Anthony Mackie for L’Officiel Monte Carlo Magazine!

“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” star Anthony Mackie covers the latest issue of L’Officiel Monte Carlo magazine photographed by Mike Ruiz and styled by Alison Hernon.

Do you think there is a possibility of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier musical?

I’d definitely pay good money to see Sebastian as the Winter Soldier on stage! The look on his face after the show at the stage door would be worth its weight in gold. And, everyone knows my dream is to do a Broadway musical!

Before becoming an actor, you wanted to be a mechanical engineer, can you tell us a what got you interested in engineering?

My brothers were very important to me growing up. They literally were my superheroes! One of my brothers was in Law School and my other brother was in engineering school. I knew I wasn’t smart enough to be a lawyer so engineer was the next pick… I honestly thought engineering was all about building things and blowing thing up! How could you not be excited about that!

#RHOA: Phaedra Parks Reacts to Kenya Moore's Recent Comments About Apollo Nida!

Kenya Moore got introspective during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in January. The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member shared that she was regretful of some of her past actions, including how she handled things with Apollo Nida when he appeared on the show during his marriage to Phaedra Parks (the couple finalized their divorce in 2017).

Kenya told Andy Cohen that she "absolutely" wishes she had gone about the situation with Apollo in a different way. "I think I could have just distanced myself from Apollo altogether, not been so chummy-chummy, especially when it bothered his wife," Kenya said during the "Legends Ball" episode in honor of her 50th birthday, which aired on January 24 (clip above).

She went on to share where things stood with Phaedra at that time. "You know what? Honestly, we don't have a relationship, but we've been on each other's social media, and we've made jokes and stuff," Kenya said. "So I think it's pretty cordial."

On May 6, Phaedra appeared on WWHL as one of six Real Housewives alums in a special Bravo Blasts from the Past episode as part of the A-May-Zing Bravo Party Week, and she revealed that things have stayed in mostly the same place with Kenya. "We speak on social media," Phaedra gave an update on where they are today (clip below). "But I haven't seen her."

Phaedra also shared her reaction to Kenya's comments about Apollo. "I mean, I totally agree with it. I felt good that she recognized it. I think sometimes you don't recognize things until you're in the position," Phaedra said, adding that getting married and becoming a mom may have contributed to Kenya's change in perspective. "Growth is possible for everybody."

#MusicNews: Anthony Hamilton Releases Jermaine Dupri Produced Single “You Made A Fool Of Me”!

Anthony Hamilton is back with his new single “You Made A Fool Of Me”. The song is produced by legendary producer Jermaine Dupri who originally signed Anthony to his label So So Def back in the day for “Comin’ from Where I’m From”, “Ain’t Nobody Worryin’”, “The Point of It All”.

The pair actually haven’t collaborated full time like they did this time around as JD exclusively told us told us that they’re working on a joint album together:

“We are trying to put the character back into R&B. The thing that’s happening in R&B, you can tell before it’s happening. Right now, they seem to automatically know what they are going to get out of R&B as opposed it coming like a curveball. That’s why this record is a curveball, y’all didn’t expect it to happen. People are not going to expect it. You have to do stuff like that, so people can start thirsting for the genre again as well as understanding the character of it”.

LISTEN HERE

This is Anthony Hamilton’s first official project since the release of his 2016 album “What I’m Feelin'” which was released on RCA. Anthony is now an independent artist, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does with this new project with JD.

“Last Night as I am preparing for versus a lady was shot outside my hotel window. To see and hear the four shots, see her laying on the ground and all the blood was unbelievable!!” she wrote.

#BoxOfficeNews: Jason Statham’s ‘Wrath of Man,’ Gets The Summer Movie Season Off To a Slow Start!

“Wrath of Man,” a heist thriller starring Jason Statham, is leading box office charts with its $8.1 million debut.

It’s hardly the start to summer movie season, which typically kicks off the first weekend in May, that many theater owners were hoping would ignite with Marvel’s “Black Widow.” (Disney recently moved the release of its superhero tentpole starring Scarlett Johansson from May 7 to July 9). At the very least, it’s something to keep film exhibitors afloat until moviegoing is expected to pick up with Disney’s “Cruella” and Paramount’s “A Quiet Place Part II” at the end of the month, followed by “F9,” the musical “In the Heights” and “The Hitman’s Bodyguard’s Wife” in June.

Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst at Comscore, anticipates the summer box office won’t rebound until “Cruella” and “A Quiet Place Part II” debut on May 28. “The numbers don’t feel yet like summer, but a movie like ‘Wrath Of Man’ can certainly get consumers in the mood for the upcoming summer kickoff on Memorial [Day] weekend,” he said.

