#RHOA: HOT or NOT? Kandi Burruss Paired a Sparkling Black Gown with Long Gloves for Porsha’s Wedding
Kandi Burruss Paired a Sparkling Black Gown with Long Gloves for Porsha’s Wedding
When it comes to a wedding guest look, Kandi Burruss is always on top. Earlier this year, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member reunited with two alums — Porsha Williams and Eva Marcille — for the luxurious wedding of Da Brat and Jesseca “Judy” Dupart. For the occasion, Kandi rocked a sleek and stunning hot pink velvet midi dress with spaghetti straps and a deep V neckline, completing the look with strappy black heels with bejeweled embellishments, a sparkling necklace and cuff, and a short hair chop.
Now, Kandi has again reunited with Porsha, but this time for the RHOA alum’s wedding to Simon Guobadia over the weekend (actually, two weddings!). Kandi turned up in serious fashion, wearing a sparkling black turtleneck-style sleeveless gown with a high leg slit, as seen in the photos below taken by Will Sterling. The mom of three accessorized the look with long black opera gloves, strappy black heels, and silver drop earrings. She rocked a “heat free” half updo and long braid by Derek Jae and smoky eye glam by Kiara.
“Congratulations to the [Guobadias]! It was a wonderful celebration of love!” the songwriter captioned the slew of photos, which also featured her husband, Todd Tucker, in a dapper all-black suit.
“GORG,” wrote one of Porsha’s bridesmaids and RHOA familiar face, Shamea Morton.
“Hell yeah [K]andi,” commented The Real Housewives of Dubai’s Chanel Ayan, adding numerous fire emojis for good measure.

#HipHopNews: LL Cool J To Receive Entertainment Icon Award At 5th Annual Urban One Honors
One Honors have announced its “Icons of the Culture” honorees to be recognized for their “indelible mark in the categories of Entertainment Icon, Lifetime Achievement, Inspirational Impact, and Music Innovation,” over the years.
Two-time Grammy-winning MC and NAACP Image Award winner James Todd Smith a.k.a LL Cool J has been revealed as the recipient of the Entertainment Icon honor.
With another legend receiving the first-ever Phoenix Honor, the “Rock The Bells” MC will be highlighted along with Inspirational Impact honorees David Mann and his wife, Grammy award-winning gospel singer, Tamela Mann.
Since the early ’80s, LL Cool J has made his mark on Hip-Hop and continued to vouch for the foundations of the genre that he and so many others helped to build.
Last September, the 54-year-old had to check millennial podcaster DJ Akademiks for deeming veteran MCs as “dusty” and not “living good” financially.
In an Instagram video, LL passionately had to let the media personality know. “When Hip Hop first started, there were no managers, and there were no accountants that believed in it [Hip-Hop],” HE expressed. “Record companies didn’t even believe in it. Nobody believed in it. How can you make a 5-year plan or a 10-year plan on something that doesn’t even exist yet?”
The “Mama Said Knock You Out” artist added: “I’m all about getting paper. I’ve been talking about it my whole career. But don’t ever, ever, ever confuse being rich with making a contribution to our culture. Don’t ever play yourself like that again!”
The Queens, N.Y. native and G.O.A.T then proceeded to cite innovators of other genres, such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane, as examples of artists who are esteemed without mention of their financial assets.
The Urban One Honors aims to “herald the accomplishments of individuals” like LL “who have made extraordinary contributions in entertainment, media, music, education, and the community.” This year, R&B singer and actor Tank will host the main stage, as Grammy award-winning singer and actress LeToya Luckett delivers exclusive backstage interviews with the show’s honorees, performers, and presenters.
The ceremony will include performances from singer Keke Wyatt with an anticipated 50th anniversary of Hip Hop celebration featuring DJ Spinderella, Monie Love, and Doug E. Fresh. Rev. Run and Lamman Rucker of TV One’s Bad Dad Rehab: The Next Session are also slated to make an appearance.
Taped in Atlanta, the two-hour telecast will air on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day—Monday, Jan. 16, 2023— on TV One and Cleo TV at 8 p.m. ET.
Will Smith Says He 'Understands' If Moviegoers Aren't Ready To Watch New Film After Oscars Slap
Will Smith is set to return in his first movie since the Oscars controversy, but he knows not everyone may want to see it.
In a new interview, the actor said he would “completely understand” if there was hesitation from moviegoers who may not be ready to watch Emancipation when it hits theaters this Friday.
