#RHOA: It’s Official Porsha Williams Marries Simon Guobadia

Porsha Williams got her happy ending. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 41, has married entrepreneur Simon Guobadia, 57, her rep confirms to E! News.

According to People, the couple wed in a Nigerian native law and custom ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta on Nov. 25. The outlet reported that Simon, who is from Benin City in the Edo State of Nigeria, and Porsha had traditional Benin singers and dancers perform at the ceremony.

For the reception, Porsha told the publication she wanted guests to "feel like they have taken a flight and landed in Benin."

"The whole room should be transformed with beautiful colors of browns and rose golds and tans and creams. It should be really, really beautiful and give you that authentic African feel," she shared, later adding, "The other thing I wanted was trees in the room. I want it to feel like an inside/outside space, but luxurious."

People noted the Bravolebrity wore three outfits on her big day—first donning a red gown by Lakimmy along with a headpiece featuring Benin coral beads and then switching into a blue gown and a gold dress, both by Tabik.

The wedding is the first of three ceremonies the couple has planned to celebrate their love, and Porsha told the publication she plans to make their wedding weekend a "true fashion extravaganza" with seven outfit changes.

Porsha had previously hinted that she wanted to have a big wedding. "I am marrying an amazing Nigerian man, honey. It is not going to be intimate," she told Bravo in April. "It is going to be huge probably. It's gonna be big, but I want it to have an intimate feel."

Simon was previously married to Porsha's former co-star Falynn Guobadia. The former couple wed in June 2019 and split in April 2021—the same month Porsha and Simon started dating.

Soon after, the Porsha's Family Matters star set the record straight on the timing of her relationship.

"For all of you that need facts," she said in a statement in May 2021. "I get the optics but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That's between the two of them"

Porsha continued, "Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon's divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody's lives."

And Falynn had something to say about her ex-husband's new relationship. "At this time, I am focusing on finalizing my divorce and healing," Falynn said in an exclusive statement to E! News. "Sending positivity to all of you."

Simon proposed to Porsha a month later with a massive emerald-cut ring—and he has the approval of her ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley and father of her daughter Pilar, 2.

In fact, Porsha spent Mother's Day 2021 with her ex and her now-husband.

"Simon and Dennis are committed to being respectful and supportive of my happiness in this situation, as well as being the best co-parents they can be to baby PJ," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "Two Black men stepping up and being amazing people-let's praise them!!!! It's truly a beautiful moment in my life & we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together."

#HipHopNews: Ed Lover Calls Out Akademiks For Dusty Rapper Comments: ‘I’m The Reason Your Ass Is On Tv’

Ed Lover has never been one to hold his tongue, and the legendary host has fired off some words in the direction of DJ Akademiks following his comments about older rappers being “dusty.”

In an interview with VladTV shared on Friday (November 25), Ed broke down how there’d be no Ak if it weren’t for the greats who came before him.

“We all stand on the shoulders of giants,” Ed Lover said. “We all stand on the shoulders of people that have done it before us. You are not the first Black man to sit behind a mic and interview people, nor will you be the last Black man. And after you, there’s gonna be somebody else.”

He went on to explain how the pioneers of any genre are never the ones who make the most money off of it, reminding Ak that there were no endorsements, festivals or anything of the sort for Hip Hop artists when they first started. Ed then added that he believes the former Everyday Struggle host should issue an apology.

“You owe all of these guys an apology. Don’t get so high up on your horse, bro. Somebody did it before you! … You are looking at the reason your ass is on television. Me, Big Tigger, everybody that came before you is the reason why you have an opportunity.

“The reason why I had the opportunity is dudes like Don Cornelius. The reason why I had the opportunity to do radio is because of dudes like Frankie Crocker, like Bugsy [Buggs]. That’s the reason why I had the opp to do what I do and now you doing what you doing because of cats like me.”

The “dusty” comments stemmed from one of Akademiks’ Twitch live streams in September.

