Black Mamba 'Guardian Angels' by Pieter Hugo for Vogue Italia January 2021!

One of the most positive advancements in the world of animal conservation in Africa is the creation of exclusively women ranger units. AOC has tracked this development for several years, since I first read about Faye Cuevas — another Minnesota-born woman out and about in the world.

Cuevas worked in U.S. military intelligence for 17 years and has hunted terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. She also helped fight the Lord's Resistance Army of brutal Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony. Today Cuevas is the strategic, on-the-ground brains behind Kenya’s anti-poaching initiative.

More about Faye later, because today we turn our attention to South Africa’s Black Mamba, featured in the January 2021 issue of Vogue Italia.

Balule Nature Reserve, in the Greater Kruger Area, South Africa. The area is fenceless, to aid the movement of animals throughout the majestic terrain. Women featured in these images (but not necessarily the videos) Yenzekile Mathebula 28 years old, Nocry Mzimba 26, Qolile Mathebula 26, Naledi Malungane 19, Tsakane Nxumalo 25.

Vogue Italia interviews Craig Spencer of Transfrontier Africa NPC (a non-profit company that manages protected areas) and that protects the borders of the reserve, 62,000 hectares. South African photographer Pieter Hugo is behind the lens for ‘Guardian Angels’ with styling by Raphael Hirsch.

At a time when wildlife rangers often have their own arsenal of high-powered weapons and the latest GPS technology available, the most results-driven projects in animal conservation involve the women.  Recent deaths in the Congo’s Virunga National Park have seriously raised concerns that the militarization of rangers has put them at odds with local communities.

Yes, the poachers are the bad guys. But there can also be deep resentment at a local level towards the rangers.

Conservation Conflicts: Why Rangers in the Congo’s Virunga National Park Are Under Attack

Initially the Black Mamba weren’t armed but increasingly, the women not only carry major weaponry but they survive military training that turns them into an elite fighting force.   The women rangers aren’t the brain child of some pacifist NGO. They are nurtured by nearly-famous, anti-terrorism sharpshooters in some cases, like Australian Damien Mander,

What remains different about the women rangers Black Mambas in South Africa, the Akashinga in Zimbabwe, or Faye Cuevas’ Team Lioness in Kenya is that the women often have young children, have deep ties into local communities, have reverence for nature, and have a fearless determination to create a good life for their children, their siblings and the entire community.

“There’s a saying in Africa, ‘If you educate a man, you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a nation’,” Mander says. “We’re seeing increasing evidence that empowering women is one of the greatest forces of change in the world today.”

The Black Mamba have earned the Champions of the Earth Award, the United Nations highest environmental honor.

We underscore the ripple effect of community by discovering The Bush Babies, an offshoot of the Black Mamba that is devoted to creating greater environmental awareness in communities of the Balule Private Nature Reserve. Check out the Black Mamba on Instagram.

I’ve watched the entirety of the video below, and it’s very informative on so many aspects of the challenges the Black Mamba face in the anti-poaching effort.  If you would like to support this important global organization that is a paradigm for other nations around the world, visit the Black Mamba website. #RIP: Cloris Leachman, Legendary Emmy- And Oscar- Winning Actor, Dies At 94!

Cloris Leachman — one of the most decorated actors in television history, best known for playing nosy neighbor Phyllis on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," and an Academy Award winner — died on Wednesday. She was 94.

She died of natural causes at her home in Encinitas, California, spokesperson Monique Moss confirmed to NBC News.

Leachman won eight Emmy Awards over the course of her storied television career, tied with Julia Louis-Dreyfus for most individual acting awards in Emmy history. Leachman's Facebook cover shot depicts her sitting on a couch, surrounded by golden pals.

The late actress, inducted into the the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences's Hall of Fame in 2011, won best supporting actress for a comedy series in 1974 and 1975 for her "MTM" work, as Moore's snobbish neighbor Phyllis Lindstrom.

The show and character were so popular, Leachman was spun off into her show "Phyllis."

She won the 1973 Emmy for best leading actress in the TV movie, "A Brand New Life," playing a first-time mother in middle age — a daring act in the era. In real life, Leachman was 46 when that "ABC Movie of the Week" aired on Feb. 20, 1973.

