#RHOA: Newbie Latoya Ali Calls Out Nene Leakes For “Diva” For Allegedly Costing Her Aunt A Job, And Nene Brought Receipts!
Nene Leakes was called out for being a diva earlier this week on social media by Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie Latoya Ali.
Days after Latoya’s addition to the Bravo reality cast was first reported, the YouTube star slammed Nene by suggesting that her “diva behavior” cost her aunt her job as Nene clapped back at the diss by shading Latoya’s family member with a post alleging the woman was essentially stalking her during an appearance on a shopping channel.
After Nene took a dig at a “sociopath” she was working with on Twitter and suggested that person used her for their own personal gain, Latoya responded to a screenshot of her claims by accusing Nene of lacking empathy for other black women.

“Nene, you lack empathy for black women. As a result of your ‘diva’ behavior my aunt lost her contract in Toronto because of your comments towards black women, leaving a black woman’s job in jeopardy,” she alleged. “Remember when you appeared on the shopping channel?”
After seeing the RHOA newbie’s post, Nene fired back at her by sharing a comment left by someone who was working with the shopping channel in question at the time.

“That’s incorrect Latoya. Your aunt lost her contract because she came in on a date she wasn’t scheduled as a guest and waited outside of Nene’s dressing room for most of the day, essentially stalking her,” a woman named Gina alleged. “Then she came and borrowed clothing from the collection to wear and take pictures with Nene.”
According to Gina, Latoya’s aunt wasn’t authorized to do “any of that” and shouldn’t have even been in the building at the time of Nene’s appearance.
“I worked for the network at the time and was Styling that show. Your aunt acted unprofessional period. Don’t put out false information. I have respect for you, but that’s not what happened at all,” Gina shared.
After sharing Gina’s message, Nene told her fans and followers that her “Canadian peeps” were speaking out against Latoya and her accusations of her.
Although Nene has faced rumors of a potential firing or demotion from the RHOA cast in recent weeks, her latest comments on Twitter seem to suggest that she is, in fact, filming for the new episodes of the show.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 is currently in production and expected to air on Bravo in 2021.

#HipHopNews: Joe Budden Apologizes To Logic For Celebrating His Retirement!
Joe Budden is feeling remorse for mocking Logic’s retirement. Earlier this month, the controversial podcast host celebrated Logic’s announcement that he was hanging up the mic following the release of his sixth and final album No Pressure. During the July 18 episode of his “Joe Budden Podcast,” Budden once again took aim at Logic, who he once called “one of the worst rappers to ever grace a microphone.”
“Let’s celebrate Logic getting the f**k out of here, ni**a,” said Budden while laughing. “You’re tryna get some empathy from me?”

He chanted, “Go half Black man!” before writing off the 30-year-old MC. “You should have retired a long time ago, Logic. Who cares?” added Budden.
But Budden later realized that his comments may have been too harsh and insensitive. On a subsequent episode of his podcast, he offered a heartfelt apology to Logic.
“Log, last week, I came in here feeling pretty tumultuous, fresh out of Twitter jail, unable to properly read the room, and just hating myself and life, honestly,” he began. “And unfortunately, I projected some of that onto you, Log. And for that, I wanna apologize. That was wrong of me.”

He continued, “I should be able to think that you aren’t the best rapper in the world but celebrate your retirement because that is a time when somebody should be happy and look back in their career and get their shit off and be with their fans.”
The former Slaughterhouse rapper reflected on his own retirement. “Nobody wants to hear from this fu**ing old grumpy f**k saying f**k you and shut up. Especially after that guy was allowed to retire peacefully. I felt bad,” he said.

Logic dropped his final album No Pressure on Friday and signed off in a tearful farewell on Twitch during which he thanked his fans along with Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and J. Cole. He now plans to focus on fatherhood. He and his wife Brittney Noell recently welcomed their first son, Bobby.

