#MAGFAB: Four Vogue Greece Covers Celebrate 14 Body-Loving Women

Vogue Greece March 2022 honors 14 women who have made peace with their bodies.

The March 2022 issue of Vogue Greece joins a global Vogue project that unites all editions of Vogue, asking the essential question:  In the age of the perfect image, how easy is it to truly love our "unfiltered" body?

Photographer Thanassis Krikis [IG] photographs 14 women “with real bodies” [we hope so!] and shares them with no retouching.  Nicholas Georgiou provides creative direction and George Karapetis acts as stylist on the fashion story, with input from editor-in-chief Thaleia Karafyllidou.

The 14 women have different proportions, age, skin color, and different life stories. Each woman has experienced a battle with her body and after finally learning to love themselves came out stronger. I believe the research also says the become healthier in the aggregate when the stopped waiting for the acceptance of others.

Vogue Greece March 2022 features 14 body-loving women who share their stories on making peace with themselves.

We hope that Vogue will soon tackle the next “elephant in the room”. The beloved animal, unfortunately assigned to America’s Republican party, is the role of religion and patriarchy in this discussion about women’s bodies.

We do not separate a discussion about body acceptance from a concurrent discussion of sexuality and the right of men to control women’s bodies in every aspect.  It’s our position that a woman must make peace with her religion and/or spiritual beliefs [if they exist] as well as sexism to truly free herself from body-loathing.

Kanye West is deeply disturbed over his inability to now control Kim Kardashian’s sexuality and her body, because he absolutely believes it is his right as a man and as KK’s husband.  Ye says that God spoke to him in the shower and told him to shut own Planned Parenthood, but West extends his rights of control even beyond abortion and contraception.

We have multiple Trump candidates running for Congressional office who want to eliminate birth control in America. And Kanye West is in court trying to stop Kim Kardashian from being declared legally single. This issues are all deeply connected — which probably explains why we’ve made so little progress in helping women learn to love our bodies.

It’s not as if Vogue has never waded into these waters. No top model understands the drive of right-wing politicians and their voters to end not only abortion rights but hard-fought rights in the LGBTIQA+ community better than Anja Rubik.

The supermodel bared her body and issued a blistering attack against the Polish government in the December 2020 issues of most global Vogues.

#NewMusic from Leela James Sings ‘Trying To Get By’

One of the best R&B/soul albums of 2021 was Leela James‘ See Me. Not only was the set one of last year’s top drops, but it is one of Leela’s best to date. If you still have the album in heavy rotation since its July release, then you already know. But in case you need a reminder of how fire this project is, Leela is here with a new music video for the track “Trying To Get By.”

On “Trying To Get By,” James brings us modern movement music. She sings directly to Black people to let us know that she understands the struggle and how hard it is to find peace in the midst of chaos. She also encourages us to keep holding on and to keep moving on no matter what.

WATCH HERE

These themes are carried over into the video. Director Javeon LaRay mixes archival clips of Black people from various walks of life and footage of leaders such as Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Huey P. Newton with current videos of protests and marches. In between those scenes, we get glimpses of Leela dressed in all black – from her leather trench coat to her combat boots. She’s by herself outside just walking around and keeping her head to the sky while reminding everyone watching her to do the same.

Leela was intentional about releasing this visual during Black History Month. She shared on Instagram, “It was only right to drop this during this month ✊🏾.” With everything going on at home and abroad right now, this video is quite timely. Watch Leela James’ “Trying To Get By” and do your best to keep on keeping on.

Wendy Williams’ Publicist Calls Out Former Rep Over His Remarks About Talk Show Host

Wendy Williams and her Publicist, Shawn Zanotti, are not too fond of the recent statements made by her former rep, Howard Bragman. In fact, Zanotti says Bragmans comments were ‘not in the best interest of Wendy’.

As previously reported, “The Wendy Williams Show” is coming to an indefinite end soon, and Sherri Shepherd, 54, would replace that time slot with her own talk show. Immediately after that was announced, Howard Bragman, 65, who was said to be the rep for Wendy Williams, 57, released a statement claiming that the popular TV personality was understanding about the changes taking place surrounding her show. He said,

“It’s been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time. She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television — you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s the Maybe Wendy Show.”