Other Emmy wins included the 1975 best supporting actress in a variety or musical for her work in "Cher," in 1984 for best variety performance in the "Screen Actors Guild 50th Anniversary Celebration" and in 1988 for best actress in a guest role for "Promised Land."

Younger TV fans probably know Leachman best for "Malcolm in the Middle," playing Malcom's hilariously scheming grandmother. She was also a contestant on the 2008-09 season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and at the time the oldest competitor in show history at age 82.

Those "Malcolm" gigs earned Leachman Emmy Awards in 2002 and 2006 for best guest actress in a comedy.

Despite all those wins, Leachman insisted she went into every awards night assuming she wasn't going home with a statue.

“I never had a speech because I never thought I was going to win," Leachman told the TV academy in a 2015 interview.

"But if you are good at what you do — and I always intend to be good at what I do — then the acclaim is just the follow-through. But it is a wonderful feeling.”

The actress also passed away with one Oscar statue on her mantle, earning the 1971 award for best supporting actress in "The Last Picture Show." She played Ruth Popper, the lonely wife of the town's high school football coach.

Her film career also included a fan-favorite performance as Frau Blücher in Mel Brooks' comedy classic, "Young Frankenstein."

"Such sad news—Cloris was insanely talented," Brooks tweeted on Wednesday. "She could make you laugh or cry at the drop of a hat. Always such a pleasure to have on set. Every time I hear a horse whinny I will forever think of Cloris’ unforgettable Frau Blücher. She is irreplaceable, and will be greatly missed."

But through all of those accolades, Leachman will be best known as "Mary's" neighbor and landlady. Of the the actors who were in as many or more "MTM" episodes than Leachman, the deceased include Moore, Ted Knight, Georgia Engel and Valerie Harper.

Surviving "MTM" cast member Ed Asner tweeted a photo of himself with Leachman on Wednesday, saying, "Nothing I could say would top the enormity of my love for you."

When Moore passed away in 2017, Leachman said Mary Richards' sunny demeanor matched reality off stage.

“The picture that we all have of Mary, that’s how she was—sweet, kind, so tender, so delicate," Leachman said. "She was America’s sweetheart. We loved you.”

In the show, Leachman's Phyllis frequently and hilariously clashed with Harper's Rhoda, in on-screen conflicts that were the total opposite of real life.

"'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' was a gorgeously written show. My character, Phyllis, wanted Mary to be her best friend … and she couldn’t stand Rhoda. Ha! In reality, Valerie and I were best friends," Leachman told the TV academy n 2015.

The veteran actress had slowed down in recent years. In a 2015 interview with "Today," Leachman struggled getting out of a chair.

"I'm going get up, it's very difficult, I can get this far," an 89-year-old Leachman said, putting her hands on the chair's arms and pushing herself up several inches before freezing.

Even with a slower body, Leachman showed her comedic mind was sharp as ever with a perfectly timed, "And then you come in," signaling for co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, who came to her rescue.

Leachman credited her initial interest in radio and television to her mother, also named Cloris, who encouraged the young Cloris to explore her creative side.

"Momma never pushed me to anything, always an invitation," Leachman said at her 2011 induction to the TV academy's Hall of Fame.

The Iowa born-and-raised Leachman is among the many famous actors who studied at Northwestern University. Her move to the outskirts of Chicago led Leachman to compete in the 1946 Miss America competition as Miss Illinois.

"She loved her children and her grandchildren ferociously," Leachman's longtime manager Juliet Green said in a statement after her death. "A lifelong vegetarian, she was a passionate advocate for animal rights. The family requests that any donations in her name be made to PETA or Last Chance for Animals."

She's survived by sons Morgan Englund, Adam Englund and George Howe Englund Jr. and daughter Dinah Englund. Leachman's former husband, and the father of her five children, George Englund, passed away in 2017, and son Bryan Englund died in 1986.

#RHOA: THIS JUST IN! Is Andy Cohen ‘Ready To Offer a Contract To Shereé Whitfield to Retuen to RHOA?