“I completely understand that,” he told Fox 5. “If someone is not ready, I would absolutely respect that and allow them their space to not be ready.”
Emancipation is Smith’s first major movie role since he slapped Chris Rock after the comedian told a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, at the 94th Academy Awards in March.
But Smith is less concerned about himself and fears that the rest of the film’s cast and crew could be hurt by his actions.
“My deepest concern is my team,” he said. “The people on this team have done some of the best work of their entire careers. And my deepest hope is that my actions don’t penalize my team. So at this point, that’s what I’m working for. That’s what I’m hoping for. I’m hoping that the material, the power of the film, the timeliness of the story–I’m hoping that the good that can be done would open people’s hearts, at a minimum, to see and recognize and support the incredible artists in and around this film.”
Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Equalizer), Emancipation is based on the real-life story of a slave who escaped a plantation in Louisiana and joined the Union Army. In addition to Smith, the film stars Ben Foster and Charmaine Bingwa.
Smith apologized to Rock following the incident for which he was banned from returning to the Oscars for the next 10 years.
“I am deeply remorseful and I’m trying to be remorseful without being ashamed of myself,” Smith said in an emotional video in September. “I’m human and I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of sh*t.”
Emancipation premieres in theaters on Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 on Apple TV+.
Kyla Pratt’s Ex-Manager Sues Actress Over Alleged Unpaid 'Call Me Kat' Commissions
Actress Kyla Pratt is accused of refusing to pay her managers who helped secure her a role on Fox sitcom Call Me Kat, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the management company Industry Entertainment Partners has filed a lawsuit against Pratt for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and negligent misrepresentation.
In the suit, Industry Entertainment said that Pratt entered into a personal management agreement with it in August 2018. The company said it has managed the star for over 2 years.
As part of their agreement, Industry said Pratt agreed verbally and in written to pay commissions from her earnings from the Fox sitcom, Call Me Kat.
“Pratt has performed in Call Me Kat and related projects. However, despite the parties’ agreement Pratt has refused to pay all the amounts she owed to [Industry Entertainment Partners].”
The company said despite numerous demands for payments, Pratt has failed to make the payments. The lawsuit said at the time the agreement was entered into, Pratt made “material misrepresentations to [Industry Entertainment Partners] concerning her intentions to pay [Industry Entertainment Partners] the commissions arising from her earnings from Call Me Kat and related projects. However, Pratt had no reasonable ground to believe that she will actually pay [Industry Entertainment Partners’] commissions in full and made misrepresentations with the intent of continuing to obtain [Industry Entertainment Partners’] artist and management services.”
The suit demands Pratt be ordered to pay unspecified damages and restitution for her actions.
Pratt was added to Call Me Kat in the third season. The show stars Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz and the late Leslie Jordan.

Balenciaga apologizes for kinky ad featuring children and harness-wearing teddy bears
The Spanish fashion company said it's sorry for the "unsettling documents in our campaign.”
Balenciaga apologized Tuesday for an advertising campaign that featured young children posing with teddy bears that appeared to be dressed in BDSM costumes.
The famed label suggested that the images displayed in its name didn't have company approval and threatened legal action against any content creators behind the ad campaign.
Another Balenciaga ad image appeared to show an excerpt from a 2008 U.S. Supreme Court case that upheld federal statutes on pornography that includes minors.
"We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot," the company wrote in a statement posted to its Instagram Story.
"We strongly condemn abuse of children in any form. We stand for children safety and well-being."
The company said it took immediate action as soon as the images were flagged.
“We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused," said the company statement. "Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms."
Representatives for Kering, the French luxury goods corporation that owns Balenciaga, and the Spanish fashion house itself could not be immediately reached for comment on Wednesday.
Balenciaga was one of the high-profile apparel companies that cut ties last month with Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, over his antisemitic remarks.
'Harry Potter' Parody By 'Weird Al' Yankovic Shut Down By Warner Bros.
"Weird Al" Yankovic was reportedly banned by Warner Bros. from parodying the "Harry Potter" theme. The 63-year-old musician told The Hollywood Reporter he was shut down but asking permission to rework "Hedwig's Theme".
The singer himself was recently played by Daniel Radcliffe, the titular star in the wizarding series, in his new biopic "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story". Known for his satirical songs, he has offered his own twist on songs including the "Star Wars" theme and "Gangsta's Paradise" from "Dangerous Minds" in the past.
