NeNe Leakes is expressing her gratitude. The former star of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" thanked her fans after her loyal supporters said that instead of Sherri Shepherd, she should be taking over Wendy Williams' talk show slot.
On Sunday, February 20, The Shade Room shared some of Twitter users' reactions to reports of "The Wendy Williams Show" being replaced by "Sherri Shepherd Show". In a screenshot shared by the celebrity gossip account, one social media user wrote, "The ONLY person who should be replacing Wendy Williams is NeNe Leakes," which gained more than 3,200 likes on Twitter.
"Yes she is the only one. She be having me rolllllllinnnn and besides we need her energy," a separate person praised NeNe. The said person added, "Somebody just needs to tell her to clear her throat."
Upon learning of her fans' remarks, NeNe expressed her gratitude as saying, "Thank y'all for the love," adding a red heart emoji. Not stopping there, she also turned to her Twitter account to show some love for her loyal supporters, writing an identical comment.

Some people are just made for stardom, and excel at whatever it is they do. Such is the case with Saucy Santana, who was originally a young makeup artist and hairdresser in Tallahassee, Fla., after moving there from Connecticut. He made his way in life by hustling and boosting years ago, with no real interest in making music, even with his proximity to his close friends, Miami rap duo City Girls. Then 2019 changed all that. After Saucy created his very first song, "Walk Em Like A Dog"—not to be confused with his other hit "Walk"—solely because he needed a theme song for his podcast in 2019, things started moving. The track is centered on leaving a man who isn't worth it while recognizing the self-worth within, and it resonated to the point that the rising rapper started getting booked for local shows.

Kendrick Lamar Is ‘Ready To Build His Own Thing’ Ahead Of His Departure From The Label
Last summer, Kendrick Lamar made a rare appearance on social media, where he delivered a shocking announcement: He revealed that his upcoming fifth album would be his last under Top Dawg Entertainment.

“That’s a grown man right now,” Punch said. “We watched him grow from a teenager up into an established grown man, a businessman, and one of the greatest artists of all time. So how long do you actually be signed up under somebody? It’s been almost 20 years.”
He added that it’s time for Kendrick to “move on and try new things and venture out.”Push said he’s “doing a great job developing Baby Keem.”
“It’s always been there, but now it’s just time and space where he can actually do it,” he said. “It’s a beautiful thing to watch because that’s something that started with what we built in the beginning. To see it blossom, it’s a full-circle moment.”
Lamar and Free refused to put pgLang in a box, describing the company in its mission statement as “multi-lingual,” and adding that it’s “not a ‘record label,’ a ‘movie studio,’ or a ‘publishing house.’ This is something new.” In the first few months since its inception, pgLang has lived up to its proclamation with the release of Keem’s??? debut album The Melodic Blue, coupled with a Calvin Klein collaboration, and most recently, an upcoming live-action comedy film co-produced by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
“It’s different now just because it’s different, not because it’s his last project. It’s just the evolution of where we are,” Punch said about viewing Lamar’s last TDE album differently. “Kendrick doesn’t need anybody in the studio to coach him and help him make an album anymore. He’s well capable of doing everything on his own. It’s just the timeframe that we’re in.”

Chris Noth Returns To Social Media Following Sexual Assault Allegations, Firing
Actor Chris Noth has returned to social media. The former And Just Like That... star, 67, resurfaced on Instagram in recent days to celebrate his two young sons. The posts come just two months after four women accused the star, who rose to fame on Law and Order and Sex and the City, of sexual assault.
Last week, Noth shared a shot of 14-year-old son Orion during a basketball game. On Saturday, he paid tribute to his younger son, Keats, in honor of his second birthday. The actor shares the boys with wife Tara Wilson.
Several commenters voiced support for Noth, leaving messages like, "Welcome back to Insta Chris. I believe you."
The posts mark his first social media activity since Dec. 11, just days before the initial allegations against Noth surfaced in an article published by The Hollywood Reporter on Dec. 16, in which two women accused him of sexual assault. In response to the allegations, Noth said the separate incidents, which took place in 2004 and 2015, were consensual.
"The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross," he told Yahoo Entertainment in a statement at the time. "The encounters were consensual. It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."
Those accusations were followed by more from a third woman. Actress Zoe Lister-Jones, who worked at Noth's former NYC nightclub and later appeared in a 2005 episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent with him, claimed the actor exhibited "sexually inappropriate" behavior and called him a "predator."