Is Andy Cohen serious about inviting Shereé Whitfield back? Whitfield was one of the OG stars of RHOA and held a peach for the first four seasons. The reality TV personality took a break from the show for three seasons and returned as a friend for season 8. It was for season 9 when she once again came back as a full-time housewife. Whitfield once again left the show following season 10.

Watch What Happens Live recently hosted a group of Bravo fans who played a game with Cohen. The late-night show host played with his guests, “Bring Back That Wife,” where they took turns explaining which former housewife they would want to return.

Sasha Morfaw of The Bravo Breakdown on IGTV suggested Whitfield be given back her peach.

“The OG, bone collector Shereé Whitfield,” Morfaw said enthusiastically. “No one does it like her. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, she will shift the wig if she hast to. And let’s not forget, ‘Who’s gonna check me boo,’ and I need my joggers Shereé. Bring back She by Shereé.”

Cohen loved the passion that Morfaw exhibited while making her plea for a Whitfield comeback and hinted he was down with the idea.

“Oh boy! I’m ready to send the contract,” Cohen added.

When RHOA started filming season 13 of the show, Whitfield posted a cryptic message that gave fans hope she was returning.

“She’s Baaackkkkk…..What I miss yall????” she posted on Instagram back in August 2020. “Feeling great, healthy, and happy.”

Many fans interpreted this message as a sign she was coming back to the show and filming with the ladies. However, weeks prior Whitfield had announced she had COVID-19. The post turned out to be about her return to social media after her absence while her health got better.

In May of 2020, Whitfield made an appearance on WWHL where Cohen asked if she would ever consider returning to the show that made her a star.

“I would never say never,” Whitfield said. “We had a good time over there. When we’re having a good time it’s good… I’m in a different place right now and I would not say no.”

Whitfield left the door open for negotiations to take place for her return. However, it also seemed that she was good not being on the show and living her best life off the spotlight.

“I’m feeling good,” she told Hollywood Life in another interview. “I’m just living simple, focusing on the things that I love which is health and wellness right now and empower and inspire other women. [Bravo and I] would have to have some conversations. Like I said, when I’m with the girls, sometimes we have an amazing time and it’s an amazing platform, no doubt.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.

#MusicNews: Drake Wants To See An Usher And Justin Timberlake Verzuz!

Drake is here for an Usher and Justin Timberlake Verzuz.

During his appearance on ESPN2’s “Jalen & Jacoby,” Timbaland was asked about one of the most requested battles between the music superstars. It turns out that not only have fans been hitting him up about an Usher vs. JT matchup, but Drake also wants to see it happen.

“Yes, we know,” Timbaland said when Jalen asked about the potential pairing. “It’s so funny, Drake hit me up too about it, too. He said, ‘We gotta make that happen.’ I’m like, ‘Soon to come. Soon to come.'”

Timbaland also fielded other potential Verzuz battles including No Limit vs. Cash Money and Missy Elliott vs. Busta Rhymes. “It is, to me, the best party that could ever happen on Verzuz,” he said of the latter. “It’s just a matter of comfort zone of my sister wanting to celebrate with her brother and understanding that it’s not competition. It’s a party.”

Tim has already ran the idea by Missy. “I’ve been working on that and talking to her but I think that would be an amazing Verzuz,” he added.

Timbaland also suggested a Michael Jackson vs. Prince Verzuz, while Swizz shared his dream pairing of two late hip-hop legends–The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. And Timbaland may already be thinking of a way to make the posthumous battles happen. “I got a couple ideas. I’ma text you,” he told Swizz.

Swizz applauded the platform for bringing rivals like Gucci Mane and Jeezy together. “We in a different day and age where we gotta show the youth how to celebrate, and it’s an educational celebration,” he said. “A lot of the artists that may have their differences should think about this and make it more about themselves and make it more about the people.”

Thursday’s long-awaited Verzuz with Keyshia Cole and Ashanti set a new viewership record on Instagram, with over 6 million total viewers, and another 1.6 million on Apple Music.

#HipHopNews: French Montana Reveals He Has A Collaboration with Jay-Z in The Works!

French Montana is known for his close connections with the most powerful players in the music industry and has worked with almost all the biggies. One person that he’s yet to collaborate with officially is Jay-Z.

