#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Reveals Her Dream RHOA Cast
Former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey, reveals who her dream cast would be, should she ever return to the series.
It's been a few years since Cynthia Bailey appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and now she's revealing who she would place on her dream cast. Cynthia, who first joined the series during season 3, was a mainstay on the show for 11 years. Cynthia's RHOA storylines featured her getting married twice, financial struggles, friendship feuds with NeNe Leakes, and so much more. Her departure from the series was not something fans were particularly happy about; however, it has provided new women the opportunity to join the show's colossal platform. Cynthia's exit from the series caused a lot of emotion among viewers who miss some of the show's biggest stars, but it appears the RHOA alum knows that.
On Carlos King's podcast, Reality With the King, Cynthia was asked who she would have on her dream cast of RHOA if she could pick. Including herself, Cynthia revealed the first Housewife she'd bring back is "Eva [Marcille] because she's my friend." She also said she'd choose "Kenya [Moore]." Cynthia added that she and Kenya "just made up again," and she "loves her" after a rocky The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip season 1. The pair were extremely close on RHOA seasons 8 through 13. "Kandi [Burruss], she's my girl," Cynthia revealed, as she worked through her list before finishing with "Porsha [Williams]."
Despite Cynthia's exit from RHOA, she told Carlos that she almost returned in a different capacity. "I have been very transparent with how my 11-year run on The Real Housewives of Atlanta ended," she said. "I wasn't having that much fun with it anymore," the RHOA star said, while also revealing the network was interested in bringing her back for season 14 as a "friend." After more than a decade on the show, Cynthia said that after a while, she had "reasons for feeling like it wasn't right for me to go back to show," it was hard for her to "cut the cord and just be done with Housewives," so the reduced role initially appealed to her. After thinking about it further, Cynthia told Carlos she appreciated "the good offer" from the network but chose to "gracefully" decline.
Before Cynthia announced her departure from RHOA, she appeared in the first installment of RHUGT with Kenya Moore, Kyle Richards, Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, Ramona Singer, and Luann de Lesseps. The series served as The Real Housewives' first "'all-star" sort of season, with the ladies filming for less than two weeks. While on the show, Cynthia had minor feuds with co-stars Kyle and Melissa, while her biggest fight took place with her RHOA cast mate, Kenya. Viewers hoped they would be able to see the continuation of Kenya and Cynthia's disagreement on a full season of Housewives, as the two are very close friends. However, because Cynthia declined her offer to return to the show, viewers couldn't see the pair's reconciliation.
Thankfully, Cynthia appeared at BravoCon 2022 in October and addressed her current standing with Kenya and the Bravo network. Even though she no longer appears as a full-time Housewife on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia has made guest appearances on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to discuss her businesses, RHUGT, and her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house. Fans of RHOA appreciated Cynthia's fashion sense, grace, and maturity while on the show, and despite not currently filming, she still displays those characteristics today.

#HipHopNews: Kanye West Mocks Meek Mill: 'What Made Somebody Think He Could Say Something To Me?'
Kanye West is once again taking aim at Meek Mill. After being suspended from Twitter, the embattled rapper resurfaced during a Clubhouse chat with Wack 100 on Saturday where he mocked the Philly MC, who previously called him out.
“What made somebody think Meek Mills could say something to me?” Ye said while laughing. “Yo, this is the funniest thing of everything. Yo, man, I’m about to start crying laughing that somebody thought Meek Mills…”
He continued to laugh uncontrollably, adding, “Yo, I’m literally in tears.”
Wack 100 eventually chimed in and called Meek a “gangster.”
During the conversation, Ye also brought up others who have criticized him including Diddy and Dave Chappelle.
Meek has been among few in the hip-hop community to publicly speak out against Ye after he wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt during his Yeezy Season 9 show at Paris Fashion Week. In October, the Philly rapper said he can no longer sit back and watch Ye go against his own.
“I used to listen to ye every night and jail for motivation on god!” he wrote in an Instagram Story. “And came home and watched him shit on my name and brand like nothing… I ain’t say nothing … but I been knew you was on that nerd tryna shit on street Ni**as you just said it to boosie…”
He shared a clip from a 2019 interview Ye did with Big Boy where he seemingly criticized Meek. “The culture has you focused so much on fu**ing somebody bitch and pulling up in a foreign and rapping about things that could get you locked up and then saying you about prison reform,” Ye said, a possible reference to Meek’s REFORM Alliance.
“It hurts my heart to even know some of y’all this crazy and lame… ion need no verses from no ni**as because I been hot since 13,” added Meek. “Speaking from a ni**a that been buying support ye since he came out .. but what you be doing for fame driving you crazy … look how hard you came at me ni**as know I’m vocal it’s like you hate your own people.”
