He’s set for his very first Oscar opposite his Get Out co-star in 2017.
And LaKeith Stanfield looked sleek and handsome this week, when he graced the latest issue of Flaunt magazine which came out on Thursday.
The Judas and the Black Messiah actor, 29, was classy in Bottega Veneta Salon 01, which provided all the clothes and props for his shoot.
The performer is up for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor this season, along with costar Daniel Kaluuya in the Shaka King movie about how William O’Neal (Stanfield) infiltrated the Black Panther Party led by Fred Hampton (Kaluuya) in the 1960s.
Among his many other impressive credits, LaKeith delivered the titular words in a standout role in Jordan Peele’s 2017 masterpiece Get Out, which won Peele the Best Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and Kaluuya his first sign. of the head of an actor.
Regarding his acclaimed new role, Stanfield observed that it was “ awkward ” to vindicate the character of O’Neal because of the historical figure’s troubling morality.

“ With William it’s tricky, ” LaKeith said, “ because I had to stop judging him first, and I had thrown a bunch of judgments on what I thought he had. made. And so I really didn’t want to play with him at first. I didn’t know if I could play it.
He then added some more of his acting strategy.
“I realized that in order to play with him, I had to find a human element that aligned me with him. People are not just what they do. There is a multiplicity and a complexity in what it means to be human, and I wanted to find those details, to see if I could attack it that way.

From a broader perspective, LaKeith remained hopeful that the intended message would reach the audience.
“ I just hope this inspires people, as we have all been inspired by President Fred Hampton, to continue to fight the good fight and stay in our truth. And I hope people can hopefully see a bit of themselves in Mr. O’Neal, and so even his death is not completely in vain, because someone might learn from him and make better decisions.
Including LaKeith and double supporting actor Daniel nodding their heads, Judas And The Black Messiah is up for a total of six Oscars this year: with Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematic Direction, Best Original Song as well as the best film of the year completing the nods.
The Oscars will take place this year via a streamlined live ceremony on Sunday, April 25.

The new project from the Griselda rapper was released on March 19 and features the track, "Talkin' Back" with the Bronx rap veteran. On the song, Joey Crack raps the line, “Threw that white up in the pot, gave ‘em pipe dreams/And watch it spread like the Wuhan Virus/Do 'em dirty for the low like Wu-Tang 'Sirus (ODB).”
The "Wuhan Virus" reference points to the name coined by some to refer to COVID-19 due to its alleged origins in Wuhan, China. In the past, "Wuhan Virus" or "Chines Virus" have been used as alternatives to try and place blame for the pandemic on the Chinese. The bar did not go unnoticed, especially in today's current climate where Asians are being targeted for violent attacks. Joe has been catching heat on social media. "Lmao fat joe says 'drag me in & out of court like Harvey Weinstein' & then like a single bar later says 'watch it spread like the wuhan virus.' Should’ve seen this coming tbh," one Twitter user commented on the fiasco.

Nicki Minaj’s Mom Files Lawsuit After Husband’s Hit-And-Run Death!
Carol Maraj filed a $150 million lawsuit against Charles Polevich, the man charged in the case of Robert Maraj’s fatal hit-and-run
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump argued that Charles Polevich’s inattentiveness and reckless driving were the cause of the fatal crash that killed Robert Maraj on a street in Long Island on February 12th, according to TMZ.
According to a police report, Polevich struck 64-year-old Maraj, Nicki Minaj’s father and husband of Minaj’s mother, Carol, with his Volvo and fled the scene to hide the car in his home garage after asking the victim if he was OK.
After filing the lawsuit on behalf of Carol Maraj, Crump tweeted “Charles Polevich was not only irresponsible & negligent in hitting Maraj, but was more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help.” He continued, “Polevich’s behavior was criminal, cowardly, and immoral. We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death!”
Marc Craig Gann, Polevich’s attorney, told TMZ: “My client empathizes with the family. The question of whether there was negligence and degrees of negligence will be determined by the court. The $150 million amount seems to be over the top.”
Charged with 2 felonies — leaving the scene of an accident that led to death and tampering with or suppressing physical evidence — Polevich pled not guilty and was released on a $250,000 bond, according to TMZ.
Detective Lt Stephen Fitzpatrick of the Nassau County Police Department, as reported by The Daily Mail, said that 70-year-old Polevich, “was absolutely aware of what happened.” Fitzpatrick elaborated, saying, “he looked at the deceased and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialing 911, instead of calling an ambulance for the man. He went home and secreted the vehicle, so he is well aware of what he did.”
Per a police statement, Polevich could have avoided criminal charges altogether had he remained on the scene after the accident and exhibited no signs that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Crump, in collaboration with Paul Napoli filed the suit on Friday in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.'

