Cardi B for Billboard Magazine - December 2020!
Rapper Cardi B is the latest cover star for Billboard, in honor of her being named their 2020 Woman of the Year. For the feature, she sat down for a Skype interview with Billboard‘s hip-hop editor about her sex-positive anthem “WAP,” her business acumen and feelings on politics.

No stranger to controversy or scrutiny, Cardi B, 28, received heaps of backlash over her latest raunchy single with Megan Thee Stallion—especially from Republican conservatives. “So many Republicans…[like Ben] Shapiro, Candace Owens, Tomi Lahren — were talking so much crap about “WAP,” she said. She later went on to talk about why she’s so unfazed by attacks from political commentators, saying “The things that they say don’t make sense. A lot of things they be defending, it’s not something you need to be defending. It’s wrong.”
The artist is also a rising business woman, having inked lucrative deals with Pepsi, Reebok, and even the content platform, OnlyFans within the past year. During the interview, she spoke about the importance of understanding your worth and a figure and brand. “A lot of these companies, they want to give you a couple million dollars to represent them, and it’s like, ‘OK, but what am I really getting out of it?,’ she posed. “If 1% of my followers buy your product, you’re going to make triple what you’re paying me. I’m making sure I’m not selling myself short.”

Cardi isn’t itching to call herself an activist, even though she conducted live talks with Senator Bernie Sanders and President-elect Joe Biden and isn’t shy about speaking on political happenings. She says that she simply believes in justice and is willing to call out the necessary people to achieve social goals. Yet even with that, she still believes in the power of her duality as a woman.
“I want to show people that you can do positive things, but you can also be yourself,” she said. Later adding, “I don’t know if I’m an activist. I’m a Libra — we are the justice sign. I like fairness, and I have compassion toward everybody.”

#RHOA: #TWIRL Kenya Moore Says Date With Kanye West 'Was a Disaster'!
Kenya Moore claimed she once had a date with Kanye West and it was definitely memorable, if not successful.
During a virtual visit to the "The Wendy Williams Show," the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star said she went out with the "Gold Digger" rapper and the experience had an "explicit" ending.

"I did go out with Kanye once," the 49-year-old former beauty queen told Wendy. "That was a disaster."
"Somehow, we ended up going to his house and there was, like, some very explicit things on TV," she continued with a smirk. "I was lost, he left me alone, I was just there for like five minutes, wandering around his house. When I followed the noises, he was watching something on TV that he probably shouldn't have been."

"So, that was my exit!" she added, without specifying when the date occurred. "As much as I love him, it was just the craziest thing."
Meanwhile, Kenya is focused on repairing her relationship with her estranged husband, Marc Daly, for the sake of their two-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.

"We are trying to navigate this whole thing with us being separated and the fact that we have a young child together," she explained to Wendy. "Our priority is always going to be Brooklyn. And I put her first. And if that means that we have to celebrate Thanksgiving together, or Christmas together or throw her her birthday parties together -- then that's what it will be because she is everything to me and I would sacrifice anything for her."
After Wendy asked Kenya if she was still in love with Mark and when they last had sex, Kenya replied, "I can say this Wendy and I've been very honest about this on the show -- we are constantly evolving."

"We were headed down the road of divorce and you'll have to watch the show where we end up, but with Mark, I'll always have love for him because he gave me the most beautiful gift that anyone could have given me in my entire life and that's Brooklyn."

She added, "So I will always have love for him, but we just don't always speak the same language."
Kenya went on to say Marc is "trying to fight" for the pair to get back together, but she is done fighting for it.

"I'm the prize and if a man doesn't recognize that, then please go to the next woman."

#HipHopNews: Chance The Rapper Being Sued By Former Manager For $3 Million!
Chance The Rapper is facing a big-time lawsuit from his longtime manager.
According to court documents, obtained by XXL on Friday (Dec. 4), Chance's former manager, Pat The Manager, whose real name is Pat Corcoran, filed a legal complaint against the rapper in the State of Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County on Nov. 30. Corcoran accuses his former client of breach of contract, unjust enrichment—unreimbursed expenses—and violation of the Illinois Sales Representative Act.

Corcoran is suing Chance The Rapper in excess of $3 million.

