#MAGFAB: Viola Davis for Elle Magazine Brasil
THE WOMAN KING Star Viola Davis cover the September 2022 issue of ELLE Brazil magazine photographed by MAR + VIN.
Viola Davis is a vision of beauty and grace on the September cover of Elle Brasil. The Woman King star dons a statement headpiece by Cecilio Castrillo in stunning images by Marcos Florentino + Kelvin Yule.
Davis is promoting her critically-acclaimed role in The Woman King as General Nanisca. The Woman King, released today in theaters, is an epic tale about the Agojie, an all-women militia who guard the African kingdom of Dahomey.
We recently spoke to Babalwa Mtshiselwa, who did makeup and prosthetics for The Women King. “A major thing for me was to make sure everyone looked completely natural but really beautiful and flawless. The second thing was to honor the fact that the women were warriors had battle scars, and they were proud of every scar they got from battle and from training,” said Mtshiselwa.
When it came to creating their battle wear, costume designer Gersha Phillips, revealed,
“We came up with a battle uniform based on several different things. One is the baggy African pant. And then, they would bind their chest and carry cross straps on their bodies. This is how they carried their weapons. So, this is how we came up with the halter idea. We also had tunics made authentically ish. We had fabrics woven in northern Ghana. Then we layered them to create a tight bodice and let the bottom hang to create a skirt.”
Viola and her badass tribe of women warriors recently covered Essence Magazine’s digital issue where they opened up about the magnitude of the film.
“Sometimes you’re in a project that’s bigger than you,” Davis told Essence. “You’re not thinking about box office. You’re not thinking about success. You’re thinking about transcendence.”
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, The Woman King is being hailed as a tour de force and has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

#RHOA: Shereé Whitfield breaks her silence on critiques of She by Shereé brand launch
Tune in to We Should Talk every Thursday, where In The Know’s Gibson Johns interviews your favorite celebrities and influencers. Subscribe to We Should Talk here.
As one of the original cast members of the game-changing Real Housewives of Atlanta, Shereé Whitfield has already cemented her place in reality TV history, but her story isn’t quite done.
Returning yet again for Season 14 of Bravo’s hit series this year, Whitfield continued to make her mark, bringing viewers into her tumultuous love life, shifting friendships and, perhaps most notably, pushing to deliver on the 14-year promise of debuting She by Shereé. In this season’s finale, she finally made good on her promise to put on a fashion show with fashions, opening up her eponymous brand’s website for ordering in conjunction with it airing on TV.
While it was a victorious moment for Whitfield, there were still some hiccups: The website crashed, customers complained about high prices and eagle-eyed fans noticed similarities between some of her offerings and products available at fast-fashion retailer Shein.
For the most recent episode of In The Know’s pop culture interview series, We Should Talk, Whitfield responded to a lot of the critiques of She by Shereé, opened up about the mental hurdles she’s had to overcome over the years as she struggled with the brand, what it was like returning to RHOA again, her thoughts on who should be around next season and more.
Keep reading for highlights from the interview:
On accusations that she copied Shein with her She by Shereé designs: I’ve gotten good production management, and they came up with the idea to incorporate some other pieces with my custom pieces that would offer different price points for different people. I’m not designing everything. I don’t design hats and things like that. All I can say is that apparently Shein shops at the same private label. Shame on that private label for selling anything that they sell to Fashion Nova or Shein; you shouldn’t sell to anybody else. This isn’t the first time this has been done, so I don’t understand why people hold me to a different degree than everybody else. Any of these online boutiques, any of the stores you go to and a lot of designers [use] private label. They’re not necessarily designing every garment in their line.
On the Season 14 reunion feeling different from past reunions: When I tell you I’ve never been happy about a reunion going into a reunion, I’ve never been comfortable. But for some reason, with my season, I felt really good about it. I was able to stand in it and be proud of it. In the past, I didn’t feel that. I feel a calm. I wasn’t anxious, I wasn’t nervous. I didn’t have any of that going into the reunion this time, and that is a first for me.
