#RHOA: Why The Real Housewives of Potomac Fans Say Mia's A ‘Pathological’ Liar

Mia Thornton is being called a "pathological liar" after The Real Housewives of Potomac star backpedaled on her salacious claims made against Chris Bassett. Candiace Dillard's husband has been the target of concern from some housewives who think Chris is too friendly when his wife isn't around. Ashley Darby was first to raise an eyebrow after Chris sent her a DM in response to one of her Instagram Story posts. Gizelle Bryant seconded Ashley's concerns by revealing the private conversation she had with Chris at the season 6 reunion inside her dressing room. Once Mia learned of the encounters with Chris, she went on to accuse him of staring at her during the Spring Fling event.

But after producers showed flashback clips confirming Chris never looked at Mia, she took to Twitter to backtrack on her initial claims. In a since-deleted tweet captured by The Peach Report, Mia claimed to have "felt stares" but said they didn't feel "inappropriate." She then claimed that she felt "insecure" at the time because of how "skinny, pale, and frail" she was from being sick. Mia made sure to apologize to Candiace "for even saying it." In a separate tweet in response to one fan, Mia sarcastically said she doesn't "remember" what really happened. Chris sent out a tweet telling Mia her antics weren't "cool," before sending a more lengthy tweet blasting Mia for being "bored as fu*k" and making up "bullsh*t." Fans sided with Chris and shamed Mia for her history of fabricating information on the show. "Mia is a pathological liar at this point and it’s no longer funny," one fan wrote. "It's never been funny," added someone else.

Another fan called Mia out for seemingly "backpedaling" only after production showed proof that Chris never looked at her. By referencing her health scare, fans think Mia's apology to Candiace wasn't sincere. "When you start an apology with an excuse - it takes away from the apology," the fan quipped. Mia has now been added to the list of season 6 housewives under fire for seemingly targeting Chris. Candiace broke the fourth wall after Gizelle confronted her with concerns about Chris. She became outraged that the ladies would be concerned with her husband Chris when Michael Darby has done much worse and remained cordial with the ladies.

Mia has been dealing with questions from the ladies after seemingly insinuating she had cancer in an Instagram post. When asked, Mia admitted to being told she had lumps in her breast but was never told they were cancerous. Gizelle didn't hold back when asking Mia about the alarming post and if she was trying to gain sympathy from the public by fabricating her condition. Mia has a history of spreading misinformation. During her season 6 debut, Mia owned up to mixing up Wendy Osefo's remarks about Gizelle. The misinformation led to a showdown where it was revealed Mia was behind the misinterpreted hearsay.

Elsewhere, Mia is dealing with business woes despite her claims of being a "boss." Mia recently took to social media to blast the family members who ousted her and her husband Gordon Thornton from the family business. The Real Housewives of Potomac fans have their eyes on Mia and many think she is guilty of lying on too many occasions. Mia isn't afraid to own up to her slip-ups. But that might not be enough to win over fans.

#HipHopNews: Iggy Azalea Rips Raiders Reporter For Shading Her Halftime Performance

Iggy Azalea is having the last laugh. The Aussie rapper provided the entertainment as the Las Vegas Raiders took on the Houston Texans during Sunday’s NFL game. Iggy hit the stage during halftime to perform hits like “Fancy” and “Black Widow,” wearing a skintight Raiders bodysuit.

But her performance was not well received by everyone. Tashan Reed, a staff writer for The Athletic who covers the Raiders, threw some shade Iggy’s way.

“The combination of Allegiant Stadium trying to make BBQ and Iggy Azalea performing at halftime is gonna make me depressed,” he tweeted.

His tweet didn’t go unnoticed by Iggy, who responded with the ultimate clapback, informing Tashan that she received a big payday for her performance.

“If you think you’re depressed now I’ll spare you the tears you’d cry knowing what my paycheck was to come and jiggle a lil ass,” she tweeted.

After the Iggy fans came to her defense, Tashan shared a video of himself going to the gym where Iggy’s song “Fancy” just happened to be playing. “The @IGGYAZALEA stans took over my timeline & gym’s playlist that’s crazy,” he tweeted.

He also seemingly shaded her again by posting a screenshot of himself listening to “Magnolia” by Iggy’s ex-boyfriend, Playboi Carti. “Song of the day,” he captioned it.