In response to her allegations, Noth claimed he "has no knowledge of who this individual is" and "would never cross that line."
Following the allegations, Noth was fired from The Equalizer, the CBS series in which he co-starred with Queen Latifah, and was dropped by his talent agency, A3 Entertainment. Soon after, Noth's And Just Like That... co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis responded in joint messages on social media.
"We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it," the actresses said. The show also cut scenes featuring Noth as Mr. Big from the show's season finale.
At the end of December, a fourth woman, singer-songwriter Lisa Gentile, went on to claim she was "sexually abused" and "sexually victimized" by Noth in 2002, the Daily Mail reported.
Noth spoke to a paparazzo near his Massachusetts home on Dec. 22, saying, "My statement's out, I rest by my statement. I'll now let the chips fall where they may. My statement is my statement, that's all I can give."
Nick Cannon Shares Thoughts on Why Monogamy Isn't Healthy While Expecting His 8th Child
Nick Cannon is sharing his thoughts on monogamy and why it isn’t healthy.
The 41-year-old entertainer and talk show host recently announced that he’s expecting his eighth child and he shares those eight kids with five different women.
While Nick does believe that married people should stay monogamous, he doesn’t think it’s healthy to be in a monogamous relationship.
“I don’t think monogamy is healthy. I feel like that gets into the space of selfishness and ownership,” Nick said while appearing on Dr. Laura Berman‘s The Language of Love podcast.
Nick doesn’t think that married people should break their covenants.
“Married is not single,” he said. “When you allow the government and paperwork to come in and say, ‘This is a bond, this is a covenant’ … you’re not single. You can still make covenants without getting the government involved, where two people say, ‘We choose to be monogamous because we value this so much, we don’t want anyone to be a part of this energy we have,’ and I don’t feel like that’s healthy.”
In the same interview, Nick addressed whether or not he’ll have more kids.
U.S. Olympic Figure Skaters Alexa Knierim & Brandon Frazier Are Being Sued for Copyright Infringement
Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, two figure skaters on the U.S. team, are being sued for copyright infringement and NBC is also named in the lawsuit.
The skaters performed to the song “House of the Rising Sun” during their short program at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
Robert and Aron Marderosian, who are known as Heavy Young Heathens, composed the arrangement of the song and they filed the lawsuit for copyright infringement. They allege that the skaters used their son without permission and that the broadcast networks did not get permission to air the song or give them proper credit.
In addition to the skaters, the lawsuit names US Figure Skating, NBC Universal Media and its subsidiaries, Peacock and USA Network.
“The track features an originally composed introduction and unique arrangement that has allowed it to be a very sought after recording,” the lawsuit said (via Insider). “The track represents a very valuable licensing asset for Plaintiffs and is a signature song of theirs throughout the world.”
The musicians say the use of the song was a “brazen and improper effort to capitalize on Plaintiff’s hard work and copyright ownership.” They say the improper use caused them “substantial, immediate, and irreparable injury.”
The duo’s lawyer, who is also their father, told Insider, “Prior to filing the lawsuit, I reached out to the skater’s agent to see if we could resolve this, but my request was completely ignored. This use has greatly diminished the licensing future for this song, as it will now be forever linked to figure skating which limits its future use.”
Justin Bieber tests positive for COVID-19, cancels Las Vegas show
Justin Bieber has tested positive for COVID-19. The singer, 27, found out he contracted the coronavirus on Saturday but “thankfully is feeling OK,” his rep told TMZ.
According to the outlet, Bieber also had to cancel his scheduled show at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. The show has been rescheduled for the summer.
Bieber is supposed to perform two more shows this upcoming week – in Arizona on Tuesday and California on Thursday – but no word yet on whether those will also be postponed.
A rep for the singer did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
News of Bieber’s COVID-19 diagnosis comes one week after he performed to a packed crowd at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif., for the hwood Group and Revolve’s “Homecoming Weekend” pre-Super Bowl party.
The singr performed hits like “Yummy,” “Peaches” and “As I Am” at the bash, which was attended by stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Eli Manning, Chrishell Stause, Jason Oppenheim and Bieber’s wife, Hailey.
Bieber later headed to celebrity hotspot The Nice Guy, where a shooting involving Kodak Black occurred. The rapper was shot in the leg outside of the venue and taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
As Page Six previously reported, the incident happened while Kodak Black was outside on the street chatting with fellow rappers Gunna and Lil Baby.