On the mental hurdles she overcame to bring She by Shereé to fruition after 14 years: It was a roller coaster, for sure. Even with all the naysayers, you had people who were happy and people who were hating. It’s a lot! It’s very draining, and it’s very disappointing. I’m not the only one who ever had a dream. I’m not the only one who ever took a while to make something come to fruition. I was just reading that Thomas Edison tried to create these lights, and it took him 3,000 times before he actually got it right. They act like I’m the only one who’s ever had a dream and wanted to create something that took a while. Life happens! I’m not consistently working on this. I get other things that are going on, and then with the negativity, it’s just a lot. … The negativity unfortunately seems to overshadow everything else.
On who she’d like to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta next season: I think someone could go! I would love to see another OG. I would love to see a Lisa Wu — I would even like to see Kim [Zolciak]. Kim is funny. I don’t know if she would come back. I think if I was there or another OG [was there], I think that she would. … I would definitely support Porsha [Williams] coming back. She has a good story. … One person [Drew Sidora] can leave for sure. She would not be missed at all.

#HipHopNews: Fat Joe Says Rappers Are An 'Endangered Species' After PnB Rock Murder
Rappers are becoming an endangered species, according to Fat Joe.
Just days after PnB Rock was fatally shot during a robbery at Roscoe’s Chicken ‘N Waffles, Joe sat down with Charlamagne Tha God on “Hell of a Week” where he was asked about the dangerous reality of being a rapper today.
“Rappers are the endangered species,” Joe said while recalling the countless tragedies in hip-hop. “We gettin’ hit up by the police, hit up by the feds, and we gettin’ hit up by our own for being in our hood trying to show love. So it’s so dangerous to be a rapper these days. It’s the hardest job out there right now.”
Joe also reflected on the events surrounding PnB Rock’s death. Just prior to Monday’s shooting, the rapper posted an Instagram Story in which he was seen wearing jewelry, while his girlfriend tagged the location of the restaurant. But Joe says that neither PnB nor his girlfriend should be blamed.
“The young brother was supporting Black-owned businesses, going to the Roscoe’s Chicken with his wife and his kid,” said Joe. “And so we got all these deflections of, ‘Oh, but his wife posted the chicken? Oh, he’s not supposed to wear jewelry?’ How about we not supposed to kill each other?”
Joe said he’s “not against him robbing,” but he doesn’t understand why the suspect had to take a life. “Why you gotta kill him? And that’s what bothers me,” he said. “And not only destroy that family, but what about the other families that are sitting at Roscoe’s and they see somebody get their brains blown out in front of them?”
Joe believes that the killings are rooted in jealousy. “People get mad at themselves. They get mad that they didn’t accomplish stuff in life. They look at themselves. They say, ‘Damn, I’m 40 years, 50 years, I ain’t got nothing.'”
He continued, “Nine times out of 10 they kill you in your own neighborhood ’cause they jealous of you. And we gotta stop being jealous.”
According to Joe, the only way to protect yourself is to hire professional security. “Right now, you need security. That’s the bottom line. And legit security,” he said.
Detectives are still trying to track down PnB’s killer, who fled the scene in a vehicle driven by someone else.
Common to Make Broadway Debut in Pulitzer Prize-Winning Play ‘Between Riverside and Crazy’
The production, from playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis and director Austin Pendleton, officially opens on Dec. 19 at Second Stage's Hayes Theater.
Common will step onto a Broadway stage for the first time this winter in Second Stage Theater’s Between Riverside and Crazy.
The rapper and actor — who is a Tony Award short of becoming an EGOT winner — was announced on Friday as part of the cast of the upcoming Broadway production from writer Stephen Adly Guirgis and director Austin Pendleton. The show will begin previews on Nov. 30 before opening on Dec. 19 at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater.
