Gabrielle Union for Women's Health - October 2020!
Gabrielle Union covers the October issue of Women’s Health magazine, on-stands September 15. Inside, the 47-year-old actress and advocate opens up about how she’s calming her mind and feeding her soul in these unprecedented times.
On experiencing a resurgence of PTSD throughout current events: “The combination of the pandemic and this racial reckoning, alongside being inundated with [images of] the brutalization of Black bodies, has sent my PTSD into overdrive. There’s just terror in my body.”
On relying on her own coping mechanisms to manage her PTSD: “I break out my emotional fix-me toolkit, and I try to run through all the situations. I call it my ‘what’s the likelihood of X happening?’ method…If I’m fearful about going into a store because I’m anxious about being robbed, I’ll make myself feel better by going to one where there will be witnesses to cut down those chances. It’s been this way since ’92. It’s just something I do; second nature.”
On how therapy has helped her manage expectations: “I feel different in my body. I feel freer.”
On the renewed sense of responsibility she has felt following a floodgate of testimonials and stories that came to her as a result of her discrimination complaint against America’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell: “All of these people came through the door. How do I create a larger movement to address all this trauma and all this harm? I can’t just swallow the information I now have.”
On being cautiously optimistic about creating real change and opportunity for BIPOC in the future: “I’m not going to factor in change I have yet to see. For the most part, across all industries, you see the same power structure that existed before George Floyd. All of these initiatives that people are so excited about—if the people at the top haven’t changed, and they’re not interested in creating more space up here, how far are these people that we’re bringing in going?”
On holding space for other Black folks in her professional life – which includes an affordable hair-care product line and clothing collection with New York & Co.: “I want to make sure that everything that is working for me is available to as many people as possible. We’re not free until everyone is free.”
On struggling with anxiety and finding her inner-peace: “I was watching this hummingbird and thinking, He’s up there and he’s able to fly, but he just keeps hitting his head against the top of this thing. I felt everything clench. But watching that hummingbird just f*cked me up. I couldn’t start my next meeting until we figured out how to help the little hummingbird, because if I don’t have at least a reasonable amount of peace at any moment, I can’t focus. It affects everything for me.”
On taking notice of the natural wonders around her since moving from L.A. a few months ago – and specifically bees, to which she is allergic: “Normally, I would be like, ‘Bees!’ But I’ve found a weird peace being surrounded by a lot of them. Yet they’re dying. All day long, I find these dead bees. I’m feeling—I won’t say grief-stricken, that might be overselling it—but I’m mourning our little bee brothers and sisters.”
On her new surroundings: “I think I was brought to this home for a reason. Finding that peaceful balance with nature, and understanding that we moved into their space. This is so not my normal language, but I don’t have other words to describe it. Maybe it’s just about looking at a bee or a hummingbird that’s trapped, and thinking, There’s another way, and I’ve got to find it, because my soul won’t rest until I figure it out.”
#RHOA: Cynthia Bailey Teases What's to Come for Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta!
On Wednesday, Sept. 2's episode of Just the Sip, Cynthia Bailey caught up with E!'s Justin Sylvester and gave an update on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Not only did the model turned Bravo personality discuss filming season 13 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but she also weighed in on NeNe Leakes' status as a cast member.
"It's been very different, you know, filming during COVID-19," the RHOA star started off. "We have to get tested every week."
As she continued, Cynthia shared that she initially struggled with the nasal swab coronavirus test and now gets tested via her throat.
"Excited to be back at work! We're trying to make this show happen, you know, kudos to Bravo for that," she added. "It's been very challenging, you know, respecting the COVID rules and regular testing's a huge part of it."
Per Cynthia, filming has consisted of constant mask wearing, shields and their homes being regularly disinfected.
"And we're filming more from home because we can't go into certain places and be in big crowds," Cynthia shared. "You guys are going to get a very entertaining season 13, but it's going to be a little different."
For those concerned for the RHOA stars and crew, Cynthia assured Just the Sip listeners that they're "being extra careful."
As for the rumors about NeNe's absence from season 13?
