POSE Star Angel B. Curiel For Attitude Magazine!
The 25-year-old actor reflects on the importance of "showing up" for the trans community in the Attitude Summer issue.
Pose star Angel Bismark Curiel opens up about being an ally to the transgender community, and how his real-life relationship with Janet Mock, the show’s director and executive producer and all-round TV trans trailblazer, informed his on-screen romance.

As the ground-breaking LGBTQ+ drama, set inside the heart of New York’s ballroom scene in the 80s and 90s, draws to a close – no, you’re crying! – Angel reflects on how much he has learned from playing fan favourite Lil Papi, and admits that he knew “zero per cent” about this chapter in queer history before taking on the role.
“I was clueless. I grew up in a very cis, very heteronormative life. The only experience or encounters I had with trans, or queer people was always from afar,” the Afro-Dominican star explains in the  Attitude Summer issue, out now to download and to order globally.
“I’m very grateful to have been able to come on this show and to be given the opportunity to get to know some of the most important people in my life right now.”
25-year-old Curiel – who considers his co-stars, including Mj Rodriguez (aka Blanca), Indya Moore (Angel) and Billy Porter (Pray Tell), to be family – says he discovered “the importance of showing up.”
“I realised that it’s not enough to hold space and be comfortable with trans and queer people, but to make sure that when [I’m] holding space with cisgender, heterosexual folks outside of these spaces that I’m still making sure that there’s no toxicity or any harmful situations that arise, because I know how beautiful and safe this space is," he continues.

Angel, who grew up in Liberty City, Miami, notes that he stepped up to the plate to educate his own friends: “I very much put it all out on the table and say, ‘All right, y’all, we gotta have a conversation, let’s talk, ask questions and I’ll do my best to answer them, and we can go from there. I don’t have all the answers, but I can share what I know.'”
When an uncomfortable situation with an “extremely transphobic” driver arose on a studio set – a different one to Pose – the 25-year-old didn’t hesitate to act, either.
“I knew that this was a make-it-or-break-it moment, this was do or die, you had to check this. It’s because of gentlemen like this that trans women end up dead; it’s because of that remark you just said that trans women end up dead,” he recalls.
“I had to hold space with his boss. I had to hold space with him. I had to hold space with my boss, because that was the only way we were gonna say, ‘Hey, it doesn’t matter what show I’m on. It doesn’t matter if I’m Lil Papi on Pose or not, this s**t is not OK and here’s why it’s not OK, and how are we going to fix it? What are we going to do to make sure this gentleman knows this is not OK?’”

As Pose sashays into its third and final season – due to air in the UK later this year – Angel stresses how “honoured” he is to be a part of one of the series’ most touching and progressive storylines, between Lil Papi and trans model, Angel, played by Moore; after all, a love story between a straight guy and a trans woman is rarely told on television.
“[We’ve] given a love letter to trans women around the world that, hey, love doesn’t have to be this thing in the shadows; it can be this really beautiful thing that the world can embrace, and the world can see,” he beams.
Angel adds that his relationship with Mock, 38, "one hundred per cent" informed his performance.
“I came home to this amazing Black trans woman who was so open and so vulnerable on so many levels, and so willing to share her experiences and open herself up to me so that I can really, really see her in all her emotions," he reflects.

“All that ever did was make me want to take better care and more care of the Black trans women on set, because I had this amazing woman that I want to love on, that I want to take care of, that I want to see grow and see prosper and keep protected and safe in this world that often does not take care of and protect Black trans women.”

#RHOA: Falynn Guobadia Says Michael Costello Killed My Modeling Career!
Michael Costello is once again under fire — this time from a “Real Housewife.”
The fashion designer made news on Monday when he alleged that Chrissy Teigen and her stylist, Monica Rose, bullied and blacklisted him in the industry in 2014, leaving him with “deep, unhealed trauma” and even suicidal thoughts.
Then, on Tuesday, pop star Leona Lewis claimed that Costello “humiliated” and “deeply hurt” her at a fashion show that same year, when he allegedly refused to dress her due to her size.