Common will star in the dark comedy as the recently paroled Junior, son of ex-cop and recent widower Walter “Pops” Washington (played by Stephen McKinley Henderson). The play follows the duo as they fight to hold on to one of the last rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive amid the rehashing of old wounds and in the face of sketchy new houseguests and a final ultimatum.
Common will join several previously announced Off-Broadway cast members returning to their roles including Henderson, Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colón, Liza Colón-Zayas and Michael Rispoli.
The Broadway production’s creative team includes Walt Spangler, who is heading up scenic design, and Alexis Forte, who will lead costume design, with lighting design by Keith Parham and both sound design and original music by Ryan Rumery. Casting is by Telsey + Company.
After a limited run opening Off-Broadway at The Atlantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater in July 2014, Second Stage produced a limited off-Broadway run of Between Riverside and Crazy from February to March 2015 at the Tony Kiser Theatre.
Between Riverside and Crazy won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for drama, the 2015 New York Drama Critics Circle Award for best play and the 2015 Lucille Lortel Award for outstanding play, among a number of other honors.
Christian Siriano rescheduled show just for Janet Jackson
Designer Christian Siriano moved his whole New York Fashion Week show earlier in the week just so the superstar could attend, According to Page Six “He usually shows during fashion week like on a Saturday, but he had it early this year on a Wednesday to accommodate her schedule. He was like, ‘If Janet’s coming, I don’t care if there are 10 people there, we will make it work,’ ” an insider said.
Needless to say, she was a sensation at the event, which was held at Elizabeth Taylor’s townhouse.
In fact there was such a swarm of photographers around Jackson, one cheekily mused on those basking in the reflected glory.
Journalist Derek Blasberg and editor Nina Garcia — neither of whom have been known to spy away from a lens — had the pleasure of being seated between Jackson. A photographer was overhead saying, “Those two are gonna eat up all this publicity they’re going to get.”
Meanwhile, her appearance at Sirano’s show made green (as in the color of envy) in this season.
Another source told Page Six that a flurry of designers begged Jacksons team to convince her to stay in town so that she could come to their show too. And, naturally, showered her with freebies in hopes of convincing her to accept the invite.
Siriano, who we’re told had never met the “Rhythm Nation” singer before even though she’s worn his pieces in the past, hosted her at his dinner after the show.
Coco Rocha, Leigh Lezark, Maye Musk, Kyle Smith, Candice Huffine, and Jasmine Poulton also dined with them and raised glasses more than once to the collection.
Rocha lead friends and supporters in more toasts to Siriano and his latest pieces.
Sara Kerens
The dinner ended at 9.30pm and the party continued at Paradise Club at the Times Square Edition, where the DJ spun Jackson’s tunes nonstop, we’re told.
A source at the club told us Jackson seemed “out to have a good time.”
Jackson also attended the Harlem Fashion Row event at Lincoln Center the evening before the Siriano show on Tuesday, where LVHM honored her with its “Icon of the Year” award.
Ludacris’ Manager Chaka Zulu ‘Charged With Murder’ After Shooting That Left One Dead And Two Hurt!
Rapper Ludacris’ longtime manager is allegedly charged with murder after being shot outside his restaurant, according to local reports.
Police said Shaka Zulu, whose real name is Ahmed Obafemi, was involved in a violent incident that left one person dead and two injured.
Authorities have linked Obafemi to a shooting that took place outside Buckhead Restaurant on June 26, Channel 2 Action News mentioned.
Police said an altercation led to a shooting that killed 23-year-old Artez Benton and wounded two others.
Local reporter Michael Seiden initially found that Obafemi was one of the shooting victims.
However, prison records show Obafemi is now facing charges stemming from the event, according to Channel 2 Action News.
On Tuesday, Obafemi surrendered to police and was booked into the Fulton County Jail on four counts including murder, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and petty battery, according to police records.
He was released on $200,000 bail the same day.
Obafemi initially received a bundle of good wishes when it was revealed that he had been injured in the shooting.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family has been pleading for answers regarding the death of their loved one, Artes Benton.