"I don't really have any real answers for you, to be honest," she noted. "So, I can just tell you, I haven't filmed anything with her yet. So, that's that."
Regardless of the outcome, Cynthia said she only has love for her longtime co-star.
"NeNe and I are where we are now, but for a long time she was a very, very good friend of mine, who I loved very much, who I still have love for," Cynthia expressed. "I want her to do what is best for her…She was one of the O.G.s on the show. You know, when you think of Real Housewives of Atlanta, you do think of NeNe."
Before concluding this topic, Cynthia said NeNe is "great for the show."
She concluded, "I hope they work it out
#MusicNews: Mary J. Blige Readies New Album For Fall/Winter!
It’s been over three years since she released an album, but Mary J. Blige has new music on the way.
During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul revealed that her next album could arrive before the end of the year. “It will be out this fall or winter,” she said.
Unlike some of her past work, the music will carry a more optimistic tone. “It’s about life, love, struggle, but mostly triumph,” she said. “Because I’m learning how to rejoice in the valleys and the droughts.”
Blige’s last album, Strength of a Woman, was released in April 2017 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, featuring collaborations with Kanye West, Missy Elliott, and Quavo. In May, she returned with “Can’t Be Life,” released in conjunction with her film Body Cam.
Starting Sept. 6, the Oscar-nominated actress can be seen playing Monet Stewart Tejada, a ruthless crime boss, in “Power Book II: Ghost,” the spinoff to Starz’s hit crime drama, “Power.” The show was executive produced by 50 Cent and “Power” creator Courtney Kemp.
“To be part of the ‘Power’ world is too good to be true,” said Blige. “Courtney and 50 wanted to have a story about a female queenpin.”
And while she has been celebrated as an actress (she received an Oscar nomination for her role in Mudbound), Blige remains dedicated to her craft. “I always want to make my peers proud — the Queen Latifahs, the Taraji P. Hensons, the Angela Bassetts, the Viola Davises,” she said. “I want them to know I am working hard at everything, and I respect that they do so much that I’m not going to take an honor like this for granted.”
Blige’s 2007 song “Work That” was played during the Democratic National Convention when Sen. Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination for vice president, much to her surprise and delight.
“I was busy, but then my phone started going crazy,” she said. “I had to rush everyone away so I could watch it. And the next day, it was all over the news. Wow, what a moment!”
Blige met the California senator a long time ago. “She was a fan, and she was so nice to me at a time when I was going through some bad stuff, and she said so many things to add to my confidence and self-love. That was so important, and now she did it again.
#HipHopNews: 6IX9INE Says ‘There’s No Difference Between Me And Tupac Shakur’!
6ix9ine is making no apologies. As he prepares to release his new album TattleTales on Friday, the controversial rapper speaks out on everything from his snitching to his bad reputation in his first interview with The New York Times since his release from prison in April. He has remained a polarizing figure and he’s not about to dial down his antics. In fact, he plans to “just keep dominating.”
“How would you feel if I go out there on the ledge and jump off that building and kill myself?” 6ix9ine asked. “That’s what society wants me to do.”
In February 2019, he pleaded guilty to firearms and racketeering charges. He received a reduced sentenced after cooperating with prosecutors and testifying against members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. But he doesn’t have any regrets about snitching.
“Before I broke the street code, how many times was it broken to me? ‘It’s all about honor, loyalty.’ Well, let’s talk about if sleeping with somebody’s girl is honor, kidnapping somebody is honor, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from them is honor, trying to kill them is honor. ‘Snitching’s not street!’ But street is taking advantage of one of your homies?” he said.
Prior to his fame in 2015, he pleaded guilty to use of a child in a sexual performance. “I was at the wrong place at the wrong time,” he said, noting that he is not a “40-year-old Jeffrey Epstein-type.”
But he feels that he has atoned for his sins. “No other celebrity gives back as much as Daniel Hernandez,” he said. “What society is trying to do is have me crawl into a corner and say, you know what, I hate myself. I will never hate myself. I love everything I’ve been through and I will never take it back. I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever regret the lessons I learned in life, because they made me into an animal, made me into a beast. I can go through anything.”