And on Thursday, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Falynn Guobadia came forward to claim that the “Project Runway” designer, 38, made her feel “uncomfortable and inadequate” when she was a young model.
“[Because] of this traumatic experience, unfortunately, it was the end of my pursuit to become a fashion model,” she wrote.
Guobadia said that she auditioned for Costello’s fashion show at LA Fashion Week when she was 23 years old, and was cast after the designer complimented her on her body and her runway walk.
But when she showed up on the day of the event, having bought the underwear Costello’s team requested, Guobadia alleged that she was suddenly shut out of the show.
“I see Michael and his sister talking in a corner and looking at me with this look on their faces as if I was the scum of the Earth,” she wrote. “Then, in front of all of the models and his team, they come over to me and say, ‘Someone was supposed to call you. We don’t need you for the show and have nothing for you to wear.'”

Continued the “RHOA” star, “All of the models gasped and covered their faces. I was embarrassed and ashamed. I ran outside and cried for two hours. I never auditioned to model again.”

Costello’s team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

President Biden’s Dog Champ Dies 'Peacefully At Home!
Members of President Joe Biden's family are mourning the loss of their German shepherd, Champ, who died "peacefully at home," the president and first lady said in a statement Saturday.
"He was our constant, cherished companion during the last 13 years and was adored by the entire Biden family," Biden and first lady Jill Biden said.

"Even as Champ’s strength waned in his last months, when we came into a room, he would immediately pull himself up, his tail always wagging, and nuzzle us for an ear scratch or a belly rub. Wherever we were, he wanted to be, and everything was instantly better when he was next to us," they said. "He loved nothing more than curling up at our feet in front of a fire at the end of the day, joining us as a comforting presence in meetings, or sunning himself in the White House garden."

The Bidens got Champ as a puppy in 2008, shortly before they moved into the vice president's official residence at the Naval Observatory. The president said he drew inspiration for his name from his father, who would tell him, "Any time you get knocked down, champ — get up!"

In their statement, the family reflected on Champ's younger days and said the large dog enjoyed chasing golf balls and running after the Bidens' grandchildren.
"In our most joyful moments and in our most grief-stricken days, he was there with us, sensitive to our every unspoken feeling and emotion," the Bidens said. "We love our sweet, good boy and will miss him always."
The president and first lady have another German shepherd named Major, a rescue dog they adopted in 2018.
Both canines returned to the White House in March after they were briefly sent to the Bidens' home in Delaware after Major nipped a Secret Service agent's hand.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the incident happened when Major "was surprised by an unfamiliar person and reacted in a way that resulted in a minor injury to the individual."

Jill Biden's press secretary, Michael LaRosa, said that Major received some extra training while in Delaware to help him get adjusted to his new surroundings

#PRIDEHORRORSTORY: One dead after truck driver plows through Pride parade in South Florida!
WILTON MANORS, Fla. - A driver slammed into spectators Saturday evening at the start of a Pride parade in South Florida, killing one person and seriously injuring another, authorities said
The pickup truck driver acted like he was part of the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade but then suddenly accelerated when he was told he was next, crashing into the victims, Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis said, according to WSVN-TV. Wilton Manors is just north of Fort Lauderdale.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody. Authorities did not immediately give further details about the victims or say whether they think the crash was intentional.
Trantalis said he believes the crash was "deliberate" and an attack against the LGBTQ community.
Photos and video from the scene showed Democratic U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in tears while in a convertible at the parade.
In a statement Saturday night, Wasserman Schultz said she was safe but "deeply shaken and devastated that a life was lost."