“We just want justice for Artis,” his older sister, Eritrea Benton, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“That’s the main thing we want. So if you see something, say something please.”
It is not clear when Obafemi will appear in court.
Story developing.
Tim Norman found guilty in arranging his nephew’s murder
A federal grand jury on Friday (Sept. 16) has convicted Tim Norman, former star of the St. Louis-based reality TV show “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” for arranging the shooting death of his own nephew.
Federal prosecutors said Norman, 43, hired two people to kill his 21-year-old nephew Andre Montgomery. He was gunned down in the 3900 block of Natural Bridge Road just after 8 p.m. on March 14, 2016 and then Norman tried to cash a $450,000 life insurance policy taken out on him months earlier. Norman was one of four people indicted in the conspiracy over his murder. Prosecutors said Norman paid $10,000 to an exotic dancer, Terica Ellis, to lure his nephew to the site where he was shot and paid $5,000 to Travell Anthony Hill to shoot Montgomery.
Norman was charged with conspiracy to commit murder for hire, murder for hire and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. The jury deliberated about 17 hours over three days before reaching its verdict in the murder-for-hire case against Norman, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Norman and Montgomery both starred in “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” a long-running OWN reality show about a popular soul food business founded in the St. Louis area by Robbie Montgomery — Norman’s mother and Andre’s grandmother.
After the verdict, defense attorney Michael Leonard said that he and Norman were “extremely surprised and disappointed in the outcome” of the case. He said they plan to appeal and that Norman continues to be optimistic that he will eventually prevail. Leonard stated that the testimony during the trial of two co-conspirators was shown to be “extremely non-credible.” Leonard also argued in his closing statement that the murder plot presented by prosecutors was a “made up theory.”
Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty but Norman could be sentenced to up to life in prison. His sentencing is set for Dec. 15.
John Boyega says pitting Black actors against Brits is petty and weak
Breaking star John Boyega is not picking a side in the ongoing debate about the prominence of British actors landing big roles over their American peers. In his interview with “The Breakfast Club” on Friday (Sept. 16), Boyega said pitting the two groups of actors against one another was futile and that instead of talking about each other to the mainstream media, there needs to be more discourse between them.
“I think number one, the first approach is to listen to each other because there might be a perspective that we are missing, right?” he started around the 28-minute mark of the conversation. “Coming into the game, and we are not coming into the game to steal anything. In fact, it’s impossible to steal a role, by the way. Roles are only offered. So, we come in just to work, but sometimes you don’t know whose toes you’re stepping on if you don’t actually listen to the people and the folks that are on the ground to tell you,” said the 30-year-old actor.
Discissions regarding the casting of Black Brits became a hot topic in 2017, when Samuel L. Jackson publicly shared that he wondered what the role of Chris Washington in Get Out would have looked like if Daniel Kaluuya, who is British, had not landed the gig. In short, Jackson said, “What would a brother from America have made of that role? Some things are universal, but not everything” during the March 2017 interview.
Boyega said that while he is British, he does not feel the debate personally resonates with him. He noted that his experience in the U.S. has been one where African Americans have shown him an abundance of support both professionally and in his private life.
“I think on set we collaborate a lot, even with roles as a Black Brit that people feel like I wouldn’t understand the role. Sometimes my African American brother don’t understand the role too, and we help each other ‘cause we weren’t there. At the end of the day, we are actors, we have to portray something that we can’t see,” he said.
The Woman King male lead said that the dialogue is necessary, but the framing of it needs to be shifted so that Black Brits and their U.S. peers are not rivals. “We should stay listening, stay collaborating because the civil war stuff s**t looks weak, it looks petty and weak, especially when it comes to the mainstream game. It looks a bit dead, but if we can talk and have a conversation about it, no one feels like it should be an attack thing. You know, let’s keep it cordial so we can actually have the conversation and perhaps we’ll learn a few things,” he concluded.