He said, "Whenever it was, about a decade or two ago, I approached the movie company just to get a general blessing like, 'Hey, I'd like to do a Harry Potter parody.' And I think they said no, or they never responded or whatever. But sometimes when you're dealing with franchises, and you ask permission, you know, there's so many people that can say no, and they usually do."
THR has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment.
Al joked the snub had taught him a lesson for future parodies. He said, "If I'm doing a franchise, it's usually better just to do it and ask for forgiveness rather than permission."
But the "Gump' singer is still a fan of the "Harry Potter" series and joked "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" is his favourite movie in the saga. He quipped, "We like to think that that's the last movie of the Harry Potter franchise."
And actor Daniel joked the whole movie could be viewed as the parody Al never got to record. He said, "Maybe that's what this film is. This has been his way of doing a 'Harry Potter' parody."
Steven Spielberg Ditches Gotham Awards Appearance After Testing Positive For Covid-19
Steven Spielberg was a no-show at the Gotham Awards after testing positive for COVID-19. The iconic 75-year-old filmmaker was supposed to appear at the ceremony in New York on Monday night, November 28 to present Michelle Williams with a performer tribute, but he was instead replaced by Paul Dano, who co-starred with the actress in Spielberg's "The Fabelmans".
"Michelle said, 'I remember just driving around town looking for work.' And I thought, 'Imagine if that teenage girl knew that at the midpoint of her career she'd be seeing a tribute award at the Gothams from none other than Steven Spielberg, and what would she have thought?' " Dano told the audience as he recalled being with Williams at the film's Hollywood premiere.
"Then I thought, 'Well, what if we had to tell that girl that Steven got COVID?' She'd be like, 'What's COVID?' And that 'Paul Dano was going to introduce you?' She'd be like, 'Who the f*** is Paul Dano?' "
In "The Fabelmans" which is semi-autobiographical and based on Spielberg's parents, Williams plays the director's mother and she paid tribute to her late "Dawson's Creek" co-star Mary Beth Peil for helping her acting career. She said in her acceptance speech, "I wouldn't have known how to handle being Steven Spielberg's mother without having been Mary Beth's granddaughter."
In a statement announcing the award last month, Jeffrey Sharp - executive director of The Gotham Film And Media Institute - heaped praise on Williams for her work. He said in a statement, "We are exceptionally proud to honor Michelle Williams, whose iconic performances in collaboration with our most renowned directors have defined her as a leading talent of her generation."
"Michelle is a true New Yorker and we are thrilled to claim her as one of our own by recognising her with a Performer Tribute at this year's Gotham Awards."
Elon Musk's Ex-Wife Disputes His Story About Their Baby's Dying Moments
Elon Musk's first ex-wife Justine has disputed his account of their infant son's dying moments. Justine, with has five other children with Elon, claimed it was she, and not the entrepreneur, who held their 10-week-old boy Nevada as he was taken off life support.
Last week, the Tesla billionaire spoke out about losing his first child Nevada Alexander Musk to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as he explained his decision not to allow Sandy Hook elementary shooting conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to return to Twitter, which he bought for $44 billion.
He said, "My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat. I have no mercy for anyone who would use the deaths of children for gain, politics or fame."
When one of Elon's followers asked if the infant had died of SIDS, Justine responded, "A SIDS-related incident that put him on life support. He was declared brain-dead. And not that it matters to anyone except me, because it is one of the most sacred and defining moments of my life, but I was the one who was holding him." She later added, "The details are just really important to me."
Justine previously relived Nevada's death in an article for Marie Claire magazine in which she said, "By the time paramedics resuscitated him, he had been deprived of oxygen for so long that he was brain-dead. He spent three days on life support in a hospital in Orange County before we made the decision to take him off it. I held him in my arms when he died."
Elon and Justine had their five other children before divorcing in 2008 and the billionaire has two kids with singer Grimes and twins with Shivon Zilis, a director at his Neuralink firm.
A Protester with rainbow flag runs onto field at World Cup
A protester ran onto the field Monday carrying a rainbow flag and wearing a blue Superman T-shirt that said “SAVE UKRAINE” on the front and “RESPECT FOR IRANIAN WOMAN” on the back during a World Cup match between Portugal and Uruguay.
Security officials chased the protester down and the flag was dropped on the field before the person was escorted away. The referee then picked up the flag and left it on the sideline, where it stayed for a few moments before a worker came and collected it.