Iggy, who just came off tour with Pitbull, is set to hit the studio to record her next album. Tory Lanez recently announced that he will executive produce the project.

Adidas Ends Partnership With Kanye West

Adidas is terminating its partnership with Kanye West. On Tuesday, the German sportswear giant said it was officially cutting ties with West after he made a series of anti-Semitic remarks and embraced a slogan associated with white supremacists.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.

“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

West had faced increasing pressure to terminate its nearly decade-long partnership with Ye, and said they stand to lose $246 million this year as a result.

During his Yeezy Season 9 show at Paris Fashion Week, West wore a shirt with the slogan “White Lives Matter” and made repeated anti-Semitic remarks in interviews and on social media, including a tweet where he said he would go “death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.”

“I can say anti-Semitic shit and Adidas cannot drop me,” Kanye boasted on the “Drink Champs” podcast earlier this month.

He also harassed Adidas executives on Instagram, including Senior Vice President and General Manager Daniel Cherry, calling him a “weakling in a position of artificial power.”

This is West’s most significant partnership to come to an end over his anti-Semitic statements. His former talent agency CAA has dropped him and Def Jam, his longtime record label, said that his contract had expired last year. Balenciaga was first to announce that it was cutting ties with West.

The controversies have also cost him his billionaire status. Forbes has announced that West is no longer a billionaire as a result of the termination of his business deals with Adidas and Gap.

Ye had worked with Adidas since 2013 on his popular line of Yeezy sneakers. Shares of Adidas traded down more than 7 percent after the announcement on Tuesday. The company’s stock has fallen over 20 percent in the past month amid Ye’s controversial behavior.

Antonio Brown Ordered To Pay $1.2 Mil To Truck Driver In Assault Case

Antonio Brown's bank account is about to take a serious hit ... TMZ Sports has learned the former NFL star has been ordered to pay a moving truck driver $1.2 MILLION after he allegedly attacked the guy nearly three years ago.

A Broward County jury awarded the damages to Anton Tumanov earlier this month, according to court records ... after Brown failed to respond or show up to hearings in the case.

Per court docs, the jury found Brown liable for $407,000 for Tumanov's past and future medical expenses ... as well as $793,000 for past and future pain and suffering.

Tumanov initially sued the ex-Buccaneers receiver back in May 2021, after he said Brown beat him up while he was trying to make a delivery to the football player's Broward County, Fla. home on Feb. 11, 2020.

In his suit, Tumanov -- who was represented by Jeffrey R. Davis of Jeffrey R. Davis P.A. and Michael Lotto of the Ward Law Group in the case -- claimed Brown snapped on him when the two got into a dispute over payment for the services.

Tumanov said the 34-year-old damaged his vehicle and hit him multiple times. In the suit, he said it all caused him "severe bodily injuries."

Tumanov also went to police over it all ... and Brown was eventually hit with three criminal charges.

The receiver, though, ultimately cut a deal with prosecutors in June 2020 ... agreeing to probation and other stipulations, including community service hours and an anger management course, to have the case dropped.

Serena Williams teases tennis fans as she says ‘I’m not retired’

Serena Williams continues to tease tennis fans about whether they will see her back on court, this time saying she is “not retired” from the sport.

Williams, considered by many as the greatest player of all time, announced she would “evolve away from tennis” after this year’s US Open, adding that she “never liked the word retirement.”

In a brief comeback to the sport last year, the 23-time grand slam champion completed in singles at Wimbledon, the National Bank Open, the Western & Southern Open and the US Open, where she was knocked out by Ajla Tomljanović in the third round.

Serena Williams of the United States is greeted by her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. following her victory against Danka Kovinic of Montenegro during the Women's Singles First Round on Day One of the 2022 US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on August 29, 2022 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City.

How Serena Williams rewrote the playbook for female athletes juggling motherhood and sport

Speaking at the recent TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco to promote Serena Ventures, her investment company, Williams, 41, said: “I’m not retired … The chances are very high [of playing again]. You come to my house, I’ve got a court.”

Last month, in an interview on Good Morning America, Williams said “you never know” to a return to competitive tennis and explained how NFL quarterback Tom Brady had “started a really cool trend.”