“Them old rappers, man. Have you seen any of these old rappers who be like, yo, they’re the foundation of Hip Hop really living good?” Ak said. “Them n-ggas be looking really dusty, I kid you not. And none of y’all try to come for me ’cause I don’t fuck with y’all n-ggas either, so I’m just telling y’all the truth.”

He added: “Every time there be like an old, old n-gga talking about Hip Hop, you be like, ‘Yo, bro. You sure you invented this? ‘Cause everybody else is looking better than you.’ Facts!”

LL Cool J quickly responded in a rare appearance on Instagram Live where he lectured the controversial media personality and went on to illustrate why he believes Akademiks is “misinformed” – making similar points to the ones Ed Lover did.

Scorpio of groundbreaking Hip Hop group Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five also spoke out against Ak’s comments, as well as fellow pioneer MC Sha-Rock, The Sugarhill Gang’s Hen Dogg, Goodie Mob rapper Khujo, MC Lyte and more.

Shanquella Robinson death: Arrest warrant issued for femicide, prosecutor says

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday in the death of 25-year-old Shanquella Robinson, an American woman vacationing in Mexico, for an alleged perpetrator who was not named, according to a local prosecutor.

"This case is fully clarified, we even have a court order, there is an arrest warrant issued for the crime of femicide to the detriment of the victim and against an alleged perpetrator, a friend of her who is the direct aggressor. Actually it wasn't a quarrel, but instead a direct aggression. We are carrying out all the pertinent procedures such as the Interpol alert and the request for extradition to the United States of America. It's about two Americans, the victim and the culprit...," Daniel de la Rosa Anaya, local prosecutor for the state of Baja California Sur, said.

ABC News spoke to Shanquella Robinson's mother, Salamondra Robinson, on Wednesday and when told that there is an arrest warrant issued for the crime against her daughter and hearing the news for the first time, she responded, "I feel so good, that's a good feeling. That's what we have been waiting for, for someone to finally be held accountable and arrested. I just can't wait for justice to be served."

As FBI officials investigate the death of Robinson, Mexican authorities revealed Tuesday night that Robinson may have been alive and received care from a medical professional for several hours before authorities arrived and she was pronounced dead, ABC News has learned.

The medical professional at the scene allegedly told Robinson's friends that Robinson was drunk, dehydrated and that they should take her to a hospital. However, they declined to do so, according to authorities.

The new report differs significantly from the original autopsy report obtained by ABC News, which said medical professionals arrived at Robinson's villa at 3 p.m. and she was declared dead within 15 minutes. The autopsy said Robinson died from a severe spinal cord injury and a dislocated neck.

Authorities have not responded to ABC News' request for comment on the difference between their report and the autopsy.

According to the new police report, Robinson's friends requested a medical consultation at 2:13 p.m. After a general practitioner from the American Medical Center arrived at the address in Puerto Los Cabos, Robinson's friends told the medical professional that she had drank a lot of alcohol.

Medican personnel said they noticed Robinson had a poor verbal response, was in a state of drunkenness and was dehydrated, but had stable vital signs, according to the police report. The medical professional at the scene advised Robinson's friends to transfer her to a hospital but her friends insisted she stay at the villa, the report said.

At 4:20 p.m., Robinson began seizing, which is when one of Robinson's friends, Wenter Essence Donovan, dialed 911. As emergency medical professionals arrived, the police report said Robinson began having difficulty breathing and had a decreased pulse.

At 4:49 p.m., the general practitioner said they stopped feeling Robinson's pulse and started CPR until paramedics arrived. They continued with 14 CPR sessions and five doses of adrenaline without success. Robinson went into an asystole state (type of cardiac arrest), according to the police report. Robinson was declared deceased at 5:57 p.m., the report said

According to the new police report, Mexican authorities were notified by Donovan around 5 p.m. local time of Robinson's condition.

Donovan, and all of Robinson's friends who were with her in Cabo, have not responded to ABC News' repeated requests for comment.

The FBI opened a probe into Robinson's death earlier this month, which is being investigated by Mexican authorities as a femicide, a form of gender-based violence.

