#RHOA: Peter Thomas Admits He Doesn't Like Phaedra Parks: 'Throw The Rock And Hide Her Hands'
Former The Real Housewives of Atlanta husband Peter Thomas is always outspoken on anything Housewives-related, including Phaedra Parks. Thomas was married to former housewife Cynthia Bailey. They split for good in 2017. While on the show, his relationships with his co-stars were always up and down. During a recent podcast episode of Carlos King's Reality With the King, Thomas admitted to King that never liked Parks and explained why.
Why Peter says he never liked Phaedra
Thomas told King the first time he met Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida, they nearly fought. They almost came to blows because Thomas talked about his opinion of Parks in an interview with Uptown Magazine. Thomas said his opinion of Parks never changed.
“I think she’s the kind of person to throw the rock and hide her hands. I’m like, ‘This chick is messy as hell.’ She would throw the rock, hide her hands, and then push Porsha [Williams] to go do her dirty work. That s–t is crazy,” he said.
Despite him never liking Parks, he remains close friends with her ex-husband. The two have even done business deals together.

#HipHopNews: Stream Lizzo's New Album 'Special'
Nearly three years since her last album, Lizzo returns with her fourth studio album Special. In addition to the chart-topping hit “About Damn Time” and the Beastie Boys-sampled “Grrrls,” the 12-track set includes songs like “I Love You Bitch,” “Everybody’s Gay,” “Naked,” and the soon-to-be anthem “Birthday Girl.”

“I think love is the heart of this album. I think everything I’ve been doing prior to Special was in pursuit of love. And it was like, Cuz I Love You was an almost autobiographical album about who I want to be,” Lizzo told Apple Music. “Special is almost a celebration of who I am right now, it’s very present. And I think the only place love can really exist is in the present.”
Lizzo will bring Special to a city near you on her “Special Tour” with Latto, which kicks off Sept. 23 in Sunrise, Fla.

Christopher Meloni strip down and bulk up for National Nude Day
We knew Christopher Meloni was buff, but his new ad for Peloton reminds us exactly how buff the famously buff actor is thanks to his in-the-buff workout routine. (Got it?)
In May, Meloni told Men's Health that he enjoys working out naked. Peloton tucked that factoid away and struck when the time was right. Now, in honor of National Nude Day, Meloni has stripped down to his skin to show off the different ways he uses the Peloton App to stay fit — although the thing getting the biggest workout might be the blur button.
"Apparently some people think the way I work out is strange," Meloni says at the top of the ad as he slings around free weights in his altogether. "Honestly, I don't get it."
From there, he touts the benefits of the app for activities such as yoga, cardio, meditation, and jogging. The only clothing in sight is his bright white sneaks and socks. Even a dog he jogs past is wowed by his physique. Woof.
Meanwhile, the squats involved with Meloni's strength-training routine prove to be too much for the unseen camera operator, who collapses and gets a concerned through-the-legs check-in from a bent-over Meloni. (Friends, getcha a workout buddy who'll offer to call for help when his powerful glutes prove to be too much.)
The ad then closes with a stern male voice that will be familiar to any lover of the Law & Order universe: "In the Peloton community, users are represented by two separate yet equally motivated groups: those who wear pants... and Christopher Meloni."
Naked Meloni is definitely one way for Peloton to apologize for (or take a victory lap on?) killing Mr. Big in the December And Just Like That premiere. And with so much cheeky — literally! — humor, it's no surprise that the company behind the ad is Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort, which also produced the Peloton ad that resurrected Chris Noth following his character's demise in the Sex and the City spin-off. (The ad was quickly pulled when sexual harassment accusations against the actor began to mount.)
WATCH
Reynolds' company has a history with the exercise equipment company and interactive fitness platform. In 2019, Maximum Effort produced a commercial for the actor's Aviation Gin that poked fun at a Peloton ad for terrifying a woman into exercise.
Kodak Black Arrested On Drug Charges In Florida
Kodak Black was arrested in South Florida after oxycodone pills were allegedly found in his car.
