#RHOA: Kandi Burruss in a Black Sheer, Curve-Hugging Gown. HOT or NOT?
Kandi Burruss knows exactly how to turn heads, and for the Oscars, she wore an ensemble that did just that. On March 27, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Kandi & The Gang cast member dazzled on the red carpet for the Elton John AIDS Foundation's 30th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood in a gown that was nothing short of incredible.
For the occasion, Kandi (who was styled by Jeremy Haynes) donned a sheer black sequin-embellished gown. The sultry floor-length Yousef Al Jasmi number featured a curve-hugging silhouette, gorgeous sparkly accents, and a short feather-trim train. Kandi accessorized with long, dangly earrings and a huge emerald-green ring from House of Emmanuelle.
To complete her look, Kandi's hair was styled into glamorous waves with a center part, done by L.A. hairstylist Gina Everett. Makeup artist Laetitia Beyina gave her bold eyelashes, sparkling gold eyelids, and a coat of clear lip gloss.
Kandi took to Instagram on March 28 to show more glimpses at her look (which you can see here). "I can clean up nice when I need to!" she wrote on a series of snapshots.
RHOA alum Cynthia Bailey shared her love in the comments. "Wow!" she wrote, adding a heart-eye emoji. The Real Housewives of Potomac's Gizelle Bryant chimed in: "Pretty!!"

With Kanye West out at Coachella, the festival is rushing to fill the spot. As previously reported, The Weeknd is among the superstar names on the short list. The “Out of Time” singer, who headlined the festival in 2018, is gearing up for his own stadium tour this summer and Coachella would be a fitting kickoff.
Fresh off their four Grammy wins, Silk Sonic is also a contender for Sunday’s closing slot once occupied by Ye, reports Billboard. The duo of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are proven showmen with a residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live in Las Vegas that runs through late May.
Doja Cat is already on Sunday’s bill, but she could be bumped up to the headlining spot. Her live shows, including Lollapalooza in South America, have been receiving rave reviews, setting the stage for an epic Coachella performance.
According to HITS Daily Double, other names being tossed around include Tyler, the Creator, who is currently on his “Call Me If You Get Lost” tour, as well as Justin Bieber, who is also on tour. However, the “Peaches” singer is rumored to already be in talks to headline next year’s festival.
Another possibility is moving Swedish House Mafia to Sunday night and adding The Weeknd as a special guest. The two acts share management and previously collaborated on “Moth to a Flame.”
Travis Scott is even being thrown back in the mix, although he is considered a long shot. The Houston rapper was slated to headline the festival prior to the Astroworld tragedy.
After missing two years due to the pandemic, Coachella will return to Indio, Calif. on April 15-17 and April 22-24. Billie Eilish will headline on Friday, followed by Harry Styles on Saturday.

Pusha T and JAY-Z connect. As he gears up for his new album, King Push reunites with King Hov on their new collaboration, “Neck & Wrist.” The resplendent track finds two of hip-hop’s most revered MCs spitting “God level” raps over a Pharrell-produced beat.
“They put me on lists with these ni**as inexplicably / I put your mansion on my wall, are you shittin’ me? / I blew bird money / Y’all talking Twitter feed,” raps JAY-Z, who sold TIDAL to former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
He goes on to reference Biggie and their ill-fated supergroup on his verse. “They like, ‘If Big was alive, Hov wouldn’t be in this position’ / If Big would’ve survived, y’all would have got The Commission,” he adds before declaring, “Hov was gon’ always be Hov.”
This is the first collaboration between the two since 2016’s “Drug Dealers Anonymous.” They also worked together on 2010’s “So Appalled” for Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Jada Pinkett Smith ‘Wishes’ Will Smith Didn’t Slap Chris Rock at Oscars, They Agree He ‘Overreacted’
Jada Pinkett Smith is not “angry with” Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars — but she “wishes he didn’t” get physical with the comedian.
During the 94th annual Academy Awards, Rock, 57, made a joke about the Girls Trip star’s shaved head. After Pinkett Smith, 50, rolled her eyes at the comment, her husband, 53, approached the stage and slapped the Saturday Night Live alum.