"I am so heartbroken by what took place at this celebration," she said. "May the memory of the life lost be for a blessing."
Spectator Christina Currie told the South Florida SunSentinel that she was with her family at the start of the parade.
"All of a sudden there was a loud revving of a truck and a crash through a fence," Currie said. "It was definitely an intentional act right across the lanes of traffic."
Wilton Manors police tweeted Saturday night that the public is not in danger.
"Though authorities are still gathering information, we know two individuals marching to celebrate inclusion and equality were struck by a vehicle," Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony said in a statement. "This tragedy took place within feet of me and my (Broward Sheriff’s Office) team, and we are devastated having witnessed this horrific incident."

June is Pride Month, commemorating the June 1969 police raid targeting gay patrons at the Stonewall Inn in New York that led to an uprising of LGBTQ Americans and served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement.

Woman Claims Carmelo Anthony Fathered Her Twins In The Wake Of His Divorce With LaLa Anthony!
Well, you can definitely say that it's been a while couple of days for future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony.
Just some hours after his wife LaLa Anthony filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage, a woman that has decided to go unnamed has stated that he fathered her twins.

The woman, according to Hollywood Unlocked, called Carmelo out for not being there physically nor financially for his sons, claiming that it was eating her up inside:
"The woman explained that she met Carmelo in New York in 2020. After turning him down a few times, he insisted that he was not trying to hit on her but just wanted to be “cool” and “hang out.” Because of his good energy and vibe, she went along with it and kept in contact with him. She said during 2020, they talked almost every day and the two eventually hung out and later started hooking up. She noted that although she knew Carmelo was married, he came off as a single man because he would FaceTime her in his bed at his home, who he shares with LaLa Anthony, and noted that he didn’t even spend holidays with his family!

While she admits that she’s no angel, she says she honestly didn’t feel bad about seeing Carmelo because she alleges that she also knows “who’s f*cking LaLa too!” Aside from that, in September, the woman found out she was pregnant with twins," read the report.
"As for her reason for speaking out now, she says she realized she’s been “living a whole lie” and it’s been eating her up inside. She has not told her family or close friends about her kids and even previously denied pregnancy rumors to protect Carmelo and his family. Although he has provided a place and some money, she said that’s not enough for her kids who need to know who their dad is. “I’ve seen my wrong in the situation and I should’ve never let this get this far, but I don’t want my kids to suffer.” She even noted that she’s open to speaking with LaLa, but doubt she would give her the opportunity to talk things over," the report concluded.

The Blazers star has not confirmed or denied any of the accusations and given the way these things usually go, we're not likely to ever know the truth.

Nina Simone’s Family Blame Kamala Harris For Taking Singer’s Estate Away From Them!
Nina Simone’s daughter and grandchildren have declared they will no longer be silent, claiming her estate had been “taken away” from them and they are placing the blame on Vice President Kamala Harris.
It kicked off on Friday evening when RéAnna Simone Kelly, the daughter of Simone’s daughter Lisa Simone Kelly, praised Chlöe Bailey’s sexy rendition of the singer’s iconic song “Feeling Good”.

“Everyone’s coming at @ChloeBailey for her performance… But what y’all don’t understand is that grandma was a free-spirited woman herself,” RéAnna tweeted. “She would’ve loved that performance as much as I do! Relax. Chloe killed it.”
“Grandma was unapologetically herself,” she added in a follow-up tweet. “She was a muhhhfuckin badass woman who did what she wanted when she wanted. She was a sexual woman and she expressed that. Educate yourselves! If grandma could, she probably would’ve done that performance herself.”
Still scrolling through comments about Simone and her legacy, RéAnna came across a tweet questioning why her estate would make a Twitter account for the singer years after her death in 2003—and she decided it was finally time to air her grievances.

“We as her family don’t run her estate anymore,” the 22-year-old declared. “It was taken away from us & given to white people. Our family name was DRAGGED in the media. We get NO royalties, nothing. Wanna hold someone accountable? Ask Kamala Harris why she came for my family.”
The iconic jazz singer’s family gripe with Harris goes back to 2013, when Harris was serving as California’s Attorney General. After Simone’s death, Kelly was made the administrator of her estate, as well as a charitable trust that Simone had established. It was Simone’s last wish for the charity to support the musical education of Black children in Africa.

