Michael B. Jordan Covers Men’s Health Magazine!

Michael B. Jordan is on the cover of the new April issue of Men’s Health magazine. The actor, director, social-justice activist, and Sexiest Man Alive talks about winning at career chess, finding purpose, becoming a man, and staying in killer shape. The April issue will be available digitally and at retail outlets by March 16.

On his purpose as a young Black creative in Hollywood: “[This past year] was just me really becoming a man, you know. That’s such a cliché, overused term, and it has a lot of baggage to it. But I think when personal purpose and meaning align, it allows you to be a man. I’ve been doing this for 20-plus years…Now I get the opportunity to lead by example.”

Reflecting on his legacy: “[I] think about legacy a lot. What I leave behind is something that I think about a lot. This past year brought a lot of that to the forefront of my brain. Everybody’s had their share of loss in one way or another. I lost a friend in Chadwick [Boseman]. There are a lot of things I want to accomplish, and I know time is limited and life is short, [so] I try to not take it for granted.”

How his breakthrough film Fruitvale Station led to an avalanche of offers: “I’ve passed on a lot, because I can’t play every Black historical figure. There’s other amazing, talented actors out there that should have opportunities for those.”

On coming of age in public view: “For all the success that I’ve had, there’s going to be negative reactions and opinions thrown at me. That just comes with it. When you’re younger, you’re just frustrated, but when you start to realize that this is what it is, you start to understand. I’m never going to make everybody happy. People are always going to have their opinions about me. People can make up something completely false that has no fucking substance or anything, and there’s going to be 100,000 people that are going to believe it and that’s going to be their opinion of me. I can’t do anything about that, and I’ve just got to accept that and keep moving in my purpose. People that know me know my heart. But people that know me for my work…they know what I allow them to know. The fact that I’ve been so closed off about a lot of parts of my life was a personal choice. As I’ve gotten older and a little more mature and comfortable in my own skin, I’ve become less concerned about it.”

#MusicNews: Chaka Khan and Idina Menzel Remake 'I'm Every Woman' For International Women's Day!

Chaka Khan and Idina Menzel have teamed up for a spirited remake of Khan's debut 1978 solo single "I'm Every Woman" to celebrate International Women's Day on Monday (March 8).

The effort is part of humanitarian organization Care's #IMEVERYWOMAN international Women's Day campaign, which will celebrate the strength, resilience and leadership of women around the world throughout March.

The campaign, of course, takes its name from the iconic anthem, whose remake was produced by Grammy-winning songwriter Tena Clark. CARE also released a new music video for the song featuring cameos from activists, trailblazers, frontline heroes, artists, and incredible women from around the world who have benefited from CARE’s programs.

Among the women featured in the clip are activists Dolores Huerta and Ai-jen Poo, advocate Reshma Saujani, chef Stephanie Izard, business leaders Sheryl Sandberg and Tory Burch, actresses Bellamy Young, Alexandra Daddario, and Laverne Cox, and entrepreneur and CARE Global Advocate Iman.

“I am honored to lend my voice to celebrate and inspire women on this International Women's Day. I hope our rendition of ‘I’m Every Woman’ sheds light on the incredible strength of empowered women -- women who are changing the world by leading their communities," said Khan in a statement. "We especially pay tribute to the female heroes who have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 this past year. I stand with CARE and the work they do across the globe to support women and girls everywhere. This International Women’s Day, help CARE and me spread the message that when women are healthy, educated, and thriving, we are all uplifted."

Tony award-winner Menzel added, “I am so thrilled to be a part of this hopeful celebration of strength for International Women’s Day. Our version of ‘I’m Every Woman’ is a beautiful recognition of the power in every woman, especially the heroes on the frontlines who have been working tirelessly this past year to keep us safe and healthy. I know that when we support women, they are truly changemakers for their communities -- 2020 proved that beyond a doubt. I hope that you will join me in supporting women and girls around the world and CARE’s efforts to uplift them as we work to create a better world for all."

Care's campaign will also include a weekly #IMEVERYWOMAN Virtual Conversation Series, with a speaker lineup featuring Mónica Bauer, Nicole Clifton, Laura Coates, Marley Dias, Ingrid Hoffmann, Dolores Huerta, Bianca Lawson, Paola Mendoza, Julie Plec, Asahi Pompey, April Reign, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and more. The conversations will stream Wednesdays during March, beginning March 10, at 3:00 p.m. ET; register to participate here.

