#NewMusic from Jhene Aiko ‘Wrap Me Up’
As the year winds down, Jhene Aiko gives fans plenty to look forward to for the new year, although she hasn’t let on whether that means the follow-up to her Grammy-nominated 2020 album, Chilombo, or more collaborations. For now, it’s enough to get cozy by the fire with her latest single, “Wrap Me Up.”
Aiko’s new single isn’t quite a traditional holiday song, but it has elements that allow it to fit into the overall spirit of the season, like jingling bells and tinkling piano keys. She also uses imagery that uses some of the hallmarks of the genre as she mentions gifts, mistletoe, and references to “Silent Night.” It’s a pretty, emotional song that highlights the love the holiday season should bring. “Wrap me all up with your love,” she sings. “All that I want, fill me up, fill me all up with your love.”
Although Jhene hadn’t released a new project in 2021, she remained relatively visible thanks to a series of collaborations with the likes of Ty Dolla Sign and Bryson Tiller (“By Yourself“), Swae Lee (“In The Dark“), and Moneybagg Yo (“One Of Dem Nights“). She also re-released her breakout mixtape Sailing Soul(s).

#HipHopNews: Tory Lanez Ordered To Stand Trial In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting
Tory Lanez will stand trial in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. During a preliminary hearing in L.A. on Tuesday, a judge upheld the assault charges against Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, and ordered him to return to court for arraignment in January.
Megan was shot following a dispute in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020. While testifying in court, LAPD Det. Ryan Stogner claims that Tory shouted “Dance bitch, dance!” and fired gunshots at the ground near Megan’s feet.
Stogner says that as soon as Tory fired the shots, she “immediately felt pain to her feet, observed blood, fell to the ground, and then crawled to an adjacent driveway of a residence.”
According to TMZ, Stogner also said that Megan told him Tory apologized and begged her not to tell, even offering money to keep her quiet because he was on probation.
Megan initially explained her injury by claiming she stepped on broken glass. In the wake of George Floyd, she feared cops would shoot Tory if she told them a Black man had shot her, something Megan has previously said.
A reporter for the Los Angeles Times says that Tory’s attorney appeared to hint that another person in the car, a friend of Megan’s, may have actually pulled the trigger.
A trial is now set to begin on Jan. 13. Tory is facing one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in a manner that caused great bodily injury, and one count of carrying a concealed, unregistered weapon. He has pled not guilty to the charges.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison.
Ex-Boston Red Sox Player David “Big Papi” Ortiz & Wife Tiffany Announce Ending 25-Year Marriage
Former Boston Red Sox player David “Big Papi” Ortiz and his wife of 25 years, Tiffany, have announced their divorce.
Tiffany Ortiz took to Instagram to inform her followers that their chapter together has come to a close. Her post read:
“Over the past 25 years, David and I have shared a beautiful adventure in love and partnership. We have made the decision to go into a new phase of our life journey together, not as a couple, but as friends and co-parents to our amazing children.”
The pair started dating in 1996, just one year before David Ortiz began playing for the Minnesota Twins. They later married in 2002.
Although the marriage managed to last two decades, they’ve had trouble in the past. David filed for divorce in 2013, telling MLB.com:
“There are some situations in life that work out for a period of time and at some point they don’t work out anymore and you have to move on. I’m moving on. She’s moving on. Hopefully everybody respects that.”
After one year apart, they were able to salvage their marriage. At the time, Tiffany said:
“We separated for a while. We did, but we missed each other terribly.”
Tiffany and David have two children together: a son, D’Angelo, 17, and a daughter, Alexandra, 20. David has one daughter, 25-year-old Jessica Ortiz from a previous relationship.
David Ortiz–who’s originally from the Dominican Republic–played for the Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball team from 2003 to 2016.
WNBA Star Candace Parker’s Been Married Two Years and Is Expecting A Baby With Anna Petrakova
Not only is Candace Parker winning on the court, she’s also celebrating some major things off the court as well. The two-time WNBA champ surprised fans when she shared on Instagram that she got married two years ago and is celebrating her anniversary today to fellow basketball player Anna Petrakova.
“2 years ago, I got to marry my best friend in front of our close family and friends. My heart could have exploded. I cried like a baby….,” Parker wrote. “To know me or you is to know our love. This journey hasn’t been easy. I am proud of us and what we have built and who we have grown to become both individually and together.”