In North America, the box office has returned in fits and starts as COVID-19 vaccination rates rise and major movie markets, such as New York City and Los Angeles, loosen capacity restrictions in theaters. That should help cinemas sell more tickets and, in turn, give Hollywood the confidence to roll out big movies. In the meantime, receipts for “Mortal Kombat,” “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” have been encouraging. Though its momentum has slowed, “Godzilla vs. Kong” crossed $92 million in the U.S. this weekend and has a shot of becoming the first pandemic-era movie to surpass $100 million at the domestic box office.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, “Wrath of Man” represents a pandemic anomaly because it’s having a traditional theatrical release. Unlike “Godzilla vs. Kong” or Disney’s “Raya and the Last Dragon,” the MGM film isn’t available simultaneously on a streaming service or digital rental platform. If audiences want to see a vengeful Statham kick ass and take names, the only place to do so is their local theater. Ticket buyers appear to be pleased with their purchase; the film has an “A-” CinemaScore from moviegoers. Critics were less impressed (it holds a 66% average on Rotten Tomatoes), but several reviewers pointed out that plot aside, the action was fun to watch unfold on the big screen.

Overseas, where Miramax is handling distribution, “Wrath of Man” has taken in $17.6 million to date. The movie opens wide in China on Monday.

“Wrath of Man” wasn’t the only new nationwide release. Sony Pictures opened “Here Today,” a comedy with Tiffany Haddish and Billy Crystal, in 1,200 North American venues. It pulled in $900,000 over the weekend, landing in seventh place on box office charts. Even by pandemic standards, that’s a dismal start for a major studio release featuring two household names in Haddish and Crystal. The film, directed by Crystal, follows the unlikely friendship between an aging comedy writer and an up-and-coming singer and received mixed reviews.

There were several holdover titles that earned considerably more money than “Here Today.” In its 10th weekend of release, ticket sales for Disney’s “Raya and the Last Dragon” increased 25% from the weekend prior. The animated kids movie, which is currently available to rent on Disney Plus for a premium fee, landed in fifth place and added another $1.8 million from 2,315 venues. That brings its domestic tally to $43.8 million.

After three weeks on the big screen, the anime hit “Demon Slayer” slid to second place and pulled in $3 million. It has made $39 million in the U.S. and more than $435 million globally. Falling not far behind, the Warner Bros. video game adaptation “Mortal Kombat” landed in the No. 3 spot with $2.3 million. The movie, which is playing on HBO Max for no extra cost to subscribers, has generated $37.8 million in North America and $72 million worldwide.

“Godzilla vs. Kong,” also from Warner Bros., came in fourth place with $1.9 million. With $422 million at the global box office, the monster mashup has surpassed revenues for its predecessor, the poorly reviewed, mega-budgeted “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” That film, which was released in 2019, tapped out with $386 million.

Among indie releases, Oscilloscope’s “Silo” premiered to $51,689 from 208 screens, translating to $249 per location. The movie also opened this weekend on video on demand platforms. Billed as the first movie about “grain entrapment,” “Silo” is set in a small American farm town. Disaster strikes as a teenage boy gets trapped inside a train silo and faces the potential of getting buried alive.

#HEARTBREAKING: Gunman Kills 6, Then Himself at Colorado Birthday Party

Six people were killed in a shooting early Sunday morning during a birthday party at a Colorado Springs, Colorado, mobile home, according to police.

via: Complex Authorities said the incident occurred shortly after midnight when the unidentified gunman, who is believed to be the boyfriend of a female victim, walked into a party attended by family, friends, and children in a mobile home park in Colorado Springs and started firing at guests. Six dead bodies were found when police arrived, as well as a man with serious injuries. That individual was later pronounced dead at the hospital. No children were injured.

A nearby resident told the Colorado Springs Gazette that she was awoken by the sound of gunshots and people crying. She said she also saw two kids in the back of a patrol car.

Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers called the shooting a “senseless act of violence,” and said an investigation is ongoing. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis’ statement centered around the fact that this happened on Mother’s Day, saying, “Many of us are spending the day celebrating the women in our lives who have made us the people we are today.”

Colorado Springs Police Chief Vince Niski said the officers and investigators who responded to the shooting were “left incredibly shaken.” Niski promised that the department will do everything it can to provide those who lost a loved one with answers in due time.

Police have yet to name the victims, saying they are working to notify their families. Sending our condolences to families of all the victims.

Kim Kardashian Blames Ex-Husband Kanye West For Stolen Ancient Statue Debacle!

