Jennifer Hudson for InStyle US - August 2021!
Jennifer Hudson graces the cover of InStyle’s August issue. She named her dog Oscar and then won one. She manifested a mansion and then she bought one. Now, she’s stepping into Aretha Franklin’s shoes for the role of a lifetime.

On meeting Aretha Franklin: “I remember when we first sat down, ooh, I was terrified to be at the table,” Hudson says, laughing, reminiscing about her initial conversations with Franklin. “Aretha said, ‘What? Are you shy or something?’ I said, ‘Well, I am talking to the Queen of Soul!'” Hudson would shortly find out that Franklin didn’t have a script finalized yet — that would come over a decade later — but what she received instead was 15 years of conversations, counsel, and advice from a woman she had idolized since her youth. “She said, ‘Jennifer, you’re going to do this,'” Hudson recalls. “I’m like, ‘Well, I’ll do it if she says I can do it, if she thinks I can.’ That’s Ms. Franklin!”
On acting and relating to Aretha’s loss: “As an actor, you have to go to your own real places,” Hudson reflects. “I don’t think I would have been able to dig that deep or connect in a way had I not been through things myself.” “In that moment, it clicked with me like, ‘Is this what she saw in me?’ Because we parallel in so many ways through our life stories and the things we’ve been through and experienced. I know, as a person who has suffered a lot of loss, I don’t like having to talk to people who haven’t lost anything,”
On Black Lives Matter Movement: “Going back in time like that and to fast-forward to now,” she muses. “Oh my god, it’s still the same today. This battle is an ongoing thing.” For Hudson, exploring that part of Franklin’s life, from her relationship with Martin Luther King Jr. “Too often we’re afraid to speak up because we’re afraid of retaliation,” Hudson points out. “To see someone like her use her platform to be a voice encourages me.”

#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Explains Why She Believes Porsha Williams Unfollowed Her
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams shocked a lot of people with her engagement news. She’s currently engaged to Simon Guobadia. And he is Falynn Guobadia’s estranged husband. Falynn appeared on the recent season of RHOA. She was introduced as Porsha’s friend. In Falynn’s first scene, Porsha came to the house and swam in the pool. Falynn even gushed over Porsha’s activism.

Since making the announcement, Porsha has told her supporters that she was never friends with Falynn. Some other reality stars have even defended Porsha. Da Brat accused Falynn of cheating on Simon. And she slammed Falynn on “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.” Then “Married to Medicine” star Quad Webb supported the engagement. She also said Falynn and Porsha were not friends.

Well, Kenya Moore is the only other “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star who’s been vocal about the situation. And she thinks that it just validates the claims she’s made over the years in which she said Porsha is a “snake.” While shade from Kenya was probably expected by Porsha, it’s Cynthia Bailey she unfollowed recently.

Cynthia explained why she thinks Porsha may be upset with her too during an interview.
Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams have had an interesting friendship. At one point, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars nearly came to blows. But they have come a long way since then. Cynthia was even someone Porsha wanted to help her make a voting PSA for the Georgia senate run-off elections. However, since announcing her engagement, Porsha has unfollowed Cynthia on Instagram.

During a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Cynthia opened up about why she believes Porsha unfollowed her.

Cynthia said, “I kind of stayed mum on the whole social media part of it when she made her announcement, and I don’t know, maybe my silence kind of made her feel some kind of way.” She continued, ” I just felt like, ‘You know what, I’m going to sit this one out until it just plays out and I get to see what happens.'”

#HipHopNews: Official DMX Mural Goes Up In Yonkers Hometown!
YONKERS, NY – Earl “DMX” Simmons passed away at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York from a cocaine-induced heart attack on April 9, leaving behind a legacy that will carry on forever. As tributes continue to erupt around the globe, an artist descended on DMX’s hometown of Yonkers, New York to erect a giant mural in his honor.

Floyd Simmons (no relation) started working on the massive tribute in May and will unveil it to the public on Tuesday (July 13). It’s located on a wall near the Calcagno Homes on School Street, the same public housing where DMX once lived.