The protester was ushered away through a tunnel. It wasn’t immediately clear if the person faced any charges or had been detained by police.
FIFA had no immediate comment on the incident.
In the first week of the tournament in Qatar, seven European teams lost the battle to wear multi-colored “One Love” armbands during World Cup matches. Fans also complained they weren’t allowed to bring items with rainbow colors, a symbol of LGBTQ rights, into the stadiums of the conservative Islamic emirate.
Singapore repeals gay sex ban but limits prospect of legalizing same-sex marriage
Qatar’s laws against gay sex and treatment of LGBTQ people were flashpoints in the run-up to the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East. Qatar has said everyone was welcome, including LGBTQ fans, but that visitors should respect the nation’s culture.
The incident occurred during the second half of the game at Lusail Stadium.

Megan Thee Stallion has officially made history as the first Black woman to cover Forbes 30 Under 30 issue.
“It’s really hard to be the first something in 2022, so ahhhhh,” Megan Thee Stallion said in response to the news. “I want to be bigger than just my music. I feel like I’ve always like to dibble and dab in a lot of different things and I feel like I got that from my mom and my dad.”
She added, “I could be Megan Thee Stallion. I could be creative. I could be Megan, the student. I’ma get my degree.”

Megan The Stallion first landed on Forbes’ annual 30 Under 30 list in 2019, but now the Houston native sat down with Forbes senior writer Jabari Young to discuss her rising empire for her cover story. It has been reported that she has made about $13 million this year from her music, ticket sales, and endorsements. “I can’t slow down right now,” she told the publication. “I’ll take a break when I’m dead. I’m trying to really build something. When I start sitting, I feel like I’m not doing enough or I’m giving somebody else the opportunity to pass me.”
The “WAP” hitmaker also said that one of the biggest lessons she’s learned about the business side of music is to “save your money.” “I still haven’t made a stupid, crazy purchase. My jewelry is expensive, and my house was expensive, outside of that, I’m not buying 100 cars. Learn how to make your money work for you,” she added.
Deshaun Watson To Start For Cleveland Browns After Serving 11-Game Suspension
Deshaun Watson at Cleveland Browns preseason game wearing a white jersey and camoflage hat.
Deshaun Watson was officially reinstated on Monday (Nov. 28) and will start for the Cleveland Browns in their upcoming Sunday, Dec. 4 game against his former team, the Houston Texans. The 27-year-old missed 11 games due to being suspended for breaking the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Specifically, 24 women filed civil lawsuits against the Pro Bowler, alleging that he engaged in sexual misconduct while receiving massages. The Clemson University graduate was able to confidentially settle 23 out of the 24 suits after previously denying any wrongdoing and two grand juries refusing to indict him.
The former Houston Texan’s suspension cost him $5.69 million which, along with an additional $2 million donated between the quarterback and the NFL, went into a fund to support the prevention of sexual misconduct and assault, among other things. “This fund will support the work of non-profit organizations across the country that educate young people on healthy relationships, promote education and prevention of sexual misconduct and assault, support survivors, and related causes,” the NFL said back in August.
This is a welcome return for the Browns, who are currently 4-7 under the leadership of Jacoby Brissett. Having lost Odell Beckham and Baker Mayfield over the years, their playoff hopes were low. Fortunate for Cleveland, Watson had previously led the Texans to playoffs berths in 2018 and 2019 and led the league in passing in 2020. Time will tell whether he will be able to give the Browns the boost they need to make a postseason push, but kicking things off against his former team will surely add some motivation.
Pusha T Speaks Out On Kanye West: 'It's Been Disappointing'
Pusha T is breaking his silence about Kanye West. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Push spoke out for the first time about the controversy surrounding his longtime friend and collaborator.
He admitted that Ye’s hateful comments have impacted him, and makes no excuses for his behavior.
“It’s definitely affected me. It’s been disappointing,” said Push. “As a Black man in America, there is no room for bigotry or hate speech. So yeah. It’s been very disappointing, let’s talk straight.”
Pusha is just one of the few of Ye’s peers to speak out in the wake of his hateful outbursts including racist, anti-Semitic language.
During the interview, Push also reflected on his friendship with West, who executive produced his chart-topping album It’s Almost Dry alongside Pharrell Williams.
“Creatively, Ye has meant freedom to me,” he said. “A lot of times, people would try to get me to change certain things about my process, change certain things about me lyrically, change certain things about the content. He never has been like that. He always saw me for who I was and knew how to take it to the next level.”