Chance and Corcoran had been working in tandem since 2012, prior to the Chicago rhymer catapulting to stardom. However, things reportedly changed after the release of Chano's The Big Day album in 2019. Corcoran claims that Chance disregarded his professional advice and also blamed him for the lack of success of the effort.
The documents state that "following fan disappointment in Bennett's [Chance The Rapper] most recent album and underwhelming fan support for its associated tour, Bennett replaced Corcoran with Ken and Taylor Bennett, his father and brother, and now refused to honor the terms of his agreement with Corcoran."

As a result, Corcoran is suing Chance The Rapper for "compensatory damages and exemplary damages for breach of their agreement, related violations of the Illinois Sales Representative Act," as well as for attorney fees incurred from filing the lawsuit.
Chance and Corcoran's manager-artist relationship dates back to May of 2012, when the two decided to embark on a music journey together without the use of a major record label's help. Corcoran assisted with venue selection for performances, publicity and public relations, negotiating deals, managing finances and more.

The two agreed to a deal back in 2013, where Corcoran would receive 15 percent of the net profits that Chance obtained from merchandise, tours and concerts, mixtapes and album sales as well as streams, brand deals and endorsements, film and TV ventures and more. This also included the exclusive 2016 release of Coloring Book to Apple Music. Additionally, the docs note that Chance The Rapper initially offered 10 percent gross of his earnings, but Corcoran agreed to 15 percent net to ensure the rapper's financial success and avoid stunting his career trajectory.

The documents also state that Pat The Manager has incurred over $2.5 million in unreimbursed expenses throughout the time he supported Chance's rap career.

Things, however, took a turn in 2019, when Chance The Rapper announced the release of his first studio album, The Big Day, without informing his manager prior to. According to the documents, Corcoran opposed announcing the effort before the writing process for it even began. Nonetheless, Chance ignored his manager's advice and dropped the LP on July 26, 2019. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard chart, but quickly plummeted weeks after. A tour expected to gross between $25 and $35 million in support of the album was also supposed to launch, but was ultimately postponed due to low ticket sales and poor attendance projections.

Corcoran was terminated from his role as Chance's manager on Apr. 27, 2020, despite attempts to reconcile with the rapper. He lists in the documents that he is owed commissions to streaming sales of Chance's 10 Day and Acid Rap mixtapes, tour earnings from Live Nation Touring, streaming and sales from The Big Day, commissions from Netflix's season two of Rhythm + Flow, which Chance hosted, and more. However, Chance was only willing to give Pat a lump sum of $350,000.

‘Black Panther’ Star Letitia Wright Deletes Social Media Accounts After Anti-Vaccine Video Backlash!
“This account doesn’t exist” and a blank page is what Twitter users will encounter when they try to search Black Panther star Letitia Wright on the social media platform.

Just a days after the Small Axe actress shared a link to a 70-minute YouTube video by a coronavirus vaccine skeptic, Wright deleted both her Twitter and Instagram accounts. The actress came under fire from fellow Twitter users as the video she linked expressed doubts in the in-progress Covid-19 vaccines, which will begin roll-out in Britain in the coming week. The video sees On The Table host Tomi Arayomi question the possible antidote, despite admitting he has no medicinal understanding of vaccines.
Wright received backlash for not only posting the video, but for defending her posting. She blamed her critics of cancelling once they had called her out for sharing the video, which also featured seemingly transphobic comments.

“If you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself…you get cancelled,” Wright said in a now-deleted tweet, which was originally posted on Friday.
She upped her defense against the online critics, clarifying that she only shared the video to raise concerns about what the vaccine might contain.
“my intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies. Nothing else,” she wrote in another since-delete tweet.

Black Panther and Small Axe actress Letitia Wright has deleted her social media accounts after she face heavy backlash from followers for posting an anti-vaccination video on her platforms.

Your First Look at The Lifetime Wendy Williams Biopic!
Latest Un-Masked Singer Reveled in Keeping Secret From Her Staff: 'Oh My Gosh, They're Going to Gag'
After years of asking viewers how we’re doin’, the queen of daytime is finally telling us her story — and what better vessel for that message than a made-for-TV biopic?
Lifetime on Thursday released the first trailer for Wendy Williams: The Movie, a glossy retelling of the shock jock’s rise to stardom. Executive-produced by Williams, the film — which stars Ciera Payton of Tyler Perry’s The Oval in the title role — doesn’t shy away from Williams’ less-glamorous moments, including that time she passed out on live TV dressed like the Statue of Liberty.

