Simone Biles for Vogue US - August 2020!
Simone Biles made her Vogue cover debut, looking powerful and strong for the magazine’s August 2020 issue. Biles is powerful and strong not just on the outside, but on the inside as well. In an interview with Vogue’s Abby Aguirre, Biles discussed the difficult process of coming to terms with the abuse she endured from disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who is now in prison for life. She also talked about recovering from the postponement of the 2020 Olympics, which deeply affected her.
Biles, 23, is widely considered the greatest gymnast of all time. The world at large discovered her during the 2016 Rio Olympics, but for Biles, that was the beginning of a difficult time in her life. The news of Nassar’s widespread sexual abuse broke just a few weeks after the Olympics concluded, and Biles, on a whirlwind post-Olympic tour, wasn’t ready to process her own abuse yet.
“It didn’t feel like real life,” she told me of this period. “And there were little things that I did that I didn’t know why, but I felt like I was just trying to protect myself.” Such as? “Just, like, little quirks. Like I remember on tour, I would have really bad anxiety about nothing. Or like, walking down a hall, I feared that somebody was following me. I just had a lot of issues that were unexplained until I finally figured out why. The dots connected.”
Once she returned from the tour and the Nassar case began picking up steam, Biles refused to discuss it with her family, moving out on her own for the first time. Unfortunately, that didn’t help.
“I was very depressed,” Biles said. “At one point I slept so much because, for me, it was the closest thing to death without harming myself. It was an escape from all of my thoughts, from the world, from what I was dealing with. It was a really dark time.”
When Biles’ friend and collegiate gymnast Maggie Nichols spoke to the media about her abuse from Nassar in January 2018, things changed. For the first time, Biles was able to look at what she’d gone through with Nassar in a new light. For years she had denied it, but now she could finally recognize it for what it was: sexual abuse.
“I was reading Maggie’s coverage and it just hit me,” Biles said. “I was like, I’ve had the same treatments. I remember googling, like, sexually abused. Because I know some girls had it worse than me. I know that for a fact. So I felt like I wasn’t abused, because it wasn’t to the same extent as the other girls. Some of my friends had it really, really bad. They were his favorite. Since mine wasn’t to that capacity, I felt like it didn’t happen.”
Biles told Aguirre that the public’s perception of her played a role in her mental block, making it harder to accept what had happened to her.
“I felt like I knew, I just didn’t want to admit it to myself, that it had happened. Because I felt like, not that you’re supposed to be perfect, but I just felt like that’s what America wanted me to be — was perfect. Because every time an American wins the Olympics, you’re like America’s sweetheart. So it’s like, How could this happen to America’s sweetheart? That’s how I felt — like I was letting other people down by this.”When the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Biles took it very hard. Her mother, Nellie, told Aguirre how Biles reacted to the news.
“I spoke to my daughter, and she was just crying,” she told me. “And angry. And yelling. She was so distraught. Her emotions were all over the place because she did not know how she was supposed to feel.” Biles seemed to be going through stages of grief, Nellie said. “The loss is like she got a divorce or someone died, and she lost that person. That’s how deep I believe the loss was.”
Biles worked through most of her emotions about the postponement, but remained disappointed and a little sad about it.
“I felt kind of torn and broken,” she said. “Obviously it was the right decision, but to have it finalized — in a way, you feel defeated because you’ve worked so hard.”
For Biles, it’s about more than putting off her life plans and pouring another year into Olympic-caliber training. The postponement of the 2021 Olympics is wrapped up in Nassar’s abuse. Those emotions overcame her at practice one day. “We were gripping at the bars, and I just started crying,” she said. “Another year of dealing with USAG. That, I don’t know if I can take.”
Biles is moving forward, though. After spending months finding ways to stay in shape while quarantined at home, she’s getting back in the gym. “I’m starting to train toward it,” she said of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. And since USA Gymnastics declared bankruptcy, she’s planned her own post-Olympics tour: the “Gold Over America Tour.” The all-female 35-city tour will have a unique blend of entertainers and gymnasts. As long as the Olympics happen in 2021, so will the tour.