But in 2013, Kelly was accused of “breaching her fiduciary duty” to both the estate and trust, allegedly draining up to $2 million from its coffers, including a $1.5 million deposit into her personal company, according to court records reviewed by The Daily Beast.

Harris oversaw the case and came down hard on Kelly, at one point wanting to surcharge her nearly $6 million, plus more than $2.5 million in interest. Eventually, the parties came to an agreement: Kelly was stripped of her title of estate administrator and agreed to relinquish her rights to Simone’s works. She also was barred from saying or implying that she had any affiliation with her mother’s legacy and estate.

This never sat right with Kelly and her children, with RéAnna ripping into Harris in her tweetstorm, accusing the politician of separating her family, taking away their family’s rights, and leaving the estate in shambles.
“Ask her why she bullied my mother in court and my mom almost killed herself from the depression,” she demanded. “Ask her why my mother had a gag order put on her and can not speak on these things. Ask her why she didn’t even want my mom to be able to say she was Nina Simone’s daughter. Ask her why she wanted us to walk away with NOTHING.”

RéAnna said Harris twisted the knife even further when John Legend performed “Feeling Good” on the night of the inauguration for President Joe Biden and Harris.
“My grandmother created something beautiful with her life while she was here on this earth, even through all her pain,” RéAnna concluded. “I am SO PROUD of her legacy!! I am so proud to be her grandchild. But I feel separated from my legacy. As if it isn’t even mine.”

On Saturday, Kelly took to Instagram to stand by RéAnna, proudly saying she had “started a fire.”
“I support everything she said,” Kelly said. “She’s speaking her truth; she’s speaking the truth of our family.”
“While I may not be able to speak on certain things, those close to me who witnessed the happenings firsthand are choosing to step forward with the Truth,” she added in her caption. “For those who believe everything they read in the media, you have been misled.”

“It’s very frustrating,” Kelly’s son Alexander Simone told The Daily Beast, clarifying that while his mother has some say in Simone’s estate, the family is largely excluded from any conversations about projects involving Simone. When Zoe Saldana was cast to play Simone in a biopic about her life in 2016’s Nina, the family was outraged, having no say in the matter.

Alexander declined to clarify who exactly was in control of the estate. When Kelly resigned as administrator, the court appointed Los Angeles-based San Pasqual Fiduciary Trust Company as Special Administrator of the estate, as well as making the firm the trustee of Simone’s charitable trust.
“Nothing comes back to us,” he explained. “Nothing, no recognition. We kind of get overlooked. It’s sad, but it's been happening so long that we’ve learned to live around it. Everybody else is benefiting off our family name, and nothing was really coming to the family.”

“As far as royalties or anything that has to be done, it doesn’t come back to us. It goes directly to the estate. It’s hard sometimes to fight a battle that they tried to make. It shouldn’t be a battle at all.”

Lifetime Is Bringing Back ‘Highway To Heaven’ Reboot Starring Jill Scott & Barry Watson!
An updated version of Highway to Heaven is coming to the small screen. Lifetime has greenlighted event movie series Highway To Heaven, a modern take on the classic Michael Landon TV series, starring Grammy winner Jill Scott (First Wives Club) in a gender-switching lead role, and Barry Watson (The Loudest Voice). Scott also serves as an executive producer.

Scott stars as new angel Angela who comes down to Earth to help people in crisis. Landon played the male version of the character in the original series, the angel Jonathan, who was sent to Earth to help people in need. Watson portrays Junior High School principal Bruce to whom Angela reveals her true identity.

Cast also includes Ben Daon (The Astronauts), Robert Moloney (Riverdale, You Me Her) and Ashley Ross (A Series of Unfortunate Events).
In cooperation with Cindy Landon and the Michael Landon Estate, the movies are inspired by the highly-rated ’80s drama that ran for five seasons and more than 100 episodes from 1984 to 1989 on NBC. With a constant theme throughout of love and kindness, the reboot aims to inspire hope and community as it addresses contemporary social and emotional issues, this time with a female angel as the anchor of the movie series.