The baller and sports analyst also showered Petrakova with praise for the way she loves Parker’s daughter, Lailaa, from her marriage to former NBA star Shelden Williams, and for being a safe space for the star.
“Thank you for always loving Lailaa as your own, being my calm, my support, my voice of reason, my laughs, my cuddles, my dance in the rain, my happy, my home… Thanks for constantly challenging me and telling me when I’m wrong 🙄. I LOVE YOU🐞 I appreciate you, I value you and what we have.”
In addition to that big news, she announced that they’re also expecting a child together.
“We’ve always dreamed of growing our family….it’s surreal that we now have a baby on the way! Lailaa is pumped to be a big sister!” she wrote. “You couldn’t be more beautiful! Glowing, while understanding that I have to constantly love, kiss, and talk to your belly AND yes… play Jay-Z for the baby (Goose knows “Song Cry” already by heart😜 !) I can’t wait to embark on this next chapter in life with you!”
As for Petrakova, her page is private, but she’s reportedly been sharing photos of their family recently. As mentioned, this is Parker’s second marriage. She was married to Williams in 2008 before they split in 2016. They welcomed daughter Lailaa in 2009.
We’re so excited for Parker and Petrakova — and also quite impressed that they could keep all this quiet for so long. Congratulations to the happy couple on their growing family!

‘Below Deck’ chief stew Heather Chase apologizes for using N-word
“Below Deck” chief stewardess Heather Chase apologized for saying the N-word in front of her black co-star Rayna Lindsey on Monday’s episode of the reality hit.
“I am sorry for the hurt my ignorance caused Rayna in tonight’s episode,” Chase posted in a statement on Monday. “While I apologized to Rayna throughout the season, I cannot express enough how truly remorseful I am.”
It continued, “Part of my responsibility as Chief Stewardess is to provide a welcoming, safe environment for the crew and I fell short. Over the past nine months since this episode was filmed, I have learned how my words and actions can affect others and I vow to do better in the future.”
During the episode, the crew went out for dinner and drinks, but after going to the bathroom together, Chase screamed the N-word in front of Lindsey.
The crew recounted the evening the next morning, and Chase initially denied saying the slur, but she apologized once Lindsey assured her that she did in fact say it.
“It’s okay, I still love you, I’m just telling you,” Lindsey initially told her.
But after the episode aired on Monday, Lindsey took to her Instagram Stories to address the situation and answer fan questions. Among her many responses, she criticized Bravo, Captain Lee Rosbach, and Chase’s reactions to the incident.
The deckhand explained that she’s “very disappointed” in Bravo for the way they handled the situation and “kept rewarding” Chase throughout the season.
She added that while she did “not really” have support from production, she “had a couple of producers” that were there for her.
As for Captain Lee, Lindsey claimed, “He knew … and just didn’t care to talk to [her].”
Lindsey also clarified that her time on the show and her friendship with Chase both began to worsen after the incident.
“It really impacts me going forward,” she wrote. “I start to become really discouraged and unhappy.”
She wrote in another Story on Tuesday, “We [Chase and herself] aren’t and have never been friends … I wish her nothing but the best though. She’s young and hopefully can learn from these mistakes.”
Reps for Bravo and Captain Lee Rosbach didn’t immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.
O.J. Simpson granted early release from parole, now 'a completely free man'
Retired American football player, broadcaster, actor, advertising spokesman, and
A Nevada parole board granted O.J. Simpson early release from his parole on Tuesday, citing good behavior.
The former Heisman Trophy winner, NFL running back and Hollywood actor "is a completely free man now,” his lawyer Malcolm LaVergne told the Associated Press.
Simpson, 74, served nine of a possible 33 years in prison after a 2008 conviction on 12 counts including felony armed robbery and kidnapping. Simpson led a group of five men that held memorabilia dealers at gunpoint at a Las Vegas hotel in 2007 in an effort to steal what Simpson claimed was his own memorabilia.
Simpson did not serve time after being acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1995. He was found liable in 1997 in a wrongful death civil lawsuit and was ordered to pay the Goldman and Brown families $33.5 million in damages. Goldman's family continues to fight in court to collect.
Simpson was freed from prison in 2017 and has remained on parole since. He was scheduled to remain on parole until February, but the Nevada Board of Parole granted him roughly three months of good behavior credits, according to Nevada State Police spokeswoman Kim Yoko Smith. Simpson did not speak with media Tuesday.

