Glamour UK(Digital Issue), Self Love Issue-Jan 2021, Karishma Leckraz, Amber Maddison Davies, Jillian Mercado, Constanza Concha!

GLAMOUR’s second annual Self-Love issue is here and features 10 coverstars talking about how they have embraced the bodies that society told them were ‘different’ – from skin conditions including eczema to life-changing diseases such as ulcerative colitis and muscular dystrophy, and even a ‘taboo’ hair colour. These stars – Nyome Nicholas-Williams, Charli Howard, Abigail Cowen, Esther Calixte-Bea (AKA Queen Esie), Constanza Concha (AKA @skinnoshame), Amber Maddison Davies, Jillian Mercado, Karishma Leckraz, Anitta and Ericka Hart – are defining self love on their own terms.

We asked them to creatively direct these covers themselves, to show themselves in the way they wish to be perceived. These women refuse to define themselves and their relationship with their ‘self’ by outdated societal standards of beauty or by the judgement of others. We hope you find their stories as inspiring as we do and that they empower you to love yourself just the way you are and make the choices you want to make…

#RIP: Dustin Diamond Of ‘Saved By The Bell’ Fame Dies At 44!

Actor Dustin Diamond, who became a teen TV icon portraying Screech on “Saved by the Bell,” died Monday from cancer.

Diamond’s camp announced the diagnosis just three weeks earlier.

Diamond’s longtime representative Roger Paul called the illness a “brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer” via a statement shared with HuffPost.

“In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution,” Paul added. “Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.”

NBC News reports the specific cancer was stage 4 lung cancer.

Diamond rose to fame in 1989 as the lovably nerdy Screech when “Saved by the Bell” premiered on NBC as a Saturday morning sitcom.

He went on to play the character in various series spinoffs including  “Saved by the Bell: The College Years,” and “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” but not the recent reboot on Peacock.

After his days playing Screech ended, Diamond became a reality show mainstay appearing in the fifth season of “Celebrity Fit Club,” “The Weakest Link” and “Celebrity Boxing 2.”

He also was a house member in the 12th season of “Celebrity Big Brother,” according to The Associated Press.

But Diamond had his struggles in real life: He was sued several times for delinquent taxes and in foreclosure proceedings for missing mortgage payments.

He also made a sex tape in 2006, but later told Oprah Winfrey he used a body double.

In 2015, Diamond was sentenced to serve four months in jail for his part in a Wisconsin barroom stabbing.

In his statement, Paul described Diamond as “a humorous and high-spirited individual whose greatest passion was to make others laugh. He was able to sense and feel other peoples’ emotions to such a length that he was able to feel them too — a strength and a flaw, all in one.”

Diamond was survived by his father and his girlfriend, Tash Jules, according to his rep.

#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Just Shared the Sweetest Throwback Photo with Daughter Noelle Robinson!

Like most parents, Cynthia Bailey can’t quite believe how fast her daughter, Noelle Robinson, has grown up. Just a couple of months after commemorating Noelle's 21st birthday, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member is taking a nostalgic look back at her early years of motherhood.

On January 30, Cynthia took to Instagram to share an adorable throwback photo of Noelle as a baby. In the precious picture, the mom can be seen standing in front of a pool in a black bikini while holding a toddler-aged Noelle in her arms and planting a sweet kiss on her daughter’s cheek.

“’Where did the time go?’@noellerobinson,” Cynthia wrote in the caption alongside the flashback photo, also going on to add a hashtag that read, “mother daughter love.”

Noelle’s dad, Leon Robinson, took to the comments to share his own reaction to the sweet pic. “Daddy approved photo,” he wrote, also adding several clapping hand emojis.

This isn’t the first time that Cynthia and Leon couldn’t help but get in their feelings over how fast time flies. When Noelle celebrated her birthday back in November, both parents had some loving messages to share with her on social media. “I never kept track of time or years until you came into my life, now I can remember incredible all 21 of yours, trust!” Leon wrote.

