#FASHIONFAB: Zendaya and Anne Hathaway for Bulgari

Bulgari has announced its 2022 brand campaign entitled Unexpected Wonders, showcasing some of the House’s signature icons alongside a roster of talented individuals. The stars of the campaign are Zendaya and Anne Hathaway, alongside BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and actress Shu Qi.

The new campaign was elegantly shot in Rome, a city never ceasing to amaze and serve as an infinite well of inspiration for Buglari, inviting onlookers to fully appreciate the joy of sourcing from the smallest, simple things. Ultimately, the ordinary can become extraordinary in the eyes of Bulgari.

Hathaway is captured wearing decadent High Jewellery creations alongside timeless pieces from the Serpenti range in addition to refined jewellery and watches from the Divas’ Dream collection. Additionally, Zendaya is shown wearing pieces of High Jewellery as works of art and expresses her personality through the B.zero1 and BB collections.

Alongside still life images lensed by Dan Jackson, Zendaya and Hathaway act as the protagonists of a brand film directed by Polo Sorrentino, an Academy Award winner. Showcasing small and large wonders, the pair explore a magical rain of flowers and sweeping views of majestic Rome, admiring the eternal city. Dancing in rooms of a sumptuous palazzo, clad in Buglari jewels, it is a celebration of freedom and sweet memories.

Chopra Jonas is seen wearing the High Jewellery and Serpenti collections alongside Lisa in the B.zero1 rings, of which she has been an ambassador for sometime now. The singer also shows her sophisticated side through wearing pendants from the Divas’ Dream collection, epitomising diversity and inclusion as a key pillar to the Bulgari brand.

Hathaway and Zendaya have had a busy few weeks alongside their Bulgari campaign, with Hathaway swanning around Cannes while promoting her new film and making waves for both her off duty and red carpet style choices. Similarly, Zendaya was recently named one of TIME Magazine’s Most Influential People of 2022.

#RHOA: Kandi Burruss upset Andy Cohen asked daughter Riley about her father

Kandi Burruss is upset Andy Cohen asked her daughter, Riley Burruss, about her relationship with her estranged father on "Watch What Happens Live."Bravo

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss was not happy Andy Cohen publicly asked her daughter about her relationship with her estranged father on “Watch What Happens Live” on Sunday.

“I didn’t say anything to him about it, but I didn’t really like when he brought up my daughter’s father to her on camera on ‘Live,'” Kandi said Friday on “The Slut Pig Podcast” in response to the last time she was “upset” with her Bravo boss.

The Grammy winner described feeling doubly disappointed by the inquiry because 19-year-old Riley had filled in as the bartender on Cohen’s show as a favor.

“She just so happened to be the bartender,” Kandi explained. “There was somebody else that was supposed to be the bartender, but they were late. [Riley] was there, so they were like, ‘Oh, you wanna be the bartender?’

“It wasn’t like she was prepped or anything, so it kind of caught her off guard,” the Xscape singer continued, adding that Riley’s relationship with her father, music producer Russell “Block” Spencer, is a “sensitive subject.”

It was midway through the “WWHL” episode when Cohen, 53, asked his substitute bartender, “Has your relationship with your dad improved at all?”

Riley replied, “I don’t remember the last time I spoke to him, so that answers that question.”

Kandi said on the podcast she felt her daughter “handled” the situation.

Before leaving Georgia to begin college in the Big Apple, Riley spoke to her mother about the child support she felt her dad owed her.

“OK, well, I feel like my father never really did anything. It’s time for him to at least provide something when I’m going away to college,” she said in the December 2020 premiere of Season 13.

Kandi then announced at the April 2021 reunion that she had won her case with Spencer, explaining, “They basically say he got to pay his back child support, so they’re giving him some time to give a lump sum now, and then he has to start paying the monthly back.”

#MusicNews: Ciara Says Her New Album Is Finished

Ciara is coming. It’s been three years since her last album, but Ciara is about to make her musical return. The singer reveals that she is done recording her eighth studio album.

“I’m working on my album, I’m actually finished with my album, which I’m excited about,” she told The Associated Press during a recent interview.

She has already shot a video for the first single, reportedly titled “Jump.” She was recently seen on set of the video with Dave Meyers, who directed the video for “Lose Control,” her Grammy-winning collaboration with Missy Elliott.

Back in May 2019, Ciara released her album Beauty Marks via her independent label Beauty Marks Entertainment. The project featured appearances from Kelly Rowland and Macklemore.

While fans await new music, Ciara is making her dreams come true. Russell Wilson’s wife landed the coveted cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition.

The power couple, who released their children’s book Why Not You? in March, continues to be a force. They recently purchased a $25 million home in Denver after the 33-year-old quarterback was traded by the Seattle Seahawks.

#HipHopNews: The Game Announces Release Date For 'Drillmatic' Album Executive Produced By Hit-Boy

The Game said he was coming out of rap retirement in March 2021 and now, he’s finally announced the release date. On Sunday (May 29), the “Hate It Or Love It” rapper announced Drillmatic – Mind Vs. Heart is arriving on June 17 with executive production from Hit-Boy.

“DRILLMATIC – Mind vs. Heart,” he wrote in the caption. “June 17th 2022. Executive Produced by: @hitboy.”