Kim Kardashian IS involved with the ancient Roman artifact that was seized by the government, the problem is she says it's all Kanye West's fault -- having no idea it was purchased in her name.

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star is reportedly now aware that the priceless piece of art was purchased in her name and the 'Noel Roberts Trust' which is used by the reality star to purchase the property.

At first, Kim denied knowing anything about the situation and claims it's the first she has ever heard of it. But, turns out, she just learned that the statue was allegedly purchased by her then-husband as a piece of a larger art deal.

According to reports, Kim found out this week about Kanye's art purchase which included the item in question. She claims it's unclear if Kanye bought it as a gift, or if he just kept her in the dark.

It's shocking to consider that KW would make a family purchase of this size without consulting with his wife -- but, they are really really rich.

The Kardashian connection comes after the feds claimed the broker, in this case, is a Belgium designer named Alex Vervoordt, who allegedly shipped the statue to the United States. The same designer famously worked with the couple in building their massive compound in Hidden Hills, CA.

In this case, it is believed Vervoordt put Kim's name and company on the paperwork while shipping it to the U.S.

Roman Statue Is Reportedly Connected To Ex-Couple's House Designer

The Belgian designer broke his silence on the situation, saying, he purchased the item from a French gallery "in good faith" which claimed they bought it from a German auction house.

He continued, "At this point, there is no evidence that this piece was illegally imported from Italy. If the investigation proves that the piece was actually exported from Italy without a proper export license from the Italian Ministry of Culture, then we will of course take our responsibility."

As we reported, Italian officials are claiming the statue was actually "looted" from the country and illegally exported to the U.S.

Bottom line...someone has some explaining to do.

#CONDOLENCES: Lloyd Price, 'Personality' and 'Stagger Lee' Singer, Dead at 88!

Classic singer-songwriter Lloyd Price has passed away at 88. Price was one of the many stars of early rock and roll and found success with songs like "Personality" and his classic recording of the staple "Stagger Lee." He died earlier in the week, on May 3, in New Rochelle, New York, due to diabetes complications. According to his wife in a statement to The Associated Press, Jacqueline, Price lived in a long-term care facility.

is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, entering in 1998 due to his contributions to music history. Bruce Springsteen E Street Band bandmate Steven Van Zandt paid tribute to the late star in a message on Twitter.

"Very important part of Rock history. He was BEFORE Little Richard!" Van Zandt said Saturday. "Lawdy Miss Clawdy of 1952 has a legit claim as the first Rock hit.... Righteous cat. Enormous talent."

Price was one of the few surviving members of the postwar New Orleans music scene that laid the groundwork for rock and roll and R&B music for the coming decade. He rubbed shoulders with names like Fats Domino and David Bartholomew, building his own name and independent success.

According to the AP, "Mr. Personality" was one of the first artists to run their own record label, with the outlet comparing him to Frank Sinatra for holding onto his own publishing rights and filling the role of his own manager and agent. He was also quite outspoken despite his smiling demeanor and entertaining style. As the AP adds, Price wrote in a Facebook post during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests that he was a "man who is seething" despite his public persona.

"Lawdy Miss Clawdy" became a number one hit in 1952, featuring Fats Domino on piano and later covered by Elvis Presley and Little Richard. Despite the success, Price made it clear that the crossover success of the song was bittersweet due to the effects of the Jim Crow Laws in the south.

He later was drafted into the military during the Korean War, returning to music in 1957 with "Stagger Lee." The story behind the song was around long before Price wrote the tune, a legend appearing in music throughout the '20s and beyond. But Price's version was the right song for the right time, despite its source being a barroom murder after a showdown between two black men.

Away from music, Price was involved in the promotion of The Thrilla in Manila and Rumble in the Jungle, featuring Muhammad Ali against Joe Frazier and George Forman respectively. The AP adds that Price was involved in building homes, spent time as a booking agent, created a line of foodstuff products and was a top-notch bowler. He also ran the Double L Records label with business partner Harold Logan, even taking charge of a New York nightclub together. But Logan was killed in 1969, leading to Price moving to Nigeria until the '80s. He is remembered for his talent and impact, but also remembered for his longevity. He gave credit to his clean life and abstinence from vices to the success.

"I never drank, smoked, used drugs or had bad habits," he said in a 1998 interview with Larry Katz. "I'd drive a taxi cab to get me the food I need to live. I never was starstruck. I had 23 hit records and I never looked for the next record to hit. I never had that need that they had to be somebody. I just wanted to be."

Kentucky Derby Winner, Medina Spirit, Fails Drug Test, Trainer Suspended!

Medina Spirit, the winner of the 2021 Kentucky Derby, has tested positive for betamethasone, a corticosteroid, the horse’s trainer Bob Baffert revealed Sunday morning, shortly before he was suspended.