Robinson, of Charlotte, North Carolina, went to the resort city of San Jose del Cabo on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula with six friends on Oct. 28.

They stayed at a rental villa in Fundadores, an exclusive gated community with vacation homes and a private beach club, according to Robinson's family.

The next day, Robinson's parents said they got a frantic telephone call from their daughter's friends saying she had died.

With all the new and developing information, Robinson's family is still seeking answers from her friends who know what happened that weekend in Cabo. Sallamondra Robinson, the mother of Shanquella Robinson, said she's happy the FBI has stepped in to help solve her daughter's case so it "won't go in vain."

"I would like to see each one of them sent back to Mexico because their plan was to come back here thinking that they wasn't going to be prosecuted," Robinson told ABC News. "She was a caring person ... and I want them to always remember that. We're going to keep her legacy alive."

Johnny Depp Not Returning For New 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' Movie After Disney Abandons Spin-Off

Johnny Depp is not on board a new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie despite report stating otherwise. Sources debunk an earlier report which said that the actor is set to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the upcoming sixth installment of the Disney film series.

The Sun floated the rumor of Depp's alleged return to the franchise, claiming that his name has been spotted on a call sheet for a supposed new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. According to the U.K. news outlet, the 59-year-old actor is scheduled for a test shoot in the U.K. in February 2023.

Insiders told the site that the movie's current working title is "A Day at Sea". One of the sources dished, "Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow and is scheduled to start filming at the beginning of February at a top secret location in the U.K."

"Everything is in the early stages and there is still no director attached to the project, which is being called 'A Day at the Sea'," the source further spilled. "Johnny is expected to do a test shoot in early February before the production gets fully underway."

"A call sheet has been distributed among those in the know," it's additionally claimed. "Bruce Hendricks, who worked on the first three films, is named as the Executive Producer on the new project."

The source added, "All the other details are being kept under lock and key. The whole project is shrouded in secrecy and Disney want to keep everything under wraps as best they can."

However, Daily Mail's sources beg to differ, saying that the information is false. Disney has not commented on the report of Depp's return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.

Back in 2020, Disney confirmed it was developing a new female-focused version of "Pirates of the Caribbean" that would star Margot Robbie. The project would reunite the "Suicide Squad" star with her "Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn" writer Christina Hodson, with franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer producing.

Disney was also developing a second reboot written by franchise veteran Ted Elliott and "Chernobyl" creator Craig Mazin. In an interview with The Sunday Times in May, Bruckheimer said that both films remained in development, while Depp, who starred in all five past "Pirates" installments, was not involved in any future projects at the moment amid his legal battle with Amber Heard.

However, Robbie said earlier this month that the studio is no longer interested in making a female-led "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. She said in an interview with Vanity Fair, "We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led - not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story - which we thought would've been really cool. But I guess they don't want to do it."

James Cameron Saved From A Bunch Of 'Avatar' Lawsuits By Drawings He Did When He Was 19

James Cameron opens up that the "Avatar" franchise came to him in a teenage dream. The 68-year-old filmmaker is back as a director for "Avatar: The Way of Water", the long-awaited sequel to the 2009 sci-fi epic, and he explains that he first thought of the idea as a 19-year-old college student.

James put his ideas into some drawings that became very early concepts for the franchise but would have to wait a long time to get the project on the big screen.

"I woke up after dreaming of this kind of bioluminescent forest with these trees that look kind of like fibre-optic lamps and this river that was glowing bioluminescent particles and kind of purple moss on the ground that lit up when you walked on it," the "Titanic" director said in a feature for GQ magazine.

"And these kinds of lizards that didn't look like much until they took off. And then they turned into these rotating fans, kind of like living Frisbees, and they come down and land on something."

James explained that the drawings "saved us from 10 lawsuits" as nobody else could claim that they had thought of the idea. He said, "It was all in the dream. I woke up super excited and I actually drew it. So I actually have a drawing."