He even likens himself to Tupac Shakur, who was convicted of felony sex abuse in 1994. “Tupac Shakur was convicted of rape. Is Tupac Shakur loved or hated? Loved! What’s the difference between me and Tupac Shakur? I never caught a rape charge — ever,” he said.
The reporter argues that Tupac was more multifaceted than 6ix9ine, who only makes “fun, turn-up music.” “You’re telling me he gave back through his art? You’re lying to me,” he said. “I got to feed what, in 2020, is relevant. I got to feed the masses. There’s no difference between me and Tupac Shakur.”
When asked why he doesn’t make more introspective music, he responds, “I can go there, but my fans don’t want that. You don’t go to McDonald’s and get filet mignon.”
He admits that he worries about death (“At this point, it’s a lifestyle. I worry about it, but I’m not scared of it”), but knows not to put himself in “stupid situations.” However, he never considered the witness protection program. “F**k no. They were like, ‘Yeah, it wouldn’t work anyway because your face tattoos. You’re too noticeable,'” he said.
He also addresses his use of the N-word (“Nobody’s going to make me stop saying [expletive]. I grew up in Bushwick, Brooklyn. All my friends are Black”) and comparisons to President Trump. “I don’t think Trump trolls. I think Trump is genuinely Trump. I get compared to Trump every day. But I love Mexican people. I don’t think we’re the same,” he says before adding, “I would vote for Trump.”
And while he may not be well liked, he’s not looking to change. “It’s made me millions of dollars. I’m stupid, but I’m not dumb. What if I change, and I don’t make no more money? Keep hating me, because you’re going to keep tuning in.”
Rihanna Speaks On Chris Brown In Resurfaced 2012 Interview W/ Oprah: ‘We Love Each Other & Probably Always Will’!
Oprah decided to rerelease her 2012 conversation with Rihanna on her brand new podcast Super Soul Conversations.”
In the 8-year-old interview, the singer opens up about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, which has sparked up the conversation to the forefront once again on social media.
RiRi and Brown had a very public and controversial breakup. As addressed in this interview, the two were able to grow and rebuild their trust.
“We’ve been working on our friendship again,” she said during their conversation. “Now we’re very very close friends. We’ve built up a trust again, and that’s – we love each other and we probably always will. And that’s not something we’re ever going to change. That’s not something you can shut off, if you’ve ever been in love.”
She also shares that she feels Brown could of been her happily ever after.
“I think he was the love of my life. He was the first love,” she said. “And I see that he loved me the same way… it’s not even about us being together. I truly love him. So the main thing for me is that he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s a little unhappy, or he’s still lonely.”
Rihanna has since moved on to date billionaire Hassan Jameel but things did not work out and they broke up earlier this year. She is currently focused on Fenty Beauty and working on her much-anticipated ninth studio album.
New York Mets Legend Tom Seaver Dies At 75 After Battle With Dementia!
The greatest pitcher in New York Mets history and one of the greatest in baseball history has died.
Tom Seaver, known as "Tom Terrific," died Monday at the age of 75. He had battled dementia in recent years, according to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
"We are heartbroken to share that our beloved husband and father has passed away," his wife Nancy Seaver and daughters, Sarah and Anne, said in a statement. "We send our love out to his fans, as we mourn his loss with you."
Seaver was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1992, appearing on 425 of 430 ballots.
The flame-throwing righty won three Cy Young Awards (1969, 1973 and 1975) and went to the All-Star Game 12 times.
"I am deeply saddened by the death of Tom Seaver, one of the greatest pitchers of all-time," MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. "Tom was a gentleman who represented the best of our National Pastime. He was synonymous with the New York Mets and their unforgettable 1969 season. After their improbable World Series Championship, Tom became a household name to baseball fans -- a responsibility he carried out with distinction throughout his life."
Seaver pitched for the Mets from 1967 to 1977, when a surprise midseason trade sent him to the Cinicinnati Reds. He would return to the Mets for one season in 1983, but failed to reclaim his prior dominance. He finished his career with short stints for the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox.
