#MAGFAB: Ava DuVernay Looks FAB fot InStyle’s Magazine’s March Issue

Ava DuVernay is on InStyle’s March issue subcover. The universally celebrated director who frames her actors with an inquiring and empathetic eye has built a formidable career training her eye on others. Now, Ava DuVernay celebrates the beauty of becoming herself.

On her greatest motivator: “It’s magic that I can conjure emotion through my work. The design and the writing and the direction can make you feel something. I pick what I want to get out of the scene, and through music, color, performance, and words, I’m able to manufacture and change how you think. I can be in your head, and I love it. I’m always looking at, ‘How can I manufacture emotion here in its highest form?’ Whether it’s making you cry with ‘When They See Us’ or making you think and be upset with ’13th’ or making you feel dazzled with ‘A Wrinkle in Time,’ I’m always trying to drive that home.”

On what she still has to learn: “Oh, goodness. So much. I’ve gotten a bit stagnant in my relationships with people, the way that I’ve organized my life. We need to keep meeting new people, challenging relationships, moving out of relationships that don’t serve us anymore. There’s that line people say, ‘No new friends.’ But there can be. I can’t mature in my work if I don’t open my life a bit more. I didn’t have kids by choice, and I’m not married by choice. I was able to embrace my career later in life, in my 30s. So I’m going to do what feels good to me, and I’m going to have fun.”

On social media: “I think the beauty of those platforms is that they give everyone a voice. During the [2020 presidential] election, I was in a heightened state of emotion. After that, I felt burned out on social. But it comes in spurts. I find myself wanting to be quiet more than I want to talk. Just the other day I tweeted, ‘One of my favorite things about my job is requests.’ I get requests like a DJ, people requesting that I make films every day. I’ve driven down the street with people calling out to me, ‘Hey, I love Selma. You need to make something on such and such.’ I love that people think I can make whatever they want to see.”

The interview will be featured in InStyle’s March issue hitting newsstands on February 11th.

#HipHopNews: Warren G Plots 'Comeback' As His Step-Brother Dr. Dre Hits Super Bowl Stage

Regulators, mount up! Warren G is forever engrained in Hip Hop culture, primarily for the unforgettable 1994 single “Regulate” featuring the late Nate Dogg.

Taken from the Long Beach native’s 3x-platinum debut Regulate… G Funk Era, the track spent 18 weeks in the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 2. “This DJ,” also from the same album, peaked at No. 2 while both songs earned a Grammy Award nomination.

Warren G has released five subsequent studio albums, the latest being 2009’s The G Files. While his musical output has undeniably slowed over the years, the 51-year-old rapper is now ready to change that. On Friday (February 4), he hopped in HipHopDX‘s comment section to comment on a Slim Thug story and wound up confirming his next single is on the way.

After someone gave Warren G his props, he replied, “much love appreciate it g. 2.13.22 the come back coming.”

The single arrives on the same day Warren G’s step-brother Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige hit the Super Bowl LVI stage for the Pepsi halftime show. Both Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have played integral roles in Warren G’s career.

In an October 2021 interview with The Breakfast Club, Snoop Dogg revealed he actually helped pen Regulate…G-Funk Era in an effort to keep him safe from former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight.

“Like I said, my pen had something to do with that,” Snoop said. “We was trying to protect the homie from Suge Knight at the time, Suge was taking everything so we wanted to make sure Warren G had a dope record without him being able to get it, so we silently, me and Kurupt and a few others, went to work for Warren G to make sure that his record could be what it was.”

Snoop Dogg added he and his West Coast rap brethren encouraged Warren G to sign with Def Jam Recordings instead, adding, “We all wanted to be on Def Jam. You gotta understand, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, LL Cool J, EPMD, you understand what I’m saying? This a foundation to Hip Hop for us.”

Warren G teased the forthcoming single in another Instagram post on Saturday (February 5), which shows him masked up in the studio with several live musicians.

“Behind the scenes it’s that time a day!” he wrote in the caption. “2.13.22 #regulator WarrenGfunkera #independent Different From The Rest @bombbass1014.”