“The fight was believed to have started with someone in Kodak Black’s entourage,” a source told us. “After others jumped in, shots were fired… and then all hell broke loose.”
Police told Page Six at the time that 10 shots were fired, leaving at least three people injured.
“One victim sustained injuries to his shoulder, another to the buttocks and a third was believed to be shot in the leg,” the source added.
Donald Glover and ‘Atlanta’ writers recall being racially harassed in London
Donald Glover and his fellow writers for FX series “Atlanta” recently recalled being racially harassed while shooting the show’s final season in London.
Writer and executive producer Stephen Glover — Donald’s younger brother — revealed during a TCA press conference this week that the staffers were approached by a group of blokes while filming, initially engaging them in a seemingly innocent conversation.
“This group of people walks up,” Stephen, 31, began. “And maybe one of them kind of notices Donald or recognizes him. And she stops, and they start asking if they know anywhere around here to get something to drink. I think we were talking to them for a second. It’s this girl and two or three guys.”
It was then that one of the guys in the group said the crew could probably break into a bar because “you guys all carry hammers,” with hammers being slang for guns.
“Mind you, all of the writers on ‘Atlanta’ are Black,” Stephen added. “So, he’s making a reference that we all have hammers, and we can just break into this place, which we kind of ignored.
“It was so insulting, but not insulting at the same time because it took us five minutes to fully understand,” he continued. “He got to a point of, like, if the insinuation was lost on us, he got specific and he was like, ‘You guys are Black, you’ve gone to jail and you do things like that.’ Like, he kept doubling down on it.”
One of the guys then instructed their female friend to run away because she could be “raped”
“The girl was literally, like, ‘I’m sorry,’ as she’s being taken away,” Stephen said. “So, it was pretty bad.”
Show creator Donald then added, “We are just standing there, like, ‘What just happened?’”
The crew have been shooting the third and fourth seasons of “Atlanta” concurrently, and have just confirmed that the show’s fourth season will be its last.
Dr. Dre, Eminem albums climb Billboard 200 albums chart after Super Bowl
Dr. Dre and Eminem have top ten albums on this week’s Billboard 200 albums chart. No, it’s not an error from the early 2000s either.
The hip hop heavyweights both saw massive sales and streams since performing at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show on Sunday (Feb. 13).
Billboard states that Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits and Dr. Dre’s Dr. Dre – 2001 albums both returned to the top 10.
Eminem’s Curtain Call album, which previously debuted at No. 1 on the charts in 2005, earned nearly 31,000 album-equivalent units, while Dr. Dre’s 2001 project earned 30,500 units.
Eminem’s album shot up from No. 126 on the Billboard chart to No. 8 this week, while Dre’s album rose from the No. 108 spot to No. 9.
What’s even more remarkable is the date the last time both albums were in the Billboard 200 top 10. Eminem’s Curtain Call returned to the top 10 for the first time since the March 11, 2006 chart, Billboard reports. And Dr. Dre’s 2001, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 back in December 1999, was last in the top 10 in May 2000.
Mary J. Blige’s new album Good Morning Gorgeous earned 25,809 album equivalent units according to MRC Data and Kendrick Lamar’s GOOD KiD M.A.A.D. City earned 19,986 units. His Damn album earned nearly 16,000 units.
REVOLT previously reported that the songs each artist performed during the halftime show also saw significant increases in streams via Spotify.
Dre’s hits “The Next Episode” and “Still D.R.E.” shot up 270 percent and 245 percent, respectively, after the performance. His overall streams also increased by a whopping 185 percent on the platform in the days following the Super Bowl.
Blige’s “No More Drama” rose 520 percent in Spotify streams and digital plays of Lamar’s 2015 anthem “Alright,” also soared 250 percent on the streaming platform.
Virginia moves closer to allowing former felons the right to vote
A new bill in Virginia would allow former felons the right to vote.
According to Richmond, Virginia TV station WRIC, the Virginia Senate has passed Senate Bill 21 and Senate Bill 767.
SB 767 supports SB 21 by encouraging former felons to vote, while the primary bill authorizes them to vote.
WRIC states that SB 21 also forbids former felons from casting ballots if they are mentally incapable of understanding how to vote.
