right to the chest. I don’t care what you got. I don’t care if you got some bulls**t, but guess what bro, now you gotta deal with it. But if you pull some bulls**t, you’re going to take one to the chest.”
According to the department, deputies were on patrol in the 14900 block of Crenshaw Boulevard around 5:45 p.m. when they turned their attention to Lebron as he sat in his vehicle. Things took a turn when the songwriter inquired why he was asked to exit his vehicle. The ordeal included a gun and pepper spray aimed at him. He was detained at the scene for a short while and cited for a missing license plate.
The LAPD released a statement and bodycam footage on Friday (Jan. 6) as an investigation into the encounter was announced. “While the department does not make statements related to ongoing investigations, Sheriff Luna has made it clear that he expects department personnel to treat all members of the public with dignity and respect and that personnel who do not uphold our training standards will be held accountable,” the message read.
In a post pinned to the “No Lauren” artist’s Instagram page, he shared the names and badge numbers of the deputies who confronted him with images of one of the men. “Let’s get this guy’s face out there before he gets a chance to MURDER a young [B]lack male sitting in his PARKED car… Unarmed… Approached my car for no reason. Didn’t know I was still on LIVE. Remember, they just want a reason to KILL you… this is the norm,” he wrote.
Lebron also shared more footage captured by onlookers. In it, several LAPD members are seen. The emcee and another man spoke with one law enforcement official, and another officer looked under the hood of a black Mercedes G-Wagon. “Just glad to have survived that last encounter. These guys are literally hunting us. Please continue to SHARE. This is the way I’m most likely to DIE. It will always end with HANDCUFFS or GUNS DRAWN,” wrote the LA-based artist in the Jan. 4 post.

Congratulations to Chad Johnson and Sharelle Rosado who are officially engaged. According to PEOPLE, who also obtained the exclusive photos, the retired NFL player popped the question on Saturday evening in front of their family and friends out in Miami.
Sharelle was under the impression she was attending an early birthday party for her beau, who turns 45 on Monday when 20 of their closest relatives surprised her by watching Chad get on one knee and popping the big question. “I’m honestly shocked! I’m at a loss for words. This was absolutely beautiful and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love, that really did it for me,” Sharelle told the publication of her engagement.

Though the engagement was very much unexpected, it seems as if neither of them is looking to waste much time when it comes to preparations for their wedding because the 33-year-old says she already has a destination in mind for where she hopes to tie the knot.
Some of the places where Sharelle says she could see herself walking down the aisle include the Bahamas, explaining that it would be extra special for them to get married there since this was also where the pair celebrated their daughter’s first birthday as a family.
Lizzo says 'cancel culture is appropriation': 'It’s become trendy, misused and misdirected'
Lizzo is sharing her thoughts on cancel culture, in which a person faces negative consequences for statements or actions that are perceived as harmful.
In a tweet posted on Sunday, the Grammy winner argued that the practice of canceling others has "become trendy, misused and misdirected," overshadowing more serious issues and "real outrage" in the process.
"This may be a random time to say this but it’s on my heart.. cancel culture is appropriation," Lizzo wrote on her Twitter account. "There was real outrage from truly marginalized people and now it’s become trendy, misused and misdirected."
The "About Damn Time" singer continued, sharing that she "hopes we can phase out of this and focus our outrage on the real problems." While she didn't elaborate on the topic, Lizzo received a flurry of replies from fans who lauded her take.
However, there were some detractors. While many people believe that so-called cancel culture is promoting accountability by encouraging people to think about their statements before they speak and act, others have condemned it as a form of controlling the dialogue and limiting free speech.
Lizzo certainly isn't the only celebrity who has expressed reservations about the current climate, for a variety of reasons. In a 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dakota Johnson called cancel culture a "downer."
"It's just really sad," she said, noting the downfalls of former co-stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer and Shia LaBeouf. "I do believe that people can change. I want to believe in the power of a human being to change and evolve and get help and help other people. I think there's definitely a major overcorrection happening. But I do believe that there's a way for the pendulum to find the middle."
Kevin Hart also spoke out in a 2021 interview, noting that he had been canceled "three or four times."
"If somebody has done something truly damaging then, absolutely, a consequence should be attached," Hart told the Sunday Times. "But when you just talk about … nonsense? When you’re talking, ‘Someone said! They need to be taken [down]!’ Shut the f*** up! What are you talking about?
“When did we get to a point where life was supposed to be perfect?" the comedian continued. "Where people were supposed to operate perfectly all the time? I don’t understand. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson Set to Publish ‘Lovely One’ Memoir
Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is planning to release a memoir on her life titled “Lovely One,” the book’s publisher announced Thursday.