The project marks a reunion for Lifetime and Scott, who previously starred in the Emmy-nominated Flint centered on the water crisis, the all-African American reboot of Steel Magnolias and Sins of the Mother. Watson also returns to Lifetime for his first non-holiday movie role for the network, having previously starred in A Very Nutty Christmas and The Santa Con.

Scott currently plays Hazel in BET+’s The First Wives Club, and is the host of J.ill the Podcast. Her July 2000 debut album, “Who is Jill Scott? Words & Sounds, Vol. 1,” went double platinum and earned Scott several Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. Later she went on to have the #1 album in the country with “The Light of The Sun” and performed at The White House. Scott penned The Moments, The Minutes, The Hours, a compilation of poems that instantly became a New York Times bestseller. She also is the founder of Blues Babe, a registered 501(c)3 foundation that supports minority students pursuing college degrees. Scott is repped by UTA and Maverick.

Watson soon will be seen starring in the CW superhero drama Naomi, based on the DC Comic. He most recently appeared opposite Russell Crowe in Showtime’s limited series The Loudest Voice, chronicling the rise and fall of former Fox News Chairman, Roger Ailes. He also was the lead of the Hulu/Blumhouse Production film The Current Occupant and in Sony’s A Dog’s Way Home. Watson’s breakout role was on 7th Heaven, starring as Matt Camden for six seasons. Watson is repped by Innovative Artists and Trademark Talent.

#RHONJ: Traci Lynn Johnson is in talks to join ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey!
Traci Lynn Johnson — the wife of Giants legend Tiki Barber — is in talks to join the cast of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” sources confirmed. Johnson has been seen filming with the cast of the Bravo series at various Garden State events. Sources further said the show has also filmed at her home.

UK outlet The Sun reported that Johnson filmed with the cast at “Margaret Josephs’ Pride party in Englewood, NJ, on Tuesday night.” A source told the Sun: “The party was shot for season 12, Traci is being tested out to see how she fits in with the other women, she’s been filming scenes.”
Also at a party where Johnson reportedly filmed with the cast were New Jersey “Housewives” stars Dolores Catania, Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, and Jackie Goldschneider.

Barber and Johnson live in Florham Park, NJ, and Johnson has previously been rumored as a potential star of the “Housewives” franchise. In 2015, there was buzz that she might join the show, as Giudice was headed to jail to serve time on fraud charges. But Johnson and Barber both shot down the speculation at the time, telling TMZ, “Don’t believe everything that you read.”

A number of the “Housewives” series have been shaking up their casts lately. Page Six reported that “The Real Housewives of Orange County” stars Kelly Dodd, Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas will not be returning to the show.

Heather Dubrow, who appeared on Seasons 7 through 11 of the reality show, is confirmed to return
Barber reportedly first infamously met Johnson when she was an NBC intern, and he worked at “Today.” He was previously married to Ginny Barber.

Will Smith Shares a First Look at His Forthcoming Memoir 'WILL'!
Will Smith took to Instagram to announce his upcoming memoir, WILL, giving fans a first look at the book’s cover artwork. The cover, which opts for a hand-painted approach over a photographic one, was created by New Orleans-based visual artist Brandan “BMike” Odums.

The memoir’s artwork features an assiduously-crafted portrait of the Academy Award and Grammy winner in yellow and black, accented with pink and blue hues. However, in this format, the image belies the depth of the canvas, which was crafted by repeatedly layering imagery of the actor from various stages in his life, from childhood to present — a process which can be seen in the video below.

WILL‘s contents mirror the same progression as the cover artwork. While many facets of the actor’s career are a matter of public record, the book promises a more personal account. Co-written by Mark Manson, WILL aims to take readers on a journey through Smith’s ascension within the TV, music and film industries, finally arriving at a place of balance between success in the public eye and personal fulfillment.