Both pieces of legislation were introduced by Virginia Senator Mamie Locke — who has supported varying forms of the bill since 2018.
The Democratic Senator wants to change the fact that Virginians with prior felony convictions are not allowed to vote in elections unless the governor or another authoritative entity restores their rights.
Last year, in front of the Senate Privileges and Elections Committee, Locke stated, “Automatic restoration of rights is not racial justice.”
“It is beyond dispute that felony disenfranchisement is like Jim Crow as poll taxes,” she said at the time. “Why are we talking about giving something back to people that should have never been taken away in the first place? The right to vote is the essential currency of democracy. Withholding it from 100,000 of Black Virginians whether they are incarcerated or not makes a mockery of any pretense that we are a commonwealth seeking to right past wrongs, and offer reparations for past injustices.”
Former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe restored voting rights in 2016 to nearly 200,000 felons through a monumental executive order.
The Virginia Supreme Court, however, ruled that McAuliffe’s executive order was unconstitutional and that voting rights should be restored on a case-by-case basis.
According to the American Civil Liberties Union, there are over 250,000 residents in Virginia who cannot vote due to a previous conviction. The organization states there are currently over five million former felons nationwide who have completed their sentences but can no longer vote.
Lawmakers passed the proposed constitutional amendment last year, WRIC reports. But in order to amend the Virginia constitution, legislators need to pass the bills by majority vote for two consecutive years and then voters can decide in November through a referendum.
If the bills clear the House, the laws could potentially go into effect early next year.
Juwaun Howard Tells Why He Took Swipe Wisconsin Coach
*If you missed it, on Sunday (02-20-22), Juwan Howard got physical with another coach after his team’s bitter loss in a basketball game and ended up in a nasty fight. Not a good look.
Howard, the University of Michigan’s men’s basketball head coach got into it Sunday while shaking hands with Wisconsin Badgers‘ head coach, Greg Gard. The Badgers beat the Wolverines 77-63 in a hard-fought game.
During a post-game press conference, Howard said he was expressing his frustration to Gard about a late-game timeout he’d taken — at which point, Gard started to touch him in a way that Howard felt was totally unnecessary.
It certainly sounds like Howard’s claiming self-defense, but the reality is he’s the one who took the swipe well after Gard was removed from the situation. Don’t be surprised if a suspension against Howard is announced shortly.

While UoW’s HC, Greg Gard, approached JH in the lineup … he appeared to get snubbed by the latter — which made him start to get in Juwan’s face, as the two of them began yapping back and forth.
Soon, it became clear this was going beyond words … as other coaches and players had to rush between them to break up a face-off. Juwan wasn’t done yet though … in an apparent effort to reach Gard, he took what looked to be an open-hand swing at one of the Wisconsin assistant coaches, and made contact. Taking to her IG Story, the stylist shared a DM with the singer, where she asked “Do you travel.” The stylist responded, “No I don’t travel. I’ve done your hair before through my other hair business (Closure Perfection) and I wasn’t happy with the experience. Sorry for the inconvenience ❤️. ” K says, “You’re the girl that burnt me up huh? The stylist then posts a few videos further explaining. She says, “Y’all. K. Michelle is a liar. I caught the curling iron before it could even touch her skin like that. That’s first of all.” Addressing K, she says, “Second of all, you don’t even know me. Why would you want to get your hair done naked? That’s very unprofessional., You made me uncomfortable. Then you got mad with me when I asked you if you could put on some clothes.” She continues, “K. Michelle had just gone through the process of getting her butt removed or whatever, and she turned around and…,” the stylist stops and makes a “WTF” face. She concludes her posts stating, “K. Draymond Green’s La Home Burglarized Of Over $1m In Items
Intruders ravished Draymond Green’s Los Angeles home, stealing over $1 million in items including watches and jewelry.
According to TMZ, Draymond was at the Super Bowl during the robbery and came home to find his home ransacked. The robbers entered Draymond’s home through a window and escaped with watches, jewelry, and more.
Currently, there have been no arrests made in the case.
On the brighter side for Draymond, he starred in Build a Bigger Table: All for the Pack, a new digital campaign from Lobos 1707 Tequila and Mezcal. Green is an investor in the tequila brand. NBA All-Star Game 2022 results, highlights: Curry drops 50, LeBron James dagger ices victory over Team Durant
What a game! Team LeBron emerged victorious in the 71st All-Star Game, defeating Team Durant 163-160, courtesy of a game-winning jumper from who else but LeBron James, who finished with 24 points on the night.
