“Lovecraft Country” Star Jonathan Majors Is on the Cover of GQ’s October Issue!

“Lovecraft Country” star Jonathan Majors covers the October 2020 issue of GQ magazine photographed by Shaniqwa Jarvis and styled by Mobolaji Dawodu.

As Jonathan Majors’s extraordinary year unfolds, he remains focused on the bigger narrative: how other Black actors might get past the old Hollywood gatekeepers. “We got the ball now,” he says. “I don’t give a fuck how you get in the door. Rob, steal, kill, hook, crook, whatever you got to do. And you’re in there, you’re in now. Go to work. Make it undeniable. It’s our job as artists to stay bold. To continue the protest, continue the year of authenticity.”

Taking a sip of coffee, he leans back and pauses to reflect. “Someone once said to me, ‘I wish for you an ordinary life and an extraordinary career,’ ” he says. “And so I try to keep it that way, hella grounded, talk to my family, spend time by myself a lot. I find that to be the best kind of balm when shit gets crazy.”

#RHOA: Awwwwww, Kandi, Porsha, And Eva Love Doting On Their Daughters!

National Daughter’s Day is celebrated every year on Sept. 25, and is meant to be a day where daughters are made to feel special. Several celebrities, including Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burruss, Eva Marcille and Porsha Williams took to social media to express their love for their daughters

Porsha Williams, who welcomed daughter Pilar Jhena McKinley, in 2019, shared a video and a couple of pictures of her baby girl.  She captioned, “I love you my darling PJ @pilarjhena !!! #NationalDaughterDay.”

Porsha became pregnant with Pilar six years after having a miscarriage.

“I’ve had a miscarriage before in my past, which I’ve also been open about because I suffer with fibroids and had to have a myomectomy,” she told People.com. “So just the fear of, ‘Is the baby going to be okay? Will I make it full term?’ All those questions that you ask if you’ve had a miscarriage before.

Porsha and her fiancé, Dennis Mckinley, welcomed their daughter a week before her due date. Their miracle baby is now a healthy and thriving toddler.

Kandi Burruss also took to Instagram to share photos of her daughters Blaze and Riley, and her bonus daughter Kaela. She captioned, “So I heard it was #NationalDaughterDay! I love my girls @blazetucker #RileyBurruss @kpt__“

Blaze was born via surrogate to Kandi and husband Todd Tucker on November 22,2019. Due to medical reasons and a history of delivery complications, Burruss decided surrogacy was the safest option to carry her and Todd’s second child together.

Eva Marcille, who has one daughter with her ex Kevin MCCall, posted an adorable photo of her and her daughter. She wrote,“I must celebrate my young Queen Marley Rae Sterling on #nationaldaughtersday my whole world.”

Last year, Eva changed her daughter’s last name from McCall to Sterling. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star explained why she decided to give Marley her stepfather’s last name.

“I just went through a name change for my firstborn, Marley Rae,” Eva shared on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. “Marley was born in 2014, and I gave her biological father’s [last] name [at birth],” The model explains. “After two months, we became estranged and I raised [Marley] as a single mom.”

“And then, the Good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children. And so, long story short, we all have the name Sterling. Marley’s the only one with her biological father’s [last] name. I saw it necessary, and Mike saw it necessary, to change her name.

#HipHopNews: 2 Live Crew's Uncle Luke Shocked After Wife Of 12 Years Files For Divorce!

It looks like Dr. Dre isn’t the only Hip Hop legend going through relationship turmoil. According to Page Six, 2 Live Crew’s Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell was “blindsided” in July when his wife of 12 years filed for divorce.

“It’s mind-boggling, hurtful, and a total surprise,” he said. “I never intended to get married to get divorced. That’s not in my DNA nor my family’s history. I believe in the sacred vows, for better or worse, but I have to respect her decision.”

Uncle Luke made sure to point out there was no infidelity on his side and was really trying to accept her decision to end the marriage.

“Under no circumstances was there any infidelities nor verbal or physical abuse by me,” he said. “I am now trying to make peace with her decision as best as I can. It will take time. The most important focus for me now is our son and being the best parent I can in this situation.

“Please understand this is not a nasty split, so I would ask all who are aware, not to speak on our personal lives and respect our privacy by staying positive for our son’s sake.”

The couple married in 2008 and share one son.

#NBA: The NBA Finals are set The Los Angeles Lakers will play the Miami Heat!

The NBA Finals are set, and for the first time in NBA history, the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat will play a seven-game series for the right to host the Larry O’Brien trophy at the end of the season.

According to stats.nba.com, this is the first time in NBA history that the two teams playing in the NBA Finals didn’t quality for the playoffs in the previous season. The Heat and Lakers both finished 10th in the 2018-19 season.