Damson Idris Named “Breakthrough” Entertainer Of 2021 By Associated Press
The ‘Snowfall’ star Damson Idris has been named “breakthrough entertainer of 2021”. The young actor transformed his real British speaking accent into a major kingpin character with a west coast accent in FX’s hit show Snowfall.
Idris made his presence felt in Hollywood by playing the role Franklin Saint, who is a young street-minded entrepreneur who was nurtured in an upper-class community, but dedicated to get into the drug game and be able to provide for the people around him. Through the success of the show, his popularity has grown exponentially over the past four seasons.
“Sometimes, I talk as if I’m already 90 years old and I’ve seen my career,” he said. “It’s so weird. I think in 40, 50, 60 years, people will talk about and refer to (the series) and be like ‘Oh man, I remember when he did that and look what he’s doing now.’ I think that’s a remarkable thing. I love the show for that.”
From that breakthrough role in Snowfall, Idris was provided other opportunities on different projects such as television shows “The Twilight Zone” and “Black Mirror” along with films including “Farming” and Netflix’s “Outside the Wire,” starring him with Anthony Mackie.
“Everyone you meet on the way up, you’re going to meet on the way down,” he said. “So just be nice to everyone. That’s something I’m learning and mastering today. I’m fortunate not only to be the lead of the show, but also be a young producer. That could come with a lot of ego and a big head. But if anything, I’m even nicer now to everyone. That’s something John taught me. He empowered people. That’s something I strive to do. I’m learning so much every day.”
“There are so many categories that correlate: From single fathers (and mothers), to poverty, to drugs to crime to police brutality to racism,” he said. “I definitely feel in the U.K. that there are similarities between Black British culture to African American culture. I feel like my upbringing assisted with me understanding and having empathy towards people of that lifestyle in South Central.”
Steph Curry breaks NBA's all-time three-point record
Steph Curry made history on Tuesday (Dec. 14) after breaking the NBA’s all-time three-point record. The Golden State Warriors star point guard surpassed previous record holder Ray Allen’s number of career three-pointers after landing No. 2,974. The historic basket was made during the first quarter of the Warriors’ game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Although Curry beat the record on his opponents’ court, the Knicks still stopped the game to celebrate his historic moment.
Allen also foresaw Curry’s achievement and applauded the 33-year-old on Instagram.
“As I look back on the day when I passed [Reggie Miller] to be the all time leader in the [NBA] in 3 pointers, I had the opportunity to not only share that stage with my teammates and the great Reggie Miller but I also had the opportunity to share it with the late, great [Kobe Bryant],” he wrote. “I will remember that night forever and so tonight will be just as memorable for [Steph Curry] as he passes me on the list and oh what a night it will be! All I ask is, can y’all save me a seat please, Spike didn’t return my calls!”
Curry went into Tuesday’s game only two three-pointers away from breaking Allen’s record. According to CBS Sports, the seven-time NBA All-Star’s potential to make history caused a spike in game prices. The game’s get-in ticket, priced at $565, was reportedly the most expensive get-in price in Madison Square Garden history.
Back in October, when Curry was 139 three-pointers away from making history, he said breaking Allen’s record would be “mind-boggling.”
“It’s always been surreal to even go back in time and think about those ambitious goals I had, my love for just shooting the basketball has always been a part of me as a basketball player,” he told NBC Sports at the time. “Something that I’ve worked on, so to join that club is mind-boggling.”
“I’ll have some emotions for sure, when it happens,” he added.

Flavor Flav in Car Accident with Falling Boulder – ‘Emotionally Shaken Up’ Says Rep
*Let’s keep #FlavorFlav in our prayers. He was involved in a near-fatal car accident while driving today. According to @people Flav was on the road from Las Vegas to Los Angeles when rain caused a boulder to fall down a cliffside and land on the side of his car.
The cliffside was in La Tuna Canyon, and once the boulder hit the side of his car, the impact caused Flav to lose control briefly. However, he was able to get to the other side of the road safely. Reports say another motorist saw the accident and pulled over to ensure the rapper was safe.
A representative for Flav says if he had been driving just a few feet in a different direction, the incident might have killed him. The rep also stated Flav is doing okay.
“Thank God he survived and is okay, although a bit emotionally shaken up,” said the rep. We’re wishing him a speedy recovery.