#RHOA: Mo’Nique Is Addressing Rumors She Might Join 'The Real Housewives Of Atlanta'!
Mo’Nique took a break from grilling watermelon to address weak tea. The comedian and Academy Award-winning actress responded to rumors that she might replace Nene Leakes on The Real Housewives of Atlanta while sharing a cooking video on her Instagram page.
“I wasn’t gonna say not a damn thing because I knew it was a lie,” she began.
“No, my sweet babies, I am not doing The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And in my humble opinion, Nene Leakes is irreplaceable. Nene Leakes is The Real Housewives of Atlanta if you ask me, baby, that’s been 13 years.”
Speculation about Nene Leakes possibly leaving the franchise have sparked a series of rumors about who might take her spot at regular OLG lunch dates if she does depart. Bravo recently denied rumors that she was fired from the series but there has been no confirmation that she will be returning to the show.
Mo’Nique made it clear she was not prepared for the intense requirements of the popular reality show.
“So no, I am not joining that cast though I respect all of those sisters they do what they do, and I am not replacing NeNe Leakes. Y’all know my spirit couldn’t take it. I couldn’t do those confessionals talking about my sisters like that,” she said.
She joked about the origin of the rumors being an unnamed source. “I sure would love to f**** meet ‘Source’ cause Source be saying s***,” she said. “Source is a popular b**** because she knows everybody’s business.”
THATS RIGHT YOU HEARD ME! GRILLED WATERMELON STEAK! I have to let you all know how they come out. Be unafraid to try something different. I LOVE US 4 REAL!!
Mo’Nique frequently chats with her followers while preparing healthy snacks and sharing glimpses at her on-going fitness journey.
“That was a total fabrication,” she continued. “You use words like that when you grilling watermelon. You don’t even call that s*** a lie. That was a fabrication.”

Will Smith Tells 50 Cent ‘F–K You’ Over Jada Pinkett Smith SHADE!
Will Smith isn’t known for foul language, but had no problem dropping the f-bomb on 50 Cent after the rapper took shots at his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
The “Power” producer, 45, posted a private message between himself and the Oscar-nominated actor, 51, Saturday morning where he is seen asking Will about the latest edition of Facebook Watch series “Red Table Talk.” The episode found Will and Jada discussing her “entanglement” with August Alsina while the couple were privately separated.
After asking Will if he’s ok, the “Bad Boy” actor responded that he’s fine and appreciates the concern.
“But why she tell you that s–t on a show for everybody to see?” 50 went on to ask, to which Will responded, “We broke up, so she did her and I did me.”
Changing the tone of the exchange, the Queens rapper added, “Then she said only SHE can give permission for somebody to blow her back out,” to which Will responded with a simple, “f–k you 50.”
Alsina asserted in an interview with Angela Yee that Will gave Jada “permission” to date him, which Jada denied, saying she knows the R&B singer didn’t want to be perceived as a “home wrecker.”
During the episode, Will was able to joke about supporting his wife through her “transgressions,” leading Jada to say, “I actually don’t look at it as a transgression at all. Through that particular journey, I learned so much about myself and was really able to confront a lot of emotional immaturity, emotional insecurity — and I was really able to do some really deep healing.”

Baby Kulture received a brand new toy car that any tot would be envious of, her aunt Hennessy Carolina gifted her the luxury car.
Because the nation is in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, the parents made sure to provide the guests with masks and hand sanitizers, along with a thermometer to make sure that guests temperatures were at a normal level.
Cardi B and Offset wore matching clothes for the event and it’s safe to say that Kulture enjoyed her birthday party.

Gospel Artist Kierra Sheard Talks Facing Down Body Image Pressures!
Gospel singer Kierra Sheard has revealed that she once considered leaving the music industry after facing pressure from label executives to lose weight.
And they were not kind about it. “I think the year was 2004. I was like a sophomore or junior in high school, and I used to be over 300 pounds. I remember I was trying to get signed to this record label; they basically said I looked like the Pillsbury doughboy and I shouldn’t shoot full-body images. So every time they encouraged me to do shoots from the waist up,” she told Page Six.