The 45-year-old Brady said he was retiring from the NFL in February, only to later reverse that decision and continue his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.

As part of her plans to “evolve away from tennis,” Williams said she would be spending more time with her family, as well as pursuing her business interests and charity ambassador roles.

Drake Reportedly Hits Impersonator with Cease and Desist Communication

Izzy Drake, who has shot to social media fame over the last year by impersonating the Toronto rapper, took to Instagram on Monday (October 24) to share a legal warning he received from Drizzy’s OVO Sound label.

The letter was sent on Thursday (October 20) and demanded Izzy stop using Drake’s name, likeness and trademarks, which they claimed were “damaging and defamatory” to the OVO brand.

“Notice to cease and desist,” the letter began. “Dear IzzyyDrake, this letter serves as a notice of your unauthorized use of the trademark, ‘OVO’ to promote your brand and likeness, as well as your unauthorized fabrication of media which is Per Se damaging and defamatory to our brand. Your conducted actions are unwarranted, unwelcome, and inacceptable.”

It continued: “In addition, this shall serve as a pre-suit letter demanding that you provide us written assurance within 7 days that you will cease and desist from making any further factually untrue statements involving OVO Sound and/or Drake, and that you will no longer fabricate media that portrays the aforementioned Trademarks. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Despite being issued with the cease and desist, there were no hard feelings on Fake Drake’s part as he changed his name to Izzy Famous and wished the real Drake — who turned 36 on Monday — a happy birthday.

“Happy birthday to the greatest artist in history and my biggest inspiration,” he wrote. “I got this cease and desist letter from OVO couple days ago and as a respectful b day gift to @champagnepapi I changed my name from IzzyyDrake to Izzyyfamous. More life my OVO brother @preme @bakanotnice @tvgucci.”

The cease and desist notice comes after Izzy Drake claimed Drake threatened to slap him while they were both in Miami earlier this year.

“I pulled up to Drake’s hotel room, let’s just say it wasn’t very inviting,” he told the We In Miami Podcast in August. “They tried coming at us, they just tried coming at us so I ended up texting him, telling him about the fight and he said that he’s gonna go up and slap me for free.”

Before that, however, Izzy Drake claimed a mutual gambler friend told him that Drake wasn’t bothered by his lucrative lookalike hustle, which was allowing him to earn as much as $5,000 a night.

“He got in contact with Drake and Drake was just like, ‘It doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t affect me. Let the guy get his bag. It’s not affecting me. If you think it’s gonna go wrong if you’re posting him on your [Instagram Stories] and everything, just keep the peace,’” Izzy said on the No Jumper podcast.

“He didn’t really give a fuck, you know? That was the whole thing. I’m just being humble, I’m doing my thing. I got kids – I’m doing this shit for my family.”

Gunman In St. Louis School Shooting Identified, But Authorities Still Seek Motive

Police said Orlando Harris, 19, a former student at the school, opened fire before he was killed.

The gunman in the tragic shooting at St. Louis’ Central Visual & Performing Arts High School has been identified by authorities.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the gunman was 19-year-old Orlando Harris, who graduated from the school last year. A survivor said the shooter was “tired of everybody” in the school, but authorities are still trying to determine a motive. St. Louis Police Chief Michael Sack said, according to CBS News, "There's suspicions that there may be some mental illness that he's experiencing."

Police have not officially released the names of the victims. However, the Post-Dispatch confirmed one victim was Jean Kuczka,  61, a health and physical education teacher and a mother of five. The other victim was 16-year-old Alexandria Bell, who was pronounced dead inside the school. Four other students were injured due to gunfire. Two others suffered abrasions and a girl fractured her ankle.

Police say Harris, who had no prior criminal history, planned to kill more, but his gun jammed, which allowed children to escape. Harris was shot dead by police and was found with over a dozen 30-round high-capacity magazines on him.

The shooting was reported just after 9 a.m. Police say that there were seven security workers on site. It is unclear how the shooter got inside the building, even though the doors were reportedly locked. The building also has metal detectors.