Nischelle Turner make history after being named the new co-host of “Entertainment Tonight.” Turner is the first Black woman to lead the show and will host alongside Kevin Frazier. The momentous occasion also marks the first time two African Americans have taken the lead together.
“It means everything to me. Make no mistake about it. I believe and have always believed that I was the best person for the job, but it was never lost on me that it was also bigger than just me. I would be representing an underserved group of people who are finally getting a moment in the spotlight — and a well-deserved moment,” Turner explained to Variety.
Turner also joins a small group of women who have co-hosted the entertainment news show. Mary Hart anchored from 1982-2011 and Nancy O’Dell held the coveted spot from 2011 to 2019.

We both care deeply for each other. We both trust each other, fully and completely to have one another’s back when I’m on that stage. You can’t manufacture that,” she said.
Turner’s career spans more than 20 years and she’s won four Daytime Emmys as an “ET” correspondent and weekend co-host since joining the show in 2014.
Jamie Foxx stars in new PSAs bringing awareness to colon cancer!
Jamie Foxx has joined Stand Up To Cancer and Exact Sciences for a new public service announcement, which raises awareness about colorectal cancer screenings, early detection and prevention, and focuses on reaching underrepresented communities.
The campaign launched March 17 to coincide with Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and will be placed across print, broadcast, radio, digital and out-of-home outlets.
“Cancer affects everyone. I’ve lost good friends – young friends – to this deadly disease,” said Foxx to the Associated Press. “We need to make sure that we are taking care of our bodies, paying attention to certain things, that you didn’t necessarily think about when you were younger. Medical issues come up and you may not know what’s at your disposal, so that is why I am proud to shine a light on the importance of getting screened for colon cancer early and bring awareness to the options that are available with this PSA campaign.”
In 2020, nearly 148,000 Americans received a new diagnosis of colon or rectal cancer and Black people have the highest colorectal cancer rates of any ethnic group in the United States according to reports provided by Stand Up To Cancer. African Americans are 20% more likely to get colorectal cancer and 40% more likely to die from it than any other population as well. The research also shows that colorectal cancer screening rates are the lowest in Hispanic communities, with Black and Hispanic people typically being diagnosed at a later stage in the disease when it is more difficult to treat.
“We are so thankful to Jamie Foxx for lending his voice to this campaign. We have seen a sharp drop in screenings as a result of COVID-19, and this compounds an already significant screening disparity in minority communities,” added Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, CEO of Stand Up To Cancer to The AP.
“With routine screening, colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. It’s beatable in 90% of cases when detected early, and lives can be saved with just one simple step. People must get screened!”