While James proved to be the game-winner, it was the Stephen Curry show for the majority of the night with the Warriors star earning MVP honors, falling just shy of breaking the all-time All-Star game scoring record, pouring in 50 points on a scorching 16-of-27 from the 3-point line.
Joel Embiid led Team Durant with 36 points, while Devin Booker added 20 and LaMelo Ball 18.
With the win, Team LeBron won $450,000 for the Kent State I Promise Scholars program, while Team Durant won $300,000 for the Cleveland Food Bank.
Amazon Renews Tracy Oliver’s ‘Harlem’ For 2nd Season
Tracy Oliver’s hit comedy ‘Harlem’ has been picked up by Amazon’s Prime Video for a second season.
The show, which is created, written, and executive produced by Oliver, Harlem surrounds the lives of four stylish and ambitious best girlfriends who live in Harlem.
Meagan Good plays Camille, a popular young anthropology professor at Columbia University who has extensive knowledge of the dating norms across many cultures but has struggled with her own love life.
Tye (Jerrie Johnson) is a successful creator of a queer dating app. Quinn, who is played by Grace Byers, is a hopeless romantic and a trust-fund fashion designer who wants to give back to the world while also running a struggling business.
Angie (Shoniqua Shandai) is the show’s confident and filter-free singer/actress who lives rent-free with Quinn.
Together, the girlfriends level up from their 20s into the next phases of their lives, including their careers, relationships, and big-city dreams.
The group of girls will return in season 2 as they continue to rise in New York’s bustling Harlem city, Deadline reported.
The show sparked social media buzz after it premiered last year, with much of the feedback focused on celebrating the show for highlighting Black joy.
Harlem has also scored a GLAAD Award nomination for its inclusive LGBTQIA+ storyline, which includes a queer character as one of the lead roles, and an NAACP Award nomination for its authentic representation of Black culture.
“When I walked into a bar in Harlem and overheard folks excitedly discussing the show, I knew we had a hit,” said Oliver. “Harlem has resonated with so many people, and I’m beyond grateful to Amazon for giving it a second season. Most of all, I’m excited to reunite with the beautiful cast.”

‘RHOSLC’ Recap: Jennie Nguyen Throws Glass At Mary Cosby In Explosive Fight
What a way to go out, ladies. Sunday night’s finale episode of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” saw Jennie Nguyen throw a glass at Mary Cosby during an explosive fight.
The altercation came after Whitney Rose tried apologizing to Cosby for calling her Faith Temple Pentecostal Church a “cult.”
Nguyen’s decision to join the conversation and air her grievances with the controversial preacher ignited major discord at an event for Lisa Barlow’s Vida Tequila.
Cosby, uninterested in conversing with the Bravo newbie, eventually pulled Rose, 36, away to discuss their issues one-on-one — but a persistent Nguyen followed.
“I didn’t sign up for you,” Cosby, 49, told a notably confrontational Nguyen, who immediately snapped back, “I didn’t sign up for you, either!”
Nguyen, 44, went on to accuses Cosby of calling her a “f—king psycho,” a claim the religious leader denied.
“Well, then what did you say under your breath about me?” a paranoid Nguyen pressed, causing Cosby to exit the party.
“Oh, run away. Run away, Mary! Run away. Run the f—k away because you don’t have nothing to say, Mary,” Nguyen shouted as she launched her drink at Cosby. “If you have something to say about me, say it to my face!”
Jen Shah tried bringing the women together and mediating the situation, but Cosby refused.
“I will never talk to her. Never,” she said, before making a beeline to the emergency exit.
“Hurry up, run! You got a maniac on the loose!” Cosby told herself as she made her way down a staircase, escaping the party. “She’s throwing glass!”
Aside from Shah, 48, no other cast members seemed to bat an eye at Nguyen’s violent outburst toward Cosby.
“I’ve never gotten a glass thrown at me from no one and the fact that no one even cared is, like, too much,” a dejected Cosby said in a confessional. “Makes you wonder who are your friends and who’s not.”
As viewers will recall, Cosby came under fire this season for saying Nguyen — who is of Vietnamese descent — has “nice slanted eyes” and comparing Shah to a “Mexican thug.” (Cosby apologized for the latter comment.)