Ye previously accused Meek of having an inappropriate relationship with his then-wife Kim Kardashian. “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for ‘prison reform’,” he said in July 2020, prompting Meek to deny the claim.
Derrick Jaxn Announces Divorce From Wife Da’Naia Jackson
Relationship guru Derrick Jaxn has announced his divorce from wife Da’Naia.
According to Bossip, the Saturday (Dec. 10) news comes less than a month after Da'Naia warned the internet to stay out of their relationship.
Media personality Tasha K posted Jaxn in Miami during Art Basel Week with a mystery woman, prompting Jaxn to announce his divorce.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Jaxn said the decision to divorce was made after attempts were made to save their marriage through marital counseling.
“Earlier this year after much prayer, counseling, and deep consideration, we decided to go our separate ways and filed for divorce,” Derrick said in the caption. “From falling in love as just teenagers, to becoming spouses and now co-parents, I'm grateful for the years we've spent together and wouldn't trade them for anything. I was blessed to have such an amazing person in my life and will forever be thankful for all she's meant to our family.”
They were married for four years prior to their divorce.
In 2021, the couple faced a scandal that shook up their household. Jaxn’s mistress Candice De Medeiros said she slept with him on multiple occasions, adding that she’d been inside the home he shared with his wife and children.
Da’Naia went on to address the scandal, saying she forgave him but admits she did leave when she discovered the mistress.
Demarco Morgan Slated As Fill-In For T.J. Holmes On GMA3
Demarco Morgan will be replacing T.J. Holmes on ABC’s Good Morning America.
According to U.S. Weekly, the switch comes after the alleged romance between Holmes and co-host Amy Robach surfaced in the workplace. Viewers of the GMA3 special: What You Need To Know, are seeing a lot of new faces in front of the camera and Morgan, 44, is the latest.
Originally, Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez were replacing Holmes and Robach, but on Friday (Dec. 9), it was Ramos and now the former CBS News personality Morgan behind the desk, along with Dr. Jennifer Ashton.
“We’re filling in for Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes,” Ramos said.
Morgan, 44, has been a journalist for over two decades and was hired by ABC News last month. Prior to his new role with ABC, he served as an anchor for CBS’ Santa Monica, California station.
Morgan has a new admirer, too, as he steps into his new role. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais is eyeing the new ABC anchor.
“Well hello,” she quote tweeted on Friday (Dec. 9), with photos of Marco on the set of GMA3.
Holmes and Robach were removed from their roles at GMA3 on December 5. On Friday (Dec. 9), Columbia University graduate, Morgan, stepped in for Holmes as a co-anchor.
News of the romance between Robach and Holmes made headlines on November 30. President of ABC News Kimberly Godwin marked the affair as an “internal and external distraction.”
"I want to say that while the relationship is not a violation of company policy, I have really taken the last few days to think about and work through what is the best for ABC News,” Godwin said during an editorial meeting.
Beyoncé Is Reportedly Having Her Crew Remain Sober And Undergo ‘Me Too Checks’ Ahead Of Her ‘Renaissance’ Tour
Though Beyoncé hasn’t officially announced her Renaissance tour, it’s become one of the buzziest of the upcoming year. Plans of the Renaissance tour were revealed back in October at WACO Theater‘s Wearable Art Gala 2022, where a lavish tour package was up for auction.
According to The Sun, Beyoncé is in high gear planning for her tour. A source close to the tour told The Sun that Bey is enforcing a ban on alcohol and drugs during rehearsals and tour dates.
“Bey knows the new performances will require intense choreography and precision, so everyone has to be clean and sober,” said the source. “There won’t be any crazy partying on the road either.”
The source also revealed that each crew member will be thoroughly background-checked, in order to prevent sexual misconduct during the tour.
“She is also carrying out #MeToo checks with the dancers, band and crew with hopes doing so will make the tour a safe and friendly work environment,” said the source.
Additionally, Bey will be providing her tour crew with access to mental health support and resources.
“She knows people are happiest when they know their well-being is fulfilled,” said the source, “and wants to use what she has learned in the business to lead by example.”
#RIP: Paul Silas, 3-time champ and LeBron James' first NBA head coach, dead at 79
Paul Silas, a defensive stalwart who won three NBA championships and went on to coach for over a decade in the league, died Sunday. He was 79.
The Houston Rockets, who are coached by Silas' son Stephen, sent their "heartfelt thoughts" to the Silas family.
The NBA also released a statement, sending condolences to the Silas family.