"It saved us from about 10 lawsuits. Any successful film, there's always some freak with tinfoil under the wig that thinks you've beamed the idea out of their head. And it turned out were 10 or 11 of them."

"And so I pointed at this drawing I did when I was 19, when I was going to Fullerton Junior College, and said, 'See this? See these growing trees? See this growing lizard that spins around, that's orange? See the purple moss?' And everybody went away."

Ariana Grande Shows Support To Mariah Carey After Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance Got Roasted

The queen is supporting another queen. Ariana Grande has shown support to Mariah Carey after the latter was roasted on social media over her performance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Making use of her Instagram Story on Friday, November 25, Ariana reposted snapshots from Mariah's photoshoot with W Magazine. The "God Is a Woman" hitmaker first re-shared a black-and-white image that saw Mariah posing with one of her hands placed on top of her head. "All We Want for the Holidays Is Mariah Carey," the magazine cover titled.

Not stopping there, Ariana also re-uploaded a photo of Mariah wearing a white tank top, a pale beige skirt and a furry jacket. Underneath the picture, the "Dangerous Woman" hitmaker wrote, "i'm faint."

Ariana Grande praised Mariah Carey one day after the self-anointed 'Queen of Christmas' was dragged online for her Thanksgiving Day Parade performance.

Ariana's support came shortly after Mariah was dragged online for her performance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The self-anointed "Queen of Christmas" was joined by her 11-year-old twin children Monroe and Moroccan on stage.

Many accused the ex-wife of Nick Cannon of lip-syncing the performance of her iconic song "All I Want for Christmas". One person called her out on Twitter, "Come on lip sync." A second wondered, "Why lip sync tho??" Someone, however, came to the "Hero" hitmaker's defense as claiming, "If you watched the parade, EVERYBODY lip synced."

Others, in the meantime, criticized Mariah for her "lazy" performance. "I love the lack of energy Mariah Carey gives in her performances. It's the one thing we can all count on," one Twitter user sarcastically wrote. Another chimed in, "Lmao Mariah Really getting paid to mouth word a real Diva."

Sports journalist Ian Hest weighed in, "Mariah Carey is getting millions right now to just stand there with her umbrella and honestly I'm not mad. Mad respect." Not bothered by the lack of energy in Mariah's performance, someone else said, "She always just standing there with a beautiful gown doing absolutely nothing lol. I liveeeeee for that can't be mad."

Despite receiving backlash, Mariah said she was "proud" to join the annual celebration. "Happy Thanksgiving!!!" she posted on Instagram after her performance along with several snapshots from the parade. "Grateful and so proud of my beautiful kids Roc and Roe, grateful for the lambily and for the precious moments in life. Now it's reaaaallly time!!!"

Ben Platt Announces Engagement To Noah Galvin

Ben Platt and Noah Galvin are hearing wedding bells. Having been dating "The Good Doctor" star for more than two years, the "Pitch Perfect" actor finally proposed to him and later announced the engagement on Instagram.

On Friday, November 25, Ben shared some photos from the proposal. The first picture showed him sharing a warm embrace with his now-fiance. The 29-year-old also gave fans a closer look at Noah's engagement ring.

Ben followed them up with other PDA-filled pictures of him and Noah. In the caption, he simply gushed, "he agreed to hang out forever," adding two hears emoji.

Also sharing the exciting news was Noah. Posting similar photos on his own Instagram page, the George depicter in "Booksmart" jokingly wrote, "said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours."

Ben and Noah went public with their relationship on an installment of the "Little Known Facts with Ilana Levine" podcast, which the pair recorded while self-isolating together. "Ben and I are dating," Noah said at that time.

"I asked him this morning, I was like, are we allowed to talk about this? And he's like, 'Don't go into our nitty-gritty, but yeah, people can know,' " the 28-year-old, who replaced Ben in the Broadway production of "Dear Evan Hansen", added. "It's still relatively new."