The mural was expected to be finished weeks ago, but a series of unfortunate events stalled its progress. Not only did Yonkers experience a unprecedented heat wave and several thunderstorms, Simmons also broke his pinky finger in the middle of production after it got jammed between a cherry picker and the wall.
The mural stands at 35 x 22 feet high and features a stoic rendition of DMX as well as a verse from the 1998 It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot track “Look Thru My Eyes” in which he mentions School Street.
“The bark is for real, when you see that spark it’ll kill,” he raps. “Be popping, robbing and chill, take it over there bark wit’ it/From YO to Cali to Baltimore back to New York wit’ it/Come through flying, up 129/Up the School Street ’cause I come through mine.”

In an Instagram post dated May 29, Simmons revealed painting DMX’s signature chains was his favorite part.

“#dmxmurals. #homeofthebrave Having fun out here and I hope folks are as well,” he wrote in the caption. “I enjoy sometimes when folks stop and tell me the areas they love the most… This is one of my favorite parts and here it is… happens to be the DOG COLLAR, DOG CHAIN or PLATINUM DOG CHAIN. 55 School St, Yonkers NY ‘we all here baby’ @desi123love @only_organic1left @melocorp. Thanks for accepting me back again. There is no way but BIG THANKS gr8full I will always be.”

Famous Chef Darius ‘Cooks’ Williams Addresses Claims He Had A Fraudulent Credit Repair Agency & Physically Assaulted An Employee!
Darius ‘Cooks’ Williams is facing lots of drama outside of the kitchen.
The popular chef has been accused of stealing, taking part in unlawful credit repair behavior, bullying Black women, and physically assaulting an employee. The allegations became so strong that it birthed the hashtag #DariusCrooks on social media.

Angela “The Kitchenista” Davis is just one of Darius Williams’ fellow celebrity chefs that have called him out online. She shared stories from a social media user who said Darius Williams took $500 from her account for a credit repair service and went MIA when she asked for a refund.
Another social media user wrote,
“He definitely scammed me and is still trying to charge me for a failed business of his. After taking the proper procedures to cancel the affiliation Carolina Pound Cakes is still trying to charge me monthly.@bbb_us please shut this man down!!”

The Kitchenista even made claims of her own and said Williams has bullied her and used her trademarked name for profit. He reportedly admitted that he did to be spiteful.

See more claims against him via The Kitchenista below.
On top of the allegations, Williams’ Soul Crab Atlanta, Soul Crab Chicago, and Greens and Gravy in Atlanta suddenly closed last year. He was also connected to an illegal credit repair company in Georgia where he was ordered to pay a settlement of $145, 750.

He told Black Enterprise,
“I paid the 140, it’s over, everything is cool.”
Still, he seemingly defended the credit repair program and added,

“I think they’re pulling from that saying oh, he’s a scammer. But it’s like no, the people who were on the roster, their credit scores increased.”
He added,
“I am not a bully. I think what’s happening is, it’s the people who may not be familiar with my brand because some of the hate mail I’m getting… you know, stop abusing Black women, keep your hands off Black women…and I’m openly gay but I don’t come across as gay.”

“So, my speech, my mannerisms look to be that of a straight man. So if you’re not familiar with me, and you just see my content, you would automatically assume, Black man hitting (on) a Black woman. In reality, I’m openly gay. I talk about sex and a lot of stuff on my Instagram. I talk about dating. I talk about things women want to discuss. I’m like their best friend.”

He also addressed claims from a former employee, Kiara Ross, who alleged he physically assaulted her.
Williams said, “I didn’t know her. My first time ever meeting her or seeing her in life was that particular Friday when I walked into the restaurant and when I walked in, she was very irate and she said, where’s my m*****f****** check.'”

He pointed out he had three restaurants, 110 staff members, and didn’t know of any problems with Ross before she confronted him. He said he later discovered she didn’t finish her onboarding process.
“I am not running the day-to-day of the restaurant. I’m doing more strategy, more CEO work so I had managers who would hire all of the employees. And so we have an electronic payroll system called Gusto and Kiara never completed her onboarding.”

He explained that he called police, and they told Ross not to re-enter the restaurant. She was arrested after she allegedly didn’t comply with the order.
“They put her in handcuffs, put her in a car and took her away. What she said to the officer was, ‘he put his m*****f******* hands on me.’ So he (the officer) was like, did you? And I was like I actually don’t know because it all happened so fast so let’s go look at the camera, let’s see what I did.”