He finished with 311 wins, 18th all-time, and 3,640 strikeouts, sixth all-time. His ERA was over 3.00 only once in the first 12 seasons of his career.
He won his only World Series with the 1969 Miracle Mets, but had a 2.77 ERA in three postseason appearances.
Only Greg Maddux (four), Steve Carlton (four), Randy Johnson (five) and Roger Clemens (seven) won more Cy Young Awards in their careers.
Paris Hilton Opens Up About Abusive Past Relationships!
Paris Hilton says the physical and emotional abuse she allegedly suffered at boarding school as a teenager continued into adulthood, via her toxic and abusive relationships with men.
Speaking with PEOPLE ahead of the release of her new documentary, "This Is Paris," Hilton said the trauma she suffered as a teen conditioned her to believe that abusive behavior was "normal" and negatively affected her future dating life.
"I went through multiple abusive relationships," she told the publication. "I was strangled, I was hit, I was grabbed aggressively. I put up with things no one should."
"I had become so used to [abusive behavior] at Provo, that it made me feel like it was normal," she continued, saying five of her ex-boyfriends were abusive in some way.
"They all seemed like such nice guys and then the true colors would show," said Hilton. "They'd get jealous, or defensive or try to control me. And there there would come a point where they would become physically, verbally and emotionally abusive."
At the time, Hilton says she thought that behavior "meant that they were in love with me," admitting she really didn't "understand what love or relationships were."
"Looking back, I can't believe I let people treat me like that," she added.
Now, Hilton is happily dating businessman Carter Reum, telling PEOPLE she's "so grateful to have found my perfect match."
Fed up with Hilton's wild child behavior when she was a teenager, her parents sent her to Provo Canyon School in Utah for 11 months.
"The staff would say terrible things," Paris said of her treatment there. "They were constantly making me feel bad about myself and bully me. I think it was their goal to break us down. And they were physically abusive, hitting and strangling us. They wanted to instill fear in the kids so we'd be too scared to disobey them."
"I was having panic attacks and crying every single day," she added. "I was just so miserable. I felt like a prisoner and I hated life."
"Originally opened in 1971, Provo Canyon School was sold by its previous ownership in August 2000," the school said in a statement following her allegations. "We therefore cannot comment on the operations or patient experience prior to this time."
"This Is Paris" debuts September 14 on her YouTube page.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson And Family Tested Positive For COVID-19!
Actor and former wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said Wednesday that his family recently tested positive for the coronavirus and are now implementing stricter rules on socializing amid the pandemic.
Johnson, 48, posted a video to his Instagram and shared that he, wife Lauren and two young daughters all tested positive for COVID-19 about three weeks ago. The "Jumanji" and "Baywatch" actor said that his daughters had only mild symptoms, but that the illness was much harder on the adults.
"I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family," Johnson said. "And for me personally too as well, and I’ve gone through some doozies in the past.
Johnson said the family is now "on the other side" of the virus, doing well and no longer contagious.
“We’re all counting our blessings because we’re well aware that it isn’t always the case that you get on the other end of COVID-19 stronger and healthier," Johnson said. "...Some of my best friends lost their parents, their loved ones, to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving, and it is insidious.”
Friends unaware that they were infected apparently spread the illness to the Johnsons when they visited the family's home. Johnson said that the close family friends felt terrible and that he has since implemented new rules about guests.
"Having your friends over, having your family members over, your loved ones, of course, you want that because you want that connection and you want to be with the people who you love and care about" and have a good time with, he said. "My takeaway here isn’t necessarily keep them away, I’m not saying that, but what I am saying now is apply an even greater discipline to having people over to your house."
Johnson said that any trusted family and friends who come to his house will be tested for the virus before being allowed over. The actor also said he's spoken to numerous doctors and experts on how the family can boost their immune systems and general wellness.
"When you have a boosted immune system and your immune system is strong and not compromised, then you got a shot," Johnson said.
The actor told his fans that they should "stack the deck" in their favor so as to decrease the likelihood of contracting the virus and increasing the chances of recovery should they get it. Johnson also rejected the idea that wearing a mask was a political act, encouraging his fans to don facial coverings to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.