Later in June 2021, Ben revealed how they became an item. "We've been together for about a year and a half now," he said during an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show". He added, "We'd been friends for like five years and right before the pandemic we finally decided to, like, really give it a real shot."

"We'd kind of skated around it for a long time. And then it was like zero 60. Like, we're living together with my parents in our childhood home and seeing each other all the time," he further elaborated. "It ended up being a beautiful time."

Tenoch Huerta Speaks on His Missing Bulge in 'Wakanda Forever' Final Cut: 'I'm Not Going to Lie to People'

Some eagle-eyed (and rather horny) ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ fans noticed that Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta, seemed to have a smaller ‘bulge’ in the film as opposed to what was first seen in the movie’s trailer.

Of course, the disappearing bulge led to conversations on Twitter regarding the choice of costume, men’s bodies, and whether or not the bulge was ‘family-friendly.’

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Tenoch weighed-in on the discussion surrounding his package.

“The only thing I can say is: the original was the photo on the right. Without [the bulge]! That’s original,” the actor shared.

“No, I mean, I’m not going to lie to people. Every man in the world, we have fragile masculinity, but not in that issue. I will say, the right one, the real one is the photo on the right,” he said.

Keke Palmer Shares “Life-Changing” Sex Advice From Whoopi Goldberg

During a recent episode of Keke Palmer’s Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, the actress and singer surprisingly revealed “life-changing sex advice” she received from Whoopi Goldberg.

In the podcast episode titled, “Has Porn Ruined Sex?” with sex therapist Dr. Kate Balestri, Palmer shared her opinions on women enjoying sex for themselves and how now, she prefers a more emotional connection before getting intimate with someone.

The KeyTV creator said, “My identity with sex – it was always based upon, ‘Oh, I just gotta do this service.’ And my enjoyment, any enjoyment that I had at that era, in that point, in that time, came from, ‘I’m glad they’re happy.’ That was like, depressing and not enough because well I realized, like, ‘Well, wait a damn minute … this isn’t it’ you know what I’m saying?”

Thinking back to “life changing” advice that the iconic Sister Act actress shared with her, the Nope star revealed: “It was a journey of trying to figure out what works for me. I remember, I’ll never forget, I was on The View one time and they were having a conversation about sex, a really great conversation, and Whoopi Goldberg said, ‘please just – start with pleasing yourself.’ And I was like, ‘That rings true.’”

Further into the episode, Palmer discussed times when she would watch porn, but never actually received a “happy ending” from sex that resembled adult films.

“There was one time in my life where I thought porn simulation sex, because that’s what it sounds like to me, porn simulated-esque sex, was something that could be interesting or fun, but I never actually had a happy ending from it, if I’m being, you know, lightly frank,” she revealed. “I’ve only ever had an actual happy ending from a more demure, a calmer, a more emotional approach.”

Last year, Palmer, 29, went public with her boyfriend Darius Jackson and spoke about their relationship in her Bustle cover story.

“This is the happiest I’ve ever felt with someone. So why would I go out of my way to hide this person? That’s a lot more work than just living in my life and being in my life.”

Take a listen to Keke Palmer’s full “Has Porn Ruined Sex?” episode of her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast here.

Lauryn Hill will be joinng Tom Joyner on The Fantastic Voyage 2023 to support HBCU students

Lauryn Hill is heading to sea to support students attending historically Black colleges and universities.

The renowned musician will join the Tom Joyner Foundation for its 2023 cruise to raise money for HBCU students. “I am excited that Ms. Lauryn Hill is performing on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage 2023,” former radio host Tom Joyner said in an official news release. “She is one of the best of all time.” He also shared the news via Instagram on Thursday (Nov. 24). “The rapper, singer, songwriter, actress and producer Ms. Lauryn Hill is doing her part by joining the 2023 Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage to help Tom raise money to keep kids in school at Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” Joyner captioned his Instagram post.

According to the news release, “Cruisers coming to party with a purpose and help raise money for HBCU scholarships won’t be disappointed with what will be an amazing show.” Among the acts confirmed to join the cruise include Charlie Wilson and Stevie Wonder, with a host of others to be announced soon. The cruise is set to run from May 20-27.