The “Super Gremlin” rapper was booked Friday into jail in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and charged with possession of a controlled substance without prescription and trafficking in oxycodone, according to the Associated Press.
The Florida Highway Patrol pulled over the purple Dodge Durango that Kodak was riding in because of window tints that appeared darker than the legal limit. After detecting a marijuana smell, police searched the vehicle and found a small clear bag containing 31 white tablets and almost $75,000 in cash. The tablets were later identified as oxycodone.
Black’s vehicle tag and driver’s license were also reportedly expired.
Following his arrest, Kodak’s lawyer spoke out in a statement. “Never judge a case based on an arrest,” tweeted Bradford Cohen. “There are facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case.”
The 25-year-old Black is behind bars at Broward County jail where he awaits a bond hearing. “We negotiated a bond of $75,000 and we will move forward with resolving the matter quickly,” added Cohen.
On New Year’s Day, Black was arrested in his Pompano Beach hometown on trespassing charges, which were later dropped.
Terrence Howard, The Actor, Claims He’s Developed ‘New Hydrogen Technology’ That Can ‘Defend The Sovereignty’ Of Uganda
In a bold claim for a former star of the hit TV series, Empire, actor Terrence Howard has reportedly cracked the world of physics wide open by somehow developing a “new hydrogen technology.” During a visit to Uganda where the actor is hoping to drum up investors, Howard claimed his bold discovery can be wielded to defend the African country’s sovereignty.
“I was able to identify the grand unified field equation they’ve been looking for, and put it into geometry,” Howard claimed in his presentation where he also boasted that this new hydrogen tech will work seamlessly with his patented Lynchpin drone technology.
Via Vice:
“We’re talking about unlimited bonding, unlimited predictable structures, super symmetry,” Howard said, in one representative part of the address. “The Lynchpins are now able to behave a a swarm, as a colony, that can defend a nation, that can harvest food, that can remove plastics from the ocean, that can give the children of Uganda and the people of Uganda an opportunity to spread this and sell these products throughout the world.”
This isn’t the first time that Howard has claimed to have turned the world of math and science upside down. The actor left people scratching their heads during a 2019 Emmys red carpet interview when he claimed that he’d “made some discoveries in my own personal life with the science that, you know, Pythagoras was looking for” and “[could] prove that gravity is only an effect and not a force.”
And, of course, there was his viral claim to Rolling Stone that one times one equals two.
According to Vice, Howard has not responded to requests on “how he identified the grand unified field equation” for his new hydrogen technology.
Beyonce Did Not Like How Skinny She Looked In The ‘Austin Powers In Goldmember’ Poster
You cannot mess with Beyonce in any way. Whether it comes to music or anything, really, the Lemonade artist manages to rise above it all. While feelings about her acting career tend to be polarizing, her success is beyond undeniable. Yet, Beyonce Knowles is not afraid to acknowledge moments where she isn’t presented in the best light.
Vulture recently revisited Austin Powers In Goldmember and learned that the film’s makeup artist, Kate Biscoe, said the 40-year-old felt she looked too skinny on the movie’s poster. Biscoe, asked someone on the crew, after Beyonce walked away: “Is that the first time that you’ve ever had an actress ask to make her body bigger?”, to which he replied “Yes. It’s going to cost me thousands of dollars, but I am going to do it.”
Though this was an unfortunate situation, Beyonce has provided much entertainment throughout her acting career. Prior to Austin Powers In Goldmember, she first entered the cinematic universe with Carmen: A Hip Hopera in 2001. Since then, the “Irreplaceable” artist has had major roles in Dreamgirls, Obsessed, and The Lion King. As for music, Queen Bee released “Break My Soul” in June and Renaissance is set to release on July 29th.
Charles Barkley’s Message To The LGBTQ+ Community: ‘I Love You!’
Charles Barkley has long been an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, and most recently, he gave his candid support in a video that’s now gone viral.
In a video that appeared to be posted on TikTok and spread across Twitter, the NBA Hall-of-Famer said, “if you’re gay and transgender, I love you!”