During The Game’s conversation with DX, he lamented the lack of substance in the majority of commercialized rap but was optimistic things were going to change, especially with his return.

“It fucking sucks there’s no real substance in music anymore, but we have to go through it until it’s fruitful again,” he said at the time. “Logic is working with Madlib. And of course, Kendrick and Cole, and then I’m coming back again. Shit’s coming.

“Kendrick and J. Cole can only sit quiet for so long, so you’ll get some good shit. And again, I like the fucking Polo Gs, the Pooh Shiestys, and of course Lil Baby, I love it. I’m in my car, I throw on Lil Baby, but everybody’s not Lil Baby. So again, we got to pick and choose what has substance.”

The 42-year-0ld MC has seen a resurgence of sorts in recent months, which included his “Eazy” collaboration with Kanye West. His confidence level is also sky high, and he’s ignited plenty of spirited debates over the last several weeks after declaring he’s a better rapper than Eminem. He initially made the claim in March while speaking to Drink Champs co-hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN and has continued pushing for a Verzuz with Slim Shady ever since.

Most recently, he told SHOWTIME Basketball, “When have you ever heard Eminem in a club? When have you ever heard it in the locker room? And I’m not taking away from that, I don’t hear Eminem in the streets. I just don’t. It’s not saying he can’t rap. The skillset is there. I’m just the better rapper. I just haven’t been given the light he’s been giving.”

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Debuts to $124 Million

Tom Cruise may have pulled off one of the most daring stunts of his career — getting audiences to go to the movies for something that doesn’t involve superheroes.

“Top Gun: Maverick” pulled in blockbuster ticket sales in its opening weekend, collecting $124 million from a record 4,732 North American cinemas. Paramount and Skydance’s all-American action adventure is expected to collect $151 million through Monday, defying expectations while also looking to set a new high-water mark for Memorial Day opening weekends. (Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” which launched with $153 million over the long weekend in 2007, currently holds the holiday record). That’s a testament to dazzling reviews, heaping doses of nostalgia and getting Cruise back in the cockpit to perform real aerial stunts as pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Left Out Kelly McGillis: Why the Original Star Was Never Asked to Return

At the international box office, the sequel to 1986’s “Top Gun” took flight with $124 million, an impressive sum since the movie isn’t playing in key territories, China and Russia. In total, “Top Gun: Maverick” has grossed $248 million worldwide.

“Top Gun: Maverick” is the highest-grossing domestic debut in Cruise’s 40-year career, and his first to surpass $100 million on opening weekend. “War of the Worlds,” which opened to $64 million in 2005, previously stood as Cruise’s biggest opening weekend.

It’s also one of the top pandemic-era openings after “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ($260 million), “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” ($187 million) and “The Batman” ($134 million).

Audiences over 40 years old, the people who were top of mind when Paramount greenlit another “Top Gun,” turned out in force (55% of ticket buyers), which is impressive because it’s the demographic that has been the most reluctant to return to theaters. Still, the dazzling stunts in “Maverick” managed to entice a significant percentage of millennial moviegoers — 45% of people were 35 or younger — who were not alive when “Top Gun” opened 36 years ago. The film’s positive word of mouth should be helpful in continuing to reach younger crowds.

David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research, called the film’s three-day figure “outstanding.”

“The source material remains strong, the execution is excellent, and Tom Cruise makes it work impeccably well,” he says.

Imax and 3D screens added to higher grosses for “Maverick,” with 22% of overall box office returns coming from premium formats. Imax alone is projected to contribute $21 million domestically and $32.5 million globally over the extended weekend.

“If you thought movies were dead, go see ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and then let me know what you think,” says Imax’s CEO Rich Gelfond. “This film heralds the return of the summer blockbuster and is a catalyst that will accelerate demand for moviegoing like an F-18 breaking the sound barrier. There’s no way you sit in a theatre, with a huge screen and chest-pounding speakers, and come away thinking there’s any other way you want to experience ‘Top Gun: Maverick.'”

“Top Gun: Maverick” continues a stellar box office streak for Paramount, marking the studio’s fifth movie this year to open in first place. Without the assistance of comic books or raging dinosaurs, the studio’s 2022 slate — also consisting of “Sonic the Hedgehog” ($182 million in North America), “The Lost City” ($102 million in North America), “Scream” ($81 million in North America) and “Jackass Forever” ($57 million in North America) — has resonated in theaters in a big way. It’s an impressive rebound since Paramount hardly released any movies during the pandemic, instead sending big titles like Chris Pratt’s “The Tomorrow War,” director Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7” and Eddie Murphy’s “Coming 2 America” to streaming services.

Despite countless delays (the “Top Gun” sequel was scheduled to open in the summer of 2020 until COVID-19 scrambled those plans), Cruise was adamant that “Maverick” not follow in the footsteps of those straight-to-streaming films. The two-year wait has already started to pay off since the film has been rapturously reviewed. It has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and a rare “A+” CinemaScore.

“I’m gratified we made this decision to hang on,” Paramount’s domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson says about keeping the film on the big screen. “This movie is going to have a huge run. It’s going to draw people to theaters who haven’t been in a long time.”