He said after looking at footage of the incident,
“So I did put my hands on her but I put both hands on her shoulders to kinda turn her so we could go discuss this outside. So the extent of the quote-unquote abuse is basically me putting two hands on her shoulders so that we could go outside.”

As for claims he doesn’t provide refunds, he said:
“$64,000 in refunds happened in 2021. When people say ‘you don’t give refunds,’ I don’t know where the rumors are coming from because all my people who I’m live with every day on Instagram say yeah he took care of me and I’m straight.’”

What are your thoughts on what Darius “Cooks” Williams had to say?

Halle Bailey Shares Photo Of Herself As Ariel In Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid’!
Halle Bailey’s rendition of Ariel is finally a part of our world. The “Grown-ish” actor decided to celebrate the wrapping of Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid” by posting a teasy, silhouetted image of herself as Ariel — fins and all — on Instagram Monday.
Bailey talks in the post’s caption about being involved in the film from ages 18 to 21 and the challenges of working on the movie during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory,” she wrote. “It has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt/ loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as i’ve reached the end.”

Bailey’s casting as Ariel was announced in 2019. And although many fans were excited about a Black woman tackling the role of the beloved mermaid, Bailey experienced an onslaught of racism as well.
Some fans illogically pointed to the fact that Ariel was a white redhead in Disney’s 1989 animated film, even though the story is a fantasy to begin with. Others felt emboldened to criticize Bailey’s casting because the original telling of “The Little Mermaid” (or “Den lille Havfrue”) was written by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, and a bronze statue inspired by the fairy tale stands in Copenhagen.

The hashtag #NotMyAriel even trended on Twitter as people decried Bailey’s casting.

Despite the hate, Bailey responded to the criticism with the poise of a Disney princess.
“I feel like I’m dreaming, and I’m just grateful,” she said in 2019 when her casting was first announced. “I don’t pay attention to the negativity. I just feel like this role was something bigger than me and greater, and it’s going to be beautiful.”
The Chloe x Halle singer also noted in her Instagram post Monday that the experience made her “stronger” and that she felt enormous pride in the project.
“I cannot wait for time to speed up so you all can watch this film because it was made with so much love (plus blood sweat and tears),” she wrote.
She also gave special shoutouts to some of her co-stars like Jonah Hauer-King, who plays Ariel’s romantic interest, Prince Eric, and Jacob Tremblay, who voices Flounder. Bailey told Tremblay that she was “so proud” of him, and said that Hauer-King would “be my friend for infinite lifetimes.”

She also thanked her bigger-name co-stars like Awkwafina (Scuttle), Melissa McCarthy (Ursula), Javier Bardem (King Triton) and Daveed Diggs (Sebastian) for being “welcoming and open to little old me.”

Former Nickelodeon and Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide star Lindsey Shaw announced she’s taking a break from social media after she experienced backlash from a TikTok that exposed her mocking Black creators.

via Complex:
Shaw took to Instagram teary-eyed after receiving major hate in her inbox for the above TikTok of her mimicking a popular new TikTok trend.
“I just have to say right now that the hate in my inbox is not OK, OK?” Shaw said in her Instagram story. “I did not mean anything in any kind of way. I am learning every day as I think everybody is. And this kind of hate just needs to evaporate from the planet no matter who it’s directed toward. Crocodile tears, no dude! This is my soul out there.”

Shaw continued by saying that she needs to step away from social media for her own mental health.
“I think for my own mental health, I need to take a step back from social media. I’m not here to offend or belittle anybody at all. I thought that the Millennial/Gen Z thing was a thing on TikTok. The intention wasn’t that serious, y’all.”
Shaw’s Ned’s Declassified co-star Devon Werkheiser also took to TikTok to voice his opinion on his friend’s actions and exit from social media.

Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds and wife Nicole ending marriage after 7 years
Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and wife Nicole Patenburg are calling it quits on their seven-year marriage.
The pair appear to be splitting amicably, as they released a joint statement announcing their split.

“After much thought and with great sadness, we have decided to end our marriage. We continue to care and have respect for one another and share eternal love for our daughter and her well-being,” the couple told TMZ on Tuesday.