In the memoir, Jackson, who made history last year as the first Black woman to join the court, will chart her personal history, from her upbringing in Miami and her years at Harvard to her early legal career, marriage and motherhood, and ascension to the Supreme Court, according to a statement from Random House.
“Mine has been an unlikely journey,” Jackson said in the statement. “This memoir marries the public record of my life with what is less known. It will be a transparent accounting of what it takes to rise through the ranks of the legal profession, especially as a woman of color with an unusual name and as a mother and a wife striving to reconcile the demands of a high-profile career with the private needs of my loved ones.”
The memoir will be Jackson’s first book. Random House did not say in its statement when the memoir would be released nor did it note how much the justice would make from her book deal with the publisher.
Random House did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for more details on its book deal with Jackson.
It’s not uncommon for Supreme Court members to secure lucrative book deals, with Justice Amy Coney Barrett having received a $425,000 payment from the literary agency Javelin Group to pen her own book, according to financial disclosures released last year. Barrett’s book has not yet been released.
Justice Neil Gorsuch, meanwhile, authored a broad-audience book called “A Republic, If You Can Keep It” in 2019. He received $250,000 from the publishing company HarperCollins in 2021, according to his 2022 financial disclosures. The income is listed as “book royalties.” Politico reported last year that the amount was an advance for a new book about judicial and regulatory policy.
And Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s disclosures last year revealed she had received more than $115,000 in book royalties in 2021 from Penguin Random House, which has published several children’s books by the justice
Of her forthcoming book, Jackson said in her statement Thursday: “My hope is that the fullness of my journey as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, litigator, and friend will stand as a testament for young women, people of color, and dreamers everywhere … especially those who nourish outsized ambitions and believe in the possibility of achieving them.”
Jackson was sworn in as a justice on June 30, 2022. President Joe Biden nominated her earlier that year to replace Justice Stephen Breyer, who announced his retirement from the bench after serving for nearly three decades.
HBCU Grad Nicholas Perkins Buys Fuddruckers Brand + All 92 Restaurants for $18.5 Million
*The international Fuddruckers restaurant brand now has a new owner in the form of Nicholas Perkins, a graduate of both Howard University and Fayetteville State University.
Perkins now wholly owns all 92 of the company’s restaurants in the United States, Canada, Panama, and Mexico, after closing the deal for approximately $18.5 million through his affiliate, Black Titan Franchise Systems LLC. He was formerly one of the company’s largest franchisees and never dreamt he’d once own the company.
“I always wanted to become a part of this iconic brand,” he stated to Essence. “I just didn’t realize that one day I’d end up owning it.”
Perkins was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management and an honorary doctorate from Fayetteville State University, an HBCU. Later, he joined Howard University – another HBCU – for his Master of Business Administration degree.
He founded Perkins Management Company in 2004. This allowed him to mix his business skills and the love for cooking he had always cherished since he was a kid growing up with his mother and grandmother.
Perkins strongly believes Fuddruckers under his stewardship will take the ‘World’s Greatest Hamburgers’™ to higher places. He plans to expand the brand from the current 92 locations to more. The brand had over 500 locations in the 90s and early 2000s.
“Our strategy long term will be to grow our franchise operations individually, to bring in new franchisees both internationally and domestically as well as looking to find strategic marketing partnership opportunities to be able to grow and sustain the brand long term,” Perkins said.
President Joe Biden Will Visit Atlanta To Attend Ebenezer’s Annual MLK Event
President Joe Biden will return to Atlanta next week to attend Ebenezer Baptist Church’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration.
Biden is scheduled to speak Sunday, January 15, at the church, WSBTV News reported. Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock is the pastor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s historic church.
Biden last visited Atlanta last January, when he came to the Peach state with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss voting rights.
NJ Art Teacher Facing Charges After Overdosing On Fentanyl In Front Of Students
A New Jersey art teacher is facing charges after overdosing on fentanyl in front of middle school students back in November.
Frank Thompson, 57, was arrested on Thursday and charged with endangering the welfare of children, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a disorderly person offense.
Thompson was discovered unconscious in a second-floor classroom at Roosevelt Intermediate School on Nov. 29. When police arrived; he was noted to be in distress in front of students and being treated by a school nurse.
Exhibiting signs of a drug overdose, one of the responding officers treated Thompson with Naloxone Hydrochloride, also referred to as Narcan. Thompson’s condition began to improve.
A subsequent investigation revealed “a quantity of a suspected controlled substance” and drug paraphernalia located in a closet inside the classroom, according to the Westfield Police Department.
Thompson is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 1.