“The #IMEVERYWOMAN Campaign illustrates the incredible capacity every woman has to affect change. especially during crises, which is a reflection of our mission and the work we do at CARE to ensure all women can forge their own paths and reach their true potential," said Michelle Nunn, president & CEO of CARE.

The effort will ask participants to send a CARE Package to support women and girls around the world and aid in economic empowerment and fight gender-based violence.

"Partnering with so many extraordinary women, including Chaka and Idina, for this campaign is inspiring to me and I’m so excited we get to share that inspiration with the world,” Nunn added. “It’s been a hard year for so many and I hope this campaign serves as a joyful reminder that women have achieved extraordinary things and will continue to lead the way to build a better world where every woman is valued, heard, respected, and free.”

West Coast unite! Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Too Short and E-40 are getting together to form a super group named “Mt. Westmore.”

The news was first revealed by Too Short in an interview on the Serch Says podcast in December. “So I get a call during the early part of the quarantine from E-40 and Ice Cube going, ‘Man, we feel like we should do an album. Me, you, it’s E-40, Cube, Too $hort and Snoop Dogg. Massage Spa Murders In Georgia Leave 8 Dead, Including 6 Women Of Asian Descent. Robert Aaron Long claims he did it due to ‘Sex Addiction’!

Police on Tuesday arrested a man suspected of opening fire at three massage spas in northern Georgia hours earlier, killing eight people, including six women of Asian descent.

Robert Aaron Long, 21, of Woodstock, Georgia, was apprehended by law enforcement officials while driving to Florida, where he may have planned to carry out additional attacks, authorities said Wednesday during a news conference.

“This could have been significantly worse,” Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said during the news conference. “It is very likely that there would have been more victims.”

Law enforcement officials said Long appears to have acted alone and that it was “too early” to determine whether the shootings were racially motivated.

Long told investigators he has “sexual addiction” issues and targeted the spas in an attempt to “take out that temptation,” Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker said Wednesday.

The rampage began just before 5 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Asian Massage near Acworth, about 40 miles north of Atlanta. Two people were shot and killed inside the business, and two others died after being taken to a hospital. One other person was injured in the attack. Two of those killed were Asian women.

Authorities on Wednesday identified those killed as Delaina Ashley Yaun, 33, of Acworth; Paul Andre Michels, 54, of Atlanta; Xiaojie Yan, 49, of Kennesaw; and Daoyou Feng, 44. The person injured was identified as Elcias R. Hernandez-Ortiz, 30, of Acworth.

About an hour after the shooting at Young’s Asian Massage, police officers responded to a call of a “robbery in progress” at Gold Spa in Atlanta. When they arrived, they found three women had been fatally shot. The officers were then called to Aromatherapy Spa across the street, where another woman was found dead. All four victims were Asian.

Officials have not yet released the names of the Atlanta victims.

South Korea’s foreign ministry told NBC News that four of the women who died Tuesday were of Korean descent, but their nationalities have yet to be verified.

“I want to mention the attacks that happened just a few hours ago in Atlanta, in which several women were killed, including, we believe, four women of Korean descent,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters Wednesday morning. “We are horrified by this violence, which has no place in America or anywhere.”

Surveillance video shows the shooter pulling up to Young’s Asian Massage in Acworth at about 4:50 p.m., according to The Associated Press.

Interim Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that it was about 5:45 p.m. when the four people were found dead at the two businesses on Atlanta’s Piedmont Avenue.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office shared photos of the suspect captured by surveillance footage. Long’s parents saw the photos soon after and identified him to police, Baker said Wednesday.

Homicides are relatively uncommon in Cherokee County, where the first shooting occurred, according to the AJC. The sheriff’s office had investigated just one in 2020 and one in 2019.

The FBI is assisting with the investigation, officials confirmed Wednesday

President Joe Biden was briefed overnight about the shootings, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement Wednesday. “White House officials have been in touch with the Mayor’s office and will remain in touch with the FBI,” she said.

Bottoms commended law enforcement for their “quick work” in arresting Long.

“A motive is still not clear, but a crime against any community is a crime against us all,” Bottoms said in a statement Wednesday. “My prayers are with the families and friends of the victims whose lives were cut short by these shootings.”