The Lakers won their regular season series with the Heat 2-0, but Miami’s roster has drastically changed since the last time these two teams played in December. For context, Kendrick Nunn and Meyers Leonard started for the Heat each time the Lakers played them in the regular season.

Additionally, the Heat have grown a lot since the start of the season, and their players have notably improved as a result of their improved synergy on the court. Bam Adebayo is the prime example, but we’ve also seen Jae Crowder and Tyler Herro breakout in the bubble.

The Lakers are going to be tested in a way they haven’t this postseason, which is saying something because the Denver Nuggets were excellent. Here is the full NBA Finals schedule:

Former Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale, Armed, Barricades Self In Fort Lauderdale Home, Police Called For Alleged Suicide!

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Brad Parscale, the former campaign manager for Donald Trump who was replaced by the President less than four months before the 2020 election, was armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself at his Fort Lauderdale home on Sunday afternoon, according to police and campaign officials.

Police responded to a home in the upscale Seven Isles neighborhood around 4 p.m. in reference to a man barricaded inside a house. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the woman, the man’s wife, who had called 911. She told police that her husband was armed, had access to multiple firearms inside the house and was threatening to kill himself.

Police have not confirmed that the barricaded man was Parscale, who worked for Trump, but records confirm that the property in the 2300 block of Desota Drive in Fort Lauderdale is owned by Parscale, 44, and his wife, Candice. Local 10 spoke to neighbors who also said it was the home of the former advisor to the President.

Fort Lauderdale Police said that man was transported to Broward Health Medical Center placed under the Baker Act, which allows anyone deemed to be a threat to themselves or others to be detained for 72 hours for psychiatric evaluation.

Police have not confirmed if any shots were fired. They did determine that no one else was in the home.

A statement from President Trump’s Campaign Communications Director, Tim Murtaugh, states: “Brad Parscale is a member of our family and we all love him. We are ready to support him and his family in any way possible.”

Parscale was demoted from the campaign manager’s post in July but remained part of the campaign, helping run its digital operation.

Standing 6′8″ and with a distinctive beard, Parscale had become a celebrity to Trump supporters and would frequently pose for photos and sign autographs ahead of campaign rallies. But Trump had begun to sour on him earlier this year as Parscale attracted a wave of media attention that included focus on his seemingly glitzy lifestyle on the Florida coast that kept him far from campaign headquarters in Virginia.

Over the summer, he hyped a million ticket requests for the president’s comeback rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that ended up drawing just 6,000 people. A furious Trump was left staring at a sea of empty seats and, weeks later, promoted Bill Stepien to campaign manager.

Parscale was originally hired to run Trump’s 2016 campaign by Jared Kushner, the president’s powerful son-in-law. While the Republican National Committee owns most of the campaign’s data, voter modeling and outreach tools, Parscale ran most of the microtargeted online advertising that Trump aides believe was key to his victory four years ago.

Under the state’s Red Flag Law, officials could ask a judge to bar Parscale from possessing any weapons for up to a year.

Basketball Wives' Star Brandi Maxiell Hospitalized With 'Severe' COVID-19 Complications!

Former Basketball Wives star Brandi Maxiell has been hospitalized for severe COVID-19 complications.

DJ Duffey, Maxiell’s best friend who also appeared with her on the reality show, posted a picture on Instagram asking for everyone to send good energy. “Wherever you are right now, just uplift her in prayer please.”

Maxiell’s sister, Jayde Penn, spoke to The Shade Room and confirmed that Maxiell was indeed under medical care. “My sister has been diagnosed with a severe case of COVID-19 and was hospitalized Thursday night after having trouble breathing,” she said. “We would like to ask everyone to please keep her in your prayers as she continues to fight through this. We love you all and please stay safe!”

Maxiell previously revealed on Basketball Wives that she battled ovarian cancer in 2007. In an interview with Essence in 2014, she explained what her experience was like. “I had all the classic symptoms of ovarian cancer – back pain, bloating, weight gain, abdominal pain, feeling full quickly after eating a couple of bites of food as well as the need to urinate urgently or often,” she said.

“Now, what woman doesn’t have one or more of these symptoms during a regular menstrual cycle?” she continued. “That’s why ovarian cancer is called ‘the silent killer.’ It creeps into your body with symptoms so subtle that it can mimic other, unrelated conditions. And a Pap test won’t find it. There’s no test for it.”

Maxiell went into remission in 2009 and hasn’t had any problems with it since. Since she went into remission, there was a higher chance for severe COVID-19 complications because of the changes to her immune system.

Eve Says She ‘Doesn’t Think About Race’ When It Comes To Her White Husband!