Joseph Kosinski directed the PG-13 “Top Gun: Maverick,” which picks up decades after the original and sees Maverick train a new group of cocky aviators for a crucial assignment. The cast includes Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly and Val Kilmer, who played Iceman in the first “Top Gun.”

“Top Gun: Maverick” also needs theaters to justify its hefty $170 million production budget, which does not include the tens of millions spent on promoting the movie to audiences worldwide. Those efforts included a splashy premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which culminated with eight fighter jets flying over the Croisette (the French government paid for those). Skydance Media co-produced and co-financed the film.

Only one film, Disney and 20th Century’s “The Bob’s Burgers Movie,” was brave enough to open against “Top Gun: Maverick.” For a movie that’s based on a long-running animated TV show, “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” served up an impressive $12.6 million from 3,425 venues, enough for third place on box office charts. The well-reviewed movie should finish the long Memorial Day weekend with $15 million.

“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” landed just behind “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” which dropped to No. 2 after three weeks atop domestic box office charts. Disney’s newest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment declined 50% to add $16.5 million from 3,805 cinemas in its fourth weekend of release. It’s expected to hit $21.1 million over the four-day frame. The superhero sequel, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, has generated $375 million in North America and a huge $868.7 million globally to date.

At No. 4, “Downton Abbey: A New Era” plunged 63% from its opening, collecting $5.9 million between Friday and Sunday. It’s estimated to earn $7.5 million from 3,830 theaters by Monday. After two weeks in theaters, the sequel to the big-screen continuation of the beloved British television show, has grossed $30 million in North America and $68.9 million worldwide. The follow-up film cost $40 million to produce, meaning the latest “Downton” adventure has ways to go before getting into the black.

Universal’s animated heist comedy “The Bad Guys” rounded out the top five with $4.6 million from 2,944 locations. By Monday, the family friendly film should rake in $6.1 million, which will bring its domestic tally to $82 million.

Without much on schedule until “Jurassic World: Dominion” on June 10, expect “Top Gun Maverick” to stay flying high over movie theater marquees.

‘Love & Marriage’ Stars Melody And Martell Holt Get Into Verbal & Physical Altercation With Co-Star Latisha Scott, Her Mother Ms. Wanda

Violence allegedly ensued at a recent event where Love & Marriage Huntsville cast members Melody Holt, Martell Holt, Latisha Scott, and her mother Ms Wanda attended.

The stars of the OWN network reality series took to social media to recount the physical altercation. Seperate pieces of video footage seemingly shows things popping off on entrepreneur Melody Holt’s instagram feed. Via live video, Melody checks in with fans at an event where her co-star Latisha Scott is present with her mother, Ms. Wanda, apparently selling food and spices.

After Melody tells viewers she’s logging off for a few minutes, she returns with full blown chaos erupting. The reality star appears back on the video in a car, explaining why ex-husband Martell Holt can be heard screaming in the background. She stated:

“Martell was making his points and they [Scott’s] would overtalk him, they think they so smart. They think they can say so much.”

After a passenger sitting with Melody states that LAMH star Latisha Scott is now “getting into” the fight, which is only heard at this point, Melody continues:Let me tell y’all this right here one thing I’m gone say for certain and fasho….When it comes to my kids I don’t’ care who nobody is I ain’t playing about a got dang on thang when it comes to that,”

As the arguing gets louder off camera she continues: “It sound like I need to get out here and handle a little mo’ business….Tell me somethin’, who jumps at somebody from the back? You come see me face to face.”

The TV personality is then heard frantically yelling her ex-husbands name repeatedly as things get physical. Before the live ends, Martell is seen tackling a suspected member of Latisha’s family. His family subsequently urges him to stop, reminding him his children are present.

Latisha’s mother Ms. Wanda gave her recount of the incident in her own live video. According to Ms. Wanda, Melody approached her heated after a comment was made that Melody didn’t like. Feeling “tried”, Ms. Wanda claims the two castmate engaged in a verbal argument before things allegedly turned physical.

After a viewer asked Ms. Wanda live who got hit during the incident, she laughs stating:

“She said she got scratches on her I guess her a** got hit.”

Alleging that Melody instigated the altercation, she continued:

“I don’t take people doing all that talking….I’m out there trying to sell my little food ya’ll….I treated her as a customer…. cause I love my brand. One thing you not gone do is tear my brand down. I’ll fight for my brand and that’s exactly what I did.”

According to reports, Ms. Wanda has repeatedly made disparaging statements about Melody prior to their recent situation. Tension rose between the two after Melody and her once good friend Latisha ended their friendship, with Melody allegedly calling her castmate an “enemy”.

Ms. Wanda quickly came to her daughters defense, trashing Melody’s character in the process. She stated:

“To call my daughter your enemy. Girl, bye. Name one friend you got, Mel. Just name one friend that you have. First of all, you don’t know what an enemy is cause you got two biggest enemies that I’ve never heard you call your enemies. And that’s your ex-husband and the woman on the side. Your sister wife. Those are your enemies, sweetie.”

While Melody, Martell, nor Latisha have commented publicly about the altercation, the event will likely play out on the next season of the series.

Boston Celtics survive wild Miami Heat comeback to win Game 7, advance to NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics held on for dear life against the relentless Miami Heat in Game 7 and survived.

Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart — the core of a team that had lost two previous chances together to win the Eastern Conference finals — combined for 74 points in a 100-96 victory to advance to the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Boston won for the third time in four games in Miami.

"The road that we took to get here, not a lot of people believed in us," Tatum said on the court after slaying Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Miami in successive rounds. "We took the toughest route, and it worked out."

Tatum won the NBA's first-ever Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP award after scoring 26 points in Sunday's win-or-go-home game. Brown and Smart each added 24. The trio also combined for 25 rebounds and 17 assists. Al Horford grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots in a dominant defensive effort.

"We stayed with it. We believed in each other. We made a commitment on the defensive end," Horford, who reached the Finals for the first time in 141 playoff games, said as he accepted his team's trophy. "That was the biggest thing, defending, and that was going to be our identity — and that's what's carried us this far."

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is scheduled for Thursday in San Francisco at 9 p.m. ET (ABC).

Jimmy Butler scored 35 points, playing all 48 minutes for the Heat in defeat. Bam Adebayo added 25 points. Miami's two bright stars shot 56% from the field. Their teammates had 36 points on 28% shooting.

Once the Celtics took a 98-85 lead with 3:35 remaining, the Heat rallied on an 11-0 run, and Butler saw a wide-open transition 3-point attempt that would have given them their first lead with 16 seconds left, but he fired it off the front rim. Smart connected on a pair of free throws on the other end to prevent a collapse.

The Celtics pushed the pace in the first quarter and played lockdown defense, taking a 32-17 advantage with the same execution that doused the Heat to start Game 4. Six Celtics scored in the first six minutes. They also scored 13 points in transition on one end and held Miami to 35% shooting from the field (1-7 3P). The 9-1 lead Boston established in the opening three minutes sustained the Celtics for the entire game.

As in Game 6, Butler kept Miami within striking distance whenever Boston threatened to blow the game open. He made all five of his shots and took 10 free throws in the second quarter. His 3-pointer with 1:26 left before halftime cut the deficit to 53-44 and gave him 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting. The rest of the Heat had 20 points on 8-of-26 shooting at the time. Four Kyle Lowry free throws on two light fouls gave Miami 19 attempts in the quarter and capped an 11-2 run to close the second. Boston clung to a 55-49 halftime lead.

The Celtics pushed the lead back to 14 midway through the third quarter — aided by a negated Max Strus 3-pointer for stepping out of bounds — but again the Heat responded. Boston missed consecutive layups, and Victor Oladipo punctuated a 7-0 run to bring Miami within 72-65. That gap remained at quarter's end. Boston had 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting in transition and was otherwise shooting 38% entering the fourth.

The Heat countered with four transition points of their own to start the final quarter — on an Adebayo dunk and another Butler layup — cutting the score to 82-79 and forcing a Celtics timeout. It was as close as Miami had been since they fell behind 4-0 in the opening 78 seconds. Boston had the final say, unleashing a 16-6 run over the next 7 1/2 minutes to put Miami just out of reach. Tatum scored seven of the 16 points.

The Heat did not go quietly. Their 11-0 run shocked the Celtics, who could not manufacture a basket in the final 4:28. Butler's decision to pull up from 3 in transition and not attack Horford for a potential game-tying layup will be debated in Miami for some time. The Heat did not see another chance to tie the game, and Strus missed two more 3-pointers in the final 7.6 seconds that would have wrenched Boston's guts again.

Instead, the Celtics, led by Tatum, their 24-year-old rising superstar, held on to earn the franchise's first Finals appearance since 2010, opposite Stephen Curry and the veteran three-time champion Warriors.

Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was arrested for two misdemeanors in Napa County Saturday night.

Police arrested Paul Pelosi,82, shortly before midnight and booked him for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol count of 0.08 or higher. Pelosi was later released on a $5,000 bond after spending a few hours at the local jail. A statement from Nancy Pelosi was not released and as reported by the Daily Mail, she’s currently in Rhode Island.

The couple owns a vineyard in Napa and a neighbor says Paul might have attended the Bottle Rocks festival this weekend.

‘It probably tracks more with the younger Paul. I wouldn’t be going to the kinds of fundraisers and parties they go to. I don’t like them very much or find them very interesting,’

Florida Fifth Grader Arrested For Mass Shooting Threat

A ten-year-old boy was arrested Saturday for threatening to carry out a mass shooting at his school.

Authorities say the boy sent the threatening text messages and arrested him after the Lee County Sheriff’s Office School Threat Enforcement team received a tip about the threats. Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement that his team didn’t hesitate to look into the threat. Investigators added that the boy is a student at Patriot Elementary School in Cape Coral.

“Right now is not the time to act like a little delinquent. It’s not funny. This child made a fake threat, and now he’s experiencing real consequences. This student’s behavior is sickening, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. Making sure our children are safe is paramount. We will have law and order in our schools! My team didn’t hesitate one second…NOT ONE SECOND, to investigate this threat,”

The boy was interviewed by detectives and said they discovered a probable cause for him the false threat.