In just over a year, there have been an estimated 3,795 reports of racist incidents, including harassment and attacks, against Asian American and Pacific Islander people. The COVID-19 pandemic led to people inflaming hatred toward Asians simply because the virus originated in China.

A collective of AAPI advocacy organizations and scholars known as Stop AAPI Hate compiled the data, which includes at least 503 incidents between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28 this year.

The group found that Asian women were 2.3 times more likely to report being targeted in an incident of anti-Asian racism over the past year. And throughout history, Asian women have been fetishized and hypersexualized.

Stop AAPI Hate said Tuesday that, although there were still no concrete details about the attack, the country has seen a “documented pattern of recent attacks against our community.”

“This latest attack will only exacerbate the fear and pain that the Asian American community continues to endure,” Stop AAPI Hate said in a statement. “Not enough has been done to protect Asian Americans from heightened levels of hate, discrimination and violence. Concrete action must be taken now. Anything else is unacceptable.”

Gayle King Says Prince Harry’s Talks W/ His Father & Brother Have Not Been ‘Productive’, Royals Haven’t Spoken To Meghan Markle At All!

Gayle King has revealed details of a phone conversation she had with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about their relationship with the royals.

On CBS This Morning Tuesday (March 16th), Gayle King said she spoke to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the weekend and they updated her on recent conversations Prince Harry has had with his brother, Prince William, and his father Prince Charles since his and Meghan Markle’s telling interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Gayle King said, “Harry has talked to his brother, and he has talked to his father too. The word I was given, those conversations were not productive. But they are glad they at least started a conversation. I think what’s still upsettig to them is the palace keeps saying they want to work it out privately but yet all these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan still.”

She added that no one in the royal family has spoken to Meghan Markle since the interview aired on March 7th, adding:

“I think it’s frustrating for them to see that it’s a racial conversation about the royal family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate false stories that definitely have a racial slant. Until you can acknowledge that, I think it’s going to be hard to move forward.”

She concluded, “They both want to move forward with this. They both want healing with the family. At the end of the day, that’s Harry’s family.

During the interview, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accused some of the royals of making racist remarks, and alleged that Prince Harry also said his brother and father were “trapped” in the inner workings of the institution.

While the royals have denied Meghan Markle’s claims, Gayle King also previously said she believes the former Suits actress has proof to back them up.

Gayle King trended on Twitter as fans said she should not have shared the details of her conversation with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

LeBron James Reportedly Becomes Red Sox Co-Owner As Fenway Sports Group Partner!

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will be a part-owner of the Boston Red Sox, per reports by the Boston Globe and ESPN.

James has reportedly purchased an undisclosed amount of shares in the Fenway Sports Group (FSG), per the Globe. It makes him a co-owner of its subsidiaries that include the Red Sox, Liverpool Football Club, Rousch Fenway Racing and region sports network NESN. James already owned 2 percent of Liverpool, the English Premier League's current champion, since 2011.

Maverick Carter, James' friend and business partner, is also joining the FSG partnership group. They are now the first Black partners in Fenway Sports Group history. It was founded in 2001 and is now one of the largest sports ownership entities in the world.

The ownership stake stands in contrast to James' noted fandom of the rival New York Yankees. He's even rooted against his hometown Cleveland team in the playoffs.

Alongside news of James' involvement, the group received a $750 million investment from RedBird Capital Partners, per the Globe. Most of that money will reportedly go to Fenway Sports Management, the marketing arm of the group.

They've worked with James for more than a decade and its deep-pocketed involvement signals James will be more involved in FSG operations, sports business writer Michael Silverman wrote for the Globe. In 2019, FSG switched Liverpool's uniform sponsorship to Nike, where James is a signature athlete with a lifetime deal believed to be worth more than $1 billion.

The Boston Red Sox are valued at $3.3 billion and FSG is valued at $6.6 billion, per Forbes. FSG is fourth on the 2021 sports empire lists behind Liberty Media (Formula 1, Atlanta Braves, and the Drone Racing League), Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (Los Angeles Rams, Arsenal FC, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche) and Jerry Jones' package of holdings that includes the Dallas Cowboys.

It was valued above Yankee Global Enterprises, the parent company of the New York Yankees.