Meanwhile, Cynthia took to Instagram to share several birthday tributes, including one that read, “I pray you have an abundance of love, peace, [and] happiness as you continue your journey into womanhood. I love you!”

#HipHopNews: Kanye West Faces “$30 Million In Damages” From Two Sunday Service Lawsuits!

Kanye West is facing two class-action lawsuits and up to $30 million in damages after allegations that he failed to pay up to 1,000 performers and backstage staff at his ambitious Sunday Service shows.

The lawsuits, according to Page Six, relate to around 500 performers and 300 backstage workers who played a role in the rapper’s shows, which blend Christian worship with live performance.

According to the lawsuit, West broke employment laws at his Hollywood Bowl opera Nebuchadnezzar in November 2019, relating to performers and backstage crew such as make-up artists, hair stylists and costume designers.

The allegations are said to include failing to pay hundreds of employees on time, or not at all, as well as not delivering the overtime wages, meal and rest breaks and business expenses to which employees were legally entitled.

One of the lawsuits, filed by LA employment lawyer Frank Kim, focuses on 500 performers. The other, filed by entertainment attorneys Harris & Ruble, reportedly centres on 300 backstage workers.

Hair stylist Raina Leon and performer Michael Pearson have both represented employees, and allege that they were not paid and failed to secure the rest breaks they were entitled to.

Pearson also claims that some performers were forced to sit on the floor during ten-hour days because there were not enough chairs provided.

A source told The Sun: “When you do things last minute, it’s disorganised, mistakes will happen. When Kanye West does a production, he just says to his guys: ‘Make it happen,’ he has different teams of people to do things, and when you’re under that amount of pressure, you cut corners. Anything with film or music production, they do the art first, it’s a case of ‘let’s get the production done and worry if it’s legal later.”

West is yet to comment on the latest lawsuit.

Keke Wyatt: Black People Aren’t The Only People Who’ve Been Oppressed!

In the midst of a discussion on discrimination toward Black people, the ‘Nothing in this World’ singer resorts to whataboutisms

With the COVID-19 pandemic keeping many people inside, there have been plentiful online outlets to discuss the topic of race and Black oppression, especially with the Black Lives Matter movement reaching a higher profile last year.

When singer KeKe Wyatt appeared on one of these platforms, however, she expressed a different point of view when it comes to prejudice against Blacks, and wasn’t shy about it.

Pop culture site The Neighborhood Talk posted a clip to Instagram of the livestream show The Mahne Tea, which featured the R&B crooner engaged in discussion with four other Black gentlemen, including actor and former Love and Hip-Hop: Hollywood cast member Milan Christopher. During the Bigo livestream, Christopher was heard speaking about how Black Americans “have been segregated, persecuted, hunted down, killed, stolen from and humiliated.”

It was at this point that Wyatt, 38, rolled her eyes in the camera and interrupted Christopher by saying, “and so have Mexicans and so have other people, honey. Black people are not the only ones that have gone through that.”

Christopher expressed that he wanted to finish his statement and later called out the singer for interrupting him and for seeming to speak sarcastically, but Wyatt continued, elevating her voice as she named other races that have suffered, including people of mixed race.

“You have to understand Black people are not the only people that have been oppressed! They are not the only ones, my n—a! Jewish people have been oppressed, okay. I can keep going. I’m biracial! We f—ing oppressed, ’cause Black people done made us feel like sh–! White people make us feel like sh–! You don’t know that life!”

Although she would say to Christopher “there is more to life than us being Black,” she warned that the heated discussion would bring her Black side out if it escalated further.

“I’m a very nice person, but when you bring the n—a out of me, honey it come out,” Wyatt said.

Wyatt has a white mother and her father is of African-American and Native American descent, as she once revealed during a 2009 Essence interview, choosing to claim all aspects of her ethnicity.