"Wear your mask. It is a fact, and it is the right thing to do, and it's the responsible thing to do," Johnson said.

Spray paint was also reportedly seen at the Levitt Shell concert venue, where the iconic Rock And Roll legend performed his first paid concert in July of 1954. The nonprofit organization has reportedly filed a police report, expecting a loss of $700,000 this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

What are your thoughts on Elvis Presley’s home being vandalized?

'WWHL' Host Andy Cohen Posts SHIRTLESS Photos Of Anderson Cooper And He Is Ripped!!
Andy Cohen just posted shirtless photos of Anderson Cooper which he is not happy about, but the man is RIPPED! Very white, but insanely RIPPED!!
The 'Watch What Happens Live' host shared the sexy snaps on Instagram after releasing it was the time of year he would normally be off yachting with Cooper in some tropical paradise.
Normally, according to Cohen, he would be teasing Anderson about posting similar photos on vacation -- but, since they are at home, and COVID-19 makes it hard to travel he decided to put up some classic anyways!!
“If it were a normal year, I’d be on vacation with my pal…threatening to post shirtless pics of him,” Cohen posted.
He continued, “Well, it’s 2020 and I’m sitting on my deck so I figured I’d just post without asking and piss him off! #SilverFox.”
As you can imagine, a ton of celebrities immediately went NUTS over the photos and lit up Cohen's IG with comments about the pictures.
'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' star Lisa Rinna posted, “THANK YOU BIG DADDYπ₯" while supermodel Naomi Cambel comments, "ANDERSON , go Gemini ♥️π₯♥️π₯."
Not The First Time Cohen Has Posted Shirtless Photos Of Cooper...
This isn't the first time Cohen has posted shirtless photos of his BFF Cooper, but as you can tell from the picture (above) he wasn't a huge fan.
Andy Cohen admitted later on his Instagram story that the CNN anchor was "so pissed" at him for posting the snaps, but he added, "But, I'm just sitting here bored under a blanket."
As you can imagine, a few people started doing exactly what Anderson didn't want and starting commenting on his pale skin. "I just want him to put on some sunscreen. Im worried about that man's skin," one fan wrote.
"I’m blind! It literally hurts the eyes how pale he is ππ," another added.
"Thank you, just thank you so much for this! We needed this; your friendship with Anderson is tighter than the t-shirt he wore during AC2! He will get over it!" one fan posted.
The best part is most people couldn't get enough of how ripped Anderson is in the pictures.
"Omg I love the both of you. Wow, Silver Fox is fit πͺπ» look at those guns!" a fan posted.
Anderson Cooper announced earlier this year he welcomed a newborn baby boy, Wyatt, and is now a proud father. So, maybe he can use that excuse to stay out of the boat trips for a while, but we will always have these told classics!
Kenneth Walker, Boyfriend Of Breonna Taylor, Sues Police And City Of Louisville For Immunity!
In a lawsuit, Kenny Walker is asking for immunity under Kentucky’s “stand your ground” law, claiming the night police served a no-knock warrant, the couple thought someone was breaking into their home
Kenneth Walker, the boyfriend of Breonna Taylor who allegedly opened fire at the officers who shot and killed her, announced Tuesday he's suing the city of Louisville, its police and others, for immunity against his actions that night under Kentucky's "stand your ground" law.
Walker, 27, and a licensed gun owner, was initially charged with attempted murder and assault following the March 13 incident, but those charges were dropped. Kentucky's attorney general and the FBI are still investigating Taylor's shooting, and Walker said the suit would prevent officials from re-arresting and charging him for any crime related to the incident.
"I was raised by a good family. I am a legal gun owner and I would never knowingly shoot at a police officer," he said at a news conference.
On March 13, three undercover Louisville officers, Myles Cosgrove, Brett Hankison and Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly, executed a no-knock warrant at the apartment where Taylor and Walker were living. The officers contend that Taylor's ex-boyfriend was shipping drugs to the address.
Kenneth Walker, the boyfriend of the late Breonna Taylor, stands between his mother and attorney during a press conference in Louisville, Ky., Sept. 1, 2020.