Eve has been married to British millionaire Maximillion Cooper since 2014, after a four-year courtship that began in 2010. Their interracial relationship has existed throughout turbulent times in the United States that have saw racial tensions heightened to unimaginable levels with the deaths of Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, and countless other Black people. Though she has lived in the UK with Cooper for years, she’s experienced the collective pain of Black Americans during this time and it has transformed the pair’s relationship.

And over the course of their love, which has evolved to understand how race informs their experiences on both sides, Eve says that they have had, and still do, have conversations about race. In a clip released by TV One for Uncensored, Eve discusses how race factors into their relationship now.

“I don’t think about our race, I don’t,” she says. “When we first got together, yeah, of course. I had never been with a white guy seriously like that. So yeah, I definitely thought about it. But we are so honest with each other that we have discussions, and that’s a beautiful thing.”

Eve and Cooper aren’t only involved in the discussion. They bring in family as well so that everyone around them can learn more about the multitude of experiences that exist in the household. “With my stepchildren, we have discussions,” she said. “We talk about race. We talk about America and what things go on here. Especially when he comes here and sees the violence that is going on. The police brutality. Things that he didn't’ think still happen because he's white and that’s just real — they live in a different reality.”

Eve wrapped up the interview with an interesting perspective on why their conversations matter, explaining that there’s a certain level of awareness that white people can lack. “They don't have to think about it unless there is someone close to them that has gone through it or can explain to them certain things,” she said. “That’s a beautiful thing. That it is a discussion.”

Kenosha Police Officer's Lawyer Says He Thought Jacob Blake Was Kidnapping Child After Hearing Mother's Plea!

Video posted on social media Sunday show one officer grabbing the man's shirt from behind and then firing into the vehicle.

Police Officer Rusten Sheskey has told investigators that it wasn't just his life he was defending when he fired his weapon seven times at Jacob Blake last month in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He said he used deadly force during the chaotic encounter because he was afraid Blake, while attempting to flee the scene, was trying to kidnap a child in the backseat of the vehicle.

"He's got my kid. He's got my keys," Sheskey heard a woman say, according to attorney Brendan Matthews, who is representing the officer. If Sheskey had allowed Blake to drive away and something happened to the child "the question would have been 'why didn't you do something?'" Matthews said.

That explanation, provided in an exclusive interview with CNN, offers the most detailed rationale to date for Sheskey's highly scrutinized decision to shoot Blake, who is Black, as he leaned into an SUV with his children inside it on August 23. Cellphone video of the shooting went viral on the internet, sparking days of protests and rioting in the lakeside city of Kenosha. The shooting, which Blake's family has said resulted in paralysis from his waist down, was widely condemned as yet another unjustified shooting of a Black person by police.

Speaking directly to the camera, Jacob Blake said he is in constant pain in the roughly one-minute-long video

The attorney's comments to CNN come as authorities in Wisconsin announced this week that the results of an investigation by the state Department of Justice would soon be turned over to a retired police chief serving as an independent consultant for his review. The consultant is in turn expected to forward the case to local prosecutors along with an analysis intended to help determine whether criminal charges against Sheskey are warranted. The officer remains on paid administrative leave.

Matthews told CNN he typically does not talk about pending cases but said he felt compelled to provide some additional detail to counter what he described as an "incomplete, inaccurate" narrative that has emerged to date. Matthews directly disputed assertions by Blake's family and lawyers that he was unarmed and posed no threat to the officers.

At the time Sheskey opened fire, the lawyer said, Blake held a knife in his hand and twisted his body toward the officer. That action is not visible in the video widely circulating on the internet, in which the view of Blake's body is partially obscured by the driver's side door of the SUV.

Matthews said a second officer at the scene, whom he also represents, provided investigators with a similar account of Blake turning toward Sheskey with a knife in his hand immediately prior to the shooting. That officer said he too would have opened fire but did not have a clear angle, according to the lawyer.

Authorities have said Blake had a knife in his possession and the weapon was found on the floorboard of the vehicle. But they have released few other details of the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.

CNN reached out to Blake's attorney, Benjamin Crump, for comment on Matthews' assertions, but did not receive a response prior to publication. However, Blake's lawyers have insisted he never posed a threat to the officers at any time during the encounter, and his father has denied his son was armed. "They shot my son seven times. Seven times. Like he didn't matter," Jacob Blake Sr., Blake's father, told reporters. "But my son matters. He's a human being, and he matters."

Blake was the aggressor at the scene, attorney says

But Matthews, who represents the Kenosha Professional Police Association, said Blake was the aggressor in the encounter, based on the statements Sheskey and Officer Vincent Arenas gave to state investigators earlier this month. The officers, he said, were simply doing their jobs. Blake has not been charged with any crimes stemming from the events of the day he was shot.