“They did not care about my feelings or me being a human … It’s been over 15 years and the words still haunt me.”
As far as the industry goes, Keard is gospel royalty. Daughter of gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard (member of gospel singing group The Clark Sisters) and the granddaughter of gospel choral director Mattie Moss Clark, the genre is more than just a career — it’s a part of her lineage, and she refused to kowtow to the bullies.
Instead, in June 2015, she started her clothing label, Eleven60, for full-figured women, named after the month and year of her mother’s birth. More recently, Sheard portrayed her The Clark Sisters biopic.
Last month, alongside her sister, Karen Clark-Sheard, she delivered a rousing performance of her single, “Something Has to Break,” to close out the 2020 BET Awards.
Kyle Queiro Apologizes After Questioning Jill Scott's Attractiveness!
Kyle Queiro learned a hard lesson this weekend: Do not question Jill Scott's beauty.
On Friday night, the NFL linebaker Jill Scott posted a series of tweets in which he suggested the Grammy-winning artist was no longer sexually attractive.
"People are attracted to JILL SCOTT!?" Queiro he wrote in a since-deleted post. "And by no means is she ugly, but ya'll really sexually aroused by her?"
Scott fans immediately came to her defense, and criticized Queiro's comments as both sexist and fat-shaming.
Even the likes of K. Michelle, Tory Lanez, and Questlove chimed in:
A day after the backlash ensued, Queiro shared a lengthy apology on social media, insisting he never intended to make Scott or anyone else "feel less than."
"First and foremost, I would like to to [sic] apologize to Miss Jill Scott," he began. "The topic of your beauty should not have been shared over social media for public discourse. There's truly no excuses or explanations to be made. My comments were distasteful and unbecoming of a Black man to speak negatively of a Black woman under any circumstance.
"Second, I would like to apologize to all of those who were also offended by my post. I'm aware of the layers of hurt I peeled back with my words. I had no intention to make people feel less than, but that's simply not good enough. Intention doesn't equate to impact. I am aware of how much more important one's impact is than their intention. Knowing this, I still offended a large number of people and for that I am deeply sorry."
Scott saw that she was trending again, but it wasn't for her Verzuz battle with Erykah Badu. Instead, she directed the attention on seeking justice for Breonna Taylor, Oluwatoyin Salau, and Sandra Bland.
Vivica A. Fox Wants Quentin Tarantino to Cast Zendaya as Her Daughter in a ‘Kill Bill’ Sequel!
It’s been 17 years since Quentin Tarantino’s seminal — and bloody — “Kill Bill: Vol. 1,” which may be enough time to tap into a potential sequel the film set up in 2003 — at least Vivica A. Fox thinks so. And she’s already got a few ideas up her sleeve.
In the film, Fox plays Vernita Green (codename Copperhead), who ends up on the sharp end of a knife throw from Uma Thurman’s Beatrix Kiddo. Vernita’s daughter walks in as she dies, and Kiddo says to the little girl: “When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I’ll be waiting.”
Well, Fox told NME Magazine she thinks Zendaya would be the perfect actor to play the daughter.
“How hot would that be? And that would probably green light this project. Because her and Uma are both very tall, and it would just be kick-butt, and I love her,” Fox said during the interview. “Hopefully now we can put that out, like, ‘Tarantino, cast Zendaya!’ And spark his interest to put it on the fast track. Wouldn’t it be amazing?”
Tarantino has teased the possibility of a third film for years. The first two made a combined $335 million at the worldwide box office. In May, Fox told The Hollywood Reporter that Tarantino and Thurman have recently been in talks to make something happen.
Zendaya has become one of the most sought-after young actresses in Hollywood, with performances in Sony’s new “Spider-Man” franchise, as well as HBO’s “Euphoria.”
Last week, she shared a black and white still from a movie that both she and “BlacKkKlansman” star John David Washington filmed while under coronavirus lockdown called “Malcolm & Marie.”