The Associated Press reports algebra teacher Ashley Rench said the school principal came over the loudspeaker around 9 a.m. and said, "Miles Davis is in the building," which is the code phrase that indicates an intruder is in the building. Rench said students hid beneath her desk and podium as Harris tried to enter the classroom. He gave up when he couldn’t get through the locked door.

Another teacher, David Williams, said he heard multiple shots outside his classroom, and one of the windows on the classroom door was shot out. He then heard the shooter say, “You are all going to f***ing die.”

Officers arrived four minutes after the first 911 call, and it took them eight minutes to locate the shooter, according to reports. By 9:30 a.m., the area was blocked off by police, ambulances, and a SWAT van.

“The situation is still developing and we will know more in the coming days,” St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly M. Gardner said in a statement. “But one thing that is clear is that lockdown procedures – which St. Louis Public School’s administrators, teachers and students at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and first responders followed as this attack unfolded – were essential in preventing further violence.”

Missouri gun laws are some of the most relaxed in the country. There’s no state law in Missouri that requires a license or a background check to buy or own a gun.

“After we noticed what was happening in other places, we should have been proactive, so we didn’t have to be reactive,” Democratic Missouri state Sen. Karla May, who represents part of St. Louis said in a statement, “Now we’re in a reactive state.”

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell confirm 'Good Burger 2' is on the way

A sequel for the classic children’s movie Good Burger is officially in the works!

During TheGrio awards on Sunday (Oct. 23), Kenan Thompson said that the highly anticipated film is definitely happening. “We’re getting really close on Good Burger 2,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s gonna happen, and I think it’s gonna happen soon. We’re gonna figure out when the pocket of time will be to shoot it, but it’s gonna happen.”

Furthermore, Thompson said this is the furthest the team has gotten to making the second film official. “It’s closer than it’s ever been. So, I don’t think anything is gonna derail it,” said the “Saturday Night Live” actor. “We had a reading, like a little private thing just to hear the script that we’ve been working on, out loud – just with a couple of friends and a couple of people from Paramount and Nickelodeon, and it was so funny.”

Good Burger debuted in theaters on July 25, 1997 and it starred both Thompson and Kel Mitchell from the hit Nickelodeon series “Kenan & Kel.” Mitchell also confirmed the sequel with a post shared to Instagram on Monday (Oct. 24). “Now we’re cooking,” the actor wrote in a caption alongside a video of the script with his “Blessed Mode” song playing in the background. “Table read went really good! Good vibes! Good laughs! Good burgers!”

As previously reported, both Mitchell and Thompson recently took to social media to mourn the loss of late rapper Coolio, who they worked alongside during their time at Nickelodeon. “Rest in heaven Coolio,” Mitchell wrote in a previous Instagram post accompanied by a throwback clip of the West Coast native making a guest appearance on “Kenan & Kel.” “We recently spoke a few months ago, laughing and having such a good time. So many great memories with you bro! That time first meeting you on ‘All That’ cracking up in a Good Burger sketch then you bringing me on stage after your performance to freestyle. Then later creating the legendary ‘Kenan & Kel’ theme song.”

Will Smith hosts 'Emancipation' screening for Dave Chapelle, Rihanna, Tyler Perry, and more

On Dec. 2, the highly anticipated Emancipation film is set to hit theaters and will also stream on Apple TV+ starting Dec. 9. In the forthcoming film, Will Smith stars as “Whipped Peter,” a runaway slave whose life story was documented through photographs of brutal scars on his back. Emancipation was directed by Antoine Fuqua.

Last night (Oct. 24), the 54-year-old actor hosted a private screening for his friends and colleagues to give them an exclusive preview as the premiere date inches closer. The star-studded guest list for the intimate event included Tyler Perry, Rihanna, Dave Chappelle, Fawn, Kenya Barris, ASAP Rocky, and others.

“EPIC night!! Thanx for coming to see Emancipation,” Smith wrote in his Instagram caption under a selfie with all his A-list attendees. “Hope y’all enjoyed!!”

Barris recapped his thoughts on his Instagram Story and gave his flowers to the King Richard actor. “Emancipation is true art, power, and everything else a film should be. You got one, Will Smith,” he wrote.