He added: “I want to say this: If you’re gay and transgender, I love you! Hey and if anybody give you s**t, you tell them Charles said ‘F**k you!’” The comments elicited cheers.
The footage indicated that the location was Harveys Lake Tahoe, which is a casino and hotel located in Stateline, Nevada.
Barkley has a history of being a vocal critic of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. In 2016, he spoke out against a North Carolina law that barred trans people from using the bathroom that aligned with their gender identity and instead required them to use the one that aligned with their biological sex.
In 2017, Barkley called for the 2017 All-Star Game that was set to take place in Charlotte to be moved because of the legislation. The NBA later relocated the event.
Ricky Martin's Attorney Says Allegations of a Sexual Relationship with His Nephew Are NOT TRUE!
Ricky Martin is denying bombshell domestic violence allegations reportedly filed by his 21-year-old nephew.
via: People
“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew,” Marty Singer, attorney for the Puerto Rican singer, told PEOPLE exclusively in a statement.
He continued, “The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”
Earlier this month, a complaint was made under Law 54, also known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act per the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law, but due to the nature of the bill authorities did not reveal the petitioner’s name. Martin denied these allegations.
“The allegations against Ricky Martin that lead to a protection order are completely false and fabricated,” representatives for Martin, 50, told PEOPLE at the time. “We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”
Police attempted to issue the restraining order earlier this month in an upscale neighborhood in Puerto Rico — where the singer is from —the Associated Press reported on July 2.
“Up until now, police haven’t been able to find him,” police spokesman Axel Valencia told the AP. Valencia also told the AP that the order prevents Martin from contacting the person who made the complaint and that a judge will later decide whether the order should remain in place.
Earlier this week, however, Spanish media outlet Marca reported that Eric Martin, the singer’s brother, revealed the petitioner is Ricky’s nephew.
The news comes after his ex-manager Rebecca Drucker sued the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer for more than $3 million in unpaid commissions, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE that were filed with the Los Angeles Central District Court on June 29.
The 15-page complaint claimed that Drucker helped Martin through “recording contracts, touring and sponsorship deals, and other professional endeavors,” adding, “With Rebecca at his side, Martin made millions of dollars and therefore owes Rebecca substantial commissions.”

Transgender Swimmer Lia Thomas Nominated For NCAA 2022 Woman Of The Year Award
The University of Pennsylvania has nominated transgender swimmer Lia Thomas for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award, the American college sports regulating body said.
The award acknowledges female student-athletes who have defined themselves in their communities, athletics, and academics, according to the NCAA’s website.
“As 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the NCAA Woman of the Year program is an important opportunity to honor and reflect on the impact of women on intercollegiate sports,” the NCAA wrote in a press release.
As we previously reported, Thomas, a former swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania, won the 500-yard freestyle event at the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in March. Thomas’ role in college women’s swimming has brought on a major national debate. Riley Gaines, a swimmer at the University of Kentucky who tied with Lia Thomas for fifth place at the NCAA swimming championships in March, said that a majority of female athletes aren’t okay with the trajectory of female sports.
“The majority of us female athletes, or females in general, really, are not okay with this, and they’re not okay with the trajectory of this and how this is going and how it could end up in a few years,” Gaines said on the “Unmuted with Marsha” podcast with Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.
Caitlyn Jenner, a transgender activist also spoke publicly about the backlash as well calling Thomas’ participation in the women’s division “one of the worst things to happen to the trans community.”
“I knew there would be scrutiny against me if I competed as a woman, and I was prepared for that,” the 22-year-old Texan told “Good Morning America” in her first TV interview about the controversy sparked by her record-breaking performances in the pool.
“I intend to keep swimming … It’s been a goal of mine to swim at Olympic trials for a very long time, and I would love to see that through,” she said.