Sherri Shepherd’s Talk Show Reportedly Is Experiencing Behind-The-Scenes Drama After Former Wendy Williams Staffers are Seen Less on Set
Sherri Shepherd’s daytime television talk show “Sherri” is here, and there’s already reported drama brewing behind the scenes with some of Wendy Williams’ former employees. The veteran comedian served as guest host on Williams’ show, “The Wendy Williams Show,” after the longtime presenter stepped away due to complications from severe health issues. The show was eventually canceled after 13 seasons.
According to an unidentified source who spoke to Cinema Blend, many of Williams’ former crew members now believe they may be axed next. Per the individual: “Staffers for Sherri have been in her ear saying there should be some sort of loyalty test from The Wendy Williams Show holdovers. Norman [Baker] and Suzanne [Bass] want to believe they’ll stick around but sooner or later, I’m sure they are going to get pushed out. There’s no real place for them now.”
Baker and Bass, who worked on “The Wendy Williams Show” as supervising and co-executive producers, respectively, were familiar faces on the show. The two often were seen on camera interacting with Williams during popular segments, like during the opening moments or Hot Topics. However, since Shepherd’s show aired, the pair has been noticeably absent, only further fueling the talk of concern regarding staff.
Shepherd made her debut as a daytime talk show host on Monday, Sept. 12. The 55-year-old formally welcomed viewers to the “Sherri” show during her opening monologue.
“And in case you don’t know, I am Sherri Shepherd,” she continued. “I am a comedian; I am an actress, I’m an Emmy-winning former co-host of The View… I’m also a mother, a girlfriend, and I’m also the girl next door who just happens to be living her dream because I’m hosting my own talk show!”
Episode one was a star-studded event with “The Real Housewives” of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and comedian Kym Whitley as Shepherd’s first guests. Ninety-seven-year-old internet sensation Lorene Harmon later joined the actress.
Before the show’s airing, Shepherd revealed her plans to move away from the show’s more gossip-heavy topics as seen in prior segments like “Hot Topics.” “I’m not trying to be mean to anybody because my outlook of life is definitely through the lens of love,” she said. “That’s unique to me.”
Tamar Braxton Coyly Responds to Dating Rumors After Being Spotted with Atlanta Businessman
Tamar Braxton kept fans and the “Dish Nation” co-hosts on their toes after the singer briefly opened up about her dating life during her Sept. 14 guest appearance on the show.
This admission comes almost a month after Braxton made headlines when she attended a surprise birthday party for her rumored boo, Atlanta businessman Jeremy Robinson. Prior to that, the pair was spotted hanging out at what appeared to be a club. Despite Braxton and Robinson’s public appearances, no additional details about the rumored couple have been released.

During the episode, Braxton revealed when asked for an update about her dating life that although she is in the streets enjoying herself, her social media DMs are “dry.”
Without mentioning Robinson’s name, she said, “No, my DM’s are dry, but Tamar is definitely in the streets. Okay, Tamar Street Braxton.” When asked if Braxton was casually hooking up with anyone, the 45-year-old said, “I’m just going outside having fun.”
Further in the conversation, as the topic shifted to music, Braxton claimed that her new album would include her dating life, which she jokingly referred to as “Streets Braxton.”
Following her appearance, Braxton promoted the clip on her official Instagram page with the caption, “We dishing Chile on @dishnation with the crew.” As fans viewed the video, many in the comments section immediately brought up Braxton’s remarks and rumored boyfriend.
One fan went as far as to say that Braxton was coy about her alleged relationship with Robinson because the mother of one doesn’t want to claim him.
“Tamar is not in the streets…… with that JR Law chain.”
“Yeah in the streets of JR LAW.”
“Tamar ‘Street’ Braxton.”
“She is slick trying to tell everyone that Dusty Dan is not her man.”
Tee Grizzley’s Los Angeles Home Burglarized, Nearly $1 Million in Jewelry and Cash Stolen
The Los Angeles home of Tee Grizzley was broken into this week, as burglars made off with nearly $1 million in cash and jewelry.