After being selected by the St. Louis Hawks in the second round of the 1964 NBA draft, Silas emerged as a defensive stalwart over 16 seasons in the league. Silas showed promise in his early years and took a big step forward during the 1967-68 season, when he averaged 13.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. It was the first time Silas averaged a double-double over a full season. He repeated that feat seven more times in his career.
Silas played in St. Louis for four seasons and spent one year with the Hawks in Atlanta. After the 1968-69 NBA season, he joined the Phoenix Suns, where he continued to excel on the court. Silas averaged a double-double in all three seasons with the Suns. He was also named to the second team NBA All-Defensive team in his final two seasons in Phoenix. He received his first of two All-Star selections in his last year with the team.
Silas then joined the Boston Celtics, where he experienced the most success in his career. In four seasons with the team, Silas averaged 11.5 points and 12.3 rebounds. Silas was named to the NBA All-Defensive second team in his debut season in Boston and went on to make the NBA All-Defensive first team in the 1974-75 season and the 1975-76 season. He also experienced success in the playoffs with Boston, winning two NBA championships in four seasons with the team.
After one year with the Denver Nuggets, Silas spent his final three seasons with the Seattle Supersonics. He won another championship during the 1978-79 season.
Over his career, Silas averaged 6.9 points and 9.4 rebounds. He made the All-Defensive team five times, won three NBA championships and was a two-time All-Star.
After retiring, Silas immediately was named the head coach of the San Diego Clippers. The team went 78-168 in three seasons under Silas. After a few years away from basketball, Silas returned to the game and spent 11 seasons as an assistant coach.
Silas eventually got another shot as a head coach with the Charlotte Hornets. He spent four seasons with the team and one after the franchise moved to New Orleans. He then joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he became LeBron James' first NBA head coach. Silas coached James during his first two seasons in the NBA. The Cavaliers went 69-77 under Silas, but James played like a superstar, averaging 24.1 points, 6.6 assists and 6.4 rebounds in his first two years in the NBA.
After spending a few years away from the league, Silas returned to coach the Charlotte Bobcats for two more seasons. His coaching career ended following the 2011-12 NBA season.
Hornets chairman Michael Jordan released a statement calling Silas "an incredible leader and motivator." Jordan also called Silas, "One of the all-time great people in our game."
Silas' son, Stephen Silas, followed in his footsteps and took up coaching in the NBA. Stephen spent two decades as an assistant coach all around the NBA before being hired as the head coach of the Houston Rockets prior to the 2020-21 NBA season. Stephen has a 44-135 record in 2 1/2 years with the team.
The Rockets are slated to play the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night. Stephen will not coach the team Sunday, per Mark Berman of Fox 26. John Lucas will serve as the head coach while Stephen is away from the team.
Missy Elliot Donates $20,000 To Norfolk State University And Receives Her Second Honorary Doctorate Degree
Missy Elliot receives another honorary doctorate degree and donates $20,000 to Norfolk State University.
On Saturday, Missy gave the keynote commencement speech for NSU’s 2022 graduating class. During the ceremony, Missy was given NSU’s Presidential Commencement Medallion and a honorary doctorate in human letters.
“I am proud of y’all, and y’all should be proud of [yourselves]. Now, I want y’all to look at each other and say, ‘You already won.’ Let ’em know. There ain’t no winning. You already won. Y’all could have been doing anything else these last few years. Y’all could have been wilding out, but y’all decided to finish the course, and that’s major,” Missy said.
In addition, Missy made a massive donation of $20,000 to the university to serve “areas of greatest need.”
Missy’s history with the university goes way back prior to her stardom. In her speech, Missy mentioned how she used to play her music on the campus even though she wasn’t a student.
NSU’s band was also in attendance at her street-naming ceremony in October. The band performed at the event as a section of McLean Street was changed to “Missy Elliot Boulevard.”
Missy received her first honorary doctorate from Berkeley University, along with Justin Timberlake, and other notable celebrities in 2019 for their musical influence.
Cardi B Issues a Message to Anyone Considering Cosmetic Surgery After Revealing She Removed 95 Percent of Her Butt Injections
The popular surgery trend to enhance one’s rear end doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Celebrities are even being more transparent about their work, including rapper Cardi B, who recently shared her experience getting butt injections and how she has since removed them. However, the “Tomorrow 2” guest emcee also issued a warning for fans interested in getting the controversial procedure.
During an unfiltered Instagram Live session, the 30-year-old emcee born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar spoke openly about the process of achieving her enhanced figure before revealing that last August she removed 95 percent of her butt injection following the birth of her son Wave Set Cephus whom she shares with the Migos rapper Offset, cousins of the late Takeoff who tragically passed away last November.