Wendy later spoke out and revealed that she never gave anyone permission to speak on her behalf. In a Instagram story post, she wrote,

“Mr. Bragman, although I appreciate your concerns and respect you immensely, I have not authorized you to make any statements on my behalf regarding my current status with Debmar Mercury. Again, thanks for your continuing concern and support.”

Now, the publicist for the talk show host is calling out Bragman for his remarks, describing them as “shade directed towards Wendy,” who is said to be “going through a very human experience.” Shawn Zanotti wrote,

“The statement that was put out by the guy Howard was not in the best interest of Wendy. You wouldn’t refer to your client’s show as the ‘Maybe Wendy Show,’ which was shade directed towards Wendy… To further go on to question the validity of her verified IG page, is even more proof that this was not in the best interest of Wendy — knowing he hasn’t spoken to her. His social media post response is additional evidence that he hasn’t had any recent communication with her by saying, ‘so WHEN my old friend Wendy FaceTimes me personally.’ It comes off as a bullying tactic and a forced response just to be a part of the conversation which shows it’s more about him than about Wendy.”

In her statement, Zanotti also revealed that amidst all the behind the scenes chaos, Wendy Williams is focusing on her health and well being. Zanotti called on the public to “uplift” Williams amid her “public shaming.”

“The focus right now should not be on the public shaming of Wendy Williams or the production company making a decision from ‘a business point of view.. It should be on uplifting her while she is going through a very human experience. So, please send prayers and positivity to Wendy and her legal team who have bigger fish to fry!”

Man charged in connection with Alpo Martinez's fatal shooting

The murder suspect allegedly behind the shooting death of drug lord Alberto “Alpo” Martinez has been charged. As reported by the New York Daily News, Shakeem Parker was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon after detectives “gathered information” leading them to believe he was the gunman.

Martinez, the inspiration behind Cam’ron’s Paid in Full character, was shot and killed on Halloween while in the driver seat of a Dodge Ram. As REVOLT previously reported, he was struck by bullets from a moving vehicle on W. 147th St. near Frederick Douglass Blvd. in Harlem, and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

In the wake of his death, Mekhi Phifer — who played a fictionalized version of Rich Porter, Martinez’s partner, on Paid in Full — reflected on his experience capturing the drug lords and their notorious drug empire in the movie.

“We had an obligation to do these brothers justice! I’m just happy we were able to have the honor of doing so…,” he said. “I grew up knowing the legend of these Kats and had to represent the humanity in the choices they made. Hopefully, lessons were learned and not glorified in any way. Hopefully, we were able to capture their motivation and mannerisms. RIP to both these brothers. Much love!”

Dame Dash also revealed that Martinez’s passing inspired the direction for the Paid in Full sequel. “Paid in Full is a reflection of everything I’ve learned, and I am really going to see it through now that there’s an ending,” Dash said. “So this is going to dramatically change…I was stuck on how to really approach it, and this is actually giving me more clarity.”

Parker is already being housed at the Otis Bantum Correctional Center on Rikers Island with a slew of charges, including second-degree murder and counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He is set to appear in court next Monday (3/7).

Quincy Brown says he was grabbed, dragged by JetBlue pilot

Quincy Brown says he was the victim of an assault at the hand of a JetBlue pilot. On Monday (Feb. 28), the “Star” actor took to Instagram to inform the airline and fans of the incident he endured after he requested to board a plane with a carry-on holding his personal items.

“I’m gonna keep this thing short…,” Brown began. “The pilot put his hands on me.”

According to the 30-year-old model, his assistant was denied from bringing the star’s bag onto the plane because it was allegedly too big. “My bag fits in my pocket damn near,” he explained. “They claimed it didn’t fit. My assistant had my bag. I was on the plane already. They wouldn’t let him bring it on. He gets on the plane, I let him know I need my bag. That’s not a bag to check. It has my [anxiety] medication, it has my personal, it has my jewelry, literally everything that has my personal belongings. Nothing is in my pocket.”