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Jackass Forever’ Laughs Its Way To No. 1 At Box Office

Not even a global pandemic or a 12-year hiatus could stop the Jackass guys at the box office. “Jackass Forever,” the fourth movie in the anarchic series earned $23.5 million in ticket sales in its first weekend in theaters, according to studio estimates Sunday.

It not only exceeded expectations but also easily bested its other main competitors, the big budget sci-fi spectacle “Moonfall” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which has 6 of its 8 weeks in theaters at No. 1.

“ Jackass Forever ” brings back Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius and Wee Man for another round of pranks, stunts and injuries and has become the best-reviewed in the series. Playing on 3,604 screens in North America, “Jackass Forever” is on the lower end of “Jackass” openings, above only the first, which made $22.8 million in its opening weekend in 2002. The biggest opening of the series was the last one, “Jackass 3D’s” $50 million debut in 2010. But, costing only $10 million to produce, “Jackass Forever” is already a clear success for Paramount. The studio was predicting a launch in the mid-teens.

Men accounted for 68% of the R-rated “Jackass Forever” audience, which was 67% between the ages of 18 and 34.

“Both ‘Scream’ and ‘Jackass Forever’ had a very long lag time between installments and absence made the heart grow fonder for ‘Jackass,’” said Paul Dergarabedian, the senior media analyst for Comscore. “They’ve always done quite well. They don’t cost a lot to make and the communal nature of the theater elevates a comedy like ‘Jackass.’”

“Moonfall,” meanwhile, which cost around $140 million to produce, is not doing well stateside. Lionsgate estimated the film’s opening weekend grosses to be just over $10 million, which was in line with its projections. Directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson, “Moonfall” was not well-received by critics. The disaster pic about a possible collision between the moon and the Earth holds a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. Like “Jackass,” its audience was also mostly male (60%).

“Moonfall” was made and financed independently through Emmerich’s Centropolis Entertainment and foreign deals and, like many big budget disaster pics of this ilk, is supposed to earn most of its money internationally. Lionsgate only oversaw distribution in North America and its expected to be profitable for the studio.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” took in an additional $9.6 million in its eighth weekend in North American theaters, bringing its domestic total to $748.9 million. Globally, its earnings total $1.77 billion.

“Films that appeal to a younger audience have a much bigger potential for success (during the pandemic),” Dergarabedian said. “And the young male audience really seems like they want to go to the movie theater.”

In art house releases, Neon debuted “ The Worst Person in the World ” on four screens this weekend to $135,042. The Norwegian film about a young woman finding herself is shortlisted for an Oscar nomination (which will be announced on Tuesday), topped many critics’ best of lists in 2021, and has gotten a fair share of celebrity endorsements (from Nancy Meyers to Paul Thomas Anderson). Its per-theater average ($33,760) is the highest of 2022. Neon will add theaters in the coming weeks.

Though still far from a normal, pre-pandemic weekend, it did break a bit of a lull that will likely continue until “The Batman” opens on March 4.

“It’s not the biggest weekend ever but considering how quiet the marketplace has been, it’s very welcome,” said Dergarabedian.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.

1. “Jackass Forever,” $23.5 million.

2. “Moonfall,” $10 million.

3. “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” $9.6 million.

4. “Scream,” $4.7 million.

5. “Sing 2,” $4.2 million.

6. “The King’s Man,” $1.2 million.

7. “Redeeming Love,” $1 million.

8. “American Underdog,” $800,000.

9. “The 355,” $700,000.

10. “The Wolf and the Lion,” $675,027.

Dwayne Johnson Walks Back Joe Rogan Support After N-Word Controversy

In a predictable turn of events, Dwayne Johnson has walked back his support of Joe Rogan after a video of the podcaster saying the N-word went viral last week. Johnson had initially spoken out in support of Rogan following the ongoing Spotify controversy, commenting on Rogan’s response video, “Great stuff here, brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on [the podcast] one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

After author Don Winslow tagged Johnson in a tweet linking to the compilation video, Johnson replied, “Thank you so much for this. I hear you as well as everyone here 100%.” He continued, “I was not aware of his N word use prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative. Learning moment for me.” Rogan has since apologized for his usage of the N-word, calling the video “fucking horrible, even to me,” but adding that the clips were “taken out of context.” Spotify has deleted over 100 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience in the past few days, and various public figures are continuing to boycott the streaming service over its platforming of Rogan and COVID-19 misinformation.