“After I gave birth to my son, my ass was f-cking huge. I almost gained 20 pounds, and that went everywhere on my body,” the Bronx native explained before debunking allegations that “A lot of people thought that as soon as I gave birth, I got my body done.”
“No, b–ch, I didn’t,” she continued. “In August, I did surgery, and I removed 95 percent of my biopolymers [butt injections]. It was a really crazy process.” Cardi revealed she initially got butt injections when she was just 20. Although she didn’t experience adverse effects such as pain, discoloration, or other health complications triggered by the procedure, as seen in some cases, she’s still opposed to the operation.
“If you young — if you 19, if you 20, if you 21 — and sometimes you too skinny and you be like, ‘Oh my god, I don’t got enough fat to put on my ass,’ so you resort to ass shots, don’t f-cking do it,” she said. “I am super, super, super, super against ass shots. I’m super against biopolymers.” Cardi admitted her second pregnancy “did a f–king number,” making her want to “fix my s–t up.”
The mother of two garnered applause for sharing a highly private yet sensitive topic. “She genuinely just can’t do no wrong for me. I absolutely love her. She’s so real that libra sh-t shines though she’s a beautiful honest soul,” wrote one YouTube user. Another person added, “Love Cardi, No matter how rich she gets, she always keeps it 100%.!”
Lizzo To Replace Yeah Yeah Yeahs As Musical Guest On 'Saturday Night Live' Due To The Group's Illness
Lizzo will be performing on "Saturday Night Live" once again. The "About Damn Time" hitmaker is set to replace Yeah Yeah Yeahs as a musical guest on the hit NBC comedy sketch show after the group withdrew due to the group's illness.
On Saturday, December 10, the band announced that they won't perform in the December 17 episode of the show because guitarist Nick Zinner has been battling pneumonia for the last month. In a statement shared on Instagram, they explained, "It's been an up and down recovery process."
"The band's top priority is supporting Nick through a full recovery, as a result we had to pull out from our engagements of KROG's Acoustic Christmas and Saturday Night Live," they added. "YYYs have enjoyed the incredible highs of being supported on KROQ and the huge honor of being chose to close out SNL's 2022, we are deeply thankful and expectedly heartbroken we cannot rise to these occations."
"We send our love to our fans and supporters, thank you for your understanding and well wishes, it means the world to us," the band, who also consists of Karen O and Brian Chase, continued. "Wishing you a healthy and happy rest of 2022, we're looking forward to a strong return in 2023."
After Yeah Yeah Yeahs made the announcement, "SNL" took to their social media accounts to reveal that Lizzo will fill in as a musical guest. Meanwhile, Austin Butler is set to host the December 17 episode.
Lizzo did a double-duty gig on "SNL" on April 16. While it marked the first time for her to host the show, the "Truth Hurts" hitmaker previously performed at the show during Eddie Murphy's December 2019 homecoming.
Fans Label Wendy Williams' Ex-Husband And Son Real 'Scum' Amid Her Financial Troubles
Fans are convinced that Wendy Williams is the one being taken advantage of by her ex-husband Kevin Hunter Sr. and son Kevin Hunter Jr. Many believe that they're actually "stealing" from the former "The Wendy Williams Show" host.
On Thursday, December 8, one person said via blog that they can't believe "Wendy Williams is the type of celebrity or mother to buy her son a $2 million apartment, knowing that he just started college."
The said person, who believed that Wells Fargo was really trying to help the former daytime TV queen by taking control of her finances, added, "Her then-manager teamed up with her financial planner at Wells Fargo to prevent someone (Wendy's son) from having access to her money." They further noted that "Kevin and Kevin Jr were the ones that twisted the stories to the media and made it seem as though the bank was trying to steal from Wendy. They're the real scum."
Responding to the theory, another Internet user commented, "As frugal as Wendy claimed to be, I was surprised by how expensive that apartment cost." Someone else agreed, writing, "Exactly! If you have been following Wendy Williams since the WBLS days, when she was on radio, then you know she's not with spending money on useless s**t. She's never been that way."
A separate user pointed out, "Right! I think that he and Kelvin Sr saw that as an opportunity to bond with her, and eventually get her to trust him. I don't think that if Wendy Williams was lucid, she would have given her son control over her finances; knowing that they don't have the best relationship to begin with."
One person chimed in, "Yeah, I was like...how did this even HAPPEN? Like, what the F**K? Her husband and son are SCUM. It's so pathetic and the situation is CRAZY." Someone suggested, "It happened bc she chose Kevin as a mate. This man raised your son. You get a replica."