As previously reported, Hill has always been one to support movements she believes in. Earlier this year, she took to social media to call on California lawmakers to pass the FAIR Act to protect musicians. The legislation allows artists to leave certain contracts after seven years without the threat of “crushing financial penalties.” “We would love to believe that businesses at the highest level are always run by fair practices and moral prerogatives, but this is more often than not, not the case,” the “Ex-Factor” songstress wrote on Instagram. “For this reason, laws MUST exist that protect people from harsh and insensitive practices like artist suppression, and willful sabotage and neglect.”

Kanye West Wears 'Ye24' Campaign Gear During Church Visit

Kanye West is wearing new campaign gear during a visit to a church in Los Angeles.

The 45-year-old rapper recently reiterated his interest in running for president in the 2024 election, and he enlisted alt-right personality Milo Yiannopoulos to help with his campaign.

He showed how serious he was about it by wearing a “Ye24″ jacket while visiting the Jewish West Hills Church on Saturday (November 26).

Earlier this week Kanye also tried to recruit former president Donald Trump as his running mate in the election. However, the duo seemingly ignited a feud after they shared differing takes on a get-together at Mar-a-Lago, which was attended by yet another alt-right personality – Nick Fuentes.

Kanye also seemingly called out Elon Musk while advocating for controversial conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to be brought back to Twitter.

Freddie Prinze Jr. Says He Was Forced to Take Pay Cut For 'Scooby-Doo 2'

Freddie Prinze Jr. revealed what led to his decision to exit the Scooby-Doo franchise.

If you forgot, the 46-year-old I Know What You Did Last Summer star played Fred Jones in the live-action adaptations of the classic series in the early aughts.

The first movie came out in 2002, and he reprised the role for a sequel in 2004. However, he was forced into taking a pay cut, which ended his relationship with the franchise.

Freddie told Esquire that he was pushed into taking a pay cut because his co-stars wanted a raise.

“I remember thinking, ‘Hold up, who’s giving them the raise? Me or y’all?’ Like we made you guys three-quarters of a billion dollars, you can’t afford to pay them what I’m making on this? Screw that,” he recalled.

The studio reportedly got him to agree to the change in his rate after releasing his salary, but that was the end of the relationship.

He also alleged that the movie’s script changed between him signing on and its release.

Despite the strained relationship with the studio, Freddie did find a happy ending with co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who he went on to marry. Find out how and when he fell in love with her here!

Judge Refuses to Allow Cardi B’s Gangbanging Past in Tasha B’s Appeal Case

*Tasha K continues to face hurdles in her ongoing efforts to appeal a $4 million court loss to Cardi B. We reported previously that a federal judge ruled that the gossip blogger must either immediately pay Cardi nearly $4 million as part of a defamation verdict, or secure a bond covering the entire amount.

Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, was ordered by a judge in January to pay Cardi $4 million in damages following a string of defamatory statements she made on her platform about the rapper. Since the ruling, Tasha has told fans that she supposedly doesn’t have the money.

All Hip Hop reports that a Georgia judge has prevented Tasha from introducing Cardi’s gang affiliations as character evidence in the appeal case.

“In order for the jury to determine whether [Cardi B] has been defamed, placed in a false light, and emotionally distress, the jury must know about [her] gang affiliation because it is an extremely relevant part of who [she] is,” Tasha K’s lawyer Olga Izmaylova explained, per the All Hip Hop report. “[Tasha K] made the same argument in response to [Cardi B’s] request to exclude [the rapper’s] own social media comments. The district court prevented this evidence from coming in.”

“The district court applied the incorrect legal standard by determining that character evidence was irrelevant and inadmissible in a defamation action and, therefore, the district court has made a clear error of judgment and should be overturned,” the attorney added.

Cardi (real name Belcalis Almánzar) has started the collection process and her legal team recently told a judge that they want Tasha to immediately pay up or agree to a supersedeas bond.