Rep. John Lewis Honored With Hometown Service, Will Cross Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma!
John Lewis, the civil rights icon and U.S. Representative of Georgia, crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge one last time on Sunday during a memorial in his home state of Alabama Sunday morning. The flag-draped casket was pulled across the bridge, with rose petals on the ground and Lewis' family behind him. Lewis died at age 80 on July 17 following a battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Lewis joined other civil rights activists in March 1965 during the march from Selma to Montgomery to draw national attention to voting rights reform needed in Alabama. The marchers were met with police, who beat many of the Black activists, including Lewis, in what became known as Bloody Sunday. They still returned a few days later to complete their march to Montgomery. Eventually, their movement led to the Voting Rights Act being passed in 1966. Lewis often returned to the bridge during his life, including in 2015, when he was joined by President Barack Obama to mark the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

On Saturday, Lewis' hometown Troy held a memorial at Troy University, where Lewis could not enroll when he was a student because he was Black, notes the Montgomery Advertiser. "When I look at all of the accolades, the pictures I see all the time, I think about where he came from," Lewis' sister, Ethel Mae Tyner, said Saturday. "He came from humble beginnings, he was always humble and respectful."

During a service at Brown Chapel AME Church in Selma, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell reminded mourners there was still work to be done. Sewell, whose district includes parts of Birmingham, said she hoped Lewis would inspire the Voting Rights Act to be renewed, seven years after the Supreme Court struck most of it down. "John never gave up hope," Sewell said. "His optimism is what he inspired in all of us. We're all infused with that optimism. Can't you hear him? Find a way to get in the way. Good trouble. Necessary trouble."

"Good trouble" was a phrase used often during the memorial in Troy. Rosa Tyner, another of Lewis' sisters, said he told them to do something if they saw something wrong. "His actions showed us just that. In a time when going to jail was perceived as trouble, he reminded us that it was good trouble," she said, reports PEOPLE. "Necessary trouble."
Presidential Medal of Freedom. In his statement on Lewis' death, Obama noted that Lewis "loved this country so much that he risked his life and his blood so that it might live up to its promise." The former president added, "And through the decades, he not only gave all of himself to the cause of freedom and justice but inspired generations that followed to try to live up to his example."

Lewis' body will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol on Monday. There will be an invitation-only arrival ceremony first, then members of the public will be allowed to pay their respects, reports NPR.

‘Daredevil’ Actor Peter Shinkoda Claims Jeph Loeb Made Anti-Asian Comments During Production Of Netflix Series!
Daredevil Actor Peter Shinkoda took a stand on Sunday during #SaveDaredevilCon as he claimed that former head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said anti-Asian comments during the production of the series.
Shinkoda plays, Nobu Yoshioka who is part of the Hand in the series. During a panel with fellow actors Geoffrey Cantor and Tommy Walker, Shinkoda talked about how there was a story about Nobu in the works that dove deeper into his relationship with Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho) but it as scrapped”. He was clearly reluctant to talk about it at first, but that reluctance was quick to go away because he felt that he had to say something.

“Jeph Loeb told the writers room not to write for Nobu and Gao…and this was reiterated many times by many of the writers and showrunners,” Shinkoda said. “He said, ‘Nobody cares about Chinese people and Asian people. There were three previous Marvel movies, a trilogy called Blade that was made where Wesley Snipes killed 200 Asians each movie. Nobody gives a sh*t so don’t write about Nobu and Gao.'” As a result, the storyline was dropped.
This isn’t the first time Loeb has been accused for being tone-deaf about Asian representation. When Finn Jones was announced as the lead for Iron Fist, many saw it as a missed opportunity to cast an Asian in the lead. More than that, the dated story of the comic book character bolstered the white savior trope and the fetishization of Asian mysticism. Loeb also decided to show up to Comic-Con in a karate outfit which was definitely not a good look.

This adds to the alleged unprofessional behavior by show creators and producers on sets of comic book projects. Ray Fisher said the following about Joss Whedon when he filled in as director on Justice League: “Joss Whedon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment.”

During a Justice Con panel, Fisher stood by his claims saying, “If anything I’ve said about that man is untrue, I invite him to sue me for libel, slander….anything.”
Fisher also took to Twitter to support Shinkoda, saying “Our industry will not advance unless we are willing to speak the names of those preventing it from doing so! Thank you for standing up and speaking out @PeterShinkoda I stand with you.”