Another opined that as soon as Kevin Sr. had a baby outside of his marriage with Wendy, Wendy "just became a degenerative." The anonymous person continued, "However, that doesn't give Kelvin Jr the right to take advantage of his mother's finances and steal from her."
In fact, Wendy's assets are being controlled by a guardianship expert and attorney. The Sun recently identified Wendy's permanent financial guardian as Sabrina Morrissey, whose expertise in "estate administration, guardianships and litigation." Sabrina became her permanent financial guardian in May.
Recently, court documents revealed that Wendy's ex-husband Kevin Sr., petitioned a judge in their divorce case to order the guardian to resume his alimony payments that ceased in February. Additionally, her son Kevin Jr. alluded to the guardian's tight control on Wendy's money when he was evicted from his luxury apartment in September after his mother's bank accounts were frozen in February, leaving him unable to keep up with his steep $6,800 monthly rent.
Explaining the messy situation, Wendy's publicist Shawn Zanotti confirmed that Kevin Jr. being evicted from his apartment has "nothing to do" with her client "losing her fortune." Shawn further highlighted that Wendy is currently under conservatorship and cannot release funds without getting approval.
"Wendy's hands are tied and there is really nothing she can do right now. It's a process that tends to go beyond the deadline of certain invoices. She, honestly, can't do anything about that," Shawn went on noting. "It's really sad how some outlets take headlines and misconstrue information just to get clicks and likes."
Mark Curry claims he was racially profiled by white hotel staff in Colorado
Comedian Mark Curry is being flooded with support after claiming he was racially profiled by employees of The Mining Exchange A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Saturday (Dec. 10).
Curry was apparently lounging in the hotel lobby when a white male employee approached him and asked if he was a guest and demanded to see his ID. The “Family Reunion” actor, who was on Instagram Live at the time, shared the 26-minute video on his page. In the caption, Curry wrote: “Black man and a hotel lobby. It’s impossible that he has a room here. No, I have a suite! He walks up to me with no badge on; I don’t know who this man is. And [he] asked to see my hotel key. Wyndham racism. 719-323-2000 call them, please. Jhon Crab, head of security and head of maintenance at the same time.”
The footage showed the man irritably standing in front of him and asking Curry to confirm his guest status. Nearby, a second male staff member stood watching the encounter. Elsewhere, the actor showed the two men as they trailed behind him throughout the lobby.
Once back in his room, Curry stated: “This is some bulls**t. This [is] what we do in America. The motherf**ker was so upset. I don’t know what his problem was. He did not want me in the lobby. He walked up and said, ‘This lobby is private,’ and stopped me.” He went on to implore his followers to call the hotel and “f**k them up” with complaints about how the staff interacted with him.
The post was inundated with comments from the comedian’s peers. Guy Torry wrote: “I was just there 2 weeks ago. That’s [the] hotel across from the comedy club. They giving you s**t?” D.L. Hughley commented: “You good, my dude? I’ve called the number a bunch of times [and] can’t get [through]!” The “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” lead also garnered support from his former castmates Raven-Symoné and Holly Robinson Peete. The latter tweeted: “I watched the whole video. There was no reason for Mark to be singled out except for the fact that he’s a Black man. Since when do you have to identify yourself sitting in the lobby drinking coffee? This would be farcical if it wasn’t so disrespectful.”
As for the hotel, they have since apologized -- saying they reached out to Mark to comp him for his stay and offer him another free visit in the future. They also say they're going to be retraining their staff after this to make sure it remains a place that's welcoming for all.

Jay Leno Speaks Out About His Burn Accident For The First Time
Jay Leno is speaking out for the first time since his burn accident.
In case you didn’t see, the 72-year-old former talk show host was hospitalized on November 13 and sustained burns on his face after a fire in his garage. He spent 10 days in the burn center and underwent two surgeries in that time.
In a new column for the Wall Street Journal, Jay opened up about the accident.
“But really, it was an accident, that’s all,” he wrote in his piece. “Anybody who works with their hands on a regular basis is going to have an accident at some point. If you play football, you get a concussion or a broken leg. Anything you do, there’s a risk factor.”
Jay added in a face joke, saying that “eight days later, I had a brand new face, and it’s better than what was there before.”
He concluded, “There’s nothing worse than whiny celebrities. If you joke about it, people laugh along with you.”
'Say Yes to the Dress' Star Randy Fenoli & Mete Kopal Are Engaged!
Randy Fenoli is engaged! The 58-year-old Say Yes to the Dress star proposed on Saturday (December 10) to Mete Kopal, his partner of nearly a year, at the Marmara Park Avenue hotel in New York City.