The shooting occurred minutes after Sheskey and fellow officers responded to a call of "family trouble" in a neighborhood a couple of miles northwest of downtown Kenosha. According to a dispatch log, a woman reported to police that Blake had taken her keys and would not give them back. Blake's family members later said he'd been attending a birthday party for one of his kids.

Cardi B Says Her DMs Have Been 'Flooded' Since Breaking Up With Offset!

Cardi B has options, but she isn’t choosing… not now, at least.

Ever since the “I Like It” rapper broke things off with her estranged husband Offset, Cardi says she’s had plenty of suitors sliding into her DMs.

Taking to her OnlyFans in a live video this week, the Bronx native gave fans an update on how she’s been doing since filing for divorce from the Migos member after three years of marriage. "You cannot hurt my feelings trying to throw the divorce in my face because, at the end of the day, I decided I wanted to leave," Cardi said in the clip, according to PEOPLE.

"I didn't wait until he cheated on me again," Cardi continued. "I didn't wait [for] another controversy with him being involved. I decided to leave. If I wanted to stay, I could have stayed. I decided to leave."

It was previously rumored that Cardi’s decision to leave Offset was because of ongoing cheating allegations, including those speculating the “Clout” rapper had gotten another woman pregnant. Cardi denied those claims, explaining she chose to end her marriage because she was tired of arguing.

Although the “Press” star brags she “could date any man I want,” she’s choosing to remain single. "My DMs are flooded," she admitted. "I don’t actually want to date nobody. I’m so focused on my business that it’s crazy."

Cardi and Offset secretly tied the knot in September 2017. According to the Fulton County Magistrate in Georgia, Cardi filed to dissolve her union on September 15, citing irreconcilable differences. Per the docs, the superstar mom is supposedly asking for primary legal and physical custody of their 2-year-old daughter Kulture.

Results From Ballistics Test Fails To Support AG Cameron’s Claim That Breonna Taylor’s Boyfriend Shot An Officer!

A ballistics report by the Kentucky State Police does not corroborate state Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s claim that a Louisville police officer was shot by Kenneth Walker, Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, the night she was killed.

On Wednesday, Cameron told reporters that “friendly fire” from former Louisville officer Brett Hankinson as the person behind the gun that went through the thigh of LMPD SGT. Jonathan Mattingly had been ruled out during the investigation. The shot reportedly prompted the two cops and officer Myles Cosgrove to return fire, killing Taylor.

However, the report conducted by the department stated that because of “limited markings of comparative value,” the 9-mm bullet that struck Mattingly was neither “identified nor eliminated as having been fired” from her boyfriend’s gun.

Because Walker had a 9-mm, while the other three officers were carrying .40 caliber handguns, Hankison had been eliminated as the shooter, according to Cameron. But, later that evening on CNN, one of Walker’s attorneys, Steve Romines, revealed that he had received an LMPD record showing that Hankison has been given a 9-mm gun as well.

On March 13, Walker had admitted to firing a “single warning shot” from his handgun at Taylor’s apartment because he believed that intruders were attempting to break in. Instead, police had entered the apartment to reportedly serve a “no-knock” search warrant just before 1 a.m. as part of a narcotics investigation.

After several months of waiting for a trial to bring the three officers to justice, a decision by a Kentucky grand jury had been made. Cameron announced that Mattingly and Cosgrove were not charged with any crimes because they had the right to defend themselves. The third officer, Hankison, who was released from duty in June, was charged with three counts of wantonly endangering Taylor’s neighbors by releasing shots that went into their apartment. He was not charged with the death of Taylor.

Last week, Cameron stated that on the night of Taylor’s death, which resulted from being shot six times, Mattingly fired six shots, Cosgrove 16 shots, and Hankison 10. FBI ballistic examiners had concluded that Cosgrove had fired the shot that killed Taylor. The police department, however, was unable to determine whether he or Mattingly fired that struck her pulmonary artery, killing her within minutes.

Before the ruling, the city of Louisville paid $12 million to Taylor’s family and agreed to enact several changes within the police department policies and procedures as part of the settlement of a wrongful death suit filed by her estate.

Donald Trump Reportedly Paid $750 In U.S. Income Taxes in 2016 and 2017!

Donald Trump has reportedly paid absolutely nothing in federal income taxes in 10 of the 15 past years, according to NY Times.

Trump, who is the only president that has not made his taxes public, had only paid $750 in federal taxes in 2016 when he was elected president and in 2017, which was his first year in office.

A lawyer for the Trump Organization, Alan Garten, told NY Times that “most, if not all, of the facts appear to be inaccurate.”

In a statement, Garten states that Trump “has paid tens of millions of dollars in personal taxes to the federal government, including paying millions in personal taxes since announcing his candidacy in 2015.”