People who responded to news of the arrest believe officers were too harsh in their approach. However, others argued that it was important to respond quickly due to the lack of apparent police response to the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Mo’Nique & DL Hughley in Super Nasty Feud Over Headlining Disagreement

Whoo lawd, do we have another hot one fo’ ya! Saturday night, Mo’Nique was a part of The Comedy Explosion featuring D.L. Hughley at the Fox Theater in Detroit. While on stage, Mo’ went all the way in on Hughley because of an alleged contract dispute. She claims that she was supposed to co-headline the event with Hughley, but it didn’t work out that way.

While on stage, Mo’Nique was seen on video telling the audience, “That’s what the motherf**king contract says… ‘Mo’Nique is to be the last motherf**king person on the got d*mn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for.”

Another clip showed Mo’Nique going at Hughley even further.  “What kind of real n*gga would ever attack a got d*mned black woman?” She said she feels sorry for his wife, then said, “N***a, your name is D.L., what the f**k does it stand for? How far are you bending over, n***a? On the DL.”

Mo can be also heard calling D.L. a “coon” and a “b***h n***a” in a few clips that have surfaced online. Oh yeah, D.L. has responded.

Here’s what D. L. Hughley had to say in response to Mo’Nique’s flaming him.

“All you have to do is check the order of names on the ticket stub from last night and you’ll see who’s confused,”  D.L. stated. “Against my better judgment, over the objections of my team and 4 other occasions where I said NO, I decided to take a chance and work with Monique. Oprah was the problem, Tyler Perry was the problem, Charlamagne was the problem, Steve Harvey was the problem, Lee Daniels was the problem, Netflix was the problem… Now it’s MY turn. At some point it can’t be everyone else, IT’S YOU!! Lesson learned. I didn’t have anything personal against Monique… People paid a lot of money to laugh, not here about your contract. Apparently, the role you played in PRECIOUS turned out to be an autobiography. I wonder who’s next…”

She explained she is healing emotionally from the emotional trauma, including homophobia, that she experienced while in a relationship with Janeek, a Jamaican hurdler.

“I was in a relationship with a Jamaican athlete that never cared about me from jump,” wrote Sha’Carri, 22, in a social media post.

Richardson added: “I was abused and stole from yet protected her from the judgment of her country & family while they dragged me. I had to deal with homophobic [sic] and so much more that I’m still healing from.”

The pair dated for at least a year before they broke up.

Back then, Janeek, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, took to Instagram to deny the allegations, which she termed “complete lies.”

“Don’t take mi bomboclaath kindness fi weakness,” Janeek wrote, speaking to Sha’Carri in her native patois. “Pay mi fi mi bomboclaath ting if yuh ago tek it, give mi a likkle portion.” Translation: “Pay me for my [expletive] thing if you’re going to take it, give me a small portion.”

However, she has now confirmed she indeed abused her.

“I was abusive once that there’s physical evidence of,” she said. “And we moved on, and even after then I was trying to move on from that, we still got nowhere. …Yeah, I was going through something – I was finding myself, that’s why I am coming to social media, you feel me?” she said. “So yeah, it’s a transformation; I’m going to find myself now. I may look different now.”

She also said it’s her mother who pushed her into being a track & field star, which now says she is done with. About falling in love again, Janeek said she is still working on finding herself, adding that if God sends her another woman, she won’t repeat the mistakes she made with her ex-girlfriend, Sha’Carri....

Jesse Tyler Ferguson Reveals He and Justin Mikita Are Expecting Second Baby: 'We're Expanding Our Family'

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita will soon be a family of four! The Modern Family actor, 46, revealed in a video shared on Instagram Friday that he and his husband are expecting another baby.

"There is a lot of really horrible stuff going on in the world right now, so Justin and I wanted to share a little bit of good news with you," Ferguson said, referencing the recent mass shootings.

"We are expanding our family," he continued.

The Take Me Out actor then hinted at his second child's due date, stating that he and Mikita's 22-month-old son, Beckett Mercer, will become a big brother "this fall."

Ferguson welcomed Beckett with Mikita, 36, on July 7, 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this month, Ferguson chatted with PEOPLE about his young son and how, like his father, he "loves to perform as well."

"Maybe he caught the bug early," Ferguson said at the Tony Awards nominees press event. "We're starting him with Sesame Street. We've shown him some videos of me performing. He's excited to see me on stage. It's exciting for him."

Ferguson previously opened up to PEOPLE about Beckett in March 2021 as well, where he said he treasures the little moments with his son the most.

"It's astonishing," he explained. "I can be in a bad mood and seeing him super excited, kicking and smiling, it just immediately lifts my spirits."

Added Ferguson: "It's so pure and sweet. And it gives me so much joy."

Wynonna Judd reflects on mom Naomi's death by suicide: 'This cannot be how the Judds story ends'

With Monday marking one month since Naomi Judd's death by suicide on April 30, her daughter and singing partner Wynonna Judd is reflecting on the loss and the lessons she learned as she navigates grief.

On Sunday, the country star, 57, took to Instagram to "check in" and reflect on losing her mother to mental illness. Naomi, 76, died just one day before the Judds were due to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and on the heels of a farewell tour which Wynonna is now carrying on solo. The cause of death was suicide, the music legend's younger daughter, actress Ashley Judd, later confirmed.