‘Fast & Furious 10’ Moves Release Date to May 2023
Universal is taking advantage of the space left by Dom Toretto and company and will slot an untitled animated film into that berth. It moves from the previously announced March 24, 2023 slot. No details yet on that one beyond that its from the studio behind “Shrek” and that it promises to be an event (we’ll be the judge of that).

The most recent “Fast & Furious” film, “F9” aka “F9: The Fast Saga” also known as “Fast & Furious 9” opened in theaters last summer. It grossed $726 million globally, an impressive figure that was less than other films in the series primarily because COVID-19 has depressed ticket sales. The series has become one of Universal’s most enduring and valuable franchises, spawning sequels and spinoffs since the first installment opened two decades ago.
Justin Lin, the director of the ninth film in the series as well as several previous installments, returns behind the camera. The tenth entry will bring back Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and other long-standing members of the “Fast” family. Cars will likely crash, odometers will reach their maximum setting, quips will be made and Vin Diesel will almost invariably rhapsodize about the importance of family.
Kim Kardashian Denies Blackfishing Allegations, Addresses Matching Hair With North

via: AceShowbiz “I would never do anything to appropriate any culture,” Kim shared. “But I have in the past got blacklash from putting my hair in braids and I understand that.”
The estranged wife of Kanye West revealed that a lot of time, she sported the hairstyle because of her daughter North as the young girl requested to have “matching hair” with her. “I’ve had these conversation with her [North] that are like, ‘Hey, maybe this hairstyle would be better on you and not on me.’ But I also want her to feel that I can do a hairstyle with her and not make it that big of deal either if that’s something that she’s really asking for and really wants,” she explained.
The TV star, who just passed bar exam after in her fourth attempt, admitted that she’s “learned and grown” over the years to “communicate” with her kids about their respective backgrounds. “I’ve tried to pass that culture of learning onto my kids too, but then there’s also a history of braiding hair in Armenia and people forget that I am Armenia as well,” the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alum shared.
Kim landed in hot water for sporting braided hairstyles on multiple occasions. That included the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards and a photo shoot which she shared on her Instagram account in 2020.
In addition, the girlfriend of “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson faced criticism from fans and religious leaders for wearing Hindu “Om” earrings in a KKW Beauty photo shoot. “Take those earrings off bestie my religion ain’t no aesthetic <3," one person said. meanwhile, another added, "you're gonna get cancelled for this one kim." The President of the Universal society of Hinduism, Rajan Zed, also demanded that the reality star apoligizes. In a statement, he stated that the jewelry was "highly inappropriate" and "not meant to be used a fashion statement or become a tool for sexy fashion."
Kim was also under fire in 2018 when she wore her then-blonde hair in braids, and called them “Bo Derek braids.” The SKIMS founder later told Bustle that she “obviously” knew the hairstyle was actually called Furlani braids.
Former NFL Player Phillip Adams Had ‘Unusually Severe’ CTE When He Killed Six People and Took His Own Life
Doctors have confirmed that former NFL player Phillip Adams, who killed six people before killing himself, had severe CTE.
Dr. Ann McKee, a neuropathologist and expert on neurodegenerative diseases at Boston University, studied Adams’ brain after his death. She found that two decades of playing football caused him to have severe CTE in both frontal lobes of his brain.
On April 7th, Adams shot six people to death at a Rock Hill, South Carolina home before killing himself the next day. Before the tragedy unfolded, Adams complained of severe pain, memory loss, and difficulty sleeping. His family says that he tried countless times to get help from the NFL but was denied because he had trouble remembering things about his condition and struggled to complete simple tasks such as traveling to the doctor’s office.
The San Francisco 49ers drafted the 33-year-old in 2010. He also played for the New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, and Atlanta Falcons until 2015. Before his NFL career, he played college football for the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
During her examination, McKee compared Adams’ CTE pathology to that of deceased NFL player Aaron Hernandez, who was found to have Stage 2 CTE after his 2017 death. She found distinct differences that made Adams’ condition more critical than Hernandez’s.
“It was different in that it was unusually severe in both frontal lobes,” she explained.
In addition to headaches and memory loss, McKee says Stage 2 CTE can cause aggression, impulsivity, depression, paranoia, anxiety, and “homicidal behavior.”
The NFL said that they “appreciate the work done by Dr. McKee” and are “committed to supporting scientific research into CTE.”