Gwen Stefani Accused Of Cultural Appropriation For Wearing Dreadlocks In Sean Paul Music Video
Gwen Stefani’s new music video with Sean Paul and Shenseea is getting a lot of unwanted attention from people accusing the pop star of cultural appropriation. In the visual for Sean’s latest single titled “Light My Fire,” Gwen, who is a featured artist on the track, can be seen in a dress in the colors of the Jamaican flag while her bleach-blonde hair has transitioned to dreadlocks.
People on social media certainly made their opinions heard, with Gwen’s name trending on Twitter on Friday morning, but the feedback to the video wasn’t all that positive. “Ahhhh Gwen Stefani went back to her Jamaican roots. Nature is really healing,” one person joked, while another added, “It’s just odd because I doubt Carrie Underwood would have dreads in a music video featuring Burna Boy…… so Gwen Stefani needs to check today’s temperature.”
Another person tweeted, “Gwen Stefani even has ~dread~ like twists in that video. I am proper screaming. She has seen all the tweets saying her cultural appropriation era is missed and she said BET.” Of course, this isn’t the first time people have accused Gwen of cultural appropriation, after having previously dated her No Doubt bandmate Tony Kanal — who is of Indian descent — in the ’90s, during which time she began wearing a bindi.
Then, when she released her debut album “Love Angel Music Baby,” it appeared Gwen was heavily inspired by the Japanese culture, including the addition of hiring two Japanese dancers as her “Harajuku Girls.”
In a 2019 interview with Billboard, the mother-of-three addressed the aforementioned backlash, saying she felt somewhat offended by the fact that people perceived her work with Japanese dancers to be offending their culture.
“When you’re from Anaheim and never traveled outside of your city until you’re 21 years old, it was really crazy to go to Japan,” she explained. “My dad went there a lot because he worked with Yamaha motorcycles, so I had a fascination from a young age. When I got there and saw how fashion-obsessed they were, I thought they were my people, because my style was so unique.”
“I get a little defensive when people [call it culture appropriation], because if we didn’t allow each other to share our cultures, what would we be?” she asked. “You take pride in your culture and have traditions, and then you share them for new things to be created.”
Gwen has sold a whopping 30 million albums worldwide and deemed one of the best-selling pop artists of the ‘00s, with hits including “Luxurious,” “Hollaback Girl,” “Cool,” and “The Sweet Escape.”
MSNBC's Symone Sanders Weds Shawn Townsend in Surprise D.C. Ceremony
Symone D. Sanders is having a banner year — first as the anchor of her own show, now as a beautiful bride!
The MSNBC host said "I do" in a surprise Washington, D.C. wedding ceremony on Friday afternoon following her year-long engagement to Shawn Townsend. The pair kicked off their happily ever after at the historic Larz Anderson House on Embassy Row.
In May, Sanders told PEOPLE she and Townsend planned to marry in Mexico this summer, but it seems the busy host made other plans.
Surrounded by about 100 friends and family members — only a few of whom knew that they were attending a wedding — the couple exchanged vows, with Townsend calling the bride his "ride or die."
"It's the moments behind closed doors that we've shared," Townsend continued. "Whether it's me complaining about Real Housewives, a political debate or photobombing my Zoom calls. It is all time well spent together."
Sanders vowed to "always be there" for her new husband. "To put it simply you're the best man I know," she said. "I'm very grateful just for everything that you are. You have always just been the most thorough person. You are so kind. You are so loving."
Cheers met the newlyweds as Pastor Dededrick O. Rivers of Ward Memorial AME Church, a close friend and advisor of the couple, proclaimed the couple officially husband and wife.
Mr. and Mrs. Townsend then jumped the broom to seal the union, a common tradition at Black weddings.
Later that evening additional guests gathered, expecting to celebrate the couple's engagement, but were surprised when the pair was announced as "Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Townsend."
Spotted at the celebration were fellow media professionals and political advisors, including CNN's Abby Phillip and MSNBC's Catherine Snyder, who executive produces Sanders' show Symone.
Guests sipped Champagne and admired the couple during their first dance, to Jac Ross' "So Into You [Darkchild Main Version]" featuring D-Nice.
In the fall, Mr. and Mrs. Townsend will embark on a Mediterranean honeymoon for two weeks. For now, they will enjoy newlywed life in Washington, D.C.