Slated to release through Penguin Press on November 9, 2021, WILL will debut in 113 countries simultaneously. The book is available to pre-order at the actor’s website.

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to Produce Marvin Gaye Biopic ‘What’s Going On’!
Deadline has learned that Warner Bros. spent upwards of $80 million to acquire the script for the biopic What’s Going On about Marvin Gaye, written by poet and playwright Marcus Gardley. Allen Hughes has been tapped to direct. His previous directorial credits include The Book of Eli and 1993’s Menace II Society, both of which were done with his brother Albert.

“This is so personal for me,” Hughes said. “When I made my first film with my brother, we were fortunate to get What’s Going On into the trailer for Menace 2 Society, and it was a game changer in elevating the marketing of that film. Every film of mine but the period film From Hell had some Marvin Gaye in it, and I’ve just always connected to him.”
“He’s the artist’s artist, with this ethereal voice that just comes out of the heavens,” he continued. “There have been plenty of great artists, and then Marvin, in his own lane.”

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine will serve as producers. Their ties to Hughes date back to his work on the 2017 HBO miniseries The Defiant Ones about Dre and Iovine’s partnership. “You’ve heard of all these big name directors that have tried for 35 years to consolidate these rights,” Hughes said. “This started with Dre, saying let’s do this together, and then Jimmy came on, and Andrew Lazar, and we worked with the estate, with Motown and some other things that needed to be tied down, and we got it done.”

Deadline reports the biopic will not be presented in the traditional sense, but rather a “musical odyssey and theatrical experience” celebrating the late Motown icon, highlighting the women in his life who influenced his career and inspired his greatest love songs. The film will get into the turbulent relationship with his father, in addition to other events from his past that shaped his last tour.

What’s Going On will go into production next year with a tentative 2023 release in theaters and on HBO Max.

Roc-A-Fella Sues Damon Dash To Stop Selling ‘Reasonable Doubt’ NFT!
Roc-A-Fella is suing one of its own. The record label started by JAY-Z, Damon Dash, and Kareem Burke is suing its co-founder in a first-of-its-kind lawsuit, alleging that Dash is trying to auction off JAY-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt as a non-fungible token (NFT).
According to TMZ, Dame is trying to sell the album as an NFT and auction it off to the highest bidder. However, Roc-A-Fella says it’s not his to sell, because the company owns it.

According to legal documents filed Friday in New York’s Southern District Court, Dame planned to sell the album as an NFT at an auction that has since been canceled. However, the label is worried that he will attempt to auction it off on another platform.

Lawyers for JAY-Z state, “Dash had planned to sell at a SuperFarm Foundation online auction on Jun. 23… the copyright to JAY-Z’s album Reasonable Doubt, recognized as one of the greatest recordings in history. That auction was canceled and Dash is frantically scouting for another venue to make the sale.”
Roc-A-Fella says that the sale “must be stopped before it is too late,” adding that Dash “must be held accountable for his theft.”

JAY, Dash, and Burke each own one-third of the shares in the record label and in Reasonable Doubt, according to paperwork. “Dash can’t sell what he doesn’t own. By attempting such a sale, Dash has converted a corporate asset and has breached his fiduciary duties. The court should stop Dash….and hold him accountable for his brazen theft,” the lawsuit concludes.

This is the latest legal battle involving Reasonable Doubt. Earlier in the week, JAY-Z sued Jonathan Mannion, claiming that the famed photographer is trying to exploit his name by selling photos he shot for JAY-Z’s 1996 debut without the rapper’s permission.

Megan Thee Stallion Calls Out DaBaby for Tory Lanez Retweet!
DaBaby has stepped in it yet again. Days after the release of “Skat,” his new collaboration with Tory Lanez, DaBaby retweeted a fan’s joke about Lanez shooting Megan the Stallion last summer. “I guess @DaBabyDaBaby and @torylanez cool now bc the[y] shot somebody and don’t have to do no jail time,” the fan’s tweet reads. DaBaby quickly claimed that the retweet was a mistake, tweeting, “Idk what type of Illuminati shit Twitter got goin on. I ain’t retweet nothing but ’Ball If I Want To’ promo.” Megan then addressed the situation on Twitter, though she didn’t name DaBaby directly. “Support me in private and publicly do something different…these industry men are very strange,” she wrote. “This situation ain’t no damn ‘beef’ and I really wish people would stop down playing it like it’s some internet shit for likes and retweets.”