According to the New York Post, Baffert claimed Medina Spirit has “never been treated with betamethasone” and called the failed post-race drug test for 21 picograms of the substance “shocking.”

“Yesterday I got the biggest gut-punch in racing for something I didn’t do,” Baffert told the media at Churchill Downs in Louisville. “It’s disturbing. It’s an injustice to the horse.”

The Derby win by Medina Spirit, jockeyed by John Velasquez, gave Baffert, a hall of fame trainer, his record seventh Kentucky Derby win. Now he’s been suspended indefinitely.

“Failure to comply with the rules and medication protocols jeopardizes the safety of the horses and jockeys, the integrity of our sport, and the reputation of the Kentucky Derby and all who participate. Churchill Downs will not tolerate it,” the organization said in a released statement.

Medina Spirit has not been automatically disqualified. Derby officials are awaiting results from another sample to come back before making a decision.

Trey Songz Accused Of Injuring Woman In Hit-And-Run Incident!

It looks like Trey Songz may be in some hot water again! The 36-year-old singer was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident on Thursday (May 6). According to TMZ, law enforcement sources responded to a situation involving Trey Songz and a woman who claims he intentionally hit her car, injuring her hand before speeding off. Reportedly, the “Can’t Help But Wait” singer and an unnamed woman got into an argument while they were each in their respective cars shortly after midnight. According to the women’s police report, Songz allegedly struck her car and when she got out to confront him, he sped off, striking her hand in the process. When the woman called the police to report Trey Songz, he had already fled the scene. Although there’s no clear indication why the two were arguing, the woman said she suffered hand injuries but refused medical attention. Cops reported it as a hit-and-run.

A source close to Trey Songz’s team says the allegations are completely false. This isn’t the first time Songz has made headlines for legal trouble. As previously reported, Songz is being sued for battery charges by a male bartender. Trey Songz allegedly got violent at a Cardi B concert at the Hollywood Palladium on May 9th, 2019. Reportedly, the bartender told Songz he was not allowed to sit on the bar to watch the performance, but he ignored him. Then, in response to the bartender trying to get the singer’s attention by touching his back, Trey Songz allegedly punched the bartender in the head.

The “Mr Steal Your Girl” singer was also arrested back in January for for fighting a police officer at a Kansas City Chiefs game. The incident allegedly went down because Trey Songz was not complying with COVID-19 guidelines and refused to leave the premises. However, he was ultimately not charged after his arrest. On top of this incident, Trey Songz also just recently settled a lawsuit over an alleged sexual assault.

Trey Songz has yet to comment on his most recent legal issue.

Louisville police internal report finds officers should not have shot back during Breonna Taylor raid!

An internal report from the Louisville Metro Police Department concluded that the officers involved in the raid that killed Breonna Taylor in March 2020 should not have fired back.

The Professional Standards Unit report says officers should have tried de-escalation tactics instead of firing wildly into the apartment after Sgt. Jon Mattingly was shot in the leg by Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth

Walker has long contested the police did not announce themselves before breaking down his front door.

Det. Myles Cosgrove, Mattingly, and former LMPD Det. Brett Hankison returned dozens of shots after Walker fired, including the bullets (fired by Cosgrove and Mattingly) that struck and killed Taylor.

“They took a total of thirty-two shots, when the provided circumstances made it unsafe to take a single shot. This is how the wrong person was shot and killed,” Sgt. Andrew Meyer wrote in the report, dated Dec. 4, according to ABC News. Further, the officers ignored the significant risk of hitting a bystander who did not pose a threat.

Hankison was ultimately charged with multiple counts of wanton endangerment because several of his shots entered and nearly struck people in an adjacent apartment. After pleading not guilty in September, Hankison is still awaiting trial.

Former interim LMPD Chief Yvette Gentry disagreed with the Professional Standards Unit’s report, saying the officers “reasonably believed” that use of deadly force was authorized in that situation.

Hankison and Cosgrove were ultimately fired and Mattingly has announced he plans to retire in June.

Gentry, who stepped down as interim chief in January, released a statement after Meyer’s report was made public.

“I fired people that some believe should have been suspended, I reprimanded people some people (said) should have been exonerated and I overturned what was believed was not appropriate for the situation,” Gentry said.

She added, “I still believe in my soul Breonna Taylor should be alive.”

Lonita Baker, an attorney for Taylor’s family, said the report and Gentry’s statement left a lot of be desired.

“It’s disappointing that Chief Gentry went against the recommendation of the investigators. Only she knows the reason that she did that,” Baker told WHAS.