TMZ reports the Detroit rapper was victim to a break-in, with burglars smashing a window to gain entrance into Tee Grizzley’s home in the Porter Ranch neighborhood outside Los Angeles. The outlet notes that the jewelry stolen was worth nearly $1 million, while “a ton” of cash was also seized.
“According to the police report, no one was home at the time of the break-in, and there’s an open investigation,” TMZ wrote.
The news arrives a few months after Tee dropped his latest full-length offering Half Tee Half Beast, which included the previously released single “Robbery Part 3,” as well as guest appearances from Lakeyah and Baby Grizzley.
In addition the Detroit native recently linked up with XSET to provide personal gaming consoles to ex-inmates, as well as inviting them to join the Grizzley Gang and play in the rapper’s customized Grand Theft Auto roleplay server, Grizzley World RP.
“I’m excited to join XSET and take Grizzley Gang Gaming to the next level,” Grizzley said of the partnership. “I’ve always loved gaming for fun, but now it’s so much more than that. I’ve seen how this industry can really change lives and I can’t wait to provide more opportunities for people who have faced similar challenges and adversities as I have.”
Man Pleads Guilty After Threatening to Bomb Merriam-Webster Over Gender Definitions
A California man is facing years behind bars after threatening to bomb Merriam-Webster over its updated gender definitions.
According to the Department of Justice, 34-year-old Jeremy David Hanson pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court last week, about five months after he was arrested for sending hate-fueled messages to the publishing company. Prosecutors say the Rossmoor resident expressed outrage over the dictionary’s decision to include gender identity in its definitions of “woman,” “girl,” and “female.”
“You [sic] headquarters should be shot up and bombed,” he allegedly wrote in October 2021. “It is sickening that you have caved to the cultural Marxist, anti-science tranny [sic] agenda and altered the definition of ‘female’ as part of the Left’s efforts to corrupt and degrade the English language and deny reality. You evil Marxists should all be killed. It would be poetic justice to have someone storm your offices and shoot up the place, leaving none of you commies alive.”
Less than a week later, Hanson posted the following comment on Merriam-Webster’s website:
I am going to shoot up and bomb your offices for lying and creating fake definitions in order to pander to the tranny mafia. Boys aren’t girls, and girls aren’t boys. The only good Marxist is a dead Marxist. I will assassinate your top editor. You sickening, vile tranny freaks.
In response to the threats, the publishing company reportedly closed its NYC and Springfield, Massachusetts offices for five days.
According to the DOJ, Hanson also admitted to sending threatening messages to various lawmakers and companies, including NYC Mayor Eric Adams, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Walt Disney Co., and toy-maker Hasbro.

“Hanson also admitted that he frequently selected the object of his threatening communications because of the gender, gender identity and/or sexual orientation of various persons,” the DOJ wrote.
The man pleaded guilty to one count of threatening violence over interstate communications in connection to the Merriam-Webster case. He pleaded guilty to a similar offense, originally filed in the Eastern District of Texas, for threats made against the University of North Texas president.
Hanson reportedly faces up to five years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for early 2023.

Rajon Rondo Reaches Settlement in Assault and Battery Lawsuit From 2020 Parking Lot Fight
Rajon Rondo has reached a settlement with the woman who accused the free agent point guard and his girlfriend of assault and battery in July of 2020.
TMZ reports Jorshari’s legal team filed a notice this week in a Los Angeles court regarding the settlement.
Back in 2020, Rondo was caught on camera seemingly nudging a woman, Toktam Jorshari, before Rondo’s girlfriend Latoia Fitzgerald punched her. Jorshari claimed the fight was over a parking spot, and the woman putting her vehicle too close to Rondo’s Rolls Royce. Rondo has since faced a $1 million lawsuit in the incident, and his legal team claimed he did nothing wrong by stepping into the middle of the fight.