There’s only one question: Will the film be current enough to include Williams’ memorable appearance as The Masked Singer‘s Lips? If not, we’re proactively demanding a sequel.

“Wendy has made herself the go-to source for great celebrity dish on her hit talk show, but recently the spotlight has turned towards her,” reads a release from Lifetime. “The authorized project provides a revealing look at Wendy’s journey, from her scrappy upstart days in urban radio to the success of her own syndicated talk show. Despite all the naysayers and obstacles Wendy encountered throughout her life, her strength and determination have allowed her to thrive.”

Here's a first look at the trailer...WATCH

The Movie will be premiering Jan. 30

‘Laverne & Shirley’ Actor David Lander Dead At 73!
David L. Lander, who played Andrew “Squiggy” Squiggman for all eight seasons of the 1970s ABC sitcom “Laverne & Shirley,” has died. He was 73.
Lander’s wife Kathy Fields, told TMZ he died Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from complications due to multiple sclerosis. The actor was diagnosed with the condition in May 1984 but kept it a secret for 15 years.

Lander and his “Laverne & Shirley” sidekick Michael McKean were originally hired as writers for the show in 1976. The duo met as freshmen at Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh and did a raunchy comedy act known as Lenny & Anthony. They ended up getting added to the cast for the first show and were soon made part of the cast.
Penny Marshall, who starred as Laverne DeFazio, died in 2018. She and Cindy Williams, who starred as Shirley Feeney, were roommates who worked at a Milwaukee brewery in the late 1950s.
Lenny, as portrayed by McKean, and Squiggy, were knuckleheaded greasers who drove trucks for the brewery and lived in the apartment upstairs.

“We have lost a great comedy genius, David Lander. But thankfully, the man that made millions of people laugh out loud still remains in the amazing performances he has left us. What a blessing.. what an absolute blast it was to work with you over the years, my darling friend,” Williams wrote on Instagram.
McKean, who posted a photo of the two with no comment on Twitter Saturday afternoon, also teamed up with Lander for a 1979 record “Lenny and the Squigtones,” and in Robert Zemeckis’ 1980 film “Used Cars.”
Lander also provided the voice of Jerry Lewis on a 1970 Saturday morning cartoon, portrayed taxidermist Tim Pinkle on ABC’s “Twin Peaks” — he was cast by his Hollywood Hills neighbor, David Lynch, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The younger of two sons, David Leonard Landau was born and raised in the Bronx. His parents, Sol and Stella, were teachers. He graduated from the High School of the Performing Arts in Manhattan. After a short stint at Carnegie Tech, he attended NYU before moving to Hollywood in 1968.
Lander was the voice of Jerry Lewis for a 1970 ABC cartoon “Will the Real Jerry Lewis Please Sit Down,” and made guest appearances on a number of sitcoms before reuniting with McKean in a comedy troupe called The Credibility Gap. They were hired as writers for “Laverne & Shirley” along with another member of the troupe, Harry Shearer.

Lander also appeared in Steven Spielberg’s “1941,” voiced the character of Smart Ass in Zemeckis’ “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” played a baseball announcer Marshall’s “A League of Their Own” and Principal Squiggy in Keenen Ivory Wayans’ “Scary Movie.”

Known as a baseball man, Lander owned a piece of the Portland Beavers, a onetime Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor-league affiliate, and scouted for the Seattle Mariners and Anaheim Angels.
In 2000, he revealed his illness in a book, “Fall Down Laughing: How Squiggy Caught Multiple Sclerosis and Didn’t Tell Nobody.”

Survivors, in addition to his wife Fields, whom he married in 1979, include daughter Natalie Lander, an actress

Tamar Braxton Comments About Reconciling With Ex-Husband Vince Herbert!
As Tamar Braxton continues to heal emotionally from a tumultuous summer, which included the implosion of her romance with David Adefeso and hospitalization for attempted suicide, some fans are suggesting she return to her ex-husband.
Braxton unsuccessfully tried to end her life with a toxic cocktail of powerful prescription medication and alcohol at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in downtown Los Angeles in July 2020. Adefeso, her boyfriend at the time, reportedly found her unconscious and had first responders rush her to a local hospital, the Los Angeles Times reported.