“I am a woman. I ain’t like Tiger Woods,” Wyatt told Essence. “The truth is I’m 25% Black. I claim to be Black, Native American and White. I’m all of it. If you ask me, ‘What are you?’ I’m going to say, ‘I’m a woman.’ I stand up for all women.”

During her Essence interview, Wyatt also disclosed that she witnessed the prejudice her parents endured for having a mixed family, which explains her outburst with Christopher that biracial people are also oppressed.

“I used to tell [my mother] we’re not blind to the fact because we’re sitting there listening to people call her a ‘n—er lover’ or accusing my daddy of being a ‘sell out’ because he’s with a white chick,” the “Nothing in This World” singer told the outlet. “I told her she didn’t have to hide that stuff from us because we did see and hear about it, and kids did treat us differently.”

Has Karrueche Tran and Victor Cruz SPLIT? He Reveals He Went Through “A Bit Of A Breakdown” During Pandemic!

With rumors swirling that he and girlfriend Karrueche Tran may have gone their separate ways, Victor Cruz opened up in a new interview about just how hard the pandemic has been for him. With all of the social unrest over police violence this past summer, and of course, all the quarantining, the 34-year-old found himself emotionally spent. Who can’t relate?

“I definitely had a bit of a breakdown,” he shared with Page Six. “Just mentally, you kind of go through these phases of, like, indecisiveness and … ‘What’s the future going to look like?’”

“As a Black man, [there are] even more deep-rooted issues than that,” he added.

It was the support of those in his circle that helped him get through, as he told the publication. They kept him encouraged when he felt anything but.

“Thank God for my close friends, my circle, my people around me, because they kept me focused in times that seemed uncertain or when I needed somebody to talk to,” he said.

One could note that out of all the clutch individuals he mentioned, he didn’t bring up Tran. The two were not together during most of the pandemic, quarantining separately on different coasts. In April, he told Page Six that while he wasn’t pleased with the distance, they were making it work.

“I’m in this solo and it’s not fun at all, but we probably talk 20 hours a day on FaceTime.”

But as we previously mentioned, Cruz and Tran, who are both avid users of social media, have been very quiet lately in terms of sharing much about each other. There haven’t been the old Instagram Lives together. Also, the last time they posted about one another was months ago on their birthdays: Cruz posting Tran in May last and Tran posting Cruz in November. They first started dating in 2017.

Neither party has confirmed or denied the rumors, but Cruz’s mention of his close friends as being his rock and “somebody to talk to” as he pondered about his future during the pandemic definitely says…something.

Wendy Williams Describes Ex-Husband’s Mistress As ‘Less Than Smart’!

Wendy Williams isn’t mincing words. The daytime talk show host, 56, appeared on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” on Thursday and opened up about Sharina Hudson, the longtime mistress of her now-ex-husband Kevin Hunter.

“I was with him for 25 years, in love with him probably from our third date. … [I knew about Hudson] just about the whole 13 years that they were together, and people behind the scenes say it was more like 15 years,” Williams told Cohen.

In typical Williams fashion, the author, whose Lifetime movie and documentary airs on Saturday, didn’t bother with euphemisms to describe Hudson.

“She was one of these less-than-smart women who moved to the big city with bright lights and she wanted to be a model,” Williams shared.

The “Wendy Williams: What a Mess!” subject said Hudson used to work bottle service at a club party she hosted, where Williams would encourage them to flirt with men — including Hunter — to get them to spend more money.

“Kevin’s problem is that Kevin ended up getting with this girl. She made herself very available to him. She was very disrespectful to me,” Williams said. “Do you know he had the nerve to tell me that she admires me?”

When asked if Hudson and Hunter are still together, Williams replied she didn’t know. However, she did acknowledge that Hunter and Hudson’s daughter, Journey, would be turning 2 in March.

Gabrielle Union And Dwyane Wade To Release ‘Shady Baby’ Children’s Book!

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade will be releasing their new children’s book on May 18 titled Shady Baby. The book, inspired by their three-year-old daughter Kaavia James, is illustrated by Tara Nicole Whitaker and will be released through Harper Collins Publishing.