Zendaya didn’t share any details about the film’s story, but Deadline noted that the film resembles “Marriage Story” in its themes.
Levinson wrote the first draft of the script for “Malcolm & Marie” in just six days in March after production on “Euphoria” was shut down. They then filmed and completed production on the movie at the Caterpillar House in Carmel, California, a massive home on a vast, open estate.
The actress will also star in Denis Villeneuve’s much-anticipated upcoming adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel, “Dune,” starring Timothee Chalamet.
Authorities Release Underwater Footage Of Lake Where Naya Rivera Went Missing, Call Conditions 'Very Difficult'!
The Ventura County Sherriff's Department has released footage showing the underwater visibility of the lake where Naya Rivera went missing.
The former "Glee" actress, 33, disappeared Wednesday after she rented and boarded a pontoon boat at Lake Piru near Los Angeles with her 4-year-old son Josey. The boy has been located and is safe, but the search for Rivera is still ongoing.
At a Friday evening press conference, Capt. Eric Buschow explained that the department has brought in "specialized equipment," including a sonar system, to help in the search.
any objects that might look like a body," Buschow said.
"Last night, they had a couple of images that showed up on the sonar that they thought might be promising to investigate. This morning, they sent an ROV, or a small robotic device, down into the water to examine those objects. Unfortunately, they did not locate Naya Rivera. They are still searching."
A video posted on the department's Twitter page Friday, shot by the underwater device, shows cloudy and green water. It's tough to make out anything else in the 11-second clip other than a large tree limb.
Buschow called the murky water conditions "difficult," but said authorities are utilizing all the tools they can get their hands on.
"The visibility in the water is one to two feet," Buschow said, noting that the depth in the area being searched is up to 35 feet..
"We're still continuing the search and we appreciate everybody's cooperation," he said. "We know everyone's concerned out there about this case and locating her and providing some closure for her family."
Buschow said he's confident that Rivera's body will be found.
"It's very effective," the captain said of the sonar system. "They get a really detailed image and they can go down and focus on specific things rather than putting divers in the water where they're literally feeling around because they can't see."
Authorities are focusing on the north and east sides of the lake, based on where Rivera's boat was found and the wind patterns and currents.
"We don't know if she's gonna be found five minutes from now or five days from now so we're still going to be continuing this effort," Buschow said.
Josey, the son of Rivera's ex-husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, is "in good health," authorities confirmed earlier in the week.
Lake Piru is two miles long and its deepest point is "about 130 feet," Buschow said. Authorities are also using sniffing dogs to assist in the searches from boats.
Rivera's family has yet to release a public statement
Beyoncé & Her BeyGOOD Foundation Partner With NAACP To Provide Grants To Black-Owned Businesses!
Beyoncé and her charitable foundation BeyGOOD have been doing their part to assist the black community during the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the organization is partnering up with the NAACP to launch the Black-Owned Small Business Impact Fund.
The fund was announced on Thursday via the official BeyGOOD Instagram account. The program will provide grants in the amount of $10,000 and “will be offered to Black-owned small businesses in select cities to help sustain businesses during this time,” according to the NAACP website. The BeyGood application opened on July 9th and will remain open until July 18th. Once the deadline is reached, applications will then enter into a review process, which will take place from July 20th to July 29th, and then “selected applicants will be notified on Beyonce.com” on July 30th.
“The NAACP is proud to partner with BeyGOOD to help strengthen small businesses and to ensure economic empowerment for Black businesses,” reads the website’s Impact Fund description.
The NAACP explained, “The challenges of Black business owners navigating in the climate cannot be understated, as the effects of uprisings across the nation have led to many businesses being placed in dire straits due to damages and other small business needs.”
Applicants must either be a “Black-owned small business owner” or be able to “provide property damage or replacement estimates” in order to be eligible. Only businesses located in Houston, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, and/or Minneapolis qualify for the grant at this time.
Back in May, BeyGOOD launched mobile COVID-19 testing in Beyoncé hometown of Houston.