But that will probably change soon. The New York rapper is a guest on the latest episode of veteran UK DJ Semtex’s Hip Hop Raised Me podcast where he revealed for the first time that he has a song with Hov in the works. The topic came up when Semtex asked how he’s been able to have a good relationship with the top artists in the game. He then expanded on how Jay was the only person he hasn’t worked with.

“The only person I haven’t worked with yet and we just found the song – I mean, I worked with him on other people’s songs, but me and him never had like, you know, one of the Montana hook.. is Jay-Z. And we finally found the song…so you know, you got the news first!” he said. “So we just finally found song me and him been going back and forth, so hopefully that’ll go down.”

Semtex then grilled the Coke Boys boss on how it came together. “I was playing this song for somebody in the studio, and the artist just grabbed me and just started wrinkling my shirt like “Yo! What is this?” And Jay-Z happened to see that and Jay-Z was like “Yo that record is crazy!” You know what I’m saying? He was like “Yo let me get motivated to write a 16 on this real quick…” and I was like ‘Alright’,” he said.

French also spoke on working with ‘Whoopty’ hitmaker CJ, his last project Coke Boys 5 and more

Zendaya Says Being a 'Disney Kid' Is Part Of Her 'Heritage'!

Zendaya isn’t ashamed of being labeled a Disney kid.

The 24-year-old Euphoria actress spoke to Carey Mulligan about her time on the channel as a star of several of their television shows and revealed that her time on Disney is a part of who she is.

“You surely can’t think of yourself as a Disney kid now,” Carey noted in their interview for Variety‘s Actors on Actors while mentioning Zendaya‘s recent Emmy win.

But Zendaya doesn’t mind it.

“The thing is, I am. And to a degree, I am grateful for that. That’s where I started, and I learned so much from that experience,” she shared.

Zendaya added, “It’s just kind of been this slow progression, and I am happy that it’s all been to prove it to myself and not to anybody else, you know? I embrace it a little bit. It’s part of my heritage to a degree.”

The two actresses also spoke about Carey‘s new movie, Promising Young Woman, during the video interview.

Recently, Zendaya has been in Atlanta filming for Spider-Man 3

Inaugural Poet Amanda Gorman Signs With IMG Models!

The agency will focus on building the poet's profile through brand endorsements and editorial opportunities.

Amanda Gorman's climb continues as the inaugural poet has signed with IMG Models.

The 22-year-old Los Angeles native, who recited her original work "The Hill We Climb" on Jan. 20 and instantly became the breakout star of the inauguration ceremony as the world looked on, now has a team of reps that includes Writers House, WME and the law firm Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown and Passman. As Gorman's partner in the fashion and beauty industries, IMG Models will focus on building her profile through brand endorsements and editorial opportunities.

About that profile: Following her turn at the podium, Gorman mingled and took photos with former first couples Barack and Michelle Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton. She received well wishes online from Oprah Winfrey and Lin-Manuel Miranda and made appearances on Good Morning America and on CNN with Anderson Cooper. Her upcoming books — The Hill We Climb and Other Poems and the children’s book Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem — shot to the top of Amazon’s best-seller charts ahead of September debuts.

It's safe to say that all eyes are on Gorman to see what she does next. Meanwhile, she’s already got millions following those moves. Following Inauguration Day, her social media footprint skyrocketed and she went from 7,000 Twitter followers to 1.4 million. On Instagram, she racked up north of 3.1 million followers and counting. The fashion industry also took notice thanks to a look by Prada and accessories including a caged bird ring and earrings gifted to her by Winfrey. WWD dubbed Gorman "a new kind of style icon," while Vogue reported that the red headband she wore is already sold out.

Kenan Thompson Will Still Be with the cast of ‘SNL’ while filming his new show ’Keenan’!

Kenan Thompson will be racking up the air miles as he travels between his new NBC sitcom Kenan and Saturday Night Live.

The comedian and co-star Chris Redd will be going back and forth from Los Angeles and New York to film both shows.

During a virtual press conference, he said that he’s only down in once for the SNL Christmas show but will see how it feels moving forward.

“We’ll see how exhausting it gets when it has to become a repeat kind of a thing but we did it for the Christmas show and me and Chris went out there on Friday and showed up at rehearsal that night and ended up doing the show and then we had three weeks off before we had to be on another job. It wasn’t that stressful but we’ll see how that turns around when it’s only one day in between, but I’ll be rushing back to my new family so I won’t be overly exhaustive because we’ll hold each other up.”