Perry also chimed in and spoke about how the film left a lasting impact on him. “I’m still haunted by Emancipation. It’s truly powerful, moving and captivating. And the conversation afterwards with this group was legendary. Thank you, Will Smith, for the preview,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

Last year, Smith delved into how the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 impacted his decision to be a part of Emancipation. “The entire world was in lockdown [and] watched what happened to George Floyd and stood up with one voice and said, ‘We see it. We agree.’ That’s never happened before,” he said. “With that, the opportunities are unlike they’ve ever been. I’ve been trying to get movies made for a long time.”

Martha Stewart Says She'd Date Pete Davidson, Calls Him 'Sort of Cute'

Martha Stewart is ready to give Pete Davidson a chance. The 81-year-old TV personality and businesswoman appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday (October 25) where she played a game of “Red Flag, Yellow Flag, Green Flag.”

The game entailed Drew pitching Martha different men to potentially date and Martha had to respond whether she would give them a chance (green flag), not date them (red flag), or if she was on the fence (yellow flag).

First up, Drew suggested a date with someone who “has as many tattoos as Pete Davidson,” and Martha immediately put up her green flag.

Drew then asked if Martha would date Pete, 28, and Martha said she was totally down for the potential date.

“There’s a thing on the internet where everybody wants you to go on a date with him,” Drew told Martha.

Martha then pointed out that Pete has “dated so many women,” but that doesn’t stop her from giving Pete a chance.

“No, I’m not saying that’s bad,” Martha said. “I think that’s good and he’s sort of cute.”

Martha then agreed that “everybody loves” Pete, adding, “I know him…He was on the [Justin] Bieber roast with me, do you remember? He was this little twerp. He was even twerpier than Bieber.”

Drew said that everyone speaks highly of Pete that “he has to be a good guy.”

Martha agreed, saying, “Oh, he is a good guy. He’s a very good guy and he knows how to get in and get out.”

Jules Bass, Producer and Director Known for ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,’ ‘Frosty the Snowman,’ Dies at 87

Jules Bass, the animator, producer, director and composer whose work included stop-motion holiday television specials like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman” and “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” died at the age of 87 on Tuesday at an assisted living facility in Rye, New York, publicist Jennifer Fisherman-Ruff confirmed.

The three prominent holiday specials, “Rudolph,” voiced by Burl Ives, “Frosty” starring Jackie Vernon and Jimmy Durante and “Santa Claus,” voiced by Fred Astaire and Mickey Rooney, all debuted during the 1960s and 1970s. In the decades since, the specials have become staples of seasonal holiday programming on television.

Bass was known for his longstanding creative partnership with director Arthur Rankin Jr., who died in 2014 at 89. The two pushed many productions through their banner Rankin/Bass Productions, which was known for its laborious cel-animated, stop-motion films that took long periods of time to turn into full-length features.

Bass and Rankin’s first production was a syndicated television series titled “The New Adventures of Pinocchio,” which premiered in 1960. They notched an Emmy nomination for outstanding children’s special for their work on “The Little Drummer Boy Book II” in 1977 and one year later received a Peabody for their animated version of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit.” In 1980, they took on another Tolkien adaptation with “The Return of the King.”

In addition to numerous holiday specials, they served as producers of series including “Thundercats” and “The Jackson 5ive” animated series. Bass also produced and directed the 1967cult favorite “Mad Monster Party?” starring Boris Karloff.

Bass was born in Philadelphia on September 16, 1935, went to New York University for college and worked at an advertising agency before joining Rankin at Videocraft International, which later became Rankin/Bass Productions. After Bass stepped away from producing and filmmaking in 1987, he went on to write children’s books.

The January death of Bass’ daughter, Jean Nicole Bass, preceded his own. His daughter died at 61 years old.

Harry Potter Star Robbie Coltrane Died from Multiple Organ Failure: Reports

Robbie Coltrane's cause of death has reportedly been revealed.

The Harry Potter actor's death certificate states that Coltrane died of multiple organ failure, according to multiple outlets including the Daily Mail, TMZ and the Daily Mirror.

Coltrane, who died on Oct. 14 at age 72, had also been suffering from heart blockages, sepsis and a lower respiratory infection, per the outlets' reports.

Additionally, the actor had previously been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, his death certificate reportedly indicates.

A rep for Coltrane declined a request for confirmation/comment from PEOPLE, while a second rep did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request.