"Since I have not publicly said this in a post, I wanted [to] say that I am Bisexual," he wrote. "When I was younger I thought I was straight, because I was more attracted to women, and I didn't know there were more options besides Gay and Straight. So I just assumed I was Straight. I am privileged and have never been discriminated against for my sexuality or ashamed of it. I'm truly sorry for any of you who have been, and I hope it gets better."

"I'll probably lose some fans over this post, but that's fine with me," Fredericks added, posting a photo of himself in a tie-dye tank top.

He previously revealed that he's living with his partner in Troy, N.Y., telling The Daily Gazette they've been together for around five years after meeting at a rock climbing gym. Fredericks noted that it was his first time living with someone else, other than family.

"We both have our responsibilities of making sure the apartment is clean," he said. "I can't even really call them chores. I'm so used to chores being like 'you are going to go out to the barn and muck a giant stall.' So I just sweep the floor? It feels easy."

"I'm really just excited to be able to get back to work on the farm and just really take in the open space and the nature around my home is just amazing," he said.

Actor Columbus Short Arrested For Domestic Violence Again

Former ‘Stomp The Yard’ Star Columbus Short Arrested For Domestic Violence Again

According to TMZ, authorities were called to Columbus Short’s San Fernando Valley, California home on Wednesday, February 2, after a verbal disagreement between the couple allegedly got physical. Short reportedly argued his wife punched him, but police officers didn’t identify any marks on the actor that would back up his statements. However, police allege they saw small wounds on his wife and arrested the actor on suspicion of felony domestic violence.

Back In 2014, he was taken into custody for felony battery after punching a guy during a bar fight, and in 2018 he was found guilty and served a year in jail for allegedly hitting Abramyan-Short. Recently, Short said his altercations with the law were an outcome of his struggles with addiction.

“I’ll be candid. I was struggling with drugs,” Short expressed to Access Hollywood in 2014. “I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was using unhealthy ways to kind of self-medicate and deal with a lot of heavy duty stuff in my life. I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then.”

Short has yet to be charged in this latest occurrence, but hasn’t commented on the arrest. Rather, he took to Instagram to post a Bible verse from 1 Corinthians 9:25.

Steph Curry sports new shoes designed by DC boutique The Museum

Stephen Curry debuted a new collaboration between his Curry Brand and a Washington D.C. boutique on his feet this week.

Curry broke out The Museum DC x Curry Brand Curry 1 retro collaboration before his game against the Sacramento Kings Thursday (Feb. 3).  He scored 20 points and dished out seven assists in a Golden State Warriors victory.

On Instagram,  The Museum’s founders — Legreg Harrison and Muhammad Hill — said they were “grateful and thankful for the opportunity.”

In a press release, Harrison and Hill said they “wanted to pay homage” to the city and community that supports them.

“The best way to be inclusive and clear, so that everyone understands the point we were making, was to make the backdrop the D.C. metro map. It covers the entire city, and surrounding areas,” they explained while describing the shoe.

The high-top basketball sneaker is also a tribute to Harrison and Hill’s respective journeys from local rival hoop stars to distinguished business partners.

“The design process was very unique but flowed seamlessly,” Harrison and Hill said. “Our design tells the story of two native Washingtonians from two different sides of the city — Southeast and Northwest.”

Hill and Harrison previously worked as consultants for Under Armour’s “The Elite 24” All-American game. The two shared ideas with the Baltimore, Maryland company and advised them on colorways, story concepts, collaborations, and product placement.

Years later, through their connection with childhood friend Steve Segaears, who is the Senior Merchant of Global Merchandising for Curry Brand, Hill and Harrison’s dream of creating their own collaboration with the company has come to fruition.

The red, blue, orange, yellow, green, and silver colors used on the silhouette of The Museum DC x Curry Brand Curry 1 reflect the same six colors that are used to represent the trains on the D.C. metro.

“Regardless of your path, with many rail options to choose from, our hope is that these metro passes will grant you unlimited access as you travel to the destination of your dreams,” the founders said.