A supersedeas bond, which is often referred to as a defendant’s appeal bond, would allow the appellant to delay payments of a judgment until an appeal is over. In this case, should Tasha K lose her appeal against the $4 million she has been ordered to pay, she would ultimately have no choice but to cough up the money.

Tasha K’s attorney believes she deserves a new trial because the jury didn’t hear all of the relevant evidence about Cardi B in the case, All Hip Hop reports.

“[Tasha K has] shown a substantial prejudicial effect because it’s extremely likely that the erroneously excluded character evidence would have impacted the jury’s verdict, had the jury been able to consider it,” Izmaylova contended. “The fact that a jury unanimously reached the conclusion that [Cardi B] was telling the truth and [Tasha K was] lying does not demonstrate that [the latter] acted with actual malice.”

The lawyer concluded, “This Court should reverse the Amended Judgment and remand this case for a new trial.”

#FASHIONNEWS: Alessandro Michele Is Officially Exiting Gucci As Creative Director

Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci since 2015, is set to leave the company, marking the end of an era for Italy’s most prominent fashion brand. Since stepping into the shoes as creative director, Michele has been a meticulous styling pioneer. The well-established brand signatures of streetwear-inspired merchandising and quirky, gender-fluid styling represent just a tiny fraction of Michele’s contributions.

A sweeping and complete update of Gucci’s image, communications, and visual merchandising shepherded by Michele in combination with CEO Marco Bizzarri enchanted a new world of consumers, and helped obtain a younger generation of consumers for an industry that has historically focused on more mature audiences. The bridging of this gap has shaped the luxury industry to uphold the limitlessness of modernity.

Despite falling revenues during and after the pandemic, Michele’s time with the brand reflects excellent profit margins. From 2015 through 2019, Gucci’s revenues nearly tripled, and profits quadrupled- an unlikely occurrence in the modern luxury industry. In 2022, Gucci is anticipated to close with an annual revenue of $10.3 billion, marking a significant achievement for the company. Gucci, a Kering-owned brand, released a statement ensuring that the design studio will “continue to carry the direction of the House forward” until a new creative configuration is announced.

The creative helm of the House was not only an inspiration for the luxury retail industry at large, but Michele’s work also touched those in close contact with his genius. François-Henri Pinault, Chairman & CEO of Kering, said: “The road that Gucci and Alessandro walked together over the past years is unique and will remain an outstanding moment in the history of the House. I am grateful to Alessandro for bringing so much of himself into this adventure. His passion, imagination, ingenuity and culture put Gucci center stage, where its place is. I wish him a great next chapter in his creative journey.”

After a nearly eight-year run, Michele’s final statement to the public leaves nothing unsaid. He wrote, “There are times when paths part ways because of the different perspectives each one of us may have. Today an extraordinary journey ends for me, lasting more than twenty years, within a company to which I have tirelessly dedicated all my love and creative passion.

During this long period, Gucci has been my home, my adopted family. To this extended family, to all the individuals who have looked after and supported it, I send my most sincere thanks, my biggest and most heartfelt embrace. Together with them I have wished, dreamed, imagined. Without them, none of what I have built would have been possible. To them goes my most sincerest wish: may you continue to cultivate your dreams, the subtle and intangible matter that makes life worth living. May you continue to nourish yourselves with poetic and inclusive imagery, remaining faithful to your values. May you always live by your passions, propelled by the wind of freedom.”

#FASHIONNEWS:Raf Simons Closes His Namesake Brand After 27 Years

After a 27-year run, designer Raf Simons announces the closure of his namesake brand. Simons took to Instagram to publicly state that the brand’s spring-summer 2023 collection shown in London in October will be it’s last. The show strayed away from the label’s traditional minimalistic approach, which featured party-inspired pieces. Simons invited a mixture of 800 people among and beyond the fashion elite. In an interview with Vogue, Simons said, “I didn’t want a show for 300 people sitting in rows. This is a show that’s pure democracy. No hierarchy. A London explosion of youth, life, dancing, and being together… I was thinking a lot about the body in relation to dressing up and going out and performing.”