“We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family.”

The couple tied the knot in front of celebrity guests including Oprah Winfrey and Carole B. Sager.
This was the second marriage for the music superstar. Edmonds, 62, was married to Tracey Edmonds from 1992 to 2005. When Tracey, now 54, filed for divorce with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the split.

Gayle King Says She Won't Allow Unvaccinated Family Members to Attend Thanksgiving This Year!
Gayle King is a strong proponent of COVID-19 vaccinations. And she isn't going to make any exceptions to her pro-vaccine stance for unvaccinated loved ones come the holidays, she shared on CBS This Morning.
King talked about her frustrations with unvaccinated family members while conducting an interview with Anthony Fauci, M.D., director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “Dr. Fauci, I don't know how many more times you can say to people, 'Listen, it will save your life,'” King said during an exchange about the urgent push to get more Americans vaccinated—amid the rise of the delta variant and recent uptick in hospitalizations and deaths among unvaccinated people.

King revealed that she is laying down the law with family members who will not get vaccinated, and plans to forbid them from joining her for the Thanksgiving holiday this year. “I have this problem with some members of my own family, which I'm now going to ban for Thanksgiving vacation,” King said. "That's how strongly I'm taking what you're saying."

Many Americans are likely facing a similar situation, given the large number of unvaccinated people in the U.S. right now. About 56% of people over age 12 are fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And while survey results vary, data indicates a significant portion of those who are not vaccinated do not plan to get vaccinated. (According to a June Gallup poll, 24% of all adults in the U.S. say they are not going to get vaccinated, for instance.)

Engaging with the vaccine-hesitant people in your life can be tough and frustrating. And while every conversation will look different, there are some basic tips that can make your efforts more productive—or at least go more smoothly. Generally speaking, vaccine activists and vaccine-hesitancy experts recommend approaching the conversation as a gentle and nonjudgemental inquiry into the person's perspective, rather than an adversarial attempt to persuade them.

Because people often base decisions about health on emotions, start the conversation from a place of emotional connection and trust (explicitly stated upfront if need be). Instead of assuming you know the person's specific concerns and beliefs, ask them open-ended questions to gather information. Listen to what they say with empathy, reserve judgment, and respond by mirroring their concerns. If you'd like to share information with them, ask if it's okay first and then refer them to evidence-based sources.

'The Talk': Sharon Osbourne Reportedly Replaced by Jerry O’Connell!
There's been much speculation about who might replace Sharon Osbourne on The Talk. Osbourne departed the program earlier this year after an on-air spat with Sheryl Underwood over Piers Morgan's criticism of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey. As for who will replace Osbourne, The Wrap reported on Monday that Jerry O'Connell is nearing a deal to fill that vacated slot.

A source told The Wrap that O'Connell has been in the midst of negotiations to appear on The Talk full-time since May. The actor has frequently been a guest host on the program. He would be the first full-time male co-host in the show's history. The current panel includes Underwood, Amanda Kloots, and Elaine Welteroth. Carrie Ann Inaba is also a co-host on the program, but she has taken a leave of absence. CBS declined to comment on The Wrap's report about O'Connell potentially joining The Talk.

Osbourne's on-air drama with Underwood took place on the March 10 episode. In the episode, Osbourne defended Morgan, who criticized Harry and Markle's decision to speak out against the royal family (during their interview with Winfrey, Markle even shared that she experienced suicidal thoughts when she was a full-time working member of the family). There were some, including Underwood, who thought that Morgan's criticism was racially motivated (Markle is biracial), which led to Osbourne saying that she felt like she was "about to be put in the electric chair" for having a friend that some believe to be racist.

Osbourne later apologized for her remarks. She initially told her followers on social media that she felt “panicked, felt blindsided, got defensive & allowed my fear & horror of being accused of being racist take over.” (Osbourne has since criticized The Talk for how the situation played out, calling it the "biggest set up ever" during an interview with Entertainment Tonight). The argument, and reports about some of Osbourne's other alleged conduct on The Talk, prompted CBS to launch an internal investigation. A few weeks after the events took place, Osbourne exited The Talk.