Noting that "there is so much happening in the world right now," Wynonna wrote that her life coach inspired to share the things she knows.

"I DO know, that the pain of losing Mom on 4/30 to suicide is so great, that I often feel like I’m not ever going to be able to fully accept and surrender to the truth that she left the way she did," the singer wrote. "This cannot be how the Judds story ends."

Judd, a mother of two whose daughter Grace has been in and out of prison in recent years on drug-related charges and parole violations, also opened up about the "personal healing work" she is undertaking as she welcomes her first grandchild and works to "break the cycle of addiction and family dysfunction." Judd's granddaughter Kaliyah was born on April 13 — just two weeks and she days before Naomi's death, she notes.

"I DO know, that in order to be a healthier grandparent to my firstborn grandchild Kaliyah ... to break the cycle of addiction & family dysfunction, that I must continue to show up for myself {first} and do the personal healing work," she wrote. "I know that it is a simple steps program, and those steps are not easy to take at times. Therefore, I’ve made a commitment to keep doing the 'next right thing,' and schedule weekly appointments so that I continue with the ongoing work, even when I have good days.

"I DO know, that I feel so helpless — right now especially," she continued, adding that she has found herself humming the Judds hit "Love Can Build a Bridge" to herself.

"I really DO know, that I’m not able to do this grieving thing all by myself, and that it’s OK to reach out for help," she wrote. "I will continue to fight for my faith, for my SELF, for my family, and I WILL continue to show up & sing."

Judd ended the note by writing, "thank you all for your love and support. Let’s check in more often."

Wynonna and Ashley paid tribute to their mother at the Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration, which aired on CMT earlier this month. "We've had counseling," big sister Wynonna revealed during the show, prompting Ashley to shout out their family therapist.

Meghan Markle’s ‘lucky’ dad, Thomas, leaves hospital 5 days after stroke

Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, was discharged from the hospital Saturday night, five days after suffering a stroke.

“I feel hugely grateful and know how lucky I am to be alive,” Thomas, 77, told the Daily Mail Sunday.

“I want to thank everyone, especially the wonderful doctors and nurses who saved my life. They are angels.”

The retired TV lighting director said he was “deeply moved” by the “loving messages” he received “from all over the world,” adding, “People have been so kind.”

The stroke evidently impacted Thomas’ speech, as the newspaper reported he shared the message by “writing on a whiteboard with a felt-tip pen.”

“I can’t speak right now, but I am working hard and will thank people properly when I can,” he further explained.

The Emmy winner noted that he faces an “an uphill battle” but is determined “to get well.”

The Daily Mail also spoke with Thomas’ son, Thomas Markle Jr., who shared that he had been visiting family in Oregon when he got the call about his dad’s stroke Monday night.

“I will be here for Dad and do whatever it takes to help him on his road to recovery. It’s been a terrible shock for everyone, but Dad is a strong man,” Thomas Jr., 55, said, adding that his father was already “making great progress” with the help of a speech therapist.

TMZ reported Tuesday that Thomas had been rushed from Mexico, where he lives, to a hospital in San Diego, Calif., with stroke-like symptoms.

His daughter Samantha Markle later told the Daily Mail, “He just needs some rest. It’s a travesty how much he’s been tortured and how much he’s had to go through thanks to my sister [Meghan]’s disregard the past few years. That is unforgivable.”

While Meghan, 40, has not publicly reacted to the news of her dad’s health scare, a source claimed to the Daily Mirror Saturday that she is “concerned” and “wants to know if there is any way to contact her father privately, without other family knowing about it or having to get involved.”

The Duchess of Sussex has long been estranged from her dad and half-siblings, and Thomas infamously missed his daughter’s May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry due to a reported heart surgery.

Former Dolphins Star Ricky Williams Takes Wife’s Last Name To Create Balance

Ex-NFL star Ricky Williams revealed that he legally took his wife’s last name in order to create more balance in his relationship.

The 1998 Heisman Trophy winner now goes by Errick Miron. Miron is his wife’s last name of five years, Linnea, and Errick is his birth name. Williams, 45, revealed the name change on The Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz.

“I’ve found that that’s been really powerful in creating ease, intimacy, and trust in my relationship,” Williams said of the change. His name was legally changed about a year and a half ago.

Miron said that his fame had overshadowed his wife within their circle of friends.

“People kind of forget that she exists, so there’s an imbalance in our relationship,” he explained. “One of the ideas that popped into my mind was I can take her last name.”

“I think it’s cool. It’s somewhere where we can both win.” Williams added.

The former Miami Dolphins linebacker revealed that Williams “isn’t even really” his last name. It turns out Williams was his grandmother’s husband’s last name, but the man was not his dad’s father.

“It’s one of those family secrets,” he said. “And if you go back far enough, its idea of it is a slave name, so I think of what is even the purpose of a last name. And I find more meaning in this last name than Williams.”

Although Ricky Williams is the name with which he rose to fame, the former footballer doesn’t think it will make that much of an impact.

“To me, this makes the story of Ricky Williams more interesting,” Williams said.

Tom Hanks Skirts Around Question About Polarizing ‘Elvis’ Accent at Cannes Press Conference

The “Elvis” team was on hand in Cannes for a little more conversation about Baz Luhrmann’s boisterous musical drama — but how Tom Hanks landed on his mysterious European-American accent as Colonel Tom Parker in the movie will remain a mystery for now.