The insoles of the sneaker were designed to inspire inner-city kids, like Harrison and Hill, who grew up in areas such as Southside and Northeast.

The icy soles feature a variety of colorful inscriptions that also nod to The District. ‘Go-Go,’ the city’s official music is written on the bottom, as are popular terms such as ‘On Muvas,’ ‘Da City,’ and ‘Youngin.’

Plus, the padded mesh tongue is lined with synthetic suede to protect your feet, an external heel counter that helps eliminate sliding and a multi-directional herringbone outsole for superior court feel and control.

The retro Curry 1 is the first of three sneakers that will be released as part of The Museum DC’s capsule collection with the Curry Brand.

A full collection of co-branded apparel, including  a hoodie, crewneck sweatshirt, hooded jogger suit, and a snapback hat, is set to be unveiled at the end of February.

One hundred pairs of The Museum DC x Curry Brand Curry 1 will be released Saturday, (Feb. 5) at 12 p.m. for $200 exclusively at The Museum DC.

Gossip Maven Flo Anthony Claims She Was not Invited to the MJ Musical

*Flo Anthony could not fall asleep and had to weep over and over. Reason? She had not seen her name in the list of the invitees to the opening night of the Michael Jackson musical on Broadway dubbed “MJ: The Musical.”

The show started on Tuesday and tickets sold like hot cake. Anyone who ought to be there was there, except Flo Anthony, who believed she had the right to be there because Michael Jackson and many other members of the Jackson clan used to be her pals. She was close to them because she covered their careers as a reporter. She covered Jackson’s trials and tribulations for many outlets throughout the Eighties and Nineties.

The gossip maven wept bitterly, soaking her bed with tears. According to her, she had been shunned from attending the first night of the show because she was just a press, not an influencer. Tired and sick of weeping, she took to Facebook early Thursday morning.

“I normally don’t complain about anything, but it is almost 2 a.m., and I can’t go to sleep over the fact that I wasn’t invited to the opening night of ‘MJ: The Musical,'” she wrote. “I have been crying all day that I was not invited and was told, I was not an influencer or a community advocate and only press. I am so hurt.”

Unknownst to her, she had actually been invited; her name was on the list all along. She had only not seen it.

A spokesperson had to clarify that, “Of course, we wanted Flo at our opening night” and that “this was nothing more than a miscommunication.”

Anthony was confirmed to see the play on Friday and the show’s representative said, “we can’t wait to really roll out the red carpet for her.”

On learning she had been invited, the good lady deleted the Facebook post by 9 a.m. In its place, she posted an apology that partly read “my dear friend in heaven, Michael Jackson, the Michael Jackson Estate, the producers… and all connected to the play for my post. When one is emotional in the wee hours of the morning, it’s best to stay off social media.”

She later explained that she loved Michael Jackson very much; he was her friend, and she always stood by him. Speaking to Page Six, she said she “first met Michael, LaToya, Randy and Janet at Disney World in the late 70s, standing in line to buy tickets… and through the years we became friends.”

Kelly Price Says Her Sister Tried To Put Her In A Conservatorship While She Was Battling COVID-19: ‘I Almost Got Britney Speared’

Kelly Price says she was almost put in a conservatorship by her sister while she was privately battling Covid.

During her interview with comedian Luenell, Kelly says her sister allegedly tried to put her in a conservatorship last summer. Around that time, Kelly couldn’t be found because she was recovering from COVID-19.

“I almost got ‘Britney Speared,’ this summer. There was a conservatorship in play by a specific family member. And some of the family did fall out about it. I had a great aunt who did have something to say to my sister about that and said, ‘Why would you do that,’” Kelly says.

The singer mentions that her aunt asked her sister her reason for conservatorship. According to Price’s sister, she did not want Kelly’s husband to take everything if she, unfortunately, died from her Covid complications. However, Kelly says she and her husband did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement, but they do “have an understanding.”

Kelly’s family may not have liked the conservatorship idea, but it was probably a good idea since Kelly went flatlined while in the hospital.

“When I went into the hospital, they shut down visitation. Men were not allowed to come to the hospital with their wives having babies when I was in the hospital. I was unconscious for days, actually. My heart did stop. I was medically dead. They were able to resuscitate me,” she said.