Although it seems Sanders deviated from the plans she made this spring, one thing that didn't change was the intimacy of the ceremony.
"I am so excited, over the moon excited," Sanders told PEOPLE then. "It'll be a smaller wedding. I know people are probably expecting a big, huge blowout thing, but it will be our immediate circle, our friends and family."
Sanders and Townsend are a political power couple in the nation's capital.
Sanders spent years working in politics and on cable TV on the path to becoming the host of Symone, from the Omaha mayor's office to presidential campaigns for Bernie Sanders in 2016 and now-President Joe Biden in 2020, before serving on his transition team and then as chief spokesperson and senior adviser for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Townsend formerly served as the director of the D.C. Mayor's Office of Nightlife and Culture, a.k.a. the "Night Mayor."
#RIP: The Delfonics Lead Singer William ‘Poogie’ Hart Dies at 77
William “Poogie” Hart, lead singer of legendary Philadelphia soul act the Delfonics, has died, his son Hadi confirmed to TMZ. According to the report, Hart was taken to Philadelphia’s Temple University Hospital after suffering breathing difficulties and died Thursday due to complications from surgery. He was 77.
Powered by Hart’s high, sweet falsetto, the Delfonics were one of the leaders of the Philadelphia’s vibrant soul scene of the early 1970s, lighting up FM radio with songs like “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time),” “La-La (Means I Love You),” “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)” and many others, most of which were co-written by Hart with legendary producer Thom Bell. They were introduced to later generations by Quentin Tarantino’s 1997 film “Jackie Brown,” where their music appears several times and was even used as a plot device in the film.
The group was one of many who worked with legendary writer-producer Bell, whose smooth, heavily orchestrated arrangements helped to create a new genre of soul music that dominated radio in the era. The Delfonics’ hits were also marked by unusual punctuation in their titles, heavy on parentheses; curiously, the original single release reads “La-La-Means I Love You.”
In the “Delfonics Unsung” documentary, Hart said the song’s title was inspired by his son, who was an infant at the time. “My son used to always wake up and he would say ‘La-la, la-la,’ And I thought, wow, ‘La-la’ means l love you. That cuts out a lot of words and it gets right to the point.”
The group, originally called the Orphonics, was co-founded by Hart with his brother Wilbert. The two were later joined by singers Randy Cain and Major Harris. Their debut album, “La La Means I Love You,” was released in 1968 and not only featured the group’s first hit in the title track, but also the songs “Break Your Promise” and “I’m Sorry.”
The outfit followed with a self-titled sophomore album in 19870, which spawned “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind,” a song that earned the group a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1971. However, their chart success began to lose steam as the decade progressed and the group split into two separate outfits, scoring middle success.
However, their legacy soon began to bear fruit with later generations, particularly in the mid-1990s. Their 1968 hit “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)” was sampled by the Fugees on their blockbuster 1996 album “The Score,” and Missy Elliott samples the song as well for her “Sock It 2 Me” single a year later. Also in ’96, Prince covered “La La Means I Love You” on his “Emancipation” album. But the biggest look came with “Jackie Brown,” when Max Cherry (played by Robert Forster) falls in love with the titular character, portrayed by Pam Grier, and assists her with a robbery involving a gangster. Jackie is obsessed with early ’70s soul, particularly the Delfonics, and Cherry buys a cassette of their music. While in his car with the gangster — Ordell Robbie, played by Samuel L. Jackson — the cassette starts playing. Robbie’s suspicion is immediately aroused — Cherry, a middle-aged white former cop, hardly seems like a Philly soul fan — and the group’s name is immortalized in cinema when Robbie says, “I didn’t know you liked the Delfonics.”
“Yep,” Cherry says. “They’re pretty good.”

Skittles Sued Over Alleged Use of Toxic Chemical in Candy Coloring
Skittles is facing a lawsuit over its alleged use of a toxic chemical.