Thompson added that “we live in a different time” with regards to SNL, where it used to be that people would “leave the show and go into their careers” but that is no longer the case.

Chris Redd added that he loves doing both scripted and sketch shows, particularly with one of his best friends. “I don’t want to see it as an exit strategy I just kind of see it as it another way to create,” he said.

Lorne Michaels, who exec produces Kenan, previously said that one of the reasons that Kenan was able to do both this show and Saturday Night Live was that shows like this are now ten episodes. “He’ll go back and forth to Los Angeles. But Kenan can come in the day before and he’ll be fine; he just knows the drill so well,” he told New York magazine.

Thompson said that the show, launching February 16, is the third iteration of the show. It was originally piloted in 2019 with Jackie Clarke writing and Chris Rock directing but was re-developed with David Caspe joining as showrunner and Clarke co-writing. Don Johnson also replaced Andy Garcia in the series.

Thompson said that developing the show outside of the traditional pilot process helped. “It was going in one direction for the original pilot that we shot and Chris Rock was involved in that was great and then we had a moment and an opportunity to sit down with it and flesh it out even further as opposed to being in the pressure of pilot week,” he said. “We’ve stretched it out to where it is right now and I think we’re all pretty grateful that we had a chance to live with the material for a while. The universe just unfolded in a way to where we have the cast we’re currently dealing with now.”

The cast also talked about filming the show during the Covid-19 pandemic. The table reads were initially done over Zoom and Thompson said that made them “weird” and “choppy”.

Chris Redd’s internet was so bad that the production sent him a wi-fi booster. “It would only go out when he was about to hit a punch line,” said Kimrie Lewis.

Don Johnson added that the only times he saw his cast members faces was when they were in character.

“When we were able to get in person everything just clicked so we were beyond happy to just be in a room together finally doing things,” added Thompson.

Kenan follows a widowed dad, Kenan (Thompson), who’s juggling a high-profile job as the host of an Atlanta morning show and raising his two girls. As Kenan tries to move on, his father-in-law (Johnson), brother (Redd) and co-workers all have strong opinions on the best way to live his life.

The show centers on the familial relationships as Kenan tries to reclaim his life after his wife’s death. Kenan’s daughters are his world – the too smart Aubrey (Dani Lane) and the silly, unpredictable Birdie (Dannah Lane). He struggles to balance parenting them as a single dad and hosting his show, which leads him to reluctantly accepting help from his father-in-law. Rick was a gallivanting sax player when his daughter, Cori (Niccole Thurman), was young and missed out on a lot of her childhood, so he is aiming to make that up with his granddaughters, although his old-school parenting style doesn’t often match up to Kenan’s.

At work, Kenan excels at his job with the help of his driven executive producer Mika (Lewis). Mika can be tightly wound, especially when Gary, as Kenan’s not-so-managerial manager, tries to insert himself, but Mika remains a confidante and ally to Kenan. They are able to be vulnerable with one another and connect as friends … and maybe something more.

Lorne Michaels, David Caspe, Jackie Clarke, Kenan Thompson, Ken Whittingham and Andrew Singer serve as executive producers. Kenan is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Broadway Video.

Hank Aaron's Cause of Death Has Been Revealed!

Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron died at the age of 86 on Friday, and the cause of death has been revealed. According to PEOPLE, who spoke to an investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office in Georgia, Aaron died of natural causes. The Braves previously said that the Baseball Hall of Famer "passed away peacefully in his sleep."

"We are absolutely devastated by the passing of our beloved Hank. He was a beacon for our organization first as a player, then with player development, and always with our community efforts," Braves Chairman Terry McGuirk wrote in the statement. "His incredible talent and resolve helped him achieve the highest accomplishments, yet he never lost his nimble nature. Henry Louis Aaron wasn't just our icon, but one across Major League Baseball and around the world," he added. "His success on the diamond was matched only by his business accomplishments of the field and capped by his extraordinary philanthropic efforts."