Beanie Sigel records with Kanye West for ‘Donda 2’ album

Ye’s Donda 2 recording sessions are officially underway, and it appears Beanie Sigel may be featured on the album.

On Saturday (Feb. 5), Beans took to Instagram to share a few photos and videos of himself in the studio.

“Donda 2 sheesh !!!” Beans wrote, tagging Ye, DaBaby and producers ATL Jacob, and Roccstar.

While the sound is turned off on the video clips so fans can’t hear the heat Beans was working on, the photos show the State Property rapper smiling, embracing DaBaby and huddled up around a smirking Ye.

Ye and Beanie were both a part of Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s. Their relationship dates back to Beans’ debut album The Truth where Ye produced the first track — also titled “The Truth.”

Ye produced two more songs — “Nothing Like It” and “Gangsta Gangsta” — on Sigel’s second album The Reason.

The mini Roc reunion may have something to do with an interview Yeezy did on REVOLT’s “Drink Champs” podcast last year.

“People who took a liking to me in volatile situations would always give me a nickname, so it seemed like I was cool like them,” Ye told N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. “[Yeezy] was Beanie’s name for me when I was at Baseline. On some like ‘That’s Yeezy’ … make him one of us. He let me wear his State Property chain. He really just embraced me.”

The Chi-town superproducer added that he planned to reimburse Beans for coming up with the nickname, which now doubles as the name for his merchandise.

“I still owe Beanie money, and I been trying to give him this money for a minute,” the Donda rapper said. ”I been trying to give it to him … this man made up the name. It’s like, you know, the lady who made the Nike Swoosh. Phil Knight went back and made sure she was straight.”

Ye would later promise Beanie $50 million and 5% stock in Yeezy for coming up with the moniker.

But the “Feel it in the Air” rapper would decline Ye’s gesture in an interview with TMZ.

He humbly told the outlet that it was Ye who “took the name and ran with it.”

“As far as his business mind and where he took it, Kanye work hard for his. Kanye don’t owe me nothing,” Beanie said. Instead of a one-time check, Beanie said he is open to doing business with Ye.

“I’m not even thinking about a [monetary] number,” he said. “But I would love to do some business where I can earn some money, ‘cause I’m an earner. I never was the type to take just for a handout.”

Andrea Bordeaux Says She Was Fired From ‘Run the World’ Starz Series Over Covid Vaccine Mandate –

Andrea Bordeaux has spoken out about her exit from the Starz/Lionsgate TV series Run the World.

“Getting the opportunity to play Ella on #RunTheWorld was an absolute dream come true,” Bordeaux wrote on Instagram. “I would have loved to continue to grow with this delightful character and having to come to terms with this sharp turn in my life, my dream, and career these past several weeks has been heartbreaking beyond words.”

Bordeaux said that “Lionsgate made no efforts to find a workable solution” and that she was fired from the series for not complying with the new Covid vaccine mandate.

“My heart is with all of the people around the world who feel that they are losing so much due to their choice to stand in their convictions and to honor their deepest core beliefs,” Bordeaux added.

According to sources, Bordeaux’s departure stems from the new Covid protocols on the show. Lionsgate requires casts as well as crews working in Zone A on their productions to be fully vaccinated.

I hear Lionsgate Television had conversations with Bordeaux about her concerns over the vaccine mandate and reasonable ways to accomodate them. Ultimately, the two sides could not find a workable solution, and Bordeaux left the series. The actor declined comment; she is expected to publicly address her decision in a statement at her own time.

Bordeaux’s role will not be recast. It is unclear whether the series will introduce a new character to fill the void left by her departure as one of Run the World‘s four leads.

The Covid safety protocols agreed upon by the Hollywood studios and unions give producers “the option to implement mandatory vaccination policies for casts and crew in Zone A (which includes the actors and those who directly interact with them) on a production-by-production basis”. More and more series have implemented the requirement, with some studios, like Disney TV Studios, Netflix and Lionsgate TV, making it mandatory on their U.S. productions.

This has led to a handful of cast member departures, including 9-1-1’s Rockmond Dunbar’s recent exit from the Fox/20th TV hit drama series.