That moment also represented the nadir of Braxton’s life as she also was at war with We TV, which she accused of exploiting the dysfunction in her life for the network’s financial gain.
Now that Braxton is on the mend mentally, a fan suggested that she possibly could get back together with her ex-husband Vincent Herbert. The fan noted that the most successful period of Braxton’s singing career happened when Herbert performed the dual role of her husband and music manager.

But Braxton resoundingly nixed any suggestions of a reconciliation in a recent Instagram post, according to The Shade Room.
Most fans who responded agreed with Braxton.
One fan, who seemed to summarize the overall sentiment, wrote: “Why would yall even want that-. That’s weird, that’s suspicious.”

Some fans did note where Braxton’s career once was, however.
“Her music was 🔥 when she was with him tho,” a fan noted.

Another fan posted, “she hasn’t even put any out since splitting… except crazy kind of love at the beginning of the year which was actually a good song. But she was done with music until like 2 months ago.”

Glynn Turman Fondly Remembers Co-Star Chadwick Boseman!
Glynn Turman describes his late co-star Chadwick Boseman as “quite a guy all around.”
Turman — who worked with Boseman on the new film adaption of August Wilson’s play “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” — told Page Six that his memories of Boseman are “very fond.”
“Of course I’m very saddened, but I’m glad we had a chance to work together and that I got to know him outside of the play as well as work with him as a performer and see his beautiful technique and style of working,” Turman told us.
The Netflix film was the last project that Boseman worked on before tragically succumbing to colon cancer in August at the age of 43.

“He was the kind of guy you could hang out with,” Turman said. “A guy with a great sense of humor, didn’t take himself too seriously, was able to take a joke and dish out a joke. Found out he was quite a guy all around.”
At age 73, Turman is one of those actors whose face is instantly recognizable. His first performance was opposite Sidney Poitier and Ruby Dee in the original Broadway production of “A Raisin in the Sun.”
Since then, he has appeared in dozens of films and television shows like “The Wire,” “Gremlins,” “Cooley High” and “Fargo.”

The New York native also played retired Army Col. Bradford Taylor on TV’s “A Different World,” which ran from 1987 to 1993.
Turman says the character’s demeanor came in handy.
“I even stopped a fight in the streets of South Central that I saw going on,” he told us. “As I was driving down the street, I saw some young cats on a basketball court and they were getting into it and I didn’t want to see this happen.

“I pulled the car over and I walked over and said, ‘Hey, hey, you guys cut it out’ … and then I said, ‘Look at me! Look at me! You know who I am?’ ‘Oh s–t, it’s Colonel Taylor, OK, OK!'”
Even though he was seriously considered for the role of Han Solo in “Star Wars,” Turman refuses to worry about it.

“If I were to do that … you can’t last in this business and endure it with your mind intact if you whimper about every role that you didn’t get,” he said. “That’s just the way you survive in this business. It’s like golf, you’ve got to forget the shots you just missed.”

R&B singer Jeremih was released from a Chicago hospital yesterday after a weeks-long battle with coronavirus.
The 33-year-old singer, born Jeremy Felton, was able to walk out of the hospital on his own, a significant accomplishment after battling a severe case of COVID-19.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Hospital for saving my life. I will be forever grateful. I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,” the singer said in a statement to ABC7.

Former Martin star Tisha Campbell opened up about her financial struggles following her high profile divorce from ex-husband Duane Martin after 22 years of marriage.

During a recent appearance on Entertainment Tonight, the actress-singer estimates that she had about $7 to her name at the time.

She praised her two songs, Xen and Ezekiel, for how they handled such a challenging, life-changing situation. She admitted starting over was very difficult but necessary.

“The fact that I did raise children who didn’t care about the big mansion that I had or that we had to start over or any of it,” she said, with tears in her eyes. “Starting over is not always the easiest thing, but it is the necessary thing. It’s a beautiful devastation.”

Two years after making that difficult decision to start over, she finds herself in a much more financially stable place but not looking to jump into another relationship anytime soon. When asked about finding love, the star says she’s the happiest she’s ever been.

Niecy Nash Reveals Her Kids Support Her Marriage To Jessica Betts!
Niecy Nash is a happily married woman and very pleased that she has the support of her family.
During an interview with Madame Noire, the “Claws” actress discussed her career and personal life, as well as how both have been impacted by the pandemic. At one point during the interview, Nash was congratulated on her recent marriage to Jessica Betts as she was asked about her family’s reaction to their new union.