“Will Smith just smacked the s—t out of me,” the South Carolina native said in censored footage that later circulated online. As he returned to his seat, the Suicide Squad star yelled back at Rock to “keep my wife’s name out your f—king mouth.” The Grown Ups star responded that he wouldn’t discuss Pinkett Smith again.
The incident came three months after the Scream 2 actress took to social media to address her hair loss as a result of alopecia. “Now at this point, I can only laugh. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day, look at this line right here,” she said about her scalp via Instagram in December 2021. “Now this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide, so I thought I’d just share it so y’all not asking any questions — but you know, mama’s going to put some rhinestones in there, and I’m going to make me a little crown.”
Earlier that year, Pinkett Smith gushed about her spouse’s support amid her decision to shave her head.
“He loves it,” the Maryland native said during a September 2021 episode of Red Table Talk. “It was just time. I was just ready for that kind of expression and release. I’m so glad I did it. It was such a beautiful experience and such a freedom. I feel more connected to myself and to the great diving in a very special way. I was just like, ‘I’m over it.’ It was that moment. According to the insider, the A Different World alum didn’t want Smith to get in an altercation to defend her. “She’s not one of these women that needs protecting. He didn’t need to do what he did, she didn’t need protecting. She’s not a wallflower,” the source shared. “She’s a strong woman, an opinionated woman and she can fight her own battles. But she will stand by him.”
The couple, who have been married since 1997, received support from their loved ones amid the scandal. “They protect their family. They’re all about their family and their kids. They’ve done everything to build this life for themselves,” the source continued about the pair, who share son Jaden, 23, and daughter Willow, 21, together. “They are very much protected in their own lives and do the absolute best they can to protect their loved ones.”
Since the incident, Smith issued an apology for the “unacceptable and inexcusable” actions that took place during the awards show. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness,” he wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, March 28.

FX’s ‘Snowfall’ to End After Six Seasons
Snowfall, which is arguably the most popular series to sweep TV screens since the 80s crack epidemic, is slated to end after six seasons.
FX announced on Tuesday, April 5, that the drama series, originally created by late filmmaker John Singleton, has been renewed for its sixth and final season.
The hit series stars Damson Idris as Franklin Saint, a drug kingpin navigating the crack cocaine epidemic of the 1980s in Los Angeles with his friends and family. Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX said,
“FX first partnered with legendary writer-director John Singleton and the rest of the creative team six years ago to pursue their vision for an ambitious, powerful drama about the explosion of the crack epidemic of the early 80s,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX. Today, as the fifth season of ‘Snowfall’ reaches new heights of acclaim and viewership, there is no question that this series has become an FX classic drama. We are thrilled to order a sixth season that will enable Dave Andron, Walter Mosley and the rest of the producers to bring ‘Snowfall’ to a climactic finale showcasing the brilliance of everyone involved, from the stellar cast led by Damson Idris, to the writers, directors, artists and crew.”
In the series’ fifth season, which is currently airing on FX, Franklin Saint and the gang have become rich and are close to living the life they imagined when they first got into the game—but the crack-related death of basketball star Len Bias’ prompts lawmakers and the LAPD to take action against them.
Damson Idris previously revealed that Snowfall is its most watched series across all its networks, bringing in nearly 5 million viewers per week. He said,
“Snowfall is officially FX networks most watched show and that is thanks to you guys, the fans. Nearly 5 million viewers a week. Not to mention yall that be bootlegging. I see you. Nonetheless, thank you to everyone for riding with us. It’s all for John Singleton.”
It’s been reported that Snowfall‘s Season 5 premiere garnered 4.3 million Total Viewers. It’s experienced a 13% increase in viewers compared to Season 4—which was FX’s most-watched series of 2021—and a 43% increase in viewers compared to Season 3.
Sister Act 3 will 'hopefully' begin production in 2022
The comedy franchise - which stars Whoopi Goldberg as singer Deloris Van Cartier who was forced to go undercover as a nun after witnessing a crime - will return for a third instalment with director Tim Federle noting that Whoopi is "really excited" to return to her iconic role and that the project is a "big priority" for Disney.