Coltrane's agent and friend Belinda Wright confirmed the news of his death to PEOPLE on Friday, sharing that he died that day and calling the actor "a unique talent."

"He will probably be best remembered for decades to come as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, a role which brought joy to children and adults alike all over the world, prompting a stream of fan letters every week for over 20 years," Belinda continued.

"For me personally I shall remember him as an abidingly loyal client ... as well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent ... brilliantly witty," she added. "And after 40 years of being proud to be called his agent, I shall miss him."

While the actor's cause of death was not immediately apparent, Deadline reported at the time that he "had been in ill health for the past two years," and died in Larbert, Scotland, in a hospital close to his home.

Much of the Harry Potter shared individual tributes to Coltrane on social media and otherwise, including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright and David Thewlis.

"Robbie was one of the funniest people I've met and used to keep us laughing constantly as kids on the set," star Radcliffe, 33, said in a statement. "I've especially fond memories of him keeping our spirits up on (2004's Harry Potter and the) Prisoner of Azkaban, when we were all hiding from the torrential rain for hours in Hagrid's hut and he was telling stories and cracking jokes to keep morale up."

"I feel incredibly lucky that I got to meet and work with him and very sad that he's passed," Radcliffe added. "He was an incredible actor and a lovely man."

Coltrane is survived by his sister Annie Rae; his two children, Alice and Spencer; and Alice and Spencer's mother, Rhona Gemmell.

Keke Wyatt Wants to Expand Her Family After Welcoming Baby #11

*Keke Wyatt revealed in the latest episode of TV One’s “Uncensored” that she wants to have a big family.

The songstress is mom to 11 children and when she welcomed son Ke’Zyah Jean In May — her second child with husband Zackariah Darring — Wyatt noted in an Instagram post that child is a “miracle” after he tested positive for a genetic disorder.

“Most of you are familiar with the challenges I faced during this pregnancy. My husband & I made the decision not to accept the Medical Specialist’s suggestion to terminate our baby early despite the positive trisomy 13 test results,” she wrote, as reported by Urban Hollywood 411.

We reported previously that prior to the baby’s birth, Wyatt disclosed that her unborn child had been disguised with trisomy 13, a rare genetic disorder. The announcement came during an emotional performance at the City Winery in March. She sang, “When the doctors told me that my son Rajjah had Leukemia cancer …I said Hallelujah. And recently I found out the doctor say my baby has Trisomy 13… Hallelujah.”

Mel B Reportedly Engaged to Longtime Boyfriend

*Mel B of Spice Girls fame is reportedly engaged to Rory McPhee, her boyfriend of three years.

According to The Blast, Mel and Rory started dating in 2018 and he appears to be her first serious relationship following her divorce from Stephan Belafonte. The Sun reports that McPhee recently proposed to Mel at the luxury country hotel Cliveden House in Berkshire.

“Mel is so happy, and this is such a big deal for her because she has been through such a lot,” a source told the outlet. “It has taken a huge amount for a man to get her to trust him and to believe in love again.”

“It has taken a huge amount for a man to get her to trust him and to believe in love again,” the source said.

“He’s the absolute opposite of so many of the guys she had relationships with,” the source continued. “He has really taken the time to understand what she’s been through. He is madly in love with her.”

Mel B was previously married to Belafonte for ten years and the former couple shares a young daughter.  The duo split in 2017, and Mel went on to accuse him of abusing her during their marriage — which Belafonte has vehemently denied.

The pair is currently embattled in a custody drama over their 11-year-old daughter Madison. An email Belafonte sent to Mel has come to light amid their ongoing legal sparring and in it, he accuses his ex of ruining her own career by making false accusations that he verbally and physically abused her.

Per The Blast, Stephen allegedly said, “you’ve single-handedly ruined your career trying to look like a victim, and no one bought into it, and now you keep preaching it to me no matter how much you say it it’s not gonna make that ever came [sic] true if I was so abusive and so hurtful you should be flourishing with your career in life now and not worrying about me just our daughter.”

He added, “I wasn’t trying to abuse you by offering someone who I trust around our daughter, and you trust it until you made up lies about the person. I was only interested in our daughter’s safety, and I knew she would be someone who would never hurt our daughter.”