“No man should ever put their hands on a woman,” Jorshari’s attorneys said in December 2020, when the lawsuit was filed. “Especially an NBA basketball player with superior height and strength. The video speaks for itself.
Rondo, who played for the Cleveland Cavs last year, remains a free agent heading into the 2022-23 NBA season.
The news arrives on the heels of another legal win for Rondo, whose domestic violence case was dismissed in June.
On June 16, a judge ordered the dismissal of the emergency protection order that was filed against the Cavaliers point guard in May. TMZ reported the reason for the dismissal is that Rondo and his accuser, Ashley Bachelor, “reached an agreement.”

*As we reported earlier, Don Lemon will lose his primetime CNN show on weeknights to co-anchor the network’s reimagined morning show with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins
The new morning show will debut later in the year with a new name, format, and set — and signals the end of “Don Lemon Tonight” after an eight-year run. CNN did not announce any plans for how it will fill Lemon’s primetime slot, which has long lagged behind Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle’ in the ratings”
CNN CEO Chris Licht, who had previously signaled that he planned to shake up the network’s morning programming, praised his newly named team.
“There is no stronger combination of talent than Don, Poppy and Kaitlan to deliver on our promise of a game-changing morning news program,” Licht said in a statement.
Of course, there are the haters/critics out there on Twitter who see it as simple as Lemon being demoted.
Well, Lemon expressed his views on the situation himself during a recent broadcast, addressing the rumors head-on.
“For all of those who are out there saying he ‘moved’ me, he asked me and I said yes. I could have said no. This is my show, I have a contract with this show. I decided that I would take him up on that and take this journey with him,” Lemon said.
“This is not someone saying, ‘You must move to the right, Don Lemon, you must not be so — give so much of your perspective,'” Lemon said on CNN, emphasizing that he chose to make the move to mornings.”
Lemon added: “None of that has happened … I was not demoted. This is an opportunity for me to create something around me, and I get to work with two great ladies.”
Some Twitter users didn’t buy it, seeing it as a punishment for Lemon over his outspoken liberal views.
One person tweeted, “Don Lemon gets demoted, losing the highly rated prime time show named after him, to be relegated to a losing morning slot show, that he now shares with people who will push more Tr*mp friendly talking points, in the name of “balance.'”
Teddy Riley Sits At Red Table and Tells Why He Hasn’t Seen Youngest Son in 3 Years
*You have to feel for Teddy Riley, the legendary producer from 90s and 00s for what he’s been dealing with as far not being able to see his son for three years now. Riley recently sought help by bringing his situation to “Red Table Talk.”
Riley, with two Grammys under his belt, sat down with hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris, to speak out about custody and child support regarding his son.
“I’m just hearing from so many different people that his mom’s goal is to keep him away from me,” Riley said. “It really hurts because here’s someone I wanted to marry and I gave everything to.”
Astonishingly, over 22 million adults have been targets of parental alienation in the United States, according to Psychiatric Time
Riley admitted that he didn’t meet his biological father until he was nine and told himself that he never wanted to put his child in the same situation.
“I have to change the narrative and be in all of my kids’ lives,” he adds. The 54-year-old has nine kids and claims that Mykal’s mother doesn’t want her son to have a relationship with his siblings.
Riley revealed that his son’s mother came up with a contract that did not involve the courts.
“We have a co-parenting contract, and I lived to that contract,” he shares before going over what he says are the contract’s details. “[The contract] is one-sided because in the contract, I let her have the physical custody and I did not read that. I just said ‘You do it. You handle it because she actually worked for my accountant and she knew everything.”
Riley added: “Now, it’s a co-parenting contract where I pay this much and I’ll share statements. Then she said once he gets in first grade, in the contract it goes down a half.”
“When it went down half, she went to court,” he admitted. “She wanted to get past the contract and just went straight for the gusto.”
The producer also goes on to say that he doesn’t want to speak negatively about her.
“One thing I don’t want to do is bash her,” he adds. “There’s going to be a point where I’m going to see him because I will spend my everything to see my son.”