The Belgian designer kicked off his creative career in furniture, which he studied in Antwerp before testing the waters in fashion. Raf Simons, founded in 1995, evolved into an influential menswear label. Simons has been a voice for youth culture, strongly characterized by thin silhouettes and a sentimental point of view. Success of the brand led the designer to jobs at esteemed labels such as Dior, Jil Sander, and Calvin Klein. In 2017, Simons was named both Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America for his work at Calvin Klein and Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council. The sSimons is currently a co-creative director at Prada alongside shareholder Miuccia Prada. He is expected to continue his position here.

Raf Simons, though a small business compared to super-brand employers, proves that a small label can be mighty. As one of fashion week’s most revered shows, Simons’ rebellious ethos and manipulation of color and texture made big splashes in the fashion scene. Simons said, “I lack the words to share how proud I am. I am grateful for the incredible support from my team, from my collaborators, from the press and buyers, from my friends and family, and from our devoted fans and followers. Thank you all for believing in our vision and for believing in me.”

Netflix Will Produce Film Based Around Grandmother Who Invited Stranger To Thanksgiving After Mistaken Text

Since 2016 Wanda Dench and Jamal Hinton have spent thanksgiving together all because of an accidental text.

And now Netflix will tell their story next year with the film “The Thanksgiving Text.” For those who haven’t heard of their story, Dench was getting her Thanksgiving guest list together when she accidentally sent an invite to Hinton, a stranger, who at the time was a high school senior. He replied asking who it was, Dench responded, “Your grandma 👵.”

The two eventually realized it was a mistake, but that didn’t stop Hinton from jokingly asking if he could “still get a plate tho” to which Dench responded, “Of course, you can. That’s what grandma’s do…Feed every one.”

Next thing you know, he and his girlfriend were spending Thanksgiving with Dench and her family. Their warm-hearted encounter was shared on social media and became a viral story that many have followed since it first happened.

Dench lost her husband to COVID-19 complications two years ago. Hinton, along with Dench’s family and close friends has helped her get through the loss, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution shared.

The two recently shared their excitement about Netflix’s decision to make a film about them.

“We are excited to share our story with the world. We hope it inspires more people to reach out and make connections that they wouldn’t ordinarily make,” Dench and Hinton said in a joint statement. “We are so blessed to find a genuine friendship brought together by God from a mistaken text message.”

Utah Man Hit With Multiple Charges for Holding Razor Against Woman’s Neck Who Ignored Him During a Flight

A Utah man who threatened to slit a woman’s throat on a JetBlue flight has been charged with assault.

The potentially deadly situation occurred on November 21st when Merrill Darrell Fackrell boarded a flight at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City headed to Salt Lake City, Utah. Fackrell was seated next to the window with a woman in the middle seat next to him. He tried to talk to the victim, who eventually tuned him out by putting her headphones in and watching a movie on her laptop. Fackrell then put a razor close to her neck and told her to pause her film. The victim’s husband, who was seated in the aisle, immediately got up to alert a flight attendant. Meanwhile, the frightened woman leaped from her seat to escape the deranged man, causing Fackrell to grab her shoulder.

Another nearby passenger, named Rob, observed Fackrell holding the razor and forced him to drop it on the seat. Rob gave the flight crew the blade and sat next to Fackrell for the rest of the flight. Before being apprehended by Rob, Fackrell struggled to subdue the woman and yelled that she would be okay. He also ordered the flight crew to land the plane and stated, “This ain’t no 9/11 s**t.”

Once the plane landed, police came onto the aircraft and quickly escorted Fackrell off as he said “peace out” to the disturbed passengers.

On Tuesday, Fackrell was federally charged with assault with a dangerous weapon on or near aircraft and carrying a weapon on a flight. He was appointed a lawyer from a federal public defender’s office. It remains unknown how he was able to get a razor blade on the aircraft.