The last time Aaron was seen publicly was earlier this month when he received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with his wife Billye. At the time, Aaron told the Associated Press: "I don't have any qualms about it at all, you know. I feel quite proud of myself for doing something like this. It's just a small thing that can help zillions of people in this country." After Aaron's death, a number of notable baseball players, celebrities and former presidents paid tribute to the former home run king.

"Hank Aaron was one of the best baseball players we've ever seen and one of the strongest people I've ever met," former President Barack Obama wrote in a statement last week. "Humble and hardworking, Hank was often overlooked until he started chasing Babe Ruth's home run record, at which point he began receiving death threats and racist letters—letters he would reread decades later to remind himself 'not to be surprised or hurt.'"

Aaron is one of the best baseball players of all-time. Along with hitting 755 home runs (which was an all-time record when he retired), Aaron recorded 3,771 hits and drove in 2,297 runs. His hit total ranks third all-time, and he's still the career leader in RBIs. Aaron helped the Braves win the World Series in 1957 (the team was in Milwaukee at the time) and won the MVP award the same year.

Tyrese Trounced For Posting Disturbing Message On Social Media!

In this information superhighway era, perhaps only rapper Bow Wow gets flogged more times than singer Tyrese for posting weird, questionable or downright laughable content on social media.

Tyrese Darnell Gibson, 42, was pummeled publicly when he left a curious comment beneath the beautiful anniversary tribute that gospel singer Kirk Franklin wrote to his wife for their 25th wedding anniversary.

Tyrese did not craft congratulatory words or cloak the Franklins in love on their most momentous milestone. Instead, Tyrese took a different route that the couple’s followers found shameful.

Fans looked askance at Tyrese after he turned Franklin’s homage to his wife into a display of his marital woes with his estranged spouse, Samantha, who recently filed for divorce. Social media got busy lambasting the Fast & Furious star for the message, the timing and the placement of his thoughts.

“Happy Happy Happy Anniversary!!!!!! Magic Magic and more magic,” Tyrese wrote, according to The Shade Room. “Dear Samantha this was supposed to be us…. remember the franklins was our marriage GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!! Smiling smiling…….I’m gonna get her back watch me! [ I think ]”

The post has since been deleted, but not before TSR and others were able to screenshot the message and send it ricocheting through cyberspace.

Meek Mill Disables His Social Media Accounts!

Rapper Meek Mill has abruptly disabled his social media accounts, leading fans to speculate over what motivated his departure.

As of Tuesday, fans looking to catch up with Meek were met with deleted accounts across social media platforms. While it is unclear what led the Dream Chasers frontman to take a hiatus from Instagram and Twitter, many speculate that he may have new music coming. The practice of shutting down social media platforms is popular amongst artists when a new project is on the horizon. There is also the possibility that the “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper just needed a break, considering the constant criticism that he receives on social media.

In recent weeks, Meek has found himself at odds on Clubhouse with DJ Akademiks, who recently claimed that the rapper was in the Bahamas with former rival Drake, shooting a music video. However, that news has not been confirmed.

Since Meek Mill has unexpectantly fallen silent, fans have no choice but to wait patiently for his return.

Bankruptcy Judge Awards $17 Million To Harvey Weinstein Victims!

A U.S. bankruptcy judge in Delaware has approved a Weinstein Company liquidation plan that includes a $17 million allocation to Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assault victims.

Video Player is loading.

An attorney for the Weinstein Company confirmed the settlement to CNN on Monday. The $35.2 million liquidation plan allocates $17,064,525.30 to establish a “Sexual Misconduct Claims Fund.” According to the outlet, it creates a liquidation trust for the payment of sexual misconduct claims, according to court documents.

“It is true that Judge (Mary) Walrath approved the settlement plan at a hearing today,” said Attorney Paul Zumbro. They are “pleased with Judge Walrath’s ruling, and particularly so given there is now a mechanism that allows victims to receive compensation without having to endure the hardships and uncertainties of litigation,” he added.

The Weinstein Company Holdings LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2018, along with 54 affiliate companies. The company was later sold to Lantern Capital, a Dallas-based private equity firm, for $310 million.

In March 2020, Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison on criminal sexual acts and rape charges. Weinstein still faces six additional sexual charges in Los Angeles.