Brown said the pilot then approached him with his bag, demanded he get his “fucking diabetic medication out” and declared that it wouldn’t be permitted on the plane. When he argued against the order, the actor was grabbed and dragged onto the jet bridge.

“That’s when I got my phone out, I didn’t knock him out, and everything was just uncalled for,” Brown said of the incident. “I ain’t never had no pilot put no hands on me. I don’t know what you went through before that. I don’t care, but the severity of me just trying to get my bag for personal belongings became a situation to where a pilot put his hands on me.”

In the video, Brown shows footage of him venting after the incident. He informed fans that Todd Papesh was the captain behind his assault.

Online court records show that a settlement was filed on February 24 and a hearing on the matter is scheduled for March 16.

LaKeith Stanfield Gives ‘No Fux’ As He Shocks Fans With Lace Legs In Elegant & Sexy New Photo

LaKeith Stanfield — who’s notably starred in ‘Judas and the Black Messiah,’ ‘Get Out,’ ‘The Harder They Fall,’ and more — has shocked his fans after posting a new elegant and sexy photo, posing in lace stockings. He simply fires back, “No Fux.” The photo arrives as part of a series in his cover debut with ‘Replica Man Magazine.’

On Monday (Feb. 28), Stanfield uploaded a new photo to his Instagram with a caption that solely included a red rose emoji. In the photo, the award-winning actor is seen sitting next to a dark wood dresser, with one arm resting on it and the other on his lap as he crosses his legs and looks to his right.

The dim-lit photo surely comes off as an elegant and fashionable piece as he’s seen wearing a black du-rag on his head, with a black u-neck shirt (chest hair poppin’!) and a black suit jacket/blazer on top. For pants, it appears he’s wearing a matching short set, but fans couldn’t help but notice his oiled up legs rocking black lace stockings with shiny leather shoes to match. Despite social users questioning his outfit choice, Stanfield simply wrote in the comment section, “No Fux.”

“I’m extremely happy! 2021 was the most transformative year of my life,” the “Bachelor” Season 23 lead told People Monday. “Starting 2022 off with my best friend, teammate and now fiancé is something I never thought was going to be possible.”

They then made their relationship Instagram-official in December.

Underwood revealed during a “Good Morning America” interview in April 2021 that he had struggled with his sexuality so much that he once contemplated suicide.

“There was a moment in LA that I woke up, and I didn’t think I was going to wake up. I didn’t have the intentions of waking up,” he admitted. “I think that for me was my wake-up call.”

The reality star documented his coming-out journey in his Netflix docuseries, “Coming Out Colton,” in which he shared that he had tried to suppress his homosexuality with medication.

Underwood was last romantically linked to his “Bachelor” winner, Cassie Randolph, from whom he split in May 2020. Randolph, 26, subsequently took out a restraining order against him, claiming he had been tracking and harassing her, but she dropped it one month later.

Underwood’s rep did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

Teyana Taylor Deals with Rumors of Husband (Iman Shumpert) Cheating and Her on Drugs

*Teyana Taylor is deadening all speculations about infidelity in her marriage and says she doesn’t do drugs.

After fans assumed that a viral TikTok video – allegedly detailing the infidelities of a reality tv family with two daughters and a husband (Iman Shumpert) featured on Dancing With The Stars – was based on Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert, Teyana responded denying anything from the story was related to her.

Earlier this week, a Tik Tok account that reenacts “unconfirmed stories and parodies”, posted a story allegedly submitted by an anonymous celebrity assistant – that extremely resembles recent life situations of R&B singer Teyana Taylor. After social media users quickly put two and two together and put Teyana’s comments in “shambles”, the 31-year-old singer/actress addressed the story denying all allegations and offering sensible rebuttals as to why the alleged story is fabricated.

“The person who sent in this CAP a– TikTok story is a fool, the person who “re-enacted” this CAP a– story is a fool (she better have her court coin ready) but the people who believed the CAP a– story are the biggest fools smh.”