“The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace,” CBS said in a statement about their investigation. “We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts. At the same time, we acknowledge the Network and Studio teams, as well as the showrunners, are accountable for what happened during that broadcast as it was clear the co-hosts were not properly prepared by the staff for a complex and sensitive discussion involving race.” Disclosure: PopCulture is owned by ViacomCBS Streaming, a division of ViacomCBS.

Cardi B defends buying 3-year-old daughter $150,000 necklace!
Cardi B loves spoiling her daughter. Over the weekend, the 28-year-old rapper and her husband, fellow rapper Offset, celebrated daughter Kulture's 3rd birthday. The proud parents shared images to social media from the little one's lavish birthday party, including those of luxurious gifts, a horse-drawn carriage, a party greeter dressed as Princess Tiana of Disney's The Princess and the Frog, a fairytale-themed cake and other delights.

On the night of the big event, Offset gifted Kulture a $250,000 watch from the luxury brand Richard Millie, and on Sunday, Cardi shared a video of Kulture's reaction to the $150,000 diamond charm necklace by Elliot Eliantte.

"Her daddy out did me but I still got my baby nice. Thank you @eliantte for my baby charm necklace," she captioned the post that showed her daughter beaming with excitement.
Celebrity friends and fans who were in awe of the over-the-top necklace took to the comments with fun jokes and praise.

"Beautiful," singer Keyshia Cole said.
"Love," reality TV personality Tanisha Thomas added
"Kulture got my whole tuition around her neck," one fan wrote.

"No better feeling than seeing your child smile," another noted, while another declared, "Kulture is being treated like a true queen."
Others, though, questioned why the "Up" rapper would buy something so extravagant for such a young child.

"That’s sweet but kids don’t care about that kind of stuff," noted someone, with another adding, "I Love It . But Shee So Young Save Some stuff for when she grow up." Quipped someone else, "I have yet to see a toy for that baby."
The negative comments were so numerous on some platforms that Cardi, who revealed last month that she is expecting her second child, felt the need to address them on Twitter. Responding to a now deleted tweet criticizing her for buying her daughter the expensive charm necklace, she tweeted, "When your kid want ice cream for dinner do you give them ice cream for dinner? My baby is overly spoiled wit toys & super educated. If mommy & daddy fly then so is my kids. F**k I look like being fly a** f**k and my kid not."

In another tweet she added, "Yes why not ? Princess parties ,unlimited toys , vacations and Pools my kid loves the pool and I went to the pool like 5 times in my childhood. Different flavor cereal not just Raisin Bran."
She also shared tweets by fans defending her, including one that showed several photos of Kulture playing with toys.

This is not the first time Cardi and Offset have made headlines for the extravagant gifts for their daughter. Just last year, the parents faced criticism after Offset gifted the then 2-year-old with an $8,000 pink Birkin bag. He shared the toddler's reaction to the gift on Instagram.

"Late is better then never I Birkin my baby," he captioned the video of the belated birthday gift that matched the pink fairy dress and wings Kulture was wearing.
Critics noted that she seemed unimpressed with the expensive gift after putting it down after only briefly holding it.

"Offset bough Kulter a Birkin and she looked at him like okay but where's the toys," someone tweeted.
Cardi went on to defend her husband in her Instagram stories saying, "when celebrities buy their kids jewelry and designer s**t, people be like, 'Kids don't care about that. They only care about toys and candy.' Yeah, they only care about toys and candy, but the thing is the kids also go outside. Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places. Celebrity kids, they go do red carpets. If I'm fly and Daddy's fly, then so is the kid. If I'm wearing Cha-nay-nay, my kid's having the same-same, you know what I'm saying?"

She added, "It's not up to what the kids like. If it was the kids, they'd be outside in diapers. Because if I was looking like a bad b**ch, expensive b**ch and I have my kid looking like a bum bum, then y'all would be talking s**t. So I'm not mad that Daddy bought baby a Birkin. She's gonna match Mommy."

Civil Rights Activist Cornel West Resigns From Harvard, Says School Is Racist!
Philosopher and activist Dr Cornel West has resigned from his position as a professor at Harvard University.  He wrote a letter that puts the university on blast for the mistreatment of him and other Black faculty members.