Billy Eichner Will Portray Paul Lynde To Shatter Hollywood Stigma On Gay Actors!
Billy Eichner is aiming to set a precedent for LGBTQ actors in Hollywood movies by starring as a queer TV legend himself.
The actor and comedian announced this week that he and producer Tom McNulty are developing “Man in the Box,” a biopic based on the life of actor, comedian and game show panelist Paul Lynde.

Lynde, who died in 1982 at age 55, rose to fame on Broadway in the smash 1960 musical “Bye Bye Birdie,” a role he reprised in the movie version three years later. His comedic talents soon led him to TV, and in 1964, he landed a recurring part on “Bewitched” as Uncle Arthur. Two years later, he made his debut on “Hollywood Squares”; he would become the game show’s regular “center square” guest from 1968 to 1981.
Though Lynde never came out as gay, his sexuality was said to have been an open secret in the film and TV industry during his lifetime. His deliberately camp persona in many of his roles winked at his private life.

In a wide-ranging interview with Deadline to announce the new project, Eichner compared his own professional trajectory with that of Lynde’s and said that ― while things have improved ― LGBTQ actors still have “limited” opportunities in front of the camera.
“What’s happened is that, when someone comes out of the closet, we celebrate them,” said Eichner, whose credits include the seminal series “Billy on the Street” and Disney’s photorealistic “Lion King” remake. “We applaud them. We put them on the cover of magazines. We say, thank you for living your truth, and thank you for being brave, and you’re such a role model for our gay kids.”

“And then instantly, that actor gets taken off so many casting lists in the business,” he continued. “This is exactly what happened to Paul, and if it’s still happening today, which I can tell you from my own career, having lived it on the day to day, for almost 20 years now, it happened to Paul in even more extreme ways, and he felt very limited by that.”
Eichner’s remarks came days after GLAAD unveiled the 2020 edition of its Studio Responsibility Index, an annual survey that serves as a barometer for LGBTQ representation in mainstream films. The advocacy group’s research found that 22 (or 18.6%) of 118 major studio films released in 2019 featured LGBTQ characters.

However, many of the most high-profile roles were played by actors who don’t identify as LGBTQ in real life. The Elton John biopic “Rocketman,” for instance, was a critical and commercial hit that nabbed a Golden Globe win for actor Taron Egerton, who is straight.
Eichner lamented that gay actors are “not even allowed to play our own heroes” and is hopeful that his performance in “Man in the Box” will lead to lasting change in the movie industry. Though he doesn’t think straight actors should be absolutely barred from portraying LGBTQ characters, he’d like the casting process to be less “hypocritical” and “lopsided.”
“There is no gay Tom Hanks in this country,” he said. “There is no gay Will Ferrell. There’s no gay Steve Carell. There’s no gay Paul Rudd. There’s no gay Kevin Hart. There’s no gay Will Smith. The list goes on and on, and that’s not a coincidence.”
“We have the lived-in experience to bring the intellectual nuance of it to the screen,” he added about LGBTQ actors. “I think we need to stop undervaluing that, the feeling that if a gay person plays a gay person it’s not acting, but if a straight person plays a gay person, we give them an Oscar.”

“Man in the Box” is one of several projects on Eichner’s current short list. Before the COVID-19 crisis shut down film production across the country, he’d been scheduled to begin work on a Judd Apatow-produced romantic comedy with two gay men as its central couple. He’s also slated to play conservative blogger Matt Drudge in “Impeachment: American Crime Story.”

WNBA Players Walk Off The Court During National Anthem!
The New York Liberty and the Seattle Storm walked off the court during the national anthem ahead of the WNBA’s season-opening game in Bradenton, Florida, on Saturday as a form of peaceful protest.
Each player wore Breonna Taylor’s name on the back of their jerseys, and both teams held a 26 second moment of silence in her honor, Deadline reports. Breonna Taylor, 26,  was killed by police executing a no-knock warrant on her home.

“We are dedicating this season to Breonna Taylor, an outstanding EMT who was murdered over 130 days ago in her home,” Liberty player Layshia Clarendon said. “Breonna Taylor was dedicated and committed to uplifting everyone around here. We are also dedicating this season to ‘Say Her Name’ campaign, a campaign committed to saying the names and fighting for justice of black women – black women are so often forgotten in this fight for justice, who don’t have people marching in the streets for them. We will say her name. Sandra Bland. Atatiana Jefferson. Dominique Remy Fells. Breonna Taylor. We will be a voice for the voiceless.”