Instead of simply apologizing, DaBaby doubled down, telling Megan not to “let these folks get the best of you.” He also added, “stand on what you stand on without feeling like I’m against ya.” Megan replied, “My stance hasn’t changed at all YOURS has. We already spoke abt this in private and you specifically said ‘that ain’t even no good business move why would I promote that shit’ but now this ain’t your ‘beef’ ? That ain’t real. But you stay on ya ‘business’ my g.”

DaBaby responded by downplaying his mistake and reiterating that the whole thing was none of his business. Meanwhile, Megan’s boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine, joined in to defend Meg, telling DaBaby, “u don’t ever gotta address her again” and calling out his backpedaling. “This matter ain’t about no public opinion or internet beef,” Fontaine added in a later tweet after DaBaby laughed him off.

Megan hasn’t responded to DaBaby’s latest tweets, likely because she’s busy celebrating her newest single ascending the charts.

A Battle kicks off over rapper DMX’s Estate!
The battle lines have been drawn at dawn over legendary late hip-hop artist DMX’s estate, and it is already a big showdown.
Page Six has exclusively learned that the late rapper’s fiancée Desiree Lindstrom recently applied to the court to be legally declared his “common law wife,” but a judge shot her down.
The move — if it had been approved — would have given Lindstrom, who was engaged to the rapper since 2019 and is the mother to his 5-year-old son, Exodus, immediate seniority over his 14 children to potentially control his estate and all future earnings from his music.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, died in early April aged 50 following a drug overdose — he left no will and few liquid assets.
Legal sources say an estate must be set up to manage larger expected future earnings from DMX’S music. The first step is for a court to appoint administrators.
His three adult sons from his marriage to Tashera Simmons — Xavier, 28, Tacoma, 21, and Sean, 19 — are petitioning to be administrators.

However, DMX reportedly had other relationships during his marriage. He also has two adult daughters — Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden — who are also filing to be administrators.
DMX has 14 legally recognized children, according to the court filings, but only descendants over 18 can be appointed administrators, according to New York law.

An insider said, “There is no will from DMX and that’s a big problem. This is a difficult situation because there are a number of people vying to be named administrators.
“His fiancée Desiree tried to muscle in by asking the court to be named his common-law wife, which means she would have taken precedence over his children. But the court refused.”

The source said that Judge Helen Blackwood ruled that Lindstrom did “not have standing to file,” as a common-law wife.
The rep for Xavier, Tacoma and Sean Simmons, prominent estates attorney Herb Nass, declined to comment.
Sasha and Jada’s attorney did not get back to us, nor did Lindstrom’s attorney Kevin Cohen.

The next court date is July 15, where the judge will review submissions from DMX’s kids to decide the administrators.

In totally unrelated news, Kanye just registered 'Sunday Service' as a non-profit organization...

From The Sun
KANYE West has quietly made his church official by registering his Sunday Service as a tax-exempt non-profit - amid ongoing lawsuits from disgruntled workers, The Sun can exclusively reveal.
Documents obtained by The Sun show Kanye hired lawyer, Karl F. Mill, based in San Francisco specializing in non-profits, and has now been granted 501c3 tax-exempt status.
A filing dated March 23 shows details of the corporation and lists the $2.2million HQ in Calabasas, which Kanye is said to have turned into a bachelor pad amid his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
A certificate of status viewed by The Sun has also been signed by Shirley Weber, Secretary of State.
Kanye's decision to make the church official comes at an interesting time, as he's being sued for damages in two class-action lawsuits in Los Angeles, first revealed by The Sun in January.