“I’m so in love. Every day I’m giddy. And every day just gets more amazing. It really does. It’s easy. It’s nothing what I thought a relationship was and nothing like I’ve ever had in the past. It’s unbelievable,” he told People in a statement.
Randy told his partner that they were going to have dinner at the Museum of Modern Art, but instead he had 50 of their friends and family waiting in the lobby of the hotel where he got down on one knee and popped the question.
“I just wanted to make it really special for him and make a memory that we would have the rest of our lives,” he said.
“I’m the king of bridal. I’ve been doing this bridal for 30 years, and I honestly just never thought it was going to happen for me,” he continued.
“And I was OK with that. I was like, ‘Honestly I have my career, I have my home, I have my dog, I have my mom,’ and I’m like, ‘I’m just going to be single the rest of my life.’ And then I met Mete.”
The two met this past January at the Marmara, where Mete was working as the restaurant and bar manager at the time. They’ve been together ever since.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
Janelle Monae Reveals Reason Behind Topless Birthday Video
Janelle Monae is celebrating! The 37-year-old Knives Out superstar made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and opened up about celebrating their birthday in Mexico last week.
During the appearance, Janelle said that friends surprise them with a mystery vacation every year since breaking out in the music industry in 2010, admitting they “could not afford” to take trips until “I became known a bit.”
Janelle previously went to Jamaica and Las Vegas, and each night of the trip has a different theme.
On the first night, Janelle said the theme was “intergalactic,” and they put their outfit together last minute
“I do think someone forgot to tell me the memo… but I had this in my closet,” Janelle said. “Obviously I’m an android, I’m an alien. I just have these things lying around.”
“I hope these are what aliens look like, I really do!” Jimmy joked.
Janelle said the rest of the night was a “hot sexy tea party” themed night where guests wore lingerie, followed by a murder mystery night. There was also a “wine night where … your clothes need to match your favorite white wine or your favorite red wine.”
Janelle “decided to go topless,” adding: “Earlier in the day they had told me the theme and I was like, you know what, it’s my birthday I just want to be free! I want to be like so free and I want to let it all hang out. So they were all dressed and I was topless.”
“Oh you really threw the whole party! Well, it makes sense because you take the top off the wine!” Jimmy joked, asking if relatives were there. “You can’t have an uncle there when you’re topless, that would be weird.”
“You know what, no. Personally I don’t love that but my family knows… I’m the one in the family that pushes the envelope,” Janelle added.
“Here’s the thing. I wasn’t all the way topless, what I had them do — which meant a lot to me because they’re a community that has uplifted me from my hard times — I had them put temporary tats on me like hearts and stars to cover my nips and everything. It was just all of their love, how they saw me, they got to adorn my body and I wore that the whole day.”
#BoxOfficeNews: Wakanda Forever hangs on as the pre-Avatar box office slows to a crawl
The U.S. box office moves like the ocean. It goes in and out at the whims of the moon or whatever, pulling back weakly and then surging forward with strength. We just made that up on the spot and don’t really know if it’s true, but if it is, we’re definitely in one of those “pull back” weekends, because nobody went to the movies in the United States over the last few days. How much nobody are we talking about? Well, this was one of the lowest-grossing weekends of the year, hitting depths that we haven’t seen since January when everyone just kept half-heartedly buying tickets to Spider-Man: No Way Home like it was a third helping of Thanksgiving dinner. You don’t need it or want it, but they put in so much work making it that you don’t want to seem disrespectful.
As for this weekend, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is still hanging out on top, making just over $11 million in its fifth week on the charts (bringing it to a little over $400 million total). Second place went to Violent Night, the film that dared to ask what would happen if Die Hard were a Christmas movie, which made $8.7 million for a total of $26 million after two weeks. Then we have Strange World with $3.6 million and $30 million after three weeks, followed by The Menu ($2.7 million and $29 million total) and Devotion ($2 million and $16 million total).
Finishing out the top 10 are Black Adam (a movie that Dwayne Johnson personally reached out to tell us was actually a huge hit), The Fabelmans, I Heard The Bells (of course the violent Santa movie made $8 million more than this CHRISTmas movie), Spoiler Alert, and Ticket To Paradise (the fact that it’s on here is either an indication of how popular/unpopular Peacock is or how slow the box office was this weekend). The notable newcomer further down the charts is The Whale, which debuted with a limited rollout on six screens and made $360,000—that’s a lot for six screens!
But, as was the case a month or so ago when the box office slowed way down to make room for Wakanda Forever, the real story here is what opens next week: Avatar: The Way Of Water. Are the Avatar-faithful right and it will be the biggest movie ever? Will James Cameron be vindicated after more than a decade of cracks about the original movie’s weird cultural irrelevance? Will everyone be excited to see Sam Worthington again for the first time since 2009?