“The campaign has been created to start a movement to encourage black communities to prioritize health in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic,” the BeyGOOD Instagram post read.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson Claps Back at Troll Criticizing His Newborn Child's Name!
Jesse Tyler Ferguson has no time for haters. Earlier this week, the 44-year-old former Modern Family actor and husband Justin Mikita welcomed their first child named Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita.
People announced the exciting news on their Instagram account. A troll then commented on the post, writing, “What a stupid name seriously lol.”
Jesse then decided to clap back at the troll’s criticism by doing some digging on their Instagram account.
“If we could all just get along as one nation.” -you four posts ago. Sending love to you sir from us and Beckett,” Jesse wrote back.

Resource Energy CEO Pulls Gun On Hispanic Couple That Made A U-Turn On His Property!
Honestly, I don’t know if it’s the sense of entitlement or fear when it comes to people brandishing firearms for the smallest things. These regular civilians with no authority are getting out of hand and their ridiculous excuses are baseless. All they’re missing is a badge, but we already know what would happen if they had that.
The CEO of an energy company not only chased down a Hispanic couple but pulled his gun and pointed it at them after they made a u-turn on his Colorado property, the New York Post reports.
On June 12, Chris Ochoa, 26 and his girlfriend were on their way to a friend’s wedding rehearsal dinner but somehow their GPS navigation misdirected them to the affluent Elk Canyon Estates in Sedalia.
After realizing they were lost, Ochoa made a u-turn to get back on track, but “a large red truck pulled in front of me and cut me off, blocking the road,” Ochoa said on his Facebook post recalling their encounter with CEO Paul Favret.
Favret “immediately got out of his truck and pointed a gun at us. He then ran to my driver’s side window (which was down) and continued to point the gun and yell that he was ‘going to blow our head off!” Apparently, the CEO of Resource Energy was upset that Ochoa used his property to make the u-turn.
“During this time we had our hands up, pleading that we were only looking for my friend’s wedding party and that we were not doing anything wrong.” Ochoa said he told Favret they were lost and apologized, but says the man kept pointing his gun at them.
“My girlfriend was able to take a few pictures as he moved towards the front of our rental car, and she called 911 as well because we felt in danger as he kept pointing the gun at our faces and continued to tell us how much he wanted to kill us,” Ochoa added.
In a statement to police, Ochoa stated he stayed as still as possible, because of Favret’s rage. “I knew he could shoot any time, and I knew I could die at any time based on how he was reacting.” “As a minority, I felt in danger,” he said.
The couple later found out that they were not the only people to get lost, two other attendees of the rehearsal also ended up on the property, but did not get held at gunpoint. “We were also the only minorities in the entire neighborhood where this occurred,” he said on Facebook.
Sadly, Ochoa didn’t press charges because the venue owner where his friend’s wedding was taking place, threatened to cancel the event by stating: “If you press charges and disrupt my community I will cancel the wedding,” he wrote.
Ochoa said he was “in disbelief that she put me in the position of choosing between ruining my best friend’s wedding or doing what is right. I had no choice but to walk away. It amazed me that she was willing to cancel her own nephew’s wedding because of this.”
Luckily, the Douglas County District Attorney’s office filed five charges against Favret, who lied to authorities by saying he didn’t pull a gun on the couple. But thanks to the pictures by Ochoa’s girlfriend, authorities were able to call him out on his lying. Favret then blamed the pain medication he was currently taking and said he didn’t remember that part.
He is facing two counts of felony menacing counts and three misdemeanors, 9 News reported.
“The Facebook post in question does not portray an accurate version of the events. However, I deeply regret my actions that day,” Favret told the news through a company rep. “I had no way of knowing the identities of the individuals in the vehicle,” Favret told 9 News. “I just saw the unknown vehicle very close to the home at a time when we were not expecting any visitors and our property is clearly marked with our address and is about 1/2 mile from their destination.” He also insist he could not tell the couple’s race and said intruders have used his property to illegally elk hunting.
Ochoa identifies as Mexican American and has requested that the case be reopened. Sadly, the incident scared him so bad he skipped out on the wedding the next day.