Cornel sent in a letter to the school last month, to explain his resignation. He also published the letter on Twitter Monday night. The activist states the school rearranged his classes so that all courses taught by the first-ever Black graduate of Princeton’s doctorate philosophy program would be categorized in the box of “Afro-American religious studies,” per Independent.co.uk
The Philosopher stated “This is my candid letter of resignation to my Harvard Dean. I try to tell the unvarnished truth about the decadence in our market-driven universities! Let us bear witness against this spiritual rot!”
In his letter, Dr West wrote that Harvard’s administration displayed an “intellectual and spiritual bankruptcy of deep depths” at the university.

“With a few glorious and glaring exceptions, the shadow of Jim Crow was cast in its new glittering form expressed in the language of superficial diversity,” wrote by, Dr West.

Sacha Baron Cohen Beats Roy Moore’s $95M ‘Who Is America?’ Defamation Suit!
It looks like Sacha Baron Cohen is getting the last laugh over failed Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore. After almost three years of legal dogfighting between the savvy Who Is America? frontman and the scandal-plagued Moore, a federal judge Tuesday has put the kibosh on the latter’s $95 million defamation lawsuit.

“Defendants have moved for summary judgment, arguing that Plaintiffs’ claims are barred by both a waiver clause in the agreement that Judge Moore signed prior to the interview and also by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,” said U.S. District Court Judge John P. Cronan in an opinion (read it here) released on Emmy nominations morning.

After having appeared on the third episode of the 2018 Showtime satire, the former Alabama state judicial official proclaimed he had been hoodwinked into going before the cameras, suing for some pretty big bucks.

To be specific, Moore, who faced an avalanche of allegations of sexual misconduct with minors during his unsuccessful 2017 Senate bid, alleged in his initial September 2018 filing that his signature on a release “was obtained through fraud” and therefore “void and inoperative.” Moore also made it pretty obvious that he was not at all amused by the self-described pedophile detecting instrument that a disguised Cohen kept moving his way to louder beeps in the interview.

Citing the same release the Larry Klayman-represented Moore had in fact signed, the Borat star disagreed with the contract interpretation. Following a dust-up over jurisdiction, the matter went from D.C. District Court to New York federal court — and that’s where it ended today, kind of.

“The Court agrees that Judge Moore’s claims are barred by the unambiguous contractual language, which precludes the very causes of action he now brings,” Cronan wrote in the 26-page decision against Moore and his co-plaintiff spouse. “Although Kayla Moore was not a signatory to that contract, her claims are barred by the First Amendment. Accordingly, Defendants’ motion is granted in its entirety.”

The Moores have already filed paperwork stating that they will appeal, so this may go on – or not
Regardless, noting the larger context of Who Is America? and other segments with former VP Dick Cheney and more, Judge Cronan added that “it is simply inconceivable that the Program’s audience would have found a segment with Judge Moore activating a supposed pedophile-detecting wand to be grounded in any factual basis.” He went on to say: “Given the satirical nature of that segment and the context in which it was presented, no reasonable viewer would have interpreted Cohen’s conduct during the interview as asserting factual statements concerning Judge Moore.”

Or, coming one day after Baron Cohen himself sued a cannabis company for unlawful use of his image, as Borat Sagdiyev would say: “High five!”

Drake Bell Gets Probation in Child Endangerment Case; Must Register as a Sex Offender!
The legal troubles for Drake Bell have come to an end with a judge sentencing him to two years of probation and sex offender registration.
The former Nickelodeon star learned his fate on Monday from an Ohio judge, who also sentenced him to 200 hours of community service.

On June 23rd, the 34-year-old pleaded guilty to felony attempted child endangerment and a misdemeanor charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. The charges stemmed from the “Drake & Josh” star grooming a 12-year-old until she turned 15, when he began sending her sexually explicit messages. In 2017, while attending his concert, the victim claims that Bell tried to get her to perform a sex act backstage and inside a hotel room.

The now 19-year-old victim, who says she was one of the series biggest fans, claimed that she would have done anything for Bell at the time, calling him a “pedophile” and a “coward.” During the sentencing, she vowed to reveal all of the “crimes he has committed” against her.

In his statement read during sentencing, Bell accepted the verdict and apologized to the victim, saying that he did not mean to hurt her. He is also banned from having any contact with the victim.