A lawsuit filed Thursday in the Northern District of California alleges Skittles’ parent company, Mars Inc., has violated the state’s consumer protection laws by failing to remove titanium dioxide (TiO2) from the candy. Reuters reports the company announced it would phase out TiO2 coloring back in 2016, pledging to remove the chemical and other artificial coloring over the next five years; however, plaintiff Jenile Thames claims he purchased Skittles from a California gas station earlier this year, and found the candy still contained TiO2.
According to the proposed class-action lawsuit, Thames insists he wouldn’t have bought the candy had he know the toxin was still being used. TiO2 is reportedly used in everything from roofing materials and adhesives to paint and plastics. The complaint states the chemical will be banned in the European Union sometime next month, after safety regulators determined it could change DNA and result in organ damage.
Thames argues Mars Inc. has failed to inform consumers about the dangers of consuming the toxin.
Per the lawsuit: “Instead, Defendant relies on the ingredient list which is provided in minuscule print on the back of the Products, the reading of which is made even more challenging by the lack of contrast in color between the font and packaging, as set out below in a manner in which consumers would normally view the product in the store.”
The plaintiff is reportedly seeking unspecified damages for fraud and violations of consumer protection laws. Mars Inc. has not publicly commented on the suit.

She is an outstanding cover model who was featured the Vogue magazine cover, with her flowing natural hair flowing out, holding her baby. She unashamedly promoted Black motherhood while living for what she says and believes in.
Based on her life experiences in the fashion world, she was vocal during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, which had a great impact in the end as more brands came out and promised to appreciate and value Black lives more. She also pushed for the necessary change in the same during an interview with Reuters which explains why more Black talent is utilized through stylists, designers, makeup artists, editors, and executive roles.
As she advocates for Black models in the industry, Naomi wishes she’d done more sooner while working for huge brands such as Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Alaia, and Valentino. Despite rolling with the fashion industry’s big names, the Empire actor still experienced immense realities of discrimination and racism. Unfortunately, she has struggled with the issues throughout her life, for instance, stylists who have no experience working on Black skin, according to a 2016-interview with Teen Vogue. Sadly, models of color still experience the same issues today.

Georgia Monkeypox Cases Spikes, Nearly 100 Confirmed Cases
Monkeypox cases continue to spike in the state of Georgia. As a result, the Department of Public Health has expanded its distribution of a monkeypox vaccine to high-risk areas.
State health officials have confirmed 93 cases.
All cases are among men who are living in the metro Atlanta area, and the majority identify as men who have sex with men.
Despite that, experts still stress that anyone who’s been in close contact with someone who has contracted monkeypox can become infected too.
The United States has nearly 1,500 total confirmed monkeypox cases, Wabe.org reported.
States with the highest numbers of cases include New York, California, Illinois, and Georgia, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports.
The agency recommends vaccination for those who’ve been in close contact with someone with monkeypox or who are at high risk of exposure.
The Georgia Department of Public Health says it has received enough vaccine from the Biden administration to treat close to 1,500 individuals with Jynneos, which is a two-dose treatment administered 28 days apart.
DPH has also acknowledged the demand for monkeypox vaccine treatment outweighs the supply. As a result, the agency prioritizes the vaccine for individuals at high risk of infection in Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Clayton counties.
As more doses continue to arrive in Georgia, the department plans to launch an online scheduling platform for the vaccine. But the timing of when it will become available is unclear.
The Biden administration recently announced it is working with several commercial laboratories to provide nationwide monkeypox testing.
“The ability of commercial laboratories to test for monkeypox is an important pillar in our comprehensive strategy to combat this disease,” said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky. “This will not only increase testing capacity but also make it more convenient for providers and patients to access tests by using existing provider-to-laboratory networks.”
The CDC says that monkeypox spreads through close, skin-to-skin contact or through sharing bedding or other items someone with monkeypox has touched and causes a distinctive rash that includes painful lesions the incubation period is typically around 1-2 weeks. It’s treatable with existing vaccines.
DPH urges anyone who feels they may be eligible for a vaccine to contact a healthcare provider.