Golfer Tiger Woods is currently recovering at his home after a single-car rollover crash on Feb. 23. While he continues to rehab, the sports world preps for two new tell-all books from his alleged mistresses. Both Jamie Jungers, 38, and Rachel Uchitel, 45, are releasing books detailing their time with Woods.
According to The Sun, Jungers said that she was "deeply in love" with Woods during their reported time together. She said that they were so close and that they used to have "intimate conversations" about everything. Jungers said that Woods used to visit her in Las Vegas during her time living in the desert city. She also claimed that he would fly her out to Los Angeles every other week to visit his home by the ocean.
"I was there when his father died and I remember how quiet and sad he was," Jungers told The Sun in an interview. "He didn’t cry but it was clear he was in a lot of pain." She continued and said that she hopes the book, "Captured By Grace," will help them have a reunion of sorts. "We have been through so much together so I would like to see him and see that he is getting past all the bad stuff we both experienced."
Jungers said that she is not "in love" with Woods anymore and that she has feelings of care and concern. She believes that they will cross paths eventually and discuss similar situations that they have shared. Jungers didn't reveal when the tell-all would hit shelves, but she provided a general timeline. "I have a ghost-writer and the book is finished, so I hope it will be out in the next month or two at the latest," she said.
Uchitel also unveiled plans for her tell-all book during a recent sitdown with Heather McDonald on The Juicy Scoop. She explained that she had started to write a book about her relationships after people said that the alleged relationship with Woods was the "least interesting thing" about her.
"And I decided to really start working on a book on the relationships I've had and found that they are all weaved together by one common bond and that was that I was drawn to them by an addiction to love which I really found out through my stint at Celebrity Rehab," Uchitel added. She explained that she "got wrapped up" in all of the attention from Woods during their time together. Uchitel also said that she "suffered from low self-esteem" due to past "trauma" in her life.
White Headmaster Confronts Black Student And Demands He Kneel And Apologize!
A Long Island Catholic school is under fire after the headmaster, who is white, reportedly made a black, 11-year-old student kneel and give him an apology.
According to TMZ, an English teacher at the St. Martin de Porres Marianist school reportedly caught 11-year-old Trayson Paul working on the wrong assignment during English class, so he ripped up the 6 grader’s paper and sent him to the Headmaster’s office.
John Holian, The Headmaster, allegedly told Trayson to get on his knees and confess his wrongdoing. Then Holian reportedly ordered the child to kneel, telling Trayson that the father of a Nigerian student said it’s the “African way” of apologizing.
Trayson’s mother, Trisha Paul, says her son was very humiliated and feared he was punished so harshly just because of his race.
“Once he started mentioning this African family, that’s when it just clicked. Like, this is not normal procedure. I felt there was no relevance at all. Is he generalizing that everyone who is Black is African? That’s when I realized something is not right with this situation,” Paul told the Daily News.
Holian is now reportedly on temporary leave as the school continues to investigate.
Atlanta Spa Shooting Survivor Whose Wife Was Killed Claims Police Initially Treated Him Like A Suspect!
March In Solidarity With Asian Community Held In Atlanta, After Tuesday Night's Massage Parlor Killings
Aman who survived the Atlanta spa massacre says authorities detained him before telling him his wife, Delaina Ashley Yaun, 33, was killed in the shooting. Fear led Mario González to stay put in his room at Young’s Asian Massage when he heard shots ring out on Tuesday.
But when help arrived, he was treated as a suspect instead of a victim.
González told Mundo Hispánico that authorities assumed he was involved and handcuffed him, causing bruising to his wrists. He couldn’t say for certain if his mistreatment was because of his race. But he said that law enforcement did not seem to believe he was married to Yaun, who was white.
Officers from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene just as González was running outside. Surveillance footage showed González handcuffed and sitting on the curb in front of the shop before he was placed in the back of a squad car.
González said he was detained for hours before anyone told him about his wife. During the interview with Mundo Hispánico, González explained that the couple had booked massages at Youngs Asian Massage.
González and Yaun were getting massages in separate rooms when he heard gunshots. Yuan’s mother Margaret Rushing said the night out was supposed to be a treat for them both.
“She wanted a day just her and her husband, spend a little time together, all she wanted was their massages,” Rushing said during an interview with CBS 46.
Authorities have released the names of the eight victims: Yuan, Paul Andre Michels, 54, Xiaojie Tan, 49, Daoyou Feng, 44, Soon Chung Park, 74, Hyun JungGrant, 51, Suncha Kim, 69, Yong Ae Yue, 63.
Visibly upset during his interview with Mundo Hispánico, González said he didn’t know what he would do without his wife. The couple recently had a baby. A mother of two, Yuan was described by her family as a caring person who would do anything for anyone around her.
As the investigation continues to unfold, questions about officers detaining González could raise a flag. An employee from a nearby business told the Daily Mail that he offered aid to González after the tragedy.
“Mario looked at me and he told me his wife was still inside. He told me to tell the police,” said Alex Acosta, a worker at Gabby’s Boutique located near the spa. When Acosta’s wife told an officer that Gonzalez’s wife was still inside the spa, the cop replied, “I know.”
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department came under fire Wednesday for downplaying the role of race and gender in the killings by claiming the suspect was having a “bad day.” Later that day news broke that Captain Jay Baker, the spokesman for the department, shared Facebook posts about anti-Asian shirts at the start of the pandemic.

Queen Elizabeth is “frustrated” and “puzzled” by her eldest son, Prince Charles — and is more drawn to his younger brother, scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, a royal expert claims in a documentary set to air in the UK Sunday night.
In the program “Queen Elizabeth: Love, Honour and Crown,” from Britain’s Channel 4, author Clive Irving argues that the 94-year-old monarch “has never really understood” Charles, the heir to the UK throne, the Daily Mail reported.

Jason Miller, a spokesman for Trump's 2020 campaign, told the network that Trump would re-enter the social media space with a new platform of his own that would "completely redefine the game."
Miller provided no further details, and no comment was immediately available from officials with the Trump Organization.
Twitter last week said it would seek public input on when and how it should ban world leaders, saying it was reviewing policy and considering whether the leaders should be held to the same rules as other users.
Twitter, Facebook and others have been under scrutiny for the way they handle accounts of politicians and government officials after their ban of Trump for inciting violence.
Facebook, which indefinitely suspended Trump in January, has asked its independent oversight board to decide whether the ban should stand.