Released in April, It’s Almost Dry earned Pusha his first No. 1 album and another Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.
“With It’s Almost Dry, it was to make the purest, most uncompromised hip-hop album I could,” he recalled. “That meant the lyricism had to be A-1, and I felt it would be eventful to pit Pharrell Williams versus Ye. These two producers are hip-hop at its purest core. The passion between the three of us alone is enough to know that you’re gonna get the album of the year.”
Hip-hop has lost some of its brightest young stars in recent years including Takeoff, Pop Smoke, Young Dolph, and PnB Rock. Push, who welcomed his son Nigel in June 2020, admits he is more calculated with the way he moves.
“I definitely move with caution. Like I said, I’m always trying to get home to my son,” he said. “Some of the risks that I used to take, just being out and about for no reason at all, I don’t really do that too much. It has been very sad to read about all this young talent that’s passed away. You don’t even have to know people to feel that.”

Jay Leno Returns to Stage 2 Weeks After Burn Accident
Two weeks after suffering serious burns in a fuel fire, the 72-year-old comedian returned to the stage on Sunday for a performance at The Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California.
"I never thought of myself as a roast comic," Leno joked to reporters including NBC News as he arrived at the venue. "We have two shows tonight — regular and extra crispy."
He added, "I feel good, thanks you guys."
A frequent performer at the comedy spot, Leno's show on Sunday was sold-out, a club spokesperson told CNN. The former Tonight Show host performed for more than an hour.
"He looked great and he had a lot of stamina," one clubgoer told NBC News afterwards, another explaining that Leno was "full of energy" during his standup set and "told joke after joke after joke."
Despite the laughs, Leno's condition was no joking manner when he first was admitted to the Grossman Burn Center on Nov. 12 after suffering second- and third-degree burns on his face, chest and hands in a garage gasoline fire.
For more on Jay Leno, listen below to our daily podcast PEOPLE Every Day.
The car aficionado and star of Jay Leno's Garage was working on a steam engine underneath a car in his garage around 12:30 p.m. when the blaze broke out. The Burbank Fire Department responded to the incident, transporting him to the renowned center where he underwent a series of surgical excision and grafting procedures for his burns.
"Some of the burns to the face are a little deeper and a little more concerning," Dr. Peter Grossman, medical director at the Grossman Burn Center, said shortly after the accident, noting that Leno lucky hadn't experienced any notable nerve damage. "I do anticipate him making a full recovery. Whether they'll be remnants of this injury, it's still too early to tell. I'd say that his injuries are serious, his condition is good."
Leno was similarly optimistic, speaking two days after the incident in a statement shared with PEOPLE. "I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire," he said. "I am okay. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet."
He did just that, leaving the facility after a 10-day stint on Nov. 21 and happily smiling with the staff on his way out. He returned the next day to drop off thank-you gifts.
"Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes," doctors said in a statement at the time. "He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday."
Follow-up treatments will continue for Leno at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic, they added.
In the meantime, Leno has further standup sets scheduled for the rest of the year, including multiple shows at the The Comedy and Magic Club on Dec. 4, 11, and 18. Tickets are on sale now.
Metallica Announces New Album, ‘72 Seasons,’ and Two-Year World Tour
Metallica has confirmed the title and release date of its forthcoming 12th studio album: “72 Seasons” will be available April 14, 2023 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with founding members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track album is Metallica’s first full length collection of new material since 2016’s “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.”
The band has dropped the first single from the album, “Lux Æterna,” a three-and-a-half-minute-long blast that recalls the band’s early albums, which got a big revival with the prominent use of their 1986 classic “Master of Puppets” in the series “Stranger Things” earlier this year.
Metallica to Play Special Concert Honoring Their Original Label's Founders, Megaforce Records' Jonny and Marsha Zazula
The 'Stranger Things' Effect: How Needle Drops Can Catapult Classic Songs
Speaking on the concept of the album title, James Hetfield said: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.” The full tracklist appears below.
’72 Seasons’ tracklist:
72 Seasons
Shadows Follow
Screaming Suicide
Sleepwalk My Life Away
You Must Burn!

The band has also announced a massive series of concerts for 2023 and 2024. Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only) and promoted by Live Nation, Metallica’s M72 world tour will see the band playing two nights in every city it visits — with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The M72 tour will feature a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the I Disappear full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age.