Cardi B Claps Back At Washington Times Columnist Tim Young Comparing ‘WAP’ To Dr. Seuss’ Controversy!

After her jaw-dropping Grammy Awards performance, Cardi B had plenty of the time to mix it up on social media with a conservative pundit who tried to dump on her.

On Monday, the hip-hop superstar wasn’t in the mood for the false equivalencies a conservative columnist made about her music and the recent Dr. Seuss controversy.

Cardi B clapped back at comedian and Washington Times columnist Tim Young for claiming children’s author Dr. Seuss is not as popular in schools as “WAP.”

“The lyrics to ‘Wet Ass P---y’ are more welcome in some schools than Dr. Seuss books... just let that sink in for a minute,” Young wrote on Twitter Monday, referring to the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s sexually-explicit duet.

The comparison comes weeks after Dr. Seuss Enterprises removed six of the children’s book author’s titles from circulation for depicting “hurtful and wrong” imagery following New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow broaching the subject in an op-ed titled “Six Seuss Books Bore a Bias.”

Upon learning of Young’s commentary, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper called him out on Twitter.

“When has a school made kids read the lyrics to wap? I get it wap might be a lil vulgar but stop comparing a sensual song to books that has RACIST content,” Cardi B tweeted. “How can ya not tell the difference?I see that common sense aint that common.”

“Conservatives been making viral tweets comparing WAP to the banning of some of Dr Seuss books as if there’s any correlations between the two,” the 28-year-old Bronx native continued in a follow up tweet that lambasted her critics’ comprehension skills.

“By the way Dr Seuss publishing company made the decisions to remove those books on their own,” added Cardi B. “Black people are not the one telling these companies to do things that they think Is ‘progressive’ black only ask for equal justice.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Young finally replied, writing on Twitter: “A famous ex-stripper who used to drug men in order to steal from them went on a 3 tweet rant about my opinion of her gross song yesterday,:

Serial Stowaway Who's Managed to Sneak Aboard At Least 20 Flights Arrested in Chicago!

A woman who, for whatever reason, has spent the better part of the last two decades sneaking aboard an estimated 20-30 flights without a ticket, was arrested again Tuesday at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.

via NYDN: Marilyn Hartman, 69, was detained on the non-secure side of the airport and did not make it past any checkpoints, WGN News reported. Per terms of her release from a previous bust, she was not allowed in the complex.

Hartman, who is so famous for her plane-hopping exploits that she has her own Wikipedia page, was most recently caught in October 2019 after sneaking past checkpoints at O’Hare. At the time, she was on probation from a 2018 conviction.

While Hartman has been busted several times, she’s also avoided detection on many occasions, including on multiple international flights.

Just a day before Tuesday’s arrest, Chicago CBS affiliate WBBM published an interview with Hartman, in which she detailed some of her escapades.

Now you know if she were even the slightest shade darker than white there would be NO way she’d make it past airport security once — let alone 20-30 times.

Halle Berry shares rare pic of daughter for her 13th birthday!

It's not often we get a peek into the lives of Halle Berry's children, but on Tuesday she cracked that window open a bit by sharing a picture of herself and her daughter, Nahla, on the occasion of Nahla's 13th birthday:

"No matter how many times I tell her I love her, I love her more than that. Happy 13th Birthday Nahla Boo," the Oscar winner wrote.

Berry, 54, rarely shares images of her children to protect them from prying eyes. "I've fought really hard to protect their privacy, and I just want them to have their life and have it be theirs,"

Zendaya recalls offensive remarks about her hair from Giuliana Rancic at the 2015 Oscars!

Zendaya recalled the 2015 Academy Awards when she wore her dreadlocks and a controversy was sparked after then Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic joked about her hair. The actress said she was happy she took up the stand for herself.

“That’s how change happens and it made me think, ‘How could I always have a lasting impact on what people saw and associated with people of colour?’” Zendaya told John David Washington in the interview with her Malcolm and Marie co-star.

Giuliana Rancic had said the traditional African hairstyle made Zendaya look like she "smells like patchouli oil or weed." It was the 87th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood Highland Center that took place on February 22, 2015.

The offensive remarks prompted 24-year-old actress to take to Instagram for a lengthy rejoinder. Five years down the line she remembered the episode while talking to W Magazine and expressed satisfaction that she did what was needed.

In her long answer, Zendaya said, "Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect."