Created, written and executive produced by Leigh Davenport, Run the World follows a group of smart, funny, and vibrant thirty-something Black women – fiercely loyal best friends – who live, work and play in Harlem.

Bordeaux starred in Season 1 alongside fellow co-leads Amber Stevens West, Bresha Webb and Corbin Reid as well as Stephen Bishop and Tosin Morohunfola. Erika Alexander, Nick Sagar, Jay Walker and Tonya Pinkins recurred. The upcoming second season of Run the World, which films in New York, has a new showrunner, Rachelle Williams who executive produces alongside Davenport as well as Season 1 showrunner Yvette Lee Bowser.

Bordeaux is known for her recurring role as Harley Hidoko on NCIS: Los Angeles. She also did an arc on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles.

’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Geoffrey Pashcel Was Sentenced To 18 Years For Domestic Violence

90 Day Fiancé star Geoffrey Pashcel was sentenced to 18 years in prison without the possibility of parole on Thursday.

In October, Paschel, 44, was convicted on charges of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls.

The charges resulted from an incident that occurred in June of 2019 between him and his ex-fiancée Kristen Wilson. Police responded to a domestic disturbance in West Knoxville. When they arrived, Wilson told them that Paschel had assaulted her in her home. Wilson accused Paschel of grabbing her by the neck and slamming her head into a wall. He also threw her on the floor and dragged her, took her cell phone, and refused to let her leave.

Wilson was able to escape to a neighbor’s house after Paschel fell asleep. She was diagnosed with a concussion following the incident. Officers witnessed bruises and abrasions on her body.

Paschel denied assaulting Wilson and claimed her injuries were self-inflicted.

Paschel appeared on Season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The show aired in 2020. He became engaged to Varya Malina, 33, but was not present for the tell-taping due to his legal troubles.

Viewers had called on the network to remove him from the series following the domestic abuse allegations. Paschel has a history of legal woes, including multiple drug trafficking charges.

Roger Goodell Sends Memo To All Teams Acknowledging Diversity Policies Inadequate

On Saturday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell dispatched a statement to all team executives and club presidents, acknowledging that the league’s policies on diversity, equity, and inclusion have fallen short and need to be reevaluated.

“Racism and any form of discrimination is contrary to the NFL’s values. We have made significant efforts to promote diversity and adopted numerous policies and programs which have produced positive change in many areas, however, we must acknowledge that particularly with respect to head coach the results have been unacceptable,” Goodell said in the memo. “We will reevaluate and examine all policies, guidelines, and initiatives relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including as they relate to gender. We are retaining outside experts to assist in this review and will also solicit input from current and former players and coaches, advocates, and other authorities in this area.”

Goodell’s statement, which he sent to all 32 clubs, acknowledges former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores’ class-action lawsuit. The NFL issued a statement last week denying Flores’ claims, stating they are “without merit.”

“We understand the concerns expressed by Coach Flores and others this week. While the legal process moves forward, we will not wait to reassess and modify our strategies to ensure that they are consistent with our values and longstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion,” it continued. “In particular, we recognize the need to understand the lived experiences of diverse members of the NFL family to ensure that everyone has access to opportunity and is treated with respect and dignity.”

Goodell also referenced a claim by Flores that he was given a $100,000 bonus per loss in 2019. The commissioner said the league takes “seriously any issue relating to the integrity” of games. According to him, the matter will be reviewed by independent experts, and he expects full cooperation.

Following his recent firing, Flores is suing the NFL, the Dolphins, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants. He is suing the Broncos over an interview he had in 2019 and a “sham” interview with the Giants last month.

NFL Network reported Mike Garafolo posted a statement by Flores’ attorneys Doug Wigdor and John Elefterakis following Goodell’s memo. The statement called Goodell’s memo a public relations stunt rather than meaningful change.

“We would be pleased to talk to the Commissioner about real change, but unfortunately, he has not reached out to us to engage in such discussion,” the statement read, in part. “In fact, nobody from the NFL has reached out to us. Absent such a discussion followed by unbiased and concrete change, we believe that a court or governmental agency must order a federal monitor to oversee the NFL as the NFL cannot continue to police itself.”