Teyana goes on to state that anyone who has worked for her since the alleged incident took place still works for her and are all family members. She also state’s that she doesn’t do drugs and there would be no way she would have been well enough to play her next show in Atlanta 2 days later if she had indeed overdosed, referencing events on HBO’s hit show Euphoria.

She also says that she’d k*ll her basketball playing husband herself before she let anyone push her to overdose stating:

“NOBODY AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOBODY CAN MAKE PETUNIA OVERDOSE ON A DAMN THING. I’d k*ll @imanshumpert fine ass, put him in a nice suit and bury him my damn self before I EVER let him or ANYBODY to push me to do drugs or take myself out.”

‘Tinder Swindler’ Claimed to Be a Diamond Magnate’s Heir. Now the Real Family Is Suing Him

Simon Leviev, the so-called “Tinder Swindler,” is being sued by the diamond-rich family he claimed to be a part of as he allegedly bilked millions from young women he met on the dating app.

The lawsuit was filed in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court in Israel on behalf of the Leviev family, whose patriarch, Lev Leviev, is a billionaire diamond magnate. The website for the Leviev family’s lawyer, Guy Ophir, confirmed the suit had been filed.

While Ophir did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment, a portion of the lawsuit quoted on his firm’s website said of Simon Leviev: “He is a crook and deceiver who changed his name for criminal purposes, while identifying that he is a member of the Leviev family and taking the reputation of the complainants” (from Hebrew, via Google Translate).

A rep for Simon Leviev did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.

Ophir added in a statement that the lawsuit was just the first “in a series of legal proceedings that the Leviev family has instructed me to take against this crook and his accomplices.” He continued, “In the coming days a monetary claim will also be filed against the crook and anyone who has been involved in his past and present actions. Similarly, a lawsuit will be filed against the sites that chose to join the crook and allow him to sell paid greetings while exploiting his victims. The Leviev family intends to donate the money it obtains to its other victims” (from Hebrew, via Google Translate).

Simon Leviev — whose story was recently documented in the Netflix true-crime doc, The Tinder Swindler — was born Shimon Yehuda Hayut, and he fled Israel after being charged in 2011 with theft, forgery, and fraud. He spent nearly a decade traipsing around Europe and posing online as an heir to the Leviev diamond fortune, while convincing women to give him money he promised he would pay back, but never did.

While he was convicted of defrauding three women in Finland in 2015 and served two years in prison, upon his release he appeared to pick up right where he started. Following a 2019 exposé in the Norwegian newspaper, VG, Leviev was arrested in Greece for using a forged passport; while he was sentenced to 15 months in prison in Israel, he was released after just five, reportedly for time served and good behavior. In a recent interview with Inside Edition, Leviev died the allegations against him and claimed, “I was just a single guy that wanted to meet some girls on Tinder.”

Palace Sports and Entertainment Martie Maguire, Natalie Maines, and Emily Strayer are The Chicks.

United States governors are calling for all state-run liquor stores to no longer sell Russian vodka.

To stand in solidarity with Ukraine to protest the invasion of Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Canada and the U.S. are telling liquor stores to stop the sale of Russian vodka. From Las Vegas to Pennsylvania, stores around the country are dropping their Russian liquor vendors, and some stores are swapping them out for Ukrainian liquor companies.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox issued an executive order on Saturday that ordered the state’s alcoholic beverage control department to remove “remove all Russian-produced and Russian-branded products from its shelves immediately.” Ohio made the same move on Saturday, saying no state-run liquor store is to allow the purchase or sale of Russian Standard vodka, which is “the only overseas, Russian-owned distillery with vodka sold in Ohio.”

In Las Vegas, a bar named Evel Pie announced it now sells shots of Ukrainian liquor, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the assistance of Ukraine. “Our focus first and foremost is helping the Ukrainian people,” managing partner Branden Powers told the Las Vegas Sun, Yahoo! News reports.

Locations in Kansas, Pennsylvania and more have also joined in on the protest of Russian vodka. These moves come after Russian invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24. Since then, Biden, along with other NATO allies, have enacted sanctions against Russia.