The couple was asleep when the officers allegedly tried to break down the door, which prompted Walker, a USPS worker, to get his licensed gun and fire at the door, according to the lawsuit.
The officers returned fire, killing Taylor, 26, an EMT, in her sleep and no drugs were found in the residence, police said. Mattingly was struck in the leg during the incident, according to police.
Taylor's death gained national attention from activists all over the world who have called for the officers to be disciplined and criminally charged. As of Sept. 1, only one officer, Hankison, has been fired while Cosgrove and Mattingly have been placed on administrative duties.
Walker was immediately arrested after the shooting and released into home confinement less than two weeks later due to COVID concerns in the jail. In May, Jefferson County Commonwealth's Attorney Tom Wine announced the charges against Walker were dropped as the FBI and state attorney general investigated the shooting.
Walker told reporters that the charges were made to silence him.
"I can no longer remain silent," he said. Walker's attorney, Steve Romines, said his client has never been in trouble with the law before and had a legal right to own the gun. The suit contends the state's "stand your ground" law "protects all Kentuckians who seek to protect themselves or loved ones in self-defense."
The suit said that Walker asked, "Who is it?" three times to no response before the officers broke open the door.
"Kenny immediately reacted by firing a single shot to scare away the intruder or intruders," the suit said.
Romines said he is still waiting to get a ballistics report, but questioned whether Mattingly was struck by his client's bullet or friendly fire.
"It is still six months later and they're still trying to figure out what happened in that apartment," he said at the news conference.
In addition to preventing future prosecution, Walker is seeking damages in part for the gross negligence of the police "for the trauma, humiliation, indignity, physical pain, mental suffering, or mental anguish he suffered," the suit said.
Jean Porter, a spokeswoman for Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, said in a statement to ABC News that her office cannot comment on the specifics of the pending litigation.
"As the mayor has said, Breonna Taylor's death was a tragedy, and justice, peace, and healing are what is needed for her, for her loved ones and for our community," she said in a statement.
A spokesman for Wine's office told ABC News that the office was not served as of Tuesday afternoon and could not comment on the suit. The Louisville Police Department could not be reached for comment.
50 Cent On G-Unit Reunion: ‘I’d Like To Forget’!
If you were looking forward to a G-Unit biopic, it doesn’t look like it’s in the cards if 50 Cent has his way.
50 Cent appeared on DJ Whoo Kid’s WHOOARMY LIVE this week, and when Whoo Kid asked 50 about his plans for a G-Unit flick, he made it clear he is not interested.
“I don’t care to do that,’ 50 Cent said. “I’d like to forget the G-Unit.”
Whoo Kid seemed surprised by his answer and pressed Fif further, telling him fans would love a movie.
“Kendrick [Lamar] doesn’t even let those boys come on stage with him,” Fif said. “I could have did that! What the f*ck I’m bringing 30 n***as onstage for? I could have did it like Kendrick.”
50 Cent and the members of G-Unit haven’t always been on the best of terms, and it doesn’t appear the gangs getting back together anytime soon.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the interview, 50 opened up about Power Book II, the MTV Awards, Fat Joe and more.
Dallas Man Kills Wife and Two Teenage Sons Because They Were Being Too Loud!
A Dallas man has been arrested and charged with murder after shooting his wife and kids for being too loud.
According to the Associated Press, James Webb, 57, confessed to the murder of his wife, 35, and two children, ages 16 and 13, claiming he killed them because he had a headache, and they were too loud.
Webb was arrested on Monday and told officials that it all started after he got into an argument with his wife, Victoria Bunton, around 10 am. He said the two were arguing about his headache and the fact that the children were too loud.
According to the affidavit, Webb shot his wife twice and then his sons and waited an hour before calling the police to confess.
He explained that he was “tired” of his family, “yelling and telling him that there was nothing wrong with him, so he shot them.”
“She had a heart. She was so sweet to everybody,” the family’s neighbor Chanel Lockhart said of Bunton, adding that the teens were smart. “You’d never think that one day he would call and say he killed his kids.”