The Oscar-winning actor received the first question from journalists at the Thursday press conference, and was asked how he prepared for his role as Parker and whether he researched his Dutch background and accent.

Hanks skirted around any discussion of his accent work, and instead spoke at length about learning more about Elvis’ notorious manager, who “was a delightful guy” that could light up every room he came into.

“Was he a cheap crook that played fast and loose? Yeah, when it comes down to that, but I worked that all out to everyone’s satisfaction,” said Hanks, “He was a man who brought joy to everything he did — along with a bit of larceny.”

“Elvis” marks Luhrmann’s first feature directorial effort since 2013’s “The Great Gatsby,” which also world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Butler stars in the title role opposite Hanks as Elvis’ infamous manager.

While critics have praised Butler’s tour de force performance, Hanks’ extremely thick and at times indecipherable accent for Parker, who was from the Netherlands, has been singled out as one of the movie’s weaker turns, and some have called Hanks’ prosthetic nose and padding to resemble the heavy-set Parker distracting.

“I’m not interested in playing a bad guy just for the sake of, ‘Before I kill you Mr. Bond would you like a tour of my installation?'” said Hanks to laughs from the assembled media. “That’s okay. I get it, but I think that’s for other stuff. What Baz tantalized me with right off the bat was, here’s a guy who saw the opportunity to manifest a once-in-a-lifetime talent into a cultural force. He sought that and knew that about Elvis the first time he saw Elvis’ effect on an audience…He realized that guy was forbidden fruit and you could make an awful lot of money off of forbidden fruit.

“The amount of ways that Parker cheated people out of nickels and dimes and dollars is extraordinary, and in my own way I’ve incorporated some of that in my own life,” joked Hanks. “As far as his background, I think no one knew the Colonel’s background. There are some extraordinary, tabloidy, melodramatic stories about why and how he left Holland. I’d like to think, yeah, he was running away from an aspect of his past and escaping his small town, and who among us wouldn’t jump at an opportunity to do that very thing?”

Hanks called Parker a “mercurial and brilliant man who at the same time lined his own pockets.”

Elsewhere, Luhrmann was asked why he made an Elvis Presley biopic through the prism of his relationship with his manager.

“I’m a great admirer when Shakespeare takes a historical figure but explores a larger idea,” said Luhrmann, who then referenced the 1984 movie “Amadeus.”

“Is it really about Mozart, or is it about the jealousy between Antonio Salieri and Mozart?” said Luhrmann. “I wanted to take Elvis’ life and really the respect fans have for that character and the expression in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. It’s about the show and the business. The snowmen and the showmen. That’s what the big idea really is. But on the way, I researched living in the south and being embraced by Graceland, and I learned about Elvis the person. When you can think one thing about someone and come out the other end [thinking something different].”

The “Moulin Rouge” and “Australia” director also spoke at length about getting “the best review I ever had” from Presley’s ex-wife Priscilla after she saw a cut of the film.

Luhrmann said he showed Priscilla a third or fourth cut of the film “much later than I would ever like to happen” but “no critique, no review, was ever going to mean more to us than the review of the person who was married to Elvis Presley. And I can’t tell you how long those two hours were when she went to see that movie.”

The director said he eventually got a message from Priscilla saying “I’m sorry it took so long, I had to gather myself.”

“She said, ‘I just wasn’t ready for that. Every breath of Austin, every move, the spirit of the person, the humanity, the man, not the icon, not the person that someone thinks they know because they made it up in their head. She said, ‘My husband was here today.'”

Butler, who had been driving to dinner with Luhrmann when he heard from Priscilla, said the message “brought tears to my eyes.”

“There hasn’t been a person I’ve never met that I’ve loved more than Elvis,” said Butler. “I lived with him for three years, so doing justice to his legacy and making the family proud, I could not be more overjoyed and I feel over the moon about that.”

The 30-year-old actor, who was cast in the role in 2019, also discussed how he became Elvis for the role, and learned how to balance a straight impersonation with imbuing soul into the character.

“It’s such a tricky thing because when I first started, I put these unrealistic expectations on myself that, somehow, if I worked hard enough I could make my face like his and my eyes like his and you couldn’t tell the difference,” he said.

“I realized at a certain point that that becomes like going to wax museum. What’s really important is that his soul comes out. It was finding the balance between getting as specific as I possibly could and that meant endless research… I would watch one clip of ‘Hound Dog,’ and watch one second of where his hand was and what it was doing and do that exactly in the mirror.

Added Butler: “The tricky thing was being there on the day and having it feel like it was happening for the first time. The reason he moved and spoke in that way, that meant finding his inner being. But then it’s like spinning plates because you want to go back to the specifics, so it was a constant back and forth.”

“Elvis” is one of the biggest titles to screen at Cannes, and its star-studded carpet at the Wednesday world premiere included Sharon Stone, Shakira, Kylie Minogue, Diplo, Jeremy O. Harris and Italian rock band Måneskin, which performed at an exclusive after-party.