Until next week, here’s the top 10 again, courtesy of Box Office Mojo.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Violent Night
Strange World
The Menu
Devotion
Black Adam

Salamondra says she got a disturbing call from someone and she didn’t even know who it was, but the person told her that her friends were fighting her on the trip and hung up the phone. “I got a call that they were over there fighting that girl and that’s the way they left it just like that.” She said
Later after receiving that disturbing call, Salamondra says she confronted the so called “friends” about the call she received when they visited her at her Charlotte home. “They was crying and said they never had a fight they even sat there and said what they were picking out to wear to the funeral.” She added.
Joe Exotic Calls for His Release Following Brittney Griner’s Prison Swap
Joe Exotic is pleased with prisoner swap that freed Brittney Griner.
In newly released audio obtained by TMZ, the 59-year-old Tiger King star criticized the deal as a “slap in the face” to every American who is wrongly detained. Joe—legal name Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage—is currently serving a 21-year-prison sentence for animal abuse charges and a murder-for-hire attempt on his longtime rival and Tiger King co-star, Carole Baskin.
Joe reiterated his innocence in the recording and urged President Joe Biden to secure his freedom. He questioned why the United States government was so quick to negotiate Griner’s release, while he and other “wrongfully detained” Americans remained behind bars. The audio surfaced nearly 10 months after Griner, a 32-year-old WNBA star, was arrested in Russia for allegedly bringing hash oil to a Moscow airport. Griner ultimately pleaded guilty to smuggling drugs into the country, and was sentenced to nine years in Russian prison.
On Thursday, the Biden administration announced that Griner was heading home, after Russia agreed to release the athlete in exchange for Viktor Bout—a Russian arms dealer who spent the last decade in a U.S. prison for multiple terrorism charges.
“The whole Brittney Griner and Trevor Reed prisoner swap is a slap in every American’s face that is wrongfully detained in the American Federal Prison System, including myself,” Joe said in the recording. “A dangerous man was released for Brittney Griner to be free. It’s time Joe Exotic gets to go home for Christmas to be home with [boyfriend] Seth and his son for the first time in 5 Christmases.”
Ice Cube Not Looking to Battle LL Cool J or Sacarface Via Verzus Because He Admires Them
*Ice Cube (real name O’Shea Jackson Sr.) is not here to compete against those he views as industry greats. During an appearance on the Bootleg Kev Podcast alongside fellow #MountWestmore members #TooShort and #E40, the #NWA veteran discussed why he declined invitations to compete against #LLCoolJ and #Scarface in #Verzuz battles and how he had a different idea in mind.
Ice Cube said, “I think they was talking LL at one point, they was talking Scarface at one point. I said, ‘No.’ Verzuz is good, but my concept would have been, ‘Yo, I’m a fan. You do this song for me.’ Like, okay, I get to have LL do my favorite LL songs and he gon’ have me do my favorite Ice Cube songs.”
He continued, “And it’s not Verzuz, but it’s love. It’s like, ‘Yo, do this, and he do ‘Rock the Bells,’ and he asks me, ‘Yo, do ‘Once Upon a Time in the Projects.’ That would have been my concept.”
The rapper/actor made it clear that his decision not to participate in the battle was not influenced by the competition itself, but by the fact that he isn’t interested in competing against people he respects and cares deeply about. Ice Cube added, “I can’t go against people I admire. LL is an OG to me in the game, so I can’t see it. Me and Scarface love each other, but we don’t communicate enough to do a Verzuz together…”
Thom Browne Launches Women’s Pre-Fall 2023 Collection
Beginning in January 2023, Thom Browne will be the next chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The New York designer succeeds Tom Ford who held the position for three years. Brown was elected unanimously by the CFDA’s board of directors (which includes Ford) for a two-year term.
Before joining the CFDA in 2005, Brown launched his label in 2003. As of today, Brown has won the CFDA’s Menswear Designer of the Year award three times, in 2006, 2013 and 2015. He also serves on the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s selection committee. By 2018, Ermenegildo Zegna bought 85 per cent of the company, valuing the brand at $500 million.
Brown is known for his mastery of tailoring and made-to-measure suits. Since its founding, the brand has grown to include full ready-to-wear men’s and women’s collections, accessories, footwear and fragrance, and runway shows in Paris and New York.