Michael Jordan’s Game-Worn 1998 Finals Jersey Sells For $10m
A game-worn Michael Jordan jersey from the 1998 NBA Finals was expected to sell for around $5 million. According to TMZ, the actual sell was for $10 million.
The jersey went up for auction on Sept. 6, and the holy grail of basketball jerseys closed at $10,091,000. The jersey is now the highest selling basketball jersey at a Sotheby auction, the highest price for any game-worn sports memorabilia ever, and the most paid for a Michael Jordan item.
In the jersey, Jordan dropped 33 points on Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz. The Bulls lost the game but would win the series, getting the Bulls their sixth NBA championship.
The jersey worn by the greatest player ever in his last NBA Finals was on auction on Sotheby’s from Sept. 6 to Sept. 14. The jersey was expected to have a closing bid between $3 million and $5 million.
“Red is really the color that people think about when they think about Michael Jordan, and this is the only red Finals jersey to ever appear at auction,” said Sotheby’s head of streetwear and modern collectibles Brahm Watcher to the New York Post.
Tom Brady And Gisele Bündchen Have Been Living Separately For Over A Month: Report!
Sources close to Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen say that the couple has been living separately for the past six weeks amid reports that their marriage has hit a rough patch.
Rumors began circulating about trouble between the couple after the star quarterback decided not to retire from the NFL. Sources close to the couple tell People that the supermodel wants Brady to spend more time with her and the kids. The two share 12-year-old Benjamin Rein and 9-year-old Vivian Lake. Brady also shares 15-year-old John Edward with his ex, Bridget Moynahan.
“During the season, they live separate lives,” a source claims. Another insider confirmed to the outlet that Bündchen has been spending time away.
However, another source said time is not an issue since Brady has “six months off a year to be devoted to just their family.” Additionally, the couple has no plans to move out of their Indian Creek Village home.
“They both want to live in Miami; they love it and have loads of friends there,” says the first source. “I don’t think there is any formal separation at this point. They would like to work things out.”
The news comes after the 45-year-old football star took an 11-day leave from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice. He told reporters it was “to deal with some personal things” and that “everyone has different situations they’re dealing with.”
Brady and Bündchen married on Feb. 26, 2009, just one month after getting engaged.
London Heathrow Airport Will Cancel Flights On Monday For Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral
London’s Heathrow Airport announced it would cancel flights on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral to prevent potential noise disturbances.
The cancellations are the airport’s way of “supporting the ceremonial aspects” of the queen’s funeral, which will take place on Monday, Sept. 19, an airport rep said.
The funeral is scheduled for Westminster Abbey in downtown London with a Committal Service planned for Windsor Castle, Travel and Leisure reported.
In total, about 15% of the airport’s schedule will be impacted by the decision, the BBC reported. This includes 100 British Airways flights and four Virgin Atlantic flights.
“As a mark of respect, operations to and from the airport will be subject to appropriate changes in order to avoid noise disturbance at certain locations at specific times on Monday,” the airport shared said in a statement.
“Heathrow and airlines are working closely with [air navigation service provider] NATS to minimize the impact of these restrictions on passengers. In order to observe these moments on Monday, airlines will need to adjust their schedules accordingly, which will mean some changes to flights.”
Heathrow said travelers affected will be contacted by their airlines directly.
Heathrow also warned that roads around the airport would be crowded and has “encouraged” passengers to “avoid traveling by car to the airport, and to use public transport instead.”
For its part, British Airways released a statement saying, “as the Royal Family holds Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, the skies around West London will be closed at certain moments of the day to reduce noise, as a mark of respect to Her Majesty. As a result, we have reduced our schedule, and some flights will be re-timed to accommodate this.”
In addition to flight cancellations, Heathrow will also observe “the National Moment of Reflection” by having a minute of silence at 8 p.m. on Sept. 18, show the funeral on airport screens on Sept. 19, and close all non-essential shops on Sept. 19