He said: "I hope we are starting this year, I think the 'Sister Act' franchise is a big priority to the studio scripts coming along and I think Whoopi is really excited."
The 'Better Nate than Ever' director went on to explain that development of the movie - which is set to have a script penned by Regina Y. Hicks and Karin Gist - is dependent on "scheduling" matters.
He told Collider: "Now it's just about schedules and chips falling where they may. [Scheduling] is literally everything. It's literally like the availability of a convent and the availability of a an EGOT!"
Tim - who recently directed the Disney+ movie 'Better Nate Than Ever', which sees a 13-year-old boy fantasise about a career in Broadway musicals and stars Lisa Kudrow as his actress aunt - went on to explain that in the future he would "love" to continue making 'Nate' movies and noted that he is constantly inspired by the work of Rob Marshall, who directed Oscar-winning movie musical 'Chicago.'
He said: "I would love to expand the 'Nate' cinematic universe. I will say you know Rob Marshall's kind of my hero when I was 12 years old Rob Marshall directed me in a production of 'Oliver!' in my hometown of Pittsburgh. And I have been quietly following in his footsteps and in his shadow for almost 30 years. And so what he's been able to do creating these beautiful visual musical event films is kind of my dream to."

Rihanna has joined Kanye West, Jay-Z and other entertainment stars on Forbes' World Billionaires list.
Rihanna landed at spot #1,729 on the 2022 list with a net worth of $1.7 billion. "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson also landed on the list for the first time this year. Jackson was listed at #1,929 on the list with a net worth of $1.5 billion.
Kim Kardashian landed at #1,645 on the Forbes' billionaires with a net worth of $1.8 billion while Kanye West came in at #1,513. The rapper is worth $2 billion, according to Forbes.
Steven Spielberg's $3.7 billion net worth landed him the #801 spot. Oprah Winfrey came in at #1,196 with a $2.6 billion net worth. Jay-Z followed at #2,076 with a $1.4 billion net worth. Tyler Perry barely squeezed in at #2,578 with a $1 billion net worth.
Jackson became a billionaire in November. The filmmaker sold his stake in Weta digital film effects shop to Unity Software for $975 million, according to Forbes.
Rihanna landed billionaire status in August. The "Work" singer, 34, who has a catalog of hits dating back to the early 2000s, is worth $1.7 billion, the magazine estimates. However, Rihanna's fortune isn't all due to her career in music. The superstar has her Fenty Beauty company to thank for a majority of her wealth. She launched it in 2017.
Rihanna's riches also make her the wealthiest female musician in the world, Forbes reports, and she's in the second spot, just behind Winfrey, as the richest female entertainer.
Forbes notes that an estimated $1.4 billion of Rihanna's wealth comes from her cosmetics line. The outlet reports she owns 50% of the business while she also has a stake in her lingerie company, Savage X Fenty, which has an estimated worth of $270 million.
The singer splits Fenty Beauty with LVMH, a luxury goods company in France that is run by Bernard Arnault, the world's second-richest person, according to the report. The performer's music and acting credits make up the rest of her fortune.
Paula Patton Responds to Backlash Over Fried Chicken Recipe
The actress put on her apron and showed off her mom's fried chicken recipe in an Instagram video on March 4. But after sharing her instructions, fans were up in arms, criticizing everything from the recipe itself to Paula's skills.
Turns out the actress can take the heat and will not get out of the kitchen. "It's all good because everybody's got their own way of making things," Paula said in an April 5 Instagram post, "And I'll take suggestions, I'll make a new kind of fried chicken, but I'm gonna always make my mom's chicken the way she did it. We put the seasoning in the oil and all that. It's just the way we do it."
Paula's oil seasoning was one of her critics' main issues. One user captioned a TikTok video posted to Twitter, "Paula Patton just ruined my day." In the TikTok, the user showcased disbelief over Paula's method of not only washing her chicken, but seasoning it while it cooked in the grease.
"In the grease?," the user exclaimed. "You're seasoning grease!"