Gabrielle announced the news on Instagram, “@kaaviajames has an opinion … and soon she will share it with the world. @dwyanewade and I are so excited to announce Shady Baby, our picture book which teaches kids to use their moral compass and inner strength to choose kindness and compassion and to stick up for themselves and others.”

Shady Baby is about a young girl who visits a park and encounters a few bullies. She eventually learns to stand up and defend herself as well as the other little tykes. Wade and Union hope that through this story, they can change the meaning of “shady” and show little Black girls and boys that it is important to stand up for themselves and others.

“We hope to give the word ‘shady’ a more positive association and use it to represent one’s moral compass to do the right thing and stand up for themselves and others. It’s important that little Black girls and boys get to see themselves in these fairy tales and for children of other races to see us in leadership roles,” the couple explained during an interview with People magazine.

Kaavia James is a star in her own right and has over 1.5 million Instagram followers. “This is our first children’s book we did together and we’re so excited for the world to read Shady Baby. Inspired by our daughter, Kaavia James, we wanted to create a children’s book that not only had a little Black girl as the main character but that also reflects the global community we live in.” the celebrity couple told People. adding,

Shady Baby will retail for $20 and is available for pre-order at www.harpercollins.com.

Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms ‘Sex And The City’ Reboot Will Tackle Coronavirus Pandemic!

Ever since the HBO Max Sex and the City revival was announced earlier this month, details about the show have slowly emerged.

Sarah Jessica Parker spoke to Vanity Fair on Friday, where she confirmed the limited series would tackle the subject of the coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic will “obviously be part of the storyline because that’s the city [these characters] live in,” Parker told the publication. “And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all.”

Lenny Kravitz Remembers Godmother Cicely Tyson In Emotional Tribute!

On Friday, singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz remembers his late Godmother Cicely Tyson in a lengthy emotional tribute.

In a series of pictures on his Instagram of the two, Kravitz remembers Tyson as a woman “with inimitable style and grace.”

“My dear Godmother Miss Cicely Tyson made her grand exit to the heavens. She lived a remarkable life up to the last moment,” he said. “A true pioneer, who bared her heart and soul so we could witness the spirit of the characters she so brilliantly portrayed, which continue to move and inspire generations.”

“A Black queen who showed us how beautiful black is,” Kravitz continues.

He went onto explain how Tyson’s role in his life was amplified following his mother’s death — they “were kindred spirits. Sisters,” he wrote.

From what he wrote, anyone would be able to tell that their relationship was a great one.  Tyson was always present for his shows. She “came over for holidays, met me for dinners, stayed with me in Paris when I first moved there, and never let me too far out of her sight. Our phone calls went on sometimes for hours.”

He reveals in the post that he and Tyson spoke just days before her sudden passing.

“Rest peacefully, Godmother. You did it all exquisitely,” he ended with.

Kravitz’s full tribute:

“With inimitable style and grace, my dear Godmother Miss Cicely Tyson made her grand exit to the heavens. She lived a remarkable life up to the last moment. A true pioneer, who bared her heart and soul so we could witness the spirit of the characters she so brilliantly portrayed, which continue to move and inspire generations.

A Black queen who showed us how beautiful black is. The love between us was and is tremendous.  As long as I have had consciousness, I’ve known Godmother. She and my mother were kindred spirits. Sisters. And after my mother passed, Godmother’s role in my life was amplified.  I constantly felt her spirit over me. She always gave me unconditional support. She came to my shows, came over for holidays, met me for dinners, stayed with me in Paris when I first moved there, and never let me too far out of her sight. Our phone calls went on sometimes for hours. We spoke just a few nights ago and talked about everything. She had just sent me her book that has been sitting on my nightstand where it will remain. She did it all, wrote the book, and then God called her. I can hear Godmother saying  “ok, now y’all can read about it, I’m going home”. Rest peacefully, Godmother. You did it all exquisitely #CicelyTyson“