“There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair.”

Zendaya pointed out, “[Me] wearing my hair in locs on an Oscars red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough.”

Reacting to her post, Rancic extended an apology on Twitter. The programme host also went on air to give her apology.

Elton John Rebukes Catholic Church For 'Hypocrisy' On Same-Sex Marriage!

Elton John spoke out against the Catholic Church's ruling that it cannot bless homosexual unions, noting that the Vatican had profited off of his 2019 biopic Rocketman.

"How can the Vatican refused to bless gay marriages because they 'are sin,' yet happily make a profit from investing millions in Rocketman — a film which celebrates my finding happiness from my marriage to David?" John asked via Twitter.

John's Twitter post included screenshots of a report on the Vatican's recent statement about same-sex marriage and a report on how the Vatican used money donated for the poor to invest in real estate and Hollywood movies, like Rocketman and Men in Black: International.

The Vatican released a statement over the weekend maintaining the Catholic Church's longstanding position that it cannot bless same-sex marriages, since they involve "sexual activity outside of marriage."

While the church conceded that homosexual relationships can have "positive elements" and that the church could grant blessings to individuals with "homosexual inclinations," it said there are "...no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God's plan for marriage and family."

John, who has two young children with his husband David Furnish, announced that he was gay in 1988, after identifying as bisexual for 12 years prior. John and Furnish entered into a civil partnership in 2005 and officially married in 2014 when same-sex marriage became legal in England and Wales.

Rocketman explores John's life and career from the challenges of his childhood to his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame music career and much of the debauchery in between. The film earned over $200 million at the box office and won numerous awards, including Golden Globes and an Academy Award. It is rated R for sexual content, language and drug use.

The Vatican's recent statement was deflating for many, who believed the Catholic Church was wading into more progressive waters in recent years under Pope Francis.

"Homosexual people have a right to be in a family," the Pope said last October. "They're children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out or made miserable over it."

Spike Lee Chosen As Head Of Jury At The Cannes Film Festival!

Legendary screenwriter and film producer Spike Lee has been named the Cannes International Film Festival head of the competition jury.

Organizers announced on Tuesday that Lee would be the head of this year’s jury, which will take place in France from July 6th to the 17th. He was originally asked to be the head of last year’s jury. However, the pandemic forced organizers to call off the festival.

“For 30 years, the tireless Spike Lee has been an astute chronicler of the questionings of his time, with a resolutely contemporary approach that’s never without a dash of levity and entertainment,” the Cannes festival said in a statement.

This year’s festival was originally slated for May.

Lee is ecstatic about heading the jury, stating, “It’s going to be magnifique! Book my flight now, my wife and I are coming!”

The 63-year-old is no stranger to the festival. Several of his films, including “She’s Gotta Have It,” “Do the Right Thing,” and “BlacKkKlansman,” have all premiered in Cannes. Before the festival was postponed last year, his Netflix hit, “Da 5 Bloods,” was slated to premiere at the prestigious cinema celebration.

Tiffany Haddish Shades Nicki Minaj In Leaked Audio!

Well, it would be safe to assume Tiffany Haddish is not the biggest Nicki Minaj fan.

During a recent appearance in a Clubhouse chat, the 41-year-old comedian and actress threw major shade at the 38-year-old rapper after a fan compared her to Nicki.

“You’re like the Nicki Minaj of comedy right now. You’re just killin’ the motherf***in’ game,” the fan said in leaked audio from the invitation-only audio-chat app.

Another person then shot down the comparison, saying “unlike Nicki, she shows up on time," to which Tiffany replied, “And unlike Nicki, I treat everybody with respect and dignity."

While fans still aren't sure what triggered Tiffany's response or what is behind her beef with Nicki, some have pointed out that their issues may stem from the 2018 MTV VMAs.

When Tiffany made a joke about Fifth Harmony during the show, Nicki called out the comedian later in the evening while accepting a moonman.

"And Tiff, don’t be coming for Fifth Harmony ’cause Normani is that b*tch," the "TROLLZ" rapper said.

From The Sun

BOBBY Brown Jr's autopsy has been placed on a security hold after a request from the LAPD following his sudden death at 28, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

A spokeswoman for the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner/Coroner told The Sun: "A security hold was requested by the Los Angeles Police Department, the investigating law enforcement agency."