Others took to Twitter to share their disapproval, with one user adding, "Paula Patton didnt wash her chicken properly, didnt season it, didnt season the flour, seasoned the oil and the chicken was still pink Me calling 911."
A fellow user also chimed in, writing, "Chicken cost too much for Paula Patton to be out here doing what she doing."
Meanwhile, some viewers thought Paula really cooked up a prank.

2022 Grammys criticized for labeling Virgil Abloh a “hip-hop fashion designer”
The Grammys has been catching heat for their categorization of legendary fashion icon Virgil Abloh as a “hip-hop fashion designer.”
The 2022 Grammys tried to pay homage to Abloh, who died in November at the age of 41 after a two-year battle with cancer. However, the language they used to do so was off-putting to many.
Fans of the fashion designer took issue with his portrayal during the memorandum portion of the Grammys. Twitter exploded with allegations of type-casting and trying to box in Alboh’s talents, claiming the label was “disrespectful.”
According to one Twitter user, it was “very disrespectful for the Grammys to call Virgil Abloh a “hip hop fashion designer”… the micro aggressive racism we see in fashion and entertainment today still baffles me.”
Abloh was a globally renowned fashion designer that founded his label Off-White in 2012. After the massive success of the brand, Abloh led partnerships with Nike, Ikea, and more. Virgil earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002. He went on to intern at Fendi with Kanye West in 2009. Virgil became the creative director of West’s DONDA creative agency in 2010. In March of 2017, he became the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection.
Project Maybach, Abloh’s collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, was revealed earlier this week after being announced last October. The luxury sedan boasts beige and black colors, 20-inch wheels, and an accompanying apparel line in collaboration with Off-White. He created numerous scholarships for young black creatives. In addition to being a prolific fashion designer, Abloh was an architect, director, DJ, husband, and father.
On Nov. 28, Abloh’s family confirmed his death to “a rare, aggressive form of cancer” called cardiac angiosarcoma. He underwent “numerous challenging treatments” all while continuing his work in fashion and art.
Magic Johnson Admits He ‘Wanted to Hit’ Howard Stern During Racist 1998 Interview
*Magic Johnson admits he wanted to physically assault shock jock Howard Stern during their disastrous 1998 interview.
“So many times, I wanted to say something and hit [Stern] at the same time — on air,” Johnson recalled in a Variety cover story. He added, “I was mad when they booked him. But there’s nothing you can do. When people look for ratings, this is what happens.”
The interview went down on Johnson’s former talk show “The Magic Hour,” during which Stern made several racist comments and sexist remarks to bandleader Sheila E., and told Johnson, “At least you had fun getting AIDS.”
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Stern pressed Johnson for details about his sex life, and when the ex-NBA star clarified that he had HIV, not AIDS — and that “nobody has fun” contracting the potentially deadly disease, Stern replied, “Believe me, brother, you did. It sounds like fun to me.”
Stern went on to offer Johnson some unsolicited advice.

Will Smith Reportedly Hiding Out in Dubai with Crown Prince
*According to Roger Friedman of Showbiz411, Will Smith is hiding out in foreign lands with a prince.
After the Oscars slap, Smith was flown out to Dubai by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aka “Fazza,” per the report.
Here’s more from Showbiz 411: The 39 year old Fazza, as he is known, is a good looking 39 year old entrepreneur, sports man, and businessman. He was married off to a cousin in 2019 and now has a set of twins. When the babies were born, Smith sent custom made gifts to them. Fazza posted a picture of Will with the gifts to his Instagram account. The children call Smith Uncle Will, according to reports.
It’s unclear whether Jada Pinkett Smith is with her hubby in the Middle East.
Smith’s previously told Esquire’s MidEast website about his visits to Dubai, saying: “I came to Dubai about 15 years ago. I was crossing over to Mumbai. It was the first time that the Emirates Airline had the nonstop from Los Angeles. And so I stayed here a couple days, and it was absolutely amazing to me what the dream of Dubai was.”

Palm Springs To Provide Transgender Residents With Monthly Income Through New Initiative
Palm Springs will provide transgender and non-binary residents with a guaranteed income program in an effort to prevent homelessness and poverty within the community.