“Congratulations on your recent nuptials!” the interviewer said. “I wanted to ask you, in terms of your family, specifically your children, how important was it to have their support, though they’re grown, before saying ‘I do’ again?”
Nash revealed that her family, and children, have been supportive of her decision. While she admitted that it was not a necessity, she noted that it is “a blessing.”

“You know, I think it’s a blessing that we have it. Was it necessary? No. No, because I’m going to live, honey. I’m going to do everything I want to do and sometimes I’m going to do it twice! So I didn’t need it, but the fact that I have it feels like a blessing.”

Back in October, Nash and Betts shocked fans when they shared photos from their wedding. At the time, Betts admitted that there was something special about Nash the moment they met. The 41-year-old musician said, “I knew it was something the moment I met her, but when I fell in love is when I desired no one else.”

Amazon Sold A Doll With Racist Description Of Braided Hair, “Colored Dirty Braid”!
Another racist description has once again “slipped through the cracks” of Amazon, but this time around, it’s dealing with an African American doll with braided hair.

According to TMZ, the digital marketplace was selling a doll with a description that reads “Doli Yearning 14-inch Adorable Black Doll with Casual Red Skirt and Colored Dirty Braid Fashion Gorgeous Doll for Ages 3+ Interactive Playtime BPA Free safety Product Well-Designed Collectible Box.” And people are outraged over the “Colored Dirty Braid” remark.
The doll is made by the Chinese company Doli Yearning who has been selling on Amazon for under a year, and apparently believes braided hair is not only dirty but also associated with coloreds.

It’s also appalling that skin color or hair descriptions aren’t used by the company when it comes to their white dolls– “Doli Yearning 14-inch Adorable Doll with Denim Suit and Colored Headbands Fashion Gorgeous Doll for Ages 3+ Interactive Playtime BPA Free Safety Product Well-Designed Collectable Box.” Same deal for their other “white” dolls—because for whatever the reason.
This isn’t the first time Amazon has come under fire for not filtering out offensive products they allow to be sold on their platform, despite the fact it’s a billion-dollar company that could oversee this from a financial stance.

Dr. Dre's Daughter Says She Hasn't Seen Her Dad in Over 17 Years!
Dr. Dre‘s eldest daughter is opening up about their estranged relationship.
In a new interview, 55-year-old record producer’s daughter LaTanya Young revealed that she hasn’t seen her dad in over 17 years, while also shared her financial struggles.
“Money is not what I want, I feel better doing it on my own,” LaTanya, 37, told The Daily Mail, while also sharing that she recently applied to become a FedEx driver.

“I was on assistance for a while, it’s embarrassing to say,” she revealed. “He did offer to help me with tuition but he never speaks to me. He never set me up to be able to not need him. He never paid for college, he never did anything to help me and my sisters get along.”
For LaTanya, she doesn’t want financial help from Dr. Dre, but would rather just have some sort of relationship with him.

“I really just want to have closure,” she added. “I just want to be able to spend time with my father.”
LaTanya, who is a mother of four, says that Dr. Dre has never met her kids, and she previously thought that his now-estranged wife Nicole Young was the one keeping him from LaTanya.
“I thought that after Nicole was out of the family, things would be better,” LaTanya admitted. “I thought that my dad would come around. I would like him to make me feel like a daughter.

Nicole filed for divorce from Dr. Dre back in June. LaTanya says her father has not yet reach out to her.
Dr. Dre and LaTanya‘s mother, Lisa Jackson, had three kids when they were together, before splitting up when LaTanya was 5-years-old. Since then, LaTanya says her relationship with her dad was always awkward.

“I hated going through third parties. If I needed him, I’d have to go to the studio and get bombarded and talked to by his security,” LaTanya recalled. “I would have to go through his accountant or his right hand man, I would never know whether he got my messages. I have never had a direct line to him.”
“I feel like he gave up on me, and I don’t know why,” she admitted. “I still don’t know why.”
Still, LaTanya hopes that one day she and her kids can have a relationship with Dr. Dre.

My kids like his music. They ask if they can meet him and I don’t even know what to tell them,” LaTanya said.

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