The walk-off is part of a season-long initiative called the Justice Movement that the WNBA, in partnership with the Women’s National Basketball Players Association, announced earlier this month. This season, games will “honor the Black Lives Matter Movement and the #SayHerName Campaign,” and will continue “conversations about race, voting rights, LGBTQ+ advocacy and gun control amongst other important societal issues.”

Naya Rivera's Sister Shares Sweet Tribute To Late Star!
Naya Rivera's sister "can't imagine" life without the late actress.Model Nickayla, 25, posted a sweet picture of her as a youngster giving her big sister a kiss and shared a poignant message about their unbreakable bond.
She wrote: "Sister, There are no words to describe my love for you. Side by side or miles apart, our connection is infinite. Our bond is unbreakable. We were complete opposites, yet simultaneously the same. The yin to my yang. I never knew that by losing you, I would find so much of you in myself.
"I've never known a life without you in it & still can't imagine it. My world is turned upside down. But through it all, everything we were, we are still. I'll always look at you with the same eyes as I did when I was young.

"My shmaya, I'll love you for eternity & miss you every second of my life."
She later added another picture of them cuddling and wrote: "I love you".
Naya, 33, drowned earlier this month in Lake Piru in Southern California, after taking her son for a boat ride on July 8. It appears as if Naya got into difficulty while swimming and managed to get her four-year-old son Josey back into the boat safely but was unable to save herself.
Her body was recovered on July 13 and the 'Glee' star's death was declared an accidental drowning.
Josey's father, Naya's ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, also shared his grief on Instagram, calling the tragedy "unfair".

He wrote: "This is so unfair...there's not enough words to express the hole left in everyone's hearts. I can't believe this is life now. I don't know if I'll ever believe it. You were just here... We were just in the back swimming with Josey the day before. Life just isn't fair. I don't know what to say...I'm thankful for our times and our journey that brought us together and gave us the sweetest and kindest smart little boy we could ever hope for. I remember sometimes you used to get annoyed at me: 'Ryan can you stop snap chatting!' Haha. I'm glad I didn't listen to you because I have hundreds and probably thousands of snaps and videos that Josey will have forever and know his momma loved him more than life, and how much fun we had together as he was growing up. Life is all about good times and bad times but with Josey it makes the bad a little less so because a part of you will always be with us. He'll never forget where he came from. We miss you. We will always love you. Love you Meep."

Former NFL Star Antonio Brown and Fiancee Chelsie Kyriss Welcome Newborn A.K.B.!
Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown and his fiancee Chelsie Kyriss revealed on Instagram Saturday night they welcomed a new baby. Kyriss shared a photo of the baby, who is still in the hospital, on her Instagram Story, and revealed his initials, A.K.B. She also confirmed the baby was born on Thursday. Brown's post showed him cradling their baby and smiling for the camera. "Family all that matters," he wrote, adding the hashtag "Allure."
Brown announced he and Kyriss got engaged in March. Days later, he told fans in an Instagram Q&A session that she is pregnant with their fourth child together, reports The Blast. The two have had a rocky relationship, but reconciled during the week of the Super Bowl earlier this year.

Around the time of their reconciliation, Brown published an apology to Kyriss on Instagram. "First and foremost, I will love to Thanks the most high 'God' for allowing the 'God' that's in me to really look deep into myself, Mainly because greater the spirit thats in us, than the spirit that's Of the world," Brown wrote on Feb. 2. Brown and Kyriss have three sons together, all under the age of 5. In January, she sought sole custody of the children, USA Today reported at the time. Kyriss said Brown "continues to demonstrate an incapacity to make decisions that are in the best interest of the minor children." She filed the lawsuit in Broward County, Florida on Jan. 15 and asked the court to require Brown's visits with their children to be supervised.

Just days after Kyriss filed for custody, Brown turned himself in after Florida authorities issued an arrest warrant. for allegedly assaulting a moving truck driver outside e his home. Brown faced felony charges from the incident. Last month, he pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two years probation. He also has to complete 100 hours of community service, an anger management course and a psychological evaluation.
Earlier this month, the controversial Brown appeared to hint he was no longer going to play in the NFL. "Is it time to walk away i done [checkmark emoji] everything in the game?!!" he tweeted, later adding, "At this point the risk is greater than the reward thank you everyone who been part of this journey i sincerely thank you for everything! life goes on 84."