Mississippi Unveils Emmett Till Memorial Statue: ‘Affirmation That Our Lives Matter’

A statute of the late Emmett Till has been unveiled in Mississippi.

Hundreds joined Friday as the city of Greenwood displayed a nine-foot bronze statue of Till in the downtown Rail Spike Park, about 40 miles south of the town where the 14-year-old Black teen was kidnapped, beaten, and lynched in 1955.

“This is a great day as we take another leap forward in recognizing the life and legacy of Emmett Till,” Rev. Wheeler Parker Jr. told ABC News. Parker. Parker is Till’s only surviving family member who saw him the night he was kidnapped.

“As so many people are determined to erase our history, we are blessed to have so many more allies in the struggle to keep our story alive,” Parker added. “This statue is affirmation that our lives matter.”

The monument features a likeness of Till’s iconic black-and-white portrait, wearing a button-down shirt and tie while tipping his hat, and was commissioned by Utah sculptor Matt Glenn, PEOPLE reported.

“I feel that when young people ask me what the memory of Emmett Till is, we have this statue as a memory,” said state Sen. David Jordan, who represents Greenwood and allocated $150,000 in state funding for the statue. “He liberated all Black people for all that he sacrificed.”

The statue comes after a historical marker was removed in 2019 at the site where his body was found. The previous memorial had become a place for racist attacks and had been both vandalized and riddled with bullet holes on multiple occasions.

Till was killed while visiting family members in Money, Miss.

Shopkeeper Carolyn Bryant Donham, a 21-year-old white woman, claimed that Till, a teen at the time, whistled and grabbed her inside her family’s grocery store on Aug. 24, 1955.

Several days later, he was kidnapped from his relative’s home in the middle of the night before he was beaten and lynched. His body was found three days later in the Tallahatchie River. It had been weighted down by a metal fan tied around his neck with barbed wire.

Bryant’s husband, Roy Bryant, and Bryant’s half-brother, J.W. Milam, were acquitted after an hour-long deliberation by an all-white, all-male jury. However, the two later confessed to the killing in an interview.

A biopic of his life story, Till, will be released in select theaters on October 28.

Barack Obama Encourages Gen Z To Vote In New PSA

With the midterm elections two weeks away, former President Barack Obama is encouraging Gen Z, which range from 18 to 24 years old, to vote.

"For those of you who are just turning 18 and were only three or four when I was elected, my name is Barack Obama," the former president said in a public service announcement with ATTN. "I was the 44th president of the United States and I have the best jump shot in White House history."

He encouraged young people to hold leaders accountable and added "Two years ago, more young people voted than in any other election since the 1970s. And because you did, the direction of the country changed." Obama also noted wins in the Biden-Harris administration, like COVID-19 vaccines, the most expansive bill to combat climate change and student loan forgiveness. He emphasized reasons to vote like abortion rights, gun safety, education, immigration rights and climate change.

See the PSA below:

This pivotal midterm election will determine which party will control Congress and statehouses around the country. According to The Hill, Obama will campaign Nov. 1 in Las Vegas during a rally to push early voting. He is also expected to campaign in Atlanta on Oct. 28 and in Detroit, and Milwaukee on Oct. 29

Five Tourists Have Been Rescued Safely After Getting Stuck Underground For 24 Hours At Grand Canyon Caverns

Five tourists have been rescued after they got trapped underground at Grand Canyon Caverns.

For 24 hours, five people were stuck about 200 feet beneath the Grand Canyon Caverns in Arizona. The group got stuck this past Sunday after an elevator “stopped working,” said Coconino County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jon Paxton Paxton in an interview with CNN.

On Tuesday morning, Paxton shared that all the tourists were safely rescued. “All subjects were safely removed at approximately 7:30 pm last night and were all in good condition,” Paxton told PEOPLE.

The issue with the elevator was found after people started exiting the caverns. There were 21 flights of stairs, several ladders and platforms leading to the exit. However, some of the tourists were physically incapable of climbing them.

The group, which included at least two people in their 70s, went down to the cavern for a 30-minute tour. “I can’t say thank you enough because they did everything so professionally, so safe,” said Sherry Jimenez, one of the folks who was rescued, KNXV-TV reports.