After bailing on the “Salt Lake City” Season 2 reunion to avoid addressing her offensive remarks and those “cult” claims, Cosby ousted herself from the hit Bravo reality show.
“This was the kiss of death for Mary,” an insider previously told Page Six. “She hardly has any alliances left in the cast, who hoped she would have shown up to the reunion to take accountability for her behavior and the allegations about her church.”
Meanwhile, Nguyen was fired after a succession of offensive Facebook posts — many which mocked the Black Lives Matter movement — surfaced in January.
“Everyone is so relieved that Jennie was fired,” an insider told us. “Absolutely nobody wanted to film with her or be associated with her after the social media drama.”

Jamal Edwards dead: YouTube pioneer and UK music trailblazer was 31
Jamal Edwards, a trailblazing figure on the British rap music scene and member of the British Empire (MBE), has died. He was 31.
The West London-born philanthropist and entrepreneur’s “sudden” passing from an undisclosed illness was confirmed by his mother, Brenda Edwards, host of the popular UK daytime show “Loose Women.”
Jamal, a YouTube sensation with more than 1 million followers and a billion-plus platform views, was considered a pioneer of the “grime” music genre in the UK and beyond.
“It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness,” his mourning mom said in a Twitter statement. “Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the center of our world.”
Brenda, 52, continued in her emotional post, “As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA and PHD.”
Jamal first earned recognition in 2006 as the founder of the only media platform SmokeyBarz TV (SBTV), which showcased emerging artists and helped launch the careers of Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Rita Ora and Skepta.
Edwards’ final Instagram post on Friday was 31st birthday tribute to his “brother” Sheeran. He caption a throwback snap of the pair flipping the bird in Marbella, Spain, as such: “Happy Birthday to the OG, Ed. Blessed to have you in my life brother. You know you’ve been mates a long time when you lose count on the years! Keep smashing it & inspiring us all G!”
The SBTV YouTube channel now has 1.2 million subscribers and nearly 1 billion video views.
“Everyone in my area was an MC and I thought ‘Alright if everyone is doing MCing what else can I do that’s around the music?'”Jamal recalled to BBC Radia 1Xtra in 2017. “I remember I was just sitting there and was thinking, ‘Why can’t I find these online?’ and if they were online it was just bad-quality versions, so I thought ‘Alright, cool, I’m going to try and film people in my area and upload it to YouTube’ — and from there it just started building and growing.”
As his viral success swelled, Edwards launched his philanthropic push as an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, a youth charity run by the Prince of Wales that supports young adults in launching their own companies, CNN reported.
In 2015, Prince William bestowed a then 24-year-old Jamal with his MBE for philanthropic work during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
As news of his death spread online, stars such as singer-actress Ora paid moving homage to the young but influential talent.
“My first ever interview was with you,” Ora, 31, captioned her Instagram tribute. “Jamal, Our endless talks on music and the belief you had in me and so many of us before we even believed in ourselves.’ I’m devastated. No words can describe how grateful I am to of been in your presence. Thank you for all you ever showed me. My heart goes out to @brendaedwardsglobal and the whole family. RIP.”
Man Violently Punches 4-Year-Old In Times Square In Broad Daylight
A man is facing charges after assaulting a 4-year-old child in broad daylight in the middle of Times Square, and the attack was caught on video.
Babacar Mbaye, 34, was charged with felony reckless assault, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest, according to police. He is already on supervised release stemming from other recent attacks.
The violent assault took place around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday during the busy Crossroads of the World section of Time Square. The footage obtained by the New York Post shows Mbaye punch the boy in the head, knocking him to the ground.
He then gets tackled by two women, one of them being the kid’s mother. The women detained the man until police officers came over. The child can be seen holding his head in the background.
When police intervened, Mbay allegedly kicked one of the officers in the leg as they placed him under arrest. “I drank a whole bottle of hand sanitizer. I shouldn’t have done this,” he said to police while in custody at Bellevue Hospital, according to prosecutors.
The Post reports that Mbay has a record dating back to 2009, including arrests for assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and DWI. He has three open misdemeanors for assaulting people, including two in the last month.
Thomas Kenniff, Mbay’s attorney, said he was “under the influence of an intoxicated, debilitating psychiatric episode.” He argued that his client was dancing and accidentally bumped into the child.
Judge Jay Weiner ordered him held on a $30,000 bond. Mbaye’s next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