Browne, determined to inspire the next generation of designers said, “My most important message is that everyone should have all the opportunities to thrive as designers, but the core of this success has to start from pure creativity. It is the mission of the CFDA to support and encourage new voices and new designers to parlay their creativity into a unique and singular level of success. As designers, it is our responsibility to provoke…to educate… to entertain…to make laugh and to make cry…and, most importantly, to make beautiful clothes and to succeed in nurturing the next generation of American design.”
As he gears up to step into this new role next month, Browne is showing pre-fall. This commercially centered collection aims to balance creative inspiration from the classic book “Moby Dick.” The literary work of art is conveyed through fantastical silhouettes, seafaring embroideries, and marine mammal shaped handbags. The collection spans classic tweeds, tailoring and proportions, showing elongated single and double-breasted jackets with pleated skirts, and cropped sweaters or twinsets with low-waist pencil skirts for the Gen Z set. Playing on a new trend, the line features micro minidresses made from suiting fabric paired with cable knit tights and duck shoes. Colors paint the collection in pastel pink, pale gray, and darker colors like navy and clean all black looks.
Amazon Ends Program To Thank Drivers One Day After It Began
Amazon announced that a new program to thank the company’s delivery drivers with a tip has ended just one day after it began.
The online retailer implemented a program to send the drivers of the first 1 million “thank-yous” a $5 tip. Shoppers could send the thank-yous through an Alexa, Alexa-enabled device, or the Amazon shopping app by saying, “Alexa, thank my driver.”
In addition to the $5 tips, five drivers with the most thank-yous would receive $10,000. Amazon was also set to give $10,000 to each of the top five drivers’ charity of choice.
One day after it began, all the company-backed tips were given out.
“‘Alexa, thank my driver’ exceeded our expectations. We’re glad to see customers interested in thanking their drivers and encourage them to continue doing so,” said the company’s spokesperson, Lauran Samaha, in a statement to USA Today.
Samaha said drivers will still receive any thank-yous sent even though the $5 tip has ended.
The promotion began as reports surfaced that Amazon was facing a lawsuit from Washington, D.C., for stealing tips from drivers. The company is accused of changing its payment policies in 2016, making it so drivers did not receive all of their tips.
A spokesperson for Amazon told the outlet in a statement that the lawsuit is without merit.
“Nothing is more important to us than customer trust,” Maria Boschetti said in the statement. “This lawsuit involves a practice we changed three years ago and is without merit — all of the customer tips at issue were already paid to drivers as part of a settlement last year with the FTC.”
Reporter Who Witnessed Grant Wahl’s Death Says They Waited For Defibrillator But It Never Came
More details continue to unfold surrounding the death of journalist Grant Wahl, who collapsed at Lusail Iconic Stadium in Doha while covering a World Cup Match.
Times correspondent Josh Glancy witnessed Wahl’s collapse during the match between Argentina and Netherlands and recalled the events that led to his death.
“Why wasn’t there a defibrillator? That was the question we kept asking each other, as the medics pumped and pumped to no avail,” Glancy wrote, noting that medics performed COR on Wahl for several minutes. “At this billion-dollar state-of-the-art stadium, which has a VIP suite so lavish it includes a bedroom, which will host the World Cup final, why was there no defibrillator to hand? Many minutes passed, and we kept expecting it to come. But it never did.”
His cause of death remains unknown, although his brother Eric Wahl has said he suspects it was the result of foul play. Grant himself said earlier in the week that he had come down with “a case of bronchitis.”
Glancy mentioned in his piece that, “a panicked voice rang out from the press box” seeking a medic to assist Wahl who was “clearly suffering some form of attack or seizure.”
A journalist with first aid training and two medics rushed to Wahl’s side, Glancy added, while medics “kept pumping.” Wahl was eventually carried out on a stretcher. Just minutes before he was tweeting about the match, Glancy’s piece reads.
“On the pitch, the penalty shoot-out concluded. Argentina won. Holland lost. Who cared,” Glancy wrote. “The gloating of the Argentine victors seemed unbearably pathetic. The distress of the defeated Dutch, stricken in the center circle, somehow trivial and banal in the face of a widow about to receive the worst phone call imaginable. The magic spell of football had been broken. The only important thing was that a good man had inexplicably lost his life.”
On Thursday, Wahl talked about having bronchitis on an episode of Fútbol with Grant Wahl podcast, PEOPLE reported. While he claimed he was “slightly better,” he also admitted he was not at “100 percent” as he prepared to attend the Friday match.
“My body told me, even after the U.S. went out, ‘Dude, you are not sleeping enough,’ and it rebelled on me. So I’ve had a case of bronchitis this week,” he said. “I’ve been to the medical clinic at the media center twice now, including today. I’m feeling better today, I basically canceled everything on this Thursday, that I had, and napped.”