Usher Herpes Accuser Quantasia Sharpton Down From 454 Pounds After Weight Loss Surgery!
Quantasia Sharpton, who famously sued Usher back in 2017 for allegedly giving her herpes, is undergoing a massive weight loss transformation, The Blast reports.
Sharpton is reportedly down from 454 pounds after recently undergoing gastric sleeve surgery. The procedure was done by Dr. Theadore Hufford in Brooklyn, New York.

More via The Blast:
Dr. Hufford believes with the sleeve Quantasia can get her weight down to around 260 lbs. If she continues to lose weight he will complete a bypass surgery on Quantasia in 6 months, where she could get down to the 100’s.
We’re told Quantasia is already down 21 lbs. from the sleeve and is ready to keep going.
As The Blast previously reported, last year, Quantasia and two other people dismissed their legal battle against Usher.
Quantasia Sharpton, along with a Jane Doe and John Doe, sued the singer claiming they all had sexual relations with Usher. They all say he risked their health by not telling him about his alleged diagnosis and are seeking unspecified damages.

John Doe claimed he had sex with Usher at a Koreatown spa in Los Angeles. Throughout the case, Usher moved to dismiss all claims against him.
In December, Usher settled the final lawsuit relating to the Herpes allegations. He reached a deal with his insurance company to end their beef.
Back in 2017, New York Marine and General Insurance sued Usher and his company Fast Pace Inc. At the time, Usher was facing multiple lawsuit accusing him of exposing sexual partners to Herpes without disclosing the STD.
Aside from the Quantasia lawsuit, Usher faced a separate $20 million lawsuit brought by a woman named Laura Helm. The singer reached a confidential settlement with Laura to bring an end to her case.

Since the legal drama, Usher has been spotted around town with record exec Jennifer Goicoechea.

Mary Kay Letourneau Still Married to Vili Fualaau at Time of Death Despite Legal Separation!
Mary Kay Letourneau, the former teacher who was jailed for raping student Vili Fualaau before later marrying him, was still married to him at the time of her death earlier this month. Letourneau and Falaau separated in 2017, but her death certificate appears to confirm that she never completed the divorce. The 58-year-old Letourneau died on July 6 in Des Moines, Washington after a battle with stage 4 cancer.
Letourneau's death certificate listed her marital status as "married" and listed Fualaau as her surviving spouse, reports TMZ. The document listed metastatic colorectal cancer as the cause of death. Fualaau, 37, filed for legal separation back in May 2017, TMZ reported at the time. They married in 2005 and finalized the legal separation in August 2019. They had two children together, Audrey, 22, and Georgia, 21. Letourneau also had four children with her first husband, Steve Letourneau.

Although they were separated, Falaau was by Letourneau's side at the time of her death. Falaau and Letourneau's family issued a statement two days after her death, thanking people who reached out to offer their condolences. "We are endlessly grateful for the care and kindness received from the amazing professionals involved in Mary's care," they said. "Likewise, the kindness and compassion of friends and others who learned of her condition along the way proved an uplifting gift to us all." They asked for their privacy to be respected and said they did not plan on issuing further statements. They planned to "celebrate and honor the wishes of our wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, beloved family member and loyal friend and concentrate on caring for one another."

Letourneau was first arrested in 1996 after starting a sexual relationship with Fualaau, who was 12 or 13 at the time. The teacher was 34 at the time and first pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree child rape. She was sentenced to six months in prison, but after she was arrested a second time for having sex with Fualaau, her original seven and a half-year jail sentence was reinstated. Letourneau was released from prison in 2004 and had to register as a sex offender. A year later, she married Fualaau, and the marriage got national media attention.

A source told PEOPLE Letourneau "made peace" with both Fualaau and her first husband. "When it was clear that she wasn't going to make it, she made her peace with everyone in her life," the source said. "She died having made peace with Vili, Steve [Letourneau, her first husband], and all six of her kids. Everyone said everything that needed to be said.