Two-day tickets will be on sale Friday, December 2. Single day tickets will be available beginning January 20th. For further information including fan club presales, enhanced experiences and more, go to metallica.com/m72-info.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation. Founded in 2017, AWMH’s efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.
Citi is the official card of the M72 Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets in the U.S. beginning Wednesday, November 30th at 2:00 pm local time until Thursday, December 1st at 10:00 pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program.

Cardi B Says She's Struggling To Make Offset Happy After Takeoff's Death
Cardi B has been struggling to make Offset smile following Takeoff’s death.
The rapper revealed that she and her husband have tried to carry on with their lives after the tragedy, but it’s been difficult to cope with the grief.
“We’re living our life normally, but deep down inside our hearts have been so heavy,” she said on Instagram Live.
Cardi admitted that they feel hesitant to express their feelings on social media. “I feel like if I talk about–the internet’s so desensitized–I feel like if we talk about how we really feel, what motherfu**ers really been going through, y’all would start saying, ‘Oh sympathy.’ And we don’t want no sympathy. We ain’t no charity case.”
Cardi went on to admit that she has tried to bring some happiness into Offset’s life, but it’s been hard. “But no lie, I have been feeling so hopeless trying to make my husband happy, trying to make him crack a smile, fu**in’ seeing him randomly cry, trying to distract his mind.”
It’s been a few weeks since Takeoff was fatally shot outside a Houston bowling alley. Cardi B says that people are starting to feel more “comfortable with trying to be funny” and talking “slick,” but she’s not having it.
“We not in the mood to be fu**in’ playing around with y’all,” she warned. “I will deadass kill y’all. Stop fu**in’ playin’.”
Offset has turned to his family for support during the heartbreaking time. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, he was seen playing basketball with his children. Following Takeoff’s memorial, he shared another emotional tribute to his cousin.
“Missing everything bout you specially that smile,” he captioned a photo of Takeoff.
Florida Woman Suing Kraft for $5M, Claiming Microwavable Mac & Cheese Takes Longer to Prepare Than the 3 1/2 Minutes Advertised on Box
A Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against Kraft Heinz Foods Company, claiming its Velveeta’s Microwavable Shells and Cheese Cups take longer to prepare than the time stated on the box.
Amanda Ramirez, of Hialeah, has filed a proposed $5 million class action lawsuit against Kraft Heinz Foods Company, alleging the food producer’s Velveeta Shells & Cheese takes longer than advertised to prepare, court documents show.
The class-action suit filed in U.S. District claims that Kraft misled consumers by advertising that the product takes 3.5 minutes until it is ready to be consumed when that is only the amount of time it should be microwaved.
According to the complaint, attorneys for Ramirez filed the lawsuit in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida on November 18.
The complaint also said that the front of the box reads “Ready in 3 1/2 minutes.” However, the instructions list four steps in making the mac and cheese, and one of them is “Microwave for 3 1/2 minutes.”
The preparation time is longer when you factor in all the steps, which include: removing a cup’s lid and cheese sauce pouch, adding water to the cup’s fill line and stirring, and finally going into the contents of the cheese sauce pouch, per the suit.
The lawsuit needed to indicate how long the entire preparation process took. However, it points out that the mac and cheese would need to be cooked in the microwave for less than 3.5 minutes for it to be ready to eat, start to finish, in that timeframe.
According to the lawsuit, the product is sold at a “premium price” of around $10.99 for eight 2.39 oz cups, which is higher than similar products “represented in a non-misleading way.”
Kraft Heinz Foods Company dismissed the lawsuit as “frivolous” in a statement.
“We are aware of this frivolous lawsuit and will strongly defend against the allegations in the complaint,” a Kraft Heinz Foods Company spokesperson told CNN Monday.
As a result, the suit claims that Kraft Heinz “sold more of the Product and a higher prices than it would have in the absence of this misconduct, resulting in additional profits at the expense of consumers.”
Ramirez claims she would not have purchased the product or paid what she did for it “had she known the truth.”
The lawsuit accuses Kraft Heinz Food Company of violating state and federal laws against deceptive and unfair practices, fraud, false and misleading advertising, breach of express warranty, negligent misrepresentation, and unjust enrichment.
In addition to the $5 million in damages, the plaintiff also seeks punitive damages from Kraft Heinz Foods Company and asks the company “be ordered to cease its deceptive advertising” as well as “be made to engage in a corrective advertising campaign,” according to court documents.