Last month, the city council for Palm Springs passed a bill that gave $200,000 to DAP Health and Queer Works – two organizations that work to fight disparities that affect the LGBTQIA+ community – to create a program dedicated to serving LGBTQIA+ residents in the city. The state-funded initiative was led by the city’s first transgender mayor Lisa Middleton.
The two organizations will provide 20 residents who identify as trans or non-binary with between $600 and $900 a month.
“Such a program to help people in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer community is unbelievably part of the values of Palm Springs, hands down,” Councilman Dennis Woods said, according to the news outlet Patch
Kourtney Kardashian Confirms Vegas Wedding with Travis Barker Was Just for Practice: “Practice Makes Perfect”
Kourtney Kardashian is more Kardashian than ever because her Vegas wedding night wasn’t actually a wedding. It was just “practice.”
She confirmed the news in an Instagram post Wednesday. Her caption reads, “Found these in my camera roll. Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect.”
The Poosh founder confirmed that she and fiancée Travis Barker actually didn’t get married, and there wasn’t a license.
Reports circulated Tuesday morning that the two tied the knot in Las Vegas, where the 2022 Grammys was hosted, but it was all just practice. Surely Kourtney will throw a lavish modern wedding since this is the first time she says “I do” to anyone.
A source tells E! News that the pair “always joked about running away and just doing it at a chapel in Vegas and not telling anyone.” Kourtney also has been very chill about the details of the planning process. Though they would like to marry this year, they have babies on the brain.

4-Year-Old Girl Accidentally Shot, Killed by 2-Year-Old Brother at Pennsylvania Gas Station
A four-year-old girl is dead after being shot by her younger brother in Chester, Pennsylvania.
The shooting, per a regional report from 6 ABC, took place while the siblings—a four-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother—were inside a parked car alone at a gas station.
In a statement shared Tuesday, the City of Chester Police Department said that officers had first been notified of a shooting having occurred at the Eagle Save Mart gas station. The victim, later determined to be a four-year-old girl, was “immediately” taken to a nearby hospital and ultimately pronounced as deceased.
“Everybody in the community of Chester and Delaware County, myself included, all of us are just heartbroken to think of what happened to this poor child,” Delaware County District Attorney, Jack Stollsteimer, later told reporters during a press conference.
As noted in other reports, the shooting was apparently an accident. The exact circumstances, however, are still to be determined.
“Why was a gun available? Those kinds of questions still need to be answered,” Stollsteimer said Tuesday.
Complex has reached out to the Delaware County District Attorney’s office, as well as to the City of Chester Police Department, for additional comment.
Also unclear in initial reports on the shooting were the type of firearm that was discharged, as well as how the children were able to be in possession of it. The gun in question, however, has been said by police to have been legally owned. At the time of this writing, no charges had been announced in connection with the shooting.
Biden Administration to Extend Pause of Student Loan Repayments Until End of August
Student Loan debt hasn’t been cancelled just yet, but the Biden Administration is giving college graduates a break through the summer.
via Complex: The White House is expected to keep federal student loan payments paused through Aug. 31, an administration official told the Associated Press.
The decision impacts 43 million Americans who owe a projected $1.6 trillion in federal student debt, per data from the Education Department. It comes as repayments were expected to resume on May 1, and as Democrats in Congress are requesting that the Biden administration gives Americans more time to prepare for the payments resuming. Interest rates are expected to remain at 0% until Aug. 31, as well.
Some politicians, like Sen. Patty Murray, argue that the government’s current repayment process is “ruining lives and holding people back,” and that Americans need some extra time.
“Borrowers are struggling with rising costs, struggling to get their feet back under them after public health and economic crises, and struggling with a broken student loan system — and all this is felt especially hard by borrowers of color,” Murray said.
As for if debt forgiveness is on the horizon from the Biden White House, lawmakers like Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren have pushed the president to cancel $50,000 per student loan recipient. Biden asked the Education and Justice departments last year to review the legalities of widespread forgiveness, and previously explained that he supports $10,000 of forgiveness but put the responsibility on congress to do so.
They need to go ahead and just cancel that debt.