Warner Bros. is opening “Elvis” in U.S. theaters on June 24. The film joined “Top Gun: Maverick” as the two Hollywood tentpoles to world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

In Variety’s largely favorable review of the movie, critic Owen Gleiberman said “Luhrmann has made a woefully imperfect but at times arresting drama that builds to something moving and true.”

Uvalde Tells President Biden To 'Do Something;' He Pledges 'We Will'

UVALDE, Texas (AP) — President Joe Biden grieved with the shattered community of Uvalde on Sunday, mourning privately for three hours with anguished families left behind when a gunman killed 19 schoolchildren and two teachers. Faced with chants of “do something” as he departed a church service, Biden pledged: “We will.”

At Robb Elementary School, Biden visited a memorial of 21 white crosses — one for each of those killed — and first lady Jill Biden added a bouquet of white flowers to those already placed in front of the school sign. The couple then viewed individual altars erected in memory of each student, the first lady touching the children’s photos as they moved along the row.

After visiting the memorial, Biden attended Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where several victims’ families are members, and one of the families was in attendance.

Speaking directly to the children in the congregation, Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller tried to assuage the fears of the youngsters, some appearing about the same age as the victims.

“You have seen the news, you have witnessed the tears of your parents, friends,” he said, encouraging them not to be afraid of life. “You are the best reminders to us that the lives of the little ones are important.”

As Biden departed the church to meet privately with family members, a crowd of about 100 people began chanting “do something.” Biden answered, “We will,” as he got into his car. It was not immediately clear what the president was suggesting.

Biden tweeted during the visit that he grieves, prays and stands with the people of Uvalde. “And we are committed to turning this pain into action,” he said.

The visit to Uvalde was Biden’s second trip in as many weeks to console a community in loss after a mass shooting. He traveled to Buffalo, New York, on May 17 to meet with victims’ families and condemn white supremacy after a shooter espousing the racist “replacement theory” killed 10 Black people at a supermarket.

Both shootings and their aftermath put a fresh spotlight on the nation’s entrenched divisions and its inability to forge consensus on actions to reduce gun violence.

“Evil came to that elementary school classroom in Texas, to that grocery store in New York, to far too many places where innocents have died,” Biden said Saturday in a commencement address at the University of Delaware. “We have to stand stronger. We must stand stronger. We cannot outlaw tragedy, I know, but we can make America safer.”

Biden later met with first responders before his return trip to his home in Delaware. It was not clear if the group included officers who were involved in the immediate response to the shooting.

Biden visited amid mounting scrutiny of the police response. Officials revealed Friday that students and teachers repeatedly begged 911 operators for help as a police commander told more than a dozen officers to wait in a hallway. Officials said the commander believed the suspect was barricaded inside an adjoining classroom and that there was no longer an active attack.

The revelation caused more grief and raised new questions about whether lives were lost because officers did not act faster to stop the gunman, who was ultimately killed by Border Patrol tactical officers.

The Justice Department announced Sunday that it will review the law enforcement response and make its findings public.

“It’s easy to point fingers right now,” said Ronnie Garza, a Uvalde County commissioner, on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” before adding, “Our community needs to focus on healing right now.”

Mckinzie Hinojosa, whose cousin Eliahana Torres was killed Tuesday, said she respected Biden’s decision to mourn with the people of Uvalde.

“It’s more than mourning,” she said. “We want change. We want action. It continues to be something that happens over and over and over. A mass shooting happens. It’s on the news. People cry. Then it’s gone. Nobody cares. And then it happens again. And again.”

“If there’s anything if I could tell Joe Biden, as it is, just to respect our community while he’s here, and I’m sure he will,” she added. “But we need change. We need to do something about it.”

Authorities have said the shooter legally purchased two guns not long before the school attack: an AR-style rifle on May 17 and a second rifle on May 20. He had just turned 18, permitting him to buy the weapons under federal law.

Hours after the shooting, Biden delivered an impassioned plea for additional gun control legislation, asking: “When in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? Why are we willing to live with this carnage? Why do we keep letting this happen?”

Over the years, Biden has been intimately involved in the gun control movement’s most notable successes, such as the 1994 assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004, and its most troubling disappointments, including the failure to pass new legislation after the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

As president, Biden has tried to address gun violence through executive orders. He faces few new options now, but executive action might be the best the president can do, given Washington’s sharp divisions on gun control legislation.

In Congress, a bipartisan group of senators talked over the weekend to see if they could reach even a modest compromise on gun safety legislation after a decade of mostly failed efforts.

Encouraging state “red flag” laws to keep guns away from those with mental health issues, and addressing school security and mental health resources were on the table, said Sen. Chris Murphy, who is leading the effort.

While there is nowhere near enough support from Republicans in Congress for broader gun safety proposals popular with the public, including a new assault weapons ban or universal background checks on gun purchases, Murphy, D-Conn., told ABC’s “This Week” that these other ideas are “not insignificant.”

The group will meet again this coming week under a 10-day deadline to strike a deal.

“There are more Republicans interested in talking about finding a path forward this time than I have ever seen since Sandy Hook,” said Murphy who represented the Newtown area as a congressman at the time of the Sandy Hook shooting. “And while, in the end, I may end up being heartbroken, I am at the table in a more significant way right now with Republicans and Democrats than ever before.”
